Controlled Unclassified Information: Lawful Government Purpose - Duration: 5:29.

The standard for sharing and protecting CUI under the CUI program is "Lawful Government

Purpose."

Lawful Government Purpose is a pro-active standard to apply in making decisions about

when to share and when not to share information between Federal agencies and non-Federal partners

who handle CUI in government projects and operations.

The definition of Lawful Government Purpose is explicit in the Federal regulation establishing

the CUI program [32 CFR 2002.4 (bb)].

Lawful Government Purpose is a dynamic standard for deciding when to share and when not to

share CUI, because it focuses on the purposes CUI may serve as a resource in achieving the

mission objectives of government operations and projects.

In principle, CUI should be [but is not required to be] shared between Executive branch agencies

and with non-federal partners, when for example the CUI resource (the contents of CUI), will

help to achieve the goals of a common project or operation between Federal agencies or under

a contract or agreement with the designating agency.

If sharing the CUI resource would obstruct or harm the government purpose, then do not

share the CUI.

REMEMBER: Lawful Government Purpose is any activity, mission, function, operation, or

endeavor that the U.S.

Government authorizes or recognizes as within the scope of its legal authorities or the

legal authorities of non-executive branch entities (such as state and local law enforcement).

The mandate for sharing and protecting CUI follows agency policies, which implement the

CUI program across the Federal government.

All agency policies follow the same fundamental rules that distinguish between CUI Basic and

CUI Specified, and which allow designating agencies to apply Limited Dissemination Controls

approved by the CUI Executive Agent.

Agencies may only designate information as CUI under the authority of a law, Federal

regulation, or Government-wide policy.

If the authority identifies what information to control without further asserting how to

control it, that is CUI Basic.

If the law, Federal regulation, or Government-wide policy goes further into details about how

to control information, that is CUI Specified.

The categories and sub-categories for all CUI, and the details for how to control CUI

Specified, appear in the CUI Registry.

The CUI Registry also lists Limited Dissemination Controls, which may be applied to CUI (Basic

and Specified) by Authorized Holders – unless, in the case of CUI Specified, such a Limited

Dissemination Control conflicts with the law, Federal regulation, or Government-wide policy

that establishes that category or subcategory.

An authorized holder is an individual, agency, organization or group of users that is permitted

to designate or handle CUI.

The CUI program only permits authorized holders, those who designate or handle CUI to apply

additional markings called Limited Dissemination Controls to CUI handled or designated by the

authorized holder.

All Limited Dissemination Controls must be approved by the CUI executive agent and listed

in the CUI registry which currently lists just seven for example CUI marked FED only

further restricts sharing to federal employees, CUI marked NONCON prohibits sharing with contractors.

Authorized holders should apply these Limited Dissemination controls only to promote a lawful

government purpose.

In short, the principle of Lawful Government Purpose requires that Authorized Holders of

CUI must not share CUI where sharing is prohibited, restricted, or further subject to Limited

Dissemination Controls.

Sharing all CUI (including CUI Basic) is prohibited outside of Executive branch agencies, or non-Federal

partners under contracts or agreements with Executive branch agencies.

Prohibitions and restrictions on sharing categories and subcategories of CUI Specified must be

specific, based on specific laws, Federal regulations or Government-wide policies.

It is also important to remember that CUI EA-approved Limited Dissemination Controls

applied by Authorized Holders to promote a Lawful Government Purpose, may further restrict

and prohibit the sharing of CUI in certain ways.

Finally, Lawful Government Purpose is a dynamic standard, which requires risk-based decision

making.

To get the most out of CUI resources, Authorized Holders must respond to risks and opportunities

as they develop.

When sharing CUI will promote the objectives of a government project or operation, then

share it with other Executive branch agencies, and non-Federal partners under contracts and

agreements.

Protect, and do not share CUI when law, Federal regulation, or Government-wide policy prohibit

sharing.

Government projects and operations require Authorized Holders of CUI to assess risks,

and respond to opportunities, in determining whether sharing or restricting access within

the law will best promote a Lawful Government Purpose.

Controlled Unclassified Information: Non-Traditional Markings - Duration: 4:36.

Hi, thank you for joining us today.

Today, we are going to addressing the non-traditional markings of Controlled Unclassified Information,

like how to use cover sheets and forms, as well as marking emails or storage containers.

To begin, let's consider when a form must be marked as Controlled Unclassified Information.

If a form is going to be filled in with information that falls under the definition of CUI, it

must be labeled to reflect as much.

In this example, the application or form calls for a social security number to be filled

in by the applicant.

This is information that qualifies as CUI, and therefore that information must be protected.

The control marking on the form can say "Controlled" or "CUI" when filled in.

If space is limited on the form, consider using a cover sheet.

On that note, there are situations in which it is more convenient to use a cover sheet

to mark CUI.

Though it is not a mandatory practice, it is often the most practical and therefore

worthwhile to learn.

Coversheets are available to be downloaded and used from the CUI Registry online.

On screen for reference are three available templates, which you can use and fill in if

you choose to use a CUI coversheet.

Optional Forms 902 and 903 can be used to convey any categories or subcategories as

well as any special handling information.

Frequently documents are shared between two parties that will contain CUI.

To ensure that the receiving party properly handles the CUI, transmittal documents must

be marked to reflect as much.

The document must have a clear and conspicuous message along the lines of "When enclosure

is removed, this document becomes Uncontrolled Unclassified Information".

As you can see in the example on screen, a fax is being sent that contains CUI.

However, the first page of the fax also indicates the presence of CUI in an obvious manner.

In our modern workplaces, it is often most convenient to store CUI by electronic means,

such as a flash drive or CD rom.

However, In these cases, there must still be a marking that clearly and conspicuously

denotes the presence of CUI.

Though it may not always be practical to include category, subcategory, etc. at a minimum there

must be a clear label of "Controlled" or "CUI" on the outside of media objects

such as a flash drive.

In the electronic environment, there are often situations in which the CUI cannot be marked.

If a file is stored and accessed on a computer system, it cannot be marked physically as

a CD-Rom or flash drive could.

In these cases, an access banner or splash screen can be used to alert users to the presence

of CUI contained within the system or application.

Much like electronic forms of storage, physical storage spaces such as file cabinets or boxes

may also have a label which clearly denotes the presence of CUI.

Again, it isn't always possible to include the subcategory or dissemination controls;

however it is permissible to place signage conspicuously on the outside of the storage

area that indicates the presence of CUI.

If there exists a bulk of CUI material falling under the same controls, they do not need

to be marked individually but rather can be marked in the aggregate.

Therefore, the control marking on the outside of a filing cabinet, should it contain a large

bulk of information all falling under the same controls of CUI, will be sufficient if

that marking is appropriate for the entire group

When sharing CUI by physical means, that is to say by shipping or mailing, it is important

to take steps to ensure that only authorized users will receive the CUI package.

This means that it should be very clearly marked for the recipient and only the recipient,

by the individual name if applicable.

Furthermore, since the delivery will be handled by several non-authorized holders, do not

place any CUI markings on the outer wrapper.

This is absolutely mandatory.

Similarly, it is important to train any mailroom staff who will be handling CUI on the proper

protections they should be taking with that package.

Thank you for joining us today, and for taking the time to learn how to properly handle your

CUI.

If you have any further questions please visit the CUI registry or contact the office of

controlled unclassified information.

The colleges where the American dream is still alive - Duration: 3:31.

Elite universities love to market themselves

as engines of upward mobility.

Elite and egalitarian.

And for low income students they do offer

incredibly generous financial aid.

I found out that for a family like ours,

we wouldn't have to worry about affording Harvard.

I'm really grateful because I wouldn't have been

able to get here were it not for the amazing

financial aid package I received.

Thanks to some new economic data,

we can now see just how good these colleges

actually are at lifting students out of poverty.

And when we do,

the results aren't what you'd expect.

A group of economists looked at

two sets of records:

Income tax forms from the IRS

and graduation data from the Department of Education.

with all the identifying information taken out.

They looked at 10.8 million people

born between 1980 and 1982.

The tax forms showed how much money

their families made.

And the researchers placed each person in a group

based on that income.

From the bottom 20%,

whose families made about $25,000 or less per year,

to the top 20%,

whose families made about $110,000 or more per year.

They looked at where each person went to college

and how their position on the income ladder

changed about 10 years after graduation.

If you look at kids from the bottom 20%

who go to elite colleges like Harvard,

they do really well.

Over half of them go from families

in the poorest fifth of the American economy,

to being in the top fifth

by the time they're in their mid-thirties.

Same thing at Stanford,

Yale,

and Princeton.

The problem is, these schools don't let in

very many kids from the bottom

rung of the ladder.

In the class of 2013 only 4.5%

of Harvard students came from the bottom 20%

of the income distribution.

So, about a fourth as many people

as you would expect if Harvard were

representing the American population.

Testing data show there are plenty of

qualified low income students out there.

They're just not applying to elite schools.

Many, many, many more people who were born into

privilege and have wealthy families

get to go to these places.

Then there are colleges with the opposite problem,

like Moultrie Technical College in Georgia.

Thirty-four percent of their students

came from the bottom rung of the ladder.

So, it's really good at access,

but a very small fraction of them make it

to the top fifth of the income distribution.

But there are some schools who are good at both.

Cal State LA, it's a commuter school,

it's enrolling a lot, a lot, a lot of poor kids.

Twenty percent of students come from

the bottom rung of the ladder

and half of them end up at the top rung.

PACE University in New York.

Which, does a little worse on access,

Ten percent of its students come from

the bottom rung of the ladder.

But, well over half of them wind up

in the top 20%.

David Leonhardt at the New York Times refers to them

as America's Great Working-Class Colleges.

And, I really like that saying

that they're not the famous ones

they're not the ones that get a lot of press coverage

or get represented in movies.

There's no 'Social Network' about Cal State LA.

But, they're doing the work.

It's Time to Get Off the Fence - Enjoying Everyday Life - Duration: 28:33.

ANNOUNCER: THE FOLLOWING PROGRAM IS PAID FOR

BY THE FRIENDS AND PARTNERS OF JOYCE MEYER MINISTRIES.

[MUSIC]

JOYCE: REVELATION 3:15, MIGHT AS WELL START IN THE GOOD BOOK.

LET'S JUST GET RIGHT OVER HERE WITH THE "WOES"

RIGHT OFF THE BAT.

VERSE 15: "I KNOW YOUR [RECORD OF] WORKS

AND WHAT YOU'RE DOING."

TURN TO THE PERSON NEXT TO YOU AND SAY, "GOD KNOWS

WHAT YOU'RE DOING."

HM, THAT SHOULD JUST KIND OF SCARE SOME OF US.

[AUDIENCE LAUGHING]

JOYCE: YOU KNOW, WHEN YOU GO INSIDE AND SHUT THE DOOR TO YOUR

HOUSE AND BECOME A DIFFERENT HUMAN BEING THAN THE ONE YOU ARE

ON SUNDAY MORNING, C'MON, YOU KNOW WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT.

GOD STILL KNOWS WHAT WE'RE DOING.

"AND I KNOW THAT YOU'RE NEITHER COLD NOR HOT.

AND I WOULD THAT YOU WERE COLD OR HOT!

SO, BECAUSE YOU ARE LUKEWARM AND NEITHER COLD OR HOT, I WILL SPEW

YOU OUT OF MY MOUTH!

FOR YOU SAY, I AM RICH; I HAVE PROSPERED AND GROWN WEALTHY,

AND I AM IN NEED OF NOTHING."

THIS REMINDS ME SO MUCH OF THE UNITED STATES.

WE'RE PROSPEROUS, WE'VE GOT IT ALL TOGETHER, WE'RE THE GREATEST

NATION ON THE FACE OF THE EARTH AND, BOY, IS THAT THEORY GOING

DOWN THE TUBES.

"AND I AM IN NEED OF NOTHING; AND YOU DO NOT REALIZE AND

UNDERSTAND THAT YOU ARE WRETCHED, PITIABLE, POOR,

BLIND, AND NAKED."

WOW.

"THEREFORE I COUNSEL YOU TO PURCHASE FROM ME," CAPITAL "M,"

THIS IS GOD SPEAKING, "GOLD REFINED AND TESTED BY FIRE."

NOW, I JUST MIGHT AS WELL TELL YOU THAT I ALREADY AM GATHERING

MATERIAL TO TEACH MY SERIES THAT I AM GONNA PUT TOGETHER

ON THE FIRE OF GOD BECAUSE IT'S TIME FOR US TO HAVE IT.

WHEN THE FIRE OF GOD COMES INTO YOUR LIFE IT BURNS UP EVERYTHING

THAT'S NOT CONSISTENT WITH GOD'S NATURE AND IT SETS ON FIRE

WHATEVER HAPPENS TO BE LEFT.

[AUDIENCE CHEERING]

JOYCE: AND I KNOW ABOUT IT 'CAUSE I'VE HAD IT.

NOW, JESUS SAID--OR JOHN SAID OF JESUS, "HE WILL BAPTIZE YOU WITH

THE HOLY GHOST AND WITH FIRE."

AND YOU KNOW WHAT?

WE DON'T HEAR ENOUGH ABOUT THAT.

WE DON'T EVEN HEAR ENOUGH ANYMORE ABOUT BEING BAPTIZED IN

THE HOLY GHOST 'CAUSE EVERYBODY WANTS TO BE POLITICALLY CORRECT,

NOT SAY ANYTHING THAT'S GONNA SHAKE UP ANY OTHER DENOMINATION,

OTHER THAN YOUR OWN.

YOU KNOW WHAT?

ALL THIS DENOMINATION STUFF IS NONSENSE ANYWAY BECAUSE

IT'S NOT--THERE'S NOT GONNA BE ANY IN HEAVEN, AMEN.

[AUDIENCE APPLAUDING]

JOYCE: IT'S JUST SO SILLY.

"WELL, YOU KNOW, YOU SPEAK IN TONGUES AND I DON'T SPEAK

IN TONGUES.

AND YOU BELIEVE IN HEALING AND I DON'T BELIEVE IN HEALING,

SO I CAN'T TALK TO YOU.

I'VE GOT TO PUT UP A WALL.

YOU CAN'T COME INTO MY GROUP."

IF SOMEBODY IS FUNCTIONING OUT OF A GIFT OF THE SPIRIT AND YOU

DON'T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THE GIFTS OF THE SPIRIT, INSTEAD

OF JUDGING THEM AND THINKING THEY'RE CRAZY,

WHY DON'T YOU SAY, "MAN, I'D LIKE TO KNOW MORE"?

CHECK IT OUT IN THE BIBLE.

YOU KNOW, I HEARD THIS SOMETIME THIS PAST YEAR AND IT REALLY

MEANT A LOT TO ME.

ACTUALLY, I WAS OVER IN LONDON DOING A CONFERENCE ACTUALLY WITH

A LOT OF HIGH-RANKING OFFICIALS IN THE CATHOLIC CHURCH AND SO

DON'T KNOW WHAT I WAS DOING THERE BUT ANYWAY,

WE HAD A GREAT TIME.

AND I MEAN, IT WAS LIKE THE CONFESSOR TO THE POPE

AND AN ARCHBISHOP OF SOMETHING ELSE AND A ARCHBISHOP

FROM SOMETHING ELSE.

I MEAN, EVERYBODY HAD A TITLE AND THEN THERE WAS ME, JOYCE.

[AUDIENCE LAUGHING]

JOYCE: FROM FENTON.

[AUDIENCE LAUGHING]

JOYCE: SO I GOT UP AND I SAID, "WELL, YOU KNOW WHAT?

I'M FROM ST. LOUIS AND WE'VE GOT THE ARCH SO

I'M THE ARCHBISHOP OF ST. LOUIS.

[AUDIENCE LAUGHING]

JOYCE: THAT'S WHAT I TOLD THE CROWD SO I'M NOW

THE ARCHBISHOP OF ST. LOUIS.

[AUDIENCE LAUGHING]

JOYCE: BUT ANYWAY, THE--ONE OF THE MEN THAT WERE SPEAKING

TOLD THIS STORY AND I THOUGHT IT WAS--OR HE DID--WASN'T A STORY.

HE JUST SAID, "YOU KNOW WHAT?" HE SAID,

"WE'VE GOTTA STOP FIGHTING.

WE MAY NOT ALL BELIEVE EXACTLY THE SAME BUT WE ALL SERVE

THE SAME GOD."

[AUDIENCE APPLAUDING]

JOYCE: AND LET ME TELL YOU SOMETHING.

UNTIL WE STOP FIGHTING AMONGST OURSELVES AND BEGIN TO LOVE EACH

OTHER, THE WORLD IS GONNA THINK WE ARE NOTHING BUT A BIG JOKE.

[AUDIENCE APPLAUDING]

JOYCE: SO I'M JUST GONNA TELL YOU AHEAD OF TIME, DON'T EVER

COME TO ME AND SAY ANYTHING ABOUT ANYBODY FROM ANOTHER

DENOMINATION 'CAUSE I DON'T WANNA HEAR IT,

I'M NOT GETTING INTO IT.

I--REALLY, TO BE HONEST WITH YOU, I DON'T HAVE THAT KIND

OF STUFF IN MY HEART.

IT'S NOT IN ME.

I DON'T--I MEAN, I JUST DON'T GET INTO THAT.

I DON'T--HOW CAN YOU JUST HATE SOMEBODY BECAUSE THEY'RE

A DIFFERENT DENOMINATION THAN YOU ARE?

YOU KNOW, THAT'S ABOUT AS GOOFY AS NOT LIKING SOMEBODY 'CAUSE

THEY'VE GOT A DIFFERENT COLOR SKIN THAN YOU DO.

I MEAN, IT'S JUST--ALL THIS STUFF IS DEMONIC.

IT'S JUST THE ENEMY AND WE HAVE TO STOP BUYING INTO IT.

[AUDIENCE CHEERING]

JOYCE: AND SOMEBODY'S GOTTA TAKE A STAND AND I SAY

IT NEEDS TO START HERE.

AT LEAST WE CAN BE PART OF THE FIRE.

AND HE SAID, "DO YOU KNOW WHAT?

WHEN THE TERRORISTS ARE LINING CHRISTIANS UP AND SHOOTING THEM

BECAUSE THEY'RE CHRISTIANS, THEY DON'T STOP AND ASK,

'WHAT DENOMINATION ARE YOU?'" HE SAID, "THEY THINK WE'RE ONE.

WE'RE THE ONLY ONES THAT DON'T GET IT, AMEN?"

JESUS PRAYED THAT WE WOULD ALL BE ONE, EVEN AS HE

AND THE FATHER WERE ONE.

PAUL PRAYED THAT WE WOULD GET ALONG, THAT WE WOULD HAVE HUMBLE

MINDS AND GET ALONG.

AND SO HERE WE'RE BACK TO THE MIND AGAIN.

THE ONLY WAY THAT YOU CAN TRULY LOVE SOMEBODY THAT'S NOT LIKE

YOU IS TO HAVE A HUMBLE ENOUGH MIND TO REALIZE THAT WHATEVER

YOU ARE IS A GIFT FROM GOD AND WHATEVER THEY'RE NOT IS NOT

SOMETHING THAT THEY CAN HELP.

GOD DIDN'T MAYBE GIVE THEM WHAT YOU HAVE BUT HE GAVE THEM

SOMETHING ELSE YOU DON'T HAVE, AND THAT'S WHY WE NEED

TO WORK TOGETHER.

[AUDIENCE APPLAUDING]

JOYCE: AND YOU KNOW WHAT?

THERE'LL PROBABLY BE PEOPLE HERE TONIGHT THAT SOMEBODY BROUGHT

YOU AS A GUEST OR, I DON'T KNOW, YOU'RE CURIOUS, WHATEVER, AND,

YOU KNOW, YOU ARE GONNA BE MAKING A BIG MISTAKE JUST

BECAUSE YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND EVERYTHING WE'RE DOING OR

BECAUSE IT'S NOT DONE THAT WAY IN YOUR CHURCH IF YOU GO HOME

WITH A JUDGMENTAL, CRITICAL ATTITUDE.

'CAUSE THE MINUTE THAT YOU BECOME OFFENDED, YOU CAN'T GROW

AND YOU CAN'T LEARN WHAT GOD WANTS YOU TO LEARN.

AND SATAN WANTS US TO BE OFFENDED.

SO THAT'S ONE OF THE THINGS THAT THE FIRE OF GOD NEEDS TO BURN

OUT IN OUR LIVES.

LET ME TELL YOU SOMETHING.

I AM BAPTIZED IN THE HOLY GHOST AND I DO BELIEVE IN THE GIFTS

OF THE SPIRIT AND I DO BELIEVE EVERYTHING THAT THE BIBLE HAS TO

SAY AND I'M NOT GONNA CHANGE MY MIND AND I'M NOT ASHAMED OF IT.

BUT YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE EXACTLY LIKE ME FOR ME TO LOVE YOU.

I'M GONNA LOVE YOU ANYWAY.

EVEN IF YOU DON'T LOVE ME, I'M GONNA LOVE YOU.

[AUDIENCE CHEERING]

JOYCE: AND YOU KNOW WHY I CAN SAY THAT?

'CAUSE I NOT ONLY GOT BAPTIZED IN THE HOLY GHOST,

I ALSO GOT THE BAPTISM OF FIRE.

I DIDN'T KNOW I WAS GONNA GET THAT.

I THINK WE THINK, "OH, YES, I WANNA BE FILLED

WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT, YES."

[AUDIENCE LAUGHING]

JOYCE: WHATEVER REASON.

SOME OF YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT.

WE'LL TELL YOU ABOUT THAT TOMORROW.

YOU THINK, "WAIT A MINUTE, BAPTIZED IN THE HOLY SPIRIT?

I WAS BAPTIZED IN WATER, DOES THAT COUNT?

WHAT'S SHE TALKING ABOUT?" WELL, SEE, THAT'S THE PROBLEM.

WE DON'T EVEN KNOW HALF THE TIME WHAT THE BIBLE HAS TO SAY

BECAUSE SOME OF OUR DENOMINATIONS DON'T OPEN US UP

TO THOSE THINGS AND THEN WE--WE'RE JUST, LIKE, "WHOA."

[AUDIENCE LAUGHING]

JOYCE: LISTEN, IT'S SAD BUT I REMEMBER WHEN I WAS FILLED

WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT I GOT ASKED TO LEAVE MY CHURCH.

AND YOU KNOW WHAT THEY TOLD ME?

AND THIS IS PATHETIC.

THEY SAID, "WE CANNOT DENY THAT WHAT YOU'RE SAYING HAPPENED

TO YOU IS IN THE BIBLE BUT IT'S NOT PART OF OUR DOCTRINE."

THAT IS THE ABSOLUTE SADDEST THING THAT I'VE EVER SEEN.

AND I'LL TELL YOU WHAT, YOU BETTER GO WITH GOD

AND NOT DOCTRINE, AMEN.

[AUDIENCE CHEERING]

JOYCE: WELL, I'M TAKING WAY TOO LONG WITH MY OPENING

SO I DON'T KNOW, YOU MAY HAVE TO GET PART TWO TOMORROW.

AND I'LL TELL YOU WHAT, AFTER I WAS BAPTIZED IN THE HOLY SPIRIT

I HAD ABOUT 3 OR 4 WEEKS AND THE FIRE OF GOD HIT ME.

AND YOU SAY, "WELL, WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY THAT?"

WELL, I MEAN GOD JUST STARTED MESSING IN MY BUSINESS.

AND I MEAN, IT WASN'T STUFF THAT I WANTED HIM TO GET INTO.

BUT I COULDN'T SEEM TO KEEP HIM OUT.

AND LET ME TELL YOU SOMETHING, IF YOU WANNA GO ALL THE WAY

WITH GOD AND I GUESS I'M ASKING TONIGHT IS THERE ANYBODY

IN HERE WHO WANTS TO GO ALL THE WAY WITH GOD?

OR DO YOU WANNA STAY ON THE STUPID FENCE?

IT'S TIME TO GET OFF OF THIS FENCE AND MAKE YOUR MIND UP

WHERE YOU'RE GONNA STAND.

WE DON'T NEED TO WHISPER WHEN WE TALK ABOUT GOD.

NOW, WE DON'T NEED TO GET OUT IN THE WORLD AND ACT LIKE IDIOTS

BUT WE DON'T NEED TO ACT LIKE WE'RE ASHAMED OF THE GOD

THAT WE SERVE.

IT'S TIME.

IT'S TIME FOR US TO SHINE.

AND YOU KNOW, SOME OF YOU, WHAT I'M SAYING TONIGHT'S TEARING YOU

APART 'CAUSE YOU KNOW IT'S GONNA REQUIRE SOME BIG DECISIONS

OUT OF YOU.

LET ME TELL YOU SOMETHING, THERE IS SO MUCH SLOPPY LIVING IN

THE BODY OF CHRIST, AND I--OKAY, WE'LL SAY IT'S NONE OF YOU

BUT MAYBE IT'S SOMEBODY WATCHING ON TV.

[AUDIENCE LAUGHING]

JOYCE: BUT IT'S TRUE.

AND WE SHOULDN'T BE LIKE THAT.

WE NEED TO WANT TO BE LIKE CHRIST IN EVERY AREA

OF OUR LIVES.

"AND YOU'LL BE TESTED WITH FIRE, THAT YOU MAY BE [TRULY] WEALTHY,

AND WHITE CLOTHES TO CLOTHE YOU AND TO KEEP THE SHAME

OF YOUR NUDITY FROM BEING SEEN, AND SALVE TO PUT ON YOUR EYES,

THAT YOU MAY SEE."

IF YOU NOTICE IN VERSE 18, HE SAYS, "I COUNSEL YOU TO PURCHASE

THESE THINGS FROM ME."

WELL, HOW DO WE PURCHASE THESE THINGS?

NOT WITH MONEY, BUT BY LAYING YOUR WILL ON THE ALTAR

AND SAYING, "GOD, YOUR WILL BE DONE AND NOT MINE."

I LAY MY LIFE ON THE ALTAR AND I WANT WHAT YOU WANT,

EVEN IF I DON'T LIKE IT.

LISTEN, I TELL GOD ALL THE TIME, "YOU DO WHAT YOU WANT TO IN

MY LIFE AND, IF YOU HAVE TO, YOU TIE ME TO THE ALTAR BUT DON'T

YOU DARE LET ME GO UNTIL YOU'VE FINISHED DOING WHAT YOU WANNA DO

IN ME, BECAUSE I DON'T WANT TO BE ANYTHING OTHER

THAN WHAT YOU WANT ME TO BE."

VERSE 19: "THOSE WHOM I [DEARLY AND TENDERLY] LOVE, I

TELL THEIR FAULTS AND I CONVICT AND CONVINCE AND REPROVE

AND CHASTEN [I DISCIPLINE AND I INSTRUCT]"

NOW WATCH THIS.

"SO BE ENTHUSIASTIC."

ENTHUSIASTIC.

[AUDIENCE CHEERING]

JOYCE: YOU'RE GONNA LEAVE AND SAY, "I HEARD THE BEST MESSAGE

TONIGHT I'VE EVER HEARD IN MY LIFE ABOUT GETTING OFF THE FENCE

AND INVITING THE FIRE OF GOD INTO YOUR LIFE."

"BE ENTHUSIASTIC AND IN EARNEST AND BURNING WITH ZEAL AND

REPENT [CHANGING YOUR MIND]"

YOU KNOW, REALLY, YOU KNOW WHAT SALVATION REALLY IS?

YOU DON'T JUST SAY, "I WANT JESUS."

WE'VE TURNED ALTAR CALLS INTO SOMETHING DIFFERENT

THAN WHAT THEY SHOULD BE.

AND TO BE HONEST WITH YOU, I DON'T EVEN SEE

AN ALTAR CALL IN THE BIBLE.

I MEAN, WE'RE REALLY JUST TRYING TO BRING PEOPLE TO A DECISION.

BUT THE BIBLE SAYS, "IF YOU BELIEVE IN YOUR HEART AND YOU

CONFESS WITH YOUR MOUTH THAT JESUS IS LORD AND THAT HE

WAS RAISED FROM THE DEAD, YOU SHALL BE SAVED."

BUT LET ME TELL YOU SOMETHING, REPENTANCE MEANS YOU CHANGE

YOUR MIND ABOUT HOW YOU'RE GOING TO LIVE.

YOU CHANGE YOUR MIND AND YOU'RE GONNA GO IN A TOTALLY

DIFFERENT DIRECTION.

AND SO I WANT SOME REPENTANCE IN THIS PLACE TONIGHT.

AND THOSE OF YOU THAT ARE WATCHING BY TV,

YOU CAN FIND YOUR OWN ALTAR.

MAYBE YOU NEED TO JUST BOW DOWN WHERE YOU'RE AT

AT HOME RIGHT NOW.

LET'S COME TO A POINT WHERE WE SAY, "GOD, YOUR WILL BE DONE

IN MY LIFE.

NOT MINE, BUT YOUR WILL BE DONE."

BE ENTHUSIASTIC SO I CAN GO ON TO THE NEXT POINT.

[AUDIENCE CHEERING]

JOYCE: 2 TIMOTHY 3:1 THROUGH 5:

"BUT UNDERSTAND THIS, THAT IN THE LAST DAYS WILL COME (AND SET

IN) PERILOUS TIMES OF GREAT STRESS AND TROUBLE [HARD TO DEAL

WITH AND HARD TO BEAR]"

GREAT STRESS, GREAT STRESS.

LET ME TELL YOU, WE LIVE IN TIMES OF STRESS, TIMES THAT

ARE DIFFICULT AND HARD TO BEAR.

AND WE CANNOT USE IT AS AN EXCUSE TO BE UNGODLY.

"FOR PEOPLE WILL BE LOVERS OF SELF AND [UTTERLY]

SELF-CENTERED, LOVERS OF MONEY, AROUSED BY AN INORDINATE

[GREEDY] DESIRE FOR WEALTH, PROUD AND ARROGANT

AND CONTEMPTUOUS BOASTERS."

I MEAN, THE LIST IS JUST AWFUL.

VERSE 3: "[THEY WILL BE]

WITHOUT NATURAL [HUMAN]

AFFECTION (CALLOUS, INHUMAN), RELENTLESS, SLANDERERS

(TROUBLEMAKERS, ACCUSERS), UNCONTROLLED, FIERCE,

HATERS OF GOOD."

AND YOU KNOW, WE'RE THINKING, "MAN, THE WORLD IS A MESS.

YES, JOYCE, THAT'S THE WAY THE WORLD IS.

THE WORLD IS A MESS."

VERSE 4: "[THEY WILL BE]

TREACHEROUS [BETRAYERS], RASH, INFLATED WITH SELF-CONCEIT.

[THEY WILL BE] LOVERS OF SENSUAL PLEASURES AND

VAIN AMUSEMENTS MORE THAN AND RATHER THAN LOVERS OF GOD."

UH-OH.

VERSE 5: "FOR [ALTHOUGH]

THEY HOLD A FORM OF RELIGION--" DO YOU THINK HE'S TALKING

ABOUT SOME CHRISTIANS?

"FOR [ALTHOUGH]

THEY HOLD A FORM OF RELIGION, THEY DENY AND REJECT AND ARE

STRANGERS TO THE POWER OF IT [THEIR CONDUCT BELIES

THE GENUINENESS OF THEIR PROFESSION]"

IN OTHER WORDS, GO TO CHURCH ON SUNDAY AND ACT LIKE EVERYBODY

ELSE ON MONDAY.

I DID IT FOR YEARS AND YEARS AND YEARS.

I MEAN, I TELL YOU WHAT, I COULD BE SO SPIRITUAL AROUND

MY CHRISTIAN FRIENDS.

PRAISE THE LORD; THANK YOU, JESUS; HALLELUJAH; GLORY TO GOD.

WE BRING SACRIFICE AND PRAISE.

[AUDIENCE LAUGHING]

JOYCE: BUT I TELL YOU, I WASN'T SACRIFICING AT HOME.

LET ME TELL YOU SOMETHING.

IF THERE WERE TWO PIECES OF MEAT ON THE PLATTER, I TOOK THE BEST

ONE AND I GAVE DAVE THE WORST ONE.

[AUDIENCE LAUGHING]

JOYCE: C'MON, SELFISH, SELF-CENTERED CHRISTIANS.

DON'T ACT LIKE YOU DON'T DO THAT KIND OF STUFF.

[AUDIENCE LAUGHING]

JOYCE: DON'T EVEN ACT LIKE IT.

HIDE THE LAST PIECE OF CAKE FOR YOURSELF.

[AUDIENCE LAUGHING]

JOYCE: THEN GO TELL EVERYBODY YOU DON'T EAT DESSERT.

CHRISTIAN LIARS.

[AUDIENCE LAUGHING]

JOYCE: OKAY, HERE'S WHAT HAPPENS.

WE'RE SUPPOSED TO BE LIGHTS.

BUT IF I GOT DIRT ALL OVER MY BULB--NOW SEE,

I GOT A LIGHT IN ME.

I'M BORN AGAIN BUT IT'S NOT HELPING ANYBODY ELSE BECAUSE

I'M ALL CAKED OVER WITH ALL THIS JUNK FROM THE WORLD

THAT I HANG OUT IN ALL THE TIME.

AND THIS DOESN'T HELP ANYBODY OR AFFECT ANYBODY AND EVEN IF

I KIND OF RAMP IT UP AS HIGH AS I THINK I CAN GET IT, "MAN, I'M

NOT ONLY GOING TO CHURCH ONCE A WEEK, NOW I'M GOING TWICE A WEEK

AND I SING IN THE CHOIR AND I'M AN USHER, A GREETER AT THE DOOR.

WHOO, LOOK AT ME, CHRISTIAN, CHRISTIAN.

AND I'VE GOT A BUMPER STICKER AND A PAIR OF CROSS EARRINGS

AND ALL OF JOYCE'S BOOKS."

SO WHAT?

[AUDIENCE LAUGHING]

JOYCE: I'M GONNA TRY REAL HARD.

I'M GONNA TRY REAL HARD.

BUT WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU INVITE THE FIRE OF GOD INTO YOUR LIFE?

[AUDIENCE CHEERING]

JOYCE: AND YOU KNOW, IT STARTS OUT A LITTLE--LITTLE

FIRE, LITTLE MORE LIGHT.

LITTLE MORE FIRE, LITTLE MORE LIGHT.

LITTLE MORE FIRE, LITTLE MORE LIGHT.

OH MY GOD, I DON'T THINK I CAN TAKE ANYMORE.

LITTLE MORE FIRE, LITTLE MORE LIGHT.

LITTLE MORE FIRE, LITTLE MORE LIGHT.

LITTLE MORE FIRE, LITTLE MORE LIGHT.

WOW, ALL OF A SUDDEN, I'M BEING--AFFECTING PEOPLE

AND PEOPLE'S LIVES AROUND ME ARE CHANGING, AMEN?

[AUDIENCE APPLAUDING]

JOYCE: OKAY, NOW LET ME TELL YOU SOMETHING.

JESUS IS COMING BACK.

[AUDIENCE CHEERING]

JOYCE: AND YOU KNOW WHAT?

I'VE MADE A DECISION AND I'VE TALKED TO GOD ABOUT THIS.

I'M MAKING A COMMITMENT TO START TALKING ABOUT THAT MORE

IN MY PREACHING.

I'M NOT SAYING I'M GONNA START PREACHING ON END TIMES ALL THE

TIME, BUT I AM GONNA--I'M GONNA KEEP REMINDING PEOPLE JESUS

IS COMING SOON.

JESUS IS COMING SOON.

DO YOU KNOW, THAT THEY TALKED ABOUT THAT ALL THE TIME

IN THE NEW TESTAMENT?

PAUL TALKED ABOUT IT ALL THE TIME.

PETER TALKED ABOUT IT ALL THE TIME.

IT'S--THE BIBLE'S FULL OF IT.

IN 1 THESSALONIANS EVERY SINGLE BOOK, IT TALKS ABOUT HOW JESUS

IS COMING BACK SOON.

THEY LIVED NOT SITTING ON THE FENCE BUT THEY LIVED ON FULL

ALERT, ON GUARD, READY, DOING THE VERY BEST THAT THEY COULD

TO SERVE GOD WITH THEIR WHOLE HEARTS BECAUSE THEIR PREACHERS

WERE CONSTANTLY TELLING THEM, "JESUS IS COMING BACK SOON.

JESUS IS COMING BACK SOON."

LET ME ASK YOU A QUESTION.

WHAT WOULD CHANGE IN YOUR LIFE IF YOU KNEW FOR SURE THAT JESUS

WAS RETURNING IN 3 DAYS?

I ASKED MYSELF THAT QUESTION LAST WEEK.

AND THERE WAS ONLY ONE THING THAT I THOUGHT

I WOULD NEED TO CHANGE.

AND YOU KNOW WHAT?

I'M NOT TELLING YOU THAT TO IMPRESS YOU.

I'M TELLING YOU THAT BECAUSE I'VE HAD THE FIRE OF GOD IN MY

LIFE AND, LET ME TELL YOU WHAT, IT IS NOT EASY

BUT IT IS WORTH IT.

I'VE HAD TO WALK AWAY FROM A LOT OF THINGS AND SPEND A LOT OF

TIME BY MYSELF AND BE JUDGED AND CRITICIZED AND, OH MY GOSH, YOU

DON'T EVEN WANNA KNOW WHAT ALL I'VE GONE THROUGH TRYING TO GET

FROM WHERE--I MEAN, JUST TRYING TO LEARN HOW TO BE A SUBMISSIVE

WIFE I THOUGHT WOULD KILL ME.

JUST ABSOLUTELY, TOTALLY, COMPLETELY

ANNIHILATE ME AND KILL ME.

[AUDIENCE LAUGHING]

JOYCE: AND YOU'VE HEARD MY STORIES.

I MEAN, YOU'VE HEARD ME PREACH HOW I LAID ON THE FLOOR ONE DAY

IN MY OFFICE AND HUNG ON TO THE LEGS OF MY DESK BECAUSE GOD

WAS TELLING ME THAT I NEEDED TO SUBMIT TO DAVE ABOUT SOMETHING

AND I WAS, "OHHHHH."

[AUDIENCE LAUGHING]

JOYCE: I MEAN, I DID THIS.

I SAID, "GOD, PLEASE HELP ME TO DO YOUR WILL

AND NOT RUN AWAY FROM YOU."

LET ME TELL YOU SOMETHING, YOU BETTER GET RADICAL.

DO YOU KNOW WHAT?

YOU WILL GET SO HAPPY IF YOU WILL GET YOUR MIND OFF YOURSELF

AND GET TOTALLY FOCUSED ON JESUS.

YOU WILL GET SO HAPPY IF YOU GET YOUR MIND OFF YOURSELF

AND SPEND YOUR DAYS THINKING ABOUT WHAT YOU CAN DO

TO HELP SOMEBODY ELSE.

GET OUT IN THE WORLD AND SHINE.

YOU SAY, "I DON'T KNOW WHAT I'M CALLED TO DO."

YOU'RE CALLED TO SHINE.

SEE, I'M CONCERNED THAT IF WE DON'T MAKE A DECISION THAT

THINGS ARE GONNA SLIP UP ON US UNAWARES.

THIS IS WHY PAUL TAUGHT THE PEOPLE ALL THE TIME:

"BE WATCHFUL, BE ON YOUR GUARD, DON'T BE DECEIVED.

HE'S GONNA COME BACK LIKE A THIEF IN THE NIGHT," AT A TIME

WHEN PEOPLE ARE COMFORTABLE AND JUST GOING ABOUT THEIR BUSINESS.

YOU KNOW, WHILE YOU'RE ON YOUR SOCIAL MEDIA AND YOU'RE TAKING

SELFIES AND YOU'RE HASHTAGGING EVERYTHING AND CHECKING OUT

PINTEREST AND CHECKING OUT WHAT I DON'T KNOW, YOU KNOW,

I CAN'T KEEP UP WITH ALL OF IT.

BUT YOU KNOW, PEOPLE ARE SO CAUGHT UP IN THAT TODAY.

AND IT'S A GREAT TOOL OF COMMUNICATION BUT LET'S USE IT

FOR WHAT IT IS, AND DON'T LET IT CONTROL OUR LIVES AND TAKE US

AWAY FROM THE THINGS THAT WE SHOULD BE DOING.

[AUDIENCE APPLAUDING]

JOYCE: MARK 13:31: "HEAVEN AND EARTH WILL PERISH AND PASS

AWAY, BUT MY WORDS WILL NOT PERISH OR PASS AWAY."

IT'S ALL GONNA BE GONE SOMEDAY BUT THIS.

AND IT WON'T COME IN THE FORM OF THIS BOOK.

IT'S GONNA COME BACK RIDING ON A WHITE HORSE.

[AUDIENCE CHEERING]

JOYCE: WITH FIRE IN HIS EYES AND A ROBE DIPPED IN BLOOD WITH

THE NAME WRITTEN ACROSS HIM, "THE WORD OF GOD," AMEN?

"HEAVEN AND EARTH WILL PASS AWAY, BUT MY WORD

WILL NEVER PASS AWAY."

I'LL TELL YOU ANOTHER MISSION I'M ON AND I DON'T INTEND

TO SHUT UP ABOUT IT.

WE ARE GONNA HONOR THE WORD OF GOD,

RESPECT THE WORD OF GOD, STUDY THE WORD OF GOD,

BELIEVE THE WORD OF GOD, STAND STRONG FOR THE WORD OF GOD.

BUT I'LL TELL YOU WHAT-- [AUDIENCE APPLAUDING]

JOYCE: WHEN I FINISH TONIGHT, IN REVELATION WHERE THE BIBLE

SAYS, HOO, WHAT'S GONNA HAPPEN TO ANYBODY WHO TRIES TO ADD TO

THE BOOK OR TAKE AWAY FROM IT, OH, MAN, WE BETTER BE CAREFUL

'CAUSE WE'RE LIVING IN DAYS WHERE THAT'S ABOUT TO HAPPEN.

AND YOU CAN'T START TAKING STUFF OUT OF THE WORD OR ADDING STUFF

TO THE WORD.

THAT'S IMPORTANT TO GOD.

MARK 13:31, VERSE 32: "BUT OF THAT DAY AND HOUR NOT A [SINGLE]

PERSON KNOWS, NOT EVEN THE ANGELS IN HEAVEN, NOR THE SON,

BUT ONLY THE FATHER."

SO REALLY, DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME READING STUFF THAT TELLS YOU

WHEN THE WORLD'S GONNA END.

THEY DON'T KNOW.

YOU KNOW WHY GOD'S NOT GONNA TELL US WHEN?

BECAUSE HE WANTS US TO LIVE READY.

HE WANTS US TO BE READY ALL THE TIME.

WE SHOULD BE READY EVERY DAY, NOT THINK, "OH, I'M GLAD HE'S

COMING BACK ON SEPTEMBER 30.

NOW, I'VE GOT 12 MORE DAYS TO GET READY."

[AUDIENCE LAUGHING]

JOYCE: WE'RE GONNA LIVE READY.

LIVE READY.

"BE ON YOUR GUARD [CONSTANTLY], AND WATCH AND PRAY;

FOR YOU DON'T KNOW WHEN THE TIME WILL COME.

IT'S LIKE A MAN [ALREADY]

GOING ON A JOURNEY; WHEN HE LEAVES HOME, HE PUTS HIS

SERVANTS IN CHARGE," THAT'S US, "EACH WITH HIS PARTICULAR TASK,

AND HE GIVES ORDERS TO THE DOORKEEPER TO BE CONSTANTLY

ALERT AND ON THE WATCH."

EVERY SINGLE ONE OF US HAVE AN ASSIGNMENT FROM GOD.

EVERY ONE OF US HAS AN ASSIGNMENT FROM GOD.

SOME ARE MORE FOCAL ASSIGNMENTS, SOME ARE MORE LIKE PLATFORM

ASSIGNMENTS, BUT MANY, MANY, MANY ASSIGNMENTS ARE LITTLE

THINGS THAT NOBODY BUT YOU AND GOD KNOW THAT YOU'RE DOING

BUT WHAT YOU'RE DOING IS JUST AS IMPORTANT

AS WHAT SOMEBODY ELSE IS DOING.

AND WE ALL NEED TO DO IT WITH JOY.

[MUSIC]

JOYCE: WELL, IT'S TIME FOR US TO NOT COMPROMISE, GET OFF THE

Accounting for Beginners #81 / Paying a Shareholders Loan Back / General Ledger / Widget INC #9 - Duration: 14:24.

yo yo yo yo yo yo yo what's good that's five years I'm pumped up today I'm

feeling good I'm feeling super fresh let's go ahead then dirty I'm pumping

water blessed life get out do something today get out do something today okay do

something yourself don't just sit there come on have a blessed day have a

blessed night get up tomorrow let's go what do you do I'm CPA strength I'm a

strongest licensed CPA in the state of Florida what do you do I teach the world

over accounting by basic building blocks by building lines by building blocks by

building blocks I happen to have one of the best playlists add the best

playlists in the whole world right here it's an accounting playlist it's it's my

classic series oh it's really it'll make our dreams come true it's biodegradable

you go friendly its everything good and it's nothing bad and it has it will have

in part of this part of this is the classic series yeah boy Jack's why I'm

strongest I might be one of the strongest mentally to but I don't know

about that but this is number 81 all right

accounting for beginners AFB it's my classic series number 81 we're paying

alone back this is also like I don't know if seven or eight of our or I guess

services no nine because we're our nine month so this is our ninth this is our

ninth journal entry who then what do we do after that you know what do we do

anything what's the board's chart of accounts general ledger then what's that

third board balance sheets and income statements this is a game you got a

ninth time ninth journal entry ninth time going over this and then I hope you

guys like this smash that like button if you be liking this so I know I didn't

keep making more um also you can you know leave a comment down below if you

want to do something in the video sale for would you think I'd like to do this

and then you know if it works and I know how to do it it make sense to me I'll

put it in there because that would be like super fun because I guess that's

what happens to me a lot is that I get like like a I'll look I'll look at the

QuickBooks file and it'll say what happened in the bank account so obvious

I'll look at the bank statement and something will happen and I have to

decipher you know like on the flyer would what happened to the financial

statements and whatnot anyways enough of that come on sorry sorry about that what

do we do and this is DCA ler this is real the real spill the real oh this is

the real spill right here all right this has helped thousands and thousands of

people learn accounting and and like progress past accounting classes get a

job because it's really a mapping system of I think all really the most important

stuff so there it is like encompassed right there anyway what we're doing now

is I woke up this morning I was like you got here what a blessed life right I get

to come here do my favorite thing this is like the

first time I'm talking today so it's fun because I I'm writing these boards and

I'm thinking what am I gonna talk about today this is the first time I'm talking

and I get to go to the gym with one of my best friends after this if it shows

up which but that's why he's known as juicy as me right yeah so what a blessed

life so I was thinking what are we going to do let's say now we're we're wearing

the Hat of would you tink I thought of this an area widget incorporated pays

loan from shareholder back in the amount of $3,000

so widget so yeah you read that so so then you'd see that you just say okay if

it was someone like a client of yours widget Inc and you're working on him and

you didn't know what's going on right way to cover today's launch loan from

shareholder back here under $3,000 well I mean you look you look at like the

chart of accounts is there a loan from shareholder on the books you look at you

look on the balance sheet and yeah you can see there was one for $10,000 so you

click in they say then you click in again and you

you being your general ledger and you co double $10,000 was this is how this

account was created on one 115 the first day of the year the shareholder in you

guys - there's the only one shareholder so you don't have to really put it just

but it was it was me Jonathan Dorn loan widget Inc $10,000 so

you'd see that's what happened so then you'd see widget ain't paid this loan

back the amount of $3,000 it's the only loan in the book so that's how you would

know that it was this loan that was loan from shareholder

decreasing so what would the journal entry be I've already talked long enough

this is 93015 I've already done many many like journal entries paying a loan

back I think fairly recently so it should be fairly decent video I don't

know well you just go over this real fast let's follow the money you pay

somebody back that's where the Hat of which incorporated you pay somebody back

$3,000 so check your counter cash is an asset it's decreasing so an asset if

it's increase in to them and so it's decreasing I mean yeah so if it's

decreasing it's a credit so credit checking account for $3,000 and it is an

asset what's the debit for that well I could

put $3,000 in because you know doughnuts equal credits and you're reducing you're

reducing a liability because you owe somebody you're liable you owe them

$10,000 but you're reducing that so it's a lot loan it's the loan from

shareholder account so you put that in there and to liability if it was in if

the liability was increasing you would credit but the liability is decreasing

so you would debit it so that's the journal entry for pain alone from

shareholder back and in the amount of 3,000 is debit loan from shareholder

3,000 it's liability Kretsch that can account $3,000 and it's an asset let's

go as an export that looks like it's going to work hopefully everything we

can see everything yes I'll work on this just a guy can I do so much tremor on a

daily video or on that's my most important thing daily videos and good

account make every accounting video better than the last one so let's go

what did we do right there let me look at my thing loan from stroller and

trekking account those are the two accounts that we just messed with did we

already have those on the books are in our chart of accounts to make our

journal entry and stuff like that and yes we did you know we had to check an

account because we've been had that we use that every every month except in

August we did not use it because we had a accounts receivable an IOU instead of

getting cash I'm still haven't gotten that money back as you can see because

it's still in our books well you'll see that in the next board anyways the other

one we use checking account yes and long from shareholders and we had both of

those who didn't have to make any new accounts in our chart accounts well if

we already had them here before there's probably some activity in them before is

there I don't know let's see so in our checking account yes there's

lots of activity except every month this month was 9:30 September 30th 2015 and

we had negative $3,000 in our checking account so that leaves our total check

at our checking account right now is in our general ledger it's our subset of

our charter accounts what's in in in the account so that's 5,000 and the loan

from shareholder account it was $10,000 we just reduced it by $3,000 so it has a

balance of $7,000 so so now I want to go up let's go I got a couple minutes let's

next board oh my god okay I kicked the can everything is going so good positive

positive Rio I don't when this is coming out but this is September 1st so it's

just a month of positivity for me we finish this board up okay what happened

what do we do we get our loan from strand holder and our checking account

so okay this this is cool I wanted to hurry up and I got a couple minutes with

the income statement and balance sheet for what happened here and I think this

is where you want to analyze this is where I thought I'd be cool and maybe a

little bit of laziness because none of this changed so I don't know let's just

see what happened what did we do we wet counts were affected the checking

account asset account balance sheet and it also affected the loan from

shareholder account which is a liability which is on the balance sheet so notice

we didn't so those two accounts are both balance sheet accounts does not affect

the income statement at all see that because there's no yes you're paying a

loan back you're not working in the ordinary course of business see when I

started out with that's the tough distinction like is it service revenue

or is a pain alone back or is it getting a loan like but I think you just do

enough and GP on GP on games played so it didn't affect the income statement

say I want you guys to go slow and notice things like things like that that

are important and so you would know but that doesn't affect the income statement

so it you did have we did having an income of 9000 we still do now at the

end of September with this with this journal entry see this was ten thousand

so this got reduced to seven thousand this was a what five thousand got

reduced to two thousand so see all this stuff now you might say so balance sheet

assets equal liabilities plus equity so the assets what are you having your

assets now you have two thousand dollars checking account but see you have asset

$16,000 I don't know if you don't know what you're like sixteen thousand

that's a lot that's great like I started with zero now I got 16,000 I'm rich I

mean I've been open for nine months I made $16,000 it's like facepalm

I mean you are doing good you made nice house knowing profit but it's like

there's so many factors I think one factor is look at their like how liquid

are you buddy what's your cash like do you have 2,000 you got $2,000 like

homing I mean you gotta keep doors open first of all so but anyways so you got

$2,000 liquid checking account four thousand dollars fixed asset truck and

then then you got $10,000 somebody owes you so that's a big thing that's a big

stressor now because you have $2,000 in your checking account

so you don't have enough for bills but then you have this other guy that that

owes you $10,000 that you're now suddenly last on the list so you're like

well I'm gonna start not be able to pay people because you owe me all this money

and it's just you know it gets crazy but that's the happy happy business owner

you know it's all fun and games right it's easy you know it's like you kind of

yearn for that that nine-to-five sometimes you know not all no I like I

love the entrepreneurial it's for me maybe it's not for everybody what else

you want to talk about so yeah so that journal entry when we did loan from we

paid a when you pay the shareholder back loan from shareholders didn't change the

income statement just change the balance sheet and assets equal liabilities plus

equity so if if we reduced see look how that works basically so you have like a

balance sheet right assets over here assets over here whatever and

liabilities and equity you reduced 3,000 over here and you reduce 3,000 over here

if you reduce 3,000 asset you reduce 3,000 liabilities so it's even still so

it still balances anyways that's uh that's a FB 81

I think I'm liking the it's like I was really liking this one today like I

didn't know what I was gonna do um it seems it happens fairly often that you

know this would be like well you're paying the shareholder back via the

person who loaned you the money says I need some money back now I need my money

like and then you're like well when the guy from accounts receivable pays me

back anyways man just stay stay positive let's do something with ourselves

whether it's not stay stagnant I try to have some kind of positivity in the

beginning I don't know if we kept that in well we got to stay positive this is

the month of September September 2017 hopefully this month changes my life I

think it will because my the YouTube channel is getting traction I'm having

record views record sub days like every day now and I'm so blessed for that plus

I said in in September 2017 I'm just positive thoughts and it's hard whenever

a negative creeps in my head I think about what makes me happy and I just

folk fixate on what makes me happy instead of what's making me sad deuces

The Secret To Finding Confidence To Get On a Sales Call - Key To Success - Duration: 4:23.

Do you struggle with getting confidence and courage to get on those sales calls? In

today's video we're gonna talk about some real sales strategies they're going to

help you get on that call. Welcome to another episode of the S word where I

make sales simple and fun! My name is Renee Hribar speaker, sales strategist and

author of the upcoming book Sell Like A Mother. Now let's dive in. Here is the

number one thing that you can do today that will help you get on those calls so

that you feel like you're chatting with a friend and not persuading a prospect.

Here it is, common ground. Now how do you find common ground? What does that mean

exactly? It means how do you find other things in common

aside from, in addition, to just business. Like do you both have kids? Do you both

like cats? Do you both have iguanas that's interesting. What sports do you

have in common? What interests do you have? Do you like to travel?

Do you like RV-ing, camping, hiking, biking, swimming? You get my point. So find some

sort of common ground in addition to just business because bottom line people

only buy from who they know, like and trust. And you are so much more than just

what you do for a living. Is your work important? Oh yeah. Is there work

important absolutely and you want to hear all about it but you have to find

common ground first. So whether you're meeting in person or in a Facebook group

or on LinkedIn, thank You social media for giving us all the opportunities to

get to know people in all their dimensions not just their title that's

on their business card. So once you find common ground I want you to say oh my

goodness I love meeting you! I can't believe I found someone else who loves

dolphins and Croquet! Sure! That's amazing I have to excuse myself

but I would love to continue this conversation, can we exchange numbers? I

know you gave me your card is that the best number to reach you at? I would love

to just do a quick call I'm doing this might not be good in person make a quick

call next Tuesday at 10:30? I mean you can throw out a time what that you might

know that you have available or you're like let me look at my phone, Google

Calendar thank you do do do, hey I have next Tuesday at 10:30 for like a

couple minutes just if just for a quick chat. Again you don't need to name it. You

don't have to formalize it. Don't make it so hard to do make it super easy and

simple and non-committal and they say yeah 10:30 next Tuesday

works great is this the best number to reach you at and like literally show

them their card and like oh no that's my office here's my cell like oh great let

me punch that in or if you have your phone you can literally hand them your

phone and say if you just put it in and all this text to the details

I'll just call you we'll just hang it we'll just have a quick chat. From that

quick chat you're making friends so many things are happening at this point and

this is where you start to talk to them like your friend and not just a

potential prospect and this is where people start to fall in love with you.

And they're like this is great. This person is on my side. We have things in

common. They get me they get me. They see me. They see my problems. They're not just

here to sell me something they're here to ask me questions and help me solve my

problems. That's what people need. They're willing to pay for that! That is the good

thing and then you can actually help them solve their problems. So if this

strategy is something you can use right now I want you to write in the comments

yes or ask me the question, what other strategies have you tried? Have you tried

this and it didn't work? I'd love to hear more about it! Now this is just one of a

series of strategies that I'm going to be going over so you're gonna want to hit

the subscribe button I'm coming back every single week with a brand new

strategy you're going to want to put into effect to get those sales! Now if

you want to up level your game you're going to want to grab that sales training

that I have while it's still free! Can't wait to see you next time I appreciate

your time have a great day!

How To Write A Book (Documentary) - Duration: 22:27.

I'm not— I'm not worried about...

I'm not worried about the book, I'm not worried about the deadline.

I'm worried about telling people I wrote 2,000 words and them not understanding.

Maybe that's the point—the public accountability.

Like, the fact that I feel bad that that's all I have to report is the point.

But I know that I still did some good stuff today.

It just didn't result in what looks like a lot of words.

I finished up two or three chapters, and that feels good.

Narrator: I've heard of a lot people say they want to write a book, but never have I heard

of someone with a mission of writing three books in one month.

And that's exactly what Sean McCabe set out to do.

Sean: I'm Sean McCabe.

I'm writing three books right now to help people build and grow a sustainable business.

It's basically doing what you love without all of the cliches of doing what you love.

It's the practicalities, it's the real-life stuff, it's the making money stuff.

It's actually helping people with the real world struggles and not just the dream aspect

of doing what you love and following your passion.

Narrator: Monumental goals have always intrigued me, but this seemed a bit out there.

Was it possible?

Three books in one month?

Sean sure seemed to think so, and that was the most intriguing part to me.

In fact, in an interview I had with him, Sean told me that he didn't ever have any doubts

in himself—even though he had never written a book before.

Was this ignorance?

Or determination with a plan?

Sean received a lot of questioning about his plan to fully write three books in one month.

Most were uncertain how the books could actually be good

if the process of writing would be so seemingly rushed.

But Sean believed that a month wasn't actually rushing it; just getting it done.

The idea for these books; that is, overlapping from working a day job to turning your side

passion into a business, was not an idea that he had just come up with one random day.

The more I dug into why he was writing these books, the more I wondered what was behind

the concept for these books.

What was Sean's motive?

That's what I wanted to find out more about.

In the fall of 2015, Sean and I agreed that the month of July 2016, when he would write

his first book, should be documented.

Sean: Day 1 of 30: writing three books.

So 10 days per book.

My goal for each day is 8,000 thousand words.

So roughly 80,000 words per book, pre editing.

It may be less.

You know, maybe it ends up being 60,000, maybe it's 70,000 but that's my goal.

And this was the first day.

I have to say, the hardest thing is getting started.

I prepared so much for this.

You know, months leading up to this.

I was going to bed early, I was getting getting a good amount of sleep, and waking up early.

I was running in the morning, and for me it was very important to chain together all of

these habits.

This wasn't going to be a success unless I started early—unless I made sure I was disciplined.

It's not about—it's not about running, it's about discipline.

Kevin: I'm a procrastinator by nature, and I know that I can get something done in a

pretty short span of time.

But to my detriment, I would put things off because I knew I could do that.

But I work well under pressure, and I see Sean—similar things.

I think he did something like that.

He set a deadline for it, made it a public deadline, and basically put a lot of pressure

on himself, I think, to perform.

So, I think that's one of his...

I don't know if it's technique or a trick... but just to—you have to deliver.

Laci: The whole concept of overlapping has been something that Sean has recognized the

power of for years.

He's always overlapped, you know, from working for someone else doing window washing, to

having a web design firm, to being a hand letterer, to having a computer repair business,

and then doing what he does now.

The idea of bootstrapping I think comes from having a no-debt mentality.

Like, just operating without debt to him automatically meant he was going to bootstrap the business.

Sean: People were concerned.

We were hearing comments from people saying, "Writing three books in a month?

How can the quality be that good?"

And you have to understand, I've been writing a lot—every single day for several years now.

Right now, I write an average of about two million words a year, and that's without even

really trying to.

I mean, I do try, but in bursts—for things like courses, emails, newsletters, podcast

outlines, blog posts: I'm doing a lot of writing, and I've got to the point where I don't have

to edit too much.

I really do write and say what I mean to say.

I'm not rambling too much, and I think going into the book writing process, I just heard

so much that people say, "Just ramble, dump out the words, and edit it down," and I found

that that wasn't happening.

I feel like this is 95% of the way to a final draft.

And I was kind of editing as I went.

I found myself changing words, and I know that does hurt my speed a little bit, but

I also feel like this is really close to what it's going to be, and that feels really good.

I think the biggest thing—the biggest hinderance for people accomplishing their big goals—is

they give themselves too much freedom.

They give themselves too much time.

You've got to get your back against the wall.

It doesn't make sense to write three books in a month, but I'm going to do it.

It's day one, but I know I'm going to do it because that's what I set out to do.

That's the time frame that I gave myself.

Kevin: Apart from the smarts, he has tons of confidence.

He believes in himself, he believes in what he's pursuing and...

sometimes maybe to a detriment?

I remember a youth group deal where there was a guy—like the most muscular—I think

it was maybe the youth leader even.

I mean big biceps.

Sean's strong, he can do some stuff, but this guy out looked him.

Anyway, and so he... they were talking about doing pull-ups at some point.

So this guy says to Sean, "How many pull-ups can you do?"

And Sean I just looks him in the eye and says, "More."

Donna: That's so Sean. Kevin: That's the kind of kid he was.

Kevin: I don't know if he actually pulled it off or not, I'm not sure.

Donna: I don't know.

Kevin: But he has that kind of confidence though.

Narrator: He had one of the most interesting minds that I had ever met.

It wasn't uncommon for me to feel like I was holding a camera in front of someone whom

the majority of the world would soon know.

Off camera, we had several conversations about his great vision with everything that he's

building toward.

It gave me goosebumps.

I had no doubt I was talking to a world-changer.

Kevin: To me, Sean—he could be the next Bill Gates or Zuckerberg or any other name

you pick out that's somebody that's built an empire.

But he doesn't have to be that.

He's already successful, and if all he did was "coast", so to speak, with this business

or whatever he is, I'd be happy for him.

Laci: Sean says he really believes that the world is a better place when people get to

do what they're passionate about.

And I know for me, I'm kind of just starting this journey of finding my passion and doing

what I'm passionate about too and I know that he's kind of the ultimate person

who's shown me that, with the right focus, you can

achieve the goals that you want to achieve.

Because of the things that he does and wants to do, he's really supportive of anything

that I want to do as well, and he kind of knows how to... the advice to give me and

how to help me achieve my goals too.

Cory: How'd it go today?

Sean: Today was good.

Very productive.

I added more chapters: "Full Price or Free".

I was like, "I have too many things about money."

Yeah, I had a lot of money stuff that I wanted to talk about and I had one chapter that was

just about money and I started writing, and I was like, "This is way too much to fit into

one chapter," so I broke it up a little bit.

I've been getting pretty consistently six hours, sometimes a little bit less than six

hours of sleep, and that's been okay, but I guess seven days in a row wasn't cutting it.

And I don't know... just last night I wasn't able to sleep very well.

I woke up multiple times and, you know, by the time 4:30 AM rolled around, I was like,

"I can't do it."

Actually before it rolled around, because I kind of woke up several times, I just set

my alarm back a little bit.

Ended up getting up at 7:30 AM.

So I don't know, I think I can do six hours but I guess once a week I need a little bit more.

So I was doing 8,000 words a day to start.

My first day was almost 10,000 words, then I had a couple 8,000 days, and...

then the whole "consolidating three books into one" thing happened.

Sean: So the biggest struggle came on day four because, as I was writing this book,

developing the outline, I realized: this should be one book.

I was thinking it was for three different people, but

it's for the same person at three different stages.

I realized I'm making them do work to have to figure out: Which book's for me?

Which one do I pick up?

Do I need all three parts?

And I said, "That's doing a disservice to people."

So I need to turn all of this into one book, and that was a big deal for me.

Kevin: Honestly, no I never had to worry about Sean.

He's got a good mind, he's got a good heart.

He surrounds himself with good people.

So it's like, he can't fail.

I mean, there might be temporary setbacks, but there's no ultimate failure.

And Sean—if he does fail—he's just going to take it as a learning opportunity or a

stepping stone to the next thing.

So...

I just see him as unstoppable really.

Donna: I do worry a little bit about him maybe putting a lot on himself.

He has taken on some rather daunting tasks over the last several years.

You know, including writing that book.

But I think he knows his limitations.

Sean: So originally, I was going to write 8,000 words a day for the whole month because

that's what I was going to need to be able to write three full books.

But now that it's one, everything's going to be consolidated, it's going to have three

parts, and the second and third part are going to be a little bit shorter.

So I don't need to write as many words now, so I have more time in the month,

and I've also been writing a journal entry every single day.

That's sometimes a thousand or 2,000 words that I'm not including in my normal word count.

And that, along with live streaming video recaps every evening—it's been taking between

three and five extra hours to do that.

So in the beginning, I was putting in 18-hour work days and it was just really intense.

So I changed from 8,000 words a day to just saying, "Write as many words as I can by 3:00 PM."

And... it is four o'clock.

So I have not written a journal entry.

Cory: That's not good. Sean: I need to do that.

Cory: I should let you get to that. Sean: Well you wanted to have a meeting!

Cory: I did! Yeah, we had a meeting.

I should let you get to that then.

Sean: Yeah, gotta go write a journal. Cory: All right. Do it.

Sean: In my mind, I thought I was writing three books when I started and it ended up

being one book.

And the thing that frustrated me the most was the story.

Telling that story—that frustrated me.

Like, "This ruined the story!"

You know?

It's just a messy process.

It doesn't make sense.

When I explain it later to people, they're going to think, "What do you mean one book

used to be three books?" and I'm thinking about this perfect story that I need to tell

people and I was frustrated that it ruined the story.

But I guess it's ultimately a good thing because it illustrates that the process is messy.

Narrator: Sean began to plan how he would merge these three books into one and drew how much

each concept would take up in the book.

He had been doing daily live streams that were well thought out and well produced, and

he would prepare them at the end of his book-writing sessions every day.

Laci: He would write all day for the book, and then he would write this whole

documentation process of writing a book in such a short time.

He would just talk about how much he wrote, and how focused he was during that time, and

how hard it was, or what went wrong, or what went the way he wanted it to during those

times, and then he would just talk about it on the live stream and just share that whole experience.

Donna: I appreciate the things that he's accomplished and that he's sharing with other people and

especially in this family, how everyone looks up to Sean.

He's a good role model.

He's a good example to all of the rest of his siblings.

And I think whether he knows it or not, and whether he meant to or not,

he even inspires them.

Kevin: Mhmm.

Donna: I imagine there's a lot more of that out there than he's aware of.

Narrator: I was blown away at just how much he put into everything he did.

Not only is he accomplishing such a feat as writing a book, but he would also share what

he was learning and how he was going about writing his book in a way that

people could follow along.

He just loved teaching what he knew and being of value to people giving him their time.

One of the many ways he did this was with his weekly podcast: the seanwes podcast

along with his co-host, Ben Toalson.

Every week, Sean and Ben would record a podcast helping people and answering questions related

to business and creativity.

Ben: I love thinking out loud and because I'm kind of a slow typer... "typist"?

Anyways...

Narrator: The podcast started in 2013 and Sean and Ben continue recording weekly podcast

to this day.

Ben: When I first contacted Sean, he had just started his podcast, and I was wanting to

talk business and design stuff with him.

I was calling him up complaining about my clients.

Like, "I'm working with this person, and I can't believe they're doing this thing and

it's so frustrating..."

And over the past few years of us talking about this stuff, he's really changed my mindset,

and because of that, you know, getting to work with clients I really enjoy, doing

work that I'm really proud of.

Narrator: And then on day 15 of writing his book, Overlap...

Sean began his morning routine.

After several months of preparing for this intensive task, hours upon hours of hands

against the keyboard, he did it.

75,862 words, 14 video live streams, 14 journal entries, 26 chapters, and one first draft later...

Sean had written his first book.

He was telling me how he wanted to stay committed to updating people.

I suggested that he take a break.

Sean: But that's the update people need: the last update (which is today).

So I also need to write that.

So I need a lot of time to do that.

Narrator: At first it almost seems like Sean had an inability of acknowledging

the great accomplishment that this was.

He had just finished writing his first book and it seemed like it wasn't a big deal to him.

But it was because of how future focused he was by nature.

He always saw when there was more work to be done.

Where most people would celebrate, he would continue doing the grind.

Sean: So the reason you can write 10,000 words in a day like I'm doing here, is because

you give yourself too much time.

You give yourself so much time that you procrastinate.

I can't procrastinate.

I literally cannot afford to procrastinate.

So I have to get all the distractions off.

I have to say, "I can't check my email, I can't check Twitter, I can't check Snapchat,

I can't look at my phone, I can't send text messages, I can't have people coming in the door."

You know, I have to communicate with everyone.

I have to communicate with the people on my team and tell them when I'm going to be available.

And I think if people gave themselves less freedom, they'd actually accomplish more.

Ben: I guess to any normal person, that would be pretty crazy.

Like, oh, just in two weeks, write a book.

I wouldn't think the average person— which I should have known...

Sean's not the average person.

But he had just been writing consistently for so long, the message was so clear in his

mind that I think when he sat down for those two weeks—like it was challenging, it was

intense—but it wasn't like it was difficult for him to come up with what he wanted to

share with people.

That message was already clear in his head.

Donna: For most people, it's just such a daunting thing to think about writing a book at all.

Much less six months or three months.

And here he pulled it off in two weeks.

It's just... it's a phenomenal successful thing that he did.

But it also shows that when you put your mind to something, whatever it is, you can do it.

Kevin: It is a big deal that your kid has written a book... the biggest thing it does

for me is not knowing that there's a book out there with my son's name on it.

It motivates me to think there could be a book out there with my own name on it.

Because I have books in my head...

Donna: Me too. Kevin: I just need to get them out.

Kevin: Yeah, both of us do.

We have a lot of experiences, a lot of knowledge and wisdom that we've picked up along the

way, and what shame to hold it to yourself.

It motivates me to—and not in two weeks but at some point—get a book out there!

Donna: Sean definitely has a heart for other people, and making life easier, and showing

the steps, showing the way.

Once you've done something, there's so much fulfillment in bringing somebody along and saying,

"Hey I've already paved this path. Just walk right here and it'll be good for you as well."

Narrator: It took me a long time to uncover why he was really writing this book.

But after looking back on his life, it was clear.

If you've been paying attention, it's obvious: he's writing it because he loves solving problems

and doing things that make logical sense and sees a problem in the world that he can fix.

Sean wants to see a world full of people who know how to follow their passion and he knows

that completing this book was a significant step towards that.

But he isn't finished yet.

Sean: So I will say I've finished writing the book... my work's not done though.

Cory: Is there anything else that you'd like to add?

That you just... that you'd like to see be in the interview?

Ben: Yeah. Would...

"Would Sean be who he is today without me and my influence?"

Probably not...
