Ciao everyone, here it's Marchettino and today we go for Martini, much shaken, not stirred!
As you know, I'm a great lover of the Porsche GT3, recently I drove a manual one on track and I had really good fun -
if you haven't seen it yet, click above here.
And today thanks to my friends at AutoExclusive from Pistoia I'm driving the top, the Porsche 991 GT3RS!
Basically if you want the best from a 911 you get this or a GT2 RS.
Honestly I would go for GT3RS for the simple reason that here we have a naturally aspirated engine, and what an engine!
We have a fabulous 4.0L flat-six that generates 500hp and 460nm of torque.
It's a real shame that by opening the engine bay the engine can't be seen,
but if we press the button to open the valves of the exhaust, you can hear the engine properly!
And I'm still driving in normal mode!
Compared to a GT3, the GT3 RS is more extreme in everything
by starting from the look, this car is truly exaggerated, just look at the wing!
Or better to say, what a massive clotheshorse behind!
By looking at the rear view mirror, what I see is this giant spoiler
and from the side view mirrors I see also these magnificent carbon air intakes.
And I have to say, the GT3 RS is not just ricey and beautiful to look at but
it's simply fantastic to drive, in fact let's switch to manual gear change, Sport mode, stiff suspensions - as if they were soft in standard mode - let's see how it goes!
I think this is the ultimate trackday car, but if you find roads like these in the tuscan countryside,
this car is able to offer unique sensations and emotions!
Basically, the more I rev it up, the more I need to raise my voice! The soundproofing is very low.
Above 6000rpm this engine shout, to say the least!
'till 900rpm!
The sensation you have behind the wheel of this car is that you're driving a racecar!
Behind the wheel you're wrapped by this magnificent carbon fibre seat,
the idea is to have someone that holds your side just behind you.
And just like a racecar, by looking at the rear view mirror you can't inevitably notice this huge rollbar system that replaces the rear seats.
I have to admit, in acceleration the engine doesn't keep you pushed to the seat also because 460nm of torque is not that much
but I have to say the car is light enough and above 5000/5500rpm you take the best out this engine!
Let's say with a sound like this you always want to push it to 9000rpm!
This flat-six is linked to a 7-speed PDK double clutch transmission and honestly,
I think the PDK is one of the best if not, the best double clutch available on the market.
and by pressing the paddles behind the steering wheel you have truly immediate and enraged gear changes!
A tunnel, my natural habitat!
Let's say with a 9000rpm naturally aspirated engine, I would look for tunnels like this all day long!
Driving the GT3RS around roads like these, you can appreciate its dynamic qualities
because one of the biggest changes made to this model is the introduction of the rear steering tires.
This system allows to the GT3RS to be more directional and agile, especially around these roads and tight corners.
Around these roads I can appreciate and enjoy this steering which is fantastic, to say the least! Precise, truly direct!
I also like to touch this alcantara that gives an even more sporty character!
What I really like about this steering is that it doesn't have buttons or features, it's a pure and simple steering simply designed to make the car steer,
unlike most supercars with steering wheels filled of buttons that make the car more confusional.
At this point of the video you may have understood the GT3 RS is a car built with no compromises,
it's a car designed to go fast at all costs!
If I had a GT3RS I would hardly use it every day, it's a car with a low visibility, it's uncomfy, it attracts a lot the attention
but if you take it a Sunday afternoon around roads like this well,
it's a car absolutely fulfilling!
And you realize you have spent the best 200k € of your life for a car like this!
We live in a era where even more manufacturers tend to downsize and build turbo engines, naturally aspirated engines are disappearing and honestly if you have one of these, keep a tight hold on it!
On most models of the 911 lineup Porsche has introduced the turbo engine and who knows, I think it's justa a matter of time before the arrival of the turbo engine also on the GT3 RS.
But I have to say that an engine with such immediate response and throttle so ready, it's priceless, irreplaceable!
It's a pity the GT3 RS is available only PDK, if you want a manual you have to go for a GT3 but I have to say that overall, both manual and PDK
the GT3 and GT3 RS I think they're two of the most satisfying, engaging and beautiful cars that a petrolhead can experience in his life!
I wonder, is it really worth it to pay this difference? I think the average user won't be able to notice this huge difference between GT3 and GT3 RS
but I have to say, if you're addicted to the track and love to go fast, the GT3 RS is undoubtedly the choice to do.
Honestly, you already know my personal choice, GT3, manual, colour? Riviera blue!
Let's do the tunnel again!
Sound of this flat-six is wonderful, to say the least!
It makes you want to rev the engine to 9000rpm all the time because it has such an enraged and deep sound that
the more it revs up, the more it gets deeper, stronger!
By giving you a bit the feeling to be driving a GT3 CUP!
Guys, what to say.. GT3 RS, this car is the evidence that Porsche doesn't make cars but real weapons!
This car is uncomfy, noisy, it attracts too much the attention,
look at also how it's low so you're going to scrape everywhere, but this car has also defects!
I love the way this car is truly spartan, just look at the door handles! Porsche did this to save weight!
Overall I have to say that as italian, as Ferrarista, this car is a jewel, it's one of the most engaging and fun cars on the market
and thanks to the friends at AutoExclusive from Pistoia for letting me test it.
As you might have seen their showroom is not bad at all, they have lots of supercars and exotics and who knows, let's see what test drive is coming next!
