Youtube daily report w Oct 16 2017

Hey! What's up?

Today I'll talk about procrastination!

What is procrastination?

I think this word sums up all Brazilians

To procrastinate is to postpone something,

"I can do it later"

Who hasn't ever done it?

It's when we have a deadline to do something:

work, reports, exams, homework...

then we leave it for the last minute

so we try to do everything in a hurry

and we always have that sensation

"If I had started it earlier it would be a lot better

Hey! Calm down!

Don't feel guilty! Procrastination is natural!

Since the ancient times it was hard to find food

So, what did they do after eating?

Sleep! Save energy!

Because they would run out of food and

soon they had to go for it once again

Animals are like that: "Eat and Sleep"

Eat

Sleep

Eat

Sleep

Eat

Sleep

Eat

Sleep

Are we animals?

YESSSS!!!!

Are we irrational?

NOOO!!!

The way the world is today I prefer the pandas

It's impossible not to like pandas.

Procrastination is natural, but it's not good

You always postpone your tasks for the next day...

and the day never comes

How to overcome procrastination?

You want to start a new activity

Gym

a new language

an instrument

But you never start it

You feel lazy when you think about it

I know how it is

We were all in these shoes

I started 2 things about a year ago

and they have been helping me with that

Here you are they:

First: Do less, but do it!

I will explain

You'd love to go to the gym,

but you're lazy to get up early or to go out

Solution:

You woke up and you are lazy to go out

even to get up

What do you do?

You're already in bed, so...

Do some abs exercises

You are lying down, you just have to...

try to stand up.. you can't, then go back

try to stand up.. you can't, then go back

"Hey, I've already done 3 crunches… 4..."

You are doing it!

Check with some instructor if it won't hurt your back!

You are lying down, you turn over...

You fall on the ground...

then you do some push-ups

You've gotta read a book. Instead of thinking:

"F*****g s***, I have to read a book… Laziness!"

Procrastination!

Instead of reading the whole book,

Read only 2 pages per day

You need only 3 minutes

Suddenly the amount of pages and workouts will grow by itself

which take us to the next category

Number 2!

Second thing: Create goals

Daily goals

weekly goals

Monthly goals

For exemple, I love learning languages!

But i don't like traditional lessons,

Language schools

Also the money you've gotta spend on it

I listen to podcasts and audio lessons

I also study with free language apps

so you can learn by yourself

"Oh boy, I'm so lazy to learn it by myself"

Do you know what I do?

I listen to these lessons when I'm

cleaning, waiting or in the bus,

in lines, driving...

If I'm in the subway, I do some apps exercises

For instance, I study 30 minutes a day

In one week it's 2 and half hours

It's almost 10 hours a month

In 6 months it'd be 60 hours of studying

It's almost 3 days doing that activity

Suddenly you are doing it! ;-)

Think small to become big!

It's like a plant growth

You can't notice that it's growing and then...

What a piece of wood

There's a study that says you can do everything you want

after 5 thousand hours doing that thing!

It means you know well this thing through experience!

Small steps, but strong ones!

Slowly the information gets inside you

and suddenly it's part of you

You'll see how fast you will learn

That's all folks!

I hope you reach your goals

Father John Misty - "When the God of Love Returns There'll Be Hell to Pay" [Live from Atlanta] - Duration: 4:57.

♫ When the god of love returns

♫ There'll be hell to pay

♫ Though the world may be out of excuses

♫ I know just what I would say

♫ Let the seven trumpets sound

♫ As the locust sky grows dark

♫ But first let's take you

♫ On a quick tour of your creation's handiwork

♫ Barely got through the prisons and stores

♫ And the pale horse looks a little sick

♫ Says, "Jesus, you didn't leave a whole lot for me

♫ If this isn't hell already then tell me what the hell is?"

♫ And we say it's just human

♫ Human nature

♫ This place is savage and unjust

♫ We crawled out of the darkness

♫ And endured your impatience

♫ We're more than willing to adjust

♫ And now you've got the gall to judge us

♫ The spider spins his web

♫ The tiger stalks his prey

♫ And we steal fire from the heavens

♫ To try to keep the night at bay

♫ Every monster has a code

♫ One that steadies the shaking hand

♫ And he's determined to accrue more capital

♫ By whatever means he can

♫ Oh, it's just human

♫ Our human nature

♫ We've got these appetites to serve

♫ You must not know the first thing about human beings

♫ We're the earth's most soulful predator

♫ Try something less ambitious the next time you get bored

♫ Oh, my Lord

♫ Oh, my Lord

♫ Oh, my Lord

♫ Listen

♫ We just want light in the dark

♫ Some warmth in the cold

♫ To make something out of nothing

♫ Sounds like someone else I know

🇪🇸 T-SHIRT TO DIY FLAMENCO T-SHIRT DRESS | SEVILLA CULTURE COUTURE | T SHIRT TRANSFORMATION EP 12 - Duration: 7:36.

Hi DIY Diva

Today I'll show you how to transform these two t-shirts into a flamenco inspired dress

I wore in Sevilla in Spain

It's quick, easy and you don't need a sewing pattern for this

For this look you'll need 2 t-shirts, fabric scissors, an elastic

sewing pin holder, thread, bobbin case, lace fabric and a sewing machine

You can find all these sewing ingredients in the description box

Cut the sleeves and the top of the first t-shirt Then cut the middle

Fold your elastic so it matches the width of the top and cut it

Sew the beginning and end

Then place a fitted skirt on top of your shirt and cut the shape

Pin the top sides

Grab your lace fabric and fold it double

It's twice the width of my top

Sew the beginning and end and hem the bottom

Grab your elastic and pin it at the beginning and end of the lace

then pin it all in between so you can sew it easily on top

Fold the top over and sew it with a zig zag stitch and pull both pieces while sewing so it fits

Place it on top of your top and pin it all around

Then sew it with a zig zag stitch

Turn the bottom to the right side

I also sewed the beginning and end of the other piece of lace and then I pin it at the

bottom

Pin the outside first, then fold it in between and pin it

When you finished you can sew it

Turn your top to the wrong side and then place it on top of the bottom

Pin the top all around and then sew it

Do this and you're done

And this is the final look, a flamenco inspired dress you can make with t2 t-shirts

If you enjoyed this tutorial, subscribe for more videos, like this video and share it

with all your friends

Thank you so much for watching and tune in tomorrow for Sevilla travel tips

How To | Build the Ultimate Adirondack Chair - Duration: 16:22.

So I'm about to knock out my next set of Adirondack chairs and I've done a few

build videos of these in my typical style but I figured it'd be worth doing

more of a how-to type video explaining kind of the process behind what I'm

doing and more of the detailed stuff that you wouldn't typically get in one

of my videos so I've actually got eight chairs I got to build now I'm guessing

that's gonna take me about a week or so well let's get to it

so I'm starting out here with my rough stock I use five quarter by eight it's a

Western redcedar clear vertical grain it takes approximately 30 lineal feet per

chair and I get this all rough sawn from the lumberyard and plane it down to

thickness myself so from a five quarter board I can get this down to a one inch

finished thickness for the chairs let's get these guys plane down

got these all planed down to an inch-thick now the best part the free cedar mulch for

the flowerbeds

I make to many of these I actually got a dedicated storage area within the miter saw station for the template

this chair has been specifically designed to minimize the amount of waste material on

these 8-inch wide boards a lot of pieces kind of fit together like puzzle pieces

when you're laying them out if you're really careful I just find the best

pieces for the arms because those are kind of the focal piece and those

getting the most beating on as well now these arms are a good example of that

really efficient layout you can flip it around upside down and they kind of nest

together then you just need to leave like at least an eighth of an inch maybe a

little bit more for the blade when you're cutting between the pieces

pretty repetitive process especially for this big of a batch of chairs but

basically just go through that whole process kind of nesting the pieces

together as best you can through all these boards and then I cut them down to

a more manageable size if I can get a straight cut across I'll use my cordless

skill saw and if I need to cut between curved pieces I cut with a jig saw. I just

get them cut down small enough so I can bring them inside and cut them down to

the final shape

now any pieces that have flat edges on them will get cut on the table saw so

when I'm laying those out I like to cut one edge flat first and then rip it down to

whatever rough size and I trace those pieces out so I can cut the curved parts

of it on the bandsaw so these main leg pieces here are a little under five and

a half inches so I'm gonna set the table saw to five and a half and then I'll rip

this board down. so now this piece will be a couple of those back legs and the

remainder should be big enough for a couple of back slats

so I always start with the largest pieces first like the arms and these big back

legs here kind of lay those out first and then all the smaller pieces can fit

around them like this arm support is a good example I could fit it in here

around this leg

one of the great things about design of this chair is that while some of the

dimensions are pretty crucial as far as like the height of the legs and things

like that some are more cosmetic dimensions really where you can kind of

fudge them a little bit in if you have to go a little bit smaller to get a

piece instead of throwing that in the scrap pile you can do that one good

example is this arm support bracket here the width of it is not super crucial so

I can fit this piece on here lose about a quarter of an inch now as long as I

use the same size piece on both sides of the chair and there's a pair of them you

won't be able to notice between the different chairs other pieces where you

can do that are the legs as long as you get the height of them right the width

if it's like an eighth of an inch or so off that's all right so I find that that

just helps out a ton with the layout process so now I have all the legs

done the back supports the leg supports and it's just a matter of cutting all of

the back slats and the seat slats which is pretty repetitive it's just a matter

of cutting these boards down to width and then cutting them to length because

they're all basically just rectangles except for the back slats but I just cut

those as rectangles and then cut the top curve on them on the bandsaw later so I

got a little time to go

alright I got a layer of cedar sawdust on me I'm calling it a day. I got all the

pieces cut out so tomorrow is going to be a matter of cutting these all down to

finish size and sanding off the round edges smooth and I'll also start rounding

over the edges on the pieces

alright so day two I'm working on cutting all these pieces down size all

the curves are cut on the bandsaw and then all the straight edges are either

cut on the table saw or on the miter saw most of the rectangular pieces were

already cut down the size when I was cutting everything out yesterday but

there's a few that still have some straight cuts on so all I do is cut an

eighth to a sixteenth of an inch or so outside of the line and then I'll sand

it in to the line outside curves are done on the disk sander and then the

inside curves are done on the belt spindle sander alright let's get to work

All 240 pieces are now cut down to size. It's time to move them over to the sander to

bring them down to the line and bring them all smooth let's start with the

disk sander for the outside curves

So now you can see all the outside curves are looking good

gotta move to the inside curves we'll do that on the belt spindle sander

so next thing on the list we move over to the router table to round over the

edges on all of the pieces for the chairs some edges you round over both

sides some is just one and some you don't round over at all. It's all lined

out in the plan. I just use this 3/8 inch roundover bit it gives you a nice even

shape around all the edges of the piece because of some of the shapes used in these

chairs you get some funky grain patterns you gotta be careful when you're cutting

these round overs I'll usually do climb cuts when I'm going against the grain

and then when you're going with the grain it's just like normal and then

I'll go back and clean it up with a normal cut

So now the pieces are all sanded shaped down the sides with the corners

around it over it's a matter of just doing some pre drilling for all the

screws they're gonna fasten these chairs together all of the holes I use just a

regular countersink bit to pre-drill except for the front and back legs that

use a carriage bolt to fasten them together

I used quarter inch carriage bolts and I drill a 5/16 inch hole is to give it a

little bit of room to assemble before you tighten it up the only pieces I do

not pre-drill are the arms and I will drill those holes during assembly so

first I'll mark all these holes out and then I will head over to the drill press

so all the other chair parts are just simply marked and drilled except for

these seat slats because there's so many of you gets pretty repetitive drilling

out these holes so I made this little plywood jig here that fits these slats

in there perfectly so it seats it right in the right location to pre-drill the

hole that way I can just pre-drill one side spin it around do the other side

and then move on through the seat slats so now we go to the best part

alright so now all the pieces are sanded down and ready for finish. The finish

I use is a spar urethane It's an exterior grade clear coat finish the first coat

is applied just with a rag and I wipe it on this way I can get all six sides of

all the pieces before I assemble them then after assembly I'll spray on

another two coats of the spar urethane and that will build up the finish and

make it really durable this technique in particular is really good because it

gets inside all the cracks and crevices that normally if you applied the finish

after the assembly you wouldn't be able to get to those and a lot of these

services that you aren't able to reach our end grain like the ends of the legs

and where the legs connect to the sea even with something like cedar it'll

last but this will prolong the life even further

now we're on to the the good part of actually putting these guys together all it takes

is a drill and a screw gun and I use these two inch stainless steel square

drive screws to fasten everything together except for the front legs which

I use some carriage bolts so first assembly we're gonna put together is the

backs of the chairs and then we'll go from there. Now notice that only one side of

these back slats is actually rounded over I don't think I mentioned that

during that process but you want to make sure you have enough left hand and right

hand back slats when you're rounding over those pieces so I make sets of

back slats before I round any of the corners over so for assembly the

square back support goes on the bottom and the rounded back support goes on the

top. You start by lining all the back slats even with the bottom of the back

support piece and then Center it within that piece I start by screwing in the

center slat and then work my way out from there

so next is attaching the top back support either side of this can be the

top so you want to look at it and determine which side is going to be the

show face and then put that side towards the top of the back. I pull the slats

apart a little bit to make sure that this back support is lined up right in

the center of this hole and then I Center all those slats together on this

back and fasten the center slit in place then are you gonna do is spread these

out evenly the farthest out slat goes to the edge here and then the rest are

distributed evenly in between those so that's the first assembly completed you

can see how you get that rounded back that really feels good when you're

sitting it

so the next sub-assembly to go together are the front legs these are put

together from two pieces you have the actual front leg and then the support

piece for the arms just a few the stainless steel screws will hold it

together but you want to be careful because you need to make sure that

there's equal number of left and right hand legs together these 3 holes

here are what attach the back legs to the front legs and this single point

here points toward the back of the chair next step is to attach the back leg to

the front leg with these three holes so the assemblies put together using three

of these two and a half inch galvanized carriage bolts the front leg goes on the

outside of the back leg so I start by inserting three bolts through the front

legs then it's just a matter of lining these up and inserting them into the

back leg too then you can install the three washers and the three nuts so for

now I just tighten these up as much as I can get them with my fingers

this will allow me once I get the whole chair assembled together to have a

little bit of movement to square the legs in reference to each other and

then I crank down on these tight so now I have my tower of sub assemblies these

are all ready to go together and just a matter of fastening the backs to the

legs and adding the rest of the pieces I wanna make sure that I have my drills

and screws ready because this is a very awkward maneuver to get these together

and I gave you nice wide shot so you can see the awkwardness and all of its glory

so the backside is fastened in place with two screws in either side down into

the legs so next is these back support pieces there's two per chair one for

each side and to fasten them in place there's two pre-drilled holes and use

that to line up a piece and make sure it's tight with this back side now these

are one of the pieces that I tend to pre-drill prior to assembly because

screwing into this end grain they have a likelihood to correct so the top is

all set next is fascinating the bottom in place and since I use 2-inch screws

and one-inch thick material which is 2 layers thick here I pre-drill at a

slight angle to keep these from poking out from the other side now you want

this back edge to be set off three and a half inches from the back of the leg and

about 1/8" of an inch up off of the ground so then you just copy and paste on the

other side so next we turn the chair around and all of these seat slats can

be installed so first this back most slat is fastened in place

tight against the back slat next I install this top slat here tight against

the back of the front legs then these two shorter slats are fit between the

two front legs and spaced evenly away from this previously installed slat then

these five remaining slats are just spaced evenly within the remaining space

and since I'm awesome I just space these out evenly by eye. Now all of these seat

slats are installed the last two pieces are the arms now with Western red cedar

there tends to be a pretty big variety in color of the pieces between the light

and dark brown so the two pieces I'd always make sure that match very close

are the arms because if they contrast too much it really does look off these

are simply installed with two screws through the back support piece into the

arm and then 3 screws here directly down into the front leg back two screws

are installed first and then the front of the arm can be centered on top of the

leg these 3 these are pre-drilled and then it's

fastened in place you also always want to pre-drill these back to fasteners

otherwise they'll crack

so the final step in the process is applying the last few coats of finish

as you saw before the first coat I just rub on with a rag but I do three more final coats

sprayed on of spar urethane an HVLP sprayer would be ideal but any air powered

sprayer will work I've all the chairs set up on sawhorses here they are

flipped upside down I do the bottom first

and then flip them up right and then I can do 3 coats of finish on the top

which is all the show surfaces and all the surfaces that are going to be

exposed to the weather so I've just gone through and sanded all

these chairs with a 400 grit sandpaper this brings down the finish really

smooth I'll do this between every coat and then apply the next coat of finish. I

let that dry overnight before going to the next coat. Alright so our last coat

of finish is dry now just to wrap these up we need to tighten the carriage bolts

that are holding two sets of legs together. I want to reference this

against a flat surface from the flattest service in my shop is my table saw so

I'm gonna go through and set each chair on top of my table saw and make sure

there's no wobble in either direction. If there is I'll work the twist out of the

chair by pushing it flat and then tighten the carriage bolts on either leg

and tightening these bolts will lock everything in place and then we're done all

done they're getting picked up in the morning which is good because

hey there thanks for watching if you like build some of these for yourself I

do have plans available on my website. And a big thanks to Albany County Fasteners

for sponsoring this build. I get basically all of my hardware from them. They

specialize in stainless steel fasteners but they carry basically anything you'll

be looking for. You can order in quantities from single units up to bulk orders

where you get some really great pricing per unit. Like these Adirondack chairs that you

just saw me built I get all my stainless steel screws in bulk from them as well

as the galvanized carriage bolts. I'm gonna drop a link down below they just

launched a brand new website last week to make it even easier to order. I'm

sure you have some empty peanut butter jars to fill up we'll see you next time.

Roger Corman's The Wasp Woman: Review - Duration: 5:15.

Welcome back to my Dark Corner of this Sick World

'I got 2 words for you - drop dead - twice'

We're back with Roger Corman for The Wasp Woman.

A film that pretty much does what it says on the tin.

Eventually. It does take the whole damn movie.

'Just relax and sleep'

The basic plot is simple, mad scientist Dr Zinthrop has used the royal jelly of wasps to create a youth formula

'Already I've learned to slow the process of aging.

Soon I shall be able to reverse it entirely.'

which comes at the perfect time for cosmetics tycoon Janice Starlin,

whose sales are dropping because she's the face of her firm and she done got old.

'Not even Janice Starlin can remain a glamour girl forever'

The Dr gives her the formula but weird shit is now happening to one of the test animals.

Unaware of this Janice sneakily takes a concentrated dose.

What happens next?

'Three guesses'

Inevitability ensues.

Criticising this for being total nonsense would be like criticising the sea for being salty -

it's called wasp Woman, it is what it is.

And as far as it goes this is standard B Movie monster madness,

managing to also make a few trenchant comments about the battle of the sexes.

'Oh Women'

'Men'

Succinct.

And it doesn't do a bad job of highlighting the societal pressure women feel to stay young and beautiful,

via jackass comments like this one...

'You think Zinthrop would give you any of those injections?'

That by the way is the hero talking to his girlfriend,

and he is a problem as he has all the charisma of wallpaper paste.

'She will destroy the girl as a queen wasp will destroy her enemies and then devour the remains!'

He can't even kick open a door without putting his foot in it.

The women are by far the better characters

'How'd you like to have this phone wrapped around your ear?'

Which may be intentional. If only because it's hard to believe the men could be this dreary by accident

'After that - I don't know'

There are some issues

'This isn't a honey bee these are wasps'

and these...

are bees.

These are bee hives.

being tended to by beekeepers.

Throughout the entire movie you don't see a single wasp.

'Who's responsible for this?'

Which is not usually criticism I'd level at a film but in this case I think it's fair.

'Wasps? Better be careful, they can sting a man to death'

There's another good point, one thing wasps are known for is stinging.

She's not a vampire

'Now look here Zinthrop, what's all this nonsense about wasps'

Anyway, my guess is bees are easier to get hold of and who can tell the difference between animals?

Speaking of which...

Zinthrop demonstrates his youth formula on a guinea pig, making it young again.

'I don't belive it.'

Well that's a rat.

'My formula may not be good for human beings'

No kidding. I mean in many ways this is more impressive - verging on magic - but who wants to be a rat?

'The only thing you're missing is a genie with a lamp'

Never the less, Janice takes the formula and

'You look at least 5 years younger in just three weeks'

All she's done is take her glasses off

'It is you Miss Starlin?'

Of course it's her - she looks the same!

'Still she is looking a lot younger these days'

Taken on its own B Movie terms The Wasp Woman isn't a bad idea and makes some interesting points,

but if you want an honest opinion...

'Of course I want an honest opinion'

When you come right down to it this is a film about wasps being used to make a woman younger,

in which there are no wasps and no one gets any younger

'I think I've had enough'

Feels like a fundamental flaw.

Narcissists Are Just Extremely Needy People Deep Down, Says Science - Duration: 4:53.

Narcissists Are Just Extremely Needy People Deep Down, Says Science

They need you almost as much as they need to tell everyone about how great they are.

Everybody knows a narcissist, but not everybody has a parent who's one.

My mother is a huge narcissist — she makes everything about her, and the comfort of others is never her concern.

Recently, she hurt her back and called the ambulance (at 4AM) when the pain became unbearable.

However, my mother didn't like being in the hospital, so she checked herself out the next day,

demanding that my niece come pick her up.

It was fine ... except she wasn't fine; her back still had four fractures, and she needed medical care.

In order to have everything (including a possible stay in a rehabilitation center) covered by my mother's insurance,

she needed to go back into the hospital and stay for three nights.

My mother lives alone and has never driven, so she needed to call the ambulance again to be taken back to the hospital.

A family member, who'd come to take care of her, offered to take her.

But by then my mother had become annoyed with the family member and cast her out of the house.

Among my mother's more colorful traits, she hates being driven on the freeway; it's back roads all the way for her.

So, rather than call an ambulance during the day, she deliberately called them at 4AM,

this way she avoided being driven in any traffic on the freeway.

Of course, the fact that my nephew was woken up at 4AM when Life Alert called,

or that my mother called my niece at 6AM — and that maybe it would've been nice to take other people's feelings into

consideration — never crossed her mind.

And just like my mother, individuals with narcissistic personality disorder believe that the world revolves around them.

This condition is characterized by a lack of ability to empathize with others and a desire to keep the focus on them at

all times.

Which is why I was (not so) surprised when I found a study from Social Cognitive and Affective Neuroscience.

The study found that narcissists may talk and act confident, but their brains don't lie.

At a neural level, narcissists are needy.

A research team, led by David Chester at the University of Kentucky at Lexington,

recruited 50 undergrad students and had them complete a standard measure of narcissism.

Participants who agreed with statements such as, "I think I'm a special person" were given high narcissism scores.

Next, the researchers had the students lie in a special brain scanner that uses diffusion tensor imaging,

a technology that measures the amount of connectivity between the brain areas,

and how much conversation there is between the brain's various functional hubs.

Chester and his team were especially interested in the density of white matter tracts between a region at the front of

the brain known as the medial prefrontal cortex (MPFC) which is associated with thinking about ourselves,

and another deeper region known as the ventral striatum, associated with reward and feeling good.

They found that narcissists may say they have high self-esteem, but the brain scan evidence suggests that narcissists

actually have an internal deficit in self-reward connectivity.

In other words, narcissists have to seek out affirmation from others to make up for the lack of it in their

subconscious.

"Our findings do not suggest that narcissists are a 'lost cause' because of any perceived immutability of brain

structure," stated Chester in the study.

Narcissists need you to believe that they're great, and while they don't care what's happening in your life,

they need you to be focused on them at all times.

They're seriously needy.

This information is supposed to make us feel sympathy for narcissists,

but it's difficult to do that when they always seem to be screaming, "It's all my about my needs."

Marriage Proposal Movie Scenes That'll Make You Cry - Duration: 6:34.

Romantic films just wouldn't be the same without those picture-perfect, over-the-top marriage

proposals.

Over the years, writers, actors, and directors have created one beautiful proposal after

another.

While these polished, teary-eyed movie proposals might not be all that realistic when it comes

down to it, they're sure to tug on your heartstrings.

The Notebook

If you're of-a-certain-age, you've almost definitely seen the film adaptation of Nicholas

Sparks' The Notebook anywhere between one and a hundred times.

Noah and Allie, played by Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams, fall desperately in love,

but her parents don't approve of the match.

When they reunite many years later, Allie has to decide whether she's going to marry

her wealthy Southern beau or stay with Noah.

"It wasn't over.

It still isn't over."

The scene where Noah finally pleads for Allie to stay with him forever is one of the most

heart-wrenching of the whole movie — and there are plenty to choose from.

"So what?"

"So, it's not gonna be easy, it's gonna be really hard.

And we're gonna have to work at this every day but I wanna do that because I want you."

Stepmom

Plain and simple, the Julia Roberts/Susan Sarandon film Stepmom is just one of those

movies that makes everyone sob.

"You have made my life so wonderful."

The engagement scene, when Luke proposes in bed to Isabel with a spool of thread, is one

of the more emotional movie proposals.

The new marriage carries extra weight once Sarandon's character reveals she is dying

of cancer, leaving Isabel to step in and help raise her children.

Love Actually

Regardless of whether you love it or hate it, Love Actually has morphed into a Christmas

classic.

"I thought it would be something worse."

"Worse than the total agony of being in love?"

There are great moments in each of many storylines woven together throughout the movie, but one

of the best is the love story between Englishman Jamie and his Portuguese housekeeper Aurelia.

They don't speak the same language, but fall for each other regardless.

Jamie walks out on his family's Christmas celebration to fly to Portugal to tell Aurelia

he loves her, and after he shows up and leads a parade through town to her restaurant, it's

his proposal that tugs the heartstrings the most.

"Yes is being my answer."

The Wedding Singer

In what must be one of the most unrealistic marriage proposals of all time, Adam Sandler's

character, Robbie, proposes to Drew Barrymore's character, Julia, with a song he wrote for

her, while singing over the PA system on an airplane.

At the same time, she's engaged to someone else…

"It's nice to meet you, I'm Mrs. Julia Gulia."

But, come on, how much of a chance did her would-be husband really stand after this performance?

"I wanna grow old with you."

Leap Year

There are two proposals in Leap Year, but only one deserves a spot on this list.

As likable as Adam Scott is as Ben Wyatt on Parks & Recreation, he's just not who you

root for in this silly rom-com.

Instead, you're hoping that Anna, played by Amy Adams, won't make it to Dublin in time

to propose to Scott's character.

Spoiler alert: at the end of the movie, you get the ending you were actually hoping for,

when Anna breaks off the engagement and travels back to Ireland to tell bar owner Declan,

played by Matthew Goode, that she loves him.

After he walks away without responding, he later finds her on the edge of a cliff, and

drops to one knee.

Pride & Prejudice

Though there's quite a bit of debate over which on-screen remake of Jane Austen's Pride

& Prejudice is the best, there's little doubt that the story is one of the most romantic

in either literature or film.

A major highlight in the 2005 version starring Keira Knightly and Matthew Macfadyen is Mr.

Darcy's ethereal, early-morning proposal to Elizabeth Bennet.

And according to Knightley, it wasn't too difficult of a challenge to pull off the romantic

scenes with Macfadyen.

"He's a big bloke, and he's really vulnerable, really manly, and it's just desperately romantic.Yeah

he is, he's completely irresistible."

When Harry Met Sally

Of Rob Reiner's many hits, When Harry Met Sally is one of the greatest.

The proposal scene, when Billy Crystal's character tracks down Meg Ryan's character to tell her

he can't live without her, is definitely one of the film's most touching moments.

"You say things like that and you make it impossible for me to hate you."

Originally, however, that proposal wasn't even supposed to be in the movie.

In an interview with AV Club, Reiner said that earlier versions of the script had the

two characters parting ways at the end.

Crystal's character is partially based on Reiner, and he couldn't see himself ending

up with anyone anytime soon.

During filming, however, Reiner met his future wife, and in turn, changed the ending of the

film.

Good thing he did.

He's Just Not That Into You

It may be surprising to hear that a movie called He's Just Not That Into You may actually

contain one of the sweetest, simplest proposals captured on film.

Beth, played by Jennifer Aniston, breaks up with Neil, played by Ben Affleck, after realizing

that he's never going to want to get married.

After Beth's dad has a heart attack and Neil shows up to help the family, she realizes

that he's her partner, whether they're married or not.

As she's helping him unpack, Beth plans to throw out his ratty old cargo pants, but he

tells her to check the pockets first.

She finds a ring box in one of the pockets and turns around to see Neil on one knee.

"Will you marry me?"

While You Were Sleeping

Possibly one of the most underrated seasonal movies out there, While You Were Sleeping

takes place at Christmas, but that's not really what it's about.

Still, it gives us a good excuse to rewatch this charming — and slightly strange — love

story every December.

Ultimately, everyone's glad that Sandra Bullock's character Lucy ends up with Jack, played by

Bill Pullman, instead of his formerly comatose brother.

The sweet, simple proposal scene at the end is one of the highlights of the whole movie.

Jack tries to board the train with a ring instead of a token, giving Lucy the love of

her life and the family she craves — and leaving audiences in tears.

Runaway Bride

An underrated Garry Marshall classic, Runaway Bride has one of the best on-screen proposals,

pairing up Pretty Woman duo Julia Roberts and Richard Gere, as Maggie and Ike.

Even if you haven't seen it, you probably already know how this is going to end.

Maggie runs from yet another wedding after falling for Ike.

She shows up at his apartment, gives him her running shoes, and tells him that while things

will be surely be difficult, she'd regret it forever if she didn't ask him to be with

her.

Honestly, does it get much better than Roberts and Gere together?

"Now that's romantic."

Ring of Shadows meme - Duration: 4:23.

Here we start the awful run where I die in 1-2 yet again.

Explorers boots, a nice find in an all-zones run, but since the only hazard in zone 1 is water, their usefulness is limited. Still a good find, I guess, so why not.

A little bit of zombie memes here. Normally I don't care so much, but since Coda dies upon touching gold, and the double speed mechanic, they can be very dangerous if you just ignore them.

An amazing find during speedruns and races, the Shrine of Darkness disables wall torches and gives the player a ring of shadows.

As you can see, I can not see (nice meme)

What I have done here is killed two birds with one stone in a speedrun. The Shrine of Darkness, being bombed after activated, grants the player a luminous torch. Furthermore, the speedup is now permanent (for this floor). In a speedrun sense, I just saved a lot of time.

I don't grab the diamond here, because in a real all-zones run, this would kill Coda instantly.

A little bit of tempo dancing to grasp the new beat better.

The frost charm is a very good find, as it lets Coda take a hit, similar to glass armor.

I discover the items in the shop. Since I already have a great torch, if I ever had the chance to get rid of the ring of shadows, I'm still better off just taking the scroll anyway.

Identifying slimes based on their eye color alone is still harder than it needs to be for me.

I see that skeleton, and dance around while I figure out how to deal with it.

DON'T TOUCH THE GOLD

An uninvited minotaur appears

Frost charm working its magic

Not being able to see really hurts, but as you'll see here, it can also be very helpful.

Here, I plan around a skeleton

It wouldn't be possible to work with enemies individually if I didn't have a ring of shadows. If not impossible, then very difficult.

Another heckin' zambi

I don't trust the skeleton AI to not trap me here, if it means one more gold pile to avoid, I'll take it over not being able to finish the level.

Another skeleton with its 2 pixels to warn me

I didn't really have all that much of a choice this time around

What you see right there, is a monkey. Monkeys, along with any other kind of enemy that moves every beat, are especially dangerous to Coda, as Coda can't skip beats. Unlike Aria, Coda does not start with a potion. As such, no beats can be skipped, not even one.

[tactical dig]

This is why you don't ignore zombies. By letting this devil run free, I almost bone myself over from ever leaving the floor.

Now I can't leave unless I bomb the stairs clean.

Perfect

Swinging beats to the floor that always kills me

Well shit, it's a locked shop, and only have one bomb, so it's not accessible to me.

[BEGONE THOT]

[Back for more]

[Ded]

I don't want to deal with that orange slime, best leave it alone.

[FUCK]

Oh well, may as well take it while it's good.

凸(+_+}凸

Yes I hate bats that much

Spooky ghost be doing me a haunt

Ghost is kill

Another monkey

Watch this neat barrel trick

BOOM didn't see that one coming

Prepare yourself for the worst bat dancing of all time

I really hate bats

It would be nice if I could see. Oh well. I reap what I sow.

RELEASE THE DWAGIN

Double tempo is still hard

NFL: Kneeling Jaguar & Rams Players HORRIFIED By What They See Overhead During Nasty Anthem Protest. - Duration: 5:18.

Kneeling Jaguar & Rams Players HORRIFIED By What They See Overhead During Nasty Anthem

Protest.

Former fans of the National Football league have protested in many different ways.

Some have just stopped watching, some have actually made a show of burning their NFL

gear and or tickets and posted it on social media.

But an inventive boycotter came up with something a little different, to do.

Apparently, no audience was too big for the disgruntled former fan.

He had an idea and the means to do it.

And since this is a free country where we can peacefully protest any way we want, that's

just what he did.

Terry Smiley, a Jacksonville native, was pretty upset about how his team acted, so he told

them about it in giant letters, for all to see.

Action News Jax reported that Smiley hired a pilot to pull a banner that encouraged fellow

Jacksonvillians to boycott the team:

A man from Green Cove Springs took his issues with the Jacksonville Jaguars and the NFL

to the sky on Sunday.

Terry Smiley had the message printed on a banner that was flown above EverBank Field

before the Jacksonville Jaguars' game against the Los Angeles Rams.

This all-American sport is dividing fans after some NFL players took a knee during the national

anthem.

"I am asking people to boycott the football games.

I don't watch it on TV," Smiley said.

People's feelings about politics and football seem to bleed together on the turf.

"People need to realize the true message that they're trying to send," Jaguars

fan Jay Crossman said.

If there were going to be a medal for the most dedicated to the boycott, this guy should

get it.

He's not only sending the message to his friends and family, he paid for it to be flown

right over the player's heads so they could see his disdain.

Many of the entitled millionaire players who have been participating in this boycott consider

it to be their right to protest, and until the teams say that they can't, it is.

It's also the right of every betrayed fan to make them regret it in any legal way possible.

This is an American who's ready to put his money where his mouth is, and obviously, he's

making waves.

Smiley is not only interested in getting the boycott more strength, but he has a few questions

that he'd like to ask the players:

"Do you believe in your country?

Do you believe in 'The Star-Spangle Banner?'

If you don't stand up for it now, you won't have it in the future," Smiley said.

As a former Jags fan, he hired a pilot to fly his banner over the stadium for two hours

to send his message about players kneeling.

"I have the right to protest and I'm going to protest it with bumper stickers, airplanes

– whatever I go to do.

I will continue to protest," Smiley said.

He does have the right to protest, just like they do.

And unlike the football players in question, he's not taking the money of the people

that he's protesting against.

The players in the NFL may be employed by the teams, but we are the team's customers,

so it's our dollars that they're spending on those fancy knee pads that they're keeping

in the dirt.

Some fans are on the offense, saying players are kneeling for a greater cause – equality.

"They are taking it in a peaceful manner.

They are trying to use their words and use their actions instead of taking it to violence,"

Jaguars fan Jaumari Day said.

"They have publicly stated that they care about veterans and the flag and that's not

what they're kneeling against," Crossman said.

Smiley is giving away bumper stickers in hopes his supporters will join him and boycott NFL

football.

"We boycott them and we hit them in the pocketbook where it (hurts) them.

(Before) long, we'll have them on both of their knees," Smiley said.

"We have people who are legitimate concerns who happen to be NFL players.

They still live in the community.

They have a right to protest.

That's (Smiley's) right.

Just like the NFL players who take their knee that's their right.

He has the right to do what he is doing," Jaguars fan Calvin Sinclair said.

Watch.

The very pointed message that Smiley sent to the

Jaguars players is one that many of us have wanted to send for a long time but were unable

to find a large enough platform for.

The problem that fans have the with the NFL players is not that they have a differing

opinion than us.

We might think that they're wrong, but they're allowed to be wrong, that's the beauty of

America.

The problem that we have is that our hard earned dollars are going toward giving them

an international platform on which to flip off the American flag.

You don't have to agree with a person in order to live peaceably with them, but you

do have to agree with them in order to fund the furthering of their agenda.

Smiley found a way to hit back, and we're all glad he did.

what do you think about this?

Lesbians in Hong Kong: Tomboy Tomboy Love 자막 O [Hayden Royalty] - Duration: 5:39.

hi my name is Hayden and this is my friend

I'm Sagat

Hi, my name is Hayden and this is my friend

I'm Sagat. I am Chinese-American. I'm 36 years old. And I'm a chef and designer.

and right now I live in Hong Kong

And we met a long time ago (almost 10 years ago)

You're currently living in Hong Kong

But I moved to HK 8 years ago.

And you've been living there for 8 years?

wowwwww... O_O

wow, that was 8 years ago? Time goes by really fast.

You actually came to visit me three / four years ago

So I have some questions for you

what the queer district /the queer women district in HK?

We don't really have a district dedicated to gay people

but we do have some gay bars. We have more gay bars in in an area called Lan Kwai Fong

A clubs and bars area

but as for lesbian only places there are only two that I know of

and they're actually across the harbor, which is another district.

I know that some clubs in Taiwan

There are queer spaces, but

in some (straight)clubs, they dont charge tomboys as 'women'

right right right

There's actually one club that is all you can drink in HK.

And they charge less than men, but more than women for Ts (tomboys)

so they do differentiate us like that

that's interesting....

but it was still cheap so I don't care.

why do they differentiate? do you know why?

because they think we go there to get the girls too

mmmmmmmmmmm

so in that way are they more accepting?

are clubs and people in general more accepting?

I think in general people are very accepting

because there are more and more lesbians I can see on the streets

I mean it's still a Chinese community so there are a lot of conservative people but for me

people around me, they were all very accepting

mm-hmm especially my friends so they're okay with me

So in HK, how do people meet each other? how do women date each other?

usually they go to the lesbian bar or we have this app that is made by HK people

and it's like a forum and people just talk on that app

But they have something called TTL

What is that?

Tomboy and Tomboy Love

okay okay, so I remember you telling me that. I was gonna bring that up today too.

Korea has that too. It's called B to B (butch to butch)

I'm not that for like labeling people but people do give

themselves identities. What are the identities in Hong Kong?

Hong Kong have their own system of labeling people.

So T's like tomboys are TB

and the femmes TBG, which I don't understand why.

TBG?

Yeah

not P?

No. TBG. And P actually refers to 'pure' which means they're like lipstick lesbians.

Ooooh so TB, TBG, and [pure] P yeah

pure meaning lipstick lesbians who like other lipstick lesbians?

yes okay

and is there anything else?

no that's it.

how about people like kind of in between

but what if you like not that femme but you're not a tomboy either

we're not that specific but I heard in Taiwan they have long hair Ts and short hair Ts.

Korea has that too

they get very specific and yeah I think it's too complicated. To me, I don't think labels

are that important. I think people tend to care so much about their identity now a days.

people say they're not into labeling and stuff but I think also when the dating culture is

meeting people through apps and meeting people through forums and people meeting

people just through pictures like swiping right swiping left, we do tend to

look at the exterior and like because we don't want to be perceived just by our

exterior, we label ourselves also what we are in the inside too.

ideally we want to have our own romance romcoms like straight people

oh so that was our my our short interview. if anyone has any questions or

would like to correct us, maybe there's something more to what we had to say

feel free to leave comments and also follow Sagat on Instagram. I'll put her link below

and I will see you all next time. Bye~

Don't have no degree, I'm somewhat naive I've made it this far on my own

But lately, that shit ain't been getting me higher

I lift up my head and the world is on fire There's dread in my heart and fear in my bones

And I just don't know what to say

Maybe I'll pray, pray Maybe I'll pray

I have never believed in you, no, but I'm gonna pray

You won't find me in church (no!) reading the bible (no!)

I am still here and I'm still your disciple I'm down on my knees, I'm begging you please

I'm broken, alone, and afraid I'm not a saint, I'm more of a sinner

I don't wanna lose, but I fear for the winners When I try to explain, the words run away

That's why I am stood here today

And I'm gonna pray, pray Maybe I'll pray, pray for a glimmer of hope

Maybe I'll pray, pray Maybe I'll pray

I've never believed in you, no, but I'm gonna
