Mascherano & Tevez Help Take Argentina to Football Gold at Athens 2004 | Olympics on the Record - Duration: 5:44.

Argentina was among the founding members of

the International Olympic Committee,

and sent a team to Paris in 1900,

the second Olympic Games of the modern era.

But it wasn't until 1924 that Argentinian athletes

first tasted Olympic Gold.

That came in the sport of polo,

long since dropped from the Olympic programme.

Argentinians won at least one gold at every Game after that,

until 1952. After that, nothing.

Argentina sent 1,076 athletes to 11 Games over 52 years

without ever hearing the beloved national anthem.

Other much smaller nations triumphed over the course

of that half-century, but not Argentina.

They may have had one of the best Formula One drivers

in history, Juan Manuel Fangio.

They may have had tennis players who won Masters like

Guillermo Milas and Gabriela Sabatini.

They may have also won two World Cups in dramatic fashion.

But between 1952 and 2004, Argentina mustered only

nine silvers and eight bronzes.

One group of Argentinian athletes were hot favourites

to triumph at Athens 2004.

It was those athletes

playing Argentina's national sport, football.

The Olympic football tournament had plenty of bright stars

that year, Andrea Pirlo, Asamoah Gyan, Tim Cahill

and Daniele De Rossi were mixing it up with a young kid

who was already making waves at Manchester United -

an exciting young man named Cristiano Ronaldo.

But Argentina also had a host of names who either were

or would become global superstars -

Roberto Ayala, Javier Mascherano,

Gabriel Heinze and Carlos Tevez, to name a few.

And this group of young men soon showed the world

why they were the favourites.

Game one.

They demolished Serbia and Montenegro 6-0.

As the tournament went on, Argentina turned on the style.

Argentina scored so many goals on their way to the final

that it was almost as if

they were being judged on artistic merit.

Gonzales with some artistic flourish

that we have come to expect,

that will score highly with the judges.

And there it is, Carlos Tevez, so graceful once again,

showing why he's so popular.

Saviola now with just his finish left

and then a dismount, and he's done it beautifully!

Oh, simply magnificent.

It's all well and good playing beautiful football

and scoring a load of goals,

but Argentina had another hero on the pitch back then.

German Lux,

aargh!

German Lux, the young goalkeeper from River Plate,

may not have been the most well known,

but he was on his way to a unique achievement.

Lux played every match,

but never had to pick the ball out of his own net.

Some games were harder than others.

But a lot of the time he could afford to take it

a little bit easier in goal.

Even as the tournament progressed,

the games were supposedly getting harder.

It was almost as if he was taking the old football saying

"Park the bus" a little too literally.

After storming the semifinals 3-0 against Italy,

it was all down to the final.

Carlos Tevez made sure

he was going to be the Golden Boot winner

early on with his eighth goal of the tournament.

Then it was over to...

German Lux.

If ever Argentina needed to park the bus, it was now.

They're only just thinking about parking the bus.

They should have done that before the match.

No, they mean defend. "Park the bus" -

it means to put all of your players in front of the goal.

What, what about the bus? Where's it parked?

Jan, there is no bus.

Then how will they get home?

He might not have had the most strenuous of finals.

He may have even tried to spice it up a bit.

But when it really counted, Lux was the difference,

determined that he would be part of a perfect side.

As the final whistle blew, the team of young players knew

just what they had achieved -

the first Olympic Gold for Argentina in 52 years.

It was also the first Olympic success

for a nation of footballers, the only trophy the country

had not won in its illustrious footballing history.

Played six, won six. 17 goals scored, none conceded.

A perfect tournament by anyone's standard.

Go on, play that tune. It's been a while.

dark background using the rectangle tool and then lock me in place

we now need to add a typography on to the design I'm using a font called

mostarda

turn the typography into an actual vector shape go to type and curry

outlines you can then ungroup the lettering to

adjust the layout of your typography until you see fit the next step is to

unite everything in the path on the window

using the auto option key duplicate your text because we're going to need a copy

later

at this stage do not adjust the size or the layout of her biography as they need

stroke behind the fill

top you can hold down shift to select multiple lines at once and change the

stroke way with just one click

so here is how your Vintage typography design should look in Adobe Illustrator

then with the three line selected only outline the stroke

you can then use a direct selection tool to adjust the line into place for your

so here's my vintage typography design so far in Adobe Illustrator we have just

a few finishing touches to make our unlock everything and then relock the

background layer only

select your design and bring it to the front and then pulao with the typography

copy and place it behind in a way that's going to add like a shadow

change the color to a dark brown and then stay tuned for the finishing touch

I changed the background color my design to light brown you can use a direct

selection tool to change the shadow to the car with the background of the

design better this is going to help tie the vintage typography designed together a

whole lot more

lastly we can add a drop shadow in Illustrator to the typography

it may take a while for you to get the effect right by adjusting the settings

but use the preview option and change the settings until you're very happy

36 rare facts about Metallica (ADVANCED!) Andriy Vasylenko - Duration: 9:12.

Hi frrriends! It's Andriy Vasylenko.

Metallica turns double adult.

And today I want to share with you 36 rarest facts about Metallica:

about their songs, albums, shows, the band's history in general – stuff that goes far beyond Wikipedia.

Some of these facts went from my personal observations

ya know, I'm nerd

So you probably will not find that sh*t anywhere else.

If your knowledge of Metallica is a bit deeper than basic

if you know what's 'wha-na-na' and 'I am the table' – this video is for you.

But even if you're a newcomer, it's not going be a problem.

So, let's get to it: 36 things you might not know about Metallica.

"The new Metallica bassist"

Roberto Agustín Miguel Santiago Samuel Trujillo Veracruz

has already spent with the band almost 15 years.

The day when he outlasted Jason was May 15th, 2017.

Although Jason left the band on January 21st 2002, he took the decision a few months earlier

when James made it clear: no side projects. It was September 27th 2001:

exactly 15 years after the loss of Cliff.

'Bass solo. Take one.'

This phrase has become legendary.

But in fact, Cliff recorded 6 or 7 takes, each being completely different.

'For Whom the Bell Tolls' intro is leading bass, you do know it.

But not many know, there are 3 different bass tracks there:

Btw, the bell sound was not a bell nor another bass effect.

That's an anvil.

You all remember how Robert smashed everybody with his flamenco, that gave birth to 'All Nightmare Long'.

But swapping instruments is a normal thing in Metallica' songwriting process.

For example, James wrote the bass riff from 'Devil's Dance' and insisted to keep it that way.

Of course, there's guitar stuff by Cliff. And also Lars could come up with melodies orally.

What Lars did on 'And Justice for All' has inspired many

But actually, Flemming Rasmussen had to make lots of tiny cut-and-glue's there, to even out his drumming.

Kirk's only duty (up to Load) was recording his solos.

That's why there's no Hammett on 'Nothing Else Matters': everything that's guitar was on James.

It's funny that there're no lead parts on St. Anger, but Kirk participated in every song there.

At least, he tried.

Metallica didn't have much time to polish 'Orion' because they got it together right before recording.

Basically, they had only the interlude, and a couple of Cliff's sketches that later made up the first section.

The final bass solo from 'Orion' was initially an extension of Kirk's part.

Cliff changed it a bit, wrote harmonies, and adjusted to his bass.

The next one Youtube might not like: it's about how they picked up girls in 80th.

The working title of The Black Album was 'Married To Metal'.

You know, that's because Lars, Kirk and Jason got divorced in the process of making it.

In 1993, Metallica planned an EP to conclude the huge tour in support of The Black Album.

This EP could've been titled

'Nowhere Else To F*cking Roam... Nothing Else To F*cking Play'

Speaking of touring, Metallica has visited more states and territories than practically any other artist – 63.

Only restless Scorpions beat them with 72 countries.

Metallica had two the most distant performances in North-South direction:

Carlini base show in Antarctica (2013) was the Southernmost

and live Tuktoyaktuk in Canada (1995) – the Northernmost.

The distance between these places is 134 degrees! (of 180 possible).

Minor dominates heavy. Thereby, a metal song in major key happens very rare.

Metallica used it a few times: in Hero of the Day, Low Man's Lyrics, ManUNkind and Damage Inc intros.

Cliff adored classical music and played around it.

Guys heard those variations, and proposed to use them in songs.

This is how 'Fight Fire with Fire' intro came up. It's Cliff's variation on 'Minuet in G' from XVII century.

Variation that became 'Damage Inc.' intro' turned out less recognizable.

it's based on Bach's etude 'Come Sweat Death'.

Load's album design was the first which all members of the band contributed to.

For example, it was Kirk's idea of the artwork, and he proposed to name it

'The Delicate Sounds of Metallica'

Now I see why Lars and James used to be in charge of everything.

'2х4' was initially just a working title of the song which meant '2 riffs played 4 times in a row'.

There's only one Metallica song featuring slap.

Although Rob Trujillo is the funk boss, this technique was used by Jason Newsted in 'Cure'.

He confirmed this in one interview, so it's no more just a guess.

Load was, perhaps, the most innovative Metallica record:

slide guitar, slap, fretless bass, electric organ, major key, talkbox solo, Kirk's rhythm parts...

Nevertheless, drums innovations were yet to come.

'Bleeding Me' is now considered a classic in Metallica's discography.

But the first amount of times it was played, some fans were faking throwing up

as a sign of rejection to the change in sound and style.

After 'Garage Inc', Metallica was asked a lot about what their next record's gonna sound like.

James had just become a father, so they assumed that he would write brighter lyrics.

They joked that the next album would be about flowers and puppies...

For many years James told that his favorite album was 'Ride the Lightning'.

S&M happened two more times after an epic San Francisco performance.

They teamed up with an orchestra again in November 1999, in Berlin and New York.

Only one of 94 members of San Francisco orchestra turned out to be a Metallica fan.

It was a tattooed harpist who, can you believe it, sometimes played with a pick.

Nobody in Metallica had a clue about 5 time signatures in Master of Puppets, until Michael Kamen told them.

As Jason said, "We just knew it like 'chika-chika-chika-chika'"

And now - NERD INTENSIFIES!

Total amount of riffs in Metallica songs – about 660.

So, an average Metallica tune contains 5-6 riffs.

The most riffed Metallica record was St. Anger: 85 in total, 8 per song.

The least riff-loaded albums were Load/Reload: 55 each, 4 per song.

On studio recordings, James said 'yeah' around 150 times

And 'fuck' with its derivatives – 12 times

(plus a hidden one in Bell Tolls, perhaps, by Cliff)

Metallica has the biggest following on Facebook among metal bands

After some calculations, I found out that a new Metallifan is born every 12 minutes roughly.

And, finally, what does the word 'Metallica' actually mean?

n Latin and Italian, it is the feminine form of the adjectives 'metallicus' and 'metallico' respectively.

So, if to literally translate 'a metal band' to modern Italian, it's 'le banda metallica'.

They were meant to become the greatest.

Connecting objects for animation in Blender - Duration: 1:16.

Hello guys, Daan Miles here welcome to my new video

in this one I will show you how to connect objects

when you want to use them in animation

When I started using blender I connected object by parenting everything to the biggest part of the model

or to the empty.

his worked grate for me until I tried to animate that.

When you animate parented objects, everything separate

and behave like they are not connected, so, we need to fix this problem and to be honest it is easier than you think.

Select everything that you want to be connected and go to the physics tab on the left side of the screen

now click connect button.

Be sure that connect type in this drop down menu is set on Fixed.

Let's try our animation again.

As you can see, it works flawlessly.

Objects doesn't separate after hitting some obstacle like in the previous example.

At this point, so many of the Hollywood elite celebrities have made it clear that they do

not want Trump supporters watching their movies.

Now we get to add Robert De Niro to that list.

De Niro, a longtime friend of sexual assaulter Harvey Weinstein, had some sort of crazy breakdown

on stage during the Annual Hudson River Park Gala where he started rambling about benches

then BLEW UP on Trump.

"One of my pleasures will be keeping people off my bench who don't deserve a view of

the park like Donald Trump."

"F–k you, Donald Trump.

It's a horror with this motherf—er."

Now, the reason that he was talking about park benches in the first place was that the

Gala was thrown do celebrate them dedicating park bench to De Niro.

I guess he thinks he can ban people from sitting on it?

He is so wrong…

In fact, I think it would be pretty funny if some Trump supporters in MAGA hats went

and visited the Hudson River Park (located at 353 West St, New York, NY 10014) and take

some pictures on De Niro's beloved bench.

Oh, and while we are at it, let's quit watching his junky movies anyways.
