- What's going on, guys?
It's Coach Josh with I Love Basketball TV,
and today I'm gonna show you three
between the legs dribble moves
that you can use to get by any defender
no matter how athletic, how fast they are.
You're gonna knock it out. Let's get right into it.
When we get into this first move, it's pretty simple.
You're gonna set your man up,
you'll see Steph Curry do it a lot.
He pulls up from the three-point line.
The simple between the legs, behind the back,
right into his shot.
He can do a lot of things with this because
if you create that space when you go between the legs,
and you got them over there,
you got a clear look right there.
Or, instead of going left to right, east and west,
you can go between the legs and slide it
so you can have a direct route to the rim.
What it's gonna do is it's a easy misdirection move.
A lot of times when people go between the legs,
they only go the way that they're going between the legs.
So what you can do is change that up,
go east or west one time,
then the next time, if they do catch it,
you're not gonna go east to west,
they feel like they're gonna jump that pull-up three.
You go between the legs, you're going straight to the rim.
Easy bucket.
Alright so, this next move is one of my favorite.
Kyrie Irving does it a lot.
He does it a lot with behind the back as well.
Again, you start with the between the legs
and you can Hesi with this,
or go right into the in-and-out.
I like the Hesi, cause between the legs,
in-and-out, it's gonna pass that defender real quick.
Again you're already going between the legs,
once you Hesi, they're jumping right there,
once you hit 'em with the in-and-out,
you got 'em jumping, you can get by 'em.
Again, one the keys to matching them between the legs
is getting the ball between the legs really fast
so pound it quick and low,
and once you Hesi, got 'em with the in-and-out,
you clear to the basket.
And you can add countermoves to that as well,
so you go between the legs,
and it look like you gonna do the in-and-out,
you already done the in-and-out,
you just go right into a Hesitation Pull Up.
So again, when you do these moves,
it creates opportunities for other moves you can do
that look just like them, but you goin'
in different directions, different ways,
creating different shots.
The next between the legs dribble move,
I saved this one for last because I got
a nice counter I like to do with it,
that's gonna have the defenders really jumping everywhere.
It's pretty simple, you're not doing anything,
you're doing a simple between the legs,
but instead of going that way,
so if I'm going between the legs, from right to left,
I'm gonna bounce opposite of where I'm dribbling.
So you can do it off the dribble,
or off the wing when you catch the ball.
Okay, you coming off the dribble, it's real simple,
you dribble and bounce, you got that pull up right there.
You can do the same thing
if you catching the ball on the wing,
you catch it, a clean dribble-bounce,
pull up right into your shot.
Now why I like this is because you gonna create space.
It's a quick one-two move,
just boom, one-two,
you jumpin' in the opposite direction.
I like to add a counter to it.
After you've done the move once or twice,
you got some points, the guy's probably gon' bite for it,
now what I like to do is, when I go between,
I'll bounce right, and then you can go behind,
and bounce the opposite direction.
So again, it doesn't matter how fast the defender is,
that's a hard move to keep up with.
So again, a simple between, shift to the opposite side,
and then go right into the behind the back,
and bounce to the other side,
and you can end that with a pull up.
Just a quick between, bounce, pull up right there.
So it's almost like, when you doing step backs
or a side-step pull up, but off of a two dribble move.
So it's gonna be just as effective,
probably create more space,
and give you more opportunities to do other moves
that look pretty similar.
So I know I said only the three
between the legs dribble moves,
but I'm gonna add a bonus, just 'cause I like y'all so much.
This is a pretty smooth move, a lot of players,
especially Damian Lillard does the Lunge Dribble.
So this'll be a good one to definitely create some space
because when you go between the legs,
you wanna go downstream.
Right after the between the legs,
because you've done a lot of the other combo moves
like the in-and-out and the Hesitation, and between-behind,
they're gonna be looking for some of those similar moves.
So next, when you go between the legs, and Lunge Dribble,
you really wanna still drive them to the basket.
You gonna go 'tween the legs,
and so instead of going left and right,
you know, between the legs right here,
you wanna go between the legs going toward the basket,
so that when you lunge, you create a space,
and you open up for the shot right there.
You can do it either side, between the legs, lunge.
Hard pound right there, and it'll create some space for you,
again giving you more opportunities, different looks,
to get your shot out, to get by defenders.
