LEGO Ideas Ship in a Bottle review ⚓ 21313 - Duration: 11:33.
hello everyone this is the very classy looking lego ideas ship-in-a-bottle set
and it is significantly noticeably smaller than the original ideas
submission from a fan but I think that's actually a very good thing this is
practically one-to-one scale to many real ships in a bottle and especially
the bottle part itself it actually ends up being a little bit larger than many
liquor bottles are and so I think this is a great scale in fact a perfect scale
thing is very visible from a distance looks kind of realistic from a distance
yet it doesn't take up too much space and very unfortunately it was not too
difficult to put together with the kind of eggshell construction of the bottle
with those non-abs hard transparent pieces the pieces have extraordinarily
high clutch power due to the surface of the material which makes them more
difficult to put together however they are also very springy so if you're
dealing with a bunch of pieces in a fairly hollow assembly and you use too
much force you can very quickly be punished by a very sudden and violent
disassembly this set the way it's designed in its final form here though
is not too bad there are a couple of hairy moments as you attach these large
curved pieces near the the shoulders or that form the shoulders and also when
you're putting in just the last couple of panels on the top that go just over
the mass and actually their rear one touches and compresses it ever so
slightly that definitely requires some finesse and it helps if you have small
fingers I do not have particularly small fingers so I got none of that help but
it was able to work out in the end I said definitely requires some finesse
and patience patience is definitely your friend it could have been a lot worse
though I'll tell you that for sure I love this cap and cork it's easily one
of my favourite things to look at on the entire model the whole model is
basically three assemblies you have the bottle
you know the ship in the bottle and you have to stand oh yeah there's also the
water which consists of 284 trans light blue stud pieces that you just pour in
fortunately you don't need to sort them out from any other bags they just have
three bags labeled number three and you just pour their full contents out and
then try to kind of level them out from front to back before you start to close
the bottle up the ship is attached fairly securely there's not a lot of
worry about it falling over in there if you pick up the bottle or something like
this there the ship is attached with some jumper pieces which ultimately are
held in place with a bunch of headlight bricks that are used on the base here
and they also use a lot of headlight bricks on what is truly the bottom of
the bottle so yes there's a lot of prism effect that goes throughout here I think
it looks pretty good I'm glad that it's a little bit more clear in the center
with the large panel pieces but overall again it's very sturdy and not too
frustrating to actually put together well this is a very nice small ship
build it's surprisingly sturdy and dense for its size it has a good level of
detail and it features building in every major direction plus some including
upside down they got little representations of the cannons and the
gun ports on the sides I really like the kind of banister style railing done
around the rear quarter deck with the new color I believe for those relatively
new round 1 by 1 plates with the little bar extension I think that's a new color
for those look forward to collecting a bunch of those you know if they use some
offset construction throughout this going from odd width to even width with
the numbers of studs these masts are attached pretty securely they will stay
exactly where you want them to be the level of detail on the main deck is
really good they've even got the the cover for the hold there with
texture with the grill piece they used the half plate thickness design and
level of texture and and placement for the the bulwarks going around the edges
you got some extended plates up towards the front just a lot of really good
stuff going on here it almost looks like it has a wheel at there area as well
almost you just just practically imagine it and I mean I can't appreciate enough
what they've done with the mass just how sturdy sturdy
they are you can angle them wherever you want them to be you can change the
angles of the sails just a little bit and yeah they think they look great you
don't have a little sea serpent prints for the center portions of the the main
sails there and those have a little bit of gold on them so they have a little
bit shimmer it's it's good it's good all around the faux wooden stand is also
legit it is very sturdy has a minimum number of unintended studs that appear
on any of its sides really like the compass in here you can actually rotate
this around it would be cool to come up with a little conversion for the
interior to possibly make that actually work notice that this dish is printed on
the opposite side so you're actually looking at the underside of it very good
technique there exclusive print also for the panel on the front for the name of
the ship they give you a couple of these little globes that can be spun around
and oriented however you want and interestingly this has a lot of teal
pieces inside of it the recently re-released old classic color not able
to see them from the outside whatsoever but there's a lot of teal used inside of
here there's actually a fair amount of teal used there we go I can pop up one
of these bits there's a lot more than you can see here but it's just a little
little teaser of it there are a lot of teal pieces used or some teal pieces
used inside of the ship as well nice to see that kind of given to us you
know for folks who want to start stocking up on that color again yeah if
you get extra pieces or you start to disassemble existing things it would be
nice to get more of the more desirable rarer colors used in places where you
don't even see them in the first place one wonderful hidden though static
feature of the stand is that it actually keys in or rather the bottle keys in
with a couple of the 1 by 2 plates that just barely stick out on the sides
those just slot right in there and the stand actually holds the boat and keeps
it from sliding forward to back so this is even more secure than it appears the
the bottle really wants to stay exactly where you place it and that's on all
axes so again nice and sturdy even though it's not directly connected with
any studs oh one thing that does kind of rub me the wrong way about this set I
should have pointed it out earlier is the kind of maker's mark here the the
faux wax seal at the top I forgot to mention that that's a printed piece but
it actually has the the initials of the Lego designer who worked on making this
into a real product and not the initials of the original fan designer now I do
have to acknowledge that this really is the Lego designers design and product it
is very significantly different from the original winning Lego ideas fan
submission but I think that it would have been a nicer nod to put the fan
designers initials there because ultimately the fan designer was
responsible for us having a primarily responsible for us having this set at
all to be able to get so yeah I think that was a little bit a little bit off
it's also funny that the kind of mirror the thing depending upon which side of
the box you're looking at this is the way that it was built in the
instructions but you can just flip this around it it's pretty easy it's also not
that easy to get the boat out so kind of decide upfront if you want the
boat in or not and this whole thing they have on the on the box of all of the
studs being right-side up nah no way never gonna happen you will lose your
mind if you try to make that happen I do not recommend it maybe they could have
used rounded tiles instead that might have looked a little bit more consistent
at least with the ones that are right side up and upside down nevertheless
this is a beautiful set I think that it is great to have something like this
produced through the Lego ideas system it is not licensed it is not corporately
backed it is not about politics it's not about space again we've got a lot of
space stuff I love space stuff but I really want to see more more variety and
this I think is a perfect example of just Lego fans doing stuff with the
product with the bricks with the pieces coming up coming up with something
that's cool and that hasn't been done by Lego and making it happen and making it
real so I'm very happy that this this one if you will I think that it was a
great idea to begin with and I think that the Lego designer has made it a
much better product than the original fan submission was on top of that and
finally I think the value in terms of price you pay to volume of stuff that
you get is reasonable here you know it does have a ton 284 of those individual
stud pieces used for water but even if you subtract those completely ignore
their existence and then just look at the price part ratio after they are
removed it still looks really good and that's in spite of the fact that this
has some pretty large and four of those particularly rare and expensive and
valuable corner rounded panel pieces so yeah value is good build is good display
value is excellent easily one of my favorite Lego ideas sets today
that does it for my thoughts on this set though hope that I showed you everything
decently well I'm gonna continue working on other review videos as well as my own
custom built and my big lego city so I'll talk to you again soon

Today I wanted to talk to you about my story with motorcycles
How did I get into this world?
(Some mild ranting)
This is Fakeih Aquarium
Which is like any other aquarium
I just said an animal park, not a fish park!
There is also a restaurant
It is nice to take your family there
So, my story with motorcycles...
I always loved motorcycles
Since I was a little kid
But I never had the chance to buy one
But I always wanted to buy one
I always kept on saying: "One day, I will get one"
Then...
I stumbled upon several motovloggers on YouTube
Mostly international ones
and few Arabic ones
I followed them
Got very enthusiastic about it again
then
I told myself
"If you are not going to buy a bike now, you will never will!"
I researched it
and kept on watching more episodes and videos
Luckily I had an upcoming trip to the US
I told myself; "this is a good chance"
"Let me find me some place where I can learn how to ride"
So I can learn properly
Kept on researching
Then I heard about this thing by many motovloggers named "MSF"
They mostly recommend to start with an MSF course
Motorcycle Safety Foundation
This foundation has many courses
I chose the Basics Rider Course
I found a class near the city I was staying at
Checked their schedule and booked a class
I immediately paid for it as well
I had to check first whether or not they accept international students
and what are the requirements
I probably should make a vlog dedicated to describing the class and how it went
You just need to bring a jacket or long sleeve sweater
Gloves
Jeans (Not flared)
Boot cut is fine, but flared jeans are not acceptable
and a boot for your feet
I had my jeans and glasses but the boot, gloves, and jacket I had to buy
I got me a Timberland's boot
Few days before the course I went and bout a pair of gloves and a motorcycle jacket
I had no experience in the types of jackets though
I learned A LOT in that course
and became more comfortable riding a bike
It was time to come back to Saudi Arabia and get my driving license
and buy me a bike
I always loved Sports bikes
and thats what I was looking for
although I was trained on a cruiser bike during the course, which I loved
I really like those cruisers
Very comfortable and great seating position
But I had to buy a sports bike, it is my passion
Once I got my driving license, I immediately bought my bike
and starting to drive it slowly
I really wanted to contribute back to the community
Just like how I learned a lot from other motovloggers
which mostly was not in Arabic
Therefore, I'm sure a lot of Native Arabic speakers
Are looking for Arabic content on motorcycles
Therefore, I wanted to help. Definitely I can't fill the gap myself a lone
but others are helping as well
They are providing great content
So I decided to have a YouTube channel dedicated to that
so others can benefit the way I did

How to make a quick mini album - Start to finish tutorial. - Duration: 47:54.
hey crafters it's Hannah from handcrafted cards.com welcome to my channel today
today's tutorial is this little mini album which I absolutely love
so opens out like that we've got some flap going on the there and pocket really
really cool I'm going to show you how to put it together we're gonna cut the
pieces that we need and we can make this together it's actually very quick to
make and so yeah it won't take you long to put these together so if you are new
to my channel and this is the kind of tutorial that you enjoy then don't
forget to subscribe so you will be notified every time I upload a new video
which is three times a week so you don't want to miss any other tutorials so
let's get started okay so to start off we're going to cut our pages and these
are 12 by 6 so I'm using black because that's the Oberto that I've got left
in so we need three of those and then for the covers we need two pieces that
are six and a quarter by six and a quarter so I can't get that oh these
kind of yeah no welcome back to that in a minute so with a three board and score
those
three and knowing you're gonna do that for all three pieces three and I'm just
gonna fold and burnish those score lines
okay that's the basis of the album done
so after you've done that you need to stick together those two pieces and then
those two pieces so I'm gonna use what show you so you some double-sided so on
two of the pieces you just need to put tape on one flap
I'm gonna do it all the way around just to make sure it's stuck really well and
on this one you're gonna do it on both flaps so might speed up through this
actually why am I talking about you only need to do own one so you actually just
need to do it on one flap not too far okay so the backings oh I need to line
these two pieces but stick those together burnish it both ways and then
do the same on this side
and do the same thing make sure it's lined up very shipped go so that is the
basis of your album and then mix or fold over that way and that will fold over
that way and give it another good furnish in both position so open it fold
that one in and hold that one and then give it a good burnish that way either
way you fold it it's gonna sit nicely okey-dokey so now that we've done of
that we need to do the cover so I'm gonna go and decide which cover which
pillar even I want for my cover my cover I've decided to go with soft suede so I
need one piece that is six and a quarter by twelve and then two pieces that oh
six and a quarter by six and a quarter
I sit in court on these leftover bits we use for photo mats afterwards so taking
the larger of the cover pieces bring a scoreboard back in and when you're gonna
split we can't speak we're going to score
two and three quarters three nine and nine and a quarter I cuts jumping away
he's not supposed and they fold on those score lines this is going to be
okay so you've got your cover like so so this is gonna get stuck inside like
either way doesn't matter gonna get stuck and it will fit nicely in the
middle there and then these will close over but obviously that doesn't meet up
so that's why we have these pieces so these will sit on each of those flaps
and we'll give you another area to work with so let's get some sticking doing so
you want tape on the two flaps both of these
you
like so so that stuff on the outside and then with Vic's piece you want tape on
the back of the middle section just the middle section so that's your front flip
it over and that's where you want to stick your tape and this you want to
make sure is really well stuck so good tape coverage please
you
there we go it's a bringing us back in this is gonna sit in the middle so I
remove all the tight
okay you want to make sure this is even top to bottom so I'm just gonna stand up
and open it up and give it a good burnish from the inside so that's really
stuck well then you can add our flaps to these sides
and if you open it out you can line it up with that score line up to it but not
over it and again give it a good burnish
ms/ms ID okay up to the score line but not over it go how quick was that so
like that you have your middle section so you can close either way I like them
closed to the outside and then in in and that side you may need to trim one side
a little bit shorter and if it's not sitting nicely but I think mine is fine
so the next thing is to decorate so I think I've decided I'm gonna go with the
coffee break designer series paper and it does go quite nicely with the color
of the cardstock so I am going to cut my pieces that I need and then I'll be
right back and give you those measurement alrighty so I have cut all
of my paper and I'll give you those measurements now so for the front cover
I've got a piece of basic black that is 6x6
I will have all these measurements written down as are so don't worry if
you don't catch them and then a piece of very vanilla that is 5 and gosh yeah
five and a half by five and a half so I'm going to do some stamping on there
later on so I'll just pop that to this side for the second so but the
measurements that you need are basically the same throughout the whole thing
except for the cover so for the cover sections that's these two flaps your
designer series paper is 6x6 so that's for this flap and this flap one that we
added on so those are 6x6 then for the rest of it for the up
calling it the large photo mat those are 5 and 3/4 by 5 and 3/4 so that'll be for
that page when you flip it over turn it will be for this larger one here and
then when you flip it open the middle sections they're they're all the same
size so you only really have to remember one measurement and then for the smaller
flaps these ones they're five and three quarters by two and three quarters and
again it's the same for both sides so I've kind of gone for I've done it so
all kind of coordinate so when you open it up you're gonna have it's gonna look
like that so those too much and then those obviously it's from the same
designer series paper pack so it will match and then that one matches that one
and then when you open it up to the middle right like so then it's all good
match with the coffee cups so it will look like that so I've got two smaller
ones there one of the larger ones there and two smaller ones there and then when
you open this side you're going to have the coffee stains like so and then when
you open this side you have the stripes so I'm gonna do I'm gonna speed through
it all I'm gonna stick all these all these down but I will obviously speed it
up because it's gonna take you know a few minutes to do it all so yeah just
enjoy me sticking it down
you
okay so I've cooked out these pieces from the designer series paper and I
think that's pretty much how I'm going to lay out I'm going to do some stamping
on here first using the Thomas texture stamp set and the coffee stain and with
some soft suede I'm just gonna stamp some coffee stains along the bottom and
the top
in there
I'm just stamping off any the excess ink that is on here as well so you would get
a to Tony type of look I'm just gonna keep going until all of that ink is gone
think that's probably cut it all and I'm turning this stamp as I was going so
it's not all you know just exactly the same as you go along so arrange my
pieces and I can't remember how I had them difficult
it's done yeah
something like that I think
yeah we'll go with that
that looks good Luzi means you couldn't see
there you go so I'm just gonna stick all those down and I will speed through this
part as well
okay so now I've stuck those and I've got the
truly tailored stamp set I'm gonna do a little bit of
stamping on just a scrap piece that I've got and use espresso just clean up that
way so I'm going to use the truly tailored and the looking sharp stamp
because obviously it's like a folk little mini album so big figure looking
sharp he's appropriate and then using the Tru
truly tailored punch
Oh
I do want some so before I stick this down as well I'm actually going to ink
the edges with soft suede and I'm just going to touch the edge of the ink pad
so it's just ever so slightly and if you can make it out but it's just following
the edges
yeah so when you hold it up against another piece you can see the edges are
colored so look at dry for a sec then take this piece and some of the fern up
I'm just gonna wrap around in the middle
stick it down really well into that adhesive wrap it around and pull it kind
of tight if you can
oh no that's so adhesive all the way around edges and some in the middle
straight
and then I cut it so you've got a good-sized border around the edge as
well I thought that would look good now we can stick this to the front make sure
it's the right way around you don't want to stick it down the wrong way so I can
see
the edges of this should be dry so I'm just gonna add some dimensionals to the
back
and just to be sure it sticks over that burlap I've added a few extra
is backing de
come on
it's gonna pop that in the middle press it down really well I love it awesome
okay so alright that is pretty much the album finished it's just to decide now
if you want some pockets on the inside so I'll show you how to do that and you
could just leave it as it is now and that would be gravy
but you might want to pack it so you can add pockets to any of the museum as you
can see there go that was far any of the large pages so you could add pockets to
these two here I wouldn't I would enough for this one I don't I don't know why I
think you just look a bit weird all this one I would do them on the insides of
these so we will do one on the very middle inside here so all you need to do
is measure just double measure the the width which obviously is just a smidge
under six now so I would say it's like oh five and seven eighths mm even less
and that it's just one tick mark under the six basically so um you just need to
add half an inch for each side and then decide how deep you want it so probably
take it from there so about two inches so be 2 by 7
basically so oh that
yes this color oh no I want it to be too but I need
space for the flap so two and a half by seven and again the measurements will be
in the description so don't worry and then you need to score hot on three
sides and half-inning fold your knives and I just like to double check that it
is gonna fit before I add any type just the width really just make sure that mm
yeah give it a really good burnish and that would be fine so finish that well
okay then we're just gonna add some tape
Oh
I have a girl and then miter the corner so that's square that is formed in the
middle when you score it you're just going to cut that away and a little bit
extra so just over the score lines you can see that it's just a little bit a
little bit extra cut off and then my to the top of that flap as well and do the
same on the other side
in this spit so take all the taper it's my okie tool and when I'm doing a pocket
I make sure that the bottom flap goes up first then the sides so that when things
are going in actually no that's wrong sides and then the bottom even so when
things are going in they're not gonna catch on that corner so sides then the
button and I'm gonna line it up with the black cardstock you could line up at the
very bottom if you want to but I think it'll look neater yeah
so really burnish that well particularly on the sides just to make sure it folds
over still and give that a burnished on either side there so we don't want it to
be blank we will add some designer series paper I do have some extra coffee
cup sea coffee cups and stuff there which I'll use I think I'll use the
other side of this and cooked out so this was what it is saying 6 by 2 we
just make a note of that okay 6 by 2 so the DSP would be 5 and 3/4 by 1 and 3/4
so you just grab my trimmer
it sounded pretty stuck in Africa and that will sit nicely on there
oops
I do actually think I'll use these on something else because I think that
looks quite nice just oh that's a lazy pocket so that size pocket will fit here
as well if you want pockets there and if you want pockets on this piece because
this is a little bit bigger this is six and a quarter so it would be six by two
it by one no hang on it would be seven sorry
oh yeah hang on that's wrong because
actually the pocket it was seven by
two-and-a-half brain then yeah so for this one it would be six seven and a
quarter so I'll put also larger pocket and I will put that in the description
larger pocket would be seven and a quarter by two and a half okay so all of
this will be written in the description whoops
so that's the larger pockets for these two outer pages and thirty years I think
that's it for the album like I said with the bits that are left over you could
Bank some fotomat and I'll just show you how to do one of those quickly so these
are can just sit in these pockets like so or if I can just be placed in there
so whatever I got left over here
there we go okay so I've got a few pieces of homework is this soft suede oh
my goodness what is wrong with my brain I think I need to go and have some
dinner or something so a very quick photo match this is six PI so put it
down to just double check
cut that down to five and a half by five and a half which is and then grab some
paper so make that five and a quarter by
five and a quarter Stampin Up doesn't do the corner enter anymore but I love it
and so I have it I haven't got rid of it but any corn around or do really I do
want to get the we r memory keepers the big chompers
and then grab some of the birla again something that Stampin Up doesn't sell
anymore is the handheld stapler but it's a stapler you could use any stapler be
phone and grab a little length of birla that's mm six inches probably won't even
need that much double it over like that and then staple that on
technical difficulties with the stapler oh there we go
it's weird okay where was we he was a yeah go trim that down a bit doesn't
need to be super long that will sit nicely in your pocket there when you've
got a little pull so you can picture that side all on that side or like I
said they can just sit in side whoops inside there so these spots you could if
you used just some plain Very Vanilla card stock or whisper white your fees
could be your journaling journaling spots so you don't have to use designer
series paper here or you know if you wanted to have one of these that would
be for journaling and then the rest with your designer series paper on so there's
a few different options for decorating it as well and you can if you want to
add magnets for a closure but it does stay close um or you could add some
ribbon so if you wanted to add the ribbon I would stick it underneath this
piece of designer series paper and then another piece on the back and cover the
back with designer series paper then you could tie it there like so but that is
all I'm doing now for this little out in so
you a very quick look so that's the front and it measures when it's all done
just over six by six and a quarter so open to that side you can put pictures
and that side and then that side opens then you've got another flap here that
will open double then open that side and you've got your flap there but opened
double and then you've got your nice big pocket in the middle there so like I
said all of the measurements would be in the description and list of the products
and if you click on one of those items it will take you to my online shop where
you can get everything that you need to make this little album I hope that

The current price for accumulating points At Lawsons is a Kitty-chan plate
So what I picked up we're the ones With the stickers to get me that Kitty-chan plate

Is what I bought today There were quite a few bread selections that I haven't had before

It looks so tasty

The dough has a nice cheesy flavor to it And inside is some pizza toppings

this Kawaii packaging has a retro feel to it

The bun reminds me of a curry bun
the katsu has soaked up so much of a sauce Making it so yummy

So today! tadaa! I bought all the sweets that were Available at Lawson's convenience store
BUT...... It might just be that I chose the wrong time of day
To go there and what I've ended up picking up were mostly things that I've eaten before
Since my haul looked quite pitiful I added a bunch of breads as well
The current price for accumulating points At Lawsons is a Kitty-chan plate
So what I picked up we're the ones With the stickers to get me that Kitty-chan plate
and what I picked up today are: ( ~ stuff ~ )

Is what I bought today There were quite a few bread selections that I haven't had before
And this is the sheet that I'll be attaching the stickers to in order to collect my plate

Let's start off with the bread Chewy wrapped Pizza
It looks so tasty
That's very chewy
The dough has a nice cheesy flavor to it And inside is some pizza toppings
Pizza sauce and hot dogs
Next up, a deep fried bread Custard and whipped cream
this Kawaii packaging has a retro feel to it

It's slightly on the moist side Filled with a light whipped cream custard filling

The mincemeat Katsu is truly jutting out of it
The bun reminds me of a curry bun
the katsu has soaked up so much of a sauce Making it so yummy

There is sooooo~ much cream inside It's so fluffy
You should enjoy both chocolate and custard At the same time
I've got milk tea to drink today
Next up is a mentaiko fish egg butter french bread
It's so long And you can tear it up
Easy to tear
Chewy And yummy
and the mentaiko butter is so yummy

The surface is so tasty With a chewy and fluffy interior

LEGO Ideas Ship in a Bottle review ⚓ 21313 - Duration: 11:33.hello everyone this is the very classy looking lego ideas ship-in-a-bottle set
and it is significantly noticeably smaller than the original ideas
submission from a fan but I think that's actually a very good thing this is
practically one-to-one scale to many real ships in a bottle and especially
the bottle part itself it actually ends up being a little bit larger than many
liquor bottles are and so I think this is a great scale in fact a perfect scale
thing is very visible from a distance looks kind of realistic from a distance
yet it doesn't take up too much space and very unfortunately it was not too
difficult to put together with the kind of eggshell construction of the bottle
with those non-abs hard transparent pieces the pieces have extraordinarily
high clutch power due to the surface of the material which makes them more
difficult to put together however they are also very springy so if you're
dealing with a bunch of pieces in a fairly hollow assembly and you use too
much force you can very quickly be punished by a very sudden and violent
disassembly this set the way it's designed in its final form here though
is not too bad there are a couple of hairy moments as you attach these large
curved pieces near the the shoulders or that form the shoulders and also when
you're putting in just the last couple of panels on the top that go just over
the mass and actually their rear one touches and compresses it ever so
slightly that definitely requires some finesse and it helps if you have small
fingers I do not have particularly small fingers so I got none of that help but
it was able to work out in the end I said definitely requires some finesse
and patience patience is definitely your friend it could have been a lot worse
though I'll tell you that for sure I love this cap and cork it's easily one
of my favourite things to look at on the entire model the whole model is
basically three assemblies you have the bottle
you know the ship in the bottle and you have to stand oh yeah there's also the
water which consists of 284 trans light blue stud pieces that you just pour in
fortunately you don't need to sort them out from any other bags they just have
three bags labeled number three and you just pour their full contents out and
then try to kind of level them out from front to back before you start to close
the bottle up the ship is attached fairly securely there's not a lot of
worry about it falling over in there if you pick up the bottle or something like
this there the ship is attached with some jumper pieces which ultimately are
held in place with a bunch of headlight bricks that are used on the base here
and they also use a lot of headlight bricks on what is truly the bottom of
the bottle so yes there's a lot of prism effect that goes throughout here I think
it looks pretty good I'm glad that it's a little bit more clear in the center
with the large panel pieces but overall again it's very sturdy and not too
frustrating to actually put together well this is a very nice small ship
build it's surprisingly sturdy and dense for its size it has a good level of
detail and it features building in every major direction plus some including
upside down they got little representations of the cannons and the
gun ports on the sides I really like the kind of banister style railing done
around the rear quarter deck with the new color I believe for those relatively
new round 1 by 1 plates with the little bar extension I think that's a new color
for those look forward to collecting a bunch of those you know if they use some
offset construction throughout this going from odd width to even width with
the numbers of studs these masts are attached pretty securely they will stay
exactly where you want them to be the level of detail on the main deck is
really good they've even got the the cover for the hold there with
texture with the grill piece they used the half plate thickness design and
level of texture and and placement for the the bulwarks going around the edges
you got some extended plates up towards the front just a lot of really good
stuff going on here it almost looks like it has a wheel at there area as well
almost you just just practically imagine it and I mean I can't appreciate enough
what they've done with the mass just how sturdy sturdy
they are you can angle them wherever you want them to be you can change the
angles of the sails just a little bit and yeah they think they look great you
don't have a little sea serpent prints for the center portions of the the main
sails there and those have a little bit of gold on them so they have a little
bit shimmer it's it's good it's good all around the faux wooden stand is also
legit it is very sturdy has a minimum number of unintended studs that appear
on any of its sides really like the compass in here you can actually rotate
this around it would be cool to come up with a little conversion for the
interior to possibly make that actually work notice that this dish is printed on
the opposite side so you're actually looking at the underside of it very good
technique there exclusive print also for the panel on the front for the name of
the ship they give you a couple of these little globes that can be spun around
and oriented however you want and interestingly this has a lot of teal
pieces inside of it the recently re-released old classic color not able
to see them from the outside whatsoever but there's a lot of teal used inside of
here there's actually a fair amount of teal used there we go I can pop up one
of these bits there's a lot more than you can see here but it's just a little
little teaser of it there are a lot of teal pieces used or some teal pieces
used inside of the ship as well nice to see that kind of given to us you
know for folks who want to start stocking up on that color again yeah if
you get extra pieces or you start to disassemble existing things it would be
nice to get more of the more desirable rarer colors used in places where you
don't even see them in the first place one wonderful hidden though static
feature of the stand is that it actually keys in or rather the bottle keys in
with a couple of the 1 by 2 plates that just barely stick out on the sides
those just slot right in there and the stand actually holds the boat and keeps
it from sliding forward to back so this is even more secure than it appears the
the bottle really wants to stay exactly where you place it and that's on all
axes so again nice and sturdy even though it's not directly connected with
any studs oh one thing that does kind of rub me the wrong way about this set I
should have pointed it out earlier is the kind of maker's mark here the the
faux wax seal at the top I forgot to mention that that's a printed piece but
it actually has the the initials of the Lego designer who worked on making this
into a real product and not the initials of the original fan designer now I do
have to acknowledge that this really is the Lego designers design and product it
is very significantly different from the original winning Lego ideas fan
submission but I think that it would have been a nicer nod to put the fan
designers initials there because ultimately the fan designer was
responsible for us having a primarily responsible for us having this set at
all to be able to get so yeah I think that was a little bit a little bit off
it's also funny that the kind of mirror the thing depending upon which side of
the box you're looking at this is the way that it was built in the
instructions but you can just flip this around it it's pretty easy it's also not
that easy to get the boat out so kind of decide upfront if you want the
boat in or not and this whole thing they have on the on the box of all of the
studs being right-side up nah no way never gonna happen you will lose your
mind if you try to make that happen I do not recommend it maybe they could have
used rounded tiles instead that might have looked a little bit more consistent
at least with the ones that are right side up and upside down nevertheless
this is a beautiful set I think that it is great to have something like this
produced through the Lego ideas system it is not licensed it is not corporately
backed it is not about politics it's not about space again we've got a lot of
space stuff I love space stuff but I really want to see more more variety and
this I think is a perfect example of just Lego fans doing stuff with the
product with the bricks with the pieces coming up coming up with something
that's cool and that hasn't been done by Lego and making it happen and making it
real so I'm very happy that this this one if you will I think that it was a
great idea to begin with and I think that the Lego designer has made it a
much better product than the original fan submission was on top of that and
finally I think the value in terms of price you pay to volume of stuff that
you get is reasonable here you know it does have a ton 284 of those individual
stud pieces used for water but even if you subtract those completely ignore
their existence and then just look at the price part ratio after they are
removed it still looks really good and that's in spite of the fact that this
has some pretty large and four of those particularly rare and expensive and
valuable corner rounded panel pieces so yeah value is good build is good display
value is excellent easily one of my favorite Lego ideas sets today
that does it for my thoughts on this set though hope that I showed you everything
decently well I'm gonna continue working on other review videos as well as my own
custom built and my big lego city so I'll talk to you again soon
