I opened my eyes so fast it almost made a sound.
Kensuke: Whew. I've been waking up surprisingly easily lately.
It's been almost a month since I've arrived to this world.
I was initially sleeping at Kuon's mansion, but at the same time as Kensuke squad was formed, they made a residence for our squad, so I'm living on my own lately.
By the way, the room I'm sleeping at is the most luxurious in the residence, it feels no different from the one in Kuon's mansion. I'm kinda grateful for it.
Kensuke: Cooking is not that big of a problem, but when it comes to breakfast...
I wake up from hunger and there's no breakfast... that feels pretty sad and makes me realize I've been spoiled by a lot of people before.
Kensuke: But, I guess I can manage even without electronics.
Sure, it feels inconvenient, but it's kinda fun to challenge myself and live despite that inconvenience.
Living here might be pretty fitting for me, surprisingly.
Kensuke: Okay, I should go wash my face.
Hiyoko and Koroko: Boss! Good morning.
Kensuke: Good morning... you two are pretty early.
As I approached, talking to them, Koro fetched some water with a rattling sound.
As I washed my face with that water, Hiyo gave me a towel.
Kensuke: Thanks... whew.
Washing my face with a cold water and wiping it with a clean towel. Little things like that make me happy.
Kensuke: Okay, I'm awake now... did you two have a breakfast yet?
Hiyoko: Not yet. We got paid yesterday, so we were just talking with Koro-chan about going out to eat somewhere.
Kensuke: Oh. Then, can I come too?
Koroko: Yay. Please do.
Kensuke: Thanks. Then, just let me get ready first.
I say get ready, but it's just putting katana on my waist. I'm still a samurai (considered to be at least), so I need to have it on me all the time.

I picked up katana from my room's floor and put it at my waist.

Kensuke: The diner is our best option.

We heard horseshoes and neighing of a horse.

As we approached the castle with a starving Hiyo, Wakana and Hina called us out from behind us.
Kensuke: Good morning. You two are pretty early... were you called here because of that messenger?
Wakana: We weren't exactly called. I was walking to have a breakfast at the diner with Hina, when we spotted that messenger, so we decided to check it out.
Hina: That messenger came from the direction of Mino, it seems. It's possible it'll be our time to shine.
Kensuke: Mino, huh... after we built a castle at Sunomata, they haven't been doing much, right?
Wakana: That's right. That's why I'm thinking it's about time!
Hina: Well, we might figure things out if we go to the meeting room.
Kensuke: Right. Then, let's go.
As we followed Wakana to the meeting room, we saw two of Oda chief retainers sitting there already.
Wakana: Ah, Mitsuki-sama, Mugiho-sama, sup.
Hina: You two are pretty early.
Mitsuki: Oh, it's two idiots and Kensuke squad. Perfect timing. I was about to call for you.
Wakana: We're not idiots, we're youngsters, we're Youngster Trio of Oda! So, did something happen? #Baka - idiot. Waka - youngster#
Mitsuki: Right. There was some change at Mino. Our lord is recieving information from the messenger right now.
Kensuke: Change at Mino, huh... is that the messenger from Sunomata?
Mugiho: We haven't heard anything about that matter.
Kensuke: So, the chance of it being an invasion at Owari is pretty low...
From Mino to Owari, there's a surprisingly limited amount of routes for an army to pass.
If it's not a messenger from Sunomata, it's not an invasion towards Owari, but a different matter.
Kuon: I see you're all here. #It's nice to see CG changing with Hiyo and Koro sitting there now.#
Mitsuki: Yes. But one of the three youngsters is not here yet.
Hina: Ah, Wanko is still sleeping.
Kuon: Right. Well, let her sleep. It's not an urgent matter.
Mugiho: Then, lord. What news did that messenger from Mino bring?

But just hiring around ten helpers for Hiyo and Koro drained my funds almost dry.
That's why we're not being all flashy on the battlefield and focus on the backstage work.
First of all, that kind of work fits me better.
And the job Kuon requested this time is included in that backstage work.
Kensuke: We'll enter Mino and investigate the truth behind Inabayama castle's capture. And investigate the person behind it. And investigate other stuff while we're at it.
Kensuke: Hiyo, Koro, are you up for it?
Hiyoko: Yes!
Koroko: Anytime!
Kensuke: Good. Then, let's have a breakfast and get to preparations... we will return in around ten days, right?
Kuon: Got it. I'm counting on you. Also... Kensuke.
Kensuke: Hmm?
Kuon: Well... yeah. Be... careful.
Kensuke: Thanks. It's okay, I'll return safely.
Kuon: Yeah. I'll be waiting... ah, no, I mean, I'll be waiting for your report!
