Which Are the Poorest Countries in the World? - Duration: 7:02.

As the saying goes: "There's poor, and then there's poor."

The United States, for instance, has relative poverty, but those living on very meagre earnings,

or government handouts, will most of the time have food to eat and a roof over their head.

In 2017, The Guardian reported that around 30 percent of Britain's children were classified

as being poor, and two thirds of them came from working families.

While these children will most of the time still be fortunate enough to receive a full

school education, they may also often be eating food that came from food banks.

But what is it like to live in abject poverty, with a threadbare safety net hanging below

you, if any safety net at all?

That's what we'll find out today, in this episode of The Infographics Show, Poorest

countries in the world.

Don't forget to subscribe and click the bell button so that you can be part of our

Notification Squad.

First of all, when looking at data, the list of the poorest nations changes from resource

to resource, but certain countries stand out.

As many of those are in Africa, we will also choose some countries that are perhaps not

the poorest in the world, but are the poorest in their part of the world.

We'll start with Madagascar, an island nation in the Indian Ocean off the East coast of

Africa.

While famed for its unique wildlife and natural beauty, it's one of the poorest nations

on earth.

It was reported in 2015 by the UN that much of the 25 million population has no secure

food supply, and in the same year photos appeared in the world's media showing emaciated children

that reminded people of African famine in the 80s.

Nine out of 10 people live on less than two dollars a day.

It's a precarious environment, with droughts, floods and locust plagues common.

Disease is rife, as is malnutrition.

The sad thing is UNICEF says the island is largely ignored in terms of international

donors.

If we turn to Asia, the poorest nation there is said to be Afghanistan, which is reportedly

slightly poorer than Nepal.

The World Bank states that poverty is rising in the country, writing that lately "1.3

million more Afghans are unable to satisfy their basic needs."

Due to conflicts, there has been less aid given to the country, not to mention the damage

done to job growth and infrastructure.

Much of the country's population is illiterate and unskilled, and unemployment there just

keeps rising.

It's thought one third of the country's 34.6 million people are food insecure.

It's also said there are about 3 million people in the country addicted to opiates.

Afghanistan is generally considered the poorest nation not in Africa, along with some island

nations in the Pacific.

Another country outside of Africa that is very poor is the Caribbean nation of Haiti,

sometimes regarded as the poorest nation in the western hemisphere.

The BBC reports that the nation may have gained its independence from France but that came

at a "crippling cost".

It's seen ruthless dictators, economic instability and terrible natural disasters such as the

2010 earthquake that caused significant damage to the country's infrastructure.

Almost a third of the country lives in extreme poverty, and another third are said to be

poor.

According to World Bank, this means those in extreme poverty live on less than $1.23

per day and those that are poor live on less than $2.41 a day.

Furthermore, the Borgen Project said in 2017 that half of the 10 million-plus people don't

have a job.

Three quarters of households have no running water and disease and malnutrition is pervasive.

In South America, the poorest nation is thought to be Bolivia.

With a population of around 11 million, this landlocked country that borders Brazil, Peru,

Paraguay and Chile, has seen its extreme poverty rate drop from 38.2 percent to 16.8 percent

over the last decade.

The worst of the poverty is in the rural parts of the country, but UNICEF reports that as

many as 60 percent of all Bolivians live below the poverty line.

The number is higher in rural areas mainly because of the fact the country lacks connecting

infrastructure to urban areas.

These people struggle to find clean drinking water and services.

According to Habitat for Humanity, 58% of Bolivian families live in slums and have no

direct access to basic services or sanitation.

The unemployment rate, though, according to the same source, is only 6.2 percent.

Going over to Europe, most sources put Moldova as the poorest country there.

The Eastern European nation that borders Romania and Ukraine, has a population of around 3.5

million.

According to the World Bank, 6 percent of the country lives on less than $2.50 a day,

but the worst hit are those living in rural communities.

Many of these people have no access to clean drinking water or sewage systems.

The country lacks infrastructure, is plagued by corruption, and job opportunities are few

for the rural poor.

This is why many have left or are trying to leave the country.

According to the Borgen Project, "Young people are needed for economic growth, but

they will not stay in the country if they do not see a future there."

When Moldovans were polled in 2017 about what they most worry about, the top answers were

high prices, poverty, corruption and diseases.

73.3 percent of respondents said their earnings did not give them a decent standard of living.

The poll was published by the country's state news agency.

Back in Africa, there are two countries that regularly find themselves on the list of poorest

in the world.

The first one we will talk about is the Democratic Republic of the Congo, which is sometimes

said to have the lowest GDP per capita in the world.

Other sources such as CIA Factbook state that it is actually Somalia, and other sources

such as the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund state that it is The Central

African Republic.

We will first talk about the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

This Central African country, called Zaire for many years, has a population of around

79 million.

The country is said to be super rich in resources, but 63 percent of its citizens live below

the poverty line of $1.90 or even one dollar a day.

This is sad, because the World Bank says that with such good arable land and deposits of

natural gas, iron, gold, diamonds, platinum, ands uranium, it could be one of the richest

African nations.

Despite this, the average person there will make around $800 a year.

The country, however, has historically been ravaged and plundered – of minerals and

its people for slaves – by European nations, while the former Soviet Union and the United

States also carried out proxy wars there.

It's a nation that has known no peace, and in recent times has been ruled by vicious

dictators that sometimes had support from the West.

The country is still rife with corruption and this is holding it back.

Poverty leads to disease, and this is why people living there can expect to live on

average to only 59 years old.

Human rights abuses are so many we could write an entire show about those alone.

As we just said, also at the bottom of the list of poorest nations is the Central African

Republic.

Just north of the border to the Democratic Republic of Congo, it too is said to be very

rich in minerals and arable land.

The population is about 5 million.

Many of these people live on around 750 dollars a year.

About 67 percent of the population lives on less than a dollar a day.

Half of the population are illiterate, with the average person receiving about 3.5 years

of schooling in total.

This nation too has seen violent conflicts, ongoing corruption, and human rights abuses,

while disease and malnutrition is widespread.

Life expectancy is said to be around 51 years.

With no end in sight to violence and corruption, this mineral rich nation looks like it will

remain poor for some time to come.

The Western Sahara Conflict, Explained - Duration: 6:44.

If you've ever looked at a world map, then you've probably noticed something rather

strange. In the Western Sahara desert, bordering the Atlantic Ocean, there lies a piece of

land that always says the same thing: no data available. This is the only significant area

of land NOT included on these maps. What nation wouldn't want an extra 690 miles of coastline

and land area the size of New Zealand? Well, this situation is rooted deeply in both European

and African geography and politics. To understand why this border anomaly exists, we first need

to look at geography. Western Sahara is, well, in the Western Sahara. This means the majority

of human activity is restricted to the coasts, causing the region to have a very small population

relative to land area. For example, let's compare this to a U.S. metropolitan area.

With a mere two thousand more inhabitants than Western Sahara, the Scranton-Wilkes-Barre-Hazleton,

Pennsylvania metropolitan area fits the bill pretty well. This metro area has an area of

1,776 square miles, while Western Sahara has an area of 102,703 square miles. That means

Western Sahara is 5,682% larger than our Scranton example and is still 2,000 inhabitants smaller.

Despite this land being mostly useless, uninhabitable desert, it remains a point of contention to

this day. The history of this dispute can be traced back to European colonialism in

Africa. The story of modern Western Sahara began in 1884 when Spain claimed a protectorate

coastline spanning from Cape Bojador to Cape Blanc. Holding this claim as is for 74 years,

Spain would combine its separate territories [Saguia el-Hamra and Río de Oroto] to form

Spanish Sahara in 1958. At this time, almost all of the African continent was claimed by

one European power or another. This was following the formation of the United Nations, an organization

opposed to colonization. Throughout the following decade, the U.N. made a widespread effort

to decolonize Africa. On of the most important African nations in Western Sahara's history

is Morocco, which gained independence from Spain in 1956. Following this, Morocco claimed

that it was the rightful owner of Spanish Sahara, as it had been part of pre-colonial

Morocco. Mauritania would make similar claims, before even becoming independence. At this

time, three parties claimed Western Sahara -- Morocco, Mauritania, and Spain. As African

colonialism came to an end, one more party would join in. On May 10th, 1973, the Polisario

Front was established to end colonial rule in Western Sahara and create a nation for

the native Sahrawi people. From '73 on, the colonizers gradually lost control to armed

Polisario forces in guerrilla warfare. Spanish attempts to form competing Spanish-loyal Sahrawi

political entities failed. At this point, the Spanish were unwilling to engage in full-on

warfare, so agreed to hold a referendum, allowing the native people to vote for independence

or to join the neighboring Morocco or Mauritania. Morocco did not support this, calling to postpone

and hold a hearing from the International Court of Justice, as it and Mauritania both

believed they had a right to Western Sahara due to historical borders. The U.N. did become

involved after this, even sending a mission to Western Sahara to determine the wishes

of the Sahrawi people, finding most supported independence and the Polisario Front. Following

this, the International Court of Justice published its findings; stating that, while both Morocco

and Mauritania had historical claims to the region, nothing would imply sovereignty without

native support. In protest of this, Morocco began planning the Green March, a massive

strategic demonstration to force Spain to hand Spanish Sahara to it. The Moroccan government's

plans came to fruition when 300,000 unarmed Moroccans, brandishing Moroccan flags, the

Qur'an, and photographs of the Moroccan King, marched into Western Sahara. These demonstrators

were met with no resistance from the Spanish, however were met with resistance from the

newly formed Polisario front. This resulted in an agreement between Morocco, Mauritania,

and Spain, titled the Madrid Agreement, in which the Spanish Sahara territory was split

in two in return for phosphate and fishing concessions to the Spanish. The Polisario

Front strongly opposed this agreement. Due to this, Spain, Morocco and Mauritania came

to another agreement; the Madrid Accords. This officially set up a timetable to end

Spanish occupation of Western Sahara. Morocco would control the Northern 2/3 , and Mauritania

would take control of the lower third. This was not a transfer of sovereignty, but rather

a temporary solution. As Morocco and Mauritania moved to hold their land, they were met with

Mauritania eventually succumb to this unrest, transferring its ⅓ of Western Sahara to

the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic. Morocco took advantage of this, claiming this land

and, in turn, all of Western Sahara. After 16 years of war, Morocco and the Sahrawi Arab

Democratic Republic finally reached a cease-fire agreement. They also agreed to hold a referendum

within six months of signing, however this has yet to be held to this day despite multiple

attempts. This brings us to the modern day, where Morocco retains control over 80% of

Western Sahara and the Polisario Front is headquartered in Algeria, as its land is almost

entirely desert. Despite this, the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic is recognized by

I think we offer something quite unique in that we have a session specifically aimed at disabled

and deaf children.

Working in partnership with Access Sport we've been able to

bring climbing which is often considered elitist, to a whole new range of people

a lot of these guys are not confident because they're not amongst people along

the same ability as them and again it just gives them that drive to come in

and say actually I can do something, whether it's collecting a ball,

whether it's running whether it's kicking I can do that quite comfortably, along with it

help of a few coaches but mainly by themselves and that's giving them a

massive confidence boost

Ok, pose for the camera Cameron and show how you can now bat two-handed

helping Cameron develop and financing him to chase what he loves playing and

that's cricket and already I've seen him hitting shots textbook what a

normal able bodied lad can hit, easily. And I think as well he's getting respect as

for being a player, it's not so much this is a kid, aw you know, feel sorry for him

he is now gaining respect from teammates and the club itself

as being a sportsman.

I like the people there, they're very nice and it's nice to socialize with

people my own age and it's also very good keep you healthy doing sports I like it.

she had a disability that she'd had since birth, and she was a wheelchair user

since birth and she got in a boat, and left her wheelchair on the side and she came back

in and she said that's the first time in my entire life

I've been away, from the wheelchair and she found it

massively liberating, and she forgot she was disabled. Can't get that anywhere else can you.

9 Misleading Assumptions You Make About Quiet People - Duration: 4:37.

9 Misleading Assumptions You Make About Quiet People

Quiet people are always misbehaved, and it is simply because there are some misleading

assumption spreading around us.

It is actually okay to have these assumptions because quiet people usually don't really

mind about that.

However, we cannot just let this information confidential.

It has to be shared in order to know the real thing about quiet people.

In this short video, I'm going to share with you about 9 misleading assumptions you make

about quiet people.

If you're new to our channel, make sure to click the subscribe button below, and don't

forget to like this video if you find this information is helpful to you.

So, here is some misleading conception about quiet people that you need to know.

#1 - Not all quiet are same

Do you think that quiet people are same?

No they don't.

Quiet is only adjective that can be attached to basically everyone.

Since people are different, so does the adjective.

Therefore, it is illogical to think that all quiet people are same.

Moreover, it is worth noting that quiet people are caused by different numbers of reason

ranging from being shy, hating you, or problem with their voice.

#2 - Quite people don't think about the prejudice

Quite people are basically thinker.

They actually know that they are being the objects of your curiosity.

However, they don't take it seriously.

They don't really care if you think they are bad.

They can live alone anyway.

Moreover, they also don't think they need to clarify everything to you.

#3 - Quiet people are looking for your help

Sometimes, people see them as victim or patient who needs help for their speech impairment.

However, it is actually not some sort of disease at all.

They basically can talk.

They will talk when they need it.

However, most of the time, they don't.

You see they keep quiet when they seem to need help.

They will do it by themselves anyway.

It is just because they can do things by themselves

#4 - Quiet people want to talk a lot

This is another funny assumption spreading around the world.

However, quiet people actually prefer talking less and less to the point of being quiet

because they don't feel comfortable to talk too much.

They also don't want to have useless conversation too.

#5 - Lacking of social skills

Indeed, some quiet people are forced to be quiet because they don't have appropriate

social skills.

They are usually people who rarely or never go out having interaction with other people.

However, most quiet people actually choose to be quiet instead.

They can negotiate, they can discuss, and they can speak up, and it is all possible

because they don't lack social skills.

They just choose people whom they talk to.

#6 - Lacking of confidence

It is another wild assumption that people usually throw on quiet people.

Quiet people are confident with what they have in mind.

They let others to talk first because they want to observe and listen.

It is preferable to others too.

That is why basically they are not lacking confidence.

#7 - Quiet people want to be left alone

No they don't.

They like people, and they like to be a part in a community.

It is true that sometimes quiet people live alone instead.

However, they still want to have some friends who can share ideas, jokes, and emotion.

Don't think that quiet people don't have social life and being left alone.

#8 - They are mad at you

No they aren't.

Again, common expression does not apply to quiet people as you think to others.

Their facial expression is quite different since quiet people tend to be flat.

This is what makes them judged as being rude, cruel, evil, unfriendly, and full of hatred.

However, they are really not.

#9 - They are smarter

Being smart has nothing to do with being quiet.

They definitely will not be smarter than you if they don't study well.

Isn't that so simple?

All in all, that's all the 9 misleading assumptions you make about quiet people.

Really cool information isn't it?

Ecommerce Advantages and Disadvantages: How Oberlo Can Help With Your Dropshipping Business (TIPS!)

So, you've been thinking about starting your own online business – that's great!

But, perhaps you're still unsure whether an ecommerce business is the right option

for you.

Don't worry, it's Jessica Guzik here with Oberlo, and today we're going to go through

our list of advantages and disadvantages to getting started with your own ecommerce business.

By the end of this video, you'll have all the information you need to make the best

decision for you and your future business.

Are you ready?

Let's get started!

Welcome to the Oberlo YouTube channel, where every week we'll be discussing everything

that goes into starting, operating, and scaling your own dropshipping business.

If you have any questions, let us know in the comments section below – I read through

every comment.

Like I mentioned earlier, I'm the host for this video, Jessica Guzik, and if you're

interested about what we're discussing here, consider subscribing, so you can get new videos

every week.

Let's kick off this video by noting some of the positive aspects of starting an online

business.

Advantage 1 - Low Financial Cost

Generally, ecommerce businesses cost a lot less money to start and run than a physical

storefront would.

If you were to get started with your own physical retail store, you'd likely have to commit

a large amount of money to renting and renovating a location, renting storage space, and purchasing

the products you hope to sell.

When you're running an ecommerce business, you won't need to commit such a large upfront

investment before you can start selling.

Instead, you can use an ecommerce platform, like Shopify, to set up your own store (with

custom designs) for less than $100 dollars.

Of course, you'll incur monthly fees for your Shopify subscription, but this will likely

be very cheap compared to what it would cost to upkeep a physical location.

In addition, if you're using Oberlo, you'll never need to worry about spending money on

storage space, as the products you sell will be shipped directly from your supplier's

warehouse to your customer's door.

Advantage 2 - 24/7 Potential Income

Unlike physical retail stores, ecommerce stores are always open.

This means that you have the potential to generate income 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Think about it.

When you're running an online store, it doesn't matter when your customers want

to shop – the choice is in their hands.

Your marketing campaigns will be running all day, so they could make a purchase at 4pm

in the afternoon, or 4am in the morning.

Now, compare this to physical stores, which tend to be open from 9am - 7pm.

It's clear that ecommerce entrepreneurs have so much more time every day to generate

sales.

Advantage 3 - Sell Internationally

From the very first day that you launch your ecommerce store, you'll be running an international

business.

You can sell to customers in every corner of the world, if you want to.

Or, you can just sell to customers in one country – maybe even your own.

The choice is yours!

If you decide to run a dropshipping business, it's a great idea to take advantage of the

ePacket delivery method too.

It's a great way to ensure that your customers receive their products as quickly as possible.

And if you want to learn more about ePacket delivery, click the card above

Advantage 4 - Easy to Showcase Bestsellers

When you're running an ecommerce business, it's fairly simple to showcase your best-selling

products to potential buyers.

You can create custom graphics to promote them on your stores homepage, build a dedicated

category for them, and curate marketing campaigns to promote them.

Your best-sellers are proven products from your store, so lots of customers will be interested

in them.

They also say a lot about your brand, so ensure that they're easily visible for visitors

to your online store.

Advantage 5 - Can Encourage Impulse Buys

One great thing about eCommerce stores is that you can encourage customers to make impulse

buys.

If you provide them with an attractive product page, some high-quality images, and the correct

sizing for the products, they're going to be much more eager to buy.

But, it's the scarcity tactics that you can use with your online store that will really

entice buyers.

You can add countdown timers to alert your potential customers that a sale is going to

end, or showcase that there are limited quantities of a product that they're looking at.

These work to create a sense of urgency, prompting your customers to click "buy."

If they're interested in your products, they won't want to miss out.

Advantage 6 - Remarketing Possibilities

When you're running an ecommerce business, remarketing your products to buyers is a great

way to generate more revenue.

But it's something that's pretty difficult for physical store owners.

As an ecommerce entrepreneur, you can target people who abandoned their cart while they

were shopping at your online store.

You've already done the hard part – you've piqued their interest with your products,

secured their interest enough to get them to the checkout stage, but they dropped off

for whatever reason.

Maybe they were distracted at work, or their kids needed help, and they forgot about your

store.

But – they were interested at one point – so just send them an email to let them

know that their product is still available.

You'll be surprised how successful this tactic can be.

Now, when you're running a physical store, this strategy isn't really possible.

It'd be the equivalent of running after a customer who was browsing your store and

shouting: "Hey, I think you forgot something!"

Not many customers would respond by turning around and going back into your store.

Advantage 7 - Scaling Your Business is Quick

Every entrepreneur wants their business to be successful.

And when that happens, you want to double down on it.

Eventually, you'll find that you need to scale up your operations to meet customer

demand, or you'll end up missing out on potential sales.

Now, when you're running a retail store, a lot goes into scaling your business.

You'll need a larger store, more storage space, more products from your suppliers,

more sales staff… the list goes on.

It can end up being a lengthy process.

And during that time, your business' growth might stagnate.

On the flip side, when you're running a dropshipping store, your main concern when

scaling your business will be making sure that your marketing budget is sufficient,

and that your ads are optimized.

All in all, it's a lot easier to scale an ecommerce business.

As you can see, there is a lots of reasons why starting an ecommerce store has advantages

over starting a physical storefront. However, there are some disadvantages getting into ecommerce

and in the interest of being honest with you, let's talk about some of those disadvantages.

Disadvantage 1 - If Your Site Crashes, You Can't Sell

This is perhaps the worst part about running an ecommerce business.

If your site is down, you can't make any sales.

And not only will you miss out on sales during the time that your store was down, you'll

also damage the reputation of your brand.

That's after you've worked so hard to draw in potential customers too, and they

might never return to make that purchase.

So, it's clear that you'll need a stable platform to host your store, if you want to

run an ecommerce business, like Shopify.

If you use Shopify to create and run your store, you can rest assured that your store

won't be going down any time soon.

Their service will stay up and running, even during peak shopping events like Black Friday

and Cyber Monday.

Disadvantage 2- Ecommerce is Highly Competitive

In the world of ecommerce, popular niches are much more competitive than physical retail

stores.

After all, you're not just competing with stores in the vicinity, you're competing

with all the other online stores in the world.

With this in mind, you'll need to make sure that your store stands out from crowd.

There are plenty of ways that you can make your store unique.

For example, you can offer hard-to-find, high-quality products, you can launch engaging marketing

campaigns, or you can build a relationship with customers with fun social media accounts.

We'll leave some links in the description with more videos and content that you can

use to help give your store a competitive advantage

Disadvantage 3 - Shipping Your Products

When a customer makes a purchase at a physical store, it's likely that they'll be able

to take the product home right away and start using it.

But, when shopping online, a customer might not receive their product quickly, which could

put them off making a purchase.

It's a disadvantage, but it's important that you're transparent about your shipping

times with your customers.

Let them know when they can expect packages, and they'll be much more forgiving if the

shipping process takes a little longer.

A great way to counteract this disadvantage would be to offer free shipping with all purchases.

If you don't charge your customers for shipping, they'll be much more likely to finalize

the purchase, even if your shipping takes a couple of days.

The best part?

You don't have to lose money to facilitate this tactic.

Instead, you can simply incorporate the shipping fees into the price of your products.

This way your customers will love your service, while you maintain the margins you need to

make a profit.

White House Defends Staffer Who Brutally Beat His Ex Wives - Duration: 4:09.

On Wednesday Donald Trump's staff secretary Rob Porter announced that he was going to

be resigning from the White House.

He didn't give a clear timeline of this resignation.

White House said it could be today, tomorrow, could be next week, but he was definitely

resigning.

The reason for it was because this man has been accused of domestic violence by both

of his ex-wives.

In fact, photos have emerged of at least one of the women with a black eye and other bruises

that she claims were given to her by Rob Porter.

Now The White House rather than saying, we're going to get rid of Rob Porter, we're going

to accept his resignation and move on because he's a bad person, they decided to take the

opposite route.

They did accept his resignation but not before going in front of America and telling us that

Rob Porter was a really, really great guy.

On Wednesday White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders took to the podium during

her press conference to read a letter of denial from Rob Porter, letting everybody know that

these women are liars, and that Rob Porter is a good guy, and that we shouldn't believe

the women, and it's very sad what's happened to him.

Later in the day General John Kelly said, "There's no place for domestic abuse within

The White House, however, the Rob Porter I know isn't the kind of guy that does that.

The guy I've gotten to know over the last few months is a good guy.

I'm shocked by these allegations," is what Chief of Staff John Kelly had to say.

That's not true.

First and foremost, John Kelly knew about these allegations as far as back as last fall

because Rob Porter failed to obtain a security clearance for his position in The White House

because of the past domestic abuse on his record and the fact that one of his ex-wives

had to file a restraining order against him, something that you can only get if you're

able to prove that this person you're getting a restraining order from is a threat to you.

John Kelly lied to the public, knew that Rob Porter had done this, or at least been accused

of it, and sat there and lied to all of us, saying, "Rob is a good guy.

I'm shocked by all this, blah, blah, blah."

The White House right now is doing what most people in this country for some reason do,

which is why women never come forward with this stuff.

They're saying that the women are liars.

They're putting all the faith in the man, and that's why women don't come forward.

That's why we suddenly once the MeToo movement got off the ground had all these women coming

forward, people saying, "Why didn't you come forward sooner?"

This is why.

It's because nobody ever believes them.

In this country, for some reason, women are always lying about it unless you can produce

enough concrete evidence and even when you do, people like Sarah Huckabee Sanders and

John Kelly will still say, "You've got those photographs, you've got the restraining order,

I still side with Rob Porter."

Remember when Donald Trump promised us when he came into office he was only going to hire

the best people?

So far we've got a guy that beats the shit out of women.

We have a guy, Gorka, that was connected to White Nationalist organizations.

We have a known racist, Jeff Sessions who says his only problem with the KKK is that

they occasionally smoke marijuana.

We have propagandists and Steve Bannon.

I know those guys are no longer with the administration, but they're worth pointing out.

Donald Trump said he was going to hire only the best people.

I'm sure in his mind those are the best people because they're probably the most like him.

First Look at the All-New 2019 Volkswagen Arteon — Cars.com - Duration: 3:29.

an all-new model called the Archean replaces the CC as Volkswagens premium

coupe like sedan positioned above the Passat and it's no longer technically a

sedan now whereas the CC had a conventional trunk back here the RTN

actually tucks a lift gate back here instead as far as changes go that's just

the tip of the iceberg very fresh styling up front gear a lot going on

here with the grille kind of this upper and lower unit really blend together

thanks to all these horizontal bars that just kind of stack one above each other

these chrome bars actually extend all the way into the framework for the

headlights themselves check this out this kind of tucks in just underneath

the inboard light bezel you've got some lighting here LEDs here for a daytime

running light and then this one above it is actually the turn signal and they

appear to kind of snake right into the grill itself so some very cool intricate

stuff going on speaking of intricate stuff going on as well check this out

this is a the license plate frame in states that require a front plate you

throw it right here but if you're in a state that doesn't require a front plate

you can actually leave this piece in here Volkswagen says which offers some

more visual continuity pretty cool now this car here has 18-inch wheels you can

get all the way up to 20s with optional wheels overall dimensions on the

archaeon haven't changed that much versus the CC according to Volkswagen

but wheelbase is up a significant five inches now one thing that stays similar

to the CC are these doors no window frames on the CC and none here either

now as a premium car in the Volkswagen lineup you'd expect the RTN to have

nicer cabin materials than your average sort of mid-sized family sedan and

that's mostly true lots of nice soft stuff low gloss surfaces padding or your

arms and your elbows land but like anything with kind of a low roofline

coupe like profile like this you do get limited visibility out the rear window

and some limited Headroom especially if you like to sit high like I do

as far as technology goes a lot of stuff kind of borrowed from Audi here virtual

gauges here to show things like your navigation system or the actual dials

themselves Audio viously being a Volkswagen Group brand and even some of

the styling elements up here things like these veins across the dashboard here

we've seen that in some outtie products they make their way over to the RT on

here and kind of echo some of the styling you see up front on

the car infotainment here an eight inch screen is standard with apple carplay

and android auto nice to see Volkswagen has physical volume and tuning knobs

now Volkswagen claims a little more interior room in the RT on versus the cc

getting into the backseat adults will still have to kind of duck down to get

in because of that roofline but once you're in you're actually pretty roomy

I'm six feet tall that's where I'd sit to drive as you can see I've got a lot

of knee room left over reasonably high seating position and head room to spare

now when the art town goes on sale in the US it's going to have one engine

it's a 2 liter turbocharged 4-cylinder good for 268 horsepower it drives the

front wheels or optional all-wheel drive through an 8-speed automatic

transmission now pricing still to be determined but

Volkswagen says this is again going to be a premium car positioned above the

Passat so it's a good guess to say it's going to start in the low $30,000 range

top out in the low $40,000 range stay tuned for full information on this

car including our driving impressions closer the all-new archaeans on sale

date in late summer of 2018
