The 3 Things Every Parent Wants for Their Child with or Without Autism - Duration: 6:11.
Today I'm going to discuss my views on the three things that I think we all want for our children
with or without autism.
I'm Dr. Mary Barbera, autism mom, Board Certified Behavior Analyst, and best-selling author.
I fell into the autism world in 1999 when Lucas was diagnosed with autism.
At the time, Spencer was 18 months of age, so they are 18 months apart.
Now, they're both young adults, and Spencer is at college.
Over the years, both as a parent of a son with autism as well as a parent of a typically-developing
son and as a professional, I think it boils down to the same things that we want, no matter
if a child or an adult has autism or doesn't have autism.
These three things that we want are we want the child, even if they're an adult, we want
our children to be happy.
I did a few video blogs about happiness in the recent past, and I know that happiness
comes from the ability to make choices.
It also comes from having work or demands that are at the appropriate level and reinforcement
that is dense enough to provide a good atmosphere for the child or adult.
I'm a big proponent of counting smiles, counting laughs, taking data on affect to see which
activities, if the child can't verbally tell you, what they like best, what their favorite
activity is, what their favorite movie is.
We need to be good observers and document where the child is going to be happiest.
In my book I wrote in 2007, The Verbal Behavior Approach, I say, I think it's in chapter two,
if I gave you a thousand dollars for your child or client to have a good day, free of
problem behavior, what would you do?
That's basically like what makes the child happy.
Basically, the answer to that is you would give them a lot of reinforcement, a lot of
things that they like with very few demands.
Now, some people say, "Well, I can't do that because they can't run around school naked,"
or, "They can't eat unlimited amounts of candy," or whatever, and that's true.
There are some demands that just have to be, but if we can think about making reinforcement
really high and demands really low to get the child in a good state, then we can start
systematically increasing the demands and lowering the reinforcement.
I believe that is one of the keys to happiness, but in terms of my typically-developing son,
I want him to be happy too, and that will involve making good choices to have reinforcement
coming in and providing him with enough reinforcement to keep him happy.
The number two thing I think we all want for our kids with and without autism is we want
them to be safe.
Safety for Spencer who's in college involves making good choices, and safety for Lucas
involves a lot of oversight, a lot of supervision.
I did a blog recently about crossing a street and how that's just not feasible.
Even if you have a teenager, if they're functioning below an age 10 child, cognitively, language-wise,
developmentally, they simply can't be left to cross streets.
It's not safe.
We need to keep our kids with autism safe, but we definitely desire all of our children
to be as safe as possible.
And the final thing I think we all want for our kids, we want happiness, we want them to be safe, and the third thing
is I think we want them to be as independent as possible.
My college-age son is totally independent now.
He's flying on airplanes alone.
He's responsible for all his school work, coordination of when he has tests and everything.
For Lucas, he's become a lot more independent over the years as we've taught him to be independent
with many of his daily activities like showering, tying his shoes, getting dressed, making small
meals.
We've taught him systematically to be as independent as possible.
Those are my three things I think we all have in common, we all want for our children, even
our adult children.
We want them to be happy, safe, and independent.

Since multiple YouTube influencers give the advice to be Piggybacking, similar to Tailgating,
in order to grow your channel,
I am talking about deleted YouTube channels, that I was following.
Very recently a lot of YouTube channels were permanently suspended.
They all had some thing in common: they were talking about anabolic steroids and research
chemicals, like peptides and SARMs.
The latter are compounds called selective androgen receptor modulators, and are described
as the safer and a bit less potent alternatives to anabolic steroids.
A lot of these channels were just explaining what they were, what kinds exactly exist and
how to dose them.
Most of these channels were not selling or promoting their use in any way.
They were suspended anyway.
If you would be wondering where these channels at now: most of them moved to more uncensored
sites like BitChute and DTube.
And if you are wondering why I was looking into these illegal compounds, it's because
last year I started to do research on all stuff related to resistance training and bodybuilding
in order to write my book: exercises, nutrition,supplements, hormones, sleep,
and yes, even research chemicals and steroids.

Residents in this Florida city will soon let their cars do the talking - Duration: 3:50.
Representatives of 14 transportation agencies from across the country will soon convene
in Tampa, Florida, for a first-hand look at how connected vehicle technologies work in
real life.
Futuristic yet realistic, these state-of-the-art smart city solutions promise to save lives,
make the traffic flow smoother, help public transportation run on time and reduce pollution.
The demonstration will focus on vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-infrastructure communication
systems.
Already deployed in some cars, like the latest Mercedes-Benz E-Class, this technology lets
internet-connected cars wirelessly "talk" to each other and to infrastructure.
For example, a car can tell vehicles traveling around it that it has slowed down or stopped.
In turn, drivers will receive a real-time message to tell them they're approaching
a collision or a traffic jam.
The technology can also warn motorists when a car is traveling the wrong way, or when
there's a pedestrian crossing the street.
The demonstration will coincide with the launch of a large-scale pilot program.
Tampa stands out as one of three sites across the nation selected by the United States Department
of Transportation (USDOT) as a test venue, but it's the only city whose pilot program
will include local residents.
The other sites are New York City and a stretch of I-80 in Wyoming.
The USDOT is investing $42 million to make connected vehicle technologies a reality.
Tampa has started the process of recruiting the 1,600 volunteer drivers it needs to participate
in the pilot program.
Interested motorists can take a pre-screening questionnaire online to check whether they're
eligible.
They notably need to be at least 18 years old, drive regularly in downtown Tampa, and
have a 1996 or newer car.
Sorry, sun lovers, but it can't be a convertible because participants need to install a roof-mounted
antenna.
If selected, motorists will receive an internet-enabled rearview mirror to install in their car.
It will emit visual and audible alerts while allowing the car to communicate with other
vehicles on the road, including buses and street cars, and traffic signals.
As a trade-off, Tampa will give participants a 30-percent rebate on the Lee Roy Selmon
Expressway's reversible express lanes.
Officials estimate the discount can save participants up to $550.
Pedestrians can get involved, too.
Tampa officials will release a smartphone application that will activate crosswalk signals
on Meridian Avenue.
The app will also warn users of oncoming buses or streetcars in some areas.
However, the project's website notes the app only works on Android-powered devices.
A spokesperson for the Tampa Expressway told Digital Trends the app won't be compatible
with Apple devices during the pilot project.
The demonstration will take place on April 12 on the downtown end of the Lee Roy Selmon
Expressway, according to a statement published by Tampa officials.
Part of the road will be closed to traffic during the event.
Plan accordingly if you're traveling in the area.

FAQ of Product Certifications for China Importing And Amazon Selling - Duration: 4:26.
Hey, how's it going guys?
Today we're going to talk about compliance certifications for products
that you want to import from China and sell on Amazon.
For household, sports, outdoor products,
usually they don't need any certifications,
that's why a lot of FBA sellers mainly choose these product categories
to import from China. But if you want to sell electronic products,
toys and other product categories with a lot of regulations,
you really need to watch this video and it will help you a lot to avoid mistakes.
Generally speaking, only American customs and Amazon
will need you to provide the related certifications for your products.
When compared with Amazon,
the US customs need certifications for more product categories than Amazon.
But if you are sending your products from China to Amazon warehouses
in united states by express, such like FedEx,
for most product categories, you don't need to provide any certifications,
because, FedEx are handling all the customs process.
But if you are shipping your products in large quantity,
and you send them by sea freight or air freight, which means that,
your cargo needs to go through the regular customs clearance process,
then you need to provide the related certifications
for your products for the customs clearance purpose.
The customs will hold your products until you provide the related certifications,
or, I don't know, maybe they will destroy your products.
And if you don't provide your certifications in time, of course,
the products will get stuck in the customs for days or even weeks,
then the shipping from customs to Amazon warehouse will be delayed too.
Just don't make this kind of mistake if you want to catch the last couple of weeks
to make all your products arrive at Amazon before the Christmas.
If you don't have related certifications,
Amazon will not allow you to sell or they will shut down your listing.
Let's go back to the summer of 2017,
when the solar eclipse viewers were sold so well,
Amazon requested certifications for some observation, and then a lot of
people's listing were closed unless they provided the related certifications.
As you know, my company and I are helping FBA sellers source products in China,
and import products to America,
we are more familiar with what kind of certifications that US Customs needs
than what does the Amazon need, because we are not selling on Amazon.
Here is a list of certifications for different kinds of product categories
that American customs may require. you can take it for reference,
but the best suggestion I will give you is to inquire your customs broker
or your freight forwarder who helps you handle the custom clearance.
But as to what kind of certification you need to provide for selling on Amazon,
the best suggestion will be finding the results on Google.
And also you'd better do the certification research
before you start sourcing suppliers from China.
Generally, Chinese suppliers who have sold products to US or
they want to sell to the US market, usually will have the related certifications.
So using factory certification for the custom clearance is always OK.
But it doesn't always work for Amazon, because
Amazon can not find any of your information on the factory certification.
Well, you can get certifications from the testing lab in America
or a testing lab in China, which is very cheap and also very fast.

Hi I'm Lisa from Active Domestics and like many people I've got one of these
Dyson handheld vacuum cleaners. I think they're awesome. I really find it great for
quick cleanups in the kitchen and spot cleans and things like that. So I do use
it a lot and it's also great for like cleaning fans and and getting in
corners that are a bit harder to get into and when I use this it's it's good
because this is a little bit less wide than my normal vacuum cleaner so it can
get into places that I can't easily get into. But anyway.. so what I wanted to
talk to you about.. First of all just a quick reminder that there is the maximum line.
You must always empty it just by pressing that down & empty it into a
plastic bag. Don't let the dust build up in here otherwise you will shorten the lifespan of the vacuum cleaner. Anyway, so the problem that we have, and lots of people no doubt
have this is that I've sucked up various things that have wound its way around
the the bit that is meant to move quite freely and there's lots of hair
and bits of string and stuff like that. You can see it from here as well.
So I'm getting my husband here.. I'm going to hold the camera and he's going to
show us how to how to fix that and remove it so..there you go...

gonna use if you have a little look it's got across there. That means that it's a
Phillips Screwdriver that you need. This is actually a a ratchet screwdriver
that's got different heads that you can stick into it but it's the right
head for the and this thing it's got a little switch on it. I recommend
these actually because if you have screwing something in then you can go that way. Iit you're
screwing something out you just flick the switch and goes the other way. Makes life
a lot easier So that's for those two screws. Now this particular vacuum cleaner head has for
the other two screws on here and here's what's called a tamper proof screw. You
can see there it's got a it's good a little star head and we do actually have
a head for that and even though it's called tamper proof you can actually go
to the yet and I go to the hardware store and buy yourself the right head
which is that one there. But I don't know that we actually need it for this one because I think we've
got enough access in here we can now get to this and start to cut these bits and
pieces off. There's a whole lot of string and stuff in here...
It's gonna take
a little while but you know there's bits of plastic and all sorts of stuff in there
eventually ...(Lisa-- So it's just bit by bit hey?) Paul-- Hair and cotton all sorts in there and just a bit at a
time and then what you'll be left with at the end is a nice clean, free-moving head
There you go...

The 3 Things Every Parent Wants for Their Child with or Without Autism - Duration: 6:11.Today I'm going to discuss my views on the three things that I think we all want for our children
with or without autism.
I'm Dr. Mary Barbera, autism mom, Board Certified Behavior Analyst, and best-selling author.
I fell into the autism world in 1999 when Lucas was diagnosed with autism.
At the time, Spencer was 18 months of age, so they are 18 months apart.
Now, they're both young adults, and Spencer is at college.
Over the years, both as a parent of a son with autism as well as a parent of a typically-developing
son and as a professional, I think it boils down to the same things that we want, no matter
if a child or an adult has autism or doesn't have autism.
These three things that we want are we want the child, even if they're an adult, we want
our children to be happy.
I did a few video blogs about happiness in the recent past, and I know that happiness
comes from the ability to make choices.
It also comes from having work or demands that are at the appropriate level and reinforcement
that is dense enough to provide a good atmosphere for the child or adult.
I'm a big proponent of counting smiles, counting laughs, taking data on affect to see which
activities, if the child can't verbally tell you, what they like best, what their favorite
activity is, what their favorite movie is.
We need to be good observers and document where the child is going to be happiest.
In my book I wrote in 2007, The Verbal Behavior Approach, I say, I think it's in chapter two,
if I gave you a thousand dollars for your child or client to have a good day, free of
problem behavior, what would you do?
That's basically like what makes the child happy.
Basically, the answer to that is you would give them a lot of reinforcement, a lot of
things that they like with very few demands.
Now, some people say, "Well, I can't do that because they can't run around school naked,"
or, "They can't eat unlimited amounts of candy," or whatever, and that's true.
There are some demands that just have to be, but if we can think about making reinforcement
really high and demands really low to get the child in a good state, then we can start
systematically increasing the demands and lowering the reinforcement.
I believe that is one of the keys to happiness, but in terms of my typically-developing son,
I want him to be happy too, and that will involve making good choices to have reinforcement
coming in and providing him with enough reinforcement to keep him happy.
The number two thing I think we all want for our kids with and without autism is we want
them to be safe.
Safety for Spencer who's in college involves making good choices, and safety for Lucas
involves a lot of oversight, a lot of supervision.
I did a blog recently about crossing a street and how that's just not feasible.
Even if you have a teenager, if they're functioning below an age 10 child, cognitively, language-wise,
developmentally, they simply can't be left to cross streets.
It's not safe.
We need to keep our kids with autism safe, but we definitely desire all of our children
to be as safe as possible.
And the final thing I think we all want for our kids, we want happiness, we want them to be safe, and the third thing
is I think we want them to be as independent as possible.
My college-age son is totally independent now.
He's flying on airplanes alone.
He's responsible for all his school work, coordination of when he has tests and everything.
For Lucas, he's become a lot more independent over the years as we've taught him to be independent
with many of his daily activities like showering, tying his shoes, getting dressed, making small
meals.
We've taught him systematically to be as independent as possible.
Those are my three things I think we all have in common, we all want for our children, even
our adult children.
We want them to be happy, safe, and independent.

Residents in this Florida city will soon let their cars do the talking - Duration: 3:50.Representatives of 14 transportation agencies from across the country will soon convene
in Tampa, Florida, for a first-hand look at how connected vehicle technologies work in
real life.
Futuristic yet realistic, these state-of-the-art smart city solutions promise to save lives,
make the traffic flow smoother, help public transportation run on time and reduce pollution.
The demonstration will focus on vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-infrastructure communication
systems.
Already deployed in some cars, like the latest Mercedes-Benz E-Class, this technology lets
internet-connected cars wirelessly "talk" to each other and to infrastructure.
For example, a car can tell vehicles traveling around it that it has slowed down or stopped.
In turn, drivers will receive a real-time message to tell them they're approaching
a collision or a traffic jam.
The technology can also warn motorists when a car is traveling the wrong way, or when
there's a pedestrian crossing the street.
The demonstration will coincide with the launch of a large-scale pilot program.
Tampa stands out as one of three sites across the nation selected by the United States Department
of Transportation (USDOT) as a test venue, but it's the only city whose pilot program
will include local residents.
The other sites are New York City and a stretch of I-80 in Wyoming.
The USDOT is investing $42 million to make connected vehicle technologies a reality.
Tampa has started the process of recruiting the 1,600 volunteer drivers it needs to participate
in the pilot program.
Interested motorists can take a pre-screening questionnaire online to check whether they're
eligible.
They notably need to be at least 18 years old, drive regularly in downtown Tampa, and
have a 1996 or newer car.
Sorry, sun lovers, but it can't be a convertible because participants need to install a roof-mounted
antenna.
If selected, motorists will receive an internet-enabled rearview mirror to install in their car.
It will emit visual and audible alerts while allowing the car to communicate with other
vehicles on the road, including buses and street cars, and traffic signals.
As a trade-off, Tampa will give participants a 30-percent rebate on the Lee Roy Selmon
Expressway's reversible express lanes.
Officials estimate the discount can save participants up to $550.
Pedestrians can get involved, too.
Tampa officials will release a smartphone application that will activate crosswalk signals
on Meridian Avenue.
The app will also warn users of oncoming buses or streetcars in some areas.
However, the project's website notes the app only works on Android-powered devices.
A spokesperson for the Tampa Expressway told Digital Trends the app won't be compatible
with Apple devices during the pilot project.
The demonstration will take place on April 12 on the downtown end of the Lee Roy Selmon
Expressway, according to a statement published by Tampa officials.
Part of the road will be closed to traffic during the event.
Plan accordingly if you're traveling in the area.
