Black Panther.
There's been a lot of talk around this character and a lot of question following through.
Common questions being those that circulate on attributes of strength on the character,
and more on what has Black Panther done.
I'm going to be answering these said questions since I hold a lot of interest in both Black
Panther and Marvel as a whole.
So, let's do this.
I'd go into a small biography of Challa's character, but I'm sure you'll seen enough
of that every where.
Here's some side notes though.
The man has Ph.D in Physics from Oxford, was the best in every sport, has advanced computer
skills, knowledge in genetics, and physiology, and to finish it off, he has respect from
Doom.
Which means he's basically God since Doom usually respects only Doom.
Now, to get onto his strength.
As a fighter, there's a certain category for characters around the level of Black Panther.
That level being around the area of people like regular Iron Man, Magneto, and Captain
America.
The levels in strength differ extremely between the characters mentioned, and that's because
this focuses on everything about the character.
On terms of strength, I'd think that you'd be able to put Black Panther around Captain
America and Wolverine.
To start this off, we have Black Panther Volume 2, issue 1.
This is where Black Panther opens with a clean takedown of a 5-ton Black Rhino.
This was while the Rhino was mid-charge and with no extra gadgets besides the suit to
do so.
In Black Panther: Jungle Action Volume 2, issue 8, Black Panther throws a spear through
a solid stone wall hard enough to for the debris to act like shrapnel.
In Black Panther: The Man Without Fear, Volume 1, issue 523, Black Panther punches the American
Panther so hard he the impact that his body makes when it hits the wall craters it.
Now, all the feats mentioned so far would just put Black Panther around the strength
of someone like Batman or Captain America, which is just.
The thing with the next feat, I'm not exactly sure on what led up to this and how it happened.
So, in Avengers Volume 5, issue 43, Black Panther breaks right through a barrier that
Superior Iron Man could not break.
The thing with this, I wasn't exactly sure on how Iron Man is doing.
His form looks beaten down, so I'm not sure how to view the feat on it's own, especially
since the suit was symbiotic, so I wasn't sure on how it
was beaten down.
I was checking through a lot of these Avengers issues and the Superior Iron Man series but
didn't find anything.
I'm sure that someone knows.
Now going on into his Speed.
Again, this is a lot of the same feats you would see with a regular hero, aside from
certain notable things with against other heroes.
Black Panther has multiple bullet dodging feats, but I usually see those feats as minimal
since that's due to the shooter's timing unless it's point-blank range.
He had also ran laps around a Super Skrull who had been a Luke Cage / Wolverine / Iron
Fist / Bullseye form.
Being able to do things like catching throwing knives right before the make contact, but
he was completely unphased the whole time.
This happened in Black Panther Volume 4, issue 40.
In Marvel Team Up, issue 87, Black Panther catches Spider Man for the first time.
It looks like it had just happened through Black Panther being very vigilant, but then
it happens again.
Along with catching Spider-Man, he's also put the hands on Wolverine a few times too,
but Spider-Man is faster than Wolverine so I should've mentioned that before.
One hugely notable thing that Black Panther has done was in Fantastic Four, issue 545.
While what happens after is completely off doesn't apply, Black Panther was able to
nab Silver Surfer's board after the Silver Surfer had been knocked off by the Human Torch.
Which means that the board still had ongoing momentum, and this momentum was coming from
an extremely angry Silver Surfer.
This momentum had made Human Torch bend backwards to dodge this board.
Don't see this as Silver Surfer going his highest speed though, because if he was to
do so, everyone would be dead right then and there.
Now, onto Durability!
Starting it off with knives not working at all on him.
I don't think that's a surprise due to the vibranium, I'm sure that this is expected.
He also has extremely strong psychic and magical resistance.
The example of psychic resistance being Original Sin, issue 4.
And the example of magical resistance being Black Panther Volume 5, issue 10.
To make his body and spirit stronger, he takes on Wakanda's strongest.
That attempt had succeeded, and he developed a magical resistance there.
And to run through the final ones.
He had taken a point-blank explosion with about 6 sticks of dynamite, fought against
a possessed Iron First and rolled with the punches, took a blast from Phoenix Force Namor,
and fought against extremely strong mind drugs.
Always say no everyone, unless it's a matrix type deal.
Now, we had gone through all physical attributes about the Panther, so now it's just about
everything else about him.
One thing that I would love is that if people were to give Black Panther the credit he deserves
when on the topic of intelligence both in Marvel and in general with the world of fiction.
The man is feared by Iron Man, especially since he's Black Panther has been him multiple
times.
He's can create these complex devices with items that can be found at a department store,
for example creating a device that reverse the polarity of incoming electrons.
He had also replicated tech created by Doctor Doom from Fantastic Four, issue 57.
This technology has the ability to steal power cosmic from the Silver Surfer.
Power cosmic being limitless godly cosmic energy.
This happens in Fantastic Four, issue 546.
It says a lot about Black Panther being able to recreate tech from Doom, but it says even
more about Doom being able to do things like that.
Black Panther also pulls a Batman by keeping tabs on everyone, even beings like Galactus.
There's a lot more that Black Panther has done and is capable of, but I think this is
a good area to finish what I have here.
If you hold a lot of respect for a character like Batman, I'm sure you'll like Black
Panther.
I'm not going to pick points on writing since I enjoy both, but I will say that I
always feeling like I'm getting more when reading any comics that happen to involve
Black Panther.
It's almost in the same way that I feel about everything when reading up on Doom.
