How I Memorize Korean Vocabulary Quickly // joshmo - Duration: 9:51.

안녕하세요, 조 입니다! Today I am going to be doing a video on Korean vocabulary memorization

How I memorize words quicker and you know,

easier. The first tip I have for you is memorize

vocabulary words in groups. So what I mean by this is find like a big group

subheading, heading, for words

So you want to learn nature or numbers or colors

You know find that kind of group and then group the words together because it's just much easier in that way

That's just the first thing that I would do for I'm starting to learn like

starting to learn words and then later on you can just like group random words together

The next one is find similarities and words or in groups of words

so for example

we have like mountain and land side so mountain is 산 and landslide is 산사태

So you can hear 산 is in both of those things because landslide has to do with mountains, and there's many words like this

So it's really easy if you're learning them in groups to find similarities in words, and then kind of get them

Together and group them together and then learn them easier that way

So the next one is find art and words this might sound like a hippie-ish and weird

But a lot of words especially in Korean because I feel like written Korean is kind of like an art. I think it's beautiful

So there's words that kind of look like the actual words

So for example mountain is 산. I'll put it down here and 산 has a little

Character that looks like this

And it looks like a mountain peak so that's how I remembered mountain really easily

And then planet is 행성 and it looks like this again

And so it has little... the little circle characters. I'm not gonna say the names of the characters

I don't really know the names of the letters

but the little circles look like planets

So it's really easy to remember 행성 because it looks like two little planets

Those are the ones that I'm gonna share with you

So it's really easy if you have a really creative thinking mind to just correlate words with the way

they look the next one is a really easy one and I recommend this for people who are learning how to read 한글 or

Maybe who just need to find like a bunch of easy words to learn these ones are the easiest. These are

Find words that are stolen from English

So there is tons of words that are stolen from English things like 카메라 camera, 모니터 monitor,

브로콜리 broccoli, 나이프 knife, 바나나,

커피, 코라. There's stuff like that

There's so so many of them and every time you read a Korean article or

Maybe like you're looking at Twitter posts from your favorite idols. You'll see a lot of these words stolen

so like 멤버들 means members 멤버 you hear that and

Yeah, there's tons and tons of words like that

so that's another great thing about learning Korean is that there's a lot of words that really sound like English words and

Although they're not the same thing it's really similar so if like you're ordering a cafe in Korea

You can get 아이스 아메리카노, iced americano, so you know things are really

Similar in that aspect. Next one is find sounds that correlate with the word, so this is like a really rare one

But I decided to put it in here because it helped me learn Thunder which is 천둥

천둥 is thunder and it kind of sounds like the way Thunder

Sounds, 천둥. The next one is find English words that correlate with the word

So for example grass is 풀 which sounds like pool so like a pool of grass

that's how I remembered it for some reason. Lake is 호수

Which sounds like horse, 호수, and so I memorized lake really easily. Forest is 숲

What sounds like soup so I

memorized that one again really easily, so these are like words that don't... that aren't the meaning of the actual word

But just sound like English words um

pumpkin is 호박 sounds like ho-bag kind of

But it does help you remember, so those ones are really really easy to memorize for me because I'm like, "Oh grass equals pool!"

"Lake equals 호수, lake equals horse!"

You know it sounds crazy, but it really does work. The next one is use words as much as you can in your everyday life

so

Things like talking to yourself are really important when you're learning Korean or talking to a language learning partner

But most importantly talking to yourself

I talked to my dog in Korean a lot, every time I seem him I'm like "안녕" or when he barks I'm like "뭐? 뭐해?"

And I do that a lot so like today I was eating and I was like 김치 그리고

오뗑 그리고 밥 because that was what I was eating for lunch, and yeah

I do a lot of that all the time. I talk to myself especially when I'm watching dramas

I usually talk to myself in Korean and react to the drama in Korean

Just helps me talk and learn because I don't have anyone really to talk to, besides like one person

But we normally just type we don't really talk talk oh and like when I go to bed

I say "잘자" and when I

When I'm journaling I try to incorporate as many Korean words as I know it's like if I say today

I'll say 오늘, 오늘은 instead of saying just today in my journal or I start my journals with

안녕하세요 and i end them with 사랑해요 or 사랑해

I don't usually use "요" the 존대말 formal language, um

And I say 잘 자 if I'm writing at night and stuff like that so

Yeah, just talk to yourself. It's really easy and it really does help. The next one is watch dramas

You can also learn words from listening to kpop, but I don't learn as much words

I just recognize words that I already know from kpop, but watching dramas is so so important for learning Korean like

So so important for learning. It helps you with your listening

You learn a bunch of words that way because they do repeat a bunch of words all the time in dramas things like

어떻게, 죽지마, don't die. 살려주세요, save me. Of course

안녕하세요, 안녕하십니까, 안녕

Those are just like repeated words, 카페, things like that so like 어디, 어디야

어디에서

어디까지 just a bunch of words that you just pick up on and like sentence structure stuff that are really nice and

I recommend using Viki to learn vocabulary words if you're watching like older dramas because Viki has like

the Korean subtitles

And then the English subtitles in the bottom and the Korean subtitles for some of them you can click on them

And they'll tell you the definition of the word

Just there, so it's really good for language learning

highly recommend. The next one is find words from songs so

What I mean by this is that if you are stuck in like an area or like a place where

You don't really know what you want to learn like what words you want to learn

You don't really have any like study pools, study word pools that you really like or that you want to learn

I recommend looking at a song that you really like and then writing it down all the way so for me right now

I'm running for 봄날, Spring Day and

what I do is I find the lyrics online and

I'll write down all the lyrics

Just like copy them into a notebook and then

after that I

Will look up each word that I don't know

so obviously I know what 봄날 means so I don't have look that up, I know what 겨울 means and

stuff like that so I didn't look those up, but for other words like 떨어지다, 멀어지다

떠돌다

you know some of those kind of weirder verbs I

Looked up

Those ones on Navers dictionary. I love Navers dictionary. They have a new Korean language learning dictionary that's really good and

I'll link all the stuff I'm talking about down below

Yeah, I really really enjoyed just looking those words up, and then I made a whole study set on Quizlet

which I'll talk about later, and I

Just study those words that I've learned from 봄날 and then as I listen to the song I can pick up on the words

That I know and I know what they're talking about which is very exciting. 먼지 like things like that

so yeah

Just find words from songs that you want to learn and then it's exciting because you get to listen to this song and be like

Oh wow

I know what they're saying! The next one is study, review and use a variety of resources to learn

So studying is of course the most important thing when it comes to learning vocabulary

My favorite thing that I use is Quizlet, which is a free program for phone and for laptop, and it's just amazing

I can't recommend it enough I use it for English vocabulary, I use it for

Korean vocabulary, I use it for like learning you know

Test stuff, stuff like that. I really really enjoy Quizlet, so so very much such a great resource

They have so many like games and stuff

Ways to learn that are really interesting so Quizlet is amazing. I also heard Anki was really good

I've never Anki because

I can't download it on my computer, but it's free on your computer

So I recommend you can check that one out as well if like a Windows laptop or whatever

Anki, I've heard good things

and then I use flashcards like good old-fashioned flashcards and

Writing them out of course is really a good way to learn them and also practice your handwriting and last

But not least is don't lose

Hope some words are gonna be a lot tougher than other words

and you're gonna be like so frustrated with yourself because

You're like why can't I learn the stupid word I've been studying for two hours, and that's okay

Just take a break and come back to it, and you'll be amazed. How quickly you'll be able to learn something else and

Once you learn the word it'll be down, and yeah of course you're gonna to review it

But it'll be much easier and take much less time to review and stuff then it would if you

Hadn't learned the word before so yes. I love you all so so very much

hi guys its Mary coming to you straight from the shower I mean look I'm

here today we're going to do this you guys have been wanting to hear about

this device and we're gonna talk about the trophy skin lapel but before I do I

want to go on the record and tell you because of legal things that I am NOT a

doctor I am NOT an aesthetician I don't know a thing about skin care

okay I know a little but about my own skin care normally I do this at night I

just put up a video with my evening skin care and I told you guys that I used the

microdermabrasion system on Fridays and I use this twice a week that is because

I've been trying to eliminate million from my face that I got after using the

six months with drunk elephant I don't know why I have no idea why I got that

but I did when I told my contact at Trophy skin that I had this millia and

could not wait to get back to using my trophy skin she sent me this depending

on who you are and the level of skin problems that you have with pimples

blackheads whiteheads millia acne this could have you looking at this little

cluster and thinking come on but from the standpoint of a person who has

possibly had 30 pimples if their whole life and only about 3 million this

worried me when I noticed that this was happening I didn't know are they gonna

get larger will they take a year to get all the way on the other side of my

mouth hidden from the view of this camera was one that I didn't photograph

because it was there prior to drunk elephant and at the time this picture

was taken it was for the presentation for drunk elephant but that video was so

long I had to cut it out that one on the lower lip is three times the size of

these or was and had been there like a little rock for at least six months

prior to this picture being taken so I was a little freaked out when

and these showed up like are they gonna end up like that one also I didn't dare

want to mess with them because I went after one that I had on my eye a few

years back with a needle and tried to pop it and my eye was swollen shut for a

crushed diamond head however I do run the Lebel scrubbing blade right over it

boy that one was huge that was like what the heck I'm taking a needle and poking

that don't do that guys Millia are not white heads okay you're not

gonna poke it and then squeeze it out so no don't be doing that what is this

thing well this is what they call an ultrasonic blade scraper if you will and

I've never even heard of it before but apparently this is used in dermatology

offices it's a fantastic device this is a smooth metal surface look how thin it

is it's so so thin now on this side this is the side that you use to scrape your

face when if that's done you turn it over this way okay so that this part is

facing you and you can press your serums in the microdermabrasion system in that

video I tell you there's a serum pusher thing on that device I like this better

I like this better for pushing my serums this morning we'll be using it to put in

my vitamin C serum and my my coenzyme 10 from timeless so I'm going to spray my

skin down so it would be dripping wet just like I had taken and rinsed my skin

you always want the skin to be wet never dry when using this water is now

dripping off my skin and I'm gonna put this on the first one you see that

that's the first one can you see what I don't know if you can see the water

flying off my face I can and I'm gonna stop for a second because I want to tell

you that I thought that that it was smoked because I just read the

instruction manual and I hadn't actually watched any videos of it being done and

didn't realize what it was the first time I used it I'm like yeah I stopped

it I wouldn't use it for like a week until I researched it and found out oh

it's it's fine but I thought oh my gosh it's like gonna burn me that smoke it

isn't smoke this thing is vibrating at the speed of sound it's like thirty

thousand Hertz per second it's really vibrating fast what is happening is when

it touches your skin as you move it the water that's there it is pushing it into

your pores and it's causing it to vibrate off in a fine mist let's do

something here I can't use this camera to film on because the autofocus on it

and where the mic is positioned and stuff is terrible

okay but maybe I can do this better for this part on here so you can see this

mist flying off my face just in case you can't see it on this camera ready

now you see this mist right going right there you see that going off to the left

there off the side of my face it's hard because of the background being blurred

but if you look real careful you can see it also while we're in here notice how

small my pores are right here you see that coming off the left there that is a

water mist not smoke this thing is oscillating so fast it's pushing water

into the pores and cleaning them out and if I had any blackheads or whiteheads I

have seen them pop right out of there you just brought in a freeze frame for

what you just watched because I want you to look here this is the side of my

mouth I was talking about where the big Malia was for so long can you see it

it's like all that gone and I'm zooming in really really tight here once I've

done that then what I would do next is take and put it on the stick when you

hit it again it goes down here so first time it's up here see the blue then you

hit it again and it goes to this and it makes this noise can you hear that you

can never make a mistake because the scraper side sounds different than the

induction side let's get my pump of vitamin C or whatever serums you're

using this is just because it's during the day and we're gonna have to hurry

because this vitamin C sinks in really quick you go like this now I've seen

people that like do a circle but I don't I just start here and I pull slowly

across my skin just glide it down and that because of the way this is shaped

it just fits right against that nose area so well and push my serums into my

face by the way this is sped up I didn't want you to think I'd go this fast this

is called the infusion mode and I know it works because it takes like half the

time for my oils to get into my skin let's just Pat that all over here so

it's really wet and smooth it in if wet skin increases the permeability of a

serum by 10 times then Wow what's this doing sonic waves push the serums deep

into your skin for those who might be wondering the spatula is not sharp so

you're not gonna cut yourself with it the Lebel is set to clean and shrink

clogged pores remove excess oil extract black and white heads exfoliate dry

slakey skin and improve the radiance texture and tone of your skin I don't

know about the exfoliating dry skin part because I use the microdermabrasion but

I can speak for the rest of it go ahead and put my moisturizer

now that the Millia is all but gone I told you in my evening skincare routine

that I use this twice a week I use this on Wednesday nights and son-in Saturdays

and I use my microdermabrasion machine on Friday nights I think what I'm gonna

do is back off my microphone vibration machine to once every two weeks okay cuz

I don't want to be doing too much to my skin but I do have hyperpigmentation

concerns that I want to keep working on so from here going forward I likely

won't concentrate on my nose with the microdermabrasion my nose is actually

very bony and hard to work around and the Lebel actually does a better job so

I'll stay off of it with the microdermabrasion machine I would just

hit trouble spots heavy with it fine lines and wrinkles in here but you know

definitely I won't be pushing serums with my microdermabrasion which if you

watch the video on that you know it has the capability to do that but I like

this so much better for doing that not to put

down the microdermmd I mean it has a lot of really great things it does and I

really can't be without that one either I made a whole video it's a pretty long

one cuz I showed you step-by-step how to use it when I stopped using it and went

to the drunk elephant for six months I think that it just wasn't able to do

what I was doing with the trophy skin microdermabrasion system and just what I

do with my skin care when I stopped and I just did the drunk elephant I think my

skin got worse because of that oh well there's no doubt about it I proved that

it got worse well I think what I'm trying to do is maybe give drunk

elephant a pass here on being the culprit for making my skin worse

I don't know that drunk elephant made my skin worse so much as it could not give

me the level of skin care I was getting with the microdermabrasion system which

told me there's really nothing in a bottle I don't think that you can buy

without a prescription from a doctor that will be able to give you the

results of them you have taking microdermabrasion system to your skin to

exfoliate and get that off there and this is what TLC does what the baby

facial does I just think it can't compete with the microdermabrasion

system and I will show you those clips that I've been promising you forever now

okay guys ignore that person okay guys it's been

six months I'm sitting in the middle of my bed I am now done with drunk elephant

so for those who possibly want to know drunk elephant last six months okay and

what do we got here in front of me it's my trophy skin and I packed away I'm

expecting to see nothing no no gunky nastiness at all

I've washed my face coming off of drunk elephant there better not be anything

that this trophy skin pulls off my face I'm going to do it you don't have to

watch I'll show you the aftermath okay miniature I've just finished doing my

automation I left it on the automation mode for my micro dermabrasion trophy

skin machine let us see if you're not interested in seeing what the trophy

skin pulled off the surface of my skin the dead skin cells then close your eyes

I'll tell you when to open up oh this makes my point if you're using a

chemical exfoliant every night and a supercharged one that is equivalent to

medical once a week then I don't think this should be coming off my face the

very next day don't think that it can compete with mechanical exfoliation and

if you had your eyes closed you can open them now I'd like to thank you guys now

we're going to talk about how you sign up log on and purchasing bitcoins so

about the Authenticator is that it's kind of locked to your phone so they'd

have to steal your phone hack your phone and hack your account and then get into

your coin base account the code generated by Google Authenticator is

updated every 30 seconds so don't write it down because it will be different the

next time you look in I quite like the coin base interface it's very clean it's

very neat it's very easy to view so once you get here you see your dashboard it's

got the current prices of the coins for today to buy and sell is quite

straightforward you just click the coin you want choose the credit card that

you've provided you want to buy it I believe the minimum is $2 so you can

try $2 transaction oh it's two dollars and two cents is minimum transaction and

you'll see that Bitcoin has eight decimal places so you've bought five

thousand two hundred and six Satoshi

I recommend that you purchase higher amounts at one go

why because coin based charges a flat fee and a percentage fee so the

percentage fee goes up the more you spend but the flat fee the percentage

goes down the high you spend so it's good to watch fees because they can eat

into your investments so let's whack a hundred dollars in here

what I really like about this system is that you can do a repeat buy like me

I suffer from buying inertia I get too much data and I say the price has gone

up the prices have gone down do I hire diner pies are gonna drop some more

should I wait for it to get cheaper and buy the dip as you're supposed to do

this way if dollar cost average is your investment so you can set it to purchase

$5 a day or $50 a week or $50 every two weeks or a hundred dollars a month

whatever you can afford and that that averages out your investments see

average a purchase price over time which smooths out your risk somewhat I found

for Australians is that we get a 300 Australian dollar credit card limit we

can't open a bank account yet which is annoying but it does allow us to buy

$300 of Bitcoin a week instantly which is pretty cool I've seen on reddit but

some European card holders can purchase higher amounts immediately here it's a

misleading link to increase limits we can't really do anything with this it

just tells you what's remain so it doesn't allow you to adjust it which is

annoying so to purchase you can set it to purchased the maximum amount click

buy Bitcoin instantly and that processes your transaction it's as easy as that at

the moment there's no sole feature this is supposed to be added to Australia

soon you can sell your coins back to fiat currency in America Europe and UK

this will be handy if you want to sit out of the market if you think it's

going to drop and you want to cash in your your Bitcoin and wait for it to

drop and then purchase in if you need to sell your bitcoins for fiat currency you

need to transfer it onto another exchange which has

on-ramp off-ramp full of dollars please include independent reserved coin jar

and coin back Stockholm for European and American users so you transfer your

Bitcoin on to that other exchange sell your Bitcoin cash and then request that

cash be deposited into your bank account here's the account overview so you count

shows all the wallets you have on coinbase it allows you to send your

Bitcoin to other people so if you have another wallet or you want to send your

mum some money you you enter her Bitcoin address here

he set the amount you want to give her and I don't have that much so let's give

her a hundred bucks for Christmas you can write her

and then click continue I don't have an address here because my mom hasn't set

up an account yet but I will help her with that

you click continue and the not just processes into her wallet you can also

receive coins into your Bitcoin wallet and coinbase and that's kind of the

reverse of sending you just to send the person your wallet address they punch

that into their send feature on their exchange or their wallet and then that

sends it into your your Bitcoin wallet here or you can send the QR code or have

them scan it and send it if you're in the same room vault is a feature to

secure your money offline with coinbase so it's ideal for larger balances Volt's

use delayed withdrawals and multiple approvers to help give you peace of mind

so if you were the wincle vine you would probably use a vault but they've got

their own exchange and they wouldn't use coinbase i'm sure that in a nutshell is

how you quickly and easily purchase Bitcoin using credit card on coinbase

I always say to patients that I'll do as much as you want me to or as little as you want

even though we do see many patients that are trying to avoid pharmaceuticals which is understandable.

Then from there if they are very much interested in doing a more holistic approach I add to

the pharmaceuticals.

I add acupuncture.

We add neurofeedback which can be very effective in trying to stabilize some of the brain activity.
