La réunion des familles des Corées du Nordet du Sud, un événement symbolique qui arrange bien les de - Duration: 12:05.

CORÉES - Kim Kwang-ho, 81 ans, s'apprête à revoir son petit frère pour la première fois en 68 ans

Il l'avait quitté en 1950, comme s'il "ne partait que trois jours", fuyant l'avancée des forces nord-coréennes vers le Sud

Puis il y a eu la guerre, des millions de Coréens déplacés, et une frontière devenue complètement étanche

Comme lui, une poignée de Sud-Coréens participent à partir de ce lundi 20 août (et jusqu'à dimanche) à une réunion des familles divisées par la guerre de Corée (1950-1953)

Sur le mont Kumgang, en Corée du Nord, au cours d'un événement soigneusement préparé et surveillé, ils retrouveront pour quelques heures les proches dont ils ont été séparés il y a près de sept décennies

Aujourd'hui encore, des lois interdisent les contacts civils entre le Nord et le Sud et la frontière est hermétique

Depuis 2000, les deux camps ont organisé 20 séries de réunions de familles divisées

Celle-ci, la première en trois ans, faisait partie des objectifs fixés par la déclaration de Panmunjom, un texte signé à l'issue de la rencontre historique entre Kim Jong-Un et Moon Jae-in en avril, et censé ouvrir la voie à un processus de paix entre les deux pays toujours officiellement en guerre (seul un pacte de non-agression a été signé en 1953)

Des rencontres minutées et presque mises en scène Si cette nouvelle série de retrouvailles des familles est un point très médiatique de la déclaration de Panmunjom, elle est avant tout symbolique

Initialement, 130.000 Sud-Coréens s'étaient portés candidats pour ces réunions. Mais l'immense majorité d'entre eux sont aujourd'hui décédés

La plupart des survivants ont plus de 80 ans, indique l'AFP. Le doyen, cette année, a 101 ans

Les cas de parents très proches encore séparés, comme Kim Kwang-ho et son frère, sont de plus en plus rares

Certains de ceux qui avaient été tirés au sort pour la réunion de cette année se sont même désistés en apprenant que leur père, leur mère, leur frère ou leur sœur de l'autre côté de la frontière était mort, et qu'ils ne rencontreraient que des parents éloignés qu'ils n'ont jamais vus

Au total, ils seront donc près de 180 (93 membres de familles au Sud et 88 Nord-Coréens, selon l'agence de presse sud-coréenne Yonhap), à rencontrer leurs proches lors de visites de trois jours dans la station touristique du Mont Kumgang

Le choix de ce lieu hautement en dit long sur la mise en scène qui entoure l'événement

En 2007, 350.000 Sud-Coréens ont visité ces montagnes de Corée du Nord, à la faveur d'un programme touristique organisé par le Sud et désormais terminé

"Le complexe touristique du Mont Kumgang, fermé en 2008, est un symbole de la coopération intercoréenne", explique au HuffPost Antoine Bondaz, chercheur à la Fondation pour la recherche stratégique et enseignant à Sciences Po

Les retrouvailles, censées aider à cicatriser des blessures vieilles de 65 ans, sont en fait minutées et presque chorégraphiées

Sud-Coréens et Nord-Coréens sont cantonnés dans des hôtels distincts et ne se voient qu'au cours de deux repas et d'une session de deux heures, soit des retrouvailles d'une durée totale de six heures

Le tout sous le regard d'agents (notamment nord-coréens) aux aguets. "J'avais tellement de choses à lui dire mais j'ai choisi soigneusement mes mots et je n'ai dit que ce que je jugeais vraiment nécessaire (

) J'avais peur pour sa sécurité", confie à l'AFP Kim Hui-yong, au sujet de son frère, qu'elle a pu retrouver en 2014

Ces réunions revêtent en fait un grand intérêt politique pour la Corée du Nord et surtout la Corée du Sud, leur permettant d'afficher une union intercoréenne à moindre coût politique

Pour le président sud-coréen Moon Jae-in, il s'agit d'abord "d'afficher un marqueur de la qualité des relations entre le Sud et le Nord", d'après Antoine Bondaz, qui rappelle que ces réunions sont organisées au gré de l'amélioration des relations bilatérales

"Quand ça va bien, il y a des réunions", résume-t-il. Si ce genre de réunions n'a pas eu lieu pendant trois ans, c'est notamment parce que la Corée du Nord a réalisé trois essais nucléaires et des dizaines de tirs de missiles au cours de cette période

Cet événement permet aussi à Moon Jae-in de raviver l'image, notamment auprès de la jeunesse, "de l'unité coréenne, de la Nation coréenne", dont il ne reste plus beaucoup de symboles aujourd'hui, selon Antoine Bondaz

Le spécialiste souligne l'importance des images, comme lorsque la garde royale de l'époque de la Corée unifiée de Joseon avait accueilli les deux dirigeants lors de leur rencontre en avril, ou qu'ils avaient pris la pose devant un alphabet coréen

Moon Jae-in est un partisan acharné du rapprochement avec Pyongyang. "C'est simple, il veut que l'histoire se souvienne de lui comme de l'homme qui a construit la paix dans la péninsule coréenne", a confié l'un de ses conseillers qui a suivi la préparation de la rencontre d'avril

La réunion des familles séparées, nécessairement liée à la question de la guerre, permet au président du Sud de rappeler une nouvelle fois à son pays son objectif politique, et ce que sont les ravages de la guerre

Ces images, particulièrement émouvantes, séduisent une partie de l'électorat âgé, qui a vécu cette situation ou en subit les survivances, explique Antoine Bondaz

La dénucléarisation, l'enjeu crucial esquivé par le Nord Kim Jong-Un y trouve aussi son compte

Ces réunions "lui permettent d'entretenir la dynamique des relations intercoréennes sans faire de concessions sur le nucléaire", explique au HuffPost le spécialiste des deux Corées

Le dirigeant nord-coréen cultive l'art du "feuilletonnage": "il attend le plus longtemps possible puis fait une avancée"

Comme lorsqu'il a finalement entamé le processus de restitution des dépouilles de quelque 5300 soldats américains tués pendant la guerre de Corée, fin juillet, après des discussions compliquées et une visite du secrétaire d'État américain en Corée du Nord

Les réunions permettent également à Kim Jong-Un de marquer une séquence politique importante sur le plan international, avant un nouveau sommet intercoréen chez lui, à Pyongyang, en septembre, une potentielle visite à Vladimir Poutine à Vladivostok et une autre potentielle visite à Donald Trump, à l'ONU à New York

Pour le Nord, la réunion des familles est un bonne manière d'éclipser un instant le fait que les discussions autour de la dénucléarisation, enjeu crucial pour l'amélioration des relations avec le Sud, sont au point mort

Kim Jong-Un s'était engagé, dans la déclaration de Panmunjom comme lors de sa rencontre avec Donald Trump, à travailler pour la dénucléarisation de la péninsule, une formule vague sujette à des interprétations divergentes

Depuis, Pyongyang n'a procédé à aucune mesure confirmée. "Kim Jong-Un a fait des avancées médiatiques, comme la destruction de tunnels d'accès au site d'essais nucléaires de Punggye-ri ou le démantèlement de la base de Sohae, pour donner des éléments de langage à Donald Trump qui affiche cette réussite

Mais ce démantèlement partiel n'a pas d'impact sur le pouvoir nucléaire du pays", avance Antoine Bondaz

Selon un rapport d'experts des Nations unies consulté par l'AFP, la Corée du Nord "n'a pas stoppé ses programmes nucléaire et balistique et a continué de défier les résolutions du Conseil de sécurité à travers une hausse massive des transferts illicites de produits pétroliers en mer"

Malgré un relatif réchauffement diplomatique, les discussions entre Pyongyang et Washington sont loin d'être apaisées

Kim Jong-Un a dénoncé les exigences "unilatérales" des États-Unis sur la question nucléaire et leurs "méthodes de gangsters"

"Nous allons préserver notre savoir-faire nucléaire parce que nous savons que les Américains n'abandonneront pas leur hostilité à notre égard", a même lâché le ministre des Affaires étrangères nord-coréen à l'occasion d'une visite en Iran ce mois-ci

S'il est difficile de savoir, faute d'informations, quel impact auront ces nouvelles réunions -un premier groupe partira lundi pour trois jours, le second vendredi- en Corée du Nord, il se pourrait qu'elles ne convainquent pas autant de Sud-Coréens que ne l'aurait espéré Moon Jae-in

today i'm going to share you

making coconut shell pot tower

now cleaning the coconut shell by using chisel

burning the remaining coir from the coconut shell to get a smooth surface

painting outside only

making a drainage hole for the pot

now making holes to attach the stand

place the coir stick in center of the cement pot

then fill the gravels in the pot

attaching the coconut shells with the coir stick using wires

put the weightless potting soil in the coconut shells such as sand, coco peat, peat moss,potting mix

and choose the suitable house plants for this type planter

and then planting in the coconut shell pots

watering

use water sprayers or Water Sprinkler Can

pour water daily if you are place it outdoor or warm or hot area

if you place it in indoor or cooler climate , pour water once in two days

Pattern Review Weekly -Hazel Hedgehog II By Elizabeth Hartman - Duration: 5:49.

hi and welcome to Darvanalee Designs Studio my name's Nicole Reed and today I'm

doing a review on the hazel Hedgehog 2 pattern by Elizabeth Hartman first and

foremost I just want to let everybody know that I'm not sponsored by Elizabeth

Hartman or have been approached by her this is an independent review that I am

doing myself it is a follow on from my finish up Friday video that I do every

Friday on my youtube channel and basically I'm just going to discuss a

little bit about this pattern now for those that have never heard of hurt

Elizabeth Hartman she is a fabulous designer she does a lot of lately she's

been doing a lot of forest animals and stuff like that I sort of was getting

into this last year and I wanted to do this one this is the second one that I

have done this one here is for my daughter I did one for a lady named

Linda we did a black-and-white swap so I did a Hedgehog very similar to this

except it had aqua glasses on it and aqua binding because aqua was her

favorite color and we just did that swap together so um when you buy this pattern

you get it fright you can get it from her website and I'll link that up down

below for you so you can find it you get actually quite a few directions in it

for different sizes so there is a pillow a baby quilt a child's quilt and a lap

quilt and you can see here in the background is showing you there's the

pillow which is this is the size that I've done except I didn't turn it into a

pillow I've just turned it into a mini quilt for my mini quote wall but you can

turn it into a pillow and there's instructions in there for that and then

there's the lap quilt which has the gigantic one on it and then there's a

smaller one that it has for the for the baby quilt so basically you on the front

page you've got all the materials that you're going to need it just gives you

medium and dark for the spines and as you can see from some of the pictures

it's just you know you can do whatever color you want at the it's limitless and

I've seen some amazing ones on Instagram so if you've got a spare 15 minutes um

go for a bit of a scroll put it in hazel Hedgehog and I'm sure a myriad of them

will come up you get all the instructions you need everything is

labeled very clearly so and she gives you different sorts of layouts and stuff

like that so you can have you know if either one of the quilts you could put

four of them in there and just have one with glasses isn't up to you it shows

you how to construct them quite clearly as well this is not in foundation paper

piecing this is all patchwork so if you you can do patchwork then you can do

this pattern it's very clearly set out and step by step then it gives you how

to make the pillow so if you do the size that I've got here it shows you how to

do that even how to do the envelope back of it as well and then it goes into

making the baby quilt which has one of the which is it's 34 inches by 37 inches

which is a decent size core quilt and it has just the one on there then the trial

school it has four hedgehogs and then the lap quilt well that has that you can

have the big ones there as well so it just goes on and tells you shows you a

couple of close-ups and everything like that

now you also get glasses in there for it so you can see here these are I've

already cut stateís tuck these together so they come in two separate sheets and

I've stuck them together so these are the glasses for the gigantic one and

then you get another sheet which is the what I've used on this particular mini

quilt here which is for it's called the large size and again you get two sheets

and you just stick them together and then you just trace it out and you can

put it on to your fly suffix which I've done here for the gigantic ones in

preparation for the next quilt that I do and I've just put that together and then

they'll be there ready to go I'm sick I will give this pattern

for a confident beginner and up most definitely as I said the pattern is laid

out very well the instructions are very clear and concise and even if you

haven't done much patchwork you could definitely do these patterns I head over

to her website and I'm not sure of what her website is off the top of my head

right now but it would be definitely over there I will link it up down below

this particular pattern was came out in 2014 so it's quite an old one and she's

done lots more since then head over have a look see what she's got I'm sure

there's something there that'll take you fancy I think most of her her patterns

are actually PDF I think you can get them in paper as well and anything that

How to Make A Zipper Pull - Duration: 1:57.

Now we're going to make a really fun zipper pull for a backpack or a purse.

So, I'm going to take my Bowdabra Bow Wire, fold it in half and just lay it down into

my Bowdabra.

And I'm tucking the ends in underneath, but I'm not attacking them to anything.

So, the next thing that I'm going to do is I just have all these pieces of trim.

So, I'm just going to lay them down into my Bowdabra.

And there's nothing difficult about this.

I'm just taking my precut pieces of trim, laying them into my Bowdabra.

And I like to mix and match my trims so that it gives a little bit of texture to the bow.

What I've done is I've pre-beaded this piece of Bowdabra Bow Wire.

I'm just going to lay that down in here.

I'm going to scrunch everything down, take my Bowdabra Bow Wire, bring this through the

slipknot, and that's the reason that I folded it in half.

I'm going to pull it really tight, take it out of the Bowdabra, separate my ends, bring

them around to the back.

And then my heads have a piece of Bowdabra Bow Wire here, so I'm just going to thread

it through my zipper pull, tie a knot, and you have this really cute little tassel that

can go on your backpack or your purse.

How to Make Ice Cream Summer Décor - Duration: 4:00.

Now we're going to make this really fun decor ice cream cone, and the cool thing is it has

no calories.

So, the first thing I'm going to do is I have this triangle cardboard cut, and I already

put three glue dots on there.

So, I'm just going to fold my felt over and stick this down.

Then I'm going to fold this felt over here and just have that tight there.

Then I'm going to take another glue dot.

So, I'm going to use that glue dot to start my wire.

So, my wire's going to go all the way around, and I'm just going to do it diagonally this

way, and then start going back up the other way, so this is the base of my ice cream cone.

And I'm just going to stick it right there on the same glue dot.

Then I'm going to take my Bowdabra Bow Wire, and I'm going to fold it in half and lay this

down into the Mini Bowdabra.

And I'm just going to tuck the ends underneath so they're out of my way.

Then I'm going to take my piece of felt and I'm just going to scrunch this into the Bowdabra.

Then I'm going to take the ends and I'm just going to pull my wire through my slipknot

and separate the ends, bring this out of the Bowdabra, bring it around to the back.And

we're just going to repeat.

So, I'm going to take my next piece of Bowdabra Bow Wire, lay that into my Mini Bowdabra,

and this is going to be a three-scoop ice cream cone.

So, I'm just going to make my next scoop.

Then I'm going to make my next scoop of ice cream.

And now I'm going to take my frame, and make sure I have the right side up.

What I've done here is I've put a piece of paper, of scrapbooking paper, over the glass

and just put that into my frame.

So, the first thing that I'm going to do is grab a glue dot.

And so, now I'm going to just glue my ice cream cone here.

Then I'm going to take another glue dot.

And now I have my first scoop of ice cream.

And then I'm going to put another glue dot right there.

And now I'm going to take my next scoop of ice cream.

Grab another glue dot.

And stick my third of scoop of ice cream.

And then I have this cute little ornament.

I'm going to just grab one more glue dot.

And then I'm just going to stick it right there.

So, you have your three scoops with a cherry on top.

here as usual and I've got a beer here as usual this time it is from Alberta's

Blind man brewing have Triphammer a robust Porter some cool engineering

drawings of some some trip hammers which were in basically an early version of a

power hammer very cool ibu 25 okay the alcohol six and a half well who is

gonna be good one yeah this is gonna take a little bit of time to settle down

I'm gonna pour it off camera and all get ready to do the rest of this stuff here

well that was a bit of an ordeal to get that poured without did ending up on the

floor but I managed to persevere it's it's not bad it's not as heavy as I

would normally like a stout to be but it's uh that's a lot fizzy err clearly

um don't mind a good head once in a while but that was a little extreme

anyway enough about the beer let's get into our first a mailbag item this is a

party like ball that sounds like fun

LEDs something like that what's getting a little closer here and we have a

microphone there we have some random shmoo those aren't soldered in there

very nice and straight are they so there's four of those LEDs and then they

come down to oh wow there's he surprising amount of stuff going on down

here most importantly what is the chip

generic unnamed unlabeled chip yeah no idea okay so in the absence of any

information it's probably microprocessor microcontroller or I suppose it could be

some specific thing designed just for this purpose

so what it'll be doing will be reading an analog voltage often the microphone

I'm just probably amplified by those three transistors are these there's the

microphone microphone is there you know those oh there's four transistors and

there's four leaves okay that make sense one to one of those five transistors

okay so maybe one of those transistors is acting as an amplifier for mr.

microphone that would make a certain amount of sense and then as the rest of

it is driving the LEDs part of that led come up through through there probably

hmm okay that's kinda neat one of what it looks like without the refractor

but what you'd expect hey make some noise hello Baba we know he's nice nice

nice nice noise noise noise okay so there's a blue one and a red one a

couple of Greenland's is that what you're seeing so like that yeah fun toy

nonetheless I wonder how much that thing cost okay for what mini disco stage like

party light DJ KTV magic lamp ball four phone Yi I could not find the original

listing I bought it from this guy Yaffe top who as you can see is a noted seller

of quality electronics so I'm going to link to the search that brings up a

whole bunch of these things when I link to it there's not much to say it's 4

watts which means those are 4 1 watt LEDs in there and yeah they all seem to

come with a USB on-the-go adapter of some sort or other that's kind of neat

is it going to be too distracting if I just leave that thing running over there

yeah we'll try it anyway next thing in is development boredom module what it

looks like a couple of oh they have antennas are you you you ok so we got a

little SME antenna that the cranks onto there these both look like the same

thing so I'll just need that and on this end we have we have a zoom so you can

actually see what's going on here V+ ground see snce which is pride chip

enable MOSI miso ir q and m/s Oh was he cock me so okay so

it's good cereal dita going in there what's on this side ha and NRF 2400 one

chip which means that's exactly what this module is called an NRF you know

NRF l1 so basically this is a little data radio that you plug into the mossy

nazo of your Arduino and the other one goes

to another Arduino some distance away and with the end and this other chip in

here combined with the antenna leads me to believe that this is the high-powered

version which can get quite some distance based on some of the tests I've

seen online but it can still communicate with a normal version which yeah here's

the standard version that's super cheap all over a Bay and everywhere else and

that is can you see the same chip on there but it doesn't have the amplifier

chip it's got an antenna just edged on the board there's the crystal for the

reference there this one there's the crystal reference there pin notes

presumably are the same because it's the same signals than everything else okay

I'll have to get to playing with those things one time

those are good for remote data sending remote controlling they're very low

latency compared to using say an ESP 32 with with Wi-Fi or something like that

or in esp8266 with its Wi-Fi or really any kind of Wi-Fi just because Wi-Fi has

a lot more latency than this basic little serial protocol does SMA antenna

n RF lo1 plus PA plus L anywhere transceiver communication module 2.4

gigahertz 100 Evan hundred meters 1.1 kilometers from my old friend DIY box

and free shipping in three dollars and 25 cents each I bought two of them an

easy and suitable module if you want to set up your wireless communication it is

a good balance between performance and cost yeah less than 350 each that's not

too bad so they say okay so 2.4 2.5 gigahertz so

that's an unlicensed free band that's at the edge Wi-Fi oh it's a 3.5 device okay

I have to keep that in mind can't power it straight off the same powers in

Arduino and because it's pulling a lot of current for the amplifier you're not

gonna want to take it out of the three point five volts or 3.3 volts on output

on and Arduino because that's just gonna swamp it it's pulling 115 milliamps

which it doesn't seem like a lot but the Arduino is not intended to be a current

source it's got a hundred twenty-five different channels within that band and

oh I'll support off the six channel to data reception so if you got it set as a

receiver it'll look at six different channels at

once that's kind of cool next when we have computer accessories it says

suitably vague oh look at them heat sinks Wow

going on in here oh look at that fuck's left all over the board

whoa look at that tall ride a big honking automotive mini automotive type

of use it's a 15 amp fuse Wow so what do we have here we have in we

have out we have a pot labeled CV hmm oh and there's a header that's not

populated here marked fan Wow okay so what's on there chip on the back

and a board you see three four three a I don't know you what are you so neat

lo9 okay I have a 1 ohm resistor 10010 really low impedance resistor anyway and

a couple capacitors on the at the input and a couple at the output that big

toroid and a couple of some kind of transistor or something like that there

huh that screams power supply doesn't it

again this has been so long that I can't find the original this thing that I

bought it from but this is the same guy I bought it from BT factory I bought it

at auction as well he's got another one for auction right this minute although

by the time you see this it'll be expired

I paid 525 which is exactly what this one starting bid is and it is 150 watt 8

volt 38 to 32 volt input to nine to forty six volt DC DC boost converter

hundred and fifty watts it claims input current and it can draw 16 amps mmm

axé if you enhance the keep sinking it can output up to eight amps at the

higher voltage it says it can do up to sixty volts out that's pretty cool okay

now I got my little bench power supply set the ten volts which is the minimum

that it suggests and this thing was cranked very high let's just see what

happens ooh 55 of volts that's slick let's see

how much further up it'll go 56 oh it's going into current-limiting over here so

I'm gonna crank that up some it's drawing 1.6 amps right now with no

current load at all it's just burning all that in here and its output is 59

volts there if it's the limit you see 9.8 so that's 60 volts that's

bang long for what they said in the listing that's cool and it's gone into

current limiting again I think I'm gonna turn this back down to a more reasonable

voltage

why are you not going down there hmm it looks like it got into some kind of a

weird oscillation it was just stuck up there drawing huge amounts of current

because now when it's generating only 30 volts it's drawing 35 million amps let's

bring this up to 48 volts

oh you so it's drawing 40 milliamps over here and putting out 48 volts from a 10

volt input and those are getting noticeably warm Wow even over there away

from where the device is yikes I can see well maybe that was from

when it was drawing stupid amounts of current hmm okay note to self don't max

it out what's next in the disco light edition of mailbag Monday it says it is

plastic sheet oh wow that's teeny-tiny you have to magnify that to find out

what's in it I think okay so on the back it's got this hero logo our cwl zero

five three zero and on the front we have volts in sarawak serial data int I Rd Rd

and ground ah and we have a number max three zero one zero zero hmm

max three zero one zero zero heart rate ox ammeter pulse sensor pulse sensor

module new from going electronic another old favorite that I bought from a whole

bunch this was four dollars and fifty six cents and according to my notes I

got this thing took three months to get here from China yeah almost exactly

three months Wow so what do I need to make this thing

work again it's a 3.3 volt device so I'm gonna have to put level shifters in

there probably it combines two LEDs and a photo detector off the

the optics and low noise analog signal processing continued pulse oximetry and

heart rate signals so I'm going to be guessing that I'll have to find some

kind of an Arduino library dick with this thing development board module

quality one I already know they're lying because it looks like there's more than

one in there there is in fact four of them and what are them Oh adapter module

oh oh oh matching that member is mentioning earlier that I delayed

playing with the NRF twenty-fourths because their connector is not

breadboard friendly this is the adapter so there's the you plug in the NF 2400

one and it's eight pins and then they show up that's not any more breadboard

friendly at all if those came out the bottom that would actually be breadward

friendly but it's not anyway so what's that on there Oh a mess one one one

seven three point three that is a 3.3 volt linear a regulator which is upside

down and it looks like let's go to DC and

ground in here and a wack capacitors to stabilize the power going to this thing

because one thing anytime you're you're reading about these n RF modules you'll

see everybody suggests to put a capacitor across the power supply as

close to the module as you can to smooth out the power because it's got some a

very spiky current usage curve it's not just steady state

it goes from drawing low current when it's receiving to relatively high

current very quickly and a lot of power supplies especially when they're a

distance away don't respond fast enough to that current demand so if you put a

capacitor across the power leads here that acts just as a little battery

essentially to give this guy a little shot of current when it needs it before

the power supply gets around to catching up

so I'm guessing that's what this little 3.3 volt also that means I don't have to

come up with my own power supply because this is that power supply just gonna

throw five volts at it and it will do the capacity and everything that's cool

I got four of those that means I can actually get to playing with these yet

another tinkering with a video coming up at some point in the future two pieces

socket adapter plate board for eight pin owner and RF 24 lo1 + wireless

transceiver module from module fans another one that I've ordered from

frequently seems to be most of everybody that have got today has been somebody

that I ordered from frequently anything I bought two of these they cost buck 30

for the pair so I bought paid 264 four of them yep that's it all right there's

today's mail bag items five of them now this power supply here not too bad a

thing I think so no blood oxygen meter that's gonna be interesting to play with

once I find an Arduino library for it the NRF modules that I was just talking

about and they're a little thing here is voltages their voltage is there and it

just plugs onto there so those can work together so there's a as a few few oh

right and they're disco pal over here I just got so used to it sitting there I

didn't even notice it anymore and the USB on-the-go now I don't think I'm

going to be using it with that I don't think I want to turn my

phone into a disco light show well that could be neat to should order a whole

bunch of those yeah for the most ridiculously minimalist disco 8 show

How to Pack a Stress-Free School Lunch | Heavy.com

With the school year starting again, it's time to start to think about the routine of packing school lunches.

For many time-pressed parents, this is a formidable task.

But it doesn't need to be.

I'm a registered dietitian and a clinical instructor, and I have a few easy suggestions.

The first has to do with the food itself, and the others are about organizing the meal.

Packing a powerful lunch.

Research has shown that a balanced lunch of complex carbohydrates and protein offers children energy and brain fuel to help them get through a day of learning.

For the main course, pair a complex carbohydrate, such as whole grain breads, crackers, pasta, beans, fruit, milk and yogurt, with a protein as your child's main course.

Some examples include a turkey sandwich on whole wheat bread, beans with rice and salsa, peanut butter and jelly, tuna salad on crackers, yogurt and granola or cottage cheese with fruit.

When considering complex carbohydrates, look for three to five grams of fiber per serving.

Two slices of whole wheat bread usually contains three grams of fiber or more.

A piece of fruit is a good way to get in complex carbohydrates, satisfy a sweet craving and avoid sweets with added sugars.

Keep in mind that research suggests children should eat less than 25 grams of added sugar per day.

Next, concentrate on selecting fruits and vegetables that are in season.

The U.S.

dietary guidelines recommend that school-aged children have at least two cups of fruit and three cups of vegetables per day.

In-season fruits and vegetables, which are at their taste peak and are more abundant, are good choices.

Choose fruits and vegetables that will not brown quickly or get smashed in the lunch bag.

Include a few snacks that your child can eat along with lunch or during snack time at school.

Good snack choices include easy-to-open items such as granola bars, trail mixes, string cheese with a piece of fruit, individual yogurts or cottage cheeses, and pretzels and hummus.

Be sure to check for added sugars in yogurts and trail mixes, keeping in mind the recommendation for less than 25 grams.

Do not forget hydration.

A water bottle for the day along with milk or a low-sugar – 10 grams or less per serving – juice box or pouch is a good option.

Many juice companies offer options that are lower in sugar or include a serving of vegetables blended in with 100 percent fruit juice.

The logistics of lunches.

Start your kids off early by involving them in the planning and shopping for the ingredients needed to pack their school lunches.

Allow young packers to grab the side items to go into their lunch, such as fresh fruit and granola bars, while you pack the main, more labor-intensive food items.

Utilize the time to role-model healthy nutrition by packing your lunch for work with your child.

Set aside time in your daily routine for lunch-packing so that it doesn't creep up during stressful times such as running out the door in the morning.

Assembly lines are a fun way to involve the whole family in packing lunches.

A job can be created for all ages and cooking abilities.

Invest in reusable lunch containers.

They may have more upfront cost, but overall the containers reduce waste and save money otherwise spent on lunch baggies.

Firmer plastic or glass containers can also help to prevent browning and smashing of lunch items.

Kids can have an added allowance opportunity of cleaning out their lunch boxes and containers to have them ready for the next day!.

When shopping for lunch items, shop in bulk for nonperishable items such as granola bars, crackers and snacks and look for buy-one-get-one-free deals at your local grocery store.

If concerned about fruits browning or bulk items going to waste, consider the cost benefit of prepackaged items that have longer expiration dates and will not brown.

Examples include fruit squeeze pouches, single guacamole or hummus packets, peanut butter packet and yogurts.

Do not feel like your child needs something different each day.

School is often a stressful time, and the lunch period is usually 20 minutes or less with the focus being on little talking and more eating so that kids can get back to learning on a full stomach.

Often, lunch is "comfort food" from home for kids, and they enjoy having a routine lunch that they can count on during their school day.

If shopping, preparing and packing lunches is too overwhelming, you cannot go wrong with the National School Lunch Program.

Often, you can save money and have more nutrition than packing a lunch from home.

Farm-to-school initiatives and better overall nutrition have made school lunches a healthy, affordable option for families.

When considering the financial impact of packing lunch from home versus buying school lunch, be sure to fill out your federal eligibility application for free or reduced meal eligibility.
