Everyone can relax, it's a manual! New Renault Clio R.S. 16 concept unveiled

Renaultsport is celebrating its 40th anniversary in style by cramming the powertrain from a Megane RS 275 Trophy-R into an RS Clio.

Yes, you read that right – the Megane's 271bhp 20-litre turbocharged engine and six-speed manual gearbox have been jimmied under the Clio's bonnet. Sounds like it could be a complete handful!.

Fortunately, the ever-talented Renaultsport has done more than just shoehorn in a delightfully inappropriate powerplant into the small hatchback. For starters, upgrades include race-bred chassis modifications, suspension tweaks and 19-inch wheels.

S 16's adjustable dampers are lifted straight from the Trophy-R, while floating 350mm-diameter front discs and an upgraded braking system derived from the Megane's Nurburgring pack serve up suitable stopping power.

Renault's raided countless other parts bin for this project, too. The engine, transmission and cooling system are all lifted from the Trophy-R, while the suspension is assembled from adapted parts lifted from the Megane, Kangoo and Espace. .

Akrapovic stepped up once again to supply a suitable exhaust system, while the engineers worked to ensure the car's ABS and stability systems functioned as expected.

'The premise was to design an exclusively Renaultsport vehicle, fitted with the most powerful engine in the range, explained Laurent Dore, manager of the prototype department. 'The aim was perfectly clear, but the first difficulty concerned the lead-times, which were extremely tight.

'We created a team made up of experts from Renaultsport Cars and Renaultsport Racing. This little 'commando' unit was managed by Maurizio Suppa, an engineer specialising in prototype design.'.

Looks pretty aggressive, too. That's in part thanks to the Clio's bodywork being some 60mm wider. Renault had to fit composite flares, in order to clear the taller 19-in wheel and tyre combo.

Other cosmetic and aerodynamic tweaks include the fitment of a rear diffuser from the Clio Cup, a rear spoiler to boost downforce and a redesigned front splitter to improve cooling.

Completing the high-performance look are bucket seats and six-point safety belt. Renault's also ditched the air-con and rear bench, cutting weight in an effort to improve the car's handling and performance. No official word on the amount of weight shed, though.

Is it still front-wheel drive?. Oh yes – so 266lb ft will be surging with vigour through those front tyres. Given how well the regular RS Clio 200 Turbo and more powerful Meganes deal with their torque, however, we can't imagine the R.S.

16 will be too unwieldy at full throttle. How fast is it?. Renault hasn't published any performance figures for the new concept but, given that we know how quick the Trophy-R is, you can expect it to perform as follows:. sub-5.

Will I be able to see it at any point?. 16 was revealed ahead of the Monaco Grand Prix, but it'll be on display in the UK at the Goodwood Festival of Speed from 23-26 June.

More importantly, are they going to build it? . It's likely that the car will remain a concept for now, given its niche appeal.

That said, a lot of parts used in the concept are already available and Renault has history with low-volume, high-performance editions – like the Trophy-R and Clio V6.

'We all recalled the impact made by Clio V6,' said RS managing director Patrice Ratti. 'We wanted to create a technical concept car with extraordinary performance levels but which was more realistically priced.

'Therefore, we had to keep our feet on the ground and use simple, ingenious solutions to achieve a vehicle that could be type-approved.

What you don't know about LEARNING ENGLISH (A2) - Duration: 11:23.

hello everyone I'm marc I'm an English teacher and coach from Toronto in Canada

but I live in Rome since I began teaching English in 1996 students have

often asked me the same question how can I learn English faster and more

efficiently ? the answer to this question has been rolling around in my head for

some time now I'll give you advice on what not to do

when learning English first so first off don't translate word by word from your

own language try to figure out the meaning by reading through the sentence and then

try to understand it from the context if you don't know how to say a certain word

in English trying to explain it by using the language and the vocabulary you

already know so this might seem difficult but it works

second don't give up on your studies be constant never stop learning

research shows that if you give up on your studies you'll relegate your

english to the back of your mind it's like going to the gym for a year and

then taking a year off when you return all your muscles will hurt

that's because you didn't work out for a year so never give up now number three

don't be shy when you speak English by gaining confidence in the language

you'll become better at it if you are confident you won't think about your

grammar mistakes when you speak to people in English they understand you

are learning the language so don't worry nobody expects impeccable English from

you so how about those points are you actually using them well I hope so

now let's talk about what you should do with learning English try to immerse

yourself in the language what do I mean by immerse well let me

tell you about my own experience with Italian I moved to Italy in 1997 for the

first two months I had 360 degree contact with the language and I spoke

Italian with some mistakes my friends were Italians the environment

was Italian the air that I breathed was Italian

the whole context was Italian well I learned Italian in two months I was able

to have a real conversation with someone even making some mistakes now and then

obviously I don't expect you to move to the USA or to Canada or to the UK or

even to Australia however you can recreate your

English learning environment but how these are the most important things how

for your listening comprehension I suggest watching TV in English by

renting or buying movies or even by using the Internet

you can find tons a myriad of movies with English subtitles complete series

or TV programmes even on YouTube you just need to google English movies and

then for example you can type Casablanca ok series like the mist friends Sex and

the City or TV programs like 2020 or Dateline there is a myriad of links to

shows programs or movies in English I would also recommend English podcasts

they are easy to get you just need to subscribe to the ones you are most

interested in and again there tons of English podcast for example English

vocabulary podcast or English grammar podcast or English pronunciation podcast

or English speaking podcast I think yes etc there tons of podcasts when

listening you don't need to pay particular attention to what you're

hearing your mind will subconsciously retain the English you hear getting used

to the sound of English will definitely help you improve your comprehension

and understanding obviously this is particularly true if you live in

a context where every American or British movie is dubbed just like here in

Italy in order to learn new vocabulary I suggest reading a book you've always

wanted to read in your own language for example a book that you'll enjoy when

you learn a language it is extremely important you enjoy what you're doing

when reading it isn't important to look up all the words you don't know it is

however important to try and understand new words by context when an author

writes a sophisticated word they usually explain it in the successive sentences

likewise when an author uses this kind of word once you'll often find it

repeated several times throughout the rest of the book in this way by the time

you've got to the end of the book you'll have found it several times in context

and you will have differently learned what it means I've seen students

translating every single word they didn't understand for long-term retention

this has been proved to be ineffective after a few weeks of not actively using

or reencountering the words they so meticously looked up in the dictionary

they simply forget them in order to use what you've already learned I suggest

going to venues where foreigners usually hang out try and meet new people they

don't have to be native English speakers they could be from anywhere but your own

country tell them you're learning English and

you'd like to practice what you've learned talk about the weather

the city their or your life in general the news anything you think will be

appropriate for that occasion meet new friends online there are hundreds of

chat rooms for English students even on Facebook there are millions of English

speaking groups by now you know you can either text or speak live with anyone on

the Internet I suggest you always mention you're

learning English and you want to practice there are many people who are

learning English and wish to use what they've learned traveling visit a

place outside your country anywhere you go you'll find people who speak English

by traveling you can practise the English you've learned firsthand try to

put yourself in situations where you have to speak English in order to

communicate in this way you're forced to use what you've learned I strongly

suggest traveling alone so that you don't speak your own language and thus

you speak only English if you live in a country where English isn't the first

language I strongly suggest attending English lessons make it a habit

don't stop attending this will definitely increase your level of

English and will maintain what you've learned so far well I hope you've found my

advice helpful if you'd like to make a comment or to post a question just do so

under this video don't forget to subscribe to my channel if you haven't

and please share the video with your friends they might even thank you for

thinking about them thank you very much for watching and have a great day. See you next time, bye bye

What you don't know about LEARNING ENGLISH (C1) - Duration: 8:25.

hello everyone how are you today is Marc I'm an English teacher and coach from

Toronto Canada and I live in Rome since I began teaching English in 1996

students have often asked me the same question how can I learn English faster

and more efficiently the answer to that question has been rolling around in my

head for some time now I'll give you advice

on what not to do when learning English first off don't translate word by word

from your own language try to figure out the meaning by reading through the

sentence and then try to understand it from the context if you don't know

how to say a certain word in English try to explain it by using the vocabulary

when you speak to people in English they understand you're learning the language

so don't worry nobody expects impeccable English from you so how about those

now let's talk about what you should do when learning English first try to

immerse yourself in the language what do I mean by immerse

well let me tell you about my own experience with Italian I moved to Italy

in 1997 for the first two months I had 360 degree contact with the language and

when learning English first so first off don't translate word by word from your

own language try to figure out the meaning by reading through the sentence and then

try to understand it from the context if you don't know how to say a certain word

in English trying to explain it by using the language and the vocabulary you

already know so this might seem difficult but it works

second don't give up on your studies be constant never stop learning

research shows that if you give up on your studies you'll relegate your

english to the back of your mind it's like going to the gym for a year and

then taking a year off when you return all your muscles will hurt

that's because you didn't work out for a year so never give up now number three

don't be shy when you speak English by gaining confidence in the language

you'll become better at it if you are confident you won't think about your

grammar mistakes when you speak to people in English they understand you

are learning the language so don't worry nobody expects impeccable English from

you so how about those points are you actually using them well I hope so

now let's talk about what you should do with learning English try to immerse

yourself in the language what do I mean by immerse well let me

tell you about my own experience with Italian I moved to Italy in 1997 for the

first two months I had 360 degree contact with the language and I spoke

"Badass Boss Bootcamp" - FREE Women's Series with Meghan Neeley - Duration: 8:21.

Welcome to feminine success secrets the place women come to become powerfully

feminine I'm Candice Oneida and today I am doing an interview with Meghan Neeley who

is the host of an upcoming online summit called the badass boss boot camp is a

great name a lot of alliteration in there and I'm obviously I'm going to be

interviewed as one of the interviewees on this summit but I really wanted to

bring her on to talk about it because she's right in the middle of it and have

some very very cool and interesting stuff the pass to you welcome Meghan

Thank You Candice I'm so happy to be here with your community beautiful

so Megan Neeley mentors women entrepreneurs who know they're meant to

be wealthy to become their own badass boss and I have to say it an American

right because in Australia is a badass boss another sounds quite right right Oh

ad ever she told them how to grow their impact

and income on their turns whilst living a luxurious life that doesn't man half

bad hmm so Megan do you want to tell people a bit about the boot camp and

what to expect when they sign up yeah absolutely

so the badass boss boot camp is a way that I've created for women to gather

from all over the world and learn from some of the leading experts on all the

pieces of business that I really see are important if it's your first year to 2

years of being in business so if you're thinking about starting a business or

you've already started one or your charge transition your hobby into

something that makes you money this is a really good time to be in boot camp

we're going to take you through a 10 step checklist to be your own badass

boss so you know exactly what to focus on first second and so on and Candice is

one of those amazing days where she's going to be talking about growing

community through her YouTube channel and and how you could do the same

yeah I'm really excited to just be able to gather all these incredible features

together who are amazing resources all on their own but I really believe that

we're so much stronger together and so in particular

uniting forces and sharing our message where everyone has their own specialties

and the delicious ingredients that they bring and it just gets amplified when we

come together beautiful and so I'm guessing and correct me if I'm wrong

that the the women who are watching this who would most benefit from this are

sort of coaches or mentors or therapists or anybody with a sense of mission or

purpose or they're trying to build a community either on or offline

that'd be correct yeah so anyone that has a really purpose based business or

wants to so definitely that definitely lots of coaches and speakers and

therapists yoga teachers you know I even thinking of my clients I have lots of

body workers and okay you know it could be a dance instructor but you want to

actually start to transition from all the work that you've been doing and

impact people in a bigger way okay beautiful and so this summit this is get

the dates down so when does the summit stop how long does it run for what would

it what would it look like for them when they sign up to the summit for the

entire camp I should say yeah so the badass boss boot camp runs from

September 5th to the 15th and what that means is from our very first day we

start with going into the first step of what it looks like when you're either

contemplating becoming your own badass boss or you already are one and on day

one we have Danielle Laporte speaking about the desire map and how to set

goals from a place of being in tune with your desire and being in tune with is

soulfulness which I know is totally aligned with your here at messaging

canvas and so we start from this really foundational place and we want you to

miss out on any of it because every day we're going to be progressing forward if

you are seeing this more part way through you will be able to have access

to those previous days we'll make sure that you don't miss out on

anything but we will also have a Facebook group community where we'll be

providing additional support during those 10 days we want to join somewhere

between the fifth and the fifteenth of September okay beautiful and just to say

the old ways it's free it's totally free if you say oh really yeah okay hold

early free so it's totally free and they're going to get information from

how many speakers now we have 20 speakers 25 new room when are they going

to be providing sort of information about you know an aspect a core aspect

of what their gene persone is and then they're also going to be you're going to

be offering people gifts and freebies and let's talk a little bit about that

sure so every speaker you know everyone that

I'm interviewing we're getting into a little bit of what was it like for them

what's their personal story because often it can look really shiny and easy

effortless on the outside and of course and nobody I've ever interviewed has

gotten there that way I'm still waiting to find someone but it's always been a

real journey and definitely with some struggles and challenges and so we're

getting really zeal and vulnerable about what that looks like and how you can

work through some of those same things they're coming up for you but then also

each speaker is going to be adding in a training piece that's in their area of

expertise so that you can start taking action for your business growth right

there as you're listening to them in a beautiful beautiful wah and you know

have a gift so every speaker has a free gift that they're going to give you that

will help you take it a step further ah perfect

everybody loves the free gifts and they're going to be a way to sort of

engage some of those speakers a bit more deeply too so I think with any of these

summits are online things like this the kitchen opportunity to have a little bit

of a bite-sized taste of somebody's work see if it resonates with you and if it

does then turn up for their give engage them a little bit more deeply get to

know them more deeply I know a lot of sure a lot of the people that Meaghan

speaking to a really very generous and what they want to offer you and for your

Champlin we're going to put the link below so what will you do is you go to

the description box below you click on that it will go to Meghan's badass boss

boot camp pay you sign on up and then you're thought

to get emails from Megan telling you who's coming up

who's speaking you get emails will come through and make sure when they come

through that you click on them and then you check out who's going to be speaking

on the day and so it runs for 10 days is there an opportunity to actually get the

information after that or is it closing down after the 10 days I will be leaving

it up through the end of September so that you do have access and obviously

will be the most interactive during those 10 days is you really want to have

a container where you can pick action but I find that so often it can feel

like a lot of pressure to kind of like go get this all done and I don't want to

create another way for you to feel pressure and well triage me on getting

more overwhelmed so instead I would say yes it's great to have a container in

structure and also some feminine spaciousness so end of the month

it's executive okay well then beautiful so jump on down in the description box

click on the link sign on up and we will both see you there there before Megan

thanks so much for sharing your time today very very grateful to have you on

the channel Thank You Candice this is a delight to be here beautiful and remember

when you have the courage to go out there and shine you give others

permission to do the same so let's all go out there and shine this week bye bye for now.

Dogs Bark Furiously At Bush In Backyard-When G'Ma Sees Why, She Grabs The Kids And Runs

Slayer, a Pitbull of the Butt family, and his best friend Paco were playing outside

when they noticed something shady in the grass.

At first, they thought nothing of it.

But when they realized what the shadow truly was, they went into full protection mode and

the lives of their family hung in the balance as this creature emerged and sized up the

family.

In the grass was a large venomous snake who was eyeing up the grand children of the Butt

family.

When the dogs started to bark and alert the family that something was not right, the grandmother

quickly sent the kids inside so that they would be safe.

When she returned to corral the dogs, her worst nightmare had happened.

Both canines had been bitten.

And it was only a matter of time before the venom took its toll.

The snake was later identified as a copperhead, which is a very venomous and potent snake

that is known to have a very bad temper when it comes to being messed with.

The two dogs were watching over the snake, making sure that it would not harm any of

the family members when the copper head attacked.

It lunged at the two dogs and bit them multiple times, injecting them with deadly venom.

Slayer then stepped up, grabbed the dangerous snake by its neck and shook it until it was

dead and unable to cause any more harm.

After Slayer had killed the snake, they both began having a reaction to the venom.

Melissa Butt rushed both dogs to the vet, but as Slayer's face was swelling dangerously

and his breathing became labored, they were referred to the BluePearl emergency vet in

Brandon, Florida, about 40 minutes away.

Melissa continued to push the speed limit and tried her best to get there as soon as

she could to save the hero that had protected the children of the family.

Each of the dogs were given antivenom as quickly as it could be received by the vet station.

After giving the dogs heavy doses of anti-venom.

They sat and waited t see how the pups would react.

Paco was released nearly a day afterward because he reacted very well to the antivenom.

Slayer, on the other hand, is having a large problem with swelling and is still not back

to normal after defending his family from the dangerous snake.

Every day is a new day, and he plans to take it with a grain of salt and try his best to

move forward from the horrid attack.

But each day, he slowly progresses.

Without amazing pets like this, there could be so many more bad things that could happen

to our children.

Thankfully, these amazing and loyal dogs stepped up and made sure that everyone has made it

home safe and alive.

If you think that both of these dogs, who put their body in between the grandchildren

and the dangerous snake deserve to be talked about and appreciated, SHARE this post.

Floyd Mayweather v Conor McGregor: Wednesday diary from Las Vegas ahead of $1bn clash - Duration: 2:28.

Floyd Mayweather v Conor McGregor: Wednesday diary from Las Vegas ahead of $1bn clash

WEDNESDAY Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor have already shocked everyone here in Las Vegas – by avoiding any nasty trash talking in their final press conference.

The scene was calm and after the chaos of the worldwide media tour those in attendance were left surprised by the subdued nature of the event.

It was only media allowed in which meant there wasn't the boisterous atmosphere in the crowd or frenzied fans roaring them on to trade insults.

Mayweather was respectful as he talked up McGregor's skills at the huge KA Theatre in the MGM Grand hotel just yards from where a large chunk of his 49 fights were held.

McGregor was 45 minutes late but showed up looking like he was ready for a night on the town.

The odds may be stacked against him but he is supremely confident of causing what would be one of the biggest shocks in sports history.

At one point one of Mayweather's entourage heckled McGregor which prompted a wag of the finger from the American. Mayweather then went over to his team member afterwards and appeared to tell him off for the outburst.

After all the verbal sparring in the build-up to this, both men seemed happy enough to hold off on the abuse. Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor kept their emotions in check at the final press conference.

Related Articles   Conor McGregor to Floyd Mayweather: You will pay for trash talking my sport   Floyd Mayweather v Conor McGregor: American boxer insists fight will not go the distance   Mayweather McGregor undercard: Badou Jack aims for British hat-trick v Nathan Cleverly.

It may not help add to the pay-per-view numbers but it certainly will avoid more criticism of the event for now.

Mayweather is usually quite calm on the week of the fight with Manchester's Ricky Hatton the last man to really rile him as the fight drew close. Whether McGregor will try some final mind games at Friday's weigh-in remains to be seen.

But with the T-Mobile Arena sold out – tickets were free – to watch both men step on the scales then the atmosphere may lead to a more charged event.

Dad captures spooky footage of 'RAF pilot ghost' haunting abandoned corridor. - Duration: 3:50.

Dad captures spooky footage of 'RAF pilot ghost' haunting abandoned corridor in deserted air force base

A dad-turned-ghosthunter has revealed spooky footage of the ghost of an RAF pilot haunting a corridor in an abandoned air force base.

Steve Wesson, 44, visited Manby Hall, in Lincolnshire, earlier this year with his UK Ghost Hunts team and could not believe his luck when he captured the freaky footage.

The team didnt realise that an unknown figure wanders through the background until looking at the video later that night but Steve insists it could not have been any of his team and there was no one else in the building.

Steve believes he must have seen the shape in the corner of his eye as he followed the suspected phantom into a stairwell, which footage shows was eerily empty.

Manby was a key area for the RAF during WWII and the hall was once used as an RAF base as well as an old peoples home before closing down.

Steve, from Kimberley, in Nottingham said: The security guard went in the left room with two of the team members and I was following filming with a camera.

I didnt hear any footsteps in the corridor neither did the rest of the team or the security guard.

I must have seen something out the corner of my eye for me to go in there but I didnt really notice it at the time and didnt take any other notice and rejoined the guys, as you can see there are shadows on the back wall cast from our torch light but no shadows cast from the figure.

As you can see in the footage, the figure seems to be carrying a torch or bright ball but if this was someone wondering around within the building we would have seen their light and knew they were there.

After seeing the footage we went back to where it was taken to have a proper look at the room and corridors to find a reasonable explanation for what we caught.

It is a former RAF base then it was an old peoples home and now it is closed and only security have access to the building. However there are many ghost stories about the hall.

It was definitely not one of us four and there was definitely no one else in the building. It has been said that Manby is haunted by a Second World War pilot who is sometimes seen wearing a long coat.

Steve said: Rumours in the area are that Manby is haunted. I know we all presume that ghosts are a mist or shadows but what if the footage is of an apparition?.

All I can say is that there was four of us in total in this building and all four of us were accounted for.

Whatever this was, a human or a ghost, none of us noticed the figure as we turned into a room and no one heard any noise from footsteps on the rubble that is left over these corridors.

The team were filming an intro to a new ghost hunting series for YouTube and Amazon when the figure was caught on camera.

Steve said: There is 24 hours worth of footage and for something to just walk in and for us to not acknowledge it was there at the time is very weird.

Its really strange that a very large figure can pass in front of all of us silently and without being noticed within 15 feet of us. Its really cool because we know where we all were in the building.

Floyd Mayweather defeats Conor McGregor by TKO in 10th round - Duration: 9:56.

Floyd Mayweather defeats Conor McGregor by TKO in 10th round

The most improbable fight, one between an all-time great in Floyd Mayweather and an opponent, Conor McGregor, making his professional boxing debut, ended in the most probable way.

It ended with a dominant Mayweather stopping an outclassed McGregor by TKO in the 10th round of their massively hyped junior middleweight fight on Saturday night before 14,623 -- well under capacity -- at the T-Mobile Arena.

This was my last fight tonight. For sure, Mayweather said. Tonight was my last fight. Tonight I chose the right dance partner to dance with. Conor you are a hell of a champion..

With the victory, Mayweather surpassed the hallowed 49-0 mark that great heavyweight champion Rocky Marciano retired with. Its not a boxing record, but it is revered.

There are some who said that beating an opponent with no boxing experience was a disgraceful way to pass Marciano, but Mayweather made no apologies.

A win is a win, no matter how you get it, said Mayweather, who said during the buildup that he would consider it a failure if he didnt score a knockout.

Rocky Marciano is a legend, and I look forward to going into the Hall of Fame one day..

There was no logical reason to give McGregor, the UFCs 155-pound champion and one of the best mixed martial artists in the world but not a boxer, a chance in a different sport, but that didnt stop legions from cheering for the underdog.

But in the end it was Mayweather, a five-division world champion and the greatest fighter of his era, whose class shined through after a bit of a slow start he said was part of his game plan.

McGregor (0-1) was the one who dreamed up the fight, which has a chance to break all the combat sports revenue records set by Mayweather-Manny Pacquiao in 2015, when he mentioned during a television interview he was interested in leaving MMA for a fight with Mayweather.

Mayweather, happy in retirement, eventually came around, and the public ate it up.

He ended a two-year layoff to make a guaranteed $100 million but likely will make well in excess of $200 million, while McGregor was guaranteed $30 million and likely will earn more than $100 million for a fight that had an irresistible storyline -- could an MMA great cross over to the boxing ring and do the unimaginable?.

He couldnt, though he also showed his involvement in the fight was not the joke many said it was.

He came to fight, never stopped trying and showed bravery, and he got in a few solid shots in the early going to make things interesting.

I think we gave the fans what they wanted to see, said Mayweather, who guaranteed before the fight that it would not go the distance. I owed them for the Pacquiao fight.

I had to come straight ahead and give the fans a show. Thats what I gave them. Hes a lot better than I thought hed be. Hes a tough competitor, but I was the better man tonight..

Hes composed, hes not that fast, hes not that powerful, but, boy, is he composed in there, McGregor said. I thought it was close though, and I thought it was a bit of an early stoppage.

I was just a little fatigued. He was just a lot more composed with his shots. I have to give it to him, thats what 50 pro fights will do for you..

McGregor, a 29-year-old southpaw from Ireland, tried to go after Mayweather in the opening round, but he looked uneasy, and Mayweather moved around to get a good look at him.

McGregor landed a couple of shots and put his hands behind his back at one point in a slow-paced round.

The slow pace continued in the second round, but McGregor was moving forward and touching Mayweather, though referee Robert Byrd warned him for hitting behind the head.

Mayweather, 40, of Las Vegas, finally started to get going in the fourth round as he began to land right hands against McGregor, who seemed to begin tiring; his mouth was hanging open. Mayweather also began to target McGregors body.

Mayweather said the plan he and his father and trainer, Floyd Mayweather Sr. , devised was to start slowly.

Our game plan was to take our time, go to him, let him shoot his shots early and then take him out down the stretch, Mayweather said. We know in MMA he fights for 25 minutes.

After 25 minutes, he started to slow down. I guaranteed to everybody that this wouldnt go the distance.

I want to thank all the fans from Ireland and all the fans around the world for coming to see this event. I couldnt do any of this without the fans..

It was Mayweathers first knockout since he stopped Victor Ortiz in the fourth round of a welterweight title fight in 2011. McGregor said he was disappointed that Byrd stopped the fight when he did.

Ive been strangled on live TV and came back, McGregor said, referring to his submission loss and decision victory against Nate Diaz in 2016. When youre in here in the squared circle, everything is different.

Let the man put me down. Thats fatigue, thats not damage. Where was the final two rounds? Let me walk back to my corner and compose myself..

In the sixth round, Mayweather began to land hard head shots that pushed McGregor back. His face was beginning to show redness from the punches but the heavily pro-McGregor crowd was not deterred as they began to chant Conor! Conor!.

Mayweather landed a right hand in the seventh round that snapped McGregors head straight back. He continued to land crisp punches, whereas the shots McGregor landed didnt appear to have much steam on them.

McGregor went straight at Mayweather to open the ninth round and had to be pulled off his back by Byrd.

But the rest of the round was all Mayweather, who laid punishment on him with an assortment of clean right hands, one of which swiveled McGregors head.

Later in the round, Mayweather landed brutal combinations against an exhausted McGregor, who showed enormous heart but was outclassed.

In the 10th round, McGregor had nothing left. Mayweather landed a huge right hand that nearly knocked him down, and he then continued the assault, landing about a dozen unanswered punches.

McGregor was barely on his feet, and Byrd jumped in and stopped the fight at 1 minute, 5 seconds. At the time of the stoppage, Mayweather led 89-82, 89-81 and 87-83 on the judges scorecards.

Mayweather landed 170 of 320 punches (53 percent), according to CompuBox statistics, and McGregor landed with 111 of 430 (26 percent). McGregors punch output dropped dramatically in the ninth and 10th rounds when he was getting hammered, but he acquitted himself well.

Perhaps it was his age or the long layoff, but Mayweather, known for his defensive brilliance, got hit a bit more than usual.

Nine Mayweather opponents landed less than 100 punches in a 12-round fight -- including Pacquiao, who landed 81 -- but McGregor landed 111 in 10 rounds. Mayweather, however, said he fought exactly like he had planned.

Our game plan was to go straight ahead, Mayweather said. I said numerous times that I wouldnt back down, and thats what I did..
