Youtube daily report w Feb 14 2018

Pubic hair, the hair that grows around the genital area of an adolescent or adult human

– and sometimes stretches beyond – seems not to be in vogue these days.

We start to see it during what we call the puberty phase of growing-up, when androgens

in males and estrogens in females rise.

Some girls will start to have early stages of pubic hair at around eight years old, and

by the time they are thirteen, most will have much thicker hair.

Boys will develop public hair at the earliest at age nine, but puberty more commonly starts

for them at the age of twelve.

Some youngsters develop fast, which is known as "precocious puberty", and others are

late to the starting gates.

Many adults these days shave, crop, style and wax their bush, which might not always

be the best decision.

Today we'll find out why, in this episode of the Infographics Show, Why do we have pubic

hair?

Don't forget to subscribe and click the bell button so that you can be part of our

Notification Squad.

The reason we start growing pubic hair is like we said, down to hormones.

Girls become young women and boys become young men, racing towards a stage in life in which

together they can reproduce.

While that doesn't happen too often when they reach puberty, it can.

The age of consent usually is well after puberty in most countries, with the world's lowest

and highest being between 11 and 21, according to the organization Age of Consent.

Shockingly, the youngest mother ever on record was only five and half years old, with doctors

stating that the Peruvian girl had entered very precocious puberty.

The Huffington Post tells us the youngest father on record was an 11-year-old from New

Zealand who impregnated his school friend's 36-year-old mother.

He was also a very fast developer as most boys can't reproduce at that age.

It's also likely the young man had hair around his genitals when he slept with the

woman.

The question today is why, and not just why it actually grows, but what is the reason

for having it?

This question was posed to Men's Health magazine and the answer that came from the

expert was: "We don't really know."

The respondent, a PhD sex researcher, did offer some hypotheses.

One of these is that pubic hair might keep our reproductive organs warm.

Another was that the thicket of hair might trap pheromones – sexual signals we send

to each other – and another was that pubic hair is simply a marker that lets us know

we are able to reproduce.

In another article, The Guardian went a bit further, stating that our pubic hair has a

job to do and we should stop getting rid of it for the sake of style.

The article starts with evidence of the pubic hair grooming industry booming, stating that

the "clean and bare" look is very much en vogue these days.

Whether you take a razor to your pubes, or opt for waxing, depilatories (creams, lotions,

gels, etc) or electrolysis, some doctors say you are going to cause unnecessary irritation

to the cleared site.

This could cause bacterial pathogens to appear, or boils and abscesses, and there's a greater

chance of herpes infection on a smooth playing field, says the article.

Our bed of hair stops friction of the skin, and without it we are more likely to get infections

in the pubic area.

So, perhaps if we believe that, then one reason we have pubic hair is so it doesn't happen.

In fact, if you look at all the possible reasons out there why we have pubic hair, most experts

believe in a handful of hypotheses.

These are: trapping pheromones, unwanted friction, keeping us warm; protecting us from bacteria

and disease, and the indication that we have matured.

That seems like a good enough set of reasons, and if you think you look better without pubic

hair, you might bear in mind that by not trapping your magical pheromones, you are actually

making yourself less attractive.

If you worry about pubic lice encroaching into your nether regions, you may heed some

doctors that say while incidences of 'crabs' have gone down, chlamydia and gonorrhea infections

are up.

Indeed, The U.S. National Library of Medicine reports that a study found pubic hair removers

have a higher rate of sexually transmitted infections.

One other reason we found that may be a reason for keeping your bush growing is that it absorbs

sweat, rather than a wet patch appearing on your shorts while strutting around the gym.

In general, most of the people in the know regarding our well-being and health tell us

it's time to put the razor down and let it all hang out.

By the way, hair in the anus area is not considered pubic hair.

But if you want to know, most experts believe that is there to stop your butt cheeks from

chafing, keep us warm, and also again it traps those wonderful pheromones.

Women's health magazines also provide all kinds of tips on getting rid of this hair,

that is essentially pubic hair growing around the back.

The same methods are used for removal, but might be somewhat more difficult, dangerous,

or embarrassing for some.

With all this mind, why are so many people nowadays opting to have fashionable pubes

or going completely bald?

Women seem to be under more pressure than men, and they have a much harder time keeping

things trim.

It has for a long time been seen by many to be an ungainly sight to have hair in plain

site outside of what we call the bikini line.

Elle magazine talked about this pressure, stating in 2016 that 83% of women aged 16-24

in a survey said there was too much weight on their shoulders regarding pubic hair grooming

and removal.

Another survey taken in the UK said half of all the women they talked to under the age

of 35 got rid of their pubic hair completely.

In the USA, one study in 2016 found that 80% of women groom their pubic hair.

Elle itself interviewed its own staff and found that 95 percent of its staff trimmed

or shaved everything off.

It seems that men are less likely to shave down there, or remove everything, and on some

forums men said they did it only to make their appendage look bigger.

That said, when a study was taken which asked women about the pubic hair of the men they

had slept with, it was revealed that 90 percent of the men had done some amount of 'man-scaping'

in the pubic region.

Men of course can be hairy just about everywhere, and if they are, it seems that some women

like that and others don't, according to media that asked women the question of if

they like a hairy guy.

One Reddit post asked women what they preferred regarding men's pubic hair and just about

all the respondents said that a trim was fine, but men should not go for a full shave.

They gave a variety of reasons, but many women said it looks too childlike and some said

it doesn't feel good – on different parts of the body – when it turns into stubble.

As for the question of does shaved or trimmed hair grow back thicker?

Well, that's just another myth that has made the rounds of mankind.

No, it doesn't.

So, there you go.

All you needed to know about shaving your pubic hair.

The conclusion, it seems, is, don't do it if you want optimum health, but in terms of

what people want, it also seems a little trim now and again will keep you popular.

In the aesthetic, visual sense anyway, not in terms of how we sexually sense each other.

Wilkins Athletics & Events Center Ribbon Cutting and Court Dedication - Duration: 5:58.

it's an honor to be here at this exciting time for Shenandoah athletics

as we celebrate the opening of the James R Wilkins jr. athletic and Events Center

for those of us who have been around for a long time this is a special day this

building has been decades in the planning in the envisioning our students

have needed it for five decades now what we had before did not lend itself to

attract really high-end athletes to the University

Shingleton gymnasium it's a great little gym but it's a little gym anyone who's

been to Shingleton and doesn't appreciate that this something's wrong they're trying to

recruit ballplayers male or female to come play in that and they're playing in

gyms that are smaller than the high school gym it's hard to get them in here

the academics portion of it Shenandoah sells itself great University

outstanding academics but to have that true Division three student athlete

experience you want something like this this is certainly one of the most

impressive facilities in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference and we know

it will be a tremendous recruiting tool that will help bring in high quality

student athletes it gives a great first impression for Shenandoah and certainly

grabs the attention of the 60,000 cars that are traveling on Interstate

81 on a daily basis the Shenandoah University Board of Trustees is proud

to serve the University and support a facility that will be used by many

Shenandoah students for years to come that enhances the student-athlete

experience and then impacts the University campus and the community as a

whole I felt from the beginning that it wasn't just for the university but if we

did this right it would be a resource for Winchester and Frederick County as

well as the entire region and I certainly wanted to show my support not

just for this university itself but for athletics here because they are so

important this building is deeply symbolic it is symbolic of how far

Shenandoah has come and our trajectory we are reaching for the stars

we're not looking to be a Division one school I love Division three athletics I

played myself in college and I like Division three because of the fact you

get kids that want a good education we want to go to school then want to play

sports they played soccer in high school or played lacrosse ran cross-country they

still want to continue but they want to get an education so we're not changing

the rules we're not lowering our GPA and SAT

standards we're just trying to give the opportunity for those kids to come here

and participate and compete in the ODAC which is one of the top Division

three conferences in the country

earlier today we celebrated this occasion during our official

ribbon-cutting ceremony and now we gather to celebrate the legacy of Dave

and Kathy Dutton by naming the playing court in this wonderful facility in their

memory here we are today at 2018 he's up there smiling he probably would

have said why did it take so long they created an amazing legacy here and it's

great to see this facility come to fruition today we're honoring we're

remembering Dave and Kathy Dutton naming the court after them it's it's

powerful it's celebratory and it's also deeply sad, but their children are here

with us and this is really a symbol that Shenandoah doesn't forget its own that we are a

family we are always a family and Dave and Kathy and their children will always

be part of Shenandoah to see their impact and how it still rings true

today you know 10, 15 years later it's pretty awesome and with all the people

that came back to celebrate you know it's just a reflection of all their hard

work and you know everything they did while they were here the impact they

made in the short time they were here was amazing the fact that Dave came in with

his let's take a division three program and give it a Division one attitude and grow

it up and you could see how that was happening in the men's basketball games

with the dance team of the sensations that Kathy coached or you saw that with halftime

shootouts to get students involved in the activities and community involvement

as Dave went around and talked to the different civic organizations and got

the entire community behind shenandoah basketball and then put a good product on the

court so it became a social event to come to a basketball game and really

helped get this athletic program moving forward in right direction the right

thing to do somehow, some way is recognize Dave Dutton

all of his vision and laying the foundation 25 years ago to get us where

we are today the Shenandoah University Board of Trustees is pleased to name the

playing court in the James R Wilkins jr. athletics and event center in memory of

Dave and Kathy Dutton I'd like to think that Dave and Kathy are looking down right now with joy

and pride joy to see their four children together again on this campus to see how

they've grown matured and prospered and pride to see this magnificent facility

and see how this athletics program has grown from a seed an idea planted 30

years ago this truly is a division-one attitude

at a division three program

Trixie & Katya Quiz Each Other About Each Other with "Bestie Test(e)" - Duration: 2:29.

We've been talking all about self love.

And since Katya and I are very close -- not intimately.

We thought we'd give each other a little quiz.

This is the "Bestie Test(E)."

Now, in this game, we're going to ask each other questions.

And if we answer the same, we're besties.

First question!

As a kid, what did Trixie want to be when she grew up?

My answer was, I wanted to be a country singer.

I'm right on target with not poor.

Although, you know what, most country singers,

I'd say 9 out of 10, aren't poor.

Wait, is it -- You think

there's a gold mine here?

Country music singer?

No, it's not.

Not a match.

Where is Katya's favorite place to make whoopee?

That means "fuck."

I know it's cliche, but by the dumpster.

Aaaaah!

We're never going to win anything.

That's okay.

We don't have to win.

We just have to figure out the truth.

Okay.

I said the real thing, which is hotel room.

Oh, yeah.

That's practical.

After sex, Katya likes to...smoke.

Well, this is part two of this one, which

is just to get out.

I knew you were going to say that, too!

Because I remember we had a talk once

where you said as soon as you cum,

you're, like -- -Blowing on hot tea?

No, you're blowing on hot tea in, like,

a towel on your head pointing at the door.

Or just [imitates snoring]

Katya's best physical feature is...eye color.

Oh, thank you.

-Yeah.

They're blue green.

-I went with teeth.

-Oh, teeth, you're right.

-Because I --

Well, I just personally don't give a shit

about eyes, like, his beautiful eyes.

Who cares?

Yeah.

No, your teeth are, like, near perfect.

If he has no teeth, ooh, yeah.

-No eyes, fine.

-Fine.

What is Trixie's most annoying habit?

How much time do we have?

Maybe it's just because I don't know y--

Interrupting.

-Fuck, yeah, that's right.

-Pretty clear.

Yeah.

And especially in this context.

I was thinking a broader sense.

-All I do is yell over you.

-Well, this is just a general --

That's a little bit more specific.

Being a bitch.

It's a blanket.

It's an umbrella, catch-all.

How much does Katya sleep every night?

Knowing you...

-Yeah.

...I said six hours.

That is incredible.

I know you would go to sleep.

That is incredible.

Zero to 12, the perfect mid point.

That is a mathematical -- I have goose bumps.

I have goose bumps.

-Right?

I know.

It's like -- -Oh, my god.

Psychically linked.

The Long Island Medium, are you here?

-Oh, my God.

-That is so weird.

-Whoo!

How Disney's Anniversary Made "Something out of Nothing" - Duration: 5:32.

For this video I need you to take yourself out of the present.

These days we see every park celebrate an anniversary every five years, and it's become

so common that we really don't think twice about it.

Epcot just celebrated its 35th anniversary.

The Magic Kingdom it's 45th.

That wasn't always normal however.

In fact for many businesses and institutions it's still not normal to make a big deal

out of these in-between anniversaries.

Disney does it though, and it all started on Disneyland's 30th anniversary.

Now I might sound like a broken record to regular viewers of the channel, but when Michael

Eisner stepped in as Disney CEO in 1984, the company was not in a great spot.

They were in financial trouble, and part of resolving that meant increasing attendance

at the Disney parks.

This lead to a number of initiatives by Disney, a few of which I've done videos on.

One initiative was whipping up a celebration event where there otherwise wasn't one.

1985 was right around the corner, and that meant Disneyland was about to celebrate its

30th anniversary.

Now to be clear this wouldn't be the literal first time Disneyland celebrated one of these

in-between milestones.

15 years prior they'd celebrate their 15th anniversary.

However like the milestone itself, the celebration was fairly mild and amounted to not much more

than a few extra musical guests and a little ceremony during the summer.

That wasn't Eisner's style however.

In an unusual move that deviated from Disney's usual practice of using their own in-house

team for marketing, the new CEO turned to two of his former Paramount colleagues over

at Young and Rubicam Inc, a marketing agency in New York City.

They were given Disney's account and were put in charge of planning a five million dollar

year long campaign for the anniversary.

The concept was simple, advertise the anniversary all year long across the country, plan special

events throughout the year, and give away prizes.

Lots and lots of prizes.

Disney kicked off the year-long event with a two-hour prime time TV special in February

of 1985 that was co-hosted by John Forsythe and Drew Barrymore and highlighted all of

the prizes and events in store for the year.

It worked, because that very same month hotels in the Anaheim area began to report record

bookings, all due to the birthday celebration.

Disney partnered with General Motors and together offered perhaps more prizes in one year than

we've ever seen at a single celebration.

Every 30th guest at Disneyland that year won an unlimited use passport ticket for the park.

Every 300th guest won a Mickey and Minnie plush toy collection.

Every 3,000th guest won a special 30th anniversary wristwatch.

Every 30,000th guest won a 1985 Chevrolet Cavalier.

Every 300,000th guest won a 1985 Buick Century Custom Sedan or Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera LS

and every 3 millionth guest won a 1985 Cadillac Sedan De Ville.

As a result Disney was giving away an average of two new cars every single day that year.

That summer Disney would also celebrate the park's 250 millionth guest with perhaps

the biggest prize package that year.

On Saturday August 24th, Brooks Charles Arthur Burr of Seattle was the lucky 250th millionth

visitor, and for it he won a 1985 Cadillac Sedan de Ville, 30,000 airline miles from

PSA Airlines, a trip for two to Tokyo Disneyland, and two lifetime passes to both Disneyland

and Walt Disney World.

Oh yeah and Brooks?

He was also three years old at the time he won.

Talk about getting the most out of lifetime passes.

In addition to all of the prizes, the year long celebration was marked by a return of

the Main Street Electrical Parade, a lineup of bands every night between the end of June

and beginning of September, including musicians such as Cab Calloway, and a 24-hour celebration

on Disneyland's actual anniversary, July 17th.

During the ceremony that day 30,000 balloons were released into the sky, and the frequency

of new cars were bumped from every 30,000 guests to every 3,000 guests.

The anniversary was attended by Michael Schwartner and Christine Graes who 30 years prior were

the first two children admitted into Disneyland on it's opening day.

The anniversary was even celebrated outside of the park, with a charity concert held that

August at the Hollywood Bowl for the Los Angeles Children's Museum.

All in all, the year long event succeeded at bringing up park attendance.

That summer the one-day record of 82,000 visitors was shattered.

Even the local competition benefited, with Knotts Berry Farm seeing a rise in attendance

that they attributed to the celebration.

All this from a celebration that otherwise might have been looked over.

As one anonymous Disney executive put it when talking about the campaign: "We are making

something out of nothing.

Nobody celebrates 30th birthdays."

Yet that something out of nothing turned out to be one of the many ways in which Disney

dug itself out of financial hardship and established itself as the powerhouse it is today.

If you liked this video and want to know more about the moves Disney made in the mid 80s

to save themselves, check out Disney War by James B Stewart.

It is personally my favorite Disney history book and one of the few I make a note of re-reading

every year or so.

Rewrite The Stars (Piano/Cello Cover) -The Greatest Showman - The Piano Guys - Duration: 8:14.

That is the chair.

That's the chair right there.

This is the chair that changed my life. It's where she was sitting.

I'm saw her from the back and I was transfixed by her perfect golden hair.

When she turned around, I never believed in love at first sight until I saw Julie.

Honestly, she just must have thought I was the biggest dork.

That's the window right there, right there, that's Julie's bedroom window.

This was our Romeo and Juliet thing right here, from this sidewalk,

playing guitar up to her, throwing rocks whatever. I'd do anything to get her attention,

even make a fool of myself. You know we talked about stage fright, I think stage

fright is something everyone experiences not just stage performers.

Have you ever had that feeling when it's just that feeling in your stomach that you,

feel like you want to run but you know you can't?, that's the way I felt at this door.

This is the door of Julie's parents home,

when I came to knock on that to take her out on our first date.

I tell you that is stage fright! But, you know, I've come to love stage fright

because I feel like it's a feeling we have when

we're stretching ourselves and that's a good thing.

This is it! This is the spot right here. The spot I proposed.

Okay, it's actually like, 20 miles that way but, it was fall and it was warm,

and the waterfall was actually water instead of ice.

It's a branch in the back of my...

You know, there are moments in life that mold us, that shape us,

and this mountain is the backdrop of one of those moments for me.

This is where I proposed to Julie.

Wait! Why am I telling you all this? I think life comes at us in seasons.

I've thought a lot about this you know, when you feel like you're in winter you get that feeling,

that everything is bleak and that you've got nothing to look forward

to in the Sun is gone. It's completely overcast in your life.

Those are the times for me when I'm feeling writer's block.

I'm feeling depression. I'm feeling complete struggle just wondering,

whether I can even weather the storm.

Then, I feellike all of us have this invincible summer within us!

It's people. It's places.

It's these memories that we can draw upon that make the sunlight come out,

and to me that's what Julie is.

I look back on all the memories that we have together,

and each and every one of them coalesce and overcome all of the

difficult times in the struggle and all I think about is the love that I have

for her, who I am because of her and I wish that I could even portray with

music what she means to me. I can't there's just not music beautiful enough.

However, I want to give it my best shot.

So, for the first time in all the years of doing The Piano Guys ,

I finally get to play beside my inspiration in this video with my wife, Julie Nelson.

The Rise of the Systemic Game | Game Maker's Toolkit - Duration: 12:50.

When it rains in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, everything changes.

Rocks become slick, which makes them difficult to climb.

But Link's footsteps are hushed, making it easier to sneak about.

It dramatically boosts the damage of electrical attacks, but it turns fire and bomb arrows

into regular arrows.

Certain plants and creatures, like the electric darner, only appear when it's raining.

Human characters run for nearby cover.

Campfires sizzle out.

And you'll even find massive great puddles in certain areas - which then evaporate when

the sun comes out.

The rolling weather system in Breath of the Wild is not just a nifty visual trick, but

something that can reach out and influence almost everything else in the world.

And this is the definition of a systemic game.

As Aleissia Laidacker, a former lead programmer at Ubisoft puts it:

ALEISSIA LAIDACKER: Systemic means there's a link between all the systems in your game.

They've been developed and designed with the intention that one can influence the other.

And in the last few years we've seen an explosion of games that have this sort of

interconnectivity - from Japanese titles like Metal Gear Solid V and Zelda, to ambitious

European games like Kingdom Come: Deliverance, to smaller indie titles like Mark of the Ninja,

to pretty much everything Ubisoft's making at the moment.

Take Far Cry, for example, where much of the joy comes from the fact that not only do you

fight enemies, and not only do you fight wild animals - but enemies can fight animals.

And vice versa.

This is not a scripted encounter, hand crafted by the developer.

It's just the enemy system and the wildlife system interacting… as a tiger mauls a guard's

face clean off.

This works thanks to "awareness" and "rules".

In super simplified terms, every entity in the game has inputs, which are things it can "listen" for.

In the case of the Far Cry tiger, that might be the player, bait, fire, and enemies.

And entities also have outputs, which is when they broadcast their existence out into the

world.

If the input and the output match, and the entities can see or touch each other, a connection

is made.

And that's when a rule is followed.

In the case of the tiger and the enemy, that rule is face mauling.

But for other games, it could be that if a flame touches a wooden arrow, it sets on fire.

Or if an orange tree frog explodes near a floor tile, it's destroyed.

Or if it rains on a camp fire, it sizzles out.

So systemic games work by having all sorts of objects, characters, bits of the environment,

and game systems be aware of each other, and have rules for how to interact.

But why should we care?

What makes this style of design more interesting than games where the systems aren't so connected?

Well, one huge advantage is that the player can make interesting plans.

In a lot of traditional games, entities are only really aware of the player and not much else.

Meaning the only way to interact with an enemy is through very direct means.

A.K.A shooting them.

But because entities in systemic games are aware of so many more things, we can get to

enemies through indirect means.

Like, releasing a caged animal to have it attack nearby guards.

So a defining trait of systemic games is that you can exploit those relationships between

different entities and systems, as part of plans - which make you feel rather smart when

they come together.

Here's a good one from Watch Dogs 2.

I was getting chased by the cops, so I lead the police into gang territory, hid on a rooftop

and watched those opposing factions fight it out, and then used the distraction to high

tail it out of there and lose my wanted level.

That felt great, and a lot more interesting than just shooting a bunch of cops.

Another massive advantage of systemic design is that these games can create moments of

drama and surprise.

Such as a wild three-way tussle between the royal army, the golden path, and an angry

elephant

Again - this wasn't scripted, but something that occurred organically from a bunch of

different entities that are all aware of each other, have rules for dealing with each other,

and have found themselves in the same place.

And I think these anecdotes are cool for two reasons.

For one, they often follow a really interesting story structure as you devise a plan and try

to execute it, but a surprising chain reaction of events scuppers your plan and you must

react and adapt.

And because these anecdotes are completely unique to your experience, I think that often

makes them more special and memorable than the ultra epic moment that every single player

is going to see happen.

No one's tweeting about that, are they?

So systemic games allow the player to come up with interesting plans.

And they lead to surprising anecdotes.

And we call this stuff "emergent gameplay" - things that weren't intentionally designed

by the game's makers, but solutions and situations that emerge thanks to the meeting

of multiple systems.

That doesn't let game makers off the hook, though.

They've got to set all this stuff up, to create the possibility of emergence.

So to make this work, we need to create awareness between lots of different entities in the

game.

The more things that are aware of each other, the better.

Having characters be able to fight amongst themselves is one thing, but we can also have

enemies be able to damage the environment, have entities be aware of systems like the

day and night cycle, or - in the case of Zelda - invent a whole chemistry engine with wind,

fire, ice, and so on.

Next, we need rules that are consistent.

Because - as I talked about in the AI episode - you can only make good plans if you have

a pretty strong idea of how the system will react when you push on it.

But that means we also need rules that are universal.

Like, if some wooden objects catch on fire, then all wooden objects should catch on fire.

Any time a rule like that is broken, the believability of the world is reduced and the player is

bit less likely to experiment in future.

So to make this sort of universal connectivity easier, perhaps take this advice from Dishonored's

co-directors Harvey Smith and Raphael Colantonio.

They say that instead of having entities be able to listen for specific objects and characters

in the world, they let entities output general stimuli - like fire damage, piercing damage,

or explosive damage - and then have other things in the game be aware of those.

This layer of abstraction makes it easier to add and modify entities, and even allows

players to find connections that the designers never even thought of.

Like in Harvey Smith's most famous game, Deus Ex, where you can exploit the fact that

MIB enemies explode upon death to blow your way through doors.

This is also why you can lay metal objects on the floor in Zelda to conduct electricity

and solve some of the shrines in your own way.

It might feel a bit like cheating, but that's what makes systemic games fun.

Instead of finding the single, authored solution to a puzzle, you can use the inherent behaviours

of the game's systems to find your own way to overcome the problem at hand.

And then, if you want surprising events to happen on the regular, it's important for

the system to be somewhat unstable.

To not be in perfect equilibrium until the player comes along and pushes on it, but capable

of moving and shifting all by itself.

This can be achieved with automated systems like how the rolling weather in Breath of

the Wild can create unpredictable thunderstorms.

Or by giving AI their own goals and needs which will push them to move about and, hopefully,

into conflict with other entities.

Okay. So you've made a systemic game.

You've created connections between all the entities in your game, and they follow consistent

and universal rules of interaction.

But there's still work to do, because it's easy to screw these sorts of games up.

Many fail to truly encourage players to find these emergent solutions.

Because, despite all of the exciting opportunities afforded by a game like Metal Gear Solid V,

I ended up finishing a lot of missions by abusing the silenced tranquilliser gun.

Why risk some ridiculous plan if there's a much more reliable solution to the game's

challenges?

Hitman pushes you to be imaginative by making Agent 47 weak in a straight up firefight.

And Zelda, controversially, makes your weapon turn to dust in the hopes of pushing you to

try more creative solutions.

It's also important to give the player a whole range of ways to interact with the world,

that go beyond just killing everything.

Killing enemies essentially removes an entity from the space, which most often reduces the

possibility for systemic fun.

You want to give the player tools that let them change, or even add entities - not just

remove them.

That might mean hacking a security system to change its allegiance, or creating an inflatable

decoy to distract enemies.

Other games screw up by constraining the player's options in really linear missions.

Grand Theft Auto is a right pain for this.

Those games are filled with good systems, to ensure that the cities feel alive and realistic.

And the police wanted level is an absolute stroke of genius.

Without it, killing a civilian in GTA would have no interesting impact on the world.

But because your murder feeds into this wanted system, which sends cop cars after you, your

action actually has consequences that ripple out into the different systems in the game.

It's terrific.

But the game's main missions are often incredibly linear with scripted sequences and have all

sorts of fail states for not perfectly following the commands on screen.

Far Cry has this problem too, where the main missions are often nowhere near as much fun

as the camps - which are just open-ended testbeds for the different systems.

Making levels for systemic games is more about giving the player a goal, and not caring how

they achieve it.

They require open areas, and lots of entities that are aware of each other to create the

opportunities for good plans and memorable anecdotes.

Also, some systemic games fail to create a unique experience.

Ubisoft, bless their hearts, are trying to fill all of their games with the ingredients

for emergent thrills but the camps in Assassin's Creed Origins feel remarkably similar to those

in Far Cry 4.

So it's important to set the systems up so they deliver their own experience.

Look at the rather different Far Cry 2, where it feels like the systems - such as fire propagation

and roving bad guys - are designed primarily to whip up moments of peril and danger for

the player.

Whereas assassination simulator Hitman goes completely in the other direction, with the

focus being more on having a perfectly choreographed system, where the player becomes the spanner

in the works.

You can even imbue systems with a message, like in Mafia 3 where the police react to

crime less quickly in a black neighbourhood than a white neighbourhood.

That's a game speaking through its systems.

Now, this sort of systemic design is really nothing new.

For decades, simulation games have been using this sort of interconnectivity to mimic real

world systems.

They just happened to be games where you play as some sort of omnipotent being, looking

down on things.

And we're still seeing this sort of stuff today with games like Rimworld, and the absurdly

interconnected Dwarf Fortress.

In that game, you can have an emergent situation where cats wind up dying - because dwarves

splash wine onto them while drinking, the cats drink the wine while cleaning themselves,

and then end up dying of alcohol poisoning.

Ridiculous.

Watch this episode of Eurogamer's Here's A Thing for more on that.

But then there was the immersive sim - the genre of games like Thief and Deus Ex - where

the whole point was that they took that simulation design and put it into an immersive, first-person

game where you control a single character.

Hence, the name.

And this is a big reason why I was stoked for the comeback of the immersive sim - with

great games like Prey and Dishonored 2 - but pretty bummed out when it seemed like those

games weren't connecting with a lot of people.

Sales wise.

But now it's starting to become clear that this sort of design is popular, it just doesn't

have to be limited to that very specific legacy of games that stretches back to Ultima Underworld

and System Shock.

Whether it's big budget experiences.

Or janky European games.

Or indie titles, made by immersive sim fans.

Or - absolutely weirdest of all - the latest Legend of Zelda game, we're seeing systemic

design and emergent gameplay rise up and appear in all sorts of games.

And as someone who loves this sort of stuff - for the opportunity to make plans, and then

see them go horribly wrong - I'm very excited to see where this trend goes next.

Thank you for watching!

Systemic game design is a super complicated topic so I'm only scratching the surface

in this video.

Does Annie Love Eren Jaeger? Female Titan Attack on Titan Love Theory! - Duration: 4:44.

Did Annie really love Eren Jaeger? This could possibly be a match made in heaven!

So what's up guys Foxen here! Since today is Valentine's Day let's talk

about this very special couple. Did Annie ever have any special feelings for Mr.

Yeager? I'm actually surprised at how much I get asked about this so is there

any validity to this? Let's go ahead and delve into this. For reasons you know

about Eren and Annie do have a very special connection to each other in

attack on Titan. The two were already involved in some Titan on Titan

action that's pretty unique to them. In both of those times Annie ended up

kicking Eren's ass.Yeah both of them. Although do notice in the first time it

seemed like Annie was holding back against Eren up until the end. Could

Annie have been holding back since Eren was a special someone to her? Perhaps.

Arguably Annie did have a very special connection to Eren Jaeger. It might have

been second only to her father. So far some of the flashbacks have shown you

about Annie's relationship with Reiner and Bert, honestly the warrior trio

weren't very close at all. Annie in particular didn't seem to like Reiner so

she kept her distance from them. Without getting into spoilers Annie may have

chosen to live most of her life like this just being that lone wolf. For the

longest time Annie's only special someone in her life might have been the

connection to her father. This goes further combined with the techniques and

Annie learned and trained under him so where does Eren fit into all of this?

This actually goes back to some of the stuff that the anime cut out from the

manga. The anime shows you some early interaction between Annie and Eren. This

was when Annie handed his ass to him. The manga actually goes further to show you

Annie and Eren's bonding over this. It's actually a pretty important scene so I'm

not sure why it was cut out. It happens to be one of the few times that Annie's

seen smiling during her time inside of the walls. In fact it might have been

the only time. Is Annie competing with Levi? It is true that Eren was the one that

initiated this bonding. Eren was trying to improve himself by copying her

technique. Annie then offers to fully teach this technique to Eren, something

she holds very dear to her. Unfortunately the anime and manga don't expend on this

part. It's left just to you to wonder how much time these two actually spend

practicing this together. After all it takes a good amount of time dedicated to

training just to get close to perfecting this. Of course Mikasa didn't approve at

all. Perhaps this was even a hint at just how much time

Eren and Annie were coming in contact with each other because Mikasa straight out

tells Annie to leave Eren alone. Setting this aside for a moment what

makes this so important? It actually goes back to a character interview done with

Annie. In this she's asked about her type in guys.

Naturally Annie gives some non answer at first but then when she's asked about

whether she's never thought about finding a special someone

Annie surprisingly replies with "If I could find someone maybe this meaningless

world might become a little better." Taking this into account

perhaps Annie was unconsciously trying to find this special someone. Perhaps

this turned out to be Eren. Annie unexpectedly began to open up to

Eren. The two developed a mutual bond. Deep down inside this could have slowly

started developing into much more for Annie. Another piece of evidence for this

actually comes from the attack on Titan junior high anime. I know what you're

thinking but hear me out! The series loves to poke fun at smaller or subtle things

from the original attack on Titan series. Couples and romances were a good

chunk of this. The anime didn't shy away from showing a shy Annie towards Eren.

It goes as far as showing a love triangle of course bringing Mikasa into

the picture so could this playful series have taken a light crush and put it much

more out into the open? I think it is possible! And you might be thinking going

into the junior high anime is a stretch but the interesting part here that you

may not be aware of it's just how much this was toned down for the anime. The

junior high manga has a lot more moments playing up Annie having feelings for mr.

Yeager. This stuff is sprinkled all around from the point where Annie is

introduced into the story. They even have full chapters dedicated to this. As you

could imagine Mikasa does not approve but back to the

original question did Annie love Eren? The way I see it the seeds were

growing the potential was there. Certain events unfortunately prevented this

from blossoming into anything. Perhaps Eren truly is Annie's knight in

shining armor that one day will wake her up but hey that's just an attack on

Titan love theory? Let's go with that! more important is what you think!

Question of the day, do you think that was anything special going on between

Annie and Aaron? Or do you think Mikasa would have cut Annie before it got too

far, oh wait... Also bonus C-day question of the day, who is your favorite

unofficial attack on Titan couple? Let's see who is the most popular! By the way

it definitely gives us a colossal thumbs up and subscribe.

More attack on Titan videos are coming every week. I think so far might over 10

videos this month so far cuz who needs sleep really? Totally overrated! So

definitely subscribe for more and I'll see you guys later

In honor of black history month,

today I'm using all black-owned products.

So, let's get started.

I like your natural color on your lid,

so I don't wanna do any concealing.

- Okay.

- I really wanna go in with the color

and I wanna give you a glossy eye.

- Alright.

- Since you already have your eyeliner, your brows done,

I'm gonna show you how to easily touch up your makeup.

I'm gonna take you from a day to night look.

- I wanna know what inspired you to do makeup.

- Mm, that's an interesting story.

I always wanted to be the model and everything,

and I went to cosmetology school.

I was an assistant and this lady came in one time,

she was crying in the chair,

and I just offered to do her makeup.

And she said she didn't feel pretty or anything,

and once I turned her around she just cried even more,

like tears of joy because she felt pretty

and I was like glad, that change in people...

I wanna do it.

But I told myself if I'm gonna do it,

I'm gonna be a celebrity makeup artist.

- There you go.

- I'm gonna use the Danessa Enlight.

I'm gonna apply this right on top of your lid.

- So, what do you like most about being a makeup artist?

- Um, I get to see that everybody is human.

You know, we all have our favorite celebrity,

but at the same time they go through the same thing we do.

I like to be that person to treat them just as me,

and they appreciate that because it's honest.

Just in case you're ever on the go

and you don't have a makeup artist, use what you have.

With your shade, especially for an eye, if you're on the go,

bronzers are really fun.

Also gonna use a little bit of Danessa Myricks.

You can use that as a lip, blush, be very artistic.

I'm doing it very lightly,

but it makes the darker skin tones look rich.

Don't be afraid to use color

because the best part about makeup is you can take it off.

Make sure you always buff your neck

with the same foundation color.

I'm gonna use the bronzer, the Antoine Fleetin.

It's called Hot and Spicy,

and I always like to start at the bottom.

I love a natural look.

You can blap.

Blap for me.

(lip smacking)

Ooh, you cute!

You saw that gloss on there, it makes you look expensive,

and we all wanna look expensive.

I learned a lot of my tips

from African American makeup artists

like Sam Fine, Derrick, who does Oprah's makeup,

Sir John does Beyonce.

I look up to them because I'm like wow, we can do this.

We're doing the biggest women in the world for real.

So, if you know Michelle Obama, that's an it girl.

- Uh oh, let's see!

Hoo!

- Oh! Okay!

I'm glowin'!

- Yeah, get into it.

- Definitely like the wet look.

Ladder Stitch How to | Memory Bear Sewing 🐻 | Whitney Sews - Duration: 5:29.

Hi everyone! I'm Whitney and I post a new sewing tutorial every Wednesday to help sewers

of all skill levels learn new projects and techniques. This week I'll be showing how

to sew a ladder stitch to close up stuffed animals and other stuffed projects. This video

is part of my memory bear sewing series, so if you haven't seen the other videos in the

series yet make sure to check out the playlist linked below in the description box as well

as in the information icon in the upper corner of the screen.

The ladder stitch is a handsewing stitch that is nearly invisible and used to close up stuffed

animals, pillows, and other stuffed items. I use it to close up the legs, arms, and back

of all the memory bears that I sew.

Start by threading a needle and bringing both thread ends together and tie in a double knot.

Bring the needle up from the inside of your project a few stitches away from where your

opening begins. Then take a small stitch in one side parallel with the opening. Your needle

should be moving away from where you started. Move across the opening and take a parallel

stitch from the opposite side. It's a little hard to tell because the edge is turned under

in some spots, but I'm trying to keep my stitches consistently at about ¼ inch from the cut

edge of the fabric. Continue taking a stitch on one side then on the other and you can

start to see the 'rungs' of the ladder starting to form. After a few of stitches on each side

pull the thread so it tightens the stitches and closes up the spaces between the rungs.

I had slightly overstuffed this bear so I had to be very careful to pull the thread

gently because I snapped the thread the first time and had to start over on my ladder stitch.

This kept the stitches from closing up quite as tightly as I wanted near the top, but that

happens sometimes. After you have sewn about half of the opening

closed your ladder stitch will start staying tighter on it's own. You can adjust your stitches

if needed, making them shorter or longer or moving them closer or farther from the fabric

edge if you need to help the finished seam lay flatter.

Continue repeating the same stitches over and over until you have completely closed

up the seam. Then take a small stitch near where you finished and pass the needle through

the loop of thread before pulling it tight to make a knot. Repeat for a second knot.

Then put the needle in right by the spot you ended and push the needle back out an inch

or two away. Pull the thread tight and trim close to the stuffed animal. This gives your

thread a tail that's hidden inside so the knots won't come untied later.

I'm going to show all the steps again just to make sure everything made sense. Here I'm

sewing up one of the legs which was not overstuffed so the ladder stitch turned out a lot smoother

and nicer looking. I wanted to show both so you can see that it doesn't always turn out

absolutely perfect and that is ok. I think the person making the item is the only one

who will ever notice the imperfection anyway.

So there you have it, this is a pretty simple stitch to do and is essential to finishing

memory bears and other stuffed projects. If you want to see more of the bears that I make

you can check out my Whitney Sews Memories page on facebook that is linked below and

the rest of my memory bear series linked right over here to the side. If you haven't subscribed

yet you can do so by clicking my picture right down there. Until next time, Happy Sewing!

Alright life, slow down will ya?

Anyway,

Valentine's Day is really one of my favorite holidays.

Whether I'm in a relationship or single,

I still enjoy Valentine's Day.

The meaning of the holiday for me is loving yourself and loving others.

You can't love other people if you don't love yourself.

It's really important to love yourself so you can love other people.

And that's why I feel my definition of Valentine's Day makes sense.

Love yourself,

and love others.

I think Valentine's Day applies to both single people and those in relationships.

Some people say, "Oh, but I don't have a boyfriend,"

C'mon! There are many things you can enjoy on Valentine's Day

Treat yourself!

You deserve time with and for yourself.

Anyway, I'm really excited about this episode because

ever since I started my website, www.AidanMack.com,

I've written several posts about Valentine's Day over

the years until now where I'm finally shooting an episode on Valentine's Day

Yay!

I was thinking about what to talk about for today's episode.

I thought about St. Valentine and how this one saint made the holiday we celebrate today.

As I was doing my research, I was like,

"Unreal!"

And I wanted share it with you all.

I want to let everyone know

before I dive into the origin of the story about St. Valentine,

it's still speculations.

I just want to clear that up with you all.

I decided to pick one story I found and give you guys the full scoop about it.

Did you know there were three priests all named St. Valentine?

The first was from Rome, Italy.

The second was from former Interamna, Italy but now currently Terni, Italy.

And the third was from Province of Africa.

It's still unknown as to why the St. Valentine from Africa was killed.

There were also many other priests killed as well.

They were all martyred, which means someone who strongly believes in a

religion or idea and got killed for their belief.

All three of the St. Valentines were martyred.

Going back to the first St. Valentine from Rome,

which back at that time was ruled by King Claudius II.

He was a really horrible person.

He did awful things.

He was involved in a lot of unpopular bloody behaviors

He was involved with beheadings

and cutting off limbs

and overall involved with the slow process of torturing and killing people.

The list goes on of the horrendous things he'd done.

Anyway,

Claudius tried to recruit a lot of men to make his army strong.

But,

he had a hard time recruiting men, due to the fact that many men were

not willing to join the army because of their strong commitment to their wives and families.

Claudius was furious and decided to ban marriage altogether!

That's how St. Valentine came to be,

a priest who blatantly ignored Claudius's order.

He still continued to wed countless of couples who wanted to get married.

Claudius caught wind of this and ordered St. Valentine to be thrown in jail.

While in jail, he often saw another inmate's daughter who visited her father while he was in jail.

That inmate's daughter and St. Valentine developed a friendship.

It was then when St. Valentine knew his time was coming to an end,

and wrote a letter to his own daughter.

At the end of the letter he wrote:

"Farewell, your Valentine."

And it's because of that which made the impact of the holiday we celebrate today.

In the end,

St. Valentine was sentenced to be attacked by clubs and then beheaded.

That's what happened and why we show respect on Valentine's Day.

Another origin of Valentine's Day comes from the pagan holiday,

Feast of Lupercalia,

which basically was a fertility ritual celebration with the

goal to purify the town and avert evil spirits away.

In the hopes of people becoming more fertile and reproducing more,

which was pretty unreal to read about!

It was celebrated from February 13th to the 15th.

During the ritual they killed two goats and two puppies for sacrificial purposes.

The sacrifices were to ensure

love,

fertility,

and overall health.

After the animals were sacrificed young women were lined up,

and were hit with thongs to make sure that they were in fact fertile.

These young women really believed in the holiday

but experienced a lot of abuse and torture.

They literally had a box filled with names of young women

and would pick out names and start the ritual.

Having sex under the influence of alcohol was involved.

It wasn't nice to know that women back then were considered property and were

treated inhumanely and how long it continued until Pope Gelasius caught

wind of this and did not approve.

He decided to abolish Feast of Lupercalia,

reclaimed, changed, and announced it to be St. Valentine's Day to honor and love God,

which was his purpose as a pope.

There's a lot of talk out there that it's a possibility that the combination

of the pagans Feast of Lupercalia and the murder and beheading

of St. Valentine are the origins of the holiday today.

Unreal story right?

I hope you all enjoyed this story.

Bride's Touching Tribute To Deaf Husband Has The Entire Internet In Tears - Duration: 1:51.

Bride's Touching Tribute To Deaf Husband Has The Entire Internet In Tears

When Liz met Scott for a Tinder date two years ago, neither of them knew they would be meeting

the love of their life that night.

The pair quickly fell in love and their relationship blossomed.

There was just one thing that complicated matters – Scott is deaf – but they were

not about to let that get in the way of their love.

Scott began losing his hearing at age five and was completely deaf by the time he was

eight.

After falling for him, Liz began learning sign language so they could communicate better.

Three months before their wedding, Liz secretly began to teach herself the lyrics and signs

to their special song, Christina Perri's "A Thousand Years."

On their big day, as Scott waited at the altar, Liz began to walk down the aisle.

Then she stopped…

At first, Scott was confused, but just seconds later he realized what his bride was doing,

and that's when he began to bawl like a baby.

Liz is glad she was able to pull off the special surprise.

"I won't lie, I was terrified before walking into the ceremony," she said.

"But the moment I locked eyes with him I never looked away and it was a special moment

just between the two of us.

He held it together for a few seconds before crying the whole way through the song.

We're so glad this pair has found each other – they were truly meant to be.

Says Liz, "Even though Scott is deaf, I have never felt more heard in my life."

Now that's true love!

Were you touched by Liz's beautiful tribute to her husband?

Then share it!

Sales Collective Haul - Haul collettivo saldi feat. Zara, H&M, Primark - Duration: 11:43.

>> Hi ya'll and welcome or welcome back to my channel

I'm coming back at you with a dear old haul video

our beloved haul videos which were missing for a while

the sad thruth is that I actually bought the clothes that I'm going to share with you

quite a long time a go, during the sales in January,

but I could never find the time to film this video

and I didn't want to wear these pieces before I had filmed this haul

which soon became a torture, because I don't know about you

but when I buy new clothes I can't wait to wear them

and they've been sitting here for a while now

so I'm really happy I can finally film this video and start to wear them right after

the majority of the pieces are from Primark with a few ones from H&M and Zara too

and I bought them all during the sales

so I really hope they are still available in stores

ok, enough with the intro and let's jump and do this as I really look forward showing you what I bought

as there are some cute pieces, let's start with H&M

in my last trip to H&M I bought this peculiar see-through polka dots dress

it has bell sleeves and it's all flowy and cute, I paid it

39.99 euro

I haven't worn it yet, exactely as all the other clothes, except one item

which I did wear

I plan to wear this layered with leggings and a top or with a pencil dress

because it's definitely see-through

but I liked the idea of this cute and unsual flowy dress

The second item I got from H&M and the only one I have already worn

is this faux suede skirt

it's kind of 60ies/70ies looking, I don't know how to define it

it has these cute buttons in the front

that go from top to bottom and it's quite short

with a zip on the back

I like to wear it with a maxi sweater to create some contrast

and in fact I already worn it, but I swear it's the only one in this haul

That's it for H&M, now let's move to Zara which includes only one piece

a maxi dress

I love Zara's maxi dresses, I own other two

and one of them is my all times favorite

I bought it 2 years ago

and this is my new purchase and it's still inside out since I tried it on in the shop

I'll definitely have to iron it, great!

anyway as you can see is chequered, black and grey

it's quite basic, with this cute faux suede belt

it's very long and I love to wear it almost as a coat, paired with a pencil dress

or with leggings and I keep it open

and as I'm not very tall maxi dresses may often not be flattering on me as they make me look even shorter

while I like how these Zara's ones fit, I paid it 49.95 euro

I'm not sure this is the sales price, but that's all I can say

That was the Zara's maxi dress, now let's move to the rest of the pieces which are all from Primark

I'll grab the first thing I reach and it's this creased t-shirt

I fell in love with it at first sight

it says don't worry bee happy, with a cute bee made of rhinestones

it's a basic t-shirt, but I love the graphic

and lately I've been loving to wear basic t-shirts tucked in my skirts with a chunky cardi on top

it's a look I love and I paid this one

10 euro

Primark prices are unbeatable

let's get something else and it's a velvet dress

in this ...

oil green shade with floral print

it's an A line dress, as you know I love me some A line dresses

it comes with bell sleeves

it's quite simple, comfy to wear and perfect to pair with

thick tights and a chunky cardi

and I can't wait to wear it, this is one of the pieces I was looking foward to wear the most

I paid it 16 euro

Primark prices though

let's get another item

a sweater which I thought was interesting because it's basic but the peculiarity are

these cute bell sleeves

I hope you can see that while I wear it

it has a tight fitting and it comes in this light grey shade

it's easy to wear in many different ways and it's also super soft

for some reason the tag got lost

so let me check the price on the bill

yep, it's this one and I paid it 10 euro, another bargain

let's move on and I randomly bought some cozy socks

because in Wintertime I love to keep my feet warm with these super soft kind of socks

there's no need to open the package as they are quite basic cozy socks

I paid them 3 euro

Let's get going and here I have a pajama

let's see if I can grab both pieces, yes I did it

I don't know if you are aware of this but I'm a huge Harry Potter fan

if you watch my videos you probably know it because I've talked about it before

so when I saw this Harry Potter pajama in Primark I couldn't resist it

the pants are tight and elasticated at the bottom

they are striped in white and burgundy

here at the top it says 1972 and I don't get that, but there are also some Harry Potter references,

and it's paired with this t-shirt

with the Gryffindor emblem, team Gryffindor

I think it's cute, comfy and I can't wait to wear it too

I forgot to say the prices, let's see...

10 euros for the pants and ...

where is the tag?

here it is, 8 euro for the top

super cute

I love Primark pajamas and then ...

I only have 2 more pieces

this is a maxi sweater

it's oversized and black

with this braided pattern, 2 big pockets

it's a piece that I wear a whole lot in Winter

I layer it over a pencil skirt or leggings and I love it because it's comfy and cozy

and perfect to wear both at the office or to run errands

an easy piece to style and I paid it 18 euro

and last but not least I have another dress, which is inside out again

let me turn it around

and I'll try to show it properly

here it is!

it's a lace dress, with see-through bell sleeves

while the rest is lined, the neckline is round

it's tighter at the waist and more flowy at the bottom

it's a midi dress and I love it, it also has this little ruffle around the sleeve

I love lace dress in general, so when I spotted this one I knew I had to have it

I paid it 16 euro

and those were all of my sales purchases that I finally managed to share with you

I hope that you liked this haul and that it maybe inspired you

if these specific items shouldn't be available anymore I'm sure you can find similar ones in store or online

I'll try to link as many as possible on my blog

be aware that Primark doesn't sell online though and the majority of the pieces were from Primark

Anyway check my blog as I'll try to link as many as possible

and if you enjoyed this video don't forget to give it a thumbs up so that I will know it

let me also know if you bought any nice pieces recently

leave it in the comment because as you know I'm a shopaholic and

I'm always looking for new cute things to see and possibly buy

That's it for today, if you haven't yet I invite you to subscribe to my channel

in order not to miss any new video and if you wish you can also

click on the bell icon to receive a notification everytime I upload a new video

anyway I remind you that I upload every Wednesday, so keep it in mind

That's really it for today, I send you a huge kiss and I'll see you in my next one, ciao!!

BOMBSHELL: Comey Held Secret Obama White House Meeting Just Before The Inauguration - Duration: 3:06.

BOMBSHELL: Comey Held Secret Obama White House Meeting Just Before The Inauguration.

FBI Director James Comey held a secret Oval Office meeting with President Barack Obama

two weeks before Trump's inauguration and may have deliberately misled Congress about

it, according to an email sent by National Security Advisor Susan Rice that GOP Sens.

Chuck Grassley and Lindsey Graham partially unclassified.

The meeting — which Comey never previously disclosed to Congress — occurred in the

White House on Jan. 5, 2016.

It included Obama, Vice President Joe Biden, Rice deputy Attorney General Sally Yates,

and Comey.

The topic of the meeting was potential Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election.

By failing to inform the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence about the meeting in his June

8, 2017, testimony, Comey may have deliberately and intentionally misled Congress about his

interactions with the former president, especially a meeting so close to Trump entering the White

House.

"President Obama had a brief follow-on conversation with FBI Director Comey and Deputy Attorney

General Sally Yates in the Oval Office," Rice wrote in an email written the day before

the inauguration.

The National Archives gave Grassley and Graham "classified and unclassified emails" about

the meeting.

Previously, Comey contended he only met with the Obama twice, once in 2015 and another

"to say goodbye in late 2016," according the former FBI director's June 8, 2017,

testimony before the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence.

"I spoke alone with President Obama twice in person (and never on the phone) – once

in 2015 to discuss law enforcement policy issues and a second time, briefly, for him

to say goodbye in late 2016," Comey's opening statement read.

Grassley and Graham stated on their websites they "were struck by the context and timing

of this email, and sent a follow up letter to Ambassador Rice."

"It strikes us as odd that, among your activities in the final moments on the final day of the

Obama administration, you would feel the need to send yourself such an unusual email purporting

to document a conversation involving President Obama and his interactions with the FBI regarding

the Trump Russia investigation," the two senators told Rice.

"In addition, despite your claim that President Obama repeatedly told Mr. Comey to proceed

'by the book,' substantial questions have arisen about whether officials at the FBI,

as well as at the Justice Department and the State Department, actually did proceed 'by

the book,'" they continued.

Rice is scheduled to testify before the Senate Committee on the Judiciary on Feb. 22.

Grassley co-authored the letter to Rice as chairman of the Senate Committee on the Judiciary

and Graham as chairman of the Subcommittee on Crime and Terrorism.
