and my final thoughts and opinion, so stay tuned, I'll be back in a moment.

Welcome back, and let's start with the unboxing.
The Sunvell T95R Pro, comes in this black box with some basic specifications on the
front an back.
So I will just unpack the contents of this package an put the specs up on the screen.
The Sunvell T95R Pro, runs on the Amlogic S912 octa core cortex A53 CPU, running up
to 1.5 GHz.
The GPU, is the Mali T820 tri core GPU, running up to 750 Mhz.
It comes with 3GB of DDR3 RAM, and 32GB of internal storage.
It comes with 802.11 dual band 2.4 + 5.8 GHz WiFi, and Bluetooth 4.0.
It runs on Android 7.1 Nougat, on a 64bit system.
In the box, you have the T95R Pro unit itself.
You get this infrared remote, the remote looks nice, and it will control the basic functions
of the box, but for more advanced functions and navigation, a Bluetooth air mouse or a
mini touchpad keyboard would be a better option.
Also inside the box you get 1 HDMI cable.
A 5 volts 2 amps power adapter.
And your users guide.
Let's have a look at the box.
The box is made of a nice strong plastic, with the T95R pro branding at the top.
To the back, you have 1 HDMI port, one USB 2.0 port, you have 1 RJ45 Ethernet LAN port,
1 audio video port, one optical audio port, and your DC power input.
To the left, you have another USB 2.0 port, and an SD card slot.
There's nothing to the other side.
To the front, you have a multi color LED power light.
And to the bottom, you have some ventilation holes.
It's now time to connect this box to my TV, and start the second segment of this review.
So I'm all set and ready to go.
And as I startup the box it shows the Amlogic S912 octa core logo, then the M box startup
animation, and then you are taken to this launcher.
The launcher is nice and simply laid out, and has the same design used in previous Sunvellbocses.
As you can see below here at the bottom of the launcher you have a navigation bar for
easy navigation.
This navigation bar doesn't apply much to the stock remote, but comes in really handy
when using a regular mouse or Bluetooth air mouse or mini touchpad keyboard.
The bar comes with your regular volume controls, home and back buttons, a multitasking cascade
button, a screen capture button, and a hide button.
Like in most of the previous Sunvellbocses, once you hide the navigation bar you cannot
retrieve it, you have to restart the box to get it back!
Adding shortcuts to the launcher is simple, simply click on this add button, An select
any shortcut you would like to add to the launcher.
Let's take a look at the apps section.
In this section you have a list of all the apps that comes installed on the box.
You have your core system apps, along with a couple movie streaming apps like Netflix
and KD player, which is a Kodi 17 build.
You have an LED power light control application, that allows you to choose the color and behaviour
of the power light.
The box doesn't come with all the apps needed to complete my review, so I will pause this
video for a second to install these apps, and when I return we'll continue.
So I'm back, and as I continue with this benchmarking segment of my review, let's check to see if
the box is rooted.
It shows that the box is rooted, running on Android 7.1.1 Nougat operating system.
I am always pleased to see when a box comes rooted, because it gives me the freedom to
download any app from the Google play store without restrictions, it also allows me to
side load APK files using the appinstaller that comes with the box, and it allows me
to play games with my favorite key mapping application.
Sunvell technical team has always maintained this style of hassle free pro gramming, and
I will love to see more TV boxes being launched especially in the Rockchip line of TV box
hardware, where other programmers have failed to meet this criteria.
So I give Sunvell lots of credit for maintaining this important feature.
Let's see if there are any wireless updates for this box.
It shows that the box is currently up to date, and there are no updates at this time.
However, we have seen in recent boxes firmware updates being managed by third party developers,
and they are being released on blogging sites with the use of flash tools an image files.
So it has been quite some time since last I have seen a wireless update work.
Let's take a look at the DRM information, or digital rights management.
This shows which of the supported services the TV box uses to stream mainstream movies
from services like Netflix and Sling TV, which allows devices to stream their content in
HD and 4K quality.
It shows that the T95R pro doesn't have support for three of the prime time supported services,
which means that premium paid services like Netflix will show but not in 4K quality.
However, this does not affect streaming movies in 4K and HD quality from APK services, and
from open streams like YouTube and Kodi.
Let's Take a look at some system and hardware information.
Under system, it shows that the manufacturer is Amlogic, and the model is the M box.
Below it shows that the box comes with 3GB of RAM, and from the product page description
we already know that it's DDR3 memory.
Below that it shows the remaining RAM and internal storage from the total 32GB after
the Android installation.
Under CPU information, it shows that the CPU is a 64bit octa core Cortex A53 CPU.
Running up to 1.5 GHz.
It also shows that the box has support for both 32 and 64bit ABIs, which means that the
box can play both 32 and 64bit applications.
Under display information, it shows that the box's display is powered by the Mali T820
tri core GPU, with a refresh rate of 60 hz.
Under network information, it shows that the box has dual band WiFi support, along with
signal strength link speed and frequency information.
Under Android information, it shows that the operating system is Android 7.1.1 Nougat,
and it also shows that the box is rooted.
Under thermal information, the box hangs around 60°C on normal cooling, and around 50° on
passive cooling.
Under codecs information, you have the usual list of codecs needed for 4K video playback.
From this list, we have codecs like H.264, HEVC, and VP9 decoders.
There's Know H.265 featured in this list.
And that's it for system and hardware information, and let's now look at the results from the
bench marks.
I'll now show the results from the memory read an write speeds.
And It shows that the box has a RAM copy speed of 3 thousand six hundred an 25 MB/s, the
internal memory, has a read speed of a hundred an 2 MB/s, and a write speed of 75.
The SD card slot got a read speed of 23 MB/s, and a read speed of 13.
The RAM an internal storage got some high scores, and it shows the kind of optimization
used by Sunvell in their TV boxes.
We now have the results from the WiFi speed test.
The results show that on the 2.4 and 5.8 GHz WiFi bands, we had good download and upload
speeds.
We now have the results from the Antutu benchmark.
And the results show that the T95R Pro got an Antutu score of 42546.
Next, we have the results of the Geekbench 4 CPU benchmark.
After all tests were complete, the box got a score of five hundred an one single core,
and two thousand four hundred and 33 multi core.
And finally, we have the results from the Ice storm extreme GPU benchmark.
In the end, the box's GPU got a score of five thousand five hundred and 46.
And that's it for the benchmarks.
I now focus my attention on the streaming and video playback of the box.
Earlier I mentioned that the KD player is indeed a Kodi 17 build, and if we open that
and go to settings and then to system information, here it shows that the version of Kodi is
17.3.
The player doesn't come with any third party addons, an everyone in the online streaming
community should know by now why this is so.
However, if you so desire to install some third party addons to stream free movies and
TV shows, there are lots of easy step by step tutorials on YouTube showing you how to do
just that.
So for demonstration purposes I installed some third party addons of my own, I tested
them and they stream movies and TV shows in HD quality without any problems on my internet
package.
If you're not into Kodi an installing third party addons, you can take the easier route
and install movie streaming APKs from numerous sources, without the hassle of setting up
source URLs an installing from repositories.
Simply install one of the top APKs and you're ready to start streaming with no further configurations
needed.
A list of the top streaming APKs can be found in the link in the description area below
this video.
A TV box like the T95R Pro is not only about streaming, if you have a collection of movies
stored on external storage, you can watch them using the USB port and using either the
video player that comes with the box, or you can use Kodi media player, or you can install
a video player from the Google Play Store like the MX player or the VLC player.
For the best video playback from external devices, I advised that you purchase an external
hard drive or flash drive with high data transfer speeds, as this affects the read speed between
the device and the player, resulting in buffering and poor viewing experience.
However, I discovered that downloading the videos onto the internal storage of the box
results in flawless playback of HD and 4K videos.
So I went ahead and loaded my 4K video samples onto the bocses internal storage, and let's
watch as I play them using the box's stock video player.
As you have seen, the box was able to play all of my 4K video samples, even the whole
collection of jellyfish videos ranging up to 400 Mbps in MKV format.
Everybody loves and uses YouTube.
So to get the best YouTube experience, download the editors choice YouTube application from
the Google Play store, over writing the exsisting version that comes installed on the box.
So let's play a 4K video sample to see what's the highest resolution I can get on this box.
Keep in mind, that my TV is a 1080p television, so I may not be able to get up to 4K quality.
The YouTube application plays in HD quality on this box, but I wasn't able to get 4K quality
maybe due to the limitations of my TVs resolution.
Like to play those addictive games on your phone, then why not on your big screen.
Connect a regular mouse or an air mouse or mini touchpad keyboard, and from the comfort
of your living room or personal space, enjoy all the popular games like candy crush like
never before, in HD with digital sounds.
Take it to the next level, and connect a Bluetooth gamepad or a normal USB wired gamepad, an
enjoy more advanced games like Asphalt extreme racing, and iron blade.
So in summary, the Sunvell T95R Pro is one of the better Android 7.1 TV boxes I've reviewed.
I like how it comes rooted out of the box, it comes with a navigation bar at the bottom,
it comes with 3GB of DDR3 RAM, an 32GB of internal Storage.
I like the new concept for the power LED light, an the box doesn't overheat or freeze up on
you.
You can watch unlimited free movies and TV shows with APK services, and via the KD player.
It plays 4K videos without any problems, and games ran smooth an the 3D graphics was of
a high quality.
The only issue I had with this box was that if you hide the navigation bar, you cannot
retrieve it by swiping in an upwards motion, you have to restart the box to retrieve it!
So I'm giving the T95R Pro, the green light for performance and stability, along with
the latest operating system and root accessibility.
So if you would like to get your hands on this great TV box, see the link provided in
the description area.
Thanks for watching, and don't forget to check out the promotion currently running on Gear
