Chiropractors Can't Cure Anything! - Duration: 3:49.

Can chiropractors cure anything? That's a question I often get. And sometimes

it's sincere and sometimes it's a little bit in spite, but it's the wrong question.

Chiropractors can't cure anything. Nor do they want to. Chiropractors can't treat

hardly anything. They can treat a spine. They can treat a misalignment according

to their scope of practice. And even though I'm a chiropractor I have gone so

far in different.. not away from chiropractic but in addition to

chiropractic that I hardly think of myself as a chiropractor anymore. I think

of myself as a holistic doctor. If... The answer that I've been thinking about, I

haven't used yet, is if someone asks me, "What kind of doctor are you?" I want to

answer, "The kind that get people better" And what's the thing about... If some

people think that because chiropractors sometimes claim, or sometimes get the

reputation... oh we help with this condition, and this condition, and this

condition then it's like no that can't be true. If an orthopedic if a specialist

medical doctor can only handle one thing how can chiropractors or holistic

doctors handle all of that stuff? Well it's a misunderstanding in the very

premise of what you're asking because chiropractors don't treat they don't

cure what we do is we support the body. The body is designed to heal and that's

something that we have forgotten as a society. That there are so many people not

healing anymore that we assume that I guess it's not happening, I guess we were

wrong the the body isn't supposed to heal, is it's made defective and it

breaks. Well what we find is if we support and help the body by addressing

the underlying condition by addressing the underlying cause and if we can trace

it far enough back to the root cause then we can unleash that

healing ability again. So do we can we treat or cure anything? Absolutely not. We

don't even want to. Can the body heal and cure anything? Yes. So it's not that we

have this wide variety of treatment it's that we handle the crucial factor the

thing that is holding the body back. So that is why we have patients that report

to us that they no longer have migraines, they no longer have back pain, they no

longer have tennis elbow, they no longer have insomnia, they no longer have

indigestion, but it's not because we treated those

things that's because we help the body heal it. It's a shift in understanding

and that's the only way that we can ever get anything better and the only way

that we can ever do anything about the health crisis that we have. If we stop

treating and curing and if we instead start addressing the cause and helping

the body heal. This sounds really really really simple and people kind of get it

on the surface, and yet five minutes later I hear someone complain about

something. They say can you treat this because it even though it's a simple

concept it takes a lot of time and a lot of study to really truly get it.

Do Eyebrow Threading and Coconut Oil Cause Acne? | SKINCARE CONFIDENTIAL - Duration: 10:15.

and we're here to talk to you today

and answer a few questions see how y'all are doin'.

- Y'all.

Yeah, you know I am not at all southern,

but the word y'all is one of the best things out there,

okay, let me just say that.

- It's very comforting, I think.

- It is, right?

- It's very homey.

- (laughing) We'll have linguistics hour next time.

All right guys, so, do you wanna go first?

- Sure.

- Yeah.

- So, we got a question from Anastasia Gonzales,

she asks, "How do I prevent outbreaks after threading?"

So I thread my eyebrows about once a month.

I really like it, I prefer it over tweezing.

I've gotten used to it so I have a couple of

tips for you.

I've also broken out before from threading,

so I know what you're talking about.

So, tip number one is try to avoid makeup when

you're threading.

So, when you think about it,

when they're threading they're pulling the hair from the

root, so if there's any makeup or concealer around it

can clog your pores.

So you definitely wanna avoid any makeup,

go makeup free and get threaded.

- Yeah, that's a good tip.

- And tip number two it seems pretty obvious,

but go with somebody that does a good job.

If you've really had a good experience get her or his name

number and continue to go with the same person.

It does make a big difference.

Sometimes I've had people go too fast

and it even makes you bleed,

that little spot will lead to hyperpigmentation,

which takes a couple months to go away.

So go to somebody that you like,

that you feel comfortable with.

Step number three would be avoid the witch hazel.

So after you get your threading done they'll go ahead

and apply witch hazel around the areas.

Sometimes it has alcohol though,

so that instead of it being soothing it's almost like a

burning or alcohol feeling which is not nice

after you threaded.

- Mm, right.

(laughing)

- So, before they go and reach for it,

just tell them, "No thank you, I'll skip that step."

go home, rinse off your face with water,

and then apply a gentle moisturizer.

If you have a lot of redness you can even try aloe gel,

so much like a sunburn or irritation a little aloe gel

will also help.

- That's really good.

I mean as for me I'm about to have my first threading

here soon.

- Exciting.

Yes, let y'all know how that works out.

Let's tell everyone how much does it hurt?

This is the question I'm always asking everybody.

I'm a waxer now I'm gonna be a converted threader since I

use my tretinoin every night.

- I think it hurts less than waxing.

- Excellent, this is what I like to hear, all right.

- And you get used to it.

and like I said, if somebody is really good at what they're

doing, it shouldn't hurt that much, so ...

- Love this.

- Find a good person and stick with them.

- You're gonna make me brave.

That's good, okay.

All right, these were some really good tips.

I was eatin' that up.

Okay, so, I have a question from Rebecca,

she is asking about coconut oil.

She had heard that it can really help with acne

and blemishes and be very moisturizing for the skin

on top of it.

It is true that it's very moisturizing.

Coconut oil can be great for those dry spots on your elbows,

your knees, nice moisturizer for your hair,

but generally if you are, particularly if you're acne prone,

coconut oil's a real no-no, I'm sorry to tell you.

It really, most oils are very well tolerated,

we like to recommend various oils for removing makeup

like jojoba and mineral oil,

however coconut oil really can clog the pores,

lead to further break outs and setbacks,

the opposite of what we're goin' for here.

So, I have to say, save that coconut oil for your cooking,

your hair, your dry spots where you don't get acne on your

body and avoid it otherwise, unfortunately.

- Yeah, that's a good tip.

- Yeah, wouldn't you agree?

- I agree.

- Yeah.

- 100%

- But it smells good.

(laughing)

- Okay, we have another question from Bridget Ericson,

she asks,

"How can I minimize skin texture on my cheek bones?"

So, I'm seeing a lot of clogged pores with my patients,

especially now that contour, highlight,

bronzer's so popular,

- Oh, yeah.

- If you think about it, - It's a good point.

- Cheekbones get a lot of makeup.

They probably have the most amount of layers,

- Yeah.

- Than the rest of the skin.

- So true.

- You have your foundation, you have your primer,

possibly your concealer depending on how far

down you take it.

- Yeah.

- You have your bronzer, blush, highlight and contour.

That's a lot going on in the cheekbone area.

- Yeah, that's a god point.

- So, like we've been mentioning for so many weeks,

you really do wanna make sure that your products,

your makeup products, are non-comedogenic.

So, meaning they're not going to clog your pores.

This is gonna help keep that cheekbone area with all the

layers of makeup,

if you choose to go the full nine yards with your makeup,

will keep it nice and smooth.

So, tip number two would be to remove your makeup at night.

So you don't wanna leave any makeup residue that can

definitely clog the pores.

Jen and I particularly really like micellar water to

remove makeup, so we'll use it on cotton pad,

remove your makeup.

I don't think it's enough to be a makeup remover

and a cleanser, do you?

- No, I prefer to do both.

I use the micellar water first and I do think it does a

great job of just taking it all off,

but I don't know if it's habit or need,

but I really like to do just a light cleansing afterwards.

- Right.

- With something gentle.

- So do I. - Yeah.

- Follow up with a gentle cleanser.

I've actually tested it out.

So I've gotten one pad and like removed my makeup

and then tried a second one

and sure enough there's still a little bit of residue.

So I was like, okay, I'll go in once

and then follow up with a gentle cleanser.

- Yeah, I think that's a good, I think that's the way to go.

That way you can kind of be gentle in the application

of both, you don't have to really overkill it with either

one to be certain that you got your makeup off.

- Yup.

- Yeah, I love that.

- And the last tip or step would be adding a gentle

chemical exfoliant.

So, I particularly like AHA, which is glycolic acid

or lactic acid, but you can use BHA,

which is salicylic acid.

So I would do this very slowly,

especially if you're not used to chemical exfoliants.

Go ahead and add one weekly.

It comes in many forms.

So it comes in a cleanser, it comes in a toner,

treatment pads, mask, so many options.

- Yup, yeah.

- So whatever options you feel comfortable with

start it once weekly

and see if you can get rid of those clogged pores

on your cheekbones.

- Great tips.

- Thank you.

- Those were really good.

So, well, I'll take a question here.

This was from Caitlin and she asked, her skin is clear,

but she has some remaining hyperpigmentation while she's

been using a low percentage of tretinoin

and she's wondering if she'll get any more benefit from

slowly kind of bumping up that tretinoin

and the answer, the short answer is yes.

The longer answer is you do wanna be slow

and steady about it,

bumping that up to still a low percentage,

she's doing 0.009 we can bump that to 0.018,

it's still keeping it low,

but it's just a nice way to just ease your skin into a

higher percentage of tretinoin and it does,

as we bump that up,

it really does help improve the hyperpigmentation.

It takes time, but overall I would say that that would be a

very smart step.

Now, alternatively,

if you're just really loving your formula,

you don't wanna make a change to the percentage of tretinoin

that you're using, that's perfectly fine.

People get into a really nice sweet spot with their formulas

and sometimes you just don't wanna mess with success

as we say.

But in that case you could add on over the counter products

such as certain over the counter products that have

niacinamide in it.

Niacinamide is a great ingredient for reducing

that hyperpigmentation.

Additionally, a vitamin C serum.

I'm personally really in love with my vitamin C serums.

So, I think that that is really nice addition.

Not to mention it is a great antioxidant.

So all those free radicals out in the world you kinda

help combat that a little but too.

- Yeah, so she definitely has options.

- Yeah, definitely options.

Just depends on your comfort level in the end.

And there's always multiple ways to do it,

it just depends what works for you.

And sometimes people choose to do both

and that's okay as well.

So, definitely give it a shot one way or the other

and see what works best for ya.

Yeah.

So you know what I'm wondering,

what is a product that you recommend to your friends

that you just ... ?

- Micellar water.

- Yeah, micellar water.

- It's just a gentle way of removing your makeup,

- I now, I agree.

- It really feels different from what we're used to.

I feel like especially here in the United States

we're used to stripping and drying

and really treating your face.

So to have something gentle to remove your makeup is,

- Yeah, I agree.

- Really comforting, how 'bout you?

Your vitamin C?

- Yeah, my vitamin C serum.

I love it. - Mad Hippie.

- I use one by Mad Hippie.

There's a lot of great ones out there,

Paula's Choice and everything,

but Mad Hippie Vitamin C Serum,

it's gentle, it smells nice, it feels nice.

- Yeah.

- It's a good one.

- Yeah.

I think we're gonna take one question,

especially since we're talking about makeup remover.

Yvette Maria Monseratt is asking,

"Is it bad to cleanse everyday even if we use makeup

removal wipes?"

So makeup removal wipes are fine as long as they don't

have alcohol and that's where it gets tricky.

I continue to look for makeup wipes that were gentle

and that my patients like,

but at the end of the day nothing's gentler than the

micellar water.

- I know, I think this is why we've been such a convert to

the micellar water. - Right.

- 'Cause even with wipes, even if they're gentle,

I think just the abrasive action of like.

- Right, they're usually textured as well.

So, it adds to some irritation.

So, if you can switch to the micellar water,

I would recommend that.

It's as affordable, I mean the prices are comparable.

- Probably more so.

- Right.

- You go through those wipes really fast.

- Yeah.

- And then the cleansing everyday of course you can

cleanse in the morning and afternoon, that should be fine.

Like Jen and I we cleanse in the morning and afternoon

and we use our micellar water before cleansing at night

and I don't notice any added irritation.

- Yeah, and sometimes I'll just do water in the morning,

honestly, if I'm not feeling particularly oily

or need it I'll just do water,

maybe a brief swipe of the toner or something,

- You're then set.

- And I'm set.

- Yup.

- Yeah.

So you gotta really find what works for you.

Oh hey!

It's 5:46 in the morning. There's a ton of cars here already. We thought we were going to be the only ones.

Yeah, see, it's almost full already.

We're going to Horseshoe Bend. I've read that it's better to see the sunrise here than the sunset

because the sunset causes a shadow.

It's very sandy. I wasn't expecting that.

It's going to be great to have sand in our shoes.

We're such complainers hahaha

We just want to be able to walk there, take a picture and go.

Yeah, that's what I was expecting.

There's people...

This is our land... hahaha

...and sand!?... hahaha

We have to go uphill!?

This is a lot further than we thought. I mean it's still easy to get to

but you still have to go up and down and it's like a 5-10 minute walk.

...in the sand.

And we didn't bring water with us because we thought it was like so close.

And then Candy went to the car

and then halfway down, she's like "Oh shoot, I don't have the car keys"...

So then she came back, so we're just like not with it this morning.

We were in the heat for awhile because it takes forever to get into the actual canyon.

So when you're taking photos, you really want to avoid the skyline.

Just cause it's too bright and it's going to enhance everything. Your camera's gonna focus right there

and it's going to make everything dark.

This looks like we're in Indiana Jones.

We came in that little hole back there. We were like going inside all that...

We're a little out of breath because it was a bit of a climb.

Yeah and then right when you get out, it's like 100 degree weather.

It goes from like 75 degrees to like a 100 degrees. But it was amazing.

Really cool stuff. Definitely recommend this.

DIY No Sew Belt From Old Denim Pants | Arpitharai - Duration: 4:06.

hi everyone! what do you do with your old denim pants? today I will show you

one of the denim hack which is very easy to do and it will add fun to any

garment. let's get into the video. I would say, never throw away any denim pant.

I even grab others denim pants who ever are trying to give away

because the fabric is so sturdy and you can use it for many things. today I will

show you what you can do with a denim pant waistband. I have an old denim pant

waistband which is cut. it has the button and buttonhole intact. so you have

a waistband. the more distressed it is, the good for me. I have added one stitch

also here. I think it was torn so I did that. that adds to my look. with this

waistband, I will make a belt. it's very quick. you just need some fun beads and

buttons and whatever you want to stick it on and a glue. that's it! after you

have done with the whole thing, this can be used as a belt for any garment. I

generally wear loose fitted dresses. For them I can just use this as a belt. once

you're done with the DIY and ready with the waistband,

you can use it as a belt or a decorative item in your room anywhere. just use it

the way you want. get creative try and use it in different ways. you

need the waistband and some fun buttons and beads. these are from my very old

collection of buttons and beads. I just picked out whatever I like. I want to

make this colorful. any kind of glue which you are comfortable with. I even

have a crochet thing let's see how I am going to use it. start placing these

buttons the way you want. I'm going to add some red here and there as I have

that red stitch happening and I have this crochet rope.

that's how I want to place them all. let's start sticking them onto the waist band

there you go. I've stuck them all together and let's give it some time to

dry. after that you're all set to use this fun belt. I have stuck them with

glue but you can choose to stitch them with hand. whichever is convenient for you

if you are gluing this, it can be ready within five to ten minutes.
