Hey, what's up, little dashers? It is Icee Mickey here again!

Today I was planning to make another video, but because I have seen a lot of videos talking about this issue,

I wanted to make my own contribution to it.

This subject is: RobTop's dissapereance in the community, and the situation of the game in general.

Well, as we can see in the last few months. RobTop has not been very active in Geometry Dash's community.

And he is not giving any life signals, or giving any sign that he is really progressing with update 2.2.

All of this has generated that he gets "cold" critisism.

What do I mean with this? I mean that people say the same things to him. Because all of have used the same arguments a lot of times by now.

"RobTop, update the game. You update it every year now. Your game is going to die." A lot of that stuff.

Tell me if I am wrong, but that is the way I see it.

All the critisism that I have seen to RobTop have that same old words: "Release a sneak peek, release the update."

I understand that with the poplularity that Geometry Dash still has, RobTop should have a bigger sense of responsibility to the game and the things he do on it.

And I was totally on the side of the people who said: "RobTop, update the game. What is happening to you. Why?

But thanks to a video that Shaggy23 made, in which he shows the rankings that have not been updated since a year ago.

And he tell his reasons why he believes this is happening.

I could see "the other side of the coin."

I share his opinion that, of course, a lot of things that he says are RobTop's fault

But there are also things that we need to take into account about why does RobTop delays to much updating the game...

And about probably why he has been distant with the community lately.

Shaggy23 mentioned in his video that RobTop has a lot of work to do when he updates the game.

For example: Updating the servers for their correct working in the next update.

Taking into account the spin-off games and all the account that already exist, this should be a really complicated work.

This is partially RobTop's fault. But why?

If he did not make the spin-off games, and he just had put that levels into the main game, he could avoid that problem.

But at the other side, we need to understand the hard work that this takes.

Imagine all the accounts that exist in the game.

I mean how many people have downloaded Geometry Dash in PlayStore? Let's say that they are 10 million people, if my memory doesn't fail to me.

And look, that is only in PlayStore. Let's say that only one million people made an account, or even less, five thousand people.

Moving five thousand accounts, plus spin-offs, plus steam version. It should be a very complex task for him.

I do not want to defendo RobTop, I want this video to be objective as possible.

For that reason, I am gonna say that there are people... at least Guitar told him that he needed to change his graphic engine if one that he is using causes him bugs.

And he is maybe right. If something is causing you trouble why don't you change it?

Watching it from another perspective, probably it is not easy to do it, tho.

Something that we need to consider that Shaggy23 said is taht RobTop may have other responsabilities.

He has a life aside from Geometry Dash.

He could has his family, he could have another job, who knows.

Maybe a job in which he doesn't need to be sit down in front of a computer.

A job in which he is not in his house, or one in which he has no time to rest.

For example: There are people who works at least twelve hours per day.

But I am deviating from the subject. RobTop could have a family, people that he cares of like friends, couple, etc.

And he cannot be with the game... he cannot work at the game as much as he wants. Or maybe he doesn't want to work at it anymore.

But if that is the case, there is something we need to talk about.

If RobTop is not willing to make more updates, the correct thing, the most congruent thing to do is tell us about it.

And a lot of people suggested that, for example EricVanWilderman talked about it.

He said that if RobTop does not want to develop his game anymore, at least he needs to say it.

Still, I put myself in his place, and if that really was the case. I mean, this is hypothetical.

Doing it would give me sadness, because I do not know how people would react.

I understand that there is people th.at would react by saying: "Ok, you are not gonna develop the game anymore, we are gonna keep it alive. Thank you RobTop for being to honest."

But there can be another group of people who would say:

"Son of a b¡tch. What do you mean saying that you are not gonna update it. you owe yourself to us, you are our slave."

Personally, I would be afraid of that.

Is like one day I stop uploading videos, thing that I already made. (Sorry)

And people say me: "Son of a b¡tch, you owe yourself to us. I will unsub you, I will kill you." I don't know

Threats or something like that, I don't know.

Also, we need to take into account that RobTop made this game without considering the extreme popularity that it had back on the day.

Maybe he feels pressured, because all the people who knew the game someday in the past.

A tip for RobTop for his game is getting out small updates.

I know that this video will not see it RobTop himself, but it would be nice if he somehow could reach the message.

I don't know, tho.

This video will have english subtitles, so everyone can uderstand it.

I get that RobTop is making an effort, and that he is making HUUUUUUGE updates.

Even if there are people who discover all the features in no time, there are still very big updates to be honest.

What RobTop can do is putting into the game mini-updates.

For example: Camera features, in theory, are already done.

So, it would be nice that he could implement a mini update with camera controls.

An occasional mini update with one level. And I have talked about this in anotehr video.

But here, I would like to expand the message and say that it would be good sometimes an update.

Maybe every two months a little one...

With no vehicles, without having to extend himself a lot, and without having to spend a lot of time per day working on it.

And I understand that with big updates to make, RobTop could be lazy when he tries to work at the game.

Still, he needs to understand that his effort may not be recognized by the users. Because he would still be critiziced.

So, the best thing to do for him is to make little updates, so he can keep active people in the community.

And, at last I would like to say is that I truly love those youtubers who made and will make the possible trying to innovate in this platform with this game.

For example: Making skits, making animations, making random videos, making stories with Geometry Dash, making GD news, making criticism with the game.

And, wow.

This game have exploted the creativity of many people, it has exploted the creativity of many creators.

Who have even made artworks, they can be considered as such.

So, I really say thanks to all of that people who have kept the community alive, and also the one that will keep doing that.

As Shaggy23 said, we need to keep the community united.

We, as people who remain in the community, need to keep the game alive.

And, if you want to leave. I say excellent, that is a great decision, be haapy on your life. But...

But if you are gonna stay in the community...

I ask you please to do not insult people,

do not be rude, and make sure to keep the game alive.

Probably, the game itself is not entretaining, but you can make some other things around Geometry Dash that you can make.

For example: people who made spin-off games, like Geometry Dash Retrofunk,

Or people who made videos analyzing the backstory of an extreme demon.

So, being honest. The game can still give us a lot of things.

Even if you don't believe me, the game still give a lot of things.

And I want the best for this community.

Aaaaand, one last thing.

I don't remember who said it, but there is someone...

I think someone tweeted it...

that... Geometry Dash's community is not as toxic as people think it is.

There are worse communities, of course, that doesn't excempt of being a community with toxicity.

But, we are not all like that. And this happens in every fandom.

A lot of people is toxic, but not the majority. And still, people focus on that small group that is toxic.

But still all the good people can make great things, we can do it!

Fredy Montaña (EPM-Scott) ganó hoy la novena etapa de la Vuelta a Colombia en el Alto El Picacho, y el ecuatoriano Jonathan Caicedo (Team Medellín) se acercó al título.

El ciclista Fredy Montaña (EPM-Scott) ganó hoy la novena etapa de la Vuelta a Colombia que culminó en el Alto El Picacho, un premio de montaña fuera de categoría a 3.493 metros sobre el nivel del mar, y el ecuatoriano Jonathan Caicedo (Team Medellín) se acercó al título tras llegar cuarto.

En la etapa, disputada sobre 147,2 kilómetros entre San Gil y El Picacho, Montaña, de 35 años, se aventuró y protagonizó una fuga a falta de 50 kilómetros para la meta cuando empezó la subida del puerto y nunca fue alcanzado por el pelotón principal, con lo que completó la mayor gesta de esta edición de la carrera.

El deportista, que llevaba cinco años sin ganar una etapa de la Vuelta a Colombia, terminó con tiempo de 4 horas, 20 minutos y 1 segundo, mientras que Sebastián Caro (Deprisa-HYF) llegó segundo a 1:29.

"Ha pasado mucho tiempo pero hoy, desde que empecé la subida en Bucaramanga, tuve la confianza del equipo y de mis técnicos que me dejaron continuar con el paso que llevaba y gracias a Dios pude ganar", afirmó a periodistas Montaña tras el triunfo.

El tercer lugar de la jornada fue para Juan Pablo Suárez (EPM-Scott), segundo en la general, que solo le pudo descontar 3 segundos a Caicedo, que llegó cuarto y tras la etapa reina se perfila como el gran favorito a la victoria final.

La décima etapa se disputará mañana sobre 121,2 kilómetros entre las ciudades de Bucaramanga y Barrancabermeja, ambas ubicadas en el departamento de Santander (este).

Okay, so real quickly, I just want to say sorry if my hair looks weird, I just took a shower.

So before I do my makeup, I always put on some EOS chapstick.

So first, I'm gonna start with my L'Oreal Paris True Match concealer.

And I like to use my pink mini beauty blender to blend this.

So I usually put concealer under my eyes and around my pimples just to cover them up.

Next I'm gonna use my powder. I use Ecco Bella, which you probably haven't heard of it because it's a natural brand

But yeah, it works very well for me.

Next I'm gonna go with my eyebrows I use Palladio, in the shade dark brown.

Next I'm gonna go to my bronzer. I use Ecco Bella, just like my powder. I'm gonna use my Elf Blending Brush.

And I don't like to put on too much, so I always follow that up with another layer of powder. And next

I'm gonna use my eye-shadow and highlighter palette. It's by Bitzy, and I'm just gonna use this dark pinkish

sparkly eyeshadow color.

And on that palette, I also have a highlighter, and I'm gonna use that with my Elf Blending Brush.

I love highlighter.

Next I'm gonna go with my Fairy Dust, dusting powder. I put this at the corner of my eyes.

I think it just kind of makes my eyes more pretty, and it looks magical! hehe

So usually I use Clinique mascara, but I can't find it.

So today I'm going to use my own natural Benecos or Benecos mascara. (not sure how to pronounce it)

I'm not very familiar with this brand, but it works very well for me.

I hope that I can find my go-to mascara soon though. And then I'm gonna use my eyelash curler.

I don't actually know the brand because I threw away the box.

But I think it's super pretty. It's purple and sparkly, and just recently I found out how to use them, and I'm OBSESSED.

Next I'm going to use my Maybelline almond Rose matte lipstick. I've had this for a while.

I got it from Target, and I'm obsessed with the color, and I love matte lipstick! And that is it for my makeup routine.

Jedi Padawans were youngling who passed their initiate trials and had been chosen by Jedi

Knight or Jedi Master to train with.

As part of their training apprentices would often go with their Master on mission.

At the end of their training, Padawans would undertake the Jedi Trials to determine whether

would be granted the rank of Knight.

Between 35 and 40: You got Jedi Youngling or Jedi Initiate

The lowest rank in the Jedi Order, Jedi Younglings were typically children who were identified

at birth and taken to be trained in the Jedi Temple on Coruscant.

Between 47 and 52: You got Sith Apprentice

The lowest rank of the Sith Order, Sith Apprentices were individuals who were trained by a Sith

Master to use the dark side of the Force.

Some would begin training while still a child, such as Darth Maul, while others, such as

Darth Vader for example, was an adult and former member of the Jedi Order.

Between 53 and 58: You got Sith Master

A Sith Master, was a rank held by any member of the Sith Order who instructed a Sith apprentice

in the ways of the dark side of the Force.

Typically a Sith apprentice would advance to the rank of Master by killing their mentor

and then taking on an apprentice of their own.

Between 59 and 64: You got Sith Lord

A Sith Lord, was a title given to individuals who followed the Sith traditions.

The title "Darth" was given to newly inducted Sith in play of their old identities.

It was roughly translated to mean "Sith Lord".

The title was typically given to those in the Order who had considerable knowledge and

strength in the dark side of the Force.

Between 65 and 70: You got Dark Lord of the Sith

Dark Lord of the Sith, was a title held by Sith Lords who were members of the ancient

Sith Order.

It originally referred to the ruler of the Sith Empire, but was later taken by the recognized

leader or leaders of the Sith Order.

For instance, Darth Sidious was the reigning Dark Lord of the Sith during the era of the

Galactic Empire, but also Darth Vader held this title at the same time, even although

he was technically still Sidious's apprentice.

... things are kinda crazy right now.

We have a lot of things we are doing right now.

First of all, Nikki has new work.

What is the Meaning of Happiness - Some Thoughts About It - Duration: 9:51.

Have you ever achieved something really big in your life?

Something that you fought a lot to get it, but when you finally achieve it,

you're not so happy?

You don't know why, but you're not.

And then you find yourself in this weird situation,

trying to force yourself to be happy.

Maybe you're not sad, but inside you, you're not that happy either.

The question that comes to the mind is...

Why?

In order to try to investigate the subject, we might go to the opposite side,

and take a look on small things.

Because sometimes we may achieve small things,

and those small things, they make us really happy. A few years ago,

I was doing law school and I had just started my

contact with acting. And at the time was not serious at all.

And in one day I was

browsing the internet and I saw this specific video,

about how to juggle. And despite the fact that I never nourish any kind of

great affection for juggling, when I saw the title

I thought: hmm, it might be fun.

I have never

had the intention of

doing juggling. When I was younger, I have never thought

about juggling. I knew it existed,

but it was more like: okay, this is nice,

but I never thought of myself

doing juggling. Anyways, for whatever reason,

I decided to try. So, after watching the tutorial, I got my hands dirty.

I had no juggling balls,

so I decided to improvise.

I got a few plastic bags,

some rice,

and tape, and

made a few

balls. They weren't great at all,

but they served the purpose. And so I started to

practice, and three days later,

I learned how to do juggling.

Only with three balls, but nevertheless, I did it.

But then, one

kind of weird, thing happened.

For

reasons unknown

to me, I got really happy

about it, really, really happy. A thing that I never thought

of doing it before,

I learned, and I got so, so happy. And I remember I was in my

day, my routine,

at class, so I was focused on the class, and then I remembered:

oh, yeah, I know how to juggle. And I would get so

happy!

It's really weird. I don't know if weird is the word, but it's for sure something that,

hmm, interesting, at least.

How could I get so happy for such a little thing,

when sometimes we can get

big things and achieve great things, and

not really so much happiness would come?

Then I was talking to my mother, and she said:

you know, your uncle once, he was strolling,

and he eventually got into this store.

And he found a screw.

One single screw that he was looking for.

And so he bought this screw, and he got really happy.

He had to fix some furniture he had at his home.

And he got really, really happy,

because he bought one screw. It was the specific screw he needed,

but yeah, he got really happy for one screw, for this.

And the Canon will not focus, so I have to...

To abandon...

the scene. And now I am back.

How come? How come we become so happy for such

little things?

Well, I have a theory and it can go two ways.

The first way is

those small things

echo inside us. They resonate in ourselves

in a really

truthful way. And thus, the opposite may be sad,

sometimes we may achieve great things,

really big things, but still we don't get so happy.

Maybe because it's not in ourselves,

maybe because it was a social position,

or a social achievement that other people would praise:

oh, really nice that you achieve this or that.

But it's not what we truly want.

And I believe that in this situation of achieving big things,

and not getting so happy,

this is the most common thing,

the most common cause for our happiness not being so,

so,

great. The second hypothesis that it might happen,

but I imagine it's in lesser cases, is when we destroy ourselves

to achieve something. So let's say I really want something,

and I go for it.

But the process is so long, and I have to

sacrifice so many things, that when I finally get it, I am so tired and so

broken inside,

that it's not enjoyable anymore.

This achievement is only related to pain,

suffering and

tiredness. Of course a lot of things that we fight for,

that we seek in our lives, they are hard to get.

It's not that we don't have to work hard,

but I think we need to find a balance

between

working really hard and pushing our limits,

and respecting ourselves. Respect to the self, I think this is really

important in the big scheme of

life. I always questioned myself: what's the meaning of life?

It's being only happy?

Then you can imagine a life of only happiness and, let's put it here,

no achievements. Is this life enough?

But on the opposite direction,

let's say I achieved a lot of things in my life,

but I was never happy. Was this a good life?

Or was this a wasted life? Is there a wasted life?

I don't have the answer for those questions.

They

might appear in another video. It's an interesting thing to think about it.

I don't know, since I was a teenager I used to think of those

specific

subjects of life. Especially the meaning of life.

What's the reason for all of this?

And the question may be broken even more, a reason needs to exist. I think this is

kind

mind-blowing.

Thailand fruit season: Learn when 21 popular Thai fruits are in season - Duration: 18:03.

Welcome to the forty-ninth video of Bangkok Unmasked!

The YouTube channel that helps you get the most out of your visit to Bangkok city!

If you're new here, please consider subscribing!

In this video, I'm going to let you know when 21 popular Thai fruits are in-season.

This is useful information to know, as most Thai fruits taste way better when they're

in season.

Note.

You can get most of the 21 fruits all year round.

However, if fruit in Thailand is sold out-of-season it will likely be grown under artificial conditions,

and more pesticides will have to be used.

I'm going to include the Thai script for the names, so you can copy them down and request

the fruit at your local fruit stall!

The quality and availability of fresh fruit is something that most visitors love about

Thailand.

Sitting on a beach, or by the swimming pool, with a fresh coconut, is heaven.

Mango and sticky rice for dessert is even better!

Unfortunately, a good number of visitors don't get beyond mangoes and coconuts, and perhaps

a bit of papaya or dragon fruit from their hotel's buffet.

Let's get started!

#1.

Rambutan – Thai language: Ngoh / เงาะ. Thailand fruit season: May – September.

If you have the chance to eat this fruit in season, you must try it.

Some people say that the flavor is between that of apricot and pineapple.

In my opinion, Rambutan tastes more like a dry, but not dried, lychee with little to no

juice.

This crazy looking fruit is native to the Malay peninsula and has been around since

prehistoric times!

Rambutan can be peeled with a simple thumb squeeze to reveal the white fruit inside.

As with many other Thai fruits, be careful not to swallow the large seed in the center

of the fruit.

#2.

Dragon Fruit - Thai language: Gaew Mangon / แก้วมังกร. Thailand fruit season: Year-round.

Dragonfruit doesn't have much taste.

The best way I can describe it is similar to a white kiwi - in terms of both consistency

and flavor.

It's usually not very sweet and tends to be somewhat bland, though crunchy due to the

many black seeds.

Dragon fruit is actually a type of cactus.

The fruit comes in three colors.

Two have a pink skin, but with different colored flesh (one white, the other red).

The other type has a yellow skin with white flesh.

When ripe enough the skin is easily torn apart, otherwise slice length ways and squeeze the

fruit from its skin.

#3.

Durian - Thai language: Durian / ทุเรียน. Thailand fruit season: April – August.

Durian is dubbed the 'King of Fruits' by many people in Southeast Asia.

When ripe it stinks.

Really, really stinks.

Even when my wife puts durian in Tupperware, it still makes the fridge stink.

Food writer Richard Sterling was bang-on-the-money when he wrote; "its odor is best-described

as...turpentine and onions, garnished with a gym sock."

The late Anthony Bourdain wrote; "indescribable, something you will either love or despise...Your

breath will smell as if you'd been French-kissing your dead grandmother."

Once you get past the smell, the taste will not be as expected.

Durian is a strange combination of savory, sweet, and creamy all at once.

Durian is supposed to have subtle hints of chives mixed with powdered sugar.

To me, it tastes like diced garlic and caramel poured into whipped cream.

Durian comes in many different varieties, with Morn Thong, Kan Yao, and Chanee being

the most commonly purchased.

The fruit is housed in a hugely stalked, pendulous skin, and the fruit seated in a capsule that

is split into 3 to 5 segments.

Each segment contains 1 to 5 seeds, each of which is embedded in a sweet, rich and creamy

pulp.

#4.

Jackfruit – Thai language: Khanoon / ขนุน. Thailand fruit season: Year-round.

When ripe, the jackfruit's taste is comparable to pear, pineapple, banana, and papaya.

It's a very filling fruit.

Note.

I must warn you not to eat too much of it as it really makes your throat dry and 'scratchy'.

Jackfruit is found widely throughout Thailand.

Enormous and prickly on the outside, jackfruit can be huge with a very thick skin.

They look somewhat like durian, though much larger.

I have heard that jackfruit can reach 36 kg in weight, and up to 90 cm long!

Once a jackfruit is cracked open, what you will find inside are pods or 'bulbs'.

Often referred to as the seeds, these bulbs are actually a kind of fleshy covering for

the true seeds or pits, which are round and dark like chestnuts.

The fleshy part (the 'bulb') can be eaten as is or cut up and cooked.

When unripe (green), it is remarkably similar in texture to chicken, making jackfruit an

excellent vegetarian substitute for meat.

In fact, canned jackfruit (in brine) is sometimes referred to as 'vegetable meat'.

I wouldn't try to open up a jackfruit yourself as it's a very labor-intensive task to extract

the fruit.

Buy packaged jackfruit at the market instead!

#5.

Custard Apple – Thai language: Noi Nah / น้อยหน่า. Thailand fruit season: June – September.

The taste of a custard apple has been described as like sweet custard mixed with cooked apple

or pear flesh.

The flesh closest to the skin can be a little bitter, as is the central spine, so avoid

these areas if you prefer sweeter fruit.

Custard apple is grown everywhere in Thailand, and easy to come by at local stalls.

To eat, divide the fruit into two with your hands and scoop out the soft pulpy flesh with

a spoon.

#6.

Mangosteen – Thai language: Mung Koot / มังคุด. Thailand fruit season: May – September.

Mangosteen is a must-eat fruit in Thailand!

The flavor is a combination of strawberry, peach and vanilla ice cream.

The white flesh is very sweet with a very slight tartness.

Note.

The tartness is caused by the thick skin that tightly encases the fruit.

Mangosteen is known in Thailand as the 'queen of fruits' due to its extensive health benefits.

The purple skin is best removed by making an incision down the middle and parting with

your fingers to reveal the snow-white flesh.

Larger segments will likely contain seeds that cannot be eaten.

#7.

Mango – Thai language: Ma-Muang / มะม่วง. Thailand fruit season: April – June.

Mangoes are generally sweet, although the taste and texture of the flesh differs across

varieties.

Some have a soft, pulpy texture similar to an overripe plum, while others are firmer,

like a cantaloupe or avocado.

You might encounter some mangoes with a fibrous texture.

Mangoes are delicious eaten alone.

That said, you must try a popular Thai dessert; Mango & sticky rice (soaked in coconut cream).

When the dessert is prepared right, it's almost a religious experience! I kid you not!

To skin a mango, carve the skin lengthways and chop into squares.

When chopping, cut closely to the big seed in the middle of the fruit.

#8.

Pomelo – Thai language: Som-O / ส้มโอ. Thailand fruit season: August – November.

Pomelo is another must-eat fruit in Thailand!

It tastes exactly like a grapefruit but without the bitterness or sour notes.

It's not particularly sweet, nor is it tart.

Like grapefruit, you'll find pomelo in both pink and yellow varieties.

Most fruit sellers will have their pomelo ready peeled and packaged.

The reason is that it's a nightmare to peel.

The green outer skin and white pith surrounding the fruit is extremely thick, and it's quite

an ordeal removing the fruit from its casing!

#9.

Rose Apple – Thai language: Chom-Poo / ชมพู่. Thailand fruit season: Year-round.

This is one of my favorite fruits in Thailand!

Rose apple both smells and tastes mildly of roses, but not in an unpleasant way.

The overall flavor is only mildly sweet as the fruit has a high water content.

Perfect for a hot day.

The texture, although not as substantial as a true apple, is a somewhat reminiscent of

one.

To eat, simply cut through the skin, as you would an apple, and remove the hard core.

#10.

Papaya – Thai language: Ma La Kaw / มะละกอ. Thailand fruit season: Year-round.

Papaya's taste is often compared to that of a melon, but less sweet and with a softer

texture.

Sometimes papaya can have a distinct smell, often described as a feet smell, with little

to no flavor.

Typically, this means that the fruit is not ripe.

To get the full flavor of a papaya it must be very ripe.

Papaya is commonly found at breakfast buffets all over Thailand – not to mention pretty

much every street fruit stall.

The green, unripe type is used for the famous Som Tum dish (Thai papaya salad).

To eat, simply skin this delicious fruit and remove all the seeds from the center.

#11.

Guava – Thai language: Fa-Rang / ฝรั่ง. Thailand fruit season: Year-round.

Guava has a mild taste.

It's something like a combination of a pear and a strawberry.

The pulp of the fruit may be sweet or sour depending on the ripeness.

Guava is super-refreshing and best eaten when crisp on the outside and medium-soft on the

inside.

Note.

It's stacked with vitamin C, so a great option if you're feeling under-the-weather.

Pineapple – Thai language: Sap-Pa-Rot / สับปะรด. Thailand fruit season: April – June / December – January.

When fully ripe, Thai pineapple is extremely sweet and succulent, with a soft, fragrant

pulp.

Many Thai will add a sprinkle of salt to temper the fruit's bite; a technique also used to

prolong its shelf life.

Best practice cutting requires that you first twist off the leafy crown, then cut off the

skin at the bottom, place on a chopping board and slice off the skin, ensuring that you

cut deep enough to take off the eyes too.

#13.

Sapodilla – Thai language: La Moot / ละมุด. Thailand fruit season: September – December.

The taste of Sapodilla is something like brown sugar and butter with an additional hint of

pear thrown in.

In Thailand, Sapodilla is a commonly-grown fruit and a favorite of farmers because it's

so resistant to molds and insects.

Often, they don't have to bother with chemical pesticides and fungicides.

The fruit looks like a small potato and varies in size from 1.5 to 4 inches in diameter.

You'll know the fruit is ready to eat when it's as soft as a very ripe kiwi fruit (giving

easily to pressure).

When it's ripe, the inside flesh should be dark brown.

You'll usually find four bean-shaped black seeds inside.

To eat, cut in half and squeeze the fruit free of the skin, or carefully peel with a

knife.

Note.

Mind the hard seeds!

#14.

Watermelon – Thai language: Tang Mo / แตงโม. Thailand fruit season: Year-round.

Thai watermelon is sweet and fruity, but not strong-tasting due to the high-water content.

It's best eaten chilled after you have been working out, or outside on a very hot day.

Thai watermelon generally has a dark green appearance.

That said, it also can come in a yellow variety which is not as sweet, but just as refreshing.

To eat, slice lengthways from the stalk and cut into sections.

Then, pass the blade of your knife between the skin and fruit.

You'll need to pick out those damn seeds - one of the main reasons why reasons I don't

often eat watermelon!

#15.

Lychee – Thai language: Lin Chi / ลิ้นจี่. Thailand fruit season: April-June.

The lychee is a perfect balance of sweet and tart.

It has a light, floral taste — some say it's a grape/rose, others insist pear/watermelon.

If you haven't tried a lychee, this is a must eat fruit in Thailand.

Especially when it's in season!

Break open the easily removed pinkish-red skin, and you'll reveal the sweet white flesh.

The skin of a lychee is easily removed by piercing it with your thumb.

Note.

Be careful not to eat the seed in the middle of the fruit.

#16.

Tangerine – Thai language: Som Kiew-Waan / ส้มเขียวหวาน. Thailand fruit season: September – February.

The Thai tangerine is deceptive.

Due to its green skin, it looks unripe.

Trust me.

It's not.

Som Kiew-Waan are sweet.

Really sweet.

They're exactly like the tangerines you're likely familiar with, but the flavors are

way, way more intense.

If you want to make fresh juice, they're a perfect fruit.

Note.

The skin of Thai tangerines is somewhat tougher than other tangerines.

You will likely have trouble peeling them.

If this is the case, cut lengthways from the stalk and peel the skin with a knife.

#17.

Longkong - Thai language: Longkong / ลองกอง. Thailand fruit season: July – September/October.

The flesh of Longkong has a musky, sweet taste, which can be compared to the flavor of a grape.

It's a tropical fruit, grown mostly in southern Thailand.

Longkong looks like a very small potato and contains a few seeds.

Buying longkong is something of a lottery.

Sometimes you get a very sweet one, sometimes very sour.

To eat, break open the skin by pressing lightly with your fingers and tear off in strips.

#18.

Longan – Thai language: Lam Yai / ลำใย. Thailand fruit season: June-August.

The longon has a flavor similar to its relative, the lychee.

Some though compare its taste the honeydew melon.

The longan has no acidity, or at least not any that your tongue will detect.

As a fruit, it may be an acquired taste for you due to a distinct musky aftertaste, which

is experienced with some varieties more than others.

The easiest way to peel a longan is to make an incision with your thumbnail and tear away

the rest of the skin.

Carefully bite off the pulp with your teeth, avoiding the hard, inedible seed in the center

of the fruit.

#19.

Small Banana – Thai language: Gluay Naam Waah / กล้วยน้ำว้า. Thailand fruit season: Year-round.

You have to try this variety of banana when you're in Thailand!

Not quite as sweet as 'gluay homme' (the standard long, sweet banana), gluay nam waa is its

smaller, more filling cousin that makes for the perfect breakfast cereal accompaniment

or healthy on the go snack.

Note.

If you batter and fry gluay nam waa bananas, they're awesome.

Add some honey, and you've got one of the best desserts that you'll ever eat.

#20.

Snake Fruit – Thai language: Sala / สละ. Thailand fruit season: Year-round.

A properly ripened snake fruit is dry and crunchy, with a taste similar to bitter

pineapple or jackfruit.

The pulp is commonly eaten raw but it can also be used to make wine, juices, and candies.

Snake Fruit trees are covered in sharp spikes, so harvesting the fruits takes skill.

You can open a snake fruit by pinching the tip to break the skin, then peeling against

the grain of the scales.

Inside is a hard, pale yellow pulp that breaks apart into three lobes resembling large cloves

of garlic.

#21.

Santol – Thai language: Gratawn / กระท้อน. Thailand fruit season: April-August.

Santol's other name - the cotton fruit - comes from its fluffy white edible portion surrounding

the seed.

Its texture is spongy, and, like a mangosteen, the flesh never separates from the seed entirely.

Sucking the flesh emits a milky, creamy, sweetish juice loved by most who try it.

Offsetting the sweet juice are tart, floral, citrus and vinous notes.

If the fruit is not fully ripened, expect a bitter taste.

The outer flesh is unexpectedly savory, earthy and astringent with some likening the flavor

to basil or oregano.

Few deny that the outer, grassy tasting flesh is not nearly as succulent as the cottony

portion of a santol inside.

The rind is quite sour, compelling some to dry it, grind, or pickle it for use as a souring

agent.

Note.

Santol is often used as an ingredient in Thailand's infamous dish, som tum.

I was watching the Crown on Netflix and smiled at the way telephone exchanges worked in the

1950's.

People sitting in exchanges plugging in wires to make connections, with operators still

listening in.

I said to Barbara, isn't it amazing how far we've come and how fast new ways of

doing things come to market today.

Disruption is everywhere.

Uber and Airbnb are just two classic examples.

AI is coming to a number of professional services like accounting, legal and even marketing.

There will always be new entrants into your market, cheaper production in a far off country

or maybe even next door and clients looking for better value and sometimes the cheapest

price.

Your only defence is to continually innovate and add value ring-fencing your customers

so they don't want to go anywhere else.

So let's discuss how you can do that.

First of all Get outside input

We're all too close to our own stuff.

Whether it's in business or life, getting an outside perspective is one of the most

important things you can do to move forward.

A new pair of eyes will point out the obvious – stuff you've missed, stuff that could

get you out of a rut, spur you onto new levels of success.

And no, the outsider should not come from your industry.

The best innovation comes from left field, people who look at what you're doing and

ask "why?"

And often you won't have a good answer "We've always done it like that" is not good enough.

Next Widen your circle.

Mix with people who have diametrically opposing views to you.

Engage in healthy debate.

Build relationships with people outside your normal sphere.

See how they're doing things.

Look at how you can combine ideas from different places so the whole is greater than the sum

of the parts.

Read widely.

And not just newspapers, magazines and nonfiction.

Read novels, especially the classics.

Reading will make you a better communicator by broadening your mind.

And finally Talk to your customers

Ask them what they want.

You might think you know how your customers use your products, but I guarantee you'd

be surprised at how they really do and what they find valuable.

Your customers will be one of your greatest sources of innovation.

They know what works, what could be improved and may even find other uses you've never

imagined.

Some may have designed add-ons which you could incorporate into your base product broadening

its appeal.

Hermann Simon researched over a thousand market leaders in America, Australia, New Zealand

and Europe, and he pointed out in his book Hidden Champions that that highly successful

and innovative mid-sized companies have 25 to 50 percent more direct exposure to their

client base than the large end of town whose exposure is somewhere between 5 and 10 percent.

Being close to your target market is a major differentiator ensuring your products will

continue to be successful.

So keep talking to your customers.

Value their opinion.

They'll feel valued and included in what you do and love you for it.

And let's face it.

If you feel involved in a project you're far more likely to keep buying aren't you?

This is a great way to ring-fence your customers stopping them going to your competition.

Make a commitment to doing at least one of these things daily and I guarantee your business

will grow.

Sure so within my practice I'll see both

patients with benign and malignant spine conditions so patients with benign spine

conditions will come in from just you know vague back aches difficulty with

their everyday activities activities of daily living and also patient to have

more severe pain so unfortunately pain that is keeping them up at night they

can't sleep and things like this occasionally can be also associated with

shooting pains down the legs and that's dependent on whether the how the

fracture looks like and how it happens if their patient is presenting with

tumor it can also be associated with fevers chills night sweats things that

we call B symptoms clinically there's a variety of different presentations but

overall patients are very uncomfortable and it's very disturbing and they're

looking for a way that they can alleviate their pain

sure you see this too and all ages I can imagine what do you see?

Normally the type of patient for this type of condition I will see two

major types of population one will be their early patient and normally they

suddenly develop back problems and they we catch the patient they have a

fracture the other one will be traumatic fractures from many from sports athlete

that they had a trauma they were hit and all of a sudden they we find that the

patient has or the athlete has a compression fracture or spine fracture as well.

I'm sure a lot of patients that come in are maybe taken aback when they hear

they have this or are surprised

Yes most of the patients once they

hear a fracture they they think that they can get paralyzed and actually to

be quite honest the answer is no most of the time we might be able to treat them

and avoiding sequelae of the from the compression fracture area we take that

on time.

My house was built in 1904

It's a single family home wood frame setting on the concrete block foundation

I have been living here for about 12 years.

Of all the weird things that my siblings and me have seen or heard in this house

One event is my favorite. about ten years ago my brother and his best friend had started a garage band playing

mostly Spanish rock

alternative music but in Spanish

His friends could get only together on Sundays afternoons

They would practice into the early evening and they would usually call it quits by 8 p.m

This was the time I usually showed up and went to bed because I worked the graveyard shift

This happening in late fall for the days were getting shorter

they had just finished a long session when the decision of head to someone else house came about.

My brother handed in his car keys to his buddy, so they could load up the equipment

Everyone had fell out of the basement

But the tricky part was they needed to walk all the way to the back of the basement

Up the back stairs, through the kitchen doorway down the hall into the living room and out of the front porch

Everyone was outside sitting in my brother's truck waiting for him

My brother was walking up the back stairs when he remembered that

He left his pancakes in a to-go container sitting on the speaker in a basement

He made a decision to go back now. The basement is not clean with both full sight lines

There had been partition made in the boiler and the main heating unit right smack in the middle

so after my brother walks back, he's about to retrieve his food container when out of the corner of his eye

he sees it

It is a shadowy figure right at his peripheral vision

This feeling of dread and uneasiest washed over my brother.

we had been taught that if you are in the presence of a spirit or a ghost and you felt a bad vibe to say a quick prayer or to cuss at it

My brother chose the latter. He basically just told it "hey fu** you, I don't have time for this s**t.

My brother starts to walk in the back of the basement and briskly up the stairs

Closing the doors and turning off the lights as he walks out

The last light switch is on the opposite side of the front door

Luckily the door was open in the light from the street lamp was flooding the living room with its amber lights

My brother said he felt something at his back by a no point. Did he turn around.

As he flicked the last switch the living room went dark as did the rest of the house.

As he stepped out he pull on the door closing it behind him

Still holding his food container in one hand. He jogged down the few porch steps. He walked towards the front gate

Our house resides far from the main street essentially having a large front yard

But no rear garage, as he closed the gap between himself and his friend laden-truck

He kind of smell and thoughts things over his head mad at himself for spooking out when there was no reason

He climbed into the driver's side of the truck

putting on his seatbelt and getting ready to pull out of the parking spot directly in front of the house when one of his friends

Asked "hey, wait, what about your brother? Isn't he coming with us?" My brother answered, "What do you mean?

He went to work early tonight. He's already gone. Do you see his car anywhere?"

The next question they asked "So then who was walking behind you when you were leaving the house?"

since our first review

since our first experience, since our first ever contact with it

we were invited by a magazine to test the camera

"FilmMaker" magazine

We were on the cover!!!

And, dude ...

We were absolutely mad about the camera's cinematographic look, its fair price and its delivery

We really love the cinematographic look that the camera delivers

As we turned it on, we thought "it's so real!!!"

but we really love it

because we do feel that BlackMagic performs better than the others cameras we used to handle

But come on, dude.. you used the camera at Nabshow

which was the camera chosen for us to cover Nabshow this year

There're some pretty cool stuff! But now, I want to know... What was the experience like?

You said the camera was chosen and it was so not only because it's good for studios

but also for ENG

BTW, ENG is a term created in the 70's/80's still used today

For example

When people say ''We're gonna set up an ENG'', it means an outdoor camera

because ENG means "Electronic News Gathering"

which was the name given when reporters, cameramen were going to do some work out of the studio using electronic equipment

to catch some stories/images that they wanted to talk about

and it is still a popular term

It's about doing an outdoor set up

and then, Blackmagic had a very good idea

Blackmagic has a solid experience in making quality cameras with a cinematographic look

so they created a camera that costs half price of the URSA mini pro camera

And let's be honest, this is a Blackmagic's specialty, because they can offer you an amazing camera for such an unbelievable price!

Exactly!

And, hey, Blackmagic, we can't wait to test the new pocket camera ... take the hint, no pressure!

But, as we're saying, they have managed to release an extremely powerful camera

and they had this very cool idea

They have the cameras with the cinematographic look desired by people, but the broadcast cameras

which are the cameras for ENG, they're very expensive and usually people have to invest a lot of money to change all their tech equipment

Like changing it for the state of the art 4k camera and 4k lenses

Sure, they have to change everything, which by the way, it's not cheap at all

because you don't have to change only the camera, you have to change the whole thing and this is very expensive

and then, their idea was, they have created a modern product that gives you 4k image

with a very clear and very good sensor

but because it's a bit smaller, the camera can give a 4k output for HD lenses that TV stations have

I did some research and we actually used it, so I would like to thank Canon for providing us with a very cool lens

A real Broadcast camera with controls, a real shoulder camera!

And, dude... Obviously, the new lenses are very expensive

There are lenses for 7, 10, 14 and 20 thousand dollars

but you can find second hand HD lenses for 500 dollars

So, these are the lenses that TV stations and studios already have and they would have to change everything to get to 4k tech

but with that new URSA camera, they can get a great result

A big save for the purchasing team!

Yes! and they're already prepared for when the sales team change to the 4k lenses, because the camera is ready to support them!

It's so versatile! It's so appropriate for the moment that we're living and it has such a good quality!

Absolutely, dude... I would say it was such a great insight!!!

because it's a camera for ENG, but it works as an hybrid camera, like BlackMagic calls itself

It works well for both ENG and studio!

Dude, the name BROADCAST says everything

All the applications you will need

We were in an ENG broadcast application at NabShow

so we used a V-MOUNT battery

that you can use with an adapter, because it is totally adaptable

with a V-MOUNT, we're sure the battery would last all day long

For those who don't know what V-MOUNT is,

it's that black box!

it's like you take a 48 DCLR and cram it in there

Exactly, dude! There is a very smart plug

called D-tech that was feeding our LED

and helped us a lot in

in darker stands

and we really felt it by using it, caring over the shoulder

on the tripod... All the applications, also the set up on the ENG kit

with the viewfinder that we used to help us, but at

the BlackMagic's stand is where magic trully happens!

You feel like living there!!!

It was showed tuned!

because in the ENG kit, it's really big

but when it's set up on a studio kit, it becomes really tiny

and it's set up on that kind of Jimmy Kimmel's kit

where the guy has that hydraulic tripod

the one that goes up and controls zoom and everything

so, that set up on a 7 inch screen

which is one of the accessories that you can add to it,

even a fiber module that was extremely expensive

which is also something that Blackmagic is an expert on

switches, ATEM and stuff

its was connected to a fiber output

which connects up to 4 miles

the whole content the camera records in 4k

it can be completely controlled by the ATEM guy

So, iris, shutter velocity, recording format

Because there are a lot of people who don't know

but in soccer, the guy who is shooting focuses on snapshots

the rest is equalized by the UM guy, like shutter, white balance,

It's not the film-maker role

Besides, with the fiber, you have all the communication

like that intercom by which the cameramen receive from the director

for example, "hey, focus on that pizza"

or "cut to Kim Kardashian"

So you have this double communication,

as well as the Tally light, which is that red light

that is on for us right now, because when we used monitor, we never knew whether it was filming or not

and now we see if it's red, it's recording

And that is a great solution for broadcasting studios

Many Brazilians stopped us to ask us if this was a camera for show and DVD recording

and of course it is!

So, it was awesome to see how versatile that camera is

and how you can have an ENG kit on the battle field in your shoulder

And there is no limit, if there is lecture going on, all you need

is to set it up with the tripod and let go ...

But now there's something that everyone likes: SPECS!

which is, everything this camera has to offer and all the things you can do with it!

This URSA broadcasting has the 4k high definition sensor

which is useful even if you work in HD resolution

the body is made with light magnesium alloy

reminds a lot of URSA mini and URSA mini Pro

It comes with 2/3 B4 nozzle

so it can be used with older lenses

like HD lenses

but you can also have the possibility to change the adapter for EF cannon, PL cinema and EF Nikon lenses

Another resource that helps a lot outdoors takes

are those NB built-in filter, that filters up to 6 stops

guaranteeing the perfect exposure even with a strong sun light

When it comes to its displays,

it has a 4 inches color screen

which is perfect for monitoring even in bright places

and a second monochromatic external screen

that shows some useful recording informations

You can record all your content using the powerful and fast CFAST cards 2.0

that are recommended for raw recording

but you can also work with cheap SD cards

With regard to connections,

the camera also has a 2 XLR input with phantom power

and 48 wlts for microphones

2 LA NC input to assure external control

3G output for monitors

12G SDI

one output for time code as a reference

Besides, the 12 pin connector for the broadcast lens, that feeds

and controls the focus on these lenses

and one 12 wlts XLR

to feed, for example, the URSA viewfinder, which was very useful to cover the whole event!

one SPEC that I'd like to mention is that even though

this camera's DNA is broadcasting

it doesn't leave out the cinematographic look

that we love so much!

because you have an option to configure the capture mode

and besides resolutions,

you can choose 3 different profiles to capture the image

for example, the broadcasting that comes with the contrast for ready for TV

that would be standard for a DCLR

a TV look

that after some editing is ready!

It has the extended video, that would be the same standard

of the broadcasting

preserving more snapshots

saving the ones that would burst because of the original contrast

And there is a film mode... The best mode for me!

that I confess

is the only one that we use!!!

The truth is that

we are recording right now with it!

If we say it's a more or less $3.500,00 camera

because in fact the suggested price is $3.495,00,

I think it's worth it for what the camera delivers!

How was it to use the camera in the event? Was it too heavy to carry around? tell me the truth ..

This video is called ''Ta Na Mão'' and so we gotta say how was the experience to walk around with the camera

I got the feeling that even in the event,

where we walked 8 to 10 miles a day

I think it was a very cool kit!

Even using broadcast lenses, that were the ones Canon gave us,

it was big and the kit even bigger... There was also a big battery...

Dude, it was easy! Caíque, who is here recording with us right now, wouldn't let me lie!

We were able to carry the camera easily...

It wasn't hard to handle the kit

if you use an F lens, it'll be even easier!

And so, the camera had everything we needed for that kind of coverage...

You guys might think

"you should've recorded with DSLR because is lighter''

Kind of, because we'd have to take a tape recorder

we'd have to hang the clamps and stuff

more batteries... You might think that looks like a silly thing

but when you have a strong battery

like the V - MOUNT, we recorded all day long and in the end the battery was still at 50%

And it was even feeding the LED...

So, we set up a cool smart kit, mic plugged in, we recorded as much as we needed! If I wanted to record a fully lecture

I'd just press the bottom, it could make time lapses...

it went with 2 types of cards...So my experience was incredible! Particularly, I wanna mention that,

as you guys might've seen it, Im afraid of

Fresh, miniaturized cameras

and that camera you can take it anyhow because it holds together!

considering that its body is really strong

Now, speaking from myself,

you mentioned that when we switched

the B4 plug to the EF

Seriously, the first thing that I panicked

because I was going to get it with you

and so I took the lenses: 10/22,

16/35 and the classic 50

when I went to plug it, I knew the Crop would change

but when I actually plugged in, I said OMG!

I was in a small room, I needed to open,

tilt it ...

Man, it didn't work... I'd like to show you guys some images

that we made with a DCLR

that is full frame, and placed it next to it

to see the difference with the same lens

where does all the crop go?

that was the first thing I felt, which gave me a blank

but I took a few steps back and thought about the picture...

so It wasn't a problem, but it gave me chills at first!

Returning to the subject,

"So, can't I have it??" YES YOU CAN!!

But your 10 will never be a 10, or a 14

Adapting this Crop to AF,

it goes to 2.78 seconds, according to the BlackMagic's engineers

So in general, the 10 that he took basically turned into a 24, 28

from full frame to 1.6, it'll crop a little...

that it'd have the lens to make a portrait

we used to record with a 1635 and now we record with a 1022

Yep, yep... So we can equalize...

And even so, it's on the limit in a 3x3 room...

I'd like to say that, we used to record with

a full size URSA, which has a 800 native ISO

This camera though, for being broadcast, it doesn't

treat the measure light info as ISO

It treats like gains, called DBs

So in general, we could do an equivalence

that it has -6 (200)

It has 0 (400)

+6 (800)

and +12 (1600)

and its ideal native gain would be 0 (400)

That's what I was about to say...

The first thing is that you have to deconstruct the idea of ISO

and I didn't have pay attention to this point, I assume... I don't know everything...

I didn't know about this equivalency idea...

The thing was,

I worked with a 0 and sometimes I used 6...

and summarizing my impression...

I was completelly unprepared with the thought that if had battery, I had everything...

And guess what? No!

Luckly, I had a LED... so, there were moments

when I put from 0 to 6 (800), I thought "OK"

Dude, I was in a counter where there was some light coming up...

It started to get darker Man... it got totally black!

So I put to 12 and then it grains...

although this grain effect is beautiful, organic...

So I recorded the whole video in 4K...

1600?

No, ISO 0 and 6

12, once or twice...

but even when I recorded in 12,

that at a first side it could seem to grain a lot

when I got back to the "Ilha do Governador",

I realised that it was a super usable grain!

and as I ended the video in 80, it worked out!

And you weren't using the noiser, right?

Exactly, without using it...

But the thing is, you have to bring lights!

There's no other option...

Can I say a last thing? I Promise... I spent hours working on my plot...

Unlikely your easy going experience with Caíque on the camera

I couldn't count with a Caíque for my own!

So I freaked out...

'Cause there were some guys trying to help me

but I had the camera and, even though I could count on the tripod,

but when I had to move the tripod up,

Man, it wasn't easy...

because that's the moment when the camera gets heavy!

since you're all alone...

Another thing, it's a skate project...

someone says "hey, over here, skater coming"

You can't do it... you have to stop everything and arrange the scene, see what tools you need to do it...

Anyway...

That's exactly what I was about to say... To whom is this camera suitable for?

TV channels, recording studios, transmission studios, churches,

and also, institutional TVs, web broadcasts, as us...

The reason I wanna say this is because

I think the camera has a broadcast DNA

even though we could use it in different ways...

but if you're going to use it to get that cinematographic look that the camera is capable of

you have to understand that this "making films" thing comes with a package!

Which means you'll need a bigger and heavier battery... some different kinds of lenses

It's a camera that has limited ISOs, just like movie's cameras

So you'll need an assistant... and that's why it has two sreens,

It can be used by two operators...

Finishing my script, with all these camera's "issues"

that I wouldn't even dare to call them "issues"

I just wanna record with it!!! and that's the thing!

Because what you get from it, all the facilities that the camera provides...

Man, that look...

It was the first thing! I called Americo and said "dude, I don't ever wanna record with another camera again!"

You might think that I'm not remaining true to the others cameras

but this is not the point!
