Youtube daily report w Jan 18 2019

In today's instalment of Nga Tui a Rehua,

we meet the talented Taumata sisters,

Te Kahureremoa and Oriwia.

The pair are known as 'E Ko'.

In this feature story, we unearth the reasons

why traditional Maori music

is such an important component of their compositions.

Hi, I'm Oriwia Taumata.

I'm Te Kahureremoa Taumata.

This is my older sister so we have the same iwi.

Ngati Kahungunu on our mothers side.

Tuwharetoa on our fathers side.

We always try and sing all the time.

Our daughters are growing up in our house

that's filled with musical instruments.

And from there we thought let's start up a band.

That's where it started.

It came from our dad as he taught me how to play guitar

and after that I went to a full emmersion Maori school

where we were taught kapa haka.

Our family is like the Maori von Trapp's.

You know the movie The Sound of Music?

And that family - the von Trapp's?

We the Taumata family are the Maori von Trapp's.

We grew up around Maori music and Maori instruments.

Our father would always play the Hirini Melbourne albums.

Our younger sister was born to that album.

And our mother would say,

'If I hear that album one more time, I'll kill your father'.

Music is always the main aim.

Everyday, no matter what and that's it.

If it's heard or an album is released - that's great.

But we want to make music together forever, no matter what.

Adrien's so funny...

Aren't you going to miss this?

Well, yeah...

Well look at him. I'm really going to miss this guy.

Listen, I'm moving to Nantes.

It's not like I'm moving to Mexico.

I mean, I'll come back on weekends...

No, I know you'll come back on weekends,

that's not the problem. I think you made the right choice,

it's just that I really want us to stay together.

Hey, don't worry, I didn't mean anything by it.

I didn't mean to annoy you.

No, it doesn't annoy me, I want us to stay together too.

I just don't want to talk about it right now, it stresses me out.

All right, then we won't talk about it right now.

Come on.

- Take this. - No, I was really comfortable here.

Take this...

AT DAWN

Where are we going?

I don't know. It'll be just the two of us.

Aurore, Simon!

Wait up!

You've got to be kidding me...

What do you want?

Get off man!

Get off!

You were talking to Mélanie, you were busy!

Who cares about Mélanie, you're the one who's leaving!

Get off!

Come here!

If you're up for it, let's go.

What are you doing?

Come on! Hurry up!

- What are you doing man? - Don't worry about it!

It's a bit weird, right?

Yeah, I agree.

Simon...

Simon, are you listening? I told you it's out of gas.

No kidding, it's out of gas.

Thanks for your help.

What's your problem, man?

Are you serious? Can't you tell what the problem is?

Someone at the party must've noticed we went missing.

Yeah, unless they thought we left early.

The party was just getting started.

And we left our clothes. Someone must've found them.

Hey, look at me.

We took all the alcohol.

No way they didn't notice.

Well maybe not you guys, but...

Mélanie for sure looked all over for me.

You don't know how she was looking at me.

I could see love in her eyes. True love...

I tried to kiss her and she turned me down.

But that's only because she's a bit shy.

She wants me! For sure!

Shut up, man.

Simon, stop.

That's really stupid.

I'm so thirsty.

Yeah listen, we're all thirsty.

She's right, man. It'll only make it worse.

I can't stand looking at all this water.

Buddy, listen, it's a nice day.

You're with your friend, your girlfriend. There's nothing to do anyway.

Please can you stop the drumming? My head's going to explode.

Calm down!

The coast guard is on its way, we just have to relax.

Can I sing?

Can I dance?

Move over!

Where the hell is the coast guard?

We're on a tiny boat in the middle of nowhere,

it's just going to take some time.

Yeah, but how long?

How long? How can you be sure?

- What are you doing? - Stop it!

What are you doing?

We've got to relax

We've got to stick together.

Just breathe, breathe, breathe...

Simon, stop, stop.

It's fine, it's fine.

Calm down!

I can't piss.

Give it to me, I'll try first.

Here, go ahead since you're smarter than everybody else.

What's up with you?

What's up is that it's your fault we're here like a bunch of idiots.

What do you mean it's my fault?

Of course it's your fault.

Who had the stupid idea of getting on the boat?

"Hey let's go on the boat..."

Screw you! No one forced you to get on the boat!

I didn't start the engine, either, so shut up.

Cut it out!

We're not going to fight over this.

It's my fault, if you like.

I just wanted you to have fun for once,

and stop worrying about everything all the time.

A boat! There's a boat!

Are you serious?

It's a cargo ship and it's way too far.

I don't know. We can still swim to it.

Hey! Adrien?

Even I know it's too far.

Are we supposed to stay here and do nothing?

Simon!

Simon! Come back!

- Simon! - Come back!

What the hell was that?

Simon, what's that on your shoulder?

What's that?

What? What is it?

Adrien get out of the water!

What is it?

What is it?

I thought something stung you.

You're really getting on my nerves! Seriously!

She's been doing that all night.

Aurore, what are you doing?

Aurore!

- Let me go! Let me go! - Give me that thing!

Let me go!

Are you crazy? Do you realize you almost popped the boat?

I swear I saw something! I swear!

Give it to me!

I swear I saw something there!

There's nothing there!

Nothing!

You've got to stop Aurore.

You're freaking us out.

Did you do that?

Answer me.

Did you do that?

Aurore, answer me. Did you do that?

Simon...

Simon, answer me.

Blood pressure, 9.6.

Sir, can you hear me?

Try not to move. Calm down.

Can you tell me your name, sir?

Look at me. Look at me.

Can you tell me your name?

Calm down.

Sir, there were three of you on the boat?

Relax.

Relax.

I don't understand how she could have fallen off.

I swear I didn't see anything.

I know.

Hasan Kızıl ( Hayat Tamircisi ) - Fark Yaratanlar - Duration: 4:36.

The name of the dog you're watching is Eylem.

A while ago, he was injured in a car crash in Kastamonu and can't use his hind legs.

There's a man working with all his power for animals like Eylem,…

...injured due to different reasons, to re-embrace life with hope.

His name is Hasan Kızıl and he's only 23 years old.

He is known by everyone as the Life Mender.

On a winter night, a cat got stuck in our guest's car.

And I didn't get a chance to take it to the vet that night.

That's where his back got broken.

Morning came, and immediately I started visiting vet after vet but nobody could understand the case.

Then, while I was going around unfortunately the cat died in my arms and I was incredibly upset.

I came home and started research on what I could do for disabled animals.

And I saw walkers and prostheses abroad.

Then, scrutinizing the drafts, I said "Why don't I also do this?"

At first, I had this toy car sitting on my shelf.

I broke it and made it into this mini walker.

Of course, I had to try that walker.

So, I could see if I was going to be successful or not.

One day when I was walking by the door of a restaurant in Old Town of Mardin, …

... I saw a baby kitten whose hind legs didn't hold.

Immediately I took it.

Meaning, I said "Could it be mine?"

"Of course, you can take it." they said.

I came home, and I was really excited.

I'm running home wanting to try that walker.

We came in, I put it in the walker and it immediately started running.

It started being boisterous…

…and started playing games.

And yes, that day I discovered my source of happiness.

Then of course it started to become addictive.

"Why shouldn't I reach more disabled animals?" I said.

Hasan Kızıl initially made the walkers he designed for animals…

...by breaking up wheeled paraphernalia he found at home like the toy car.

Then he also started making prosthesis for the animals with the emergence of supporting companies.

Experts in the field also support the walkers Hasan Kızıl makes.

Think of it as it is with humans; you are providing a paralyzed person with mobility.

It is as important to provide a dog with mobility.

Thanks to the walker, we can prevent the weakening of muscles in accordance with their existing mobility,…

…what we call "muscle atrophy", for these friends of ours who are partially paralyzed.

Other than that, because normally other body muscles are also working,…

…the animal collapsing somewhere and consequently losing all its mobility over time is also prevented.

Further, this is a happiness to the animal and allows it to play with its other friends; these are very important things.

They are also living beings and need these things.

Therefore, this provides possibilities to connect to life and continue life well.

The Life Mender touched the lives of nearly 300 animals to this day, from eagles to turtles, dogs to cats.

Hasan Kızıl's story is read in 3rd grade textbooks in schools.

Kızıl also won many awards with his work.

I get incredibly emotional at every walker trial and every prosthesis trial.

When I see their first steps, it's the biggest gain for me anyway.

And the reason I give these away for free, I mean I've put together a few pieces of iron for the real owners of this planet, this is nothing.

The Life Mender Hasan Kızıl connected disabled animals to life at time when even animals without disabilities have difficulty living.

He became their hope.

He made a huge difference in the lives of the animals we live with on earth.

5 Things House Cleaners Don't Want You to Know - Duration: 7:59.

There are five things that you need to know about house cleaners.

When I share these five things with you, I'm going to be really unpopular with a lot of

house cleaners, but as a homeowner, you have the right to know, so here we go.

Hi there.

I'm Angela Brown and this is Ask A House Cleaner.

This is a show where you get to ask a house cleaning question

and I get to help you find an answer.

Today's show is brought to us by SavvyPerks.com

Savvy Perks is a discount membership, and did you know if you're a small business owner,

you qualify.

This is a package that was put together for major corporations but it is offered to our

network of savvy cleaners.

Okay, so, as a savvy cleaner, as a savvy business owner, you can save money.

It's a discount membership.

You can save money on things like your year-end taxes.

As we're getting ready to go into the end of the year, and we're getting ready to put

all of our taxes together and hire a tax accountant or hire a tax service, you can save an enormous

amount of money on your taxes with your Savvy Perks membership.

The money you save will more than cover your entire year membership of Savvy Perks.

Check it out at SavvyPerks.com

Okay.

Onto today's show which is five things that you need to know about house cleaners.

Now, it's easy to assume that all house cleaners are professionals, but they're not.

Here's what you need to know.

There are a lot of people that have either been fired from their jobs or they quit their

jobs, and they've fallen on hard times, and they've decided to go into housecleaning because

it seems like it's the wisp of the quick buck.

I can jump in.

I can clean a few houses.

I can make a little bit of money and get back on my feet.

There are a lot of people that jump into the housecleaning business and they have no training

whatsoever.

They don't want you to know this, but when they come to bid a job, you might be the first

house they've ever bid.

They don't necessarily know what they're doing.

You need to know that.

There is a series of questions you can ask them to qualify them, but as a homeowner,

you need to qualify your house cleaner.

The next thing that you need to know about some house cleaners is some of them have never

passed a background check.

There's no drug check.

There's no background check.

There's no job history check.

There's no thorough investigation that they're actually who they say they are, and so you

need to do your due diligence, because if you have a house cleaner that comes to your

house and they're not insured, and they're not trained, and they haven't had a drug or

a background check, and they're not who they say they are, you could be letting a perfect

stranger into your home, and who knows what.

They've got your alarm code.

They've got a house key.

They know where you live.

They see pictures around your house of your family.

Not cool.

You've really got to do your due diligence, and this is a thing that a lot of house cleaners

don't want you to know.

Another thing that house cleaners don't want you to know, is that some of them don't actually

know how to clean.

This is a little crazy, but they come in and they spritz.

What that means is they bring like Febreze, or Pine Sol, and they spritz it in the air

so the house smells clean.

They're sitting there reading your books and they're doing other things, and they're not

necessarily cleaning your house.

It's great if you ask them for a checklist.

A lot of professional house cleaners have a checklist.

They will check off what they do.

It's a satisfaction guarantee.

If a cleaning company comes to you and they don't offer a satisfaction guarantee, walk

away, because they're not guaranteeing the work.

When you come home from work, you need to be able to see and know what they've done.

A checklist helps you do that.

Because if they come on a regular basis and they're maintaining everything, you may not

necessarily notice, but they've checked the things off that they've done.

If they're just coming, and they're dusting a few main items, and they're running a few

carpet lines on the floor, and spritzing stuff into the air, you might be paying for a whole

lot more than what you're actually getting.

Some house cleaners don't want you to know that they don't actually know how to clean at all.

You need to have a checklist or something.

Okay.

Another thing they don't want you to know is a lot of house cleaners eat your food.

It's true.

I hear all kinds of stories about house cleaners and it's a little frightening where they will

eat some of your cold cereal, and then they shake the box up so it doesn't look like some is gone.

Or, they'll drink sodas and things out of your fridge.

They might eat sandwiches or make things out of your pantry or your kitchen because they're

hungry and I don't know what, you know?

But, you need to have rules in place that hey, this is my house.

I'm on a budget for my groceries.

I'm not fixing lunch here.

You need to have rules in place.

But some house cleaners don't want you to know that you're their meal ticket, so they're

going to come to your house, and they're going to find some food, and they're going to make

themselves some sandwiches or ramen noodles or whatever, and then hey, your groceries

are their groceries.

Another thing that house cleaners don't want you to know is that some of them are not confidential.

They come to your house and while they're cleaning, they see and they hear things.

They see that you have past overdue notices.

Some of them actually rifle through your mail, and then some of them hear you over-talking

on the telephone, and they hear you fighting, and maybe you have late due payments, or maybe

you're cursing at someone and they know that you're fighting, and maybe you and your spouse

are not getting along.

That's not their business, but a lot of house cleaners will go and they tell other people.

"Oh, you're not going to believe what Mrs. Jones did," and then they nark on the neighbors.

They're telling your neighbors about your personal business.

They're not confidential at all.

It's really important that when you hire a house cleaner, you hire the confidence of

the person that's going to keep your family secrets.

I'm not saying you should have big, family secrets, but every family would like to keep

a few things private from the general public.

They don't want things posted on Facebook.

They don't want social media to know.

They don't want their neighbors to know.

These are personal, everyday things that you have a right to your own privacy.

There are some house cleaners that don't know how to do that, so when a house cleaner comes

to your house and they're bidding their contract and they're giving you a job estimate, listen

to the things that they say.

Are they talking about other homes that they've cleaned?

You might even cue them in.

Say, "Hey, tell me about one of your favorite houses."

Then listen to the words and the choices of words that they use.

Are they talking about people in generic terms?

"There's one family that's just an amazing family and here's what I like best."

"Oh, but there's this one family," and listen to the words they say.

Are they narking on the neighbors?

Are they are rat-a-tat telling on the neighbors?

Are they sharing information that should not be shared?

Just pay extra close attention to that.

Those are five things that house cleaners don't want you to know that you kind of need

to know before you hire house cleaner, because a lot of house cleaners, even though they're

not going to come in and rob you blind, they may not be the right house cleaner for you

at all, right?

It might be that you're just their next car payment or whatever.

Be very careful about the house cleaners you hire, because there needs to be an industry

standard and there's not.

If I do my job correctly, we're going to try to get everybody bonded, and everybody insured,

and everybody trained, and everybody playing on the same page and having boundaries, and

checklists and all these things.

It's about creating consistency across the board so that as homeowners, you don't get

screwed.

Alright, I know this is going to make me really unpopular with even a lot of my friends, but

it's important that, as a homeowner, you have this insight information.

Alrighty?

I hope this helps a little bit.

If it does, pass it on to a friend.

Share it with your mommy and me groups.

Share it with your other Facebook groups.

Until we meet again,

leave the world a cleaner place than when you found it.

Liverpool transfer news: Jurgen Klopp gives green light to let TWO players leave - Duration: 4:12.

That's according to The Times.  The pair are both of contract at Anfield and have only fulfilled back-up roles in Jurgen Klopp's squad over the last 12 months

Moreno was restored as first-choice left-back for a brief spell at the start of last season before injury in December 2017 allowed Andy Robertson to come into the team and nail down the position

The Spaniard has since managed just 12 appearances since then with just four Premier League starts, all coming in games in which Klopp rotated his team

The Times report that Moreno is likely to return to La Liga, having come through Sevilla's academy before a £12

5million switch to Merseyside in the summer of 2014 under Brendan Rodgers. Speaking out on his situation, Moreno recently lamented Klopp to Spanish outlet Ondacero

He said: "I didn't feel [the decision to stick with Robertson] well, I was injured giving my best for our team

"I disliked Klopp's decision because I was training but when I returned he only wanted Robertson

"My relationship with Klopp hasn't changed but since this injury, I didn't have a meeting with him but our relationship is normal

"I disliked the way that Klopp has treated me but I understand his situation that he can't change [Robertson] because the team is winning

" Yet despite the reports from the Times, Moreno declared that Liverpool suggested they could pen the much-maligned 26-year-old to a new deal at Liverpool

He added: "Liverpool has proposed renewing me but no agreement has been reached. "To this day we have nothing closed neither with Liverpool nor with other clubs

" Sturridge, meanwhile, has seen his past three-and-a-half seasons struck by consistent injuries, although he has regained fitness this season

But with Roberto Firmino, Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane all sure-fire starters, Sturridge has continued to have to settle for a bench role

Earlier this season the striker impressed and supplied important goals in a Champions League win over Paris Saint-Germain and a stunning late equaliser to preserve a point away at rivals Chelsea

But the 29-year-old has since gone 11 games without finding the back of the net, turning in a particularly disappointing display during the Reds' FA Cup loss at Wolves

And with his wages rumoured to be around £120,000-a-week, Liverpool will also the former England international to leave the club

Sturridge's future is also uncertain with disciplinary proceedings yet to be settled

He has until February to respond to charges of misconduct from the Football Association related to gambling and could face anything from a fine and a warning to a lengthy suspension if found guilty of a rule breach

With Sturridge leaving in the summer and Divock Origi's long-term prospects at Liverpool also bleak, it is likely Klopp will recruit fresh firepower up top

Meaningful vote, Adamowicz, and the Eurozone turns 20 (Tweets of the Week, S2 E17) - Duration: 3:58.

Welcome to EURACTIV's Tweets of the Week.

This week Theresa May is thrashed by her peers

mayor's murder brings Gdansk to tears

and the Euro celebrates some 20 years.

This week we are supported by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.

More about them at the end.

On Tuesday Theresa May suffered a humiliating rejection of her Brexit deal

by MPs in the so-called Meaningful Vote in the House of Commons.

Danny Kemp feels that two years reporting on all those crucial Brussels negotiations

may have been wasted time.

Jon Worth can't get his head around it asking how CAN she carry on?

Well Jon, watch this space.

Because she survived the vote of no confidence on Wednesday, comfortably.

Yeah, makes no sense to me either!

"We still have time to negotiate," said Angela Merkel

continuing her campaign to be named Most Unflappable Person in Europe

for the 11th year in a row, reported Damon Wake.

But with a no deal looming ever larger, many people's thoughts have turned to food.

James Felton doesn't want to alarm anyone, but the people responsible for getting food

if there's no deal are already guarding donuts with a machine gun.

Judith Evans at the FT says a sad but entertaining sideshow of the Brexit debacle

is watching the various business groups try to come up with new language

to describe how utterly furious they are.

A prize to the first one that gives in and just starts swearing.

And in response to the Greens in the European Parliament saying the time for games is over,

spoof account Martini Seltzermayr asked what game they've been playing

because it sure as f*** isn't Diplomacy.

Quite.

In other sad news, Pawel Adamowicz, mayor of Gdansk died after he was stabbed on stage

at a charity concert in front of thousands of people on Sunday.

Many people took to the streets and to Twitter to mourn his passing.

Michael Schneider, President of EPP in the Committee of the Regions said he was

a true defender of EU values and democracy.

Council President Donald Tusk described Adamowicz as a man of solidarity and freedom

a European, and a friend.

Finally, this week the euro celebrated its 20th birthday!

Committee of the Regions President Karl-Heinz Lambertz‏ said it was a symbol of unity,

cooperation, stability and strength.

But more importantly it's nice not to have four currencies in your pocket.

Gareth Harding was less convinced.

Since the euro, the EU has been ripped apart by divisions,

voters have revolted against the loss of sovereignty

and Europe has had the worst economic crisis in its history.

Some unity!

Martini Seltzermayr‏ was more prosaic.

Currencies do not celebrate birthdays, he said.

Well tell that to the MEPs blowing their own trumpets and belting out the Ode to Joy.

Yeah, the euro is definitely not a cult, said the FT's Mehreen Khan.

Definitely not.

Probably not.

Maybe.

And in further evidence of currency celebration, Oliver Moody, The Times Berlin correspondent

shared this image of a new memorial coin celebrating 70 years of currywurst.

Thanks for that Oliver!

Now that image is seared on my brain.

Chen & Baekhyun - Really I Didn't Know [ENG SUB] | Immortal Songs 2 | REACTION ❤️ - Duration: 11:25.

Hello! Today we have EXO and if you are new to this channel we know nothing

about EXO but the two that are going to sing today are named Baekhyun

and Chen, I don't know who they are I have never really listened to EXO before but

if you want us to react more to EXO all you need to do is HIT THAT

SUBSCRIBE BUTTON and maybe in the Bell if you are crazy enough and suggest us

anything from EXO or other group we have done Mamamoo recently and Red Velvet

so we're getting into these k-pop group we already do a lot of soloist like ALi, Ailee,

So Hyang, Kim Jin Ho and more but now we're doing more into the group so stay

with us cause a lot more will be coming soon

so we have a more Immortal Songs 2 that show is crazy

we react to that show all the time we have a playlist with a lot of songs from that

show amazing. Today EXO not gonna waste any more of your time

let's get started!

Ohhh, I hope they are not too nervous!

Wow who's that guy he's crazy!

Wait! I know EXO they have some member from China!

I'm not sure Chen if he's from China.

That guy is crazy, Chen?

They other guy is really good too, a bit breathy but

this one wow this one is crazy this one is next level unbelievable!

I'm sorry but this guy is crazy... I said it before right... Chen is crazy, his high notes are unbelievable!

He's a strong singer regardless if he's in

a group or not. I don't know how many members they have but (a lot actually) this guy

Chen is crazy giving me goosebumps the high note he's crazy, is he like some of

the main vocalist or something like that guys please tell us more about this

group but this guy Shen is he the most popular or something we react to a lot of

male solo vocalists from Korea and China he's up there it could be on his own if

he wanted because his voice is like that. They other one he feel a bit younger to

me I don't know he is still... the other one one his still extremely good like I

thought it was gonna be less good because it's a band and usually in a boy band

like that they're gonna be good together but individually they're not gonna be at

that level as like solo vocalists but these two could easily go solo and it

would work so I'm kind of impressed by this group right now.

WOOOOO!!!!! THAT WAS UNBELIEVABLE!

What do you think?

I like to steal Maxim words... unbelievable!

Because this is the first time I did not expect that the guy from k-pop group

like that gonna make a really incredible job my god and I used to know EXO back

then maybe five years ago when they have 11 member I'm not really sure actually um I

like one guy but he's from China he's already expelled I don't know he's not

here anymore but I don't really followed them anymore so

I don't know what's going on about them and then I never listened to the song

when they sing slow song like that so that one is kind of impressive and... they are

high class high level for me they can be a really in the top for me especially the guy

Chen but the other one Baekhyun I also um his name really remind me about

something oh no I think his name it look really familiar I think I really

have heard him name from somewhere Baekhyun I think he's the main vocalist

and also Chen too.

So i'm wrong then!

I mean...

I thought Chen was the stronger of the two so I thought he would like the main main... whatever it mean, Vocalist.

Yeah because back then they have like two part of EXO like this one gonna be the

lead vocalist and this one is gonna be the lead vocalist but back then but

I don't know about right now Baekhyun is kind of famous because his name is here

it's stuck in my ear but Chen I'm not really sure... - so which one you like best

from what you saw... if you compare - They are kind of different I can't choose one is

like you said more younger. - I feel like the younger one was a bit more emotional

that's why he was a bit breathy so he was a bit emotional. The other one seem like he was stronger vocally

When he seemed like the leaf falling from the tree something like that

I know I know that a lot of reactor react to

EXO so I... did not want to do EXO because I was like everyone is doing EXO

What time is it right now 6 am. So yeah everyone is doing EXO already so i'm like

Naaaaaa, i'm not gonna do we're not gonna do EXO because everyone is doing it look

like cheap to get views but at one point we're not gonna do EXO everyday you

know we're still gonna... we still want to do different group from Korea. Keep doing

the suggestion and if people give us a good reaction and like us and they watch

the video and they ask question and stuff like that it's good engagement. What we don't want

is people to just drop a link you know just they drop a link and they don't say

anything and we're like okay are you just here to

like drop a link and go away? - Well! Talk to Maxim a little bit he like to talk!

Yes I like to talk so talk to in the comments! Don't just like next react to

this and then nothing show me that you have seen our video a

little bit before dropping a suggestion or or else it's just link dropping and I

don't like link dropping I like to interact with you guys if you want to

see more from Immortal Songs 2 we have a playlist I think the card is

gonna pop-up right now and in the end screen you're going to see right now.

OK! Thx you! Bebye!

3 Biggest Offseason Questions Facing the Baltimore Ravens - Duration: 8:27.

It was a tale of two halves for the Baltimore Ravens this season. After starting out 4-5, Baltimore made a quarterback change and took off, winning six of its last seven games to claim the AFC North

While rookie Lamar Jackson helped get the Ravens into the playoffs, he couldn't keep the success going as they lost 23-17 at home to the Chargers in the AFC Wild Card game

Still, it's pretty clear that this is Jackson's team going forward, meaning the Joe Flacco era has come to an end

And while at one point it seemed that John Harbaugh could be leaving as well, all indications are that he will be back for a 12th season

General manager Ozzie Newsome is retiring so between some personnel and front office (assistant GM Eric DeCosta will take over) changes, this is shaping up to be a pivotal offseason for the franchise

3 Biggest Offseason Questions Facing the Ravens    1. Quarterback transition  Even though Baltimore trailed Los Angeles 23-3 halfway through the fourth quarter of Saturday's AFC Wild Card game, there was never any thought by John Harbaugh to bench the struggling Lamar Jackson for Joe Flacco

Between that decision and Harbaugh's postgame comments it sure seems like the Ravens have already passed the torch from Flacco, the franchise's all-time leading passer and Super Bowl XLVII MVP, to Jackson, who has eight total starts under his belt

While you certainly can't argue that Jackson provided the team with a spark coming out of their Week 10 bye and was a big reason why Baltimore won the AFC North, it also needs to be pointed out that if not for a late fourth-quarter rally, the Ravens would have been blown out at home on Saturday as Jackson couldn't get much going on the ground or through the air

Los Angeles' defense certainly learned from its first encounter (Week 16) facing the dynamic, dual-threat quarterback, forcing him to try and beat them with his arm by employing seven defensive backs on every snap

The result was Jackson looked uncomfortable if not confused, as the Chargers finished with seven sacks and three takeaways (two fumbles, INT all by Jackson)

Jackson did orchestrate a late rally, tossing a pair of touchdown passes in the final nine minutes, but it was too much of a deficit to overcome

Perhaps fittingly, the Ravens' final play was a sack in which Jackson fumbled the ball away, which Los Angeles recovered

For the game, Jackson completed less than half of his pass attempts (14 of 29) for 194 yards, but the team's net total was just 139 passing yards due to the sacks

He was the game's leading rusher with 54 yards, but that came courtesy of a team-high nine carries, which isn't a great sign

Going into the wild-card game, there was much talk about Jackson's need to improve as a passer and those questions certainly weren't answered with Saturday's performance

But it appears that Baltimore has seen enough to entrench him as the starter moving forward

Now it's just a matter of Jackson becoming more familiar with the playbook while Harbaugh and offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg tailor an offense that caters to their quarterback's skill set and puts the unit in the best position to succeed

Even though Flacco handled the demotion with class and remained a model teammate to the very end, he also has made it clear he doesn't view himself as a backup

So it seems pretty obvious that the soon-to-be 34-year-old has suited up as a Raven for the last time

One of the highest-paid quarterbacks in the NFL, Flacco is currently under contract for three more seasons

It would be easier for Baltimore to cut ties after next season but a potential $16 million cap hit if he's released this offseason is better than the $26

5 million it would cost to keep him on the roster. A trade seems unlikely given his contract along with the fact that his production has declined over the past three seasons

   2. Decisions on defense  Baltimore's defense finished the regular season No. 1 in the NFL in yards allowed per game and second in points

But this unit could look quite different next season, especially in the middle, depending on what decisions are made as the team's leading tackler and top two sack specialists are among those defenders set to become free agents

C.J. Mosley figures to be the priority as the 2014 first-round pick earned his third straight (and fourth overall) Pro Bowl invite this season

The 26-year-old will have no lack of potential suitors should the Ravens let him get to free agency

The tougher decision comes with Terrell Suggs. The seven-time Pro Bowler is far and away the franchise's all-time sacks leader (132

5) and the unquestioned leader on defense, if not the entire team. However, he's 36 and just finished his 16th season

No one is sure if he wants to play another season and if does, what he has left in the tank

As much as Baltimore probably wants to keep him so he can finish out his career as a Raven, it's probably going to come down to cost

Baltimore is projected to have nearly $32 million in cap space (and will get a little more back if the team releases Flacco/other players), but pressing needs elsewhere (i

e., re-signing Mosley) could result in having to cut ties with another longtime veteran

Fellow linebacker Za'Darius Smith, who led the team with 8.5 sacks, is another pending free agent from the defense, as is starting end Brent Urban

The secondary could be reshuffled with Pro Bowl safety Eric Weddle as well as cornerbacks Jimmy Smith and Brandon Carr potential salary-cap casualties

Weddle has already stated that he will retire if the Ravens don't bring him back

   3. Who joins Jackson in the backfield?  When Jackson took over as the starting quarterback, the offense titled even more towards the run

Over the final seven games of the regular season, Baltimore led the NFL with nearly 230 rushing yards per game

Alex Collins suffered a foot injury that ended his season early, but undrafted rookie Gus Edwards stepped up and emerged when given the opportunity

Both of them, as well as Javorius "Buck" Allen and Ty Montgomery, are pending free agents

The Ravens still have Kenneth Dixon on the roster, but the 2016 fourth-round pick has had trouble staying on the field, whether due to injury or suspension

Jackson is going to the focal point of the offense, but as the wild-card loss to Los Angeles showed, he can't carry the load himself

Jackson led the way with 54 rushing yards while Edwards and Dixon managed 36 on 14 carries

The 90 total yards on the ground were by far the fewest in a game since Jackson became the starter (and the fifth-fewest in a game all season)

It doesn't seem likely that Baltimore will make a big splash in free agency at this position but chances are there will be a new face or two in the backfield picture by the time training camp opens
