LET'S PLAY TOGETHER!

MASA: "Sigh... Everday's the same... Go to school, participate in club activities, go home, repeat."
MASA: "Would be nice, if there was something more interesting from time to time."
MIO: "I could tell you an interesting story that I rediscovered! Have you ever heard of Mary's phone call?"
MASA: "Huh? No, I don't even know any Mary."
MIO: "No, no! It's not somebody you're supposed to know! It's a story!"
MIO: "Just listen to this and you'll understand."
MIO: "I found it the other day when I cleared out my room."
MIO: "It's a recording from 4 years ago when my cousin came to visit..."
MIO: "Yumie?"
MIO: "Do you know the story of Mary?"
YUMIE: "Nooope!"
YUMIE: "What's it about?"
MIO: "It's like this..."
MIO: "One day, a girl was at home when the telephone suddenly rang..."
MIO: "She picked it up and heard a voice say:"
MIO: "«Hello. This is Mary.»"
MIO: "«I'm in front of your apartment right now.»"
MIO: "That was all."
MIO: "Then the girl answered: «I don't know anyone by that name! Who exactly are you?», but..."
MIO: "...without a reply the phone call ended."
YUMIE: "So this Mary had just called the wrong number?"
MIO: "That's what the girl thought at first, too!"
MIO: "But then she got another call right away!"
MIO: "«Hello.»"
MIO: "«This is Mary.»"
MIO: "«Right now...»"
MIO: «...I'm on the first floor of your apartment.»"
MIO: "...the voice on the other end said."
MIO: "Ah, by the way! This girl lived on the sixth floor."
MIO: "This time she thought: It's probably just a prank! And ignored it."
YUMIE: "Hmmm..."
Mio: "But...!"
MIO: "A short time later, the phone rings again..."
MIO: "«Hello.»"
MIO: "«This is Mary.»"
MIO: «Right now, I'm on the second floor of your apartment.»"
MIO: "At this point, that girl finally noticed something."
MIO: "Mary is... getting closer..."
YUMIE: "......"
MIO: "... Then..."
MIO: "Again the phone rings!"
MIO: "«Hello.»"
MIO: "«This is Mary.»"
MIO: "«Right now...»"
MIO: «...I'm on the third floor of your apartment.»"
YUMIE: "......"
MASA: "Wait, wait, wait! That's enough already! Stop the tape!"
MIO: "What? Why?"
MASA: "Mio..."
MASA: "This is turning into a scary story, isn't it?!"
MIO: "What? I thought that was obvious by now!"
MIO: "The story of Mary was pretty famous for quite a while. You've really never heard of it?"
MIO: "Yumie was super scared after hearing this story, too."
MIO: "She actually started crying."
MIO: "Anyway. Wanna hear the rest?"
MASA: "Are you for real?! You know damn well, how much I hate these kind of stories!"
MASA: "And poor Yumie... I feel really sorry for her."
MASA: "It's no wonder she was scared after something like that. I can totally relate."
MASA: "Jeez, why did you have to ruin the mood right before our club activities?"
MIO: "My bad!"
MIO: "Oh, shit! They're beginning! Come on, let's hurry!"
MASA: "H-hey! Wait for me!"
MASA: "... That was just the wind, right?"
MASA: "Hm... Maybe..."
MASA: "Maybe I should have listen to the rest, after all..."
Chapter 2 A Game of Tag
MASA: "Sigh... In the end I didn't get to listen to the rest..."
MASA: "But now I'd really like to know how it ended..."
MASA: "Wait a second! There's a total maniac when it comes to these kind of stories. I should ask her..."
MASA: "Huh? What's with that outfit? Are you going somewhere?"
YUURI: "Yep. I'm going to Aya's place. We're gonna play video games all night. Great plan, right?"
MASA: "How is that any different from usual?"
MASA: "Anyway, more importantly, there was something I wanted to ask you..."
YUURI: "This better not be about me helping you study or something!"
MASA: "Like I'd ever need your help with that, pea brain!"
MASA: "No, listen... Today I heard the beginning of a story called «Mary's phone call»."
YUURI: "... And now you're desperate to hear the rest of it?"
MASA: "Well... Yeah. Do you know it?"
YUURI: "Hmmm. Not with the name «Mary». But I've heard a pretty similar story called «Rika's phone call»."
MASA: "I don't care about the name! I just want to know how it ends!"
YUURI: "Oh shit! It's this late already?! Aya's gonna be mad again..."
YUURI: "Sorry! I'll tell you some other time!"
YUURI: "Oh! I almost forgot! Did you see the letter in the living room?"
YUURI: "Seems Mom and Dad won't be here tonight."
YUURI: "Well, then. Bye bye!"
MASA: "Hey, wait! What kind of help was that?"
MASA: "And what's that about a letter?!"
MASA: "I'm not liking this one bit..."
Hallway
Living Room
MASA: "Let's see."
«Mom and Dad are staying at Grandma's house until tomorrow. Take care and behave well! And don't miss school tomorrow!»
MASA: "......"
MASA: "That's the first I hear of this! ... Wait, that means..."
MASA: "I'm all alone tonight?"
MASA: "......"
MASA: "I hope I won't get any phone calls tonight..."
MASA: "Maro, you'll stay by my side, okay?"
MASA: "Thanks a lot..."
MASA: "Sigh... I'm bored... I'm so, so bored..."
MASA: "Of all the days, why does everyone have to be away, when I have absolutely nothing to do..."
MASA: "Guess, I'll play with Maro a bit..."
MASA: "Gasp! What the..."
MASA: "This isn't funny... What was that noise just now?"
MASA: "And where did it even come from?"
Hallway
MASA: "It's coming from the living room...! But what is it...?"
MASA: "..."
MASA: "Don't tell me... You're the culprit, Maro?"
MASA: "......"
MASA: "Jeez, don't frighten me like that! I'm already scared enough as it is."
MASA: "Damn it, why does everyone have to be gone today, seriously..."
MASA: "......"
MASA: "No way..."
MASA: "Hello? Andou speaking?"
MIO: "Hello! Mio here! Masa, is that you?"
MASA: "Sheesh... It's just you..."
MASA: "I think I just lost a few years of my life."
MASA: "Anyway, what's up?"
MIO: "Well... There's something I forgot to tell you this afternoon."
MIO: "Today when I showed you the story about Mary's phone call and all that, you said that you felt sorry for Yumie, right?"
MIO: "That's been on my mind all day. I think that... might have been kinda bad..."
MASA: "...... But why? You even made her cry with your scary story back then. How could I not feel sorry for her?"
MIO: "That's not the point... The thing is, one day after recording that cassette tape..."
MIO: "...Yumie lost her life."
MASA: "No... way..."
MASA: "What happened?"
MIO: "Back then, Yumie was going to the kindergarten."
MIO: "Every day, she'd get on a shuttle bus for the kindergarten, but on that day... there was an accident."
MIO: "She was so lively just one day before, and then..."
MIO: "......"
MIO: "Masa, have you never heard that too much sympathy for the dead can be a bad thing?"
MASA: [A] "No, I have never heard of that!" [X] [B] "Actually, I have."
MASA: "No, I have never heard of that!"
MIO: "The dead are lonely. They want to be with someone..."
MIO: "But if you feel sympathy for a dead person, even though you barely knew them, then they might become attached to you..."
MIO: "That's why it's important to not just feel kind of sorry for the dead without even knowing them all too well, but to hold a proper, dedicated memorial service. At least, that's what my parents once told me."
MASA: "Even if you say that now..."
MIO: "Ah, sorry! I actually gotta go now!"
MIO: "Anyway, that's all I wanted to say! Bye bye!"
MASA: "Even if you tell me not to..."
MASA: "How can I not feel sorry for a girl that died so young?"
MASA: "Sigh... I'm so freaking bored!"
MASA: "......"
MASA: "Guess I'll try and give Atsushi a call."
Hallway
Living Room
[Just checking, if I can interact with anything else at this point.]
MASA: "......"
MASA: "Why isn't he answering his phone?"
MASA: "......"
MASA: "Hold on... Didn't he say something about Tetsuya coming to his place tonight?"
MASA: [A] "Whatever. I give up." [B] "I'll try once more." [X]
MASA: "I'll try calling him once more..."
ATSUSHI: "Kamiya speaking. Hello?"
MASA: "Gee, if you're home, you should answer the phone immediately! What were you doing?"
ATSUSHI: "Oh, Masa, it's you. Uhm..."
ATSUSHI: "Well, you know... errr, this and that..."
MASA: "What the hell's that supposed to mean?!"
MASA: "Anyway, I'm home alone tonight. Are you free?"
ATSUSHI: "Sorry! Tetsuya is here now. I'll call you back later."
ATSUSHI: "Bye!"
MASA: "......"
MASA: "Today's my unlucky day, huh."
MASA: "Wait... Oh no!"
MASA: "I think I forgot one of my homework handouts at school!"
MASA: "Damn... That teacher is super annoying when you forget your homework."
MASA: "Maybe I should go fetch them now..."
MASA: "... No way. I'd rather die than go to school at night all alone."
MASA: "But what else can I do?"
MASA: "Huh?! Who is it this time?"
Hallway
Living Room
MASA: "Hello. Andou speaking?"
MASA: "Hello?!"
MASA: "......"
MASA: "Yuuri, is that you? It is, isn't it? Ha. Really funny."
«Hello.»
«This is Mary.»
«Right now...»
«...I'm in front of your apartment.»
MASA: "God damnit, this girl can be a pain... Why can't she be as enthusiastic as this when it comes to other things?"
MASA: "Right, Maro?"
MASA: "And of course he's sleeping..."
MASA: "Maro..."
MASA: "Wake up..."
MASA: "Come on!"
MASA: "You're a real help, you know that..."
MASA: "......"
MASA: "Hello?"
MASA: "Yuuri?! Cut it out! It's not funny anymore!"
«Hello.»
«This is...»
«...Mary.»
«Right now...»
«I'm on the first floor of your apartment.»
MASA: "That's..."
MASA: "...not Yuuri?"
[I checked the dog, Maro, but it was just the same conversation as before.]

MASA: "Who's there?!"
MASA: "Damn it..."
MASA: "Yuu...ri...? Is that you? Are you back?"
MASA: "What the! What's going on?!"
MASA: "Enough already..."
MASA: [A] Answer the phone. [X] [B] Don't answer the phone.
MASA: "......"
«Hello.»
«This is Mary...»
«Right now...»
«I am...»
«BEHIND YOU.»
YUURI: "Holy shit! You're so easy to scare! You should've seen your face!"
MASA: "Hey... What the hell?! Explain what's going on! How did you even..."
MASA: "Atsushi?!"
MASA: "Wh-what's going on here?!"
ATSUSHI: "Just so you know, I DID tell her that this was too much and we should stop, but..."
YUURI: "Well, you said you wanted to know more about Mary's phone call, so I figured why not let you experience it firsthand!"
MASA: "......"
MASA: [A] "In the end, what was Mary's phone call all about?" [B] "How did you even call me?" [C] "I thought Tetsuya was visiting you, Atsushi?" [X]
MASA: "What about Tetsuya, Atsushi? I thought he came to your place?"
ATSUSHI: "Ah, yeah, well... He said he'd go home. So I decided to go to your place, and just when I went outside..."
YUURI: "There I was!"
YUURI: "I told him, you wanted to know more about Mary's phone call and so I had him assist me in..."
ATSUSHI: "Hold on! Don't make it sound like I was your accomplice from the start! This was all your idea, remember?"
YUURI: "Oh, but you did help me out a great deal! Without you I wouldn't even have been able to pull this off!"
YUURI: "I mean... Wow, cell phones are reaaally useful! Maybe I should buy one for myself, too..."
YUURI: "Well, whatever. This time I'm really going to Aya's place. Bye bye!"
ATSUSHI: "Hey..."
ATSUSHI: "Don't just run away like that..."
MASA: "......"
MASA: "Well then? How about you explain yourself? We have allll the time in the world, you know."
ATSUSHI: "Uhm... I... Ehmmm..."
