Hello!
Welcome to our new video
From Goa in india
From our beautiful beach hut
In the last video we asked you for some questions
And...
There were many questions and now we'll answer them
Have fun!
The first question we want to answer
So we will start with some questions about us
How old are we? I am 28 years old
I am 29 years old
Which nationality do we have?
As you mayu have noticed, we speak german all the time
So i am from Germany
I'm from Russia
I was born in Russia and went to Germany at age 19
And since 10 years i'm living in Germany
Or actually a bit less
Because we are on our trip for 2 years now
What's our job? Maybe we can talk about our careers
So i went to secondary school and graduated there
Then i made an apprenticeship as a plumber
Or a heating engineer, or whatever you want to call it
Then on second-chance-education
I got my High school diploma
And then i studied mechanical engineering in Hamburg
And worked as a mechanical engineer for about a year
I went to school in Russia
Then i studied, also in Russia
At an University, Graphic design
But i didn't graduate, just 4 semester
Then i moved to Germany
And i was able to get these 4 semesters recognised as my High school Diploma
And then i studied in germany
Communication Design
I graduated and have a Bachelor degree
And worked as a packaging designer in Hamburg
For about 3 years
Why do we make a Worldbicycletour?
We always dreamed of travelling
And we made some research
And we noticed that we would need a lot of money
And we tought we just save money
To make a Worltrip
But then Michel found a Blog of a women who wanted to travel the world by bike
And we heared about Bicycletouring for the first time
And discovered the possibilities
And we researched a lot about it and noticed
That this is doable and that everybody can do it
And then we tought, okay, we will do it too!
And Yeah
Now we are almost 2 years on the road
So, shortly:
The reasons why we are cycling
First, we wanted to see the world
But we didn't have too much money
Next question
Are we vegans and were there some problems
With our vegan diet
So, yeah, we are Vegan
Since 4 years
Almost 5 years
In summer it will be 5 years
So already before our trip we were Vegan
Olga a bit shorter, i started before
But now we are both Vegan
On a Trip like this you can't be 100% Vegan
I think that's clear
But we try, whenever possible
To communicate our wishes for Vegan food
And 99% of the time it works
The people are open minded
And most of them very interested
When we get invited, they are happy
To prepare some Vegan dishes for us
It's no problem
It's not really hard
To be Vegan on a trip like this
Of course it's easier when you just eat everyhting
Of course, but
When you open your mouth and talk about it
Then it's no problem
When we cook by ourself it's super easy
Because with the bicycle
It's quite comfortable to transport veggies, legumes etc.
Because it doesn't taint so fast
And
When we cook by ourselves we don't have any issues
In every country we get nice veggies
Different seasonal stuff
Different grains, rice, bread
Lentils, beans
New spices Pasta
Different spices
To get new flavours all the time
It's awesome
To travel the world and adopt
The countries cousine to your own cousine
That's how we do it. We cook most of the time by ourself
It's great
Next Question! Did we fall with our bikes?
Yes, both of us and each of us describes his case
At the beginning of our trip
When we cycled out of Paris
I had a scmall accident
We cycled on a Bikepath
And suddenly i saw a Beauty Salon
Which called "Beauty Salon Olga"
And i was distracted and looked like "wooooh
And then i crashed into a pillar
Nothing happened, i just was a bit shocked
You have to be carefull all the time!
I also fell once, that was in
Tadjikistan. I think we uploaded a video to Facebook afterwards
After it happened. It happened like this:
We cycled on a gravel road
And i cycled just with one hand
In the other hand the camera and filming Olga
She drove in front of me
And suddenly my frontwheel
Turned to the side because i rode over a stone
And then it immediately turned 90 or even 180 degrees
And i immediately crashed of course
And i fell on the road and in that moment
I couldn't hold the camera
And then there was this big river
And we were close to a bridge
And then the camera flew into the water
Our whole Tadjikistan material gone
From that camera
Which sucks, but in the end
We said, that it was good how it happened
Could be much worse
I could have fallen into the river
The bridge was 4 or 5 m above the water
And it was a fast river
That could have ended much worse
So i had some wounds
On the knee, i don't know on the hands maybe
On the feet
Wasn't too bad
Some days later everything was okay
What are our favorite countries so far...
On our trip?
I liked spain in the summer a lot
The landscapes, fresh fruits and veggies
That was amazing
And i was impressed by Kyrgyzstan
It's not so far from Russia, but i didn't knew it before
Super beautiful green landscapes
Small and big mountians
And very few people
It was like a dream
I am near that with my first country
Tadjikistan, it's next to Kyrgyzstan
I liked it a lot
These enormous...
Huge, epic mountain landscapes
Plateaus on 4500m
7000m Mountains to the right and left
You can see hundreds of km
Or something like that
Unbelivable, i loved this
And then, a bit further
Into the countryside
Near the afghan border
Through the wakhan valley
We were really in the wilderness
That was just awesome
No. 2 is definetely Iran
It was amazing, the people are so nice there
See the culture
Super interesting and exciting
It was a lot of fun to cycle thorugh Iran
In which country where the most hospital people?
Iran!
Yeah, that's definetely Iran
Because of that it's one of my favorites
It was unbelivable
How friendly the people are in Iran
On every corner, on every day,
You get invited
For food, Tea, and to sleep at their house
Everything!
You get bags with fruits
Bread and tea, i don't know!
Dates... the people are really interested about you
They want to take pictures with you
Super friendly
Amazing, most friendliest people in Iran!
But! - We want to say that in every country...
We met always great and friendly people!
How do we experience the culture and the people in all this countries?
As cyclists we experience it at close quarters
We are so close to the people as almost no traveller
As said before, in Iran for example, we got invited so often
Suddenly you are at the family dinner
Or a birthday party
You see the country how it really is
The people, the culture
You are not so often in tourisitic places
Or, we see the places in between them
And that's just amazing
Impressive!
It's very intense
You go with your bike, you are very slow
The people can interact with you quite easy
You start to talk, you maybe get invited
You are sometimes in a small village
In Kasakhstan for example
We were in a small village
And the people said, you are the first tourists ever
Who are visiting our village
We never saw foreigners!
And than you experience...
The real life ...
Of the people ...
Like you would never see it as a normal tourist
Because you wouldn't go to this places normally
So it's very intense, but also very instructive
And very nice of course
Definetely very instructive i would say. You learn a lot about people
What do we miss on our trip?
Of course we miss our friends and family the most
Go out for a drink with a friend
Or go shopping with mum
Talking with the family
See your friends again
So we are almost 2 years away
And of course we got some visits
From family and friends
But not from all of them
So it's hard sometimes
To not see family and friends
But i also miss a good german bread!
Did our journey changed us?
Yes, of course
I would say, definetely
We can cycle better and faster!
For sure, but we also saw so many things
On our trip
This changes you
And you start...
To ask questions about things...
Which are normal and convential in our everyday life
For example...
In the moment i couldn't...
Imagine
To go back to Germany....
And have a normal office job
Wake up in the morning
Go to the office for 9hours and come back home
Lay on the couch, turn on the TV
Drink a beer
And the same next day again
I couldn't do this
I couldn't live this conventional life
Like people "require" it...
Or like it is imagined by many people
I couldn't live it like this
We saw too many things
And learned too many things
There are so many, much more important things...
Than just working and earning money!
We've also learned, with how few things you can live
The Minimalistic way of life
We've discovered that
And we couldn't imagine something else
You don't need much, to be very very happy!
And the next question:
Did our relationshhip changed on our trip?
Yes!
Definetely
We are together for six years now
The last two years, married and on honeymoon
Just this is a big step and brings a lot of changes
But... Yeah...:
On our journey...
We are together almost always
Actually 24hours a day
So we have a really intens relationship
It's completly different...
Than a normal partnership...
Which you have in your normal everyday life
Where one or both of the partners
Go to work during the day
And you see each other in the morning
During the Day you don't see each other
And then in the evening again
And then maybe do something together
This is completly different
So we are doing this for 2 years now
24 hours a day
Together
We've learned many new things about each other
We've learned much more about each other
On the other hand
You don't have any secrets
Because you actually can't do something in secret
Because you are together all the time
Yeah, but...
I think
I enjoy it a lot
It's a great relationship
I would say
Of course sometimes it can be hard
Ups and downs
We have a small fight sometimes
We don't film that or make pictures or rite wabout it
We read your comments, that we are always so happy!
And are happy all day long
Yes, we are almost always happy, 99%!
But if something happens
It's too personal for us to share with you
You don't want to turn on the camera
You are not in the mood for sure
You just want to speak with each other
Exactly, that's how it is
Our relationship definetely changed
But it got better
And stronger
Brought us more together
Our trip!
Of course, sheep is also with us!
Next, how do we fund our journey?
Se yeah, we have ...
Two great Blogarticles
www.rausgefahren.de
They are in the video disicription
1: How we saved money for our trip
And another one...
How much money we spent in one year
Shortly, how do we fund our trip?
We saved money
We sold all our stuff in Germany
On fleemarkets
Ebay
We just sold everything
We made money out of everything
We didn't spend our money
We both worked, as a mechanical engineer and a designer
We could save up quite good
We renounced
To buy coffee or go to lunch
We made our own coffe and brought lunch to the office
We didn't went to the restaurant
Sometimes maybe! But we lived on a very small budget
Aobut 9 months long
And in this 9 months
We could...
Save enough money
To travel for this last 2 years, but ...
We also still have money to continue
How do we cut and edit our videos?
That's my job
I use Magix Video deluxe
It's quite easy to use
But you can still do some great things with it
Editing, sound and animations
I'm very happy
In the description is a link
Then the question, which we got asked the most...
Under the last video or the one before last
What do our bikes and luggage weight?
Our bikes with luggage are 100kg in total
This splits into
45kg for Olga
And 55kg for my bike with luggage
And each of this includes 21kg for the bike
And the rest is
Luggage and panniers
Then another question
Wich vaccinations do we have?
We have a vaccination certificate
An international one
Nothing special
We have all the standard vaccinations
Tetanus, diphtheria, poliomyelites, all the stuff you get as a child
Hepatitis A and B
TBE /ESME if we got bitten by a tick
Which has this virus
And transfers it to us
Which can lead to a meningitis
Thats not good
We have a Rabbies shot
If we got bitten by some wild animlas
Luckily, this didn't happen so far
And we have a cholera shot
We can recommend you this:
Go to your doctor or
A Vaccination center, which you might have in every big city
And get some details. This depends where you want to go
Which shots you'll need
If you want a vaccination or not
We have these, and so far, everything is good
Then the last question for today
Did we go to a doctor during our trip?
Yes, we went to a dentist in Russia
He checked our teeth
And made some fillings
We have an international health insurance
From "Hanse Merkur"
We just wrote a blogarticle about this
It's also in the description
They paid for it, no problem
We went to the doctor, and he made everything
And we paid cash and then we got the money back from our insurance
That was in Russia
Everything worked fine
Our insurance is valid worldwide
So also...
If we need a doctor in India
Which could be more adventureous
Hopfully not, but we would get the money back at least
So until now, everything good
Once at a dentist, nothing more happened
And we didn't need any doctors
Great, that wer e the questions
You wrote us under the last video or the one before
I don't know exactly
The first one from Goa, where we spoke about our plans
You asked us these questions
If there are more, please write a comment
We can make another video like this
It's a nice kind of video
Frequently asked questions
If you liked it, please give a thumbs up
Subscribe and share the video
Thanks a lot, we'll see us in the next video
Bye!
