MASS AT NOTRE DAME CATHEDRAL (PARIS, FRANCE) | Eileen Aldis - Duration: 5:26.

Good morning guys!

Morning!

It's a little bit early so I still have my morning voice but

we are headed this morning to Mass at Notre Dame Cathedral to the Gregorian Mass.

So we are staying in Montmartre and from here it's about forty-five minutes on the metro

to get to the cathedral so that's where we're headed now.

These steps that we're going down right now are in the movie Amélie

so of course we love them.

Yeah.

We try to take them as much as we can.

Yeah.

And this is the subway stop in Amélie where she's explaining all the things to the blind man

and then she drops him here.

There are a lot of steps in Montmartre and this subway station is no exception.

Look at these ads - I love these.

So we've just coming from seeing the Gregorian Mass at Notre Dame Cathedral

and it's definitely worth coming to see this cathedral if you're in Paris.

It's enormously old and historic.

They started building it in 1163

and they've been doing Mass there for a very long time -

sorry, I'm sick - and they have regular Masses.

So if you would like to go and visit then I would highly recommend going during a Mass

either to partake yourself and sit in on it or to visit around the periphery while there's a Mass going on

because of the music.

They play beautiful, beautiful music.

There's a full choir.

They have soloists.

You'll hear the priests chanting and I just think it's absolutely beautiful

and it's like time travel because when you look up and ignore the lights and the speakers

and kind of use your imagination, to me, it's like being there at any time,

you know, from now until the 1100s when it was built.

So it's a really special opportunity, I think.

Did you enjoy it?

I loved it, yeah.

I couldn't understand anything they were saying because it was all in different languages.

Yeah.

But it was just neat to be there and look around and feel that energy in the air and…

…and the ritual and the symbolism and, yeah, I didn't understand anything either but

to me that's not the point.

It's just being there in that space and feeling that energy and

having that music cascade over you from the organ as well.

Oh my god the organ is unbelievable the way that enormous organ sounds

when it plays and just the sound reverberates throughout this massive cathedral.

To me that's…that's worth it

and the choir is so, so beautiful.

And looking up at the stained glass is also incredible.

Yes!

The stained glass dated back to about the 1200s which is just mind-boggling.

It really is unbelievable.

So highly recommend going to see Notre Dame first of all

and it's incredible from the outside as well.

You can see the beautiful details and the towers and the gargoyles that dot the outside.

It's…it's really something to see

and going during Mass, again, is what I would recommend.

For sure.

I personally found it really meaningful to be there and I'm…I'm glad that we went

this Sunday morning and now the sun is out and

it's just a beautiful feeling to come out from Notre Dame Cathedral

and find yourself in the middle of Paris on a Sunday morning.

Wow.

I think we should go get some ice cream.

And you must be wondering why I'm wearing a bathrobe

We're going to get to that

I'm staying at this awesome hotel

Called Dooley's

which is right downtown

And we are about to go explore what they call the ancient east here

We're going to do this really cool bike riding trip

We've arrived to Kilmacthomas

Which is about the center point of the Waterford Greenway

A 42 kilometer bike trail

Which has some amazingly scenic views

We're starting in the middle

So that we can catch some of this

I don't think we have enough energy as a group to do 42 kilometers today

We're about to go rent the bikes

And start this journey

Todd didn't you do the Tour de France like 15 years ago

Oh yeah I won

Light drizzle, what a shock we're in Ireland

We're heading west towards Dungarvan

And I think we're going to make a lot of really cool stops

Going in this direction

You can see our first rainbow of this ride right there

We keep stopping every 5 minutes because we're all bloggers and vloggers

So I think this ride is going to take a little bit longer than 2 hours

The weather here keeps changing so much

I'm about to go look for my sunglasses

I've taken my jacket off

We've gone from winter to the fall

To I dunno maybe late may right now

There's always the threat of rain

But it's been a really nice ride

Up for a little race?

Well I just got my butt thoroughly kicked by Dave

I've got to work on my racing skills

We're about to walk in here to get some coffee

Pulled over here, met some really nice local people

And I have to say that the people in Ireland

Have been some of the friendliest that I've ever met

Anywhere in the world

They will always get into a conversation with you

And then we're going to decide what we're doing for the rest of the day

Donald Trump Is Killing The Iran Deal - Duration: 5:04.

Well it happened. As I warned was likely three months ago Trump has chosen not to certify

Iran's compliance with the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action. The JCPOA is more informally

known as the Iran Nuclear Deal. The deal isn't dead yet. But Trump, in a very Trumpian move,

has decided to boot the question to congress. The idea here is that they'll somehow come

up with a better deal. Trump maintains the threat to just kill US participation in the

deal if he doesn't like what they come up with. In his mind he can just blame congress

if this happens.

This is nuts on a number of levels. First off, Congress can't unilaterally improve

the Iran deal. The deal was agreed upon by a range of international actors, including

the US, Iran, Russia, China, France, Germany, the UK, and the European Union. This wasn't

just fig leaf multilateralism. The Sanctions that brought Iran to the table need all of

those powers to work. The US is almost free of Middle East petroleum now, we get what

we need from Canada, Venezuela, Mexico and Saudi Arabia. Even Saudi Arabia isn't all

that important to our petroleum mix anymore. Whether or not we buy Iranian oil isn't

important. It's the Chinese, Indian and European buyers that matter for Sanctions

against Iran.

So the US Congress Doesn't have the power to "improve the deal". We need our allies

to get on board for any renegotiation. And it's pretty clear that that's not going

to happen. Here is the European Union's reply to Trump's speech.

The Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action... The JCPOA. It is not a a bi-lateral agreement.

It does not belong to any single country, and it is not up to any single country to

terminate it. It is a multi-lateral agreement which was unanimously endorsed by the United

Nations Security Council resolution 2231. The International Atomic Energy Agency, the

IEA, as verified eight times that Iran is implementing all its nuclear related commitments,

following a comprehensive and strict monitoring system.

There have been no violations of any of the commitments included in the agreement. The

United States Domestic Process. And I underline domestic, following today's announcement of

President Trump is now in the hands of the United States Congress. The JCPOA is not a

domestic issue but a UN security council resolution. The international community and the European

Union with it, has clearly indicated that the deal is and will continue to be in place.

It's not just the EU and every other party to the deal that thinks Iran is in compliance.

US Secretary of Defense James Mattis thinks they are complying. So does Secretary of State

Rex Tillerson. So does Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Joseph Dunford. Everybody

except for Donald Trump and the usual Neocon suspects thinks that Iran is complying.

We're the bad guys here. That's nothing new. But what is new is that everybody now

knows we're the bad guys here. This is dangerous and it was a really, really dumb thing for

Trump to do.

It's very hard to predict what happens now. Congress is very likely to fail to come up

with a better solution. And even if they do come up with a solution that satisfies Washington,

DC's bipartisan clutch of Iran haters, the international community is likely to ignore

any sanctions we propose. It's possible Congress won't come up with anything and

that Trump will then get distracted by something else that's shiny, and won't do anything.

That's what we all have to hope for. So the best case scenario is that US leadership

on this issue completely disappears. The worst case scenario is one in which the US tries

to unilaterally force the world into Iran sanctions that the world does not want. Successful

or not, This would create a world-wide coalition of people that are sick of US leadership,

and might start seriously thinking about how to end it. More on that next time.
