Youtube daily report w Apr 9 2018

Welcome back to Geeks R Sexy. I'm Jason LeDyc your host for the fourth Friday

of every month talking about business, success and all the things you need to

do to have a great business here in Las Vegas. I'm back with all of my guests

we're doing our panel discussion Casey Jade from Casey Jade Photo and Anna Aberle and

Rachel West from AberleWest Marketing and Design. And what's great about this

this is the first time we've ever really had a theme for our show because all of

these businesses that are here today are about visuals and graphics and branding

through visuals and graphics. And I want to I want to ask all of you, all of your

businesses are based on image of the ideas and emotions that images convey.

Why do you think that these images are so important to marketing your business

branding a business and doing business especially here in Las Vegas. So you've got

to stand out. You've got to stand out whether it's visually or making a

bold type, you've got to make a statement to even be heard here in Las Vegas. And

how are you wanting your audience to perceive you and are they perceiving it

in the right way? And to be professional and consistent so if you don't have

professional imagery, if you don't have a professional logo you're not showing up

how you should for your ideal client. So professional is an

interesting word, because there are a lot of very successful businesses that

their imagery and branding is almost on purpose designed to be amateur and what

do you think of businesses that do that? Can you give me an example because I'm

not I'm trying to think you know and and my point is is it's usually very

deliberate that they're kind of retro or like Half Price lawyers like half price

is really great if you're not from Las Vegas you don't you don't know what this

is but there's big billboards all over town for Half Price lawyers and I'll

just leave it at that but yeah it's very cartoony and it it doesn't look like a

lot has been put into it. I do have a really really really annoying and get

stuck in your head quickly jingle because now it's stuck in my head just

cuz you guys are they are they like out on TV? I know their phone number

let's just say that. So clearly as we're getting through this theme

whether you are very slick and produced and in some

case in some cases people might say over produced or you look like it's kind of

amateur and thrown together depending on depending on what your brand is that can

be really effective since clearly you know this number and and their branding

is good. Now most of us, myself included, don't have the talented eye that you all

have for graphics and images. What can business owners do to prepare themselves

to work with a graphic designer or a photographer to help put their business

in the best light? What do they need to come to you with? and we talked a little

about this for you guys the last segment, but but what do they really need to come

to you with in order to be ready to work with you so that you can help them most

effectively? I think what helps most to have a really clear vision of what they

want their business that represent and where they want their business to go and

who their ideal client is, so when they have that we can come together with

a series of ideas on marketing and branding strategies that will help them

win instead of us sitting down having a conversation to define those three

things when we're supposed to be defining how we can help them with their

imagery. I totally agree I couldn't have said it better myself. Now what,

let's say a business owner because business owners have a lot of things they are

thinking about. They're thinking about getting out there networking

they're thinking about bringing that revenue in and again not everybody is that that

visually minded or that emotionally minded type but that's really what I

want to dig into is how do you, how do you as imagery people help help business

owners who don't have that I they don't necessary have that sense of aesthetic

or that sense of really who they are and what they're all about how can you how

can you help them bring that out? So by asking them just series of questions

where who are you trying to market to? okay so half price lawyers who do you

think they're marketing to their marketing to maybe lower class income

families that can't afford a full lawyer that to me that would be more appealing

oh my god I'm gonna call half price lawyers so who are they're trying to

market to because if they want to do high-end business you wouldn't go to a

half price lawyers to do you deal with your CEO so so so before the internet

gets all mad at me about this becuase I know they're gonna be I

just want everyone know I didn't bring up Half Price lawyers and I didn't say

any of this stuff so send your cards and letters do people still do that send

them to Anna just calm down Internet it's gonna be

okay. so and then you do that a little bit different way

with the photography right so how do you you guys approach it through a very much

I don't want to call it a discovery process what is your business about who

your ideal clients that kind of thing but you go about that a little bit

differently with your clients right? I do i I do ask them a series of questions to

get to know who they are and what they want to accomplish, but also I have them

bring in a vision board or a mood board so um Pinterest is really really really

handy for putting together a series of things that they either like or the

images a lot of times my clients won't know what they like about the image, but

if they have a series of images that they can show me that they like all of

these images I can pull common themes to show them that this is what they like

about this image, this is what they like about this image. It visually tells me a

story without having them to tell me a story so it's easier for me to get

visual clues out of that and discern what they was the mood or the type of

photography they like. Is there an example you can give us since you asked

me for an example? I'm absolutely so I had a actually this week I am doing a

senior photography shoot and the girl is a senior in high school she's gonna be

graduating going to college in Florida and her mom was suggesting a bunch of

different ideas for her shoot she was sitting over here going she's a

mom right so I she was a little bit shy she was a little bit it felt like an

intervention kind of like everybody was like talking at her. So I was like hey I

know you like Photoshop I know you like fantasy images like is there a way that

you could just send me some images on Pinterest that you like that you might

want to like ideas you might want to play with so when I looked at her

Pinterest board it was absolutely

completely opposite of what everybody had come up with before. She wanted to do

something very pinup themed and every single thing in her images was in nature

so everything was surrounded by greenery so the only way I would have ever been

able to discern that would have been through those images because that's what

she wants to portray. If I asked her where she would want to shoot in town

she go downtown was kind of cool um but by seeing all of the greenery and her

images I figured out I need to take her someplace where I can have that same

effect. And this is this is the reason you want to bring in pros when it

comes to graphic design when it comes to photography when you're doing your

branding imagery because especially guys like me we don't always know what it is

we're trying to say what it is we're trying to get across we want it so you

know if you're if you're really sure you're gonna speed the process up but if

you're not or you just have to kind of have some ideas or in a lot of cases

business stories don't have any idea it's like I want to do this business but

I don't I don't know what I want to do I don't know what I look like right I just

need help these are your girls. Holla at your girls yeah. So nobody does

business alone, even if you are the only person work if you're a sole proprietor

and the only person working your business nobody does business alone you

guys are in a partnership we talked a little bit about that but tell us a

little bit about how you've built a team around you what you've learned about

building a team around you with your business and and who are the people

you've brought in on your team to help your businesses out? We grow

through networking and we do a lot of networking throughout town and get

connections do that and everybody that we've met is very supportive and help

helping us grow as well yeah. Do you guys outsource anything? Yes we do so yeah so

who was the first person that you guys brought onto your team like who was the

first person that you guys hired? In your team?

We outsource our printing so we do it locally through Las Vegas just because

it makes it nice and easy for a client to get their stuff now versus

waiting four to five days so this way it kind of helps our client if they're in

a crunch to be able to rely on us to be able to

help them with the printing so and we use the local print

solutions here in Las Vegas we have a really good relationship for them.

Okay and who's on your team? I don't have a team per se I haven't really

outsourced anything I kind of still wear all of my hats. I am looking at hiring a

bookkeeper and figuring out somebody to outsource some of my edits to. I have not

passed that torch yet. Well if you are a bookkeeper or a photo editor that girl I

hope you enjoyed asking them a question to you that's the last question you're

going to ask this is my show I ask the questions here. Okay all right so it's

springtime in Las Vegas is actually a gorgeous day here we've got we've had a

lot of craziness with our weather here but it's gorgeous day here in Las Vegas

one of them must do or must see things people need to do in springtime in Las

Vegas definitely check out Lake Las Vegas with all of their activities over

on the lake they have the little like rocket-propelled things you can do above

the water where you're kind of like floating they have a bunch of different

things you can do on the lake like the little stand-up paddleboard thing I

don't know what's called you can rent canoes you can do dragon boating yeah.

This is the weather also for hiking or camping if any of you guys are actually

the perfect time I know I'm not gonna be too cold at night but it's not gonna be

too hot during the day yeah you got like you got like three days of this Las

Vegas so go enjoy it yeah before it gets too hot now. Yeah my boyfriend's going

out camping I like wake me up this weekend nice it's very cool look what's

something on your list to get to get to get to for people to see in the spring

here in Las Vegas?

Hoover Dam. Hoover Dam is really one of those things

everyone should see that once in her life it's incredible always amazed every

time I go it's it's an incredible engineering marvel. It's a lot easier to

get to and kind of get around they don't let cars drive over it that often

anymore it's a if you go down inside the inside the dam you'd see all the the

turbines and generators and all that come it's really super cool and it's

amazing they built something so massive almost a hundred years ago is the 1930s

they built that so it's a it's really kind of a marvel of engineering so one

of the things I like to ask all of our guests before they go you're all

business owners what is one piece of practical advice you can give to our

audience about starting a business or having a business you that you've

learned since you've had your business? have an accountability partner

especially if you're doing it alone I know you guys are partners so that's

awesome. Having somebody to run your ideas by having somebody to help keep

you accountable is absolutely huge and you want somebody that lifts you up not

as super negative so you want somebody who is gonna help you achieve your

dreams and help make you the best business owner that you can be.

Definitely Wow okay I would say a little bit more flexibility the more flexible

you are in your business the more you are able to help your clients.

any advice take it slow one step at a time yeah

one step at a time being flexible one step at a time actually it really is

great advice because I think we all we started our businesses we had this idea

of the businesses gonna be this and the clients are gonna be this and this is

how I'm gonna get them and it's all gonna like this is these are all the

steps it's going to go and success is just at the end of these steps and then

and then you find out that step one didn't quite go as planned and and you

know now now it's it's not steps in an order in a sequential order but it's a

lot of a lot of plates are spinning all at once so I think that's great advice

as well as having an accountability partner telling people what you're doing

and having them you know checking in with them and say aren't you going to do

this other thing too and so great great advice thank you so much all right so

we're running out of time but I want each of you to tell us where our viewers

Is Vladimir Putin the Richest Man Alive? - Duration: 6:24.

Revered by the people of Russia, Vladimir Putin proved that short term tough decisions

were worth making when he cut poverty by half and contributed to a rapid growth in Russian

GDP.

After taking over the Russian premiership on August 9th 1999, Putin's popularity has

rapidly grown in the Motherland.

Born in 1952 in Leningrad, Putin studied law and economics before joining the KGB, where

he rose to the very top of the organization before becoming head of state.

He has a black belt in Judo, speaks both German and English, enjoys bareback horse-riding,

and hunting wild game.

But is Putin, who won the Russian election for the 4th time on March 18th, 2018, just

rich in the hearts of the Russian people, or has he amassed a personal fortune?

As speculation rises about the value of the Russian prime minister, a number of billion

dollar figures have been batted to and fro.

Today we'll look at the wealth of the Russian leader, in this episode of the Infographics

Show, is Vladimir Putin the richest person alive?

The richest people in the world have a mind-blowingly large stash of cash unimaginable to most of

us simple run-of-the mill day to day earthly citizens.

Bill Gates, for example, has a net worth of around 80-90 billion dollars, similar to the

total GDP of Cuba.

Phil Knight, who invented the Nike running shoe, runs away each year with a total net

worth of $30 billion, similar to the GDP of Bolivia.

Russian steel magnate and Chelsea football club owner Roman Abromavich is worth about

$10 billion, similar to the gdp of Madagascar.

Currently, there are around 2,200 billionaires in the world, and these generally range from

tech CEOS, to heiresses, to investors, sports designers, and commodity moguls.

Heads of state are also well represented on the world's rich lists with the Sultan of

Oman valued at $700 million.

The president of Kazakhstan is valued at around $1 billion, and the Prime Minister of the

United Arab Emirates is worth around $4 billion.

The Sultan of Brunei is worth $20 billion, and estate of the late King of Thailand is

worth approximately twice that, at $40 billion.

But according to Hermitage Capital Management CEO Bill Browder, they're individual wealth

doesn't come close to that of Russian President Vladimir Putin, who has a personal fortune

as high as $200 billion.

Browder (named Putin enemy number one in a GQ magazine article) claims to be one of the

best authorities on Putin, and as co-founder of Hermitage Capital Management, an investment

fund that was at one time the largest portfolio investor in Russia, he should be in a position

to know.

And Browder isn't the only one to wave his finger accusingly at Putin for secretly being

in the billionaire boys club.

Kremlin adviser Stanislav Belkovsky estimated in 2007 that Putin's worth was somewhere

in the region of $40 billion - a figure that would place him in the top 22 of the current

Forbes list.

This estimate was based on holdings in the oil sector, including a 37% stake in the oil

company Surgutneftegaz, and a 4.5% control of natural gas company Gazprom, along with

substantial shares in a commodities trading outfit known as Gunvor.

In 2012, Belkovsky upped his estimate of Putin's worth to $70 billion which, if true, puts

Putin way above the King of Thailand as numero uno richest head of state.

Before looking at how the Russian premier possibly managed to raise such a sum, let's

look at how his reign shaped out.

On December 31st 1999, a slightly shaky and defeated Russian leader, Boris Yelstin, handed

over the premiership of Russia to Vladimir Putin.

At this time, Russia was considered to be in a somewhat shambolic state, and Putin was

unproven as a politician, somewhat of an unknown force not only at home in Russia but also

on the worldwide stage.

Fast forward a couple of years, and both Russia and former head of the KGB Putin have grown

in the estimations of the Russian people.

Both Russia and Putin have become a reckoning force on the global stage.

Putin had blossomed as an elusive unknown in the dusty theater of Russian politics,

and flourished in the hearts of the people, emerging as one of the most colorful and flamboyant

world leaders.

But did his bank account also flourish?

Well, the Kremlin isn't telling, and figuring out the Russian president's real value has

been the golden fleece of intelligence and cyber hackers across the world.

It's an enormous task to decipher who has what when monies are distributed across a

complex and secret web of accounts and holding companies, real estate, and business interests

worldwide.

Putin certainly has some of the trappings of the mega rich, with the alleged ownership

of a $1 billion palace near the Black Sea.

The property features a columned façade reminiscent of a Russian Tsar's 18th century palace,

a private theatre, a landing pad with three helicopter bays, and accommodation for a small

private army.

The sort of holding you might see in a James Bond film.

A scandalous 2012 dossier drawn up by the former deputy Prime Minister Boris Nemstov

links Putin to 20 other palaces, 58 airplanes, 4 yachts, and a collection of watches worth

almost half a million dollars.

The report also claims that Putin has a jet which includes a bathroom with gold fittings

and a $60,000 toilet, that we assume is also made of solid gold.

The Russian premier has also been linked to a 2,300 acre residence on Lake Valdai in north-western

Russia that has a cinema, a bowling alley, and a presidential church.

Putin's official salary in 2012 was just $70,000.

But when asked about his wealth for Steven Myers' book the New Tsar, Putin neatly side-stepped

the question answering "I am the wealthiest man not just in Europe but in the whole world:

I collect emotions.

I am wealthy in that the people of Russia have twice entrusted me with the leadership

of a great nation such as Russia.

I believe that is my greatest wealth."

Indeed.

And perhaps all his wealth does belong to the motherland.

Exiled Russian banker Sergie Pugachev told the Guardian newspaper that "everything

Putin has belongs to the Russian Federation."

So technically everything he owns will be handed back to Russia when he steps down.

Putin should constitutionally have to do this once having served his fourth and final term

as president, as in Russia, Prime Ministers only get to serve 4 terms.

That is unless Putin changes the constitution to allow himself to serve another term.

And as the most popular Russian premier in recent history, that could well happen.

So, do you think the Russian leader should be worth so many billions of dollars?

Is he a corrupt politician, as some would allege, or did he earn his money the good

old fashioned way?

CASTRAÇÃO - Duration: 1:44.

-How are you, Doc? -Hi, Mrs. Anna. How are you?

-What do we have today? -I'm castrating Dudu today.

Really? Where is he? What breed?

Son of a bitch!

-Ouch, Mom! -That's what he is!

He knocked up 3 girlfriends, 2 one-night stands

and 4 house cleaners.

No one wants to work for us, Doc!

Hold on, Mrs. Anna.

I'm tired of teaching them how to make meatloaf.

Stop, Mom! It hurts!

How am I supposed to castrate your son?

Doc, you get the plier and you cut

that skin between the asshole and the balls, that's how.

I know the procedure but that's not how it works.

-It's not. -Okay then. I'll do it.

You can use a nail clipper. Can't you, Doc?

-Mrs. Anna... -It can work. I know how to knit.

-You're overly emotional. -He agreed!

-Let's go home, Mom. -You agreed!

-Stop, Mom! -He's gonna be so calm...

Mrs. Anna, isn't it easier to make him use condoms?

See?

I filled the house with condoms, Doc!

My hair is oily from so much latex in the air.

This scumbag doesn't use it!

Hold on!

Let's think about an alternative solution.

What if you hire an older cleaning lady?

I've tried, Doc. Jussara was 50.

It's like his sperm is a shears on steroids!

Jesus Christ!

Now not only I ask for references but for IUDs, too.

Aren't you overreacting?

Do you think?

Move, Dudu!

-Get out, Mom! -Come! Come, Dudu!

Get out, Mom!

Dudu! Off, Dudu!

Get out, Mom! Let me live my life!

-Come! Come! -Let me live my life.

Dudu! Dudu, come! Come, Dudu!

Can you get that spray for me, Ma'am?

-That one there. -It feels so good...

-Get it... -Don't get it, Mom!

Just let me... Oh, I'm done. I'm done.

Visual Branding Las Vegas Style – Panel Discussion on Geeks R Sexy - Duration: 14:02.

Definitely Wow okay I would say a little bit more flexibility the more flexible

you are in your business the more you are able to help your clients.

any advice take it slow one step at a time yeah

one step at a time being flexible one step at a time actually it really is

great advice because I think we all we started our businesses we had this idea

of the businesses gonna be this and the clients are gonna be this and this is

how I'm gonna get them and it's all gonna like this is these are all the

steps it's going to go and success is just at the end of these steps and then

and then you find out that step one didn't quite go as planned and and you

know now now it's it's not steps in an order in a sequential order but it's a

lot of a lot of plates are spinning all at once so I think that's great advice

as well as having an accountability partner telling people what you're doing

and having them you know checking in with them and say aren't you going to do

this other thing too and so great great advice thank you so much all right so

we're running out of time but I want each of you to tell us where our viewers

can find you how they can get a hold of you and because I I want them all to get

a hold of you and get some pictures taken and get some graphic design and

web design done. Awesome well you can find us at AberleWest.com and

The property features a columned façade reminiscent of a Russian Tsar's 18th century palace,

a private theatre, a landing pad with three helicopter bays, and accommodation for a small

private army.

Let us know your thoughts in the comments!

Top 10 Awesome Jobs That Don't Need an Education Degree - Duration: 11:41.

Top 10 Awesome Jobs That Don't Need an Education Degree

You will get nowhere in life without a degree', they say.

We all witness a rat race to the top everyday and everybody around us is chasing after a

professional degree so that they can hope to land that high-paying job so that one day

they can own that dream apartment, that dream car and support a family and a lavish lifestyle.

Of course, that is almost everyone's aim in life these days.

But the question we all tend to ask is, is there any job that will pay us without a professional

degree.

It's safe to say that this question is not absurd; in fact, there are countless jobs

in today's world that do not require a professional degree.

Here is a list of 10 jobs that pay hefty amounts, for all those of you that don't wish to

be a part of the meaningless quest for a degree in a field your heart does not lie.

1.

Fashion designers and models The one profession that pays really well and

has close to zero requirements for a professional degree is the world of fashion.

Let the world of fashion suck you in, all you need to do is allow your little toe in.

Fashion designers are essentially required to have tons of originality oozing out and

a lot of creativity that is feasible.

There are a large number of designers who work in this field and are lucrative, with

no professional education to back them up.

Coco Chanel, Vera Wang, Ralph Lauren, Gianni Versace and Tommy Hilfiger are a few big names

that the world of Fashion swears by.

These designers swear by experience and the daring to never have attended fashion school.

As for models, the earlier they start, the better they are.

Models, as we all know, have a shelf life in their world of cut-throat competition.

But they are free to start as early as they please, without any requirement for a professional

degree.

All they need to have is the right kind of determination and a good figure.

In the list of jobs that pay brilliantly without a professional degree, these stand at the

top with an annual income as high as 50 lakh at an average.

2.

Web-designers

The internet, they say, is the beginning and end of everything in today's world.

They could not have been more right about it.

Remember how Facebook came in and toppled your whole world and now you cannot spend

a day without opening the link to that website?

Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Facebook was no more than a college dropout when he started out.

Today, everyone needs that one person who can put cyber-life into their big idea looking

no farther than talented web-designers.

What makes a good web-designer, you ask?

Nothing more than good knowledge of the technicalities involved and the thirst

to be different while making something people can easily use.

Freelance web-designers earn a lot per project and they form the backbone of many high-functioning

internet enterprises.

3.

Hair Stylists and Make-up artists Hair styling is a highly competitive field

with the demand for stylists increasing daily.

Question is, what does it take to be a stylist with a name and place in the world?

It takes a little bit of hands on experience and a couple of styling classes.

You have to look to make your own signature in such a field, because at the end of the

day your fate is in your hands, literally.

So look up a couple of styling courses and take them, practice and see how you can invent

your unique style with what you have gathered.

There is a lot of money and incentives waiting for you.

It is a similar story with make-up artists as they need not have a professional degree,

a thorough, in-depth knowledge of different styles, be it vintage or modern.

4.

Linguists Languages are important in today's world

and knowledge of multiple languages only makes you more desirable.

Nowadays, where communication forms the crux of almost every enterprise, having personnel

with linguistic skills only proves to be an asset.

The best part of this is that you need not have a professional degree in order to be

a practicing linguist, all you need is perfection in multiple languages and if need be, a certificate

of the fact that

you have studied this through a recognized institution.

Now you see, the deal is, that certificate is not necessary if you can show your linguistic

skills.

Linguists make brilliant interpreters and organizations as big as The United Nations

scout for people who can speak more than a couple of tongues.

If you have the thirst to learn languages and the flair it takes to master them, you

need not go to college.

All you need is training in these languages and the desire to experience various cultures.

5.

Event-planners Celebrations look very easy but really, up

close, planning these celebrations is actually an uphill task.

You have to co-ordinate with at least fifty other people and for us to indulge ourselves

in such tedious tasks may actually prove to be quite the night-mare.

This

is where our dear event-planners come from, whom with their contact

How Cars Got So Expensive | WheelHouse - Duration: 6:15.

Buying a new car sucks.

Yeeeehaw! Do the stanky leg, do-

Dealership haggling aside, the most stressful

part about buying a car is usually figuring out for paying for it.

Cars are expensive, usually the most expensive thing you own.

But it wasn't always like that.

Here's how cars got so pricey.

Henry Ford sold the Model T for $825 in 1908.

When Ford improved their assembly line, the cost went down to $300.

When adjusted for inflation, I'm gonna be saying that term a lot, that's the same

as going from $23,000 to 4300.

Henry Ford's assembly line made the car something pretty much anyone could afford.

Early access to transportation changed the way americans lived, and growing industrialization

meant the birth of the middle class.

Fast forward to 1950, and America is doing great.

The Post-war economic boom doubled and even tripled wages compared to 1938.

When adjusted for inflation to today's money, the median income in the US was around $52,000

a year.

In 1950, The base model F100 pickup will set you back around 1300 dollars, or about 14

thousand today.

That's a great deal for a brand new truck, a Ford F series no less.

When we look at the F100's lifespan, we see that when adjusted for inflation the price

for a base F series truck has nearly tripled in it's 70 year history.

And it's not alone.

When compared against the Honda Civic and even a base Mercedes sedan, pretty much every

model of car has seen an increase in price by about double.

Let's compare the features of a Base model 2018 Ford F150 to that of a 1948 F-1.

When new, the F-1 made 95 horsepower and that was about it.

The F-1 didn't get armrests , radio or a dome light until 1953.The F150 has a 6 speed

automatic transmission, 3.3 liter V6 with variable cam timing making 290 horsepower,

Independent front suspension, power steering, air conditioning and most importantly, an

aux jack.

(Bleed by Meshuggah)

A production vehicle that had every feature present in the 2018 F150 would cost a fortune

in 1948, even simple technology like power steering wouldn't be available to the public

for another three years.

And that's just everyday features. That base 2018 F150 get a decent combined 22 miles per

gallon thanks to that variable cam timing.

Old flathead engines like those in the F-1, would be lucky to hit the mid teens.

Old cars were absolutely horrible on safety.

Car safety as a whole needs it's own episode but I just want to look at this IIHS video

comparing the 1959 Chevy Bel Air to a 2009 Chevy Malibu.

See how the old car completely collapses in the collision?

How the roof pillars lose all integrity, and the steering column hits the dummy in the

face?

That guy is dead for sure.

The Malibu on the other hand, is completely totalled, but the driver survives.

When adjusted for inflation a base Malibu cost around 25 grand, while the Bel Air would

be about 22 grand.

The Bel Air is pretty sick, I won't lie, but I don't think the 3000 dollars you save

is worth being bludgeoned to death by your steering wheel.

Even the most basic cars today for lower prices are a way better value.

Take the Mitsubishi Mirage, one of the cheapest cars on sale in the US.

At it's most basic, the list price is $13,395.

Even at that low of an entry fee, it has standard features that would have blown Henry Ford's

mind.

Bwoooaaah

It's got a touchscreen, rear view camera, and attractive chrome grille accents.

The Model T can't touch this thing.

Okay that's great, Nolan, new cars are an awesome value compared to what my great grandpa

was driving.

But I still can't afford one.

Well neither can I.

But why not?

In 1950 the median income, when adjusted for inflation, was $52,000 per household.

Today, the median income is $59,000.

Looking at the median income next to the price of the F150 side by side from 1950 to now,

the price of a pickup increased 14,069 dollars.

That's outpaces the median income by a factor of two.

Going back again to 1928, buying a Model T costs 300 bucks.

So that's about 21% of your annual income going towards the purchase of a new car.

Comparing that to today, using a base, base Ford F150, it costs about 47% of your yearly

haul.

But if you get a Supercrew cab, you know, a truck that could actually hold your family

with, that takes nearly 60 percent.

It takes twice as much money to buy a new car as it did 60 years ago, which is fine

because new cars are better.

But the problem is wages didn't keep up with the rise in prices.

Okay Nolan, just don't buy a new car then.

A used car is just as good and more affordable.

No problem.

Yeah I agree, but the problem for a lot of people is saving up a big enough chunk to

buy a used car in the first place.

Instead of buying a used car outright, more and more people are signing up for long term

loans.

A 74 month loan on a two year old car is not uncommon, and loans up to 96 months are getting

more popular.

As of the fourth quarter of 2016, loans lasting 73 months or longer made up 31 percent of

auto loans given out by Credit Unions, comapared to 12 percent in 2009.

And these loans don't depreciate with the value of the vehicle, meaning by the time

you're done paying it off, you've payed way more than what the already depreciated

car was worth.

In most places, especially small towns, cars are an absolute necessity in our daily life.

People will take on these brutal loans because they don't have any other choice.

And with stories coming out about long term loans with interest rates of 25%, it feels

wrong.

Reginae Carter Explains Why She Went Off On Haters Talking About Her Baby Sis | Down In The DMs - Duration: 2:50.

- Hey what's up?

It's Reginae Carter and it's about to go down in the DMs.

(Upbeat piano music)

I slid into somebody's DMs once.

And I deleted it.

(Laughing)

I sent heart eyes.

You know how you can like,

you can unsend something?

I definitely unsent it, you know.

- [Interviewer] Did they see it?

I don't think so.

I hope not.

I really, if they did they didn't say nothin' back.

I took it back because I'm like,

oh, I'm trippin' like.

If he likes me he gonna slide in my DMs, you know.

Sometimes I do go on my DMs when I'm bored

and you see somebody just put a little heart eye

and I'm like okay let me see.

Then, boom!

(Laughing)

It's crazy cause I get the nudes

and I get all those pics

I just feel like don't do that.

Like, why are you sending this to me?

Let's get into these DMs.

Once I made it to this music industry,

you will become my wife.

I promise that.

Hmm.

Okay.

Really, you don't even know me.

(Laughing)

Please I want you.

Dang, have dinner with me?

What can you lose?

I'll jump in a volcano for you.

Oh my gosh.

I would just tell this person

Baby, I'm confused.

You confused.

We all confused on what you got goin' on.

I would never have a chance to ever talk to you

and I can stay on your page and look at your beauty all day.

That's so sweet.

You need your bread ass whopped by somebody,

straight out the hood.

Dang.

(Laughing)

With the little sister

she's my first little sister

so I felt like, this is a little baby

and they posted a picture of her on The Shame Room

and all of the comments were just like ignorant.

And my mom called me and she was just like

"How could they say something,

how could people say something so cruel about

a little baby that can't even say anything for themselves?"

And I understand everyone has their opinions,

but shoot I have mine too.

So I got on that live and I told ya'll listen

I will fight behind her, don't play with her

and period, we good.

(Laughing)

People that sit on their phone and comment

all this mean stuff

They're just miserable you know

You gotta give it to them

(Clapping)

I gave it to 'em.

Celebrities Who Disappeared After An Injury - Duration: 4:52.

Human beings are fragile, and accidents happen all the time — even to the rich, famous,

and fabulous.

But the human spirit is incredibly strong, as evidenced by these artists who were nearly

destroyed by serious — and potentially fatal — accidents.

Let's take a look at some celebs who disappeared for a period of time after an injury... only

to rise up and get back to work.

Paula Abdul

"Opposites Attract" singer Paula Abdul was right up there with Madonna and Janet Jackson

in the pantheon of early '90s female pop stars.

But after one last album in 1995, Abdul straight up disappeared when an injury prevented her

from touring or promoting her music as much as she would have liked.

In 1992, Abdul was involved in a rough emergency plane landing that left her with physical

damage requiring extensive medical attention.

Abdul told Today,

"I had four plates and 14 cervical spinal surgeries.

It all happened during the time that I disappeared and no one knew where I went."

After a handful of public appearances, Abdul re-emerged in 2002 as the "nice judge" on

American Idol.

Tracy Morgan

In June 2014, Saturday Night Live vet Tracy Morgan was riding in a limo-bus on the New

Jersey turnpike when the vehicle got hammered by a semi-truck.

According to CNN, Morgan suffered broken ribs, a broken leg, and a broken nose.

While Morgan kept fans abreast of his progress, he didn't return to entertainment until October

2015… with a triumphant SNL hosting gig.

"I'm back.

It feels so good to be here."

Gloria Estefan

In 1990, superstar Gloria Estefan was onboard a tour bus that was hit by a truck, and roughly

half a dozen people were rushed to the hospital.

According to the Los Angeles Times, Estefan was listed in stable condition, but suffered

a broken vertebra along her spinal column, leaving her in a tremendous amount of pain.

Recovery was slow and difficult, but almost a year later, Estefan re-emerged on the American

Music Awards in January 1991 to perform her appropriately titled comeback hit, "Coming

Out of the Dark."

"I said, you know what, OK.

Been there, done that.

Pull yourself by the bootstraps and let's move forward because it's a waste of time."

Christopher Reeve

For millions of fans, actor and horse enthusiast Christopher Reeve will always be Superman.

But in 1995, after falling off his horse and landing on his head, Reeve was paralyzed from

the neck down.

According to the Washington Post, he required extensive rehabilitation and a respirator

for the rest of his life.

Amazingly, Reeve returned to the screen, starring in a 1998 made-for-TV remake of Alfred Hitchcock's

Rear Window.

He went on to raise funds for spinal cord injury research through the Christopher Reeve

Paralysis Foundation, wrote his memoirs, and co-directed the animated movie Everyone's

Hero, which was released a year and a half after his passing in 2004.

Sharon Stone

Basic Instinct star Sharon Stone nearly lost her life in 2001 when she suffered a potentially

fatal brain aneurysm.

Fortunately, she lived through it, but the experience took a tremendous toll.

"And then I had to learn to walk, hear, write, talk, remember, and everything all over again."

Just a couple of years later, her career was back in gear again.

"Everything got better for me through this experience.

It was like starting over."

Dylan O'Brien

On the set of the third Maze Runner film in 2016, Dylan O'Brien was filming a stunt when

he was pulled from one moving vehicle and struck by another.

According to Vulture, he suffered a slew of brutal injuries, including a facial fracture,

a concussion, and some brain trauma.

It took O'Brien six months to get healthy again, during which the actor debated if he

even wanted to return to showbiz.

He told Vulture,

"I really was in a dark place there for a while and it wasn't an easy journey back.

There was a time there where I didn't know if I would ever do it again."

He did, of course, do it again, co-starring in the 2017 movie American Assassin — as

well as bravely going back to complete a little film called Maze Runner: The Death Cure.

Carrie Underwood

Just a week after co-hosting the CMA Awards in November of 2017, country star Carrie Underwood

suffered a nasty fall on some steps outside her home.

According to her team, the singer broke her wrist and needed an operation to insert some

kind of metal securing device.

Underwood updated fans on Twitter, writing, "I just wanted [to] let everyone know that

I'm doing great.

Had surgery on my wrist yesterday & all went well … even though I'll be setting off airport

metal detectors from now on."

But according to People magazine in January 2018, Underwood revealed in a fan club letter

that the accident had been more intense than she'd initially let on, saying,

"In addition to breaking my wrist, I somehow managed to injure my face as well.

I'll spare you the gruesome details, but when I came out of surgery the night of my fall,

the doctor told [my husband] Mike that he had put between 40 and 50 stitches in."

She added that when she was "ready to get in front of a camera" again, she might, quote,

"look a bit different."

However, when Below Deck star Adrienne Gang saw Underwood at a gym, she took a picture

and posted it on Twitter.

To us, Underwood looks… just like she always did.

Childless Couple Chooses To Foster 4 Siblings. 2.5 Years Later Judge Brought To Tears In Middle Of - Duration: 3:11.

Childless Couple Chooses To Foster 4 Siblings.

2.5 Years Later Judge Brought To Tears In Middle Of Hearing

On a Wednesday in August 2015, Phyllis and Eric Watson received their licenses to become

foster parents with the potential to adopt.

The next day, an adoption agency called with their first case: four siblings, two boys

and two girls, seeking a home where they could stay together.

The four children came from a home in Overland Park, Kansas where the marriage failed early

and substance abuse followed.

They endured neglect and abuse so bad the state took custody of them.

"We were thinking one foster child at a time.

Maybe two?

We weren't thinking four at once," said Eric Watson, youth director of Faith Baptist

Church in Olathe, KS.

But Eric said he couldn't bear the thought of the kids being separated.

"The turning point for me was they were going to be split up and I didn't want to

see that," he said through tears.

Saturday rolled around and the couple had made up their minds: bring 'em on.

After the childless couple went forward with their decision, Phyllis Watson said, "we

were a little shocked, afraid, I don't know what to say.

Scared?"

The couple bought a bigger car for trips to Culver's Restaurant – where they all ate

on their first day together, they even built a larger house to hold everybody.

Two and half years later, they made the adoptions official.

Judge Kathleen L. Sloan struggled to hold back tears as the new family filled six chairs

in her courtroom, in what she called "the best hearing that any judge gets to have in

the United States."

"I order this packed courtroom to give the Watsons a standing ovation," said Judge

Sloan.

The standing-room-only gathering of relatives, friends, and classmates erupted in applause.

Alisia, 17; Bradley, 16; Cody, 15 and Emma, 11, were legally Watsons, the Kansas family

had officially tripled in size.

Biological grandmother Susan Bustamente said the children were always well behaved, with

credit going to big sister Alisia.

"She's been a mother to those kids since she was three years old,'" said Grandma

Sue, who sat with the family at the court ceremony.

"They've had a hard life but they're strong," she added.

Had the Watsons not taken them in, the children likely would have been split into separate

foster homes, officials said.

"It's rare to see kids in the system, especially teens, find this perfect of an

ending," said caseworker Kiersten Stolxenberg of the adoption agency KVC Kansas.

"I really believe, honestly, that God's hand has been all through this process,"

said new dad Eric Watson.

Congratulations to the Watsons, we wish this new family of six a future filled with love,

joy, and happiness!

Trump Hammers Putin, Assad, & Iran For Chemical Att*cks, Gives Brutal Warning. - Duration: 4:31.

Trump Hammers Putin, Assad, & Iran For Chemical Attacks, Gives Brutal Warning.

President Donald Trump just hammered Vladimir Putin, Bashar al Assad, and Iran for the recent

horrific chemical attacks in Syria with a brutal warning.

You won't want to miss this.

According to Fox News, Trump recently told the National Security Council that he would

like to see all U.S. troops withdrawn from Syria within six months, and just days later,

reports broke out that Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad had his military carry out horrific

chemical attacks on innocent civilians.

On Sunday, April 8, 2018, Trump lashed out on Twitter in response to the suspected chemical

attack in the Syrian city of Douma.

The President directly blamed Assad and blasted Russian President Vladimir Putin, in addition

to Iran, for supporting Assad.

Trump's brutal warning for Assad and his international allies was sent out on Twitter.

"Many dead, including women and children, in mindless CHEMICAL attack in Syria.

Area of atrocity is in lockdown and encircled by Syrian Army, making it completely inaccessible

to outside world.

President Putin, Russia and Iran are responsible for backing Animal Assad.

Big price to pay.

Open area immediately for medical help and verification.

Another humanitarian disaster for no reason whatsoever.

SICK!" Trump wrote in two consecutive tweets. In a brutal follow up to his warning, Trump blasted

former President Barack Obama for his colossal failure to deal with Assad when he had the

chance.

"If President Obama had crossed his stated Red Line In The Sand, the Syrian disaster

would have ended long ago!

Animal Assad would have been history!" Trump added.

Reports of the chemical attack began coming from Syrian opposition activists and rescuers

who claimed that a poison gas attack on the rebel-held town of Douma near the capital

of Damascus killed approximately 40 people.

The Syrian and Russian governments have completely denied the alleged attack, and the claims

that Syrian forces directly targeted civilians and young children could not be independently

confirmed.

Many Americans praised Trump for ordering missile strikes on a Syrian airbase almost

exactly a year earlier after the Assad regime used chemical weapons to murder innocent civilians

on April 4, 2017.Sarah Huckabee Sanders, the White House press secretary, recently spoke

about the chemical attack in 2017.

"The women, children, and men who died at the hands of the Assad regime on April 4,

2017, deserve justice and we will not rest until the regime is held accountable.

We expect all parties involved to live up to their promise in 2013 and to ensure that

the Assad regime stops its senseless use of chemical weapons against the Syrian people,"

Sanders said in a recent statement, according to Daily Caller.

After the recent chemical attacks, first responders claim they found families suffocated in their

homes and shelters, with foam on their mouths.

The Syrian Civil Defense, an organization linked to forces opposing the Assad regime,

claimed that 42 fatalities were confirmed so far but were kept from any further searching

due to difficulty breathing, according to Siraj Mahmoud, a spokesman for the group which

is known as the White Helmets.

President Donald Trump is not playing around with Assad and will be sending a strong message

very soon in retaliation for the chemical attacks on civilians.

While many don't see it necessary for America to "police" the rest of the world, the

immediate answer to the ongoing civil war in Syria cannot be to simply withdraw and

take no action at all.

That kind of thinking and idiotic foreign policy is what lead to the creation of ISIS

in the first place, and we have Barack Obama to thank for that mess.

There is a real crisis in Syria that we cannot ignore.

Both Russia and Iran would quickly take advantage of the situation beyond what they have so

far if President Trump decided not to respond as he's promised to.

So, let's hope Assad pays a "big price" for what he's done.

Abandoned Dog, Bleeding And Dying, Fights Death To Save Her Puppy! - Duration: 2:19.

Abandoned Dog, Bleeding And Dying, Fights Death To Save Her Puppy

A Rope Twisted around her leg, a plant vine is also twisted around her neck, both cutting

deeply into her skin, her body is bleeding, her leg is infected, she is in agonizing pain,

but she can't give up, not with those eyes looking up at her, filled with tears and the

look of fear, fear of the future.

She is all alone, no one is around, she can't reach help, and her chances of making it through

are very low, but she still won't give up, the pain might be strong, but something much

stronger was pushing her to fight and resist.

This something is her mother instincts, this poor dog had a puppy, a very young puppy,

one that had no one else in the world to take care of him but her, his eyes were filled

with tears, those were tears of fear, fear of losing the only warm body around, fear

of dying there and being lost forever.

Fate had another plan for them, as a good Samaritan found them, he tried to free the

mother; but she wouldn't let him near them, she was fiercely protective of her puppy and

was ready to lose her life protecting her; she didn't understand that he was trying

to help her.

Luckily the man was smart enough to know that this needed some experienced hands, and he

called the Wildlife Friends Federation Thailand.

They rushed to the scene and were able to take the mother and her pup to their shelter.

They freed the mother and rescued her life, the dogs were then given medications, food,

water, a warm place to sleep and the care they needed desperately.

However, as the number of Stray dogs and dogs in need of help in Thailand is huge, the shelter

cannot keep them, and they plan to release them back in the streets once they recover.

But not to worry, those dogs still have a chance of making it, as their story has taken

the Internet by storm, people are calling for the Soi Dog Foundation, a non profit organization

which is dedicated to the rescue of homeless and abused dogs, once they get them, we're

sure they will find a loving home where they can spend their lives together.

How to Make Chinese Takeout Orange Chicken | The Stay At Home Chef - Duration: 4:10.

Today on The Stay At Home Chef

I'm showing you how to make

Chinese Takeout Orange Chicken

Skip the takeout and make your own orange chicken at home!

It's really delicious!

To start you'll need 4 egg whites

Pour it into a bowl along with

2 tablespoons of cornstarch

We'll season it up with 1 teaspoon of salt

and 1/2 teaspoon of white pepper

And we'll whisk it all together

You can also use black pepper but I'm using

white pepper because it'll blend in with the mixture

Give it a good minute of whisking

until the mixture is nice and smooth like so

And you'll notice I have a lot of extra room in my bowl

That's because we're going to put our chicken

right into this bowl

You'll need 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts

You're going to cut each chicken breast

into little bite-size pieces that we're going to fry up

after we've dipped it in this batter

and you can place the pieces directly into the bowl

You can also use boneless skinless chicken thighs

but I find that they're a little bit too gristly

for my personal tastes when it comes to frying these up

to make orange chicken

Once the chicken is all cut up you'll want to

give it a stir so that everything gets coated

with the egg white mixture

Then we'll set this aside

It's almost time to head on over to the stove

but before we go over there

let's make a quick cornstarch slurry

that we'll use to thicken up our orange sauce

Pour 1 tablespoon of cornstarch into 1/4 cup of water

and give it a little stir with a fork

until it's combined

This is called a cornstarch slurry

and it's used to thicken sauces and soups

so it's a really useful tool to have in your

cooking basics toolbelt

Now let's head on over to the stove

Pour enough vegetable oil into a large pot

to cover the bottom with about two inches

and get it heating to 350 degrees

We're going to fry our little pieces of chicken in the hot oil

Just drop the chicken directly into the hot oil

And it doesn't matter if extra sauce gets in

that'll be okay

Sauce?

What am I thinking!

It doesn't matter if you get

extra batter in the hot oil either

Give it a good 3 to 4 minutes to fry

Once the chicken pieces are golden brown

use a slotted spoon to transfer them

to a paper towel lined plate to drain

Set your chicken aside and we're going to move to a skillet

where we're gonna make our quick orange sauce

Pour 1 cup of orange juice into a pan

and I'm using freshly squeezed but you can just use

from a jar as well

Then you'll also need

1/4 cup of rice vinegar

2 tablespoons of soy sauce

1/3 cup brown sugar

the zest from one orange

1 teaspoon of ground ginger

and 1/2 teaspoon of red pepper flakes

If you don't like spicy, feel free to leave out

the red pepper flakes and if you do like to bring the heat

feel free to double the red pepper flakes

And be sure to let me know in the comment section

what level of spicy you like

Next take a whisk

and whisk everything in

We're going to bring this to a simmer

Once it comes to a simmer we're going to take that

cornstarch slurry that we made earlier

Give it a quick stir to freshen things up and then

we'll pour it in with the sauce

and whisk it in until it's thickened

It'll only take about a minute for the sauce to thicken up

Turn off the heat and then we're going to take

our chicken pieces and scootch those

right into the sauce so that we can coat each piece

with this delicious orange sauce

You'll just give it a quick stir to combine

And that's it, you are ready to eat!

Serve this up hot, and if you want to add a little bit of color

garnish with some sliced green onions

Thanks for watching!

Gather and Glean Episode 8 - Summer Solutions - Duration: 10:00.

Intro Music

Hi all! Welcome to the eighth episode of Gather and Glean! Today we're going to be

talking about Summer Solutions. Now before you decide you want to take a

break this summer, I want you to be sure to

check out all of this episode. So let's jump right in by taking a look at a summer icebreaker game.

We're checking out the Summer Would You Rather Icebreaker Questions.

Now there are lots of ways that you can use these questions.

I actually share seven different ideas on how you may want to put them to use.

Everything from putting one question in everyone's seat, to placing the cards

I've created inside a sand pail or inside of a bag, to dividing in the room

in half and just having people stand on one side of the line or the other.

I'll let you read about the other ways you might want to use these questions.

If you scroll down you'll see this red link here and that's going to let you click

open the file that actually has the questions. So let's do that! The first page

goes back over seven different ways you might want to do that

and then I've got the list of questions followed by a set of cards that has

these very same questions on them. Just to give you a quick example, some of the

questions listed are: Would you rather have a jellyfish sting or a bee sting?

Would you rather stuff your face with homemade ice cream or s'mores?

Would you rather lather on the 15 SPF or the 50 SPF? There are a total of 20

summer-related "Would You Rather" questions. And you can

see the cards there that are all ready for you to print out and cut apart.

It's a very popular summer icebreaker game to play. It's very easy because it requires

very little setup or preparation and it's all there for you to print it out.

I hope you'll try it with your group! It's going to allow them to connect over shared

summer experiences and preferences. It's definitely gonna start some great conversations!

So we're going to tackle a reader Question & Answer next.

One of the questions I get quite a lot about this time of year is: Should we take a break for the summer?

And I know it's really tempting because chances are your

team is worn out at this point . I hate to be the bearer of bad news but I really

don't want you to take a summer break. My answer, my recommendation, would have to be "no".

And I want to tell you why. I don't want you to take a summer break

for several reasons. Most importantly it's because women always need Jesus.

If you take a break that means months go by without the opportunity to share Jesus

with the women who are not only in your church, but the women who are visiting

your church. You're removing the opportunity for your women to invite

their friends to come to events over the summer. You'll likely have a group of

moms that are at home all day with kids who are now out of school for the summer

and they'll cherish and appreciate a break from the kids to get out at night.

Or maybe even would appreciate a daytime Bible study that has childcare so that

they have an opportunity to be fed and spend time in God's Word. Another reason I

don't want you to take a summer break is because it gives you a great opportunity.

You've got the opportunity to be creative. You have the opportunity to try

some women's ministry events that just don't fit as well in other parts of the year.

For example, a lot of groups have an ice cream social. In the warm weather

it's a whole lot more fun to dig into a bowl of ice cream than it is if it's

cold in your area in December. And another great reason not to take a summer

break is you have fewer competing church activities. You might be surprised when

you take a look at your church calendar at how few things are actually scheduled

for the summer. Perhaps your church usually has Sunday

night or Wednesday night activities during the school year,

but they don't during the summer. That opens up the opportunity for you to

host events on those nights where women are already used to coming anyway.

I wasn't a believer until I actually participated in a summer Bible study.

What I found when we had those summer Bible studies was attendance actually increased!

I know! Can you believe it? I would have thought we would have had

smaller groups. We actually had more women in attendance than we did during

the fall or the spring. And part of that was due to the teachers who were

teaching during the school year - who were now available and had the summers off

and couldn't wait to get into God's Word with other women because it was just too

much for their schedules other parts of the year. If Bible studies and getting the

facilitators and the week after week commitment is too much for you, here's a

suggestion I've got for you. The church that we're attending, they have a book

club for the summer. They choose three different books and I believe it's

June, July, and August that we meet. They have one meeting that you come and you

get to discuss the book with the group of women who read it. Book clubs during

the summer are great way to offer something a little bit different for

your women. It might bring in those that might shy away from a more serious Bible Study.

So we're gonna talk about recommendations. My recommendation to

you is actually a list of things this time around. On my site you will find a

post titled Summer Reads. Now admittedly, I did write this last spring but it's

still a great list and one that I recommend. So as you scroll down you'll

see I listed my top four all-time favorite Christian books: The Warrior, The

Swan House, The Prayer Box, and Redeeming Love. Just excellent, really solid, good

thoughtful Christian fiction books. I also list some of my favorite authors

that you might want to check out if you're looking for some summer reads.

And then I delve into a couple of nonfiction recommendations: Women of the Word by Jen Wilkin

and Word-filled Women's Ministry by Gloria Thurman - if you want to do some more serious reading.

And scrolling on down,

I can tell you I did manage to read almost every book on this list. I admit I

did not finish Mentor for Life. I've got a couple chapters left of Present Over Perfect,

I think, and I started, but haven't gotten back to, Adorned yet.

My "Hope-to-Get-To" Book List - I did not even get started. I had high hopes and maybe I'll

tackle them this summer. If you are looking for some good summer reading

material or even recommendations for what to read if you're going to choose to

do a summer book club those are there for you.

So let's wrap things up with some Show &Tell! I'm excited about today's Show &Tell.

It's an idea that I have been holding on to for a while and it's the perfect day to share it with you!

A friend of mine that lives in Michigan shared this Facebook post

and I got her permission to share it. She called it Floats on the Pond because she

lives near a pond - alright you can see the pond in the background there. But it

was just a quick pop-up event. It wasn't anything that they spent months planning

or that was really elaborate - it was super fun and simple.

She asked everybody to bring a lawn chair and a friend, and if they wanted, a

snack to share. She just wanted to hang out. And I love this - she says she wants

to hear about what God is doing in your lives this summer. So there's still that

Gospel focus. She tells you how to sign up, she tells you when and where it is,

and asks you to RSVP so she knows how much root beer she needs to purchase.

So root beer floats - what a perfect summer idea is that?!

Here's my challenge to you! First of all please, please don't take a break this summer.

Women need Jesus and they need you to schedule some events and activities that

are going to allow them to connect with other believers and to hear about the

Gospel message. Secondly, do something unique and

different. Embrace the opportunity summer gives you to make things not so formal

and stuffy and to loosen up your schedule a little bit. Host a book club -

that requires very little time commitment and very little setup on your part.

Do something fun like Floats on the Pond. Summer gives us so many great opportunities!

I pray that we'll be quick to embrace them and that we won't miss out

on the great things God has planned for us!

Thank you so much for tuning in. As always I'll post the links below so that you can

take a closer look at the articles and icebreaker game that I mentioned.

If you've got questions or if you've got ideas to share, please reach out to me.

You can find me on Facebook. This is the website link and here is my email address.

Have a great great summer!

Are You Worried About Your Brain Health? Discover 6 Bad Habits That Can Affect It

Regardless of being conscious of the importance of cerebral health, many ignore that certain habits can increase its deterioration and cause several disorders.

Although cognitive illnesses are related to factors such as genetics and age, some daily practices can also have an influence on their occurrence.

The problem is that many do not know how to properly take care of this organ and, despite recommendations, continue with certain practices that increase its aging.

As a consequence, this causes damage to the neurons and cerebral tissues.

This affects its abilities and interferes with essential brain functions that are necessary to have a good quality of life.

1.Eating an excessive amount of sugar

The excess consumption of refined sugar is related to the development of metabolic and cerebral illnesses.

This ingredient, present in many foods in our diets, reduces the production of chemical substances in the brain and, with time, affects its functions.

Daily ingestion of refined sugar is one of the causes of anxiety, depression, and dementia.

Recommendations

Choose natural sweeteners like honey, coconut sugar or Stevia Check food labels and opt for alternatives that are lower in sugar.

2. Skipping breakfast

Daily consumption of a healthy breakfast is one of the most important habits for maintaining a strong, healthy, and young brain.

This meal, which is one of the most important of the day, provides the body with a high amount of essential nutrients that allow you to stay active throughout the day.

Skipping it or replacing it with unhealthy options can increase the risk of suffering from health issues relating to metabolism, memory, emotional stability.

Also, given that energy levels are affected, neuron activity is decreased and concentration becomes more difficult.

Recommendations

Plan your weekly breakfast and ensure that they include sources of:.

Vitamins, Minerals, Dietetic Fiber, Protein, Omega 3 fatty acids, Antioxidants.

3. Smoking

Smokers are exposed to many toxins that, over time, affect the tissues of many different organs.

These toxic substances accelerate the brains aging process and, in addition to increasing the risk of cancer, interfere with cognitive functions.

These consequences also affect former smokers who can develop diseases such as dementia and Alzheimers.

Recommendations

Stop smoking as soon as possible and adopt healthy habits to control anxiety Eliminate your exposure to cigarette smoke.

4. Not drinking enough water

Insufficient consumption of water is one of the factors that influences the premature deterioration of brain tissue.

Dehydration decreases energy levels, affects your mood, and makes it hard to concentrate.

This is because the brain is composed largely of water which means that a decrease will interrupt its functions.

Lack of liquid also affects circulatory health and, consequently, interferes with the oxygenation process in brain cells.

Suggestions

Consume between 6 and 8 glasses of water a day, Increase your consumption of fruits and vegetables that are rich in water, Opt for teas, juices, and other natural drinks.

5. Sleeping poorly

Having poor sleep quality decreases physical and mental productivity as well as affecting your emotional health.

Since the organ cannot rest for a sufficient amount of time, the functions of the frontal lobe are reduced and affects creative thinking.

At the same time, the segregation of stress hormones is increased which decreases ones ability to resolve daily problems.

Suggestions

Sleep in a quiet environment for at least 8 hours.

Eliminate the use of electronic devices before going to bed.

Eat a light dinner, 2 or 3 hours before going to bed.

6. Exposure to contaminated environments

To perform all of its functions without obstacles, the brain needs a continuous supply of oxygen to allow for the maintenance of energy levels.

However, because of contaminated environments, the exchange of gases and the transport of oxygen can have difficulties getting to the cells.

This decreases the efficiency of cognitive work which increases the risk of suffering illnesses such as dementia.

Suggestions

Eliminate exposure to contaminated environments, and in case of exposure, take preventative measures.

Try to go to greener areas where you can breathe in the fresh air.

As you can see, even though some habits seem to be harmless, in reality, they can carry various consequences for your cerebral health.

Try to eliminate these habits to the best of your ability and follow our recommendations.
