- Did you know your EBT card could do this?
Hi, I'm Nicole from LowIncomeRelief.com
where we help millions of Americans save money
and get free stuff.
There are literally hundreds of organizations
around the country that are offering freebies and discounts
to households with EBT, why?
Because EBT stands for Electronic Benefits Transfer.
It's the same card that you get food stamps
or cash benefits on if you're low income.
It's a lot easier for these organizations
to ask for that card instead of asking for tax returns,
pay stubs, or other information that they may need
to see that you actually meet those low-income guidelines.
If you have an EBT card they assume that you qualify
and that's how you get the deal.
We have a master list of all these discounts and freebies
at LowIncomeRelief.com/EBT.
Before we get started I want to assure you
that this is completely true and completely legal.
You're not using your food stamps funds or your cash funds
to do these things.
You're just showing your card to get that discount.
It's not breaking any rules, it's completely legit
and completely legal and it's awesome.
This is my favorite information that we found
at Low Income Relief and it happened completely by accident.
In the spring of 2016 I went with my family
to the Tacoma History Museum in Tacoma, Washington.
It's a great place, lots of fun.
We were actually there
because of an assignment we were doing for a school report
and when we got there on the Admissions Desk
there was a sign that said if you had an EBT card
you could bring your entire family into the museum
for just $2.
Now we'd paid $50 in admission for our family
and so that's an amazing savings
for families that actually have EBT cards
and I was so excited to share that information
with my friends.
So I went home and I wrote up a post on LowIncomeRelief.com
which by then was a little tiny site that nobody knew about
and while I was writing it up I did some searches.
I found a handful of other museums
in the Tacoma/Seattle area that were offering similar deals
and I published it and it sat on the website
for about a year before somebody picked it up
and it kinda went viral, took off, got lots of attention
and I started getting requests to research other states.
What I found astonished me
because we found dozens of museums around the country
that were offering these free admission deals
and discounted admission deals for people with EBT cards.
This is a tremendous opportunity for low-income families
and I was so excited to be able to report on it
and now honestly I spend most of my time
researching this particular information
because new programs are being added all the time.
Our list has more than 450 museums, zoos, science centers,
planetariums, ballets, symphonies, and other venues
that are inviting low-income families to come
and enjoy what they offer
for a price they can actually afford
and I think it's absolutely magnificent.
Of course, I'm not the only one who loves this information.
I don't even get to take advantage of it
because we don't have food stamps anymore.
We haven't had an EBT card in years.
So I love the feedback that I get from my readers
and my viewers who have taken this information
and gone on amazing adventures with their family
that they never thought would be possible.
I get some of the coolest comments on these posts
and I'd like to share some of them with you today
so you can see what other people have been able to do
with this program.
Diana M from Colorado wrote,
"Low Income Relief has allowed me to take my family
"to the Nature and Science Museum in Denver, Colorado
"for a dollar each ticket.
"This is my daughter's favorite place to spend the day.
"We have also gone to the Denver Zoo as well."
Rhiannon B from Ohio wrote,
"I was able to take my four children
"to the Akron Children's Museum
"for a day filled with fun and learning for only $10.
"$10 for a family of five to do something fun all day.
"I couldn't believe it.
"I'm also getting ready to take them to the Akron Zoo,
"another cheap fun family day,
"because you all gave me the info.
"Thank you so very much."
Tricia from Arizona wrote,
"Our zoo is very expensive per person
"so when we found the Low Income Relief website
"we were thrilled to see the ticket price of $3.
"Now we can enjoy the birds and animals
"and get our exercise in a fun family way."
As you can see, we've helped countless families
across America have a great time together at a great price.
I'd like to talk to you about my five favorite deals
that are available in cities across America.
It's really hard to get into the local information
and list all the zoos and museums in a video like this
because you guys are located everywhere.
That's why our nationwide list at LowIncomeRelief.com/EBT
is organized by state
so that you can quickly find what's relevant to you
without having to weed through everything else.
So the first deal
I'd like to talk to you about today is Amazon.
I love Amazon Prime.
It's a fantastic service not only for the free shipping
and the great deals you can buy on the website
but also for the streaming service.
You can stream thousands of movies, TV shows, documentaries,
all sorts of things
from the Amazon Prime service, it's fantastic.
Our family has used Amazon Prime for years
in lieu of cable.
We cut the cable, it saved us a ton of money,
and it's worked out pretty well
'cause Amazon's got a pretty good selection.
Now, if you have an EBT card or a Medicaid Approval Letter
you can submit that to Amazon and you'll pay just $5.99
for your Amazon Prime subscription.
It's an unbeatable price for an unbeatable product.
I absolutely love it.
There's an affiliate link in the comments
that'll take you right to that page
where you can submit that information and get your savings.
Bike share programs.
Transportation is a major problem for low-income families.
I hear from people all the time
who are unable to get from point A to point B
because they don't have a working car,
they don't have money for the bus,
they just don't have what they need
to get access to that transportation.
I love that so many bike share companies, including Lime,
have jumped on board in offering access programs
for low-income customers.
If you have an EBT card you can qualify for Lime Access
and this program gives you a shocking 95% discount
on all Lime pedal bikes, not the powered scooters
but the pedal bikes.
You'll still get half off the powered scooters
but that's different.
But that's still an amazing discount.
You are paying 5% of the normal price
if you're a low-income customer.
Fortunately, Lime isn't the only one offering this service.
Jump Bikes, Divy, Hubway, Capital Bikeshare,
and other bike share programs
also offer low income discounts.
Cell phones.
By now most people have heard about
free government cell phones.
They're commonly called Obama Phones.
These programs offer a free cell phone
and free monthly plan, sometimes including data,
for customers who qualify for EBT
and other welfare programs.
These phones are critically important
because as most people know
you can't get a job, obtain stable housing,
go back to school, do some of these critical activities
to improve your life
if you don't have a reliable phone service.
And when you're low income it can be very difficult
to keep up on those hefty phone payments.
It's not uncommon
for Americans to pay 50 to $100 a month or more
for their internet service.
Internet is essential to our daily lives at this point
but it's also very expensive.
Fortunately, for low-income customers
who qualify for food stamps and other programs
we've found a list of about a dozen providers
who offer internet service for $20 a month or less.
Marci from California wrote,
"Low Income Relief has helped me with my internet.
"I was paying over $120 a month for service
"and now just the internet by itself
"is $10 a month from AT&T."
We have found discounted internet programs
from Comcast, Frontier, AT&T,
loads of different providers around the country.
Each one sets their own requirements
and it's not an automatic win
just because you have EBT unfortunately.
Although, if you do have EBT
you at least meet the income portion of the requirements.
There may be other requirements that are attached.
You'll have to check each individual provider for details
but we have all that information on our website
at LowIncomeRelief.com/internet.
Admissions discounts.
This is by far my favorite thing that we've uncovered.
There are hundreds of museums, zoos, aquariums,
science centers, planetariums, concerts,
ballet performances, theater performances,
and other venues that are opening their doors
to low-income guests at a great price.
For example, a family in Washington State
can get discounts at the Museum of History and Industry,
Seattle Children's Museum, Seattle Children's Theater,
and Woodland Park Zoo.
They can also get free admission to MoPOP,
formerly known as the EMP which is an amazing place
in Seattle center.
They can also get a $19 per year admission
to Pacific Science Center,
which is one of my favorite places on the planet.
It's amazing and $19 is less than the price
of one adult admission.
And this pass will cover not only two adults
but also up to six children.
It's an amazing pass, it's absolutely incredible.
It's full, unlimited admission for a year.
It includes documentary passes, it includes guest passes,
it's an unbelievable value
and one of my very, very favorites that we've found,
probably because it's so local to me. (giggles)
And also there are five more museums in Tacoma
and seven more museums throughout Washington State
that are also participating in this program
and that's only what we know of as of February 2019.
Like I said,
we are constantly adding new resources to this list.
I'm sure that list will be much longer in the near future.
It's absolutely amazing.
And that's just what's available in my state of Washington.
There are some states that have a hundred or more venues
that are offering these discounts.
There are some really incredible lists there
and that's why unfortunately
I can't go over all of it for you in a YouTube video
because there is just so much information.
So I really encourage you to check out our website
LowIncomeRelief.com/EBT, select your state from the list,
and you'll see everything we've found in your area.
Be sure to bookmark it and come back 'cause like I said
we update it constantly
and there's always gonna be something new there.
