Gwilym Pugh was a 21-year-old businessman man who started a successful insurance company

in his spare bedroom.

However, working from home and injuries made him gain a lot of weight.

280 pounds, to be exact.

But his life-damaging lifestyle changed after his barber urged Gwilym to grow a ginger beard!

"At that time I was pretty overweight, working 12 hours a day, plagued with injuries which

meant I couldn't train at all," the Welshman told Daily Mail.

"The business was doing okay, but I decided I needed to get my life in order and wanted

to get healthy again."

Gwilym and his friends formed a folk band several years ago.

His barber advised him to grow some facial hair to look the part.

In line with his new look, the freshly-baked musician decided to expand his transformation

cleaning up his diet.

The biggest change, however, was quitting his desk job.

"It was the best thing for my health as I stopped sitting for nine to 10 hours a day,"

the man who lost 90 pounds over five years explained.

As he was shedding weight and growing his beard, Gwilym created an Instagram account.

Eventually, Welsh tailor Nathan Palmer stumbled across it, and things began escalating really

fast.

Now, Gwilym is part of the London agency AMCK Models.

He has worked on campaigns with Vans, Bud Light, Diesel, and other big names.

His hard work even allowed him to become an ambassador for David Beckham's new male

Tests Reveal Where �Elongated Heads Came From�

� In 1928, archaeologist Julio Tello discovered more than 300 odd skeletal remains in a complex

grave system on the desert peninsula of Paracas, on the southern coast of Peru.

The skulls were unusually elongated.

These became known as the �Paracas skulls�.

� The Paracas History Museum, in conjunction with the Peruvian Government, recently conducted

DNA tests on these Paracas skulls.

They scientists have now concluded that these skeletons are from another human sub-species

that first emerged from the area of the Caucasus Mountains between the Black Sea and the Caspian

Sea, where other similar skulls have been found, 3,000 years ago.

The museum�s director, Brian Foerster, has accepted that they are human in origin, and

they somehow migrated to Peru.(see 6:05 minute YouTube video below)

� Foerster goes on to say that the Paracas skulls are �� structurally different and

only have one parietal plate as opposed to the two normally found in human skulls.

�You could say, in some ways� they were a mix or� hybrid of different people.�

But it is certain that the skulls� elongation is due to genetics and not by intentional

cranial deformation by intentional binding, because the cranial volume of the Homo-Sapiens-Sapiens-Paracas

is 25 per cent larger and 60 per cent heavier than that of a conventional human skull.

� [Editor�s Note] It sounds like these mainstream scientists concluded that this

had to be a new human sub-species indigenous to the Earth according to the generally accepted

scientific principle that there�s no such thing as extraterrestrials.

Nothing in the given evidence contradicts the theory that they could be remnants of

an Anunnaki species that was stranded on the Earth after the pole shift in 12,000 BC that

shifted Atlantis to the South Pole to become Antarctica.

This makes more sense than a wildly deformed human sub-species that migrated 15,000 miles

from the Caucuses eastward to Peru at the beginning of the Iron Age.

Researcher Brian Foerster initially thought the discovery would not fit into the �known

evolutionary tree�.

The Paracas skulls were discovered on the desert peninsula of Paracas, on the southern

coast of Peru, by native archaeologist Julio Tello in 1928.

In 2015, discussing earlier DNA tests on the remains, he said: �The mitochondrial DNA

(from the mother) presented mutations unknown to any man, primate or any other animal and

the mutations suggested we are dealing with a completely new human-like being, very distant

from Homo sapiens, Neanderthals or Denisovans.

�I am not sure it will even fit into the known evolutionary tree.�

Research by skeptics later uncovered that those involved had a history of involvement

and belief in research into paranormal subjects such as the Yeti and so-called alien hybrids,

an alleged cross breed between humans and aliens.

Skeptics argue the skulls are just another example of intentional cranial deformation,

as seen among many ancient South American tribes.

Now Mr Foerster, who is director of the Paracas History Museum, has released details of DNA

tests he said were carried out in conjunction with the Peruvian Government and he appears

to now accept they were probably human in origin.

In two video updates about the DNA, Mr Foerster made no mention of extraterrestrials.

He described how the Paracas skulls appeared to share DNA links with other elongated skulls

found between the Black Sea and the Caspian Sea.

Mr Foerster believes the elongation is not just caused by artificial cranial deformation,

but rather by genetics with some of the elongated skulls cranial volume being up to 25 per cent

larger and 60 per cent heavier than conventional human skulls.

He says this means that they could not have been intentionally deformed through head binding

or flattening, as cranial deformation can change the shape but does not alter the volume

or weight of a skull.

Speaking at the Elongated Skulls Symposium in Los Angeles, Mr Foerster said: �What

it does show for sure is that the Paracas elongated skull people were not 100 per cent

Native American.

�They were a mix or even you could say, in some ways, a hybrid of different people.

�Their blood types are very complicated as well, they should be blood type O if they�re

100 percent Native American and that�s not the case.

�We are likely looking at a sub-species of humanity as regards to the Paracas.

It seems to be a lot of DNA evidence from extreme eastern Europe and extreme western

Asia.

�More specifically I�m talking about the area in between the Black Sea and the Caspian

Sea where ancient elongated skull people lived I think about 3,000 years ago.

�So I think we are looking at a migration pattern starting in the Caspian Black Sea

area and then entering through the Persian Gulf and then moving eastwards eventually

winding up on the coast of Peru.�

He added: �It appears that the largest elongated skulls on the planet have been found, A in

Paracas, Peru and B in the Caucasus area in between the Black Sea and the Caspian Sea.

�So my theory is that there was a sub-species of human which we are going to be eventually

calling Homo-Sapiens-Sapiens-Paracas, and they were living in the area in between the

Caspian and Black Sea.

�They were invaded by somebody and so they were forced to flee.�

Archaelogist Mr Tello found more than 300 of the odd skeletal remains in a complex grave

system in 1928.

Scientists say it was the most extreme example of skull elongation, a deformation practice

carried out by several ancient cultures by binding infants heads through pieces of wood,

ever found.

Many conspiracy theorists remain convinced they must have been the skulls of

visiting aliens.

And no, it wouldn't hurt.

You wouldn't feel anything.

Firing a gun in space would actually be a lot more effective than firing one on earth.

On our big blue planet, we have an atmosphere.

Air creates friction and slows down bullets as they travel.

But there is no atmosphere, and definitely no air in space, meaning the range of a bullet

is essentially infinite.

That being said, Bullets do not travel faster in space, they simply keep going forever,

unless something comes between the bullet and its path.

Because the universe is expanding at a rate of 200 kilometers or 124 miles per second,

the bullet would only be able to reach a speed of 1 kilometer per second or 0.2 miles per

second.

Along with no oxygen, There is also no sound in space, so you would not hear a gun shot.

Another thing that would be different is the shape of the smoke coming from the gun.

A sphere of smoke would expand from the tip of the barrel.

That's according to astronomer Peter Schultz.

But you must be careful about firing guns in space.

Just so you know for your next trip to space.

If you are firing a bullet near an object with intense gravity, there is the chance

that the bullet will be pulled in to gravity of the object, go into orbit, and then go

back around to hit you in the back.

Or the butt.

This would only happen if you aimed a gun directly horizontally at the right attitude.

Here's another scenario, if you shot a gun and you were floating next to Jupiter, the

sheer size of Jupiter would suck a bullet into orbit even if it was badly aimed.

The bullet would redirect toward Jupiter, and follow a curved path.

It would get faster and faster, and reach speeds of 60 kilometers a second.

Firing a gun in space probably isn't something you or anyone you know would ever do, but

we hope this video has helped you imagine what would happen.

While the proponents of the new forms of digital wealth called cryptocurrencies claim the decentralization

of wealth will be positive development for future uptopian socities, cryptocurrencies

aren�t without their downsides.

And conspiracy theories, of course.

I recently had a friend explain to me how cyrptocurrencies were part of a massive global

consipracy to more quickly exhaust the planet�s supply of fossil fuels in order to force a

transition to renewable energy.

While that one is likely best saved for the tin foil hat pile, it is true that the demand

for resouces fueled by cryptocurrency mining has had some unforeseen consequences.

For one, prominent astronomers involved with the search for extraterrestrial intelligence

are claiming that cryptocurrencies are seriously hindering the search for alien life, according

to a new report published by the BBC.

Will the cryptocurrency phenomenon prevent us from ever locating our cosmic neighbors?

Several astronomers and scientists told BBC News that the cryptocurrency craze is affecting

how they are able to conduct their research.

SETI astronomer Dan Werthimer says that the demand for certain computer components has

soared in recent months thanks to the buying frenzy sparked by cyrptocurrency miners, limiting

the amount of available technology for use in the search for aliens:

We�d like to use the latest GPUs [graphics processing units]� and we can�t get �em.

We�ve got the money, we�ve contacted the vendors, and they say, �We just don�t

have them.� That�s limiting our search for extra-terrestrials, to try to answer the

question, �Are we alone?

Is there anybody out there?� This is a new problem, it�s only happened on orders we�ve

been trying to make in the last couple of months.

Scanning the cosmos for unnatural or anomalous signals requires massive amounts of computing

resources, and unfortunately so does mining for fake digital money.

And we all know which one takes precedence, right?

Looks pretty sustainable to me.

Sure, looks pretty sustainable to me.

Greed.

Greed ruins everything.

Science always takes a back seat to the love of money.

We could all enjoy a pretty nice place here on Earth, but the greed of a select few means

most of us have to toil in the gutter for whatever scraps are left over.

Of course, those are admittedly pretty nice scraps for some of us � but for far from

all of us.

Can anything be done, though?

History teaches us that societal inequality might be a constant among human civilizations

� at least until we invent replicators in the 24th century.

While cryptocurrencies might have been invented with democracy in mind, they�re proving

that greed will be greed in whatever new form it takes.

from the Capitol building itself.

Founded in 1867 and named for a previous owner, the pharmacy predates penicillin, the American

health insurance system, and even the Lincoln Memorial.

This is no judgment on individuals who take medications, as the openness to treatment

to enhance life is a gift of living during a time of current medicine.

This involves perceiving your constraints and recognizing a condition and not keeping

up an effective position only for control or any reason that could trade off execution

and basic leadership capacities.

These are normal desires of individuals in lesser limits of any industry, even outside

of governmental issues that influence the heading of our nation.

All the more critically, this medication medical condition circumstance brings the requirement

Actually a huge disappointment to me

Personally not that there isn't a spinster villain

But disappoints me is that there wasn't any big

Speedster centric episodes so for the season which I know many people disagree me on since I'm with the unpopular opinion

That's avatar would actually still have a great season if the story was better it had more information that wouldn't leave any

Plot holes behind for nerds like us to speculate their meanings and try to explain them to others in herself for honestly

That's just my opinion, and he had every right to disagree me

But this makes me very excited for this episode as we are going to have a speedster centric episode finally

Now getting back on the topic of this video the following synopsis for the flash season 4 episode 15 states

but you're still very possible, but that speculation is very unlikely to actually occur on the show and

the reason I think belated suggested cooking cake itself is possibly because

Barry is unable to enter flash him himself for as long as he needs

And I also think it's a think like he's using follow to create a massive explosion

Chatty Sketchbook Tour · Learning To Love My 'Mistakes' - Duration: 13:04.

Hey guys welcome back to my channel! Today I wanted to share with you my

completed and Mossery sketchbook. According to my 'first impressions' video, I started

this sketchbook in June 2017, it was sent to me by Mossery

[Background Noises]

And it's not my favourite completed sketchbook so far in terms of what's in it but I like it for

what it was in terms of me figuring out along the way how I wanted to be using a

sketchbook and just trying different things out. So you'll see what I mean once I

get into it. And obviously the front is monogrammed with my name and I'll have a

link below to where you can buy these for yourselves. This sketchbook is a

little bit of everything I want a sketchbook to be for me. If you saw my

first impressions video, I was really excited about these pages right at the

beginning where they have space where you can write your goals and purposes

and just brainstorm ideas. I was really excited to use these and I didn't and I

wish I had but I think my expectations for this sketchbook turned out to be

quite different to what I ended up with. It ended up being a kind of hold-all for

things like the souvenirs, memories, rough sketches, ideas. So to start with it's

just these drawings of all the different things I packed when I went to a music

festival back in July of last year; the clothes I wore and just the things

that were in my rucksack I would carry around with me in the day. This is

from the same trip, this was our campsite. I actually have a vlog on this if you

are interested in watching that. Just a few patterns and things I saw. I did this

in gouache. And then just like different faces, still from the festival,

different performers. And this is where I just stuck in the little train

ticket from the miniature railway. This was my first time trying my more kind of

minimal painting style on faces and didn't turn out great but it was a good

start and you'll see pretty soon where I ended up with that. This was just the

festival wristband as well. This sketchbook doesn't have the flow that I'd normally

like for a sketchbook, I don't normally use a wire-bound sketchbook. Other than that

it worked out really well; the paper's great for everything that I used it for;

ink and gouache and watercolors and pencils but I don't know if I would go

back to using a wire-bound sketchbook. It just doesn't translate well with my art.

I like to have things flowing across the page and you'll see with this one, things

feel a lot more stiff and stunted in here. Here I was just looking at- I like

the really gormless faces in Renaissance paintings so I just wanted to draw a

couple of those and I might come back to this idea. This is what I was

talking about with that painting style. Now this one turned out pretty badly, I

think I picked the wrong colours for this but with this one, I overworked it a bit

so it doesn't look as good as it did when I first started with it but I got

more of a sense of just laying down paint in a few blocks at a time, looking

more abstractly at the plains of the face and the different colours that you

can find in there. So even though it's kind of muddy and a bit of a mess and

it's not finished, this was kind of a turning point for me from those last

ones. I've got to know that technique a little bit more and also in terms of

developing my art and like developing myself as an artist in this sketchbook, my

attitude and approach to this one that didn't turn out great was a lot

different because I was more just in this to enjoy the process of painting and it

was like I asked my sketchbook a question like 'if I put this colour and

this colour together in this way, what's going to happen ?' and this is the answer.

So I'm not I'm not mad at this. I don't hate it.

And I can look at that with an appreciation that I normally wouldn't

just in terms of what I learned through painting this. Also my sketchbooks aren't

in order so this is actually the last page that I did in

here. Then we're going back to July here . So

this was the Lambeth country show. You can see this in the same vlog that I

would have put in the cards earlier. Drew some sheep, I really like this one.

And for these I used coloured pencils and I think probably

watercolors over here and then my Zig clean color real brush pen over here.

Then over here I had just seen War for the Planet of the Apes so I decided to draw

that and then in this pocket- this page is like a collection of different times,

different memories- so I just made a pocket here for... train ticket to Ifield,

this was sent by one of you guys. This is Ozzy's graduation ticket and then also

the flyer for one of my sister's roller derby games that I went to. And just here

I wrote a quick summary of all those things and what they are and what they

mean. These are the houses that you've seen me draw when I was working on building

commissions and this was another more recent page, another shift in my approach

to sketchbooking, where I got an idea and I just went with it. I didn't look at

pictures, I didn't think about it too much, I just thought 'I want to draw some

eyeballs' and I did. And you can see from the start- so I started on this one and

kind of worked my way around- and I think by the end I had more of an idea of what

style I wanted. I used a gouache for these two as well watercolour for most of them

but along the way I realized the kind of style that I wanted it to be in and I

think you can see a real difference from this one to this one. But I really

enjoyed this and I kind of feel like these would make great stickers or

something. This is one of my journal pages in here. Again I have a

video on that so if you want to see it in more detail you can check that out.

Over here another random idea that I just decided to do while it was fresh in

my brain. These are some paint swatches. I've got

some different wall paint colors that I want to try out in my room and I thought

I would swatch them in here first just to see what they're looking like. I

thought they were went really nicely together. Okay so here we're going back

in time again, this was- I don't know why I did this but I wanted to test out the

like one stroke painting style of flowers that you see a lot in Asian art

so these were some peonies I did and just a few different trials... you know, how

wet it would be on the page and then I had a few random drawings and other

sketchbooks or like scrap pieces of paper of peonies that I'd drawn-

a tattoo design practice, so I stuck those in as well. And then as it goes

along you can see little pig faces creeping in because again it was just a

random idea and I thought 'what would it look like if there was a little pig face in

there' so I painted those. And I wanted to develop that into proper painting and I

was looking at how I could fit that in, different colour ideas, also tried

casein for the first time here. But then if you remember around that time I think

I might have it in a vlog as well, I kind of chickened out of the pig idea- I thought

it was a bit weird- and I just went with straight peonies which turned out to be

a really nice idea. I really like this and these are just a couple of miss-prints

from my shop that I stuck in to keep as a memory of that progression

from the idea to what it turned into.

This this is just a random page of sketches that ended up turning into a

painting. These I have a video on as well. My minimal landscapes. And this is more

of a journal page again where I went to see Lady Day at the theater and just

tried to capture some of the atmosphere from that night which was an amazing

amazing show. So here I'm going back to the Pig idea and I just really roughly

sketched out a few ideas for different poses for the pigs and this is where

you'll see how I ended up with my pomegranate pig. So it started out as a

little sketch over here that I turned into a more detailed sketch, then I

tested out colours for the painting, just a few

different combinations, taking notes here and there, just keeping a record

of how I was thinking at that time what I was feeling and what

decisions I was making. I tried drawing a few flowers and then, the real turning

point for me with that was painting this pomegranate. I loved how

this turned out, I loved the style of it so I thought I want to take that forward

into the finished painting. I wasn't sure if it was the colours that I liked so I

just kept a little record there of the different colors that I'd use and then I

tried painting flowers in that way. These are the flowers of the pomegranate plant.

They're gorgeous and I wanted to try different ways of getting just a pop of

color and vibrancy through them and still have my line work coming through.

So these were just a few different bits of trial and error with paint

consistency, pencil, I used pastel for some of them, and also different colours that I

might want to use and then I ended up on just some scrap paper again drawing out

all the line work together and the final colours I decided on. This was my test of

painting out the colours all together and from that I realised that I didn't want

to have the pig red, I wanted it to be pink just a little to stand out more

so this down here is just another little misprint that I stuck in to see how the

plans turned into the finished piece. And then on the next page is how it actually

turned out looking and just a few notes that I'd made along the way that I again

cut out of some scrap paper and stuck in. And then this- really random- is from when

I was doing my paint pouring; a couple of people were saying it was a waste to

have so much pouring into the bottom but the thing is that when you have it

pouring into plastic you can actually peel that off and use it for different

things. I've seen people make like jewellery out of it. I just thought it'd be

nice to cut it out and stick it into my sketchbook. And this is one of those

really rough pages. This was during inktober and I've just used this

sketchbook basically of scrap paper to map out different ideas. So this was the

lagoon creature page; I wanted to test some of the tonal values and see if I

could make it all fit together well without everything getting lost in there

and I just wanted to also see about mixing blue and black ink and how well

that would work. And then this was the dragon house and

it turned out a lot better on this texture paper than it did in my inktober

sketchbook. You can see a lot more of the scale texture of the dragon than I got

in the final piece. But this was just my first time trying this technique so I

wanted somewhere to quickly see how that would turn out. Over here, another rough

page. I just wanted to look at some figure studies. This was one of those

days where I really just needed to draw something and this was an easy thing to

go to. This day I was drawing chickens and that turned into this drawing which

turned into this painting. I made 18 prints of this for my patrons, I had 17

go out and then this one I kept for myself. And then this this was another

random idea; just a painting for the sake of doing something kind of thing. So I

just drew a little fireplace and then painted it all from imagination. I quite

like how that turned out so I might do more things like that. And then we're at

the end- which was actually the first page that I did in here- which is when I

was testing out a few different media to see how this sketchbook took to them and

I have a video of the process of this and how I found the paper held up which

I'll have linked somewhere on screen and down below. And then right at the back

it's actually where I keep all the letters that I get from you guys like

throughout the course of having a sketchbook because I love going back

through old sketchbooks and I also love getting letters from you guys and it's

nice to have it all in one place. Each sketchbook represents a

chapter of my life and it's nice to have a little record of all the things I get

from you guys in there.

And for some reason, I really like to keep the envelopes as well. And then this

one is actually from Autumn who made my next sketchbook so I'll have a link to

her below. You'll probably have seen that sketchbook by now, I should be using it

But... honestly... I didn't imagine Soohyun and I were in the same group.

He was good at singing, so I thought...

I was a little surprised

But... bit by bit Soohyun and I became friends

He became a true older brother to me

He thought of me... led me...

He was a really lovely hyung

Eli... is another member I saw for the first time as a trainee

He seemed bright, joked around, and showed strength/resilience...

Like... American. He was an "American boy"

So the two of us were able to speak English together

He was the member I made friends with the fastest.

We showed affection

That's why fans named us 'Elvin' couple

Kiseop was... not an original member of U-KISS

We were acquainted, however...

we didn't talk very much.

Kiseop was really good-looking

Before we started talking, he seemed a bit... cold-hearted?

He seemed like a typical handsome guy

So I thought... what can I do (about this situation)...

How could I speak to him...

But as the members spent more time together,

I saw that Kiseop was a true angel.

He was the complete opposite of my first impression.

Kiseop is really gentle.

He's so kind/gentle that... I've never seen anything like it.

We seemed like a couple... in the room (T/N: they were roommates in Japan)

Kiseop, I love you (T/N: formal)

Kiseop, I love you (T/N: informal)

Hoon is really kind/gentle. He's the type of guy who does his best at everything.

U-KISS has a lot of dance songs (T/N: those released before Hoon joined)

Hoon had to learn all those choreographies

It was really hard work for him

But honestly I saw that condition (and thought)...

With this (lack of) ability in dance...

Could he do well for U-KISS' dance songs? I was always anxious...

But I always instructed him when we practiced together,

Then... Hoon's dance ability got better and better.

I was really amazed.

We always go to each other if there's something wrong.

Of course I also like (talking to) Kiseop, but Hoon is a good listener.

Hoon is really clever/wise

He's really good at giving advice.

Because of this, Hoon is my trusted friend.

When I first met Jun... he was very tall.

His voice, his face, everything seemed... grown up to me.

But... after talking to him, he seemed like a baby (T/N: literally "infant")

At the time he was 17, but he didn't seem to be 17.

For Jun, rap comes naturally, he has true Japanese skill...

In that way... he's a true "idol boy" - Jun's an idol.

That's why I feel like I taught him well.

I just want to brag about Jun everywhere.

He's a child. To me, he'll always be a kid.

Jaybird Headphone Quality for JUST $25? Jaybird Freedom F5 VS. Knockoffs - Duration: 12:25.

The Bluetooth Headphone a device that was once novelty, now turned into a necessity

Apple, the company that has decided that true innovation is removing useful features that

people like

Fortunately my phone the Oneplus 3, still has a headphone jack,

but since Apple says that inconveniencing people is the future, I wanted to taste it.

So I picked up 2 pairs of bluetooth headphones - one that many people would consider mid-range

and the other many would consider chinese knockoffs.

I'm Titus

This is The Search For Awesome

It's time for a showdown.

Let's talk about the companies behind these products first

Jaybird is a US tech company that specializes in high end - high quality Bluetooth headphones

or as some would call them, headsets.

I've heard many great things about them especially from people like MKBHD for instance.

He is a huge advocate for their products.

From the recommendations, I've always wanted to try a pair

On the other hand, Taotronics - please excuse me if I'm saying that wrong - is from - well

I don't really know

After Googling around, I don't see any sign of where they're from, so I'm assuming

it's not America.

They make lots of different products but one of their popular products that is very popular

and highly rated are a bluetooth headset

They are The Bluetooth Headphones, TaoTronics Wireless 4.2 Magnetic Earbuds, Snug Fit for

Sports with Built in Mic TT-BH07 Red (IPX6 Waterproof, aptX Stereo, 6 Hours Playtime,

cVc 6.0 Noise Cancelling Microphone)

I see they like to keep it short and sweet - how eloquent

I bought the Bluetooth Headphones, TaoTronics Wireless 4.2 magnetic…

Okay okay I'm not doing that again

I bought the Taotronics for just $25

And I bought the Jaybird Freedoms over half off at Best Buy on sale for just $50

So even being on sale they're twice the price of the taotronics

and when not on sale they're at over 4 times the price at over $100 just to put things

into context

I understand the Freedoms aren't Jaybirds high-end headphones and they are what you'd

consider entry level for Jaybird

But given the kind words I've heard about Jaybirds, my expectations were high.

For the Taotronics, I wouldn't have had high expectations except for the fact that

they were a highly rated top sellers on Amazon.

In fact, top seller isn't really doing it justice - at the time I was looking to purchase,

they occupied several of the top spots

Each available color of the Taotronics were in different top selling spots.

And after reading the reviews it gave me hope that I just might get a great product at the

price of $25

So are the Jaybirds worth the extra cash for that premium experience?

Spoiler alert.

No, no they are not!

Let's start off with what's in the boxes

Both have carrying pouches

Both have small - I mean very small micro usb cables

But neither include a power brick to plug into the wall.

I can forgive taotronics for this sin because of the low cost - i mean they got to cut corners

somewhere.

but Jaybirds -come on man - that's $100 headphones

They both have several rubber attachments and although Jaybird had more options

The defaults sizes that were included were what I preferred for both headphones.

Both headphones are really nice and modern in appearance

I do personally prefer the Taotronics flat cable design over the normal rounded cable

in the Jaybirds

It being flat allows the cable to bend more easily around your head -

the cable just sorta gets out the way-

Whereas the Jaybird's cable might fight with you for a little bit

This is a minor gripe though

Both are comfortable to wear for long periods, but they are notably different feeling

The Taotronics stick a little deeper in your ear so it's a little bit more snug

And the Jaybirds have a more defined hook design that allows them to hold in place in

your ears

Where they really start to separate, is the battery

The jaybirds have an external battery clip that is used for charging and for getting

a few extra hours of battery life

Just charge the external battery and have it ready for when the Freedoms run out of the

regular battery

And with a snap, you're back

But to be honest though - in practice, it's really not great

Although it doesn't add that much weight, it's kinda uncomfortable to use the external

battery attached to the headphones

it sometimes just kinda tugs on ears and when you're doing something really active it sometimes

falls out from the extra weight

Also I nearly lost the external battery many times

And if you lose that you can't even charge your bluetooth headphones anymore.

They are basically become shoelaces at that point

But losing that small external battery could just be a me problem

The Taotronics have a micro USB cable port for charging built right in

I think this design makes more sense

although I'm not a big fan of the rubber door - it's a little hard to open.

But it's a better solution to this external battery dohicky that the Jaybird Freedoms

use

With the Freedoms you have 4 hours of battery life and with the external battery attached

you a total of 8

And The Taotronics give you 6 all by themselves

And both headphones seem to be on point with these battery life estimates in my experience

For me though, I gotta prefer the Taotronics here - 2 extras hours with no weird battery

thingy just seems like a better design decision

But where Taotronics leaps over the Jaybirds in design is with the magnet built into the

back of each bud.

This allows you to wear it like a necklace which is super handy.

You can attempt to leave the Jaybirds around your neck when not in use, but when they are

not in your ears they fall off easily

And this problem is only made worse when you have the external battery attached adding weight to one side.

Lastly both of these are made for exercise and I've sweated with both of them on with

no problems

And both provide a battery indicator on your phones top bar at least for Android.

I don't have an iPhone.

And both of their built in mics worked great for calls

I had no complaints from anyone I talked with.

The sound quality is what stopped me in my tracks

I had my wife put both of these in my ears one by one just for a blind test right after

I unboxed both of these

I was just dumbfounded.

Not because one was better than the other.

They sounded exactly the same to me

Literally the same

I'm not an audio engineer or anything, but I like to think I know good sound

And I really can't hear a difference in quality in either.

And again the Taotronics were half the price of the jaybirds even when the Jaybirds were

on sale.

Also another thing I prefer about the Taotronics is the volume buttons actually control the

volume on the phone itself

Whereas the Jaybirds control...their internal... volume…

This is really kinda hard to explain.

Both systems can increase and decrease volume with the press of a button

But the Taotronics actually change the volume of the phone itself.

And Jaybirds change the volume somehow outside of the phone

So for the Freedoms if you turn up the volume as far as it will go and that's still not

loud enough

It's because your phone's volume itself is set too low.

So you have to take out your phone and fix it from there.

This happened to me several times.

I'm sure Jaybird had their reason for this, but why exactly?

And you might think for the extra price you can get some extra range in the bluetooth headphones

Nope!

I did a test in my house to see how far I could get away from my phone before I lost signal

and both lost signal at about the same spot

Each on a different floor in my house a few rooms over

So each get pretty good range

So buy the Taotronics, right?

Well It's not exactly that simple

The only saving grace for the Jaybirds is they allow you change the EQ on the headphones

themselves.

This is a pretty sweet feature even if you're not an audiophile

They have several defaults you can try

You can customize your own profile

And they have a whole community of people that share their customized EQs for you to

download.

Not only that, the profile you pick downloads straight to the Jaybird Freedom headphones

themselves

So even if you switch these bluetooth headphones to another device, it keeps your EQ profile

of choice in tact.

This is a pretty killer feature, but to be honest it's a feature that I can live without

I wholeheartedly prefer the Taotronics - especially considering the price.

The default sound on the Taotronics sounded great to me

But if you value the ability to change the EQ on the headphones themselves, then by all

means go grab a Jaybird

Even though I think the Taotronics are a much better value - I will defend Jaybird here.

This is their entry level bluetooth headphones.

I'm sure their more expensive ones are notably better.

MKBHD Last I heard still uses the X3s as his daily driver and this a guy that can literally

rock any tech that he wants.

I mean have you seen how many subs he has?

He could walk into any tech company and be like hey would you mind if

Right now you can grab X3s for just $129, but they were alot more at launch

So that does seem like a pretty good deal if its as good as MKBHD says they are

In fact that weird battery design I griped about earlier - they don't use that in their

higher end headphones.

But in comparison to the Freedoms, I'd just save your money and grab the Taotronics - they're

an amazing value for the price.

I really enjoyed using Bluetooth headphones again

It's been a while and they've made a lot of progress

They are perfect for exercise specifically.

But here's my problem.

I don't need another device to charge each day

See Apple, I'm okay with this - this didn't need to go away!

I know wires aren't convenient, but not having to charge headphones everyday is also

convenient.

But as time goes on, the options of great phones with headphone jacks are becoming more

and more sparse

One day I won't have an option because of that domino the Apple knocked over a few years

ago

Hopefully when I've run out options and my last phone with a headphone jack croaks,

the battery life of wireless headphones will be calculated in weeks instead of hours.
