Youtube daily report w Aug 17 2018

hello my name is Chris and I'm a recovering nice guy what is up everybody

this is Chris from the rewired soul where we talk about the problem but

focus on the solution and if you are new to my channel my channel is all about

helping you improve your mental and emotional well-being and a lot of that

has to do with relationships and that's what I'm talking about today so if

you're into that stuff make sure you subscribe click the little notification

bell because I make a ton of videos so I've been talking about youtubers and

stuff lately but this is kind of like about a youtuber I want to talk about

nice guys I used to be a nice guy so to give you a little back story if you

don't know about nice guys I highly recommend checking out a channel that my

girlfriend turned me on to it's called sorrow TV and this guy goes

through different subreddits and stuff and does a bunch of funny voices and he

sings and it's absolutely hilarious I'm nice to you why won't you show me your

boobies all girls are the same us nice guys never get a chance but one of the

playlist he has is a subreddit called nice guys and like I watch it I laugh

and I cringe I'm like oh my god that used to be me so I'm making this video

for a couple reasons and I'm gonna make more videos on this

so a few reasons I'm making this okay the first one men all of you men out

there we got to be better we've got to be better people and a lot of us you

know especially younger guys like we're delusional okay so I hope that I can

teach you a few things the reason number two women women you

deserve better keep on the lookout for nice guys don't put up with their BS

they'll get over it they'll figure things out okay third and foremost like

I hope with my channel to show how somebody can grow someone who can

improve so for a variety of reasons so be sure

to share my videos and show people that they can change that they can improve

this isn't for you to sit around waiting for somebody to change because it takes

a lot of work most of my videos when I sit there talking to you and telling you

things to do it's because I've done it because I've been through it I used to

be a terrible terrible terrible person not only was like terrible in

relationships I was also a drug addict I was an alcoholic I had anger issues I

had all sorts of stuff right but now I'm in this great place today and I'm just

completely different than I used to be all right but it takes work it takes

effort and the first step towards solving a problem is acknowledging that

there is a problem so so for those of you who don't know what r/niceguys are

okay so a few examples of r/niceguys there's somebody who will approach a

woman and they're like but I'm such I'm such a nice guy I'm so nice and this and

this or they'll say very sweet things and all that kind of stuff and then when

this the woman turns that down they snap okay so one example is they snap they

get mad they'll call them names and things like that so me personally I

didn't do that okay but I would talk to my friends about it and say like I don't

get it I don't get it I'm such a nice guy why

do these women not want a nice guy so the first thing I will talk about in my

confessions of a nice guy just help you get into the brain of a nice guy was I

saw over and over and over again women that I knew you know back in high school

you know even in my 20s I saw women who kept dating terrible guys right they

would cheat on them they would emotionally or verbally abuse them and

things like that I'm like but I would never do that I would never do that and

like there's this weird kind of entitlement that comes along with that

like somewhere in the brain of nice guys they think that just because you're not

doing these terrible things this woman should date you and first and foremost

like you're setting a real low bar like hey you should date me

I'm not verbally abusive like what what about your hobbies your interests your

goals your passions like things that you have in common you know are they

physically attracted to you like there's more to dating

just like oh well I've never hit a woman so you should date me like say your bar

a little bit higher than that and women same thing like if you're getting out of

a terrible relationship raise your bar like don't set your bar as low as the

last jerk you dated raise it higher because for nice guys it's right that's

what we look for right okay the bar isn't too high right but the thing is is

that these nice guys when they snap they show their real colors right and this is

because they're they're putting on this facade a long time ago I made a lot of

you haven't even seen this I made a video about Aziz Ansari during the me2

movement and a lot of people got my video twisted but I wasn't calling Aziz

Ansari out for any kind of MIS like any kind of like you know illegal behavior

but I was calling him out for being a nice guy right I talked about him as a

wolf in sheep's clothing nice guys are very good at pretending like they're

good and well-intentioned and stuff like that but what really they're doing is

they're putting on a show so they can get what they want right this is how a

lot of women or even men I guess sometimes they get tricked into abusive

relationships not even physically abusive but verbally and emotionally

abusive they get tricked because some people are good at keeping themselves

together during that whole courting phase then you get stuck in a

relationship with them and their true colors show alright but these other nice

guys what they do is they always they're posting and then they're posting and

posting and they they have this self-pity party like I don't get why I

can't find a woman I'm such a nice guy I don't get it and usually it's this whole

like friendzone and you know all sorts of stuff and they're seeing some girl

that they're longing for dating these idiots and and stuff like that but like

again it goes back to like just because you're nice like that doesn't give you

the right to have that woman right and like and that's the other thing a piece

of property and I really hope in this video I'm not coming off as like this

white knight it's just like I've learned I've learned from so many mistakes and a

lot of it came through self-evaluation and realizing this stuff like so for it

for example I used to get so butthurt like and it was because of my emotions I

would get very strongly like emotionally attached

to somebody and all I could do is focus on them I need this one specific woman

right and like here's the reality of the situation I ask myself am i attracted to

every single woman I meet no right so how why do I expect every woman I

meet to be attracted to me maybe they're not into my type maybe they're not into

chunky bearded guys I don't know what it is maybe they're not into guys with my

kind of voice maybe they're looking for you know whatever right like I have to

like that's that's where empathy comes in you know what I'm saying like maybe

they're just not into my type I have a type it's a crazy but the other thing is

to and this is a lot about mental health as well

and people who have emotional attachment issues is we often forgetting this for

any of you single folk out there we're afraid of being alone or you get hyper

focus on somebody and they don't reciprocate your feelings like always

remember always remember there are seven point six billion people on this planet

okay half of which are of you know the gender that you want to date quit

focusing on one person because when you focus on that one person who broke your

heart or doesn't reciprocate your feelings you are closing yourself off to

the rest of the world and that's what I was doing I was hyper focusing on things

that I couldn't get things that I put in half you see what I'm saying so like we

really hate man we need to start becoming better and identifying these

things you know so like the last thing I'll talk about is this thing called

self seeking so I had this delusion in my brain that I was such a nice guy Oh

such a great guy but self seeking is doing things expecting something in

return so for example right I would ask you go out on date for some reason she

would say yes cuz back in the day I was a hot mess and she would say yes and I

would go and I would like pick her up in her house and I'd like walk her to the

car and I'd opened the door for and then I would take her to an expensive

restaurant wait one that's way out of my budget and I'm like you know we go we

sit down I pull her chair out for and you know we start to have a meal and I'm

complimenting on my girl you look good tonight

gee thanks you know and she's all loving into something I'm just nice and I'm

complimenting her I'm telling her she's smart and she's witty and she's funny

all these other things and then we leave the restaurant and I Drive her back home

and I opened the door for her and I walk her up to her door

and then she she opens up a door settings for a good night and she gives

me a hug and then she walks inside right and then I get furious I get furious

about this because all I got was a hug are you serious I just did this I was

such a nice guy but the reality is it's like I had to realize like and by really

a nice guy I was only doing all that nice stuff to get something in return

that's not nice being nice is being selfless you know what I'm saying

so like a lot of this comes from men like we really got to be self-aware and

a lot of us were not as nice as we think we are and maybe if we were we'd have a

lot more opportunities women like there's a whole subreddit to of nice

girls to write hey you gotta check in with yourself and say like am I really

as nice as I think I am cuz I might not be alright so again please share this

video there's a lot of nice guys out there who really need a stern talking-to

and like like I said I'm much different now in this this was a journey and I'll

make some more videos about how I grew as a man how I started being a better

person in relationships I have a beautiful girlfriend we've been together

for over a year and a half we're looking at apartments and stuff like that if we

make it till this December which I don't see why we wouldn't you know we'll be

together for about two years you know and you know if you ask I'm pretty

decent in a relationship now and a lot of it is because I give without

expecting anything in return and I think that's a problem that a lot of us have

right so anyway shit of this video leave comments down below what is your

experience were you a nice guy are you a nice guy or ladies out there

what's your stories have you ever encountered one of these nice guys

alright but that's all I got for you today if you like this video please give

it a thumbs up and if you are new here I'm always making videos to help you out

with your mental and emotional well-being click that subscribe button

ring that notification bell and huge thank you to everybody supporting the

channel over on patreon you're all beautiful and you're helping me make

more content to spread the message of hope and if you want to check out some

more videos and click a tap right there thanks so much for watching put being a

nice guy I'll see you next time

DECO2300 - easyBIN Video Prototype - Duration: 1:47.

Do you ever throw the wrong item in your bin?

Not sure what's recyclable or compostable and just chuck it into the general waste bin

anyway?

The majority of Brisbane residents currently send most of their food and organic waste

into bins that go directly to landfill.

In an average Brisbane resident's rubbish bin, recyclable material makes up 16% of what

goes into it.

Around 55% is compostable, leaving only 29% to be actual general waste.

So what's the solution?

How can we show the environment that we care and think before we throw?

Introducing the easyBIN!

It comes with 3 removable compartments to help your sort your waste in one quick and

easy step.

Simply hover your item over the bin to let it detect and indicate whether it is compostable,

recyclable, or general waste, then drop it into the specified area.

The bin will update the data on your phone by allocating points for each item so you

can keep track of what you are throwing away.

The more points you get, the better choices you have made for the environment.

Compete with your friends and family each week and watch your waste go from trash to

treasure!

Out and about?

No worries!

The accompanying mobile app will help you log what you dispose of, just scan the item

with your phone's camera to help it identify the type of waste, and dispose of the item

in its respective bin.

easyBIN, waste not, want not.

ADDIO A ARETHA FRANKLIN - LA "REGINA DEL SOUL" SI È SPENTA A 76 ANNI NELLA SUA CASA DI DETROIT DOPO - Duration: 7:01.

any of you single folk out there we're afraid of being alone or you get hyper

focus on somebody and they don't reciprocate your feelings like always

remember always remember there are seven point six billion people on this planet

okay half of which are of you know the gender that you want to date quit

focusing on one person because when you focus on that one person who broke your

heart or doesn't reciprocate your feelings you are closing yourself off to

the rest of the world and that's what I was doing I was hyper focusing on things

that I couldn't get things that I put in half you see what I'm saying so like we

really hate man we need to start becoming better and identifying these

things you know so like the last thing I'll talk about is this thing called

self seeking so I had this delusion in my brain that I was such a nice guy Oh

such a great guy but self seeking is doing things expecting something in

return so for example right I would ask you go out on date for some reason she

would say yes cuz back in the day I was a hot mess and she would say yes and I

would go and I would like pick her up in her house and I'd like walk her to the

car and I'd opened the door for and then I would take her to an expensive

restaurant wait one that's way out of my budget and I'm like you know we go we

sit down I pull her chair out for and you know we start to have a meal and I'm

complimenting on my girl you look good tonight

gee thanks you know and she's all loving into something I'm just nice and I'm

complimenting her I'm telling her she's smart and she's witty and she's funny

all these other things and then we leave the restaurant and I Drive her back home

and I opened the door for her and I walk her up to her door

and then she she opens up a door settings for a good night and she gives

me a hug and then she walks inside right and then I get furious I get furious

about this because all I got was a hug are you serious I just did this I was

such a nice guy but the reality is it's like I had to realize like and by really

a nice guy I was only doing all that nice stuff to get something in return

that's not nice being nice is being selfless you know what I'm saying

so like a lot of this comes from men like we really got to be self-aware and

a lot of us were not as nice as we think we are and maybe if we were we'd have a

lot more opportunities women like there's a whole subreddit to of nice

girls to write hey you gotta check in with yourself and say like am I really

as nice as I think I am cuz I might not be alright so again please share this

video there's a lot of nice guys out there who really need a stern talking-to

and like like I said I'm much different now in this this was a journey and I'll

make some more videos about how I grew as a man how I started being a better

person in relationships I have a beautiful girlfriend we've been together

for over a year and a half we're looking at apartments and stuff like that if we

make it till this December which I don't see why we wouldn't you know we'll be

together for about two years you know and you know if you ask I'm pretty

decent in a relationship now and a lot of it is because I give without

expecting anything in return and I think that's a problem that a lot of us have

right so anyway shit of this video leave comments down below what is your

experience were you a nice guy are you a nice guy or ladies out there

what's your stories have you ever encountered one of these nice guys

alright but that's all I got for you today if you like this video please give

it a thumbs up and if you are new here I'm always making videos to help you out

with your mental and emotional well-being click that subscribe button

ring that notification bell and huge thank you to everybody supporting the

channel over on patreon you're all beautiful and you're helping me make

more content to spread the message of hope and if you want to check out some

more videos and click a tap right there thanks so much for watching put being a

Roll Hunting Pennies - Found an interesting 1983 P! - Duration: 7:19.

hey everyone its Rob with Rob finds treasure and we've got a penny box to

hunt today and I'm pretty excited about this one mainly because I walked into a

chase bank and asked for a penny box and he said that the vault manager was not

there but that he did have $25 in pennies in trays and I asked if they

were customer wrapped or sealed machine sealed and he said they,re machine

sealed so I filled up a chase deposit bag full of pennies carried it out to the

car got it home put it in one of these boxes but here's why I'm excited first

of all they're circulated rolls I already checked that when I was loading

in the bags but second of all there are numerous rolls and I don't get a lot of

penny boxes or I don't get to hunt a lot of pennies out of these kinds of rolls

it's not very often what I usually get is the type of penny rolls that have the

red ends and they're just basically blank like that so I'm excited doesn't

mean I'm gonna find anything out of the ordinary but it's always fun to get a

different kind of wrapper on coins that you don't normally get kind of makes the

hunt fun as you guys know all right enough talking let's get the hunt

started and as always I'll loop you in if I find something worth showing all

right roll number two laid them out and I see a foreign back here could be a

young head looks pretty old yep 1963 all right on the board with the Canadian

cent first find of the box all right guys roll number three got an

interesting find here I've got a counter struck coin it's got a us a map and a

Liberty Bell I'll put it under the microscope so you can see it better

It's got a USA right there and the cracked Liberty Bell over Liberty so that's

kind of a cool one I don't think I have one I've seen these online but I don't have

a counter struck penny like this and it's done nicely so I will take that

that is a cool find for sure

roll number six we're gonna have another foreign coin here looks like a Canadian

it is 1977 roll number seven guys just laid them out and I see our first wheat

penny of the box

probably a 50s 1956 roll number 14 gonna have our second wheat penny here

I saw it facing me it's a 44 Philadelphia

kind of cool Toning it's also our oldest of the box so far with two wheat cents

roll 24 and we're gonna have our third wheat penny of the box and this one is a

49 D Wow roll 26 is gonna have a dime in it and oddly enough it's an 82 too bad

it wasn't the 82 no mint mark instead it's an 82 Denver still made money on

that roll will take a whole bunch more just like it

roll 29 gonna have our fourth wheat penny of the box looks like a 46 all

right guys we're on roll 35 and like I always do I check the 1983 for the

double die reverse one or two and it doesn't have the doubling on the one

cent there's no doubling there but there's

some interesting markers on this coin I'm going to show you if you look at the

I

the t the e and especially that D first and foremost we haven't gone on to the s

yet you can already see the doubling on the s that looks more than Machine

doubling to me that's pretty heavy struck when you go to the s same thing

let me rotate this a little bit differently maybe we get a better angle

here maybe it's better the other way

there you go you can see the S there the A T that S there the d e t would

love to hear your thoughts on this coin

and it's actually in really good shape - as you can see interesting find would

love to hear your thoughts on it we'll pull to the side for now and get

back to the hunt roll 42 guys in the box with only four wheaties so far we get

a wheat cent ender unbelievable let's open it and see what it is all right

wheat cent ender looks pretty new 53 D and I'm not mad that's wheat cent number

five and because I had an ender why not take a fast look see if something pops

off the page just in case I'm not seeing another one I don't think so

well we'll loop you back in if you find something else we have finished that box of

pennies and you know what we didn't get a lot of Wheaties we only got five you

saw them as I pulled them so I'm not gonna spend a lot of time on them we

ended up with another 20 2009's a couple of Canadians a couple of 59 d's, 1 69s we

ended up with a 63 d a 74 D and a 99 D that I'm pulling out

to see if they upgraded my penny album we got a dime and then

a counter struck coin which is pretty cool

we got a 1989 here and I'll put it under the microscope the rim is before it was

struck so it's like the planchette had a crease in it

you can see it's clearly behind all the letters and then it gets some damage

over here on this side like it didn't really strike properly and there's even

a slight bit of doubling on the L in the eye and so this is a planchette that

probably just wasn't a really good planchet it's warped a little bit as you

can see and so when it struck it it struck it on I kept it because it's kind

of cool and then again this 83 it looks a lot like better than Machine doubling

but I'm not sure this is those tweeners it's hard to tell it looks like it could

have some double strikes but it also looks like it could be some heavy

machine doubling that's why I need your guys's help on that one anyway another

fun hunt another good time hopefully you enjoyed the hunt with me if you did I'd

appreciate a thumbs up and as always everyone happy hunting and thanks for

watching

Ian Wright knows exactly what Arsenal have to do if the Emery era is to be successful - Duration: 3:11.

It's been all change at Arsenal this summer - although Sunday's game against Manchester City didn't exactly look that way

The Gunners replaced their long-serving and arguably greatest ever manager, Arsene Wenger, with Basque coach Unai Emery, ushering in a new era after 22 years

The 2-0 defeat to City at the Emirates Stadium wasn't the start that anyone was after, but fans did at least get to see some changes early on

There were tactical changes, such as the team clearly trying to pass out from the back more - even if it did nearly result in an embarrassing own goal for Petr Cech as he narrowly avoided his own far post with a pass

And there were new signings, too - ones that should help fix a few of the problems that Arsenal fans have complained about for years

Emery has brought in experience in defence with Sokratis Papastathopoulos from Borussia Dortmund and Stephan Lichtsteiner from Juventus

Two new players have arrived in the middle of midfield, too, in Matteo Guendouzi and Lucas Torreira - the latter of which is exciting a lot of fans

But with the Emery era underway and new signings on board, Arsenal legend Ian Wright has been quick to remind everyone what's needed if the new coach is to be a success: time

"Unai Emery needs at least - if we're talking transfer window terms - he needs at least three or four transfer windows," Wright told Omnisport

"So if that means two seasons, give him two seasons."I think that we've had a manager for 20-odd years, and he was magnificent for us, and now we've got a manager who has come in who has got pedigree

"He's good enough to be the manager who can go to the next level - so why not give him the time to do that? Give him the time to try and implement the style of play that he wants

"Whether that means he's got the players already or he's going to have to bring them in throughout three or maybe four transfer windows

"I believe he should get that and we should judge him then." It's a lot of sense from Wright - the only issue is if that's realistic

Managers aren't given a lot of times these days, especially if the club is already below their expectations like Arsenal have been over the past two years

But this is something that many Arsenal fans have wanted for a while. The change is here but it'll take a little while before it's complete

How to sell something intangible - Duration: 4:34.

Hi, it's Renée Hasseldine here from shareyourpassion.com.au, and today I'm going to be talking to you about

the experience of selling something in a service-based business, when we often feel like it is invisible

or it's hot air or it's intangible.

So, how many of us have actually felt like, in our service-based businesses, we are selling

like something that's invisible, it's hot air?

I know I've experienced this myself.

You have these thoughts of, "Oh, if only they could see inside my brain.

If only they could see what it is that I know and all this experience that I have.

If only they could see that."

Or, "If only I could explain to them clearly and succinctly all this stuff in my head,"

'cause I know so much stuff.

You know, "I've got 25 years experience of doing this.

And it's so much knowledge, and it's all tangled up in this big mess, and I can't kind of explain

it clearly, because there's so much."

Yeah?

I felt like that.

And you know, a lot of my clients that I've spoken to, have also felt the same thing.

It's like, I've got so much knowledge, so much expertise, so much to give, that I find

it difficult to convey that in a clear and simple way.

And this is why I love visual models, because creating a signature system with visual models

means that you're taking all that spaghetti mess out of your head, you're turning it into

four sexy pictures, and those pictures will actually sell what you do for you.

It takes that invisible intangible and it makes it tangible and visible.

Suddenly, you're not feeling like you're selling something that only you can see.

You're actually selling something that people can get a grasp of, they can actually hang

on to.

They can immediately see before their eyes what it is that you do really, really clearly.

So, there are four pictures, four key models that you need to create your signature system.

The first of those is the success model.

And the success model is all about showing your clients what are the key ingredients

they need to master to achieve success.

So clearly, you need to know who your ideal client is, what success looks like for them,

and what are the success criteria for those people.

So, that's model number one.

Model number two is the excite model.

And the excite model is all about showing your clients the journey for someone just

like them getting from where they are.

Or perhaps even the journey might start a few steps before you're up to where your clients

are up to, because sometimes clients come to us when they're sort of halfway through

the journey.

They need help just getting to the peak where they're going.

Yes, so the excite model is all about showing the journey and really is about the emotional

journey, the feeling and the experience.

Whereas the third model, the educate model, is actually about the doing.

So where the excite model is about sort of the emotional impact and the feeling of it,

the educate model is about the doing.

So, this model is about, what is the step-by-step process that your clients need to go through?

What do they need to do?

This is about the doing.

So when that client come to you, the first thing they do is this.

They do this, and then they do this, and then they do this.

That's the educate model.

And the final model you need is the yes model.

And that is all about showing your clients what are the benefits of working with you.

So, those are the four models that you need to take what is in your head, in that spaghetti

mess, and turn it into something tangible and visible for your clients.

So that suddenly, you don't feel like you're selling yourself or this invisible thing.

You're actually selling a proven system, yeah?

Because you've got the experience and the knowledge and the proven results to back it

up.

You can say, "Look, here's the system.

This is what we do.

This is how I work with clients.

When my clients follow this process, this is the result that they get."

Yeah, and you show them the yes model.

So, it's such a powerful, powerful way to sell without selling, really, because you

just explain the system, and people are just like, "Sign me up."

So, if you want to have this benefit in your business, just check out my free training,

because I've got more information about all the different types of models and how you

can actually take it out of your head and turn it into stuff.

Go to shareyourpassion.com.au/freetraining.

I think you'll find there's some good info there, too.

I'm Renée Hasseldine, thank you so much for watching.

Talk to you soon.

Lego Hogwarts Castle Unboxing: Toys for Geeks - Duration: 3:20.

Hi my friends, CA here and when I heard that LEGO was bringing out this

Harry Potter castle I got really excited. The set comes out on I think is the

first of September but I was able to pick it up today. It's actually quite a

large, it's quite heavy. But then this is I think the largest set that we've

had so over 6,000 pieces, six thousand 20 pieces. My kids, and myself included, are

all very eager to dig in and start building. I have to put it off, taking a

road trip to Universal to visit Harry Potter World. I can't kind of put it to the

side and not do anything. I wanted to just open it anyways and see kind of the

pieces, number of bags. Curious how thick that instruction manual will be. Or maybe it's

multiple manuals.

This is....all those pieces in there.

Then, a box in a box.

All the stickers.

Look at this manual. There's like four books here. One. Two. Three. Four.

I like that the front of the manual, they

have about the design team. There's actually a video we were watching last

night. Two pieces I guess you build separately but you know you join them.

Thirty-seven bags. Oh yah, there they are.

Micro characters.

As big fans we'll be coming back from the high visiting

Harry Potter World and then we'll get to kind of create this. I'm really excited

because I I don't know... seeing all the individual rooms, even with the micro

characters. It's just really cool. I can't wait to put this together and the number

of bags, three-seven bags of LEGO pieces to build, it it will certainly occupy our

time for a bit. So just want to give a little peek inside. We'll be sharing some

more video as we build it, we put it together, but I'm I'm sure YouTube will

be full of people who will build it faster. On Tuesdays we usually share

things regarding toys and collectibles. I'm probably gonna publish this earlier

than that because I'm just so excited I want to share it! if you like

this content, like to see more content like it or maybe you're just a big Harry

Potter fan like us, be sure to give us a little thumbs up. Don't forget to

subscribe so you can see more content like this, especially as we get into

building, which I'm really excited about. Hit the bell for notifications when

content is published and until next time one to beam out. [whooooo]

One for the Many - Sermon by Rev. Moe Cormier - 2015.09.13 - Duration: 19:11.

>> PASTOR MOE: If you'll turn with me this morning to the Old Testament book of Ezra ...

About ... just a little over a quarter of the way through, not quite a third.

Ezra chapter 8, beginning in verse 35. Ezra 8:35, here now the Word of the Lord:

"At that time those who had come from captivity, the returned exiles,

offered burnt offerings to the God of Israel,

twelve bulls for all Israel,

ninety-six rams, seventy-seven lambs, and as a sin offering twelve male goats.

All this was a burnt offering to the Lord.

They also delivered the king's commissions to the king's satraps

and to the governors of the province Beyond the river, and they aided the people and the house of God."

May God bless this reading of His Holy Word.

Sometimes things are not always as they seem.

Anybody disagree with that?

Yeah, I think we've all seen that sometimes things aren't what they seem --

they look one way on the surface but underneath ... It ain't happening.

How many times do you read or see or know somebody who's looking at a new house?

Or I guess I can take an extreme example from fiction. Anybody here remember The Money Pit?

Oh, yeah. [laughter] Classic an absolute classic.

Let's... Once Jennifer and I looked at a house, and I thought it was really cool. It was reasonably priced for Massachusetts.

It was actually under $200,000.

It was a 3 bedroom raised ranch

an in-law apartment over the two-car garage.

Sounded too good to be true. Looked really cute it was on a cul-de-sac in a nice party Millville, and ...

First thing when you walk in the door is this strong smell of cat urine. [laughter]

Things are not always as they appear. My eyes were burning in the basement -- and we used to have a cat!

Sometimes things look really good on the surface, but man, you walk through the door, ... pee-yew.

Why are you laughing? [laughter]

And so here, in the book of Ezra, we have the children of Israel --

Those who have been pulled into Babylon for the captivity,

back in the time of Jeremiah,

and now the 70 years are up.

And they've returned to the promised land.

So we read that those who had come back -- the returned exiles -- are offering these burnt offerings to the God of Israel. Twelve bulls.

Twelve bulls.

Do any of us here remember the 70's? Probably all but a handful.

Remember ______________ and

And how there was this fascination for a while with western clothing and even a lot of bars had these mechanical bulls

Anybody ever watch a rodeo and the real bull riding? Imagine trying to kill a bull?

Imagine trying to kill 12 of them!

Sacrifice indeed! So he has 12 bulls,

96 Rams, 77 Lambs, and, as a sin offering,

12 male goats.

And, not only that, but these returned exiles are also delivering things to the officials,

and helping the other people who were actually in the area in their absence, who were settled in that area.

When Nebuchadnezzar took it over.

Now that King Darius has made the decree --

or King Cyrus has made the decree.

They aided the people and the house of God. Are these good things? Yes, no, maybe?

Lookin' good, right? Yeah!

I hate chapter breaks.

Chapter breaks are not inspired.

The words of the Bible are, but chapter breaks are not.

Because too often we would end at Ezra 8:36.

And they aided the people and the house of God -- Cool!

And then maybe,

someday,

(Unless we're doing a Bible in a year kind of thing and it's the next night's reading.)

We read immediately follow that after they aided the people in the house of God -- "After these things have been done,

the officials approached me" (meaning Ezra)

"and said

'The people of Israel and the priests and the Levites

have not separated themselves from the peoples of the land with their abominations,

from the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Jebusites,

the Perizzites ...' (and all these other -ites)

'... For they have taken some of their daughters to be wives for themselves and for their sons,

so that the holy race has mixed itself with the peoples of the lands.

And in this faithlessness the hand of the officials and chief men has been foremost.' "

All is not well in Mudville, is it?

Looks good!

We've got the sacrifices going on again. They're in Jerusalem again.

They are killing large numbers of animals -- having this tremendous barbecue afterward.

And they're doing good things for the surrounding people. It's lively. It's vibrant. It's strong again.

But there's rot underneath, because the leadership ain't on board.

And where the leadership goes, so goes the rest. Is that not true? Yeah.

And so

This issue is brought before Ezra and Ezra reacts, verses three and four: "As soon as I heard this I tore my garment and my cloak

and pulled my hair from my head and beard and sat appalled.

Then all who trembled at the words of the God of Israel because of the faithlessness of the returned exiles, gathered around me while I

sat appalled until the evening sacrifice."

Big emotional tailspin, you're riding this crest everything looks good and all of a sudden they come and they blindside you with this reality.

[whiz-noise] Down you go. Can anybody relate to that? You didn't have to raise your hands, but yeah.

Some of you did just out of instinct, because it's something you can very much relate to, isn't it?

That all of a sudden the rug gets pulled out from under you. Or something is revealed to you. You go "Oooo!"

You're shocked. You're stunned. And you grieve. You grieve. This is grieving. He is in shock. And he goes into mourning.

He tears his garments. He pulls his hair from his head and his beard. He sits appalled. He sits in mourning.

He sits grieving for what should be that is not.

Verse five: "And at the evening sacrifice

I rose from my fasting, with my garment and cloak torn, and fell upon my knees and

spread out my hands to the Lord my God, saying: 'O my God,

I am ashamed and blush to lift my face to you, my God, for our

iniquities have risen higher than our heads, and our guilt has mounted up to the heavens.

From the days of our fathers to this day

we have been in great guilt. And for our iniquities

we, our kings, and our priests have been given into the hand of the kings of the lands, to the sword,

to captivity, to plundering, and to utter shame, as it is today."

Anybody pick up on a few things here?

Did Ezra do any of this stuff? Uh-uh.

So why is he embarrassed? Why is he ashamed?

Because he counts himself as part of those who did. This is called corporate responsibility. Group responsibility.

Because we're associated with this group that has done this, you, too, are by association guilty. Remember Achan and his sin?

I know, I preached on that a long time ago.

But not only that

But he is the head of the exiles. He's the head of those returning. So he's taking what's called federal responsibility.

As the head of these people, he's responsible for everything they do.

And sometimes when the people sin the head needs to repent on behalf of the people. Moses does this on behalf of Israel all the time in the wilderness, doesn't he?

Daniel did that. We talked about that last week.

So he counts himself among them

even though he wasn't one of those who actually did it.

And he's also including that which had gone before which none of the people who are alive were involved in.

He talks about the sins of their kings. They hadn't had a king in over seventy years!

And they never had a king again until Jesus came. Even then they didn't recognize him. That's a whole 'nother series of sermons.

He takes responsibility for that which had gone on before.

Which is why I've been pressing this issue of having to repent for things that have gone on before.

Because it matters and it affects us down to this day.

Just like the sins of the fathers, right?

And some of us have come out of really damaged families -- the kinds that put the fun in the dysfunctional.

And we know that some of the things we do are a direct result of some of the kookiness

that our families were involved in, right?

We can't escape it. It's kind of what made us who we are or good or for ill as Joe pointed out: tenacity, stubbornness, obstinacy

It's great in certain situations, but sometimes you hold on long after the expiration date

and things really go south fast and you get caught up in that meat grinder.

That's one good drawbacks of being tenacious: sometimes you don't know when it is that

it's over, it's done, let it go, let it die, because it's just going to chew you up all the more.

Don't ask me why I know that. Our folks can be a little stubborn, too, but I'm not Scottish.

Those who were still around well after most of us had broken from the fellowship time last week.

I read a bit from Narnia. In the Narnia series.

This one being the Voyage of the Dawn Treader

And

rather than read the passage

I'll make reference to it. You can find it later. In this edition it's in 115. This is like the set of seven books

that comes in a nice little box.

Eustace, the cousin of the Pevensies,

has, well,

stumbled on a dragon's treasure and taken a bracelet and

claimed it as his own. Long story short: because he's coveted this dragon's treasure,

he himself becomes a dragon.

And as a dragon, he grows. He grows, but the bracelet doesn't. It's very painful and

and he realizes his mistake, but it's too late. But he thinks:

Hey, I'm a dragon. Dragons are reptiles. Because he's a very advanced young boy because of the way he was raised by his parents

and realizes that, well, if a snake can shed its skin,

a dragon being a reptile, maybe he - I can shed my skin. And he finds out -- Yeah, he can do this. And he sheds the skin and

It's still kind -- he's still a dragon underneath.

Well, let me try it again.

I mean, he does us three or four times and realizes that he can not shed his dragonhood.

He can shed the outside skin, and his new skin, but he cannot shed his dragonhood.

And enter Aslan: "Let me do it." And Aslan takes his claw, and starts ripping [sound of tapping on mic]

Eustace's skin, and it hurts like the dickens. How did Lewis phrase that?

>> AUDIENCE MEMBER: Billy-oh.

>> PASTOR MOE: Yeah, billy-oh. It hurt like the billy-oh. [sound of something being struck] It's painful.

Shedding that dragon's skin is painful.

I wish Deb was here.

I picked on her last week, again, when everybody was gone, about

the pain of going back and visiting some of the stuff that this church has been through, and some of the stuff that has been hoisted on it by

by some of the leadership, which I'll get into some someday.

Yeah, it's not all the congregation, believe me.

It's painful, but if you come in and you've got say

Your tibia and fibula broken,

one of the bones is sticking out. There's no way to set that bone properly without causing more pain.

It just doesn't happen.

It's not that you want to cause pain. It's not that you intend to cause pain.

but you do try to do it in a way that the pain is minimized, so that ultimately

the pain that would result from not dealing with it, goes away.

So, I don't want to cause more pain than necessary,

but this whole business of repenting, this whole business of getting healed, this whole business of becoming whole once again,

is a painful thing.

And I know some of the pain that I personally have had to go through as I have grown in healing for myself --

some of the stuff that had held me back from what God wanted in my life.

And that's an ongoing thing. It just don't necessarily happen overnight. Anybody here dive? .. Bummer.

Anybody here know anything about diving -- deep water diving? ... not totally.

Eric, Joe, Chris. Yeah when you dive deeply and

it's over, it's time to come back up. You just come right back to the surface, right?

>> AUDIENCE MEMBER: No. >> PASTOR MOE: Uh-uh. And one abstention. Why?

>> AUDIENCE MEMBER: Pressure. >> PASTOR MOE: Pressure.

What happens if you come up too fast? >> AUDIENCE MEMBER: You got a problem.

>> PASTOR MOE: Yeah, Houston, we've got a serious problem. A fatal -- a potentially fatal problem. People have died, not from the dive, but from surfacing.

So sometimes God brings us up little by little by little by little,

because to bring us up any faster will kill us. This is why we can't just okay

that was then, this is now. Let's just cut our losses and move on.

That'll kill us.

Witness that in our own lives, when we just try to pack something away and think it's over and done.

So sometimes God works by little by little by little. It's a longer process. But in the long run

it's a lot safer, it's a lot healthier, and there will be health and wellness.

Jumping down to verse 8, and 12, 8 through 12 and further on:

Ezra eventually acknowledges God's patience,

His care, I mean, he does not try to pretend that they haven't done this.

He comes clean before God. He says, we've done this.

But You are merciful. You are giving. You are just.

And who are we? Lord? Verse 13, You have even "punished us less than other iniquities deserved ..."

Shall we break Your commandments again?

And intermarry with people who practice these abominations because You told us specifically not to do this, and we have done them anyway.

He admits that their guilt is deserved and finishes, in verse 15, with an appeal to God's justice:

"O Lord, the God of Israel, you are just,

for we are left today a remnant that has escaped.

Behold, we are before you in our guilt, for none can stand before you because of this."

China, U.S. to hold next round of trade talks in late August - Duration: 1:55.

A high-level Chinese delegation will travel to the U.S. in the coming days for trade talks

after being invited by the Trump administration.

The crunch visit comes as the two biggest economic superpowers remain locked in an increasingly

bitter trade war.

Lee Seung-jae reports.

A statement by the Chinese Ministry of Commerce on Thursday said it will hold a fresh round

of trade talks with U.S. officials in Washington before the end of the month.

The move offers a glimmer of hope for progress in resolving the massive trade conflict between

the two multi-trillion dollar economies.

The ministry says the Chinese delegation, led by Vice Minister of Commerce Wang Shouwen,

will meet with American representatives led by U.S.

Under Secretary of Treasury for International Affairs David Malpass.

It's unclear whether the trade talks will take place before or after August 23rd,...

which is when Washington is due to activate additional tariffs on 16-billion dollars of

Chinese goods,... an action Beijing has vowed to respond in kind to immediately.

The two countries have implemented several rounds of tit-for-tat tariffs on each others

goods since the start of the year, and have threatened further tariffs on exports worth

hundreds of billions of dollars.

The last round of talks took place in early June,... when U.S. Commerce Secretary Wilbur

Ross met Chinese Vice Premier Liu He in Beijing.

However, the upcoming meeting is lower-level compared to the four previous rounds of negotiations.

The Chinese government did not say what topics would be discussed at the upcoming meeting,

but reiterated Beijing's stance that it opposes "unilateralism and trade protectionism."

The U.S. Treasury Department wasn't available for comment.

A dream that no longer can come true for elderly displaced people of 'Abai Village' - Duration: 2:43.

Heartwarming news for scores of Korean War-separated families who are setting off soon to reunite

with their long-lost families in North Korea.

But for most elderly people, meeting their relatives one last time is nothing more than

a dream.

And sadly for many of those in ' Abai Village', it's a dream that will never come true.

Our Cha Sang-mi is in the city of Sokcho near the inter-Korean border to hear their stories.

68 years have passed since the Korean War broke out, tearing people away from their

families and leaving them separated in two different countries.

Many people from the North fled during the war to a place on the east coast just over

the border... called Cheongho-dong.

"However, this place is more widely known as 'Abai Village', which comes from the Hamgyeong-do

dialect meaning "an aged father" -- referring to the numerous elderly residents who escaped

to the area."

Abai Village is only around 50 kilometers away from the Demilitarized Zone.

It's also close to Mt. Kumgang where the reunions of separated families will take place next

week.

According to the people in town, Abai was a sandy beach back in the 1950's, not a place

where people lived.

But that first winter they pitched tents for themselves and endured the cold.

They say there's a reason why they chose this place in particular.

"We stayed here near the border so that we could go back home when the war was over.

Most of these people here, though -- the first generation of refugees -- are dead now.

You see the red line?"

Hundreds of the displaced settled down in Abai Village, not knowing that the war would

end in a truce and separate them from their families forever.

Kim says they once had hope, but as they grew older, their memories of their hometown also

began to fade.

A ninety-three-year-old woman I met near the parking lot, says she doesn't want to apply

for the reunions.

It would just make things complicated.

"I fled Sinchang when I was 22.

We left behind a three-year-old daughter.

Do I want to register for a reunion?

No, it's meaningless now."

Lee seemed reluctant to even think of the baby girl...

whose memory she had buried deep down.

The local public hall where the elderly refugees used to gather is now empty.

Before long, it seems, Abai Village will be no more... its people having lived out their

lives in a place they never expected to go.

Cha Sang-mi, Arirang News, Sokcho.

Making a Picture Frame - Duration: 10:30.

In the previous video, we made this miter sled for the table saw.

Now we're going to put it to use and make some picture frames.

First I cut down the thicker strips of walnut that would make the inside of the frame.

Then I cut thin strips of walnut and maple

I glued together the pieces and let them sit

You can never have too many clamps

With a hand plane, I quickly smoothed out the frame pieces

The table saw was the fastest way to make rabbets

The miter sled cuts the perfect corners

I marked the size based on the matte

I like to mark the ends with which side of the sled I cut them on

The ends are really thirsty, so I spread some glue on them with my finger first

Then I use painters tape to join the corners. I find I have better luck with it than a band clamp.

With two 'L' pieces glued, I could glue the other two corners to join it all

I had to pull out my old spline jig, which was covered in cobwebs

Mitered corners are weak, so splines give them a lot of strength

I cut splines with scraps of maple

and thinned them to the right size

My table saw blade isn't a flat grind, so smoothing the cuts is necessary

The bandsaw is great for cutting splines

but don't forget to put the guard down

Some of the splines were really tight and needed some persuasion to get in place

A flush-cut saw saves a lot of sanding later

Whoops, I had a gap, but a little glue and sawdust fixed that

I worked from 120 grit

to 3000 grit

and cleaned it off with mineral spirits

My measurements were bad, so I decided to cut the matte

...but I forgot about the glass, which I didn't want to cut

I couldn't use a marking guage

so I just used a chisel and a cutoff

I marked the ends to avoid splitting past them

And aggressively chopped out the wood

Finally, the glass fits

Just a little spray lacquer

And now slow motion so you can see the evil can spitting on my beautiful frame

:(

Yuck

Time for more sanding!

Not trusting the lacquer, I thought to use polyurethane instead

...but it was completely solid

I bought a fresh can of spray lacquer from the store instead

I taped the photo to the matte

And dropped it in place

These point drivers are really nice

Especially because you can bend the points back to actually put the correct piece of cardboard backing in the frame

Much better

The paper wasn't long enough, but I just cut two strips

Wood glue worked fine since I was out of spray adhesive

I guess at some point I bought this overly fancy hanger system

It worked fine

I put those little cabinet door pads on the bottom

Now that we've finished making all our mistakes, we have a picture frame.

I think overall it turned out really well.

It's obvious that the bottom piece of maple is a little too thick.

I'm not sure how that happened, but I'm still happy with the overall frame.

The miters turned out excellent, which I think means our jig from last time is working as it should.

The splines, uh, I should have spent a little bit more time making sure they were exactly flat,

so I had to fill in a few gaps with sawdust,

but I think they look okay.

The big mistake that I made really was rushing my measurements

and I got the rabbets wrong,

so it was a little too wide of an opening in the back and not quite tall enough.

Initially I thought this would be fine because I could just cut the matte down by a quarter of an inch

and that would be okay except the problem was I wasn't thinking about the glass pane.

I didn't want to cut off a quarter of an inch of glass because I thought it was,

I don't know, with the way my luck was going it was probably going to break in the wrong direction.

So I decided to extend out the rabbet and get things to fit that way.

That meant the back was a little bit rough, but since I could put paper over it, it didn't matter too much.

When I was finishing it with the spray lacquer,

the spray lacquer decided to become spit lacquer and put some big globs on it.

I'm not sure if other people would have noticed,

but I certainly did,

so I took the time to sand it down,

get some new spray lacquer, and re-finish it.

I think that was probably the right call even if it was a little frustrating.

Tottenham transfer news: 'Alderweireld will leave to get big contract' - Jenas EXCLUSIVE - Duration: 2:27.

That is according to former Tottenham, Newcastle and England midfielder Jermaine Jenas

Alderweireld was strongly linked with a move to Manchester United during the summer transfer window but they failed to make an offer for the Belgium centre-half

It means Tottenham face having to sell Alderweireld to a foreign club before the European transfer window closes at the end of the month if they want to make significant money on the 29-year-old

Alderweireld has one year left on his contract but has a £25million release clause which can be activated next summer

For now, Alderweireld remains a Spurs player and manager Mauricio Pochettino left him on the bench of their opening game against Newcastle

And Jenas admits he is concerned about the situation with Alderweireld and predicted the defender will eventually leave Spurs

He told Express Sport: "I worry about that situation. "I think if anybody is going to be gone in terms of the window still being open in Europe, he would be the one that possibly does go

"I've always hoped he would be the one that stayed but I get Toby's situation. "He's coming to the end of his career, he wants that big contract, he deserves that big contract and he's going to get that big contract

"And if Tottenham aren't the club to do it, he'll wait and get it elsewhere." Jermaine Jenas was speaking at the launch of the Premier League Interactive Watchface for TAG Heuer Connected Modular owners and the extension of TAG Heuer's partnership as Official Timekeeper of the Premier League

The TAG Heuer Premier League watchface is available on Google Play for Connected watch owners to download for free
