Mark Zuckerberg Humiliated As Viral Photo Captures His Embarrassing Secret - Duration: 5:52.

On Tuesday, Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg testified before two Senate panels

to answer for his social media platform's data scandal.

All anyone could talk about, however, was Zuckerberg's embarrassing secret after a

humiliating photograph from his testimony began to go viral online.

Facebook's data scandal began with allegations that U.K.-based firm Cambridge Analytica failed

to delete data that had been improperly passed to them by a third party.

Since then, there have been more revelations about the extent of data-harvesting on Facebook,

including the shocking admission by a former top Barack Obama staffer, Carol Davidsen,

that the social network allowed them to scoop data.

Davidsen said that Facebook privately admitted to giving the Obama campaign special favors.

Ultimately, Facebook would lose a staggering $70 billion in market value as consumer trust

in the company sank to an all-time low:

The continued decline in share price followed news that the FTC has launched an investigation

into the social media company.

In Britain, the government is also investigating Facebook.

Consumer trust in the company has plummeted, and a majority of users are now considering

leaving the platform over privacy concerns.

[Source: Breitbart]

According to The Washington Post, Facebook chief executive Mark Zuckerberg endured an

hours-long grilling by dozens of U.S. senators Tuesday during which he repeatedly apologized

and promised privacy reforms but also pointedly defended his company against the threat of

new legislation.

"If Facebook and other online companies will not or cannot fix these privacy invasions,

then we will," said Florida Sen. Bill Nelson, the highest-ranking Democrat on the Commerce

Committee.

Senators repeatedly challenged Zuckerberg's explanations in the wide-ranging hearing,

a rare joint session before two Senate panels — the Commerce and Judiciary committees

— with 42 senators questioning the Facebook executive.

"Mr. Zuckerberg, in many ways, you and the company that you've created, the story you've

created, represent the American Dream," said Sen. John Thune (R-SD), chairman of the

Commerce Committee.

"Many are incredibly inspired by what you've done.

At the same time, you have an obligation, and it's up to you, to ensure that dream

doesn't become a privacy nightmare."

As if Zuckerberg wasn't already having the worst day ever, his pride took a major blow

when pictures from his testimony began to surface.

The public soon realized that he needed a booster seat during his hearing.

You know, the kind they give toddlers at a restaurant so they can reach the table.

A picture of the tech mogul began going viral after it was posted to Twitter by Kaivan Shroff.

"Tech companies pretend they don't understand the subtlety of the bias their platforms introduce,

but OF COURSE they do," Shroff tweeted.

"Zuckerberg is 5'7″.

His team has him sitting on a 4″ cushion during testimony because they know it's

important for him not to look small or meek in the pics."

Mark Zuckerberg, who traded in his trademark T-shirt and hoodie for a dark suit and tie

on Tuesday, had holed up with advisers in Washington over the weekend to prepare for

the hearing.

His tone was one of practiced and patient contrition as he described his company's

recent failings and efforts to remedy them.

But his team of highly-paid advisers hadn't just schooled Zuckerberg on what to say and

what to wear.

Apparently, they also gave him a bit of advice he surely wishes had stayed a secret: Use

a cushion to appear taller and less demure.

Of course, once Twitter saw Zuckerberg's booster seat, social media users fed-up with

Facebook's antics over the past several months had a field day.

Booster seat for everyone's special little guy.

— Mason Isaacson (@IsaacsnOfficial) April 11, 2018

To be clear, no one is mocking Mark Zuckerberg for being short.

That's beyond his control.

When you're seemingly so insecure about your height that you opt for a booster seat

as a grown adult, though, it's definitely worthy of ridicule.

Zuckerberg did his best on Tuesday to present a certain image.

And isn't it ironic that that is exactly what Facebook is all about?

The platform is full of people who are trying to convince their "friends" that their

life is more impressive than the actual reality.

Even Facebook's algorithm is engineered to further the progressive agenda; instead

of showing you the news YOU want to see, Facebook shows you the news THEY want you to see.

Mark Zuckerberg and his cronies in Silicon Valley have been getting away with murder

for far too long now.

It is time for regulation.

How Do You Define A Hookup? - Duration: 4:17.

- You say hook up, it's the sex.

You're bumping bellies.

That's just (claps).

(country music)

- Me and my friends, we get along pretty well

and we usually agree on everything.

But there's one thing we just can't seem to agree on,

and that is, what it means to hook up.

So, I'm gonna go around the office

to ask my coworkers what it means to hook up,

and hopefully we could all finally come to an agreement.

From making out to anal,

where would you land the beginning of hooking up?

- The beginning of hooking up is probably just making out,

'cause that could go into hooking up.

Once we get into anal, you're dating.

- We need you and your expertise for this video.

- Oh.

- We're trying to figure out what it means to hook up,

and like,

(laughs)

- I think hooking up would definitely be

if one private part meets another private part.

- More than just making out.

Otherwise you would just say, "I made out with that person."

- A hand job.

Would you consider a hand job hooking up?

- Then a person would just be like,

"I gave them a hand job."

- Oh, so if it's a hookup there's more things.

- Yeah.

- What do you think it means to hook up?

- I honestly think you need to exchange some bodily fluids

for it to count as a hookup.

- I wouldn't really go anything further

than making out, I don't think.

I know people think it means sex,

and I don't think that they're wrong either.

- If someone says, "oh, yeah we hooked up"

it means you had an orgasm together.

- Anything past kissing.

So, clothes off.

- I think it means anything kissing or beyond.

- Let's say you went out and you kissed someone.

- You hooked up.

- You hooked up.

- I'm married.

And if my wife kissed somebody, I would say,

"Oh, you hooked up with someone!"

And then we would be divorced.

- As a hookup, I would say anything past just making out.

- Anybody else has an opinion about that?

- I think it's having sex, right?

- Come here.

- Everything that--

- [Woman] Sorry.

- Yes, thank you, Confrontation.

- If my friend came up to me and was like,

"I hooked up with someone last night."

I'm like, "Oh, she had sex with him or her."

- Would you be like, "you didn't hook up with them"

if they were like, "no, we just,

I just sucked his dick."?

- Yeah.

- You'd be like, "that's not a hookup"?

- That's not a hookup.

(bell chimes)

- Oh.

- Oral sex is still sex.

- My guess, anything after making out.

- P to V, V to V, P to P?

I probably wouldn't say that a make-out is a hookup.

- [Fernando] What about a hand job?

- That's a hookup, I think.

- I could come here and tell you,

"Oh, I hooked up with this person last night."

And you wouldn't automatically assume that I had sex?

- With you?

Automatically, automatically.

It depends on the person.

I haven't went out with this person before.

- Thank you so much.

This was great.

- Oh, really?

- I think when exposed genitalia are involved,

that's when the hookup line hits.

- More than kissing.

It could be heavy touching, heavy petting,

fondling if you will.

- Horsing around.

- Horsing around.

Horsing around, yeah.

- It's beyond making out,

touching each other's bits.

- You gotta be naked for a hookup.

Doesn't have to be sex.

- Making out naked, is that a hookup?

- Yeah.

- There was some genitalia involved.

It wasn't just a make-out.

- Anything beyond making out, you can fill in with hookup

and then you just get into more details

depending on who you're telling the story to.

- Then you have what they call hookin' UP.

- Oh, yeah, yeah.

If you're hooking up,

"Yo, I been hooking up with this girl."

Usually that means you've been sleeping with a girl.

- For me, I feel like hooking up involves sex in some way,

whether it's oral or penetration.

- Like a hand job.

Would you consider that hooking up?

- That's interesting.

I

don't think so.

Even though it is sexual.

(jazz music)

- After this, I think I'm more okay

with having a loose definition for hookup,

even though I wish we would could all agree on something.

We'll remain confused until we all get our shit together,

and agree on something.

(coughs awkwardly)

I feel like I'm just as confused as I was earlier.

Tristan Thompson Caught Cheating On Khloe With Multiple Women - Duration: 1:58.

NBA star Tristan Thompson was reportedly spotted with another woman while his girlfriend Khloé

Kardashian is just days away from giving birth to their baby girl.

According to the Daily Mail, Thompson was allegedly caught getting close with a mystery

brunette at the PH-D Lounge, a nightclub in New York City, on Saturday, April 7th, 2018.

In photos and video footage obtained by the tabloid, Thompson and the unidentified woman

can be seen talking with one another before he appears to lean in to kiss her.

The anonymous club-goer who filmed the two together said:

"I was there and he was on the table right next to us with a group of friends and some

girl who he was obviously making out with all night.

They were holding each other and it was so obvious.

[...] They were talking and being around each other all night.

[...] Everybody knew who he was.

We talked about it and everybody watched them make out several times."

Since then, TMZ has released an exclusive video of Thompson, accompanied by the same

mystery woman he was spotted with Saturday night, returning to the Four Seasons hotel

early Sunday morning.

While the two arrived at the hotel at about 5 a.m., the woman later left with an overnight

bag.

The website also published a surveillance video in which the pro basketball player can

be seen getting cozy with two women at a Washington D.C. hookah lounge.

That clip was taken in October 2017, and Khloé Kardashian would have been three months pregnant

at the time.

Kardashian and Thompson confirmed they were expecting their first child together after

months of speculation in December 2017.

The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star shared a photo showing off her baby bump on Instagram,

writing, "My greatest dream realized!

We are having a baby!

…I am so thankful, excited, nervous, eager, overjoyed and scared all in one!

But it's the best bundle of feelings I've ever felt in my life!"

The couple has been together since October 2016.

Kardashian, who at nine months pregnant is due any day now, is currently preparing for

their child's birth in Cleveland, Ohio, where Thompson plays for the Cavaliers.

The Longest Time - Billy Joel (Cover) - Duration: 3:56.

Bum bum bum

Whoa, oh, oh, oh For the longest time

Oh, oh, oh For the longest

If you said goodbye to me tonight There would still be music left to write

What else could I do? I'm so inspired by you

That hasn't happened for the longest time

Once I thought my innoncence was gone Now I know that happiness goes on

That's where you found me When you put your arms around me

I haven't been there for the longest time

Whoa, oh, oh, oh For the longest time

Oh, oh, oh For the longest

I'm that voice you're hearing in the hall And the greatest miracle of all

Is how I need you And how you needed me too

That hasn't happened for the longest time

Maybe this won't last very long But you feel so right, I could be wrong

Maybe I've been hoping too hard But I've gone this far and it's more than I hoped for

Who knows how much further we'll go on Maybe I'll be sorry when you're gone

I'll take my chances I forgot how nice romance is

I haven't been there for the longest time

I had second thoughts at the start I said to myself, "Hold onto your heart"

Now I know the person that you are You're wonderful so far, and it's more than I hoped for

I don't care what consequence it brings I have been a fool for lesser things

I want you so bad

I think you ought to know that I intend to hold you for the longest time

Whoa, oh, oh, oh For the longest time

Oh, oh, oh, For the longest

Time, For the longest, for the longest

Are Armpit Pads Right For You? | Unpacking Underarm Sweat Pads - Duration: 1:23.

Sweating through your shirt at work or on a date is devastating. You pile on

deodorant and antiperspirant but it's not enough. If obvious sweat marks crush

your confidence you might consider armpit pads, garment guards or dress

shields. Let's talk more about what these products are and how they work.

Armpit pads are disposable cotton cushions that stick to your skin or

shirt. Dress shields and garment guards attach to your shirt. They're washable

and reusable. These solutions sound like no-brainers, but do they really stop

underarm sweat sweat? Pads and shields work well if you sweat lightly but if

you pit it out on the daily they just don't hold up. Armpit pads fill up fast

once you start sweating. You might go through five or ten a day and let's be

honest no one has time for that! Changing out the pads isn't the only

concern. They show under tight-fitting shirts but if your shirt is too loose,

the pads can't catch your sweat. The adhesive from sweat pads ruins your nice

shirts too. It leaves behind a residue that's tough to remove. Instead of trying

your luck with pads, guards and shields, wear a sweat proof under shirt. You can't

go wrong with the Thompson Tee. The sweat proof technology keeps you dry all

day. No more fumbling with sweat pads or stressing about stains! Scroll down and

shop all styles and colors today. Thanks for watching!

When J.P. Morgan Saved The World | Richard Sylla | Expert View | Real Vision - Duration: 4:19.

We had what's called then, what many have said, was a one man central bank. And the

one man central bank was John Pierpont Morgan, JP Morgan, J Pierpont Morgan as he's known. He

liked to go by Pierpont. he happened to be attending a convention of the Episcopal Church

in Richmond, Virginia when he received a telegram in October 1907 from his partners in New York,

saying Mr. Morgan, we have a real problem here. Maybe you should come home. And Morgan

lived a pretty good lifestyle. So he had his own private railroad car that he traveled

in. And what they did is, on a Saturday night in Richmond, Virginia, hooked Morgan's private

railroad car to a locomotive and took him back to New York City, where he arrived on

Sunday morning and took charge of the crisis. so Morgan had all these bright young partners,

and he sent them out to inspect the books of all the trust companies that were suffering

from these runs. And what he wanted to do was find out which of them were sound and

which were not sound. And then once he knew which ones were sound, he would organize the

resources to relieve them and let the unsound ones fail, and that would presumably bring

an end to the crisis. So that was the first step. And they couldn't figure out the books

of the Knickerbocker Trust Company, so it basically had to shut its doors or fail right

after Morgan got back to New York. But he kept on working to find out which ones were

salvageable and then organized relief from them, mostly not his own money but money from

Chase and National City Bank, wherever he could raise the money. A lot of other things

happened too. New York City, at that time, had trouble repaying a loan. It had to pay

back a loan mostly held by European investors, and they didn't have the money to do it. It's

an old story in New York City. They borrow too much and can't pay it back. So Morgan

organized a bail out of the city so that it could meet its obligations. And then the stock

exchange, while this panic is going on, takes a big tumble. And the head of the stock exchange

says, we can't handle all this selling pressure. We want to shut it down. Morgan says, no,

don't shut it down. That'll send a bad message. And so in the first week of the crisis, Morgan

arranges an injection of cash so the brokers can stay solvent and the stock exchange can

remain open. Then over the weekend, Morgan advises all the rabbis and ministers in New

York to make soothing sermons, and that helps a little bit. And then they get news that

a boatload of gold, which was considered the base of the-- it was coming from France. So

Morgan tells all the newspapers to say money is on the way, and there's no problem here.

So that's the first week of the crisis between October 20th and 27. So Morgan has done a

bunch of things. And the Secretary of the Treasury is advised to come up from Washington.

And Morgan calls up the Secretary of the Treasury and says it would be nice, Secretary Cortelyou

was his name, if you got on the train and came to New York and said you were going to

put money into the banks in New York. And so the Secretary of the Treasury does what

Morgan asked him to do. He comes to New York and makes public statements that the Treasury

is putting money in the banks. Morgan wanted him to do that. And that helps because then

the public learns that the government is in there. And so then at the end of the week

Morgan says, well, it might help the graphics of the crisis if, Mr. Secretary, you got on

the train and went back to Washington because that might mean that things were OK. So the

Secretary of the Treasury gets on the train and goes back to Washington. You can see that

JP Morgan had quite a bit of clout in those days.

More Hidden Netflix Gems You Definitely Haven't Seen Yet - Duration: 10:06.

Every time Netflix adds another tween dramedy to their service, you have to wonder: where

are all the good movies?

Well, they're there — they just take some digging.

From chilling horror films to quirky comedies, Netflix is filled with great movie selections

if you know where to look.

Here's a roundup of some of the best Netflix hidden gems you probably haven't seen yet.

In Order of Disappearance

You'll be rooting for the underdog in this hard-boiled crime thriller straight from the

snowy streets of Norway.

Starring Stellan Skarsgard and Game of Thrones' Kristofer Hivju, In Order of Disappearance

follows a quiet, seemingly average snow plow operator on a quest to avenge his the murder

of his son.

Equal parts pitch-black comedy and explosive revenge thriller, In Order of Disappearance

is as unstoppable as its protagonist.

As the New York Times' review put it, it's somewhere between Fargo and Quentin Tarantino,

and the end result is way more fun than it should be.

"Hello?"

"Well, he can't, he can't actually talk right now.

Because he's done."

Officer Downe

Let's just preface this by saying that you shouldn't expect a lot from Officer Downe.

Based on the 2010 graphic novel, the movie is a hyper-stylized splatter-fest about a

cop who can't die.

Well, he can.

He just comes back to life again.

That's about it as far as plot goes.

There's a criminal organization that dresses like animals, some gun-toting nuns, and a

clan of ninja-type people, and as you'd expect, they all take turns trading blows with undead

supercop Officer Downe.

Fortunately, the movie doesn't ask or expect the viewer to take any of this seriously.

It doesn't even ask you to care all that much about who these people are — all it really

wants is to have gunfights and explosions, and in that respect, it does okay.

Just turn off your brain and let Downe take care of the rest.

Ava's Possessions

Just when you thought the demonic possession genre had been exorcised of all traces of

originality, along comes Ava's Possessions, a twist on the trope that looks at life after

a possession happens.

It's a fresh take on the whole possession thing, drawing a satirical parallel between

people who've been possessed and alcoholics, support groups and all.

"My name's Ava"

"My uninvited spiritual guest possessed me for 28 days"

"And was exorcised on Tuesday."

If you're looking for something out of the ordinary to spend an evening with—or just

in the mood to find some bleak comedy in the unlikeliest of places—you could definitely

do a whole lot worse.

War on Everyone

For all of its unlikable characters, War on Everyone is a surprisingly enjoyable movie.

The main characters are Terry and Bob — played by Alexander Skarsgård and Michael Peña,

respectively — two crooked cops with absolutely no moral code.

Instead of stopping crimes, they spend their days blackmailing criminals in exchange for

kickbacks.

This is technically a buddy cop comedy, but the black humor and overall message that nothing

really matters take it to some weird places.

And yet somehow, by the time the last bullets have found their mark, you realize that you

kind of like these two amoral sleazebags who haven't performed one single act of redemption

the whole movie.

War on Everyone won't hit home with everybody, but if you like dark humor, you may find yourself

enjoying it a little more than you should.

Moon

You may know Duncan Jones as a director from recent films like Mute or Warcraft, but in

2009, Jones released his debut film Moon, a low budget sci-fi gem that pulled in less

than $10 million at the box office.

Starring Sam Rockwell and a robot who sounds like Kevin Spacey, it's the definition of

a bottle movie — just one man in a lunar research station, slowly losing his mind.

"You guys been to any...good parties or anything?"

Of course, any trailer will tell you that there's a little more to it than that, but

we're not trying to spoil anything here.

If you've never seen Moon, do yourself a favor and avoid all the marketing and just queue

it up on Netflix.

A Perfect Day

It was a simple job: just get the corpse out of the well.

But nothing is ever simple for this group of aid workers during the Yugoslav Wars.

Beset on all sides by uptight U.N. bureaucrats, gun-toting kids, and booby trapped cows, all

they want to do is find a piece of rope so they can pull a body out of a local town's

water supply before it poisons the villagers.

With a cast led by Benicio del Toro, Tim Robbins, and Melanie Thierry, A Perfect Day is both

an absurd comedy of errors and a low-key satire of the regulations and red tape involved in

international conflict.

Without making any grand statements, the movie suggests a parallel between the main characters'

small-scale mission and the larger surrounding war.

If it's this hard to find a rope, how is an entire country supposed to figure out its

problems?

Blame!

There seem to be two camps when it comes to this Netflix animated film — those who like

the original manga hate the movie, and those who haven't read the manga generally enjoyed

it.

But love it or hate it, when it comes to fresh takes on the apocalypse, Blame! has most any

other futuristic vision beat, hands down.

That's what makes this film so intriguing.

In a seemingly endless, continually growing city that goes for miles up, down, and in

either direction, robots have taken to exterminating humans.

But a small band of people has survived for centuries inside an invisible shield that

keeps the robots out.

They don't know why the robots can't get inside their colony; they just know that going outside

means risking life and limb at the hands of predatory robots.

It's only when a stranger comes to their town that they realize there may be a chance to

do something about their predicament and finally stop the expansion of the city.

For vision alone, Blame! is well worth watching.

The Vault

James Franco headlines The Vault as the assistant manager of a bank that gets knocked over by

a group of petty thieves.

The twist is, the bank is haunted.

When Franco leads this heist gang down into the underground vault, they get more than

money.

They get ghosts.

You won't be rocking back and forth in terror from The Vault, although it does have its

chilling moments.

You won't end up rooting for the thieves, although it does open them up to empathy eventually.

And you definitely won't be chuckling at James Franco's silly antics, because he's a stone-faced,

mustachioed man on a mission once things really get rolling.

What The Vault lacks in such departments as characterization, script, and suspense, it

more than makes up for in ghosts.

Bunches of ghosts.

If you love ghosts, you'll easily tolerate The Vault.

Cold in July

Starring Michael C. Hall and Sam Shepard, Cold in July begins with a quiet family man

who shoots a burglar in his house.

Soon, though, his family is being terrorized by the departed young man's angry father,

who's fresh out of prison and out for revenge.

While that alone would make for an interesting, if predictable film, Cold in July quickly

switches gears as these two men realize that there are bigger stakes involved than their

petty revenge tale.

One of Cold in July's biggest strengths is that you never guess where the story is going

next.

Each new twisted development takes the characters in an entirely new direction.

If there's a downside to the whole thing, it's that the ending is over a little too

quickly.

But it's not enough to ruin what's otherwise a solid, engaging movie.

Oculus

Netflix has a million and a half horror movies, and the vast majority of them aren't exactly

gems, hidden or otherwise.

Oculus looks a lot like the rest of them when you're scrolling through Netflix, but with

one teensy, important difference — it's actually pretty great.

A brother and sister return to the house where their father murdered their mother, bringing

along the haunted mirror that made him do it.

Their plan is to record themselves being driven crazy by the mirror so the whole world knows

that an evil mirror is responsible for that horrible crime back in the day.

Even the description sounds a little silly, but Oculus is that one rare gem that pulls

it off.

Oculus was one of writer and director Mike Flanagan's first films with a decent budget,

and it shows in every frame.

Flanagan has since gone on to direct several other films, including one of those Ouija

movies that were everywhere in 2016 and Netflix's Gerald's Game adaptation, so his is definitely

a name you'll be hearing about more often in the future.

Fullmetal Alchemist

Is the live-action version of Fullmetal Alchemist as good as the anime?

Not even close.

Is it cheesy and hilarious and full of ridiculous moments?

Oh, you bet.

For newcomers to the whole thing, the story is about two brothers with a natural inclination

for alchemy who attempt to bring their mother back to life.

Things go horribly wrong, and one brother ends up with his soul trapped in a suit of

armor while the other loses an arm and a leg.

When they're older, they search for the mythical philosopher's stone in the hopes of restoring

their bodies.

As far as anime adaptations go, Fullmetal Alchemist is arguably one of the best out

there.

It doesn't cover the whole story, but it serves as an origin tale and works as a self-contained

story that even non-fans can enjoy.

At least, you can enjoy it if you already like over-the-top action fantasies.

That's all this is.

Super Dark Times

This coming-of-age story has all the staples of the genre — high school friends, teenage

drama, house parties, and pubescent angst.

But for two best friends, a traumatic experience may be too much for them to reconcile.

In his feature-length debut, director Kevin Phillips has crafted a tight, unique teenage

thriller.

The rich atmosphere and superb performances from a relatively unknown cast add weight

to an already heavy script.

This isn't an easy movie to watch.

Although other films may be more gratuitously violent, Super Dark Times doesn't offer a

hint of escapism in its few brutal moments.

If you're looking for lighthearted viewing, you'd be better off queuing up something else.

But if you want to experience a superb film with a dramatic message, you could do worse

than Super Dark Times.

A Serious Man

Even by Coen brothers standards, A Serious Man is an unusual movie.

It starts with a subtitled prologue set in the 19th century and then moves into a suburb

in the Midwest circa the late '60s.

The main character is Larry Gopnik, a Jewish physics professor.

"So, am I right?

Okay, so if that's that, then we can do this."

When Gopnik's life starts being derailed by a chain of events completely beyond his control,

he visits three rabbis to figure out the meaning of life.

It's not the Coens' best movie by a long shot, or even their best comedy.

In the end, you'll probably come away scratching your head.

But maybe you'll also watch it again a year later, because there's something there, something

you can't put your finger on.

There has to be something holding it all together.

Or maybe, just maybe, none of it means anything.

"Okay - the uncertainty principle.

It proves we can't ever really know what's going on."

Will the Trade Dispute with China Affect the Bond Market? - Duration: 4:48.

The big news lately has been the trade dispute between the US and China.

It's really roiled the market, causing a lot of volatility, especially in the equity

market.

Interestingly, it hasn't had as much impact on the bond market as it has on the stock

market.

I'm Kathy Jones, and this is Bond Market Today.

Today, I'm joined by my colleague, Collin Martin, and we're going to discuss this

China-US trade dispute and what impact it might have on the bond market.

So, Collin, you know, as I noted, we're just not seeing that much movement in bond

yield since all this welled up in the marketplace.

I would say 10-year treasury yields have been at a very, very narrow range.

Why do you think that is?

Yeah, as you said, they've been in a tight range because there's both positive and

negative effect of the tariffs.

It's also important to point out that, you know, it's still uncertain if this is just

the start of negotiations or if we'll see a, you know, pronounced long period of time

of tariffs.

That remains to be seen.

But, as I said, there's both positive and negative impacts of tariffs.

And on the positive side, which pushes prices up and yields down, is that tariffs can slow

growth, you know, can serve as a tax on consumption.

That can slow trade, can slow the growth rate of the US economy, and that pulls yields lower.

But it can also raise inflation.

We're a big importer of goods.

It can increase the cost of those goods, and, therefore, lead to higher rates of inflation.

And inflation plays a major role in long-term treasury yields.

So you kind of have that push and pull dynamic and you…

therefore, they've been in a relatively tight range lately.

But another questions we've seen is… or seen… or heard is are there other actions

China might take, such as what they might do with their large holdings of US treasuries?

Yeah, that's something that comes up from time to time, we hear it.

Whenever there's some sort of conflict between the US and China, there's this fear that

China will use its large holdings of US treasuries to retaliate maybe by selling a big chunk

of those treasuries and pushing prices down and yields up, and, of course, that would

be damaging to the US economy.

You know, personally, I think that this is an unrealistic expectation for two reasons.

One is it probably does as much harm to China as it does to us.

These are their assets that they hold, and they would be driving down the price of their

own assets.

Secondly, they need US dollars to transact.

So China has a huge trade surplus, not just with the US but with the world.

They're a big exporter and they generate excess dollars, and those dollars need to

be invested, and they need to be held for the next transaction because most transactions

that happen in the global economy happen in US dollars.

So they need a large market that's very liquid to hold those dollars, and that's

the US treasury market.

They tend to invest at the shorter end of the yield curve because they need that liquidity.

So I don't think it makes a lot of sense for them to take that action, although it's

a fear that's out there and it comes up from time to time, and I think it is something

that might be holding back the bond market, keeping people a little bit nervous about

what's going on.

So if you're an investor and things have been very volatile and you've been concerned

and you're not really sure what to do, you know, what are some steps you could take maybe

to help dampen down some of that volatility?

Well, we think one step is to own fixed income.

You know, the past few weeks has been a great reminder as to why high-quality fixed income

investments can help an overall portfolio.

US treasuries are one of the best diversifiers when coupled with US stocks.

They tend to have a negative correlation with the equity market over time.

And by that, I mean if stock prices are going in one direction, treasury prices are going

to go, to some degree, in the other direction.

So if we're seeing this elevated volatility with stocks and we're seeing price declines,

treasury prices tend to rise, so it helps serve as a buffer.

But, also, it's great to point out that yields are higher today, so in addition to

the diversification benefits you can get, you can also earn higher income payments today

in high-quality investments like US treasuries.

Yeah, and that's a big advantage over where we were just a year or two ago, when we were

still sort of dealing with the zero interest rate environment.

That's great.

Thanks, Collin.

Massive Solar Flare Will WREAK HAVOC On Earth Today - Duration: 3:12.

Get your shades on and get ready as a huge solar flare is going to cause havoc TODAY.

Hello and welcome back to IO, I am your host Rebecca Felgate and today we're talking

about a massive geomagnetic storm.

Before we launch into this video, I just want to invite you to leave a thumbs up and click

on that notification bell to get our videos direct to your inbox.

Okay, so… today we can expect a solar flare.

What does that mean?

Well this is a burst of high energy radiation from the sun that causes electromagnetic disturbances

on earth.

Basically it interferes with power lines and radio communications.

The US Space Weather Prediction Center has confirmed a storm alert is in affect…so

we could see power outages.

Solar Storms come from holes in the sun that expose the gas giants magnetic field.

This sends solar wind rushes out into space.

If a burst is strong enough it can cause a coronal mass ejection – basically a super

flare.

So, how will this impact earth?

Don't worry, we aren't all about to be burned to a crisp!

That's not how these flares work, it is more about electromagnetic disruption.

Some places may see power grid outages and some of the satellites orbiting earth could

be damaged.

The radio might go a bit strange for a while too… but really, it isn't that much of

a big deal, we're pretty well equipped to deal with a solar flare of this size.

One of the biggest ever flares recorded, though, was the 1859 Carrington Event which took out

the entire American and European Telegraph system, giving operators electric shocks.

We also saw a huge flare in 2012, but we are all still here, so don't you worry.

Sensationalists news websites like the daily star say events like this can be fatal, but

that's total nonsense!

While it is unlikely that anyone will get hurt, solar flares like today's can be costly.

Insurance firm Lloyds of London have reportedly estimated that a repair bill from a big solar

storm could cost around 2 and a half trillion dollars.

I don't know where they pluck these numbers from…you'd have to ask them.

The good news is that the light show from today's flare will probably be pretty.

It is expected that auroras will be visible at the earths poles.

They may even be visible in Canada, Northern Michigan and Maine!

Okay….

So that is all I have on this story….

Let me know what you thought to it in the comments section down below.

Before I leave I am going to reply to a few comments from a video of mine last week.

This video was about a lot of millennials believing the Flat Earth Theory.

Weird.

Ismail The Prankster said: I feel embarrassed being a human when a person thinks the earth

is back?

Juicelee said: Flat Earth isn't a theory, it is fact.

I meaaan….it isn't but hookay.

Donn Worry Said: Show Me The Edge Show me the Money Donn.

Jerry Maguire Anyone?

Okay, so…that is that… let me know your thoughts on the solar flare…are you worried?

Like, share, subscribe.

Bye!

This is the average gear a WW2 soldier carried - Duration: 3:38.

It's estimated that over 16.1 million

American's served during World War II.

They fought in some of the most brutal conditions

and intense battles in our nations history.

Including D Day, The Battle of the Bulge and Iwo Jima.

And they did it with equipment that is far less

sophisticated than what modern day troops carry.

Let's take a look at the standard issue gear

that U.S. troops carried during World War II.

The combat pack was a waterproof backpack

that contained everything the troop

needed to sustain himself in the field.

Including toiletries, socks, a few rations,

personal items, and things that struck their fancy.

You know, like pictures of their sweethearts.

And if they didn't have their own sweethearts back home,

a movie star would do.

Fun fact, anything that looked like two round

objects earned the nickname Mae West.

See if you can figure out why.

The cartridge belt had pouches that could hold ammunition.

A rifleman's eight-round clip could fit into each pouch.

The belt also had fortified holes along

the bottom for additional attachments.

Including a small first aid pouch which would

contain one or two battle dressings for self aid.

The sterile dressings were designed for hemorrhage control.

Another attachment was the bayonet which could attach

to the rifle itself or be used in Hand-to-hand combat

or as a utility knife or an absolutely

terrifying back scratcher.

The canteen would also attach to the

cartridge belt via the canteen cover.

A pouch that included the canteen itself, a canteen cup,

and a mess kit complete with knife, fork, and spoon.

It wasn't uncommon for a forward deployed troop to eat

and drink all of his rations from this container.

As many meals served on the front lines

came from a large communal pot.

Early World War II canteens were made of aluminum

but as the war raged on the aluminum

was urgently needed for aircraft.

In 1942, other materials were explored

including stainless steel, low quality metal

with porcelain enameled coating

and even some plastic which is of course what

our modern military uses today.

And drinking from them is disgusting.

And I hate it.

It does beat the contamination that occurred

when porcelain enamel chipped however.

A true indication of the age of trench warfare.

Troops carried an entrenching tool attached

to their belts or combat packs.

It was used as a shovel to dig foxholes or trenches.

Could fold and serve as a pick or it

could drive stakes into the ground.

If the shit hit the fan, it could also

be used as a fighting stick.

It wasn't the most effective Malay

weapon but it was handy, heavy, and sharp.

Now the helmet itself was comprised of two parts.

The plastic liner and a one-size-fits-all steel shell.

The liner helped the helmet fit properly.

And the steel offered protection.

It was dull by design but troops were also issued

fabric covers for increased camouflage.

Many would also use nets or vegetation

for added concealment.

World War II production helmets did have chin straps

but many soldiers wore them unfastened

or even looped behind the helmet.

This seems counterintuitive but they found that during

hand-to-hand combat, the helmet could be used

against them by the enemy who could pull on it

and throw troops off balance.

The helmet also had pragmatic uses during camp.

It could carry water, be used as a wash basin, or as a seat.

And if you had two, it became an

excellent Mae West impression.

One of the largest items troops carried was the cargo pack

which contained a two man tent, tent pins, and a blanket.

Depending on the time year, an infantry soldier would

also carried clothing layers to include

long johns, ponchos, and a raincoat.

Their weapons varied as well but the M1 Garand rifle

and the M1911 pistol where also common issue.

A soldiers load during World War II

ranged from 65 to 85 pounds depending on his weapon.

Today, troops carry around 95 to 125 pounds of gear.

It's the addition of body armor, technology,

and improved first aid gear happen to add into the load.

But before we start comparing apples to oranges,

let's just remember that it was the devastation

and hardship of the World Wars that built America's

foundation of military superiority.

We're stronger today because of what they endured.

It's amazing what you can accomplish with just a pair

of wool underwear, asbestos gloves

and an iron will to kill The Führer.

ASMR with SMALL OBJECTS - Duration: 18:53.

Hello.

Today, I'm really close to the camera

to show you what my cat did to me.

No, not for this.

Because I'll be using small objects

to make some relaxing sounds, maybe.

Or maybe not, I don't know.

Let's try this.

This one looks like a strawberry.

And I'm a bit hungry.

But I think that If I eat it, I'll have of problems after.

I'm not sure if this strawberry is very natural.

Let's try the next item.

This.

It's not easy to make good sounds with small objects.

OK, next.

A bit closer.

7:02 Let's go to the next item.

No, the next item isn't my small eyebrows.

No, not this.

I should cut it!

No, not today!

9:08 Let's go to the next.

Daruma is always good for a little bit of nail tapping.

10:25 Have a look to Daruma.

You can see it clearly now, can't you?

The Daruma is the best for tapping.

11:51 Kneadable eraser.

In the little box.

This should be good for tapping too

but first let's play with this.

14:00 OK, so let's do a bit of gentle tapping on the little box.

16:22 OK. I know that a lot of people like this kind of sound.

And this is a small object so let's do it.

18:19 OK, so for today, it will be all for the small objects.

Samantha Ruth Prabhu And Naga Chaitanya Have Fixed The Date Of Their Baby's Arrival, Check Out - Duration: 4:56.

Samantha Ruth Prabhu And Naga Chaitanya Have Fixed The Date Of Their Baby's Arrival, Check Out

On October 6, 2017, superstar Tollywood actors, Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Naga Chaitanya, were pronounced husband and wife.

The couple had a dreamy Hindu wedding followed by a white Christian wedding. .

Barely, six months after marriage, Samchay (as they are affectionately called) fans have been waiting for some good news about their first baby.

Rumours have been rife that Samantha is pregnant but shunning such baseless conjectures, the Rangasthalam actress has come out in the open to comment on her pregnancy and arrival of her baby. .

In an interview that Samantha gave to Film Companion, she cleared the air and said, "I have put a date as to when I want my baby.

The date has been fixed! Like, as if that's going to happen according to the date we have fixed! But Chay (Naga Chaitanya) seems to be certain that it will happen on the assigned date!".

In the same interview, on being asked if her acting career will take a backseat once the baby arrives, Samantha replied, "When I have a child, that child is going to be my universe.

I had the greatest respect for working mothers.

My childhood was not very rosy.

For all adults, who haven't had a very rosy childhood, the first thing they will tell you is that they want to give their child everything that they did not have.

That's something that has stuck with me.

So I think the first few years after I have a child, I would not be anywhere.

That child will be everything for me." .

It must be mentioned here that before their wedding, when a news portal had asked Naga Chaitanya about Samantha's professional commitments post marriage, he had said, "Whether she chooses to do one film or ten is entirely her choice.

But she will continue with her career after marriage."   .

In the interview with Film Companion, Samantha also spoke on how her life has changed post-marriage and that she earlier she used to think only about herself and now she needs to think about the family as well.

She was quoted as saying, "Chay and I have a very normal approach to things; from writing our provision list to deciding the menu for dinner, to seeing if everything is there at home.

Day-to-day activities are organised by us.

I like to do that at home.".

For the uninitiated ones, Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Naga Chaitanya met on the sets of the hit Tollywood film Yem Maaya Chesave in 2009 and have been together since then.

After dating each other for more than 8 years, they got engaged on January 29, 2017.

On the professional front, Samantha is riding high these days with the thunderous box-office success of her film Rangasthalam.

She will next be seen in the Telugu film, Mahanati, along with her husband, Naga!.
