Youtube daily report w Oct 17 2017

Hi, my name is Margaret. We're at the Woonsocket Senior Center. Today is August 15th

and we're recording "My Woonsocket Life" story of Claire. Hi, Claire! Hi! How are you? Good.

I remember all the nice stores we used to have, you know, Kornstein's, Lerner's, Falk Brothers, you know.

McCarthy's, you know, I kind of miss all those nice stores. [Laughs]

We're close to everything, you know. I like, yeah you know, it's nice, you know. I'm close to everything, you know, the church, the schools when the kids

were growing up. You know, it's been nice.

Well, nowadays, now that I'm a senior, it's, yeah, it's challenging to try to keep your house. The taxes are high

and it's a challenge to try to make ends meet. That's what I would say.

More small businesses, you know, coming to the city,

or where the taxes would be nice.

How Often Do You Really Need to Shower? - Duration: 2:40.

Nothing really beats a steamy shower to relax after a hard workout.

And good hygiene is how we protect ourselves from infections, and the social stigma of

being smelly.

But do you really need a daily shower to stay clean, or is it doing more harm than good?

It turns out, there aren't any definite rules, but some scientists have recommendations

based on what we know about the biology of our skin — and what might be living on top of it.

Your skin is a giant organ that physically blocks harmful stuff from getting inside your body.

It's covered in a bustling community of bacteria, fungi, viruses, and even teeny-tiny arthropods.

They make up what's known as your skin microbiome.

For the most part, researchers think that these microbes you carry with you are pretty harmless.

But as you interact with the world, you can pick up other microbes that could make you sick.

And when you, like, rub your eyes or put food in your mouth, your hands can help those germs

slip past your skin and get into your body.

That's why washing your hands with soap is so important, especially if you work in

medicine or food service.

See, soap is a surfactant, which means it's made of molecules that can bind to water and

things like dirt, oils, or bacteria.

This lets you rinse all that junk away.

And fewer germs means a lower chance of infections.

But what about washing the rest of your body?

Well, your skin has glands that are always producing sweat and oils, which cools you

down and keeps your skin moisturized and healthy.

But there's a fine balance.

Certain bacteria break down sweat, and release smelly molecules like thioalcohols.

And if your skin has too much dirt, dead skin cells, or oils, your pores can get clogged,

leading to problems like acne.

So showering with soap can help get rid of some sweat and oil, to manage your looks and smell.

And in some cases, like the night before a surgery, a doctor might tell you to shower

with an antimicrobial soap, which has extra chemicals to kill microbes.

If a surgeon is making cuts in your skin, they don't want any potentially dangerous

stuff sneaking in.

On the other hand, showering too often might not be great for you either.

For one, it can mess with the microbes that naturally live on your skin.

And since soap and water wash away oils, your skin might get too dry so the outer layer

cracks, making it easier for disease-causing microbes to slip into your body.

So dermatologists seem to say that daily showers where you scrub everywhere with soap is probably

overkill, unless you sweat a lot, like people who work out every day.

Otherwise, showering every couple of days should be just fine, to keep your skin microbiome

healthy and happy.

KRACK - Key Reinstallation Attacks: Forcing Nonce Reuse in WPA2 - Duration: 10:04.

A lot of hacking videos on youtube are about Wifi hacking.

They show how you can use various tools, on Kali linux, like aircrack or some deauther

to DoS clients.

But I never wanted to do that, I find it quite boring.

That doesn't mean that I'm entirely not interested in wifi hacking, it's just that

if I would make a video about it, it would be about one specific attack in detail, how

it works, rather than just how to use a tool.

And so with the recent disclosure for KRACK - Key Reinstallation Attacks on WPA2, I figured,

that's the perfect moment to do exactly that.

"Key Reinstallation Attacks: Forcing Nonce Reuse in WPA2" by Mathy Vanhoef released

around October 2017, is a paper detailing a specific protocol flaw.

And I encourage you to read this paper, because the news around this attack is obviously going

completely insane with sooo much misinformation going around.

And so if you are actually interested in what this attack means, how it works, and what

are the actual threats read it from the source.

I know papers can look intimidating, but it's often enough to read the "Abstract" and

the "Conclusion" to get a good intuition for what this is about.

And then you have all the content in between to go more indepth.

So let's start with that.

"All protected Wi-Fi networks use the 4-way handshake to generate a fresh session key.

[...] However, we show that the 4-way handshake is vulnerable to a key reinstallation

attack.

Here, the adversary tricks a victim into reinstalling an already-in-use key.

This is achieved by manipulating and replaying handshake messages.

When reinstalling the key, associated parameters such as the incremental transmit packet number

(nonce) and receive packet number (replay counter) are

reset to their initial value.

Our key reinstallation attack also breaks the PeerKey, group key, and Fast BSS Transition

handshake.

The impact depends on the handshake being attacked, and the data-confidentiality protocol

in use.

Notably, our attack is exceptionally devastating against Android 6.0: it forces the client

into using a predictable all-zero encryption key"

So, there is a lot of information here and so let's try to dissect the meaning of this.

"All protected Wi-Fi networks use the 4-way handshake to generate a fresh session key".

Figure 2 shows the messages exchanged when a client connects to an access point.

And of course those initial messages are not encrypted.

You see that after the 4-way handshake "encrypted data frames can now be exchanged".

The fresh session key they were talking about is the the PTK (the Pairwise Transient Key),

which is derived here.

The PTK is "generated by concatenating the Pairwise master key, which itself is derived

from basically the password you enter for the Wifi, the Access Point nonce (ANonce),

you see it here being sent from the access point to the client and the client nonce (SNonce),

which is generated by the client and sent to the access point, but that's not all,

also the access point MAC address, and the station MAC address is used in the generation

of PTK.

So using this pre-shared secret (the wifi password) both the client and the server now

know the same Pairwise Transient Key.

And you can already see here what that means generally for the security.

If anybody else also knows the wifi password, and observes these nonces being exchanged

they can derive your Pairwise Transient Key and can decrypt your traffic.

So when you connect to a "secure" wifi in a hotel, you might not be as secure as

you thought you would be.

But that's a different issues.

And then there are different protocols to actually implement the encryption.

For example if TKIP is used then the encryption algorithm is RC4 and that is basically the

same as WEP, and therefore vulnerable to a number of similar attacks.

But another option is "the CCMP protocol, which is AES in

CCM mode (counter mode with CBC-MAC).

[... it is] secure as long as no Initialization Vector (IV) is repeated under a particular

key.

And the IV here is the nonce.

And the nonce is again constantly incremented to make sure it will never repeat.

And basically the same is true for the GCMP protocol, it uses AES-GCM, and is secure as

long as no IV is repeated under a particular key.

If that sounds weird to you, you could watch my video "Breaking ECDSA (Elliptic Curve

Cryptography)".

Of course ECDSA is very strong but there can be a flaw if it's not properly implemented,

namely if a fixed value is used for a parameter instead of a random one.

So very similar in the sense that the security of a crypto algorithm can be very fragile.

And so for these algorithms, if the IV, the nonce, is reused for the same key it can probably

be broken.

So you can kinda see where this is going.

Let's continue reading,

"[...], we show that the 4-way handshake is vulnerable to a key reinstallation attack.

Here, the adversary tricks a victim into reinstalling an already-in-use key.

This is achieved by manipulating and replaying handshake messages."

Just in case it confuses you what "reinstalling" or "installing" the key, it basically

just means that the protocol decided "this is the key we use".

If we make an analogy how that is implemented in code, it's basically just assigning the

key now to the variable "the_key_we_use".

Ok.

So radio networks, or any other communication has to handle the case when messages get lost.

And they have to agree how to handle that.

For example retransmitting them.

And so, "[...], because messages may be lost or dropped, the Access Point will retransmit

message 3 if it did not receive an appropriate response as acknowledgment.

As a result, the client may receive message 3 multiple times.

Each time it receives this message, it will reinstall the same session key, and thereby

reset the incremental transmit packet number (nonce) [...].

We show that an attacker can force these nonce resets by collecting and replaying retransmissions

of message 3"

"When reinstalling the key, associated parameters such as the incremental transmit packet number

(nonce) and receive packet number (replay counter) are reset to their initial value."

"Depending on which protocol is used, this allows an adversary to replay, decrypt, and/or

forge packets."

And so it's now pretty easy to imagine that if you can keep resetting the key parameters

some crypto stuff will be f'ed up.

And this is a protocol flaw because the official specification tells you that message 3 could

be resent and you have to reset the parameters.

Thus resetting the crypto algorithm parameters.

And thus opening the door for certain crypto attackes depending on which crypto algorithm

is used.

Some are more susceptible than others.

The author also checked the behaviour of different implementations and it turns out iOS and Windows

both don't follow the spec and don't accept the retransmission of message 3.

And the worst implementation is by some linux based systems because there is an additional

implementation bug that resets the key to all zeroes.

So you don't even have to perform this crypto attack, limiting you to maybe "only" decryption,

I don't know.

Because with this flaw you actually now know the key because all the values are set to

0.

Okay.

There are a lot of technical details and challenges and nuances that you can read about in the

paper.

I presented it more simplified but hopefully it's more accurate than some other news

headlines.

So summarise.

WAP2 uses a 4way handshake where nonces are exchanged and used together with the wifi

password to generate a key.

This key is then used for encrypting packets.

How it is used depends on the actual crypto algorithm being used.

A lot of crypto algorithms are very fragile when certain values are reused.

And the attack presented in this paper is about forcing a reset of these values - specifically

the nonce which would be constantly incremented and thus would always be different.

And thus opening the door to perform certain crypto attacks.

And this is a protocol design flaw.

But additionally, during this research, a very serious software bug was discovered where

on certain implementations the key was not just reset to initial parameters, but was

actually set to 0.

So you actually know the key and you don't have to perform a crypto attack.

But you know what.

Why don't read the paper.

You don't learn hacking when reading security news headlines or use the tool Mathy Vanhoef

wrote.

Go read the actual research, or at least parts of it.

PsychoPhobia [Doom II mod] - Duration: 11:40.

This first part of the video was kindly recorded, edited and submitted by RiboZurai.

In addition to the wide range of new stuff the size and detailing of maps certainly consist in one

of PsychoPhobia's highlights. An interesting feature is a laboratory where the player can

summon monsters to fight them or having them fighting each other. Another point that deserve to be

highlighted is the excelent soundtrack, composed mostly by John S. Weekley.

The PsychoPhobia intro is a show on itself, however it has almost a minute and a half in length.

I decided to present it in a separate video in order to prevent this one from getting boring.

The classes available in PsychoPhobia are the Vigilante, Caleb, Doom, Train and Voodoo.

You can play using Freedoom's phase 2, but you will get some missing sprites in some enemies

animations, something that can easily be fixed if you use the 3D monster models too.

There are also versions of mod without maps for you to play with the originals ones or others

of your preference. These versions seem to run without missing textures in DOOM.WAD structured

IWADs, like The Ultimate Doom, and without missing sprites in any of the Freedoom's phases.

Now, I'm going to play the PsychoPhobia mapless version with 3D monsters on Doom II's Map 01.

Hehehe... I liked this hatchet here. It promotes a huge gory mess. It will please everybody.

I still couldn't get used to these mods without automatic weapon reloading...

The 3D monsters are very cool and the weapons look far better than many

mods that simply tried to create sprites from other game's 3D models.

The development of this mod started in 2008, and, just a few years, produced these

impressive results. On PsychoPhobia at Mod DB is said to be PWAD is still in

development, however slowly. Can we expect more good things here?

Used version: PsychoPhobia v2.25

What Will Happen If All The Bees Died? - Duration: 5:05.

What Will Happen If All The Bees Died?

Bees.

We donít all agree about bees, but non objectively speaking, beeís are great.

I like bees.

And so should youÖif you donít perhaps this five minute video will change your mind.

Hello and welcome back to Lifeís Biggest questions, I am Rebecca Felgate and today

I am asking What if the Bees all died.

A small question for you before we begin answering this big question - are you a subscriber to

our channel?

If you want to become a questioner like me then hit that big red subscribe buttonÖand

make sure you watch all the way through to the end of or video for some recommendations

for other videos we think you will like.

OkayÖback to the bees.

You may have heard people say things like ìwellÖ.if all the bees die, humanity would

die out tooîÖ.cue lightning strikes, earthquakes and general pandemonium.

While that sentence is petty far fetched, we would be pretty screwed without our furry

buzzing friends and here is why.

Bees have a very important job ñ not only do they provide us with delicious honey and

wax, they pollenate.

Pollination is a serious business and allows a huge amount of fruits, nuts and bean plants

to grow.

Pollination also allows for the production of cotton.

Bees are the worlds main pollinator.

Bees are fuzzy and perfect for collecting pollen and transferring it from male to female

plants as they buzz around looking for nectar.

While bees are not the only insect that has the ability to pollinate, they account for

around 70 percent of the worldís pollinationÖso without them our food and clothing sources

would be greatly depleted.

If all the bees died, a lack of lovely honey would be the least of our problems.

While we would still be able to make wax, there would be no bees wax aroundÖ.

But againÖ.

That we could live without.

What we probably would struggle to live without is apples, mangoes, almonds, plums, peaches,

nectarines, strawberries, apricots, avocados, cherries, lemons, limes, raspberries, cranberries,

grapes, tomatoes, onions, almonds, cashew nuts, chestnuts, Kidney beans, lima beans,

sunflower oilÖ..coffee!!!!!

Okay I got slightly bored of naming produce because actuallyÖthe list is pretty endlessÖbut

they are just some of the things that would be at least 70 percent depleted if bees diedÖ.which

means any of these things that did still manage to grow would be hella expensive.

See ya StarbucksÖand what will us millennials do with the price of avocado toast soaring

much higher than the prices of all these houses weíre supposed to be saving for?

While I may be making light of this depletion in our food source, it is actually pretty

darn serious.

The knock on effect from a 70 percent decrease in these things is pretty wild too.

Some of you may remember mad cow disease?

It was a neurodegenerative disease caught by swathes cattle because they were, to put

it really simply, eating terrible food often made from other cows brains.

Not cool.

These days responsible farmers feed their cattle and other live stock are fed things

like almonds and other natural produceÖ.whichÖ.uh ohÖ.waitÖhow are we going to feed the cows

now the bees have died and left us more than semi-nutless.

Problems.

And if we canít feed the cows and chickens, what will happen to cheese, milk, eggs, butter

and meat, for those of you that still eat it.

More of our food supplies goneÖwhich is a problem when the worldís population keeps

on swelling.

Without the beeís aiding pollinationÖthere is no nice way to put itÖ.we will starve.

Yes, we can still eat wind pollinated goods like corn and rice, but at the moment there

is not enough to go around as a main food source for allÖ.

StarvingÖand maybe a little bit nakedÖseeing as cotton plants would be pretty barren sans

bees.

WaitÖstarvingÖa little bit nude and poorÖ.doesnít sound funÖ.but it is true Ö in the Unites

States, Bees are reported to bring in over 15 billion dollars in crop value alone.

SoÖwho is thinking that this sounds like absolutely no fun.

I am raising my handÖyou just canít actually see meÖ.

WellÖyou may be concerned to hear that honey bees are on the declineÖthe sharp decline.

Pesticides are confusing bees, leading to colony collapse disorder, the abandonment

of hives, which causes their colony to die off.

Itís not just pesticides leading to the decline in bees, either, climate change is having

a huge effect on them.

Reportedly the honeybee population of the United States is half of what it was during

the 1950s.

So, we know now what could happen if all the bees diedÖ.However, it doesnít need to end

this way.

During his Presidency, Obama established the Pollinator Health Task Force to help protect

bees environments, knowing they are crucial for the food chain.

You can even help by growing pesticide free flowers and keeping water in your garden in

the summerÖhurrah for bees!

Thanks for tuning into this episode of Lifeís Biggest Questions.

I would love to hear your thoughts as you are the bee professionals!

today!

I am Rebecca Felgate, Iíll catch you in the next videoÖbut for now, stay curious, stay

alert and never ever stop questioning.

What is Disability Insurance? | Humana - Duration: 2:10.

Today's question: "What is disability insurance coverage?"

The simple answer is that disability insurance is a way to cover expenses when you can't

work because of illness or injury.

Payments from disability insurance can be used for anything you need like mortgage payments,

groceries, car payments or college tuition.

Whatever your expenses, disability insurance payments can help keep your life on track,

even when your health isn't.

Here's an example.

Linda has a good job with a trucking company.

For her 40th birthday, her kids have the world's best idea: a horseback ride through the mountains

outside town.

Unfortunately, it's not all happy trails.

After a victory lap around the corral, Linda climbs off her horse, steps into a bucket

and does some pretty major damage to her ankle.

Since Linda's job involves a lot of walking around, this is a problem.

Good thing Linda signed up for her own Humana disability insurance policy last time it was

offered at work.

No matter what your budget, Humana disability insurance can help you take care of yourself

even if you can't go to work.

Benefits Include coverage when you're disabled because of an illness, and benefits for a

short time like a few months or as long as three years.

Many people want disability insurance that they can keep even if they leave their job

for any reason and getting your own policy through Humana can make that happen.

Finally, Humana's disability coverage gives benefits even if you're able to return to

work and resume 20-80% of your duties.

In that case, you'll still receive half your disability benefit for up to six months after

you go back to work.

In Linda's case, this was a real help.

Even though she was back at work in about three weeks, she still needed to take it easy

and had to go to physical therapy several days a week so she could only work part-time.

Until she was back at work full-time, Humana's disability insurance helped cover her family's

bills and a few extra things too.

To sum it up, if you become ill or injured, Humana disability insurance can help keep

your family on its feet until you're back on yours.

So now you know about Humana disability insurance coverage.

Until next time, stay smart and stay healthy.

I might be a saint

I'd like to be proud, but somehow I'm ashamed

I gotta be honest, I don't know if I could take it

Everybody's talking, but what's anybody saying?

Mama said if I really want to, then I can change

Rip to my youth

If you really listen, then this is to you

Mama, there is only so much I can do

Tough for you to witness it but it was for me too

I'm using white lighters to see

Put me in the dirt, let me dream with the stars

Throw me in a box with the oxygen off

You gave me the key then you locked every lock

When I can't breathe, I won't ask you to stop

When I can't breathe, don't call for a cop

I was naive and hopeful and lost

Now I'm aware and trapped in my thoughts

Rip to my youth

Breaking Former Trump Campaign Worker Shot 13 Times While He Was Sleeping & That's Not The Worst Par - Duration: 31:40.

Breaking Former Trump Campaign Worker Shot 13 Times While He Was Sleeping & That's

Not The Worst Part

Sad news…

Former Trump campaign worker is shot 13 times while he slept.

This is a cruel attack and the motive is sickening, but the media is shocked because this man

was a big Trump supporter and he was actively involved in his campaign.

But the worst part of the story is why he was killed- a shocking story about a lunatic

roommate who gave a chilling answer to the police.

Read more below:

President Trump didn't win the presidency alone.

He had a stellar team behind him of paid staff, volunteers, and interns who helped make sure

his America First message got to the American people.

The Trump campaign was a huge success because of the hard work of Trump and his entire team.

Now Fox News is reporting tragic news out of Florida, as a member of Trump's 2016

campaign and former Republican staffer for Senator Marco Rubio was discovered shot to

death at his apartment.

Nick Corvino was 30-years-old and resided in Kissimmee, Florida.

He was found dead earlier this week and had been shot 13 times while he slept including

in his legs, back, and head, according to the arrest affidavit.

Corvino's roommate, 45-year-old Scott Waddell was arrested and has been charged with first-degree

murder.

He told police that he "sometimes has homicidal thoughts about killing young men, but has

never acted on them."

Police then searched the apartment, found Corvino dead and arrested Waddell.

There were cameras in the apartment that captured the time before the killing and after.

Police said they "believed the fired shots set off the alarms, which turned on the cameras."

Waddell told police he is "mentally disabled" and takes medication, although it is not clear

which kind, and he didn't even realize he had murdered his roommate.

"He said he woke up scared and being in Nicholas' room where he saw Nicolas covered

in blood with a gun lying next to him," the arrest affidavit says.

Waddell owns a shotgun and a handgun, and says he doesn't remember killing Corvino

who he has been "best friends" with for 10 years.

This is tragic news for Corvino's family and Republican politics.

Corvino worked for Trump-supporting Florida AG Pam Bondi and for Marco Rubio and the Trump

campaign.

Bondi said she was "heartbroken" to hear of the death of such a "great young man."

"Nick Corvino was a great young man who had his entire life ahead of him," Bondi

said.

"He was charismatic and kind."

H/T WorldNewsPolitics

This is very sad, disgusting.

Let's hope leftists are going to shut their mouths and don't mock the dead victim.

Please pray for the Corvino family, they need your thoughts and prayers right now, he was

a young man, he passed away too early.

Rest in peace…

Madalyn - 2017 Scholarship Recipient - Duration: 2:07.

My name is Madalyn Horn.

I received the Rotary scholarship through Auburn.

And I'm studying for my Associate's of Business direct transfer agreement.

I have a small family, and being able to get money through school and get the support means

that I don't have to spend so much time away from my son while going to school, and working

a job at the same time.

So, it's amazing.

Being a young mom, I was 16 at the time, comes with a lot of challenges.

And everyone told us that we wouldn't amount to anything, you know, we'd drop out of high

school, and getting this scholarship really like--not only did it help money-wise, but

it also gave you that little pick-me-up and said: you earned this, you're doing good,

you don't need to drop out, you know, you're doing the right thing for your family.

All of my teachers were really amazing, but especially Jamie Harmon.

She's my biology teacher, and she wrote my recommendation letter for the scholarship

and words cannot express how much she helped me.

The further you get along, the more expensive it gets, and the harder it seems to continue,

because grades and just the way it hits you--there is that money aspect but then there's just

that support, and it's just saying, hey, we chose you, you've worked really hard, and

we see that and appreciate it, and I've sure every student here could agree that that means

the world to them.

LIVE ART: Unity Isn't Just a Dream - Duration: 11:38.

In every single city, in every single town

we are, feels like going out of our way

to draw lines and to draw barriers and say

you stay here and I stay here.

We're creating such lines that are

That I think don't need to be there, and so we see it daily.

The flower lady is good. Okay.

Nobody seems to be listening.

The ability to listen and learn from each other

seems to be at a minimum these days.

And I think sometimes people stand up and they say,

well, I believe this and I believe that

because they just want to be heard, they want to be seen.

They're saying I want love, I want love, I want love.

it's more common than not

that people tend to be more polarized and broken

in relationships as opposed to looking for ways to connect.

More than disconnected and more than just sadness,

like a sense of I don't belong here

so what am I gonna do, and that breaks apart in society

as you have these groups of people that don't feel like

they belong and then they get kind of shut out,

their lives become very difficult to lead

because they feel that nobody is really supporting them.

In some ways the ways that we're all connected now like this,

we might need a little bit more of connection like this.

There are ways that we can teach each other

and learn from each other that can only happen in person.

When you're ready, what you'll do is

you'll put your hands in the air,

and your partners are gonna guide your hands

to the edge of the canvas so you can kind of get a feel

for the size and get your bearings.

Come here.

And when you're ready, you'll put your hands.

I'm gonna try my best to be concise,

but it's hard to be concise because I want to keep talking

because I'm so in awe of Live Art.

Oh my gosh, that's so cool.

Live Art is an all-inclusive arts program

that nurtures the talents of all artistic peoples.

Whether you're a technician, a dancer,

a poet, a singer, Live Art is going to present to you

a very challenging curriculum

where we're gonna mix and match the art mediums

so that you are challenged and you grow as an artist.

And that curriculum includes in it a core-value system

of acceptance, compassion and empathy.

And what do I mean by that

or how does that work in this system?

It's because the mediums are mixed up.

It's because all different types of people are mixed up.

And so the through line is to accept

this circumstances as they are.

I accept that this song is gonna be very challenging for me.

I accept that I have never done this before.

And my compassion and my empathy is that and I am with you

through this and I recognize you for what you do.

I see you, I hear you, I love you.

That's what Live Art is.

(Music playing.)

(Cheering.)

(Clapping.)

Another night and here we are again.

All our faults laid out ahead.

A community event like this has the potential for

incredible ripple effects because

children who might have been marginalized in the past,

other thinkers, you know my son is a painter

and he's brilliant,

but he just couldn't do junior high and high school,

and I think the potential for an event like this is for

people to see that everybody shines in different ways.

(Music playing.)

So I'll tell you what you need.

First thing, we make you feel better.

That little moment when it's just you and your own voice,

and that part of your other voice is telling you

I'm not good enough at this or I don't want to do this,

there is somebody out there that said, you know what,

I think you're really good, you should do this.

And you see all these kids, and these kids are having

that moment right now.

These kids are, just because this moment exists,

they're having a courage to come out there

and show this side of them.

Don't look down.

Hold on forever.

When we reach into ourselves and we share something

really intimate and all, it's wonderful because

when somebody responds to it and responds in a way

that is positive, that little piece of yourself

that you may have wanted to hide away,

which may be the most special part of who you are,

you may all of a sudden have a desire to now,

or not a desire to

but at least the courage to open up about who you are.

So I saw Soul, and after I saw Soul,

right as we were walking out of the Altria,

I was like, Mom, I have to do this.

And so it was my first rehearsal of Blue,

I didn't really know what I was walking into,

and it was a modern movement class,

and it was the love that just radiates out of that room

was just spectacular,

and I think for people with their first Live Art,

I want to help them that there's nothing to be intimidated by,

and I watch them being like, oh, am I gonna know people,

am I gonna have friends, everybody is your friend.

(Laughter.)

They made me a friendship bracelets.

I love that.

This is the real Live Art right here.

I would like to welcome

the rest of our family to the stage, please.

(Applause.) Don't look down. Hold on forever.

Honestly, I feel so honored to be on the stage with you

incredible artists. You're so creative,

and the fact that I get to sing my songs up there

and you guys are showing your talent,

it just warms my heart so much.

The Live Art experience is

really I think primary to what helped her feel like

things were going to be okay

because she felt like she was welcome,

she felt like she could be herself

and nobody was gonna make fun of her.

Alma: Like a rainbow.

The songs the first year to the second, the third, the fourth,

and now, they all just come in,

and it's no one standing there with their head down anymore,

everyone is looking around and their heads,

the confidence is glowing.

Hold on forever.

It's so humbling.

It's so beautiful to see a teenager

do something so compassionate without even saying

this is what you should do, and I think that

that's that growth of the program that we've seeing.

And now it's on our brains where we've created a whole curriculum

based off of showing compassion, empathy and acceptance.

(Music playing.)

Just take my hand, hold on forever.

(Applause.)

I feel like the audience will get this.

You never have to tell an audience

when there's a show that never happens like that again.

I might go on stage in my solo show and the other artists,

and the crowd kind of knows, oh man, he's doing this for us

tonight but tomorrow night he'll be in a different city

doing it for somebody else.

But this show in this form only happens once, tonight,

and I feel like the audience will feel like that they're

in the room for something really, really special.

(Music playing.)

It's out there somewhere.

You're never too old to dream.

Five, four, three, two, one.

(Cheering.)

(Applause.)

When I'm sitting in the audience and everybody around me

is excited and I see people crying

and I know that it's my kid on the stage

who's adding to the crowd's emotions,

that is a really powerful thing

because I felt those emotions for years and years.

Now the extended Richmond community is part of that.

The feeling of constantly being told

your child might not be able to do this,

but then you see your child on stage dancing,

or you see your child who

probably never knew what sign language was and now is signing,

and then you're thinking

my child is capable of doing anything.

Whatever your dream is, wherever your mind lives,

wherever your heart has been guiding you.

It's quite miraculous to see

when through creative arts and play and welcoming,

when that environment exists, I think people naturally

walk in and feel connected to one another.

Is out there somewhere.

In the audience right now are many different ages,

different colors, different people,

different sizes, but pretty soon

they're gonna become the human beings that have gathered

to support the arts and share the arts and absorb the arts

and experience the arts, and they're gonna laugh together

and they're gonna clap together

and they're gonna sing together,

they're gonna ooh and aah together,

and at the end they're gonna stand together.

And it proves to me that there is only one spirit

in the house right now.

There's only one living spirit, it's both in the audience

and it's on stage,

and art is evoking that and bringing that all to presence.

Some people are brave and some are afraid.

There's no substitute for experiencing another person

that is totally different from you are

to become at one with each other, to appreciate each other.

Some of us need a little time to see who we will finally be.

I think that by experiencing that person,

all of a sudden you have walked past the impression that you

put there and all of a sudden you're people with people

and all.

Go ahead, start pushing the limits.

Any time that people all gather together

around one universal thing,

It's a celebration of being human,

it's a celebration of that togetherness

and that connectedness that really is kind of reminding you

that we are way more the same than we are different.

Whatever you're looking for is out there somewhere.

I cried, I cried.

I mean it's like happiness and joy,

and you just can't hold it in.

It makes you feel so proud

cause you know the work that went into it

and how much she loves doing it.

Oh my gosh, if this was your first show

and that was the audience, whoa.

The audience participation, the smiles on the audience,

just seeing the students like, oh my gosh,

oh my gosh, they're smiling.

It's like yeah, cause you know why, cause you're awesome.

It's nobody's business, nobody's business.

I've been doing this for like six years,

and this has been growing and growing and growing,

and SPARC is just the awesome thing you ever been to.

If you're a student out there, please come next year.

Go ahead, start pushing the limits.

I'd love to bring my daughter maybe next year

just to see cause you don't get that degree of interaction

on such a level playing field, enjoying each other,

laughing together, singing together.

That's a beautiful thing to see.

Watching how they really put acceptance and empathy

and compassion to use is just outstanding.

Coming here you could just surround yourself

and think this is really all that's right with the world

and everything is gonna be okay.

Yes, it is. Yes, it is.

Whatever you're looking for is out there somewhere.

(Applause.)

I want them to take it with them.

I want them to take the Live Art love,

the Live Art unity, the Live Art dream

and take it with them into their lives

and be exceptionally kind to people,

be exceptionally inclusive and have people understand that this

is what we need, this is what you need to give to others

and have people take that away and give it to the world.

(Crowd Noise.)

Meet Canada's first lesbian dragon boat team - Duration: 1:24.

Just having women period on a boat is a lot like

like herding cats. They all are very strong-willed women,

and they don't like to be told no a lot,

or where to sit, especially if they've had a recent breakup in the team.

Being on the water is a wonderful experience,

beautiful setting of Vancouver is marvelous

even when it's rainy and miserable. We enjoy every minute of it.

I love being on the water, that's just where I want to be,

is on the water. The power of

all those women in a boat is really something.

I didn't know anything about dragon boat paddling, and

I was actually happy to see a

kind of lesbian group.

Visibility provides power for a minority

group. Empowerment to the team members

I think facilitates more acceptance in general.

I'm just surprised that our team has

only 27 members and not

I don't know, 2,700 members.

Earthquake Preparedness - Duration: 1:49.

Earthquakes in San Diego County. There are several faults that run

through our beautiful San Diego County. Most residents are actually less than 15

minutes from one. The Rose Canyon fault is the only major active earthquake

fault in the urban San Diego area. This fault could produce up to a magnitude 7.4

point four earthquake. Earthquakes this large could cause major damage and cut

off power and services for up to days or weeks. While we can't predict earthquakes

we can take steps now to be prepared. So when the earth starts to shake you will

only have seconds to react.

Don't run outside. most injuries and/or deaths are caused by outdoor hazards and

falling debris. Instead drop down on your hands and

knees. Cover your head and neck with your arms and take shelter under a sturdy

table or desk and hold on until the shaking stops. If you're in bed,

stay there, and protect your head and neck with a pillow. If you are outside,

move away from buildings, trees, power lines and other large objects that could

fall. If you're in a wheelchair, lock the wheels and protect your head and neck

with your arms. If you're driving, pull over until the shaking stops and try to

avoid stopping near power lines trees or under freeway overpasses.

And if you're at the beach, wait until the shaking stops and move inland to

higher ground immediately. Earthquakes can trigger tsunamis that

could arrive in just minutes. To learn more about earthquake preparedness, visit

Julie - 2017 Scholarship Recipient - Duration: 2:28.

I'm Julie Baker, and I'm studying the Aviation Commercial Pilot AAS degree, soon to be the

Bachelor's in Aeronautical Science.

Aviation's a very expensive field to get into, especially if you are flying as part of your

curriculum.

So the scholarship has really helped to cut down on costs for flying.

There's a renter fee for the aircraft, which includes the fuel and the maintenance on it--that's

an hourly fee, and then there's the hourly fee for the instructor as well.

So, it's basically extra income that I don't have to worry about, it's that much less in

student loans that I have to take out, it's that much less that I have to worry about

earning at a job, it's that much more time I can spend with my family instead of working.

Everybody's been great.

There's so many names I could list off.

Kim Mucke, the Program Manager of the aviation department has been great in advising me and

helping me get in touch with different scholarships.

Ben Coats has written me numerous letters of recommendation for scholarships.

John Cirino was my private pilot ground instructor and he inspired me greatly.

I loved being in his class.

Coleman Becker was my club adviser for the Green Tails Arrow Club, and that was a lot

of fun, something I'm looking forward to continuing.

There's so many names that I just can't say them all.

Gosh, just thank you.

You know, you believe in me, and to me that's huge.

That's somebody telling me, hey, you know what, I believe in you, here's some money

to help you reach your goals.

And that's something I've wanted my whole life.

And it's not been something I've been able to do until now, so it makes a huge difference.

Disability Isn't a Bad Word [CC] // aGirlWithLyme - Duration: 3:35.

[Intro Music. Vincent Tone - New Summits.]

Time and time again, I keep seeing people replace the word disabled with other terms

such as handi-capable or differently-abled. But none are willing

to say the word Disabled. They even push these words onto people who have a

Chronic Illness or Disability, who identify themselves as being Disabled.

Disabled is not a bad or a dirty word. Many people do think of Disability as

being something that is negative, so they tend to associate the term Disabled as

being something that is negative, rude, or possibly offensive to say to someone who

is disabled. I have seen so many able-bodied people refer to someone

who has a Disability as 'differently-abled' or 'handi-capable'. And I feel like no

one truly listens to the Disabled community when they say, don't use these

terms, or to not use these terms. So many people who are Disabled, prefer the word

Disabled, and not 'handi-cappable' or 'differently-abled'. Even saying it out

loud, 'handi-cappable' and 'differently-abled' - it sounds so strange. Why can't they just

say Disabled? That's what we are. We're Disabled. We're not 'differently-abled',

we're not 'handi-cappable' whatever the heck of that means. What does 'handi-cappable'

mean? And where did these terms even come from? Of course there are a few

people with Disabilities who do prefer to refer to themselves as 'handi-capable'

or 'differently-abled', and I totally respect that. But I think there is a much

bigger issue with able-bodied people thinking Disability is so shameful that

they can't use the term Disabled, and instead use the term 'differently-abled',

like it's negative or we have to be inspiring, differently abled implies that

we are still able to do some things, just differently. There still seems to be this

narrative that Disability is tragic, that persons with Disabilities should be pitied.

Apparently, if you haven't heard - the only Disability in life is a bad attitude.

I disagree. Bottom line, Disability is not a bad word, and it is in fact what many

persons with Disabilities prefer to be called, or what they use themselves. So, please,

stop using the term 'differently-abled' and 'handi-capable', they're really strange

words to use in place of Disabled. Why can't you just listen to Disabled people,

and what they have to say. In the comments below let me know what your

thoughts are on this. What do you think about the terms 'differently-abled' and

'handi-capable'. Have you heard any other terms for disabled being used? I'm also

currently taking video suggestions, so if there is a video you would like to see

me make, please be sure to leave it in the description below, and I'll be sure

to add it to my list of videos to make. Thank you for watching this video. Please

Mystery School II: Wisdom From The Goddess - Duration: 4:19.

There was a great scientist in India, Ramanujan.

Ramanujan went to London.

He was a clerk, you know, but then he has this Wisdom from the Goddess.

He was able to come up with equations that no mathematicians could do that.

Professor Hardy asked him, "Hey Ramanujan, how is it that you are able to do all, come

up with these equations?

Who gives it to you?"

He said, "the Goddess."

And then [Hardy] he went nuts.

How can you say and go and tell people that the Goddess is giving all these?

You have to give me the steps.

Steps are unnecessary.

You can go to the solution right away, that is The Divine Intelligence.

So you'll bypass time, you'll bypass steps, and then you can get there wherever you want

to, and that's the civilization I want to create.

I want to create a civilization in which steps are not needed.

"Othathu Unnara Oliyil Thanake Atharam Aagiya Arut Perum Jyoti."

"There was a light that came in" — this is Swami Ramalingam, "and I did not have

any knowledge, but this light gave me everything, but not through intellection."

"Othathu Unnara" – "I felt it."

So the same thing with Ramanujan.

Ramanujan got everything from the Goddess right away.

It was more an emotional response and which gave the answers.

So these are some of the things that are very, not only interesting, but very, very practical

and fruitful.

So that's the reason why I am interested.

And then, as I go along, I am at a point in life every moment is literally new to me.

And I just don't want to create time in my life or in your life.

Why should any person wait for one month to get paid at the end of the month or the beginning

of the first day?

There is no need.

It is all because collectively we have committed a suicide.

The educational system, the cultural system, the tradition — have completely ruined our

creativity.

But there is another system you can follow that every time, you can create money.

In the Vedas, for instance, the guy who is doing the Homa (fire ceremony) is asking,

"Give me money every day, Agni."

To the Fire, he's asking.

"I want money every day."

Now, Bill Gates wants money every second, every fraction of a second.

Mark Zuckerberg wants it.

"Every second I have to make money."

The reason why they are able to do that is because they have a different mindset.

Richard Branson, for instance, says that, "Every second counts.

Every second counts."

But for us what happens?

It is not the same.

For us, "Only I will get paid at the end of or the beginning of the month."

So that's the problem.

Also the teaching is going to be exciting.

It is going to be exciting for me as well as for you.

So that's precisely the Program and I have given the four (4) modules.

so if you want more information, you can look at that.
