Two months later though, United haven't lost since. Ole Gunnar Solskjær took the reins immediately following Mourinho's defeat at Anfield, and it appears the Norwegian has transformed the club in a very short space of time
So much so, that some Liverpool fans look towards their next league game with trepidation, with a trip to Old Trafford potentially season-defining for Klopp's title challengers
United have been in good form - but is that enough to overly concern Liverpool? How much have United improved since their last defeat at Anfield, and are they now as good as Liverpool? How good are United under Solskjær? So, in order to determine United's level since Solskjær took charge, let's focus on their underlying performance relative to Expected Goals (xG)
In terms of xG, United are second only to City, but it's worth noting that Pep Guardiola's team have played one game more
Then, in terms of Expected Goals Against (xGA), United are fifth. Interestingly though, Solskjær's team are overperforming in both categories which usually isn't sustainable
The side should have scored 20 but have actually scored 23, and they should have conceded 11 but have instead shipped just six
This suggests an element of luck has been present, especially defensively, as United have only conceded around half what they should have based on the chances that they have allowed
Also, the xG tells an interesting story when focusing on the teams that United have faced
Against the inferior sides, Solskjær's players have been largely imperious and have offered an impressive level of attacking output, especially at Old Trafford when the Norwegian initially took charge
However, when focusing on the teams that are perhaps widely considered as good and should thus be more competitive, United seem to struggle
Arguably the best three teams that United have faced since Solskjær's appointment - one of which was in the FA Cup - are Tottenham, Arsenal and Leicester

In an attacking sense, yes, as United have been expected to score 20 goals so far alongside Klopp's title challengers - who have interestingly been expected to score the same amount
Crucially though, the difference is evident when highlighting the defence. Liverpool have been expected to concede just seven goals since Solskjær's tenure began - the best in the league - versus United's 11
Ultimately, these figures indicate that Liverpool are more complete and have a defence that's equally as competent as their attack
United on the other hand have an attack that's far better than their defence, and the team appears to have enjoyed fortune to an extent to secure certain results recently
The basic prediction according to xG is that Liverpool have a defence that should be able to cope with United's attack, whereas United don't yet have a defence that's capable of stopping Liverpool's attack
Whether that comes to pass on February 24 remains to be seen - but for what could be Liverpool's toughest challenge remaining in their pursuit of a first league championship since 1990, there are positive signs of the desired outcome

One of the first songs, well the first song that was made
Pain was the first text written for Vane
It was written by me and Mateusz
we met at my place
And by the way, we figured whole album concept at that time
We decided about whom it will be and what will happen in the story
that we wanted to tell on that album
so we started to write that song, because it was almost ready at that time
I don't know if Mateusz mentioned it, but this is one of the first songs that were made for Vane
In most parts it contains some previous work of Mateusz
that was hidden in his drawer, waiting for the right moment
Song was made entirely from two year old riffs
I was sitting with a laptop night after night and composing them in MIDI
Among other things, I basically made a whole guitar solo for his song in MIDI
Before I even started to play it
And in MIDI it sounded very easy, arpeggio at the end
but when I started to actually play it, it turned out to be pretty difficult
Mateusz said to us before first gigs
to not come near him on the stage during this guitar solo
and disturb him. So I always do that
this song was recorded, if I recall correctly, on the second day in the studio
When Przemek and I were exhausted a lot

as much as this song is not that of an as kicker
generally, most of the song bass compositions are not that twisted
Comparing to what guys are doing on the guitars
but...in that case I remember that...
well i don't recall everything perfectly from the studio,
but I remember, that we were tired as hell

The whole second day of recordings was pretty tense
this number was kind of twisted, well the beginning of it.
As i recall, we tried to even start it at the right moment
how to do it? Why we cant do that? Even producer said...

so finally it turned out, that I need to start to play after second measure, and that's it.
we have some issues with this song when it comes to starting it
I don't know why exacly
When i rehearse I don't have a problem to start at the right moment
but when we played some gigs...
there's some curse on that song and every time something is not right
There's something about this
Most of the vocals for that song were recorded in one take
I's just simple and fun tu sing, so we've recorded it very quickly
This song, when it comes to rhythm guitar
was recorded practically in one take
It was very, very easy to record it
It wasn't exactly my first choice in the beginning, but after a while it grew on me
And so it became one of my favorites
I have quite some fun singing it, especially live

8 pick in the draft if it deems someone worthy -- even with veteran Matthew Stafford on the roster
And it comes weeks after Quinn said Stafford was the team's quarterback and would continue to be the team's quarterback
"We'll consider any position in the draft at any point in time, whether it's the eighth overall pick or we have multiple picks later in the draft," Quinn said
"We're in a position now with the eighth overall pick that the whole draft board is really wide open to us
We're not going to really eliminate any prospects. "In previous years, at least my last couple years here, we've drafted anywhere from 16 to 22 I believe
It's a little bit different for us this year. There's a few more players that are going to be available and if there's a quarterback out there that we deem could help us this year or in the future, we'll never close the door on that
" The top quarterback prospects in this year's draft are Ohio State's Dwayne Haskins and Oklahoma's Kyler Murray
The topic came up as a question from a fan during the team's annual season-ticket member summit, where fans lined up to ask questions of Quinn, team president Rod Wood and head coach Matt Patricia in the context of how teams in the league have been successful building with quarterbacks on rookie contracts offering more cap flexibility
In recent years, Seattle (Russell Wilson) and the Los Angeles Rams (Jared Goff) have made the Super Bowl with quarterbacks on rookie contracts and the Eagles (Carson Wentz) and Chiefs (Patrick Mahomes) have also built consistent contenders around signal-callers on rookie deals
Patricia said sometimes those teams are built to be stacked on one side of the ball and when the quarterback has to be paid, they'll have to take hits at other positions
Patricia said "it's tricky water to kind of tread there when you kind of have those situations and we're trying to balance the overall foundation of the team so that you're competitive all the way across the board
" Stafford is slated to make $29.5 million against the cap next season -- $19 million of it guaranteed
If, as expected, Stafford is on the roster of the fifth day of the 2019 league year, he'll have $6 million guaranteed to him in 2020
The 31-year-old is coming off one of the worst seasons of his career, completing 66
1 percent of his passes for 3,777 yards, 21 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. His yardage total was his lowest since the 2010 season; his touchdowns the fewest since 2012 and interceptions highest since 2015
His QBR of 53.8 was his lowest since 2014. After last season, Quinn said he believed the Lions could win a Super Bowl with Stafford and backed what Patricia had said earlier, that they believe in Stafford as their quarterback
"Matthew Stafford is our quarterback," Quinn said on Jan. 4. "He will be our quarterback here
Listen, this guy is a really talented player and myself, the coaches, need to put him in better situations to allow him to use his skill set
" That's something Quinn and Patricia reiterated at the summit, saying they needed to upgrade the tight end position -- calling it a priority -- as well as find more offensive and defensive playmakers
