A Swift Journey with Tugce: From America to Ankara - Duration: 14:49.

welcome to A Swift Journey with Tugce

Hollywood, Times Square and the Statue of Liberty

what do these words remind you of

if you said the united states

then you guessed where our guest is from

Amy Hume is our guest for this week

and if you're ready let's go and let's discover Amy's journey

from America to Ankara

I'm so happy to have you here

you've been here for eight years

so how did this journey start

thank you for having me, Tugce

so I started a music project in Uganda, called "end of the week"

about ten years ago

and so I decided to move to Turkey

to be closer to Africa

but that's your second city in Turkey right

you first lived in Istanbul

yes I was in Istanbul for three years

you're from United States but

you were born in Africa, right?

so are you used to change cities and countries

yes I was born in South Africa

but I didn't live there very long

but in the United States

I moved every year

for probably first 25 years of my life

so I'm quite adaptable

to any country

anywhere yes

and what was the biggest difficulty during this process

coming to Turkey?

yeah

definitely the language

I think

Istanbul was similar to New York

it's chaotic and crazy

and you know surrounded by waterways

so environmentally

it was quite easy

but just culturally

it took me some time to

to find my feet and

understand how Turks work

what were you expecting before coming here

and what did you find

I've been to Antalya and Istanbul

long time ago

before I moved here

so I knew the country

I loved the food

the people were very friendly

you know Turkish hospitality

so my expectations were quite low

I just came for an adventure

and in Turkish culture you know

there are lots of rituals

for example fortune telling from Turkish coffee ritual

how was your experience as

I mean I am asking the cultural experience

actually the fortune telling

from the coffee is one of my favorite

parts of Turkey

but rituals

I think

again it comes to hospitality

I amazed how nice people are

when you go to their home

they serve you a full eight course meal

there's coffee and tea if you go

to the bank they

they offer you coffee

is Turkish hospitality is legend or is it real

according to your experience

it's a little bit of both

but no I think it's very real

absolutely

so what caused a cultural shock on you

I mean when you first came here

I think driving

I had to learn how to drive in Turkey

but America is crowded I mean

it's very crowded but people

stay in their lanes

if there's three lanes on a highway

the people stay in those lanes

in Turkey

if it's a three lane highway

there's five lanes of traffic

of course

and I want to talk about wedding ceremonies

if you want to look a culture

I think the wedding ceremonies are very important

have you ever been in a Turkish wedding ceremony

many many weddings

what are some major differences

when you compare with American weddings

the official wedding or

they go I think to do court house

something like that

that's a little bit different than ours

most weddings in the States

in churches

you know someone is religious

but it's the dancing is quite different

you know more men and women dance seperately

here they do the halay

you know whatever it is

but in terms of you know

what people wear and how people act

it's quite similar to the States

you worked as a photographer in New York right?

yes

so

you came here and I know

you travel a lot here in Turkey

so what are your favorite destinations

definitely Cappadocia

is one of my favorite because

it's very different

and I love earthy things and

the environment

I really love Istanbul as crazy it is

It's an amazing city

the Black Sea is very unique

as well I love weather

and about the Turkish cuisine

that's a deep subject I know

but what do you think about Turkish cuisine

that's quite different from American's right

it is

and when we eat Turkish cuisine in America

it's usually labeled as Middle Eastern

so you know we kind of

I'm used to that kind of food

but the amount of olives

and different kinds of olives

I never knew existed

but I've actually learn

make some food like

really what do you cook most

at home

yesterday

I made "yayla çorbası"

really omg

the yoghourt soup

I make yaprak sarması

stuffed grape leaves

so I've learnt sort of to make the food

so what's your favorite dish

I mean from Turkish cuisine

my favorite dish

that's a hard question I know that

I'm gonna say "çiğköfte"

"çiğköfte" really

your parents are living in Saudi Arabia

and your sister is living in America so

do you feel homesick

I feel very much home here

because I'm used to moving

home was sort of where I am

at the moment

I go back to the States every two or three years

and it's nice to be there

that I can wear what I wanna wear

I can speak how I wanna speak

but you know I make myself comfortable where I am

do you feel like at home here in Turkey

yes yes

that's great

so how do Turkish people approach you

I mean you seem like a foreigner

so what they ask you most

I mean you have

blond nice looking hair

you have blue eyes so

what do they ask most

firstly where am I from

and secondly am I married

really? always, everyone yes

and what kind of an approach they have towards you

some people just kind of stare

you know on the metro or

the "dolmus" they look

at me like I have three heads

you know like I really am a foreigner

they wonder

sort of about the outside world

you know many Turkish people have been outside

they watch tv

Hollywood is a big influence here

which I was very surprised about

do they ask you about

Hollywood or

they do because if people

have never been out of Turkey

they especially interested in America

they think it's like Hollywood

or like tv series

there's an American dream right?

right still there is

but all and all everybody has been very friendly

they're curious about me

and you know they my Turkish is terrible

so people try to speak English

your Turkish is really good really

thank you

but people try and speak a little English

they have even it's broken

and let's do some gossip then

okay

what do you think about Turkish people's English

maybe if

I would want you to make a general consideration about the way they talk

it's a very special kind of English

and it's called Turkish English

and my English actually changed a bit

really how did it change

because I have to I simplify a bit

but I've also picked up

you know like "tamam"

I say "tamam" all the time

so when I go back to the States

I say "tamam"

now we have a little quiz part, if you want to go there

absolutely

okay let's go to the that quiz part

there are some words

which are some cities from America

and also Turkey

and there are some celebrities

from America and Turkey

if you want I can start

okay go ahead

she's gorgeous

she's American actress

and she's known by

"Bus Stop", "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes"

that kind of movies

Marilyn Monroe

yaay you did well

okay your turn

this is a city

in Southern California

and there's a very famous popular series

that takes place there

what is it about

it's about housewifes there's a murder

Big Little Lies so Monterey

yes very good

okay let me mix it

she has a talkshow

like for million years

in America

she has short hair

and she's super funny

Ellen

yeah

love Ellen

everybody loves Ellen

yeah

she's a famous Turkish

singer

any clues

blond hair she's old

no that's rude

she's older she's around for a long time

Ajda Pekkan?

yes

yaay very good

he's a director

he's a famous director from America

his movies are "Kill Bill", "Pulp Fiction"

Quentin Tarantino

okay this is a very famous movie

maybe you've seen it in your film class

it's older

it's about a woman

if I tell you who's in it you're gonna guess it

she dresses up and

there's a famous jewelery store

in New York

in New York

in particular

can it be Audrey Hepburn

yes

Breakfast at Tiffany's

yes very good

that's a city in Turkey

the city is known by "kebap"

Adana?

you know that oh my god

that's impressive

Urfa was the next guess

she's Turkey's sweetheart

everyone loves her very much

she's musician

she's been around for some time

she's a bit of an activist

as well political activist

animal activist humanitarian

any songs of her do you know

eh no

she has long red hair

long red hair

Candan Ercetin?

very beautiful nope

red hair, red hair any clues?

should I think of the last song she did

her name starts with an "s"

what kind of music is she doing

pop like Turkish pop

for decades two decades maybe

did she represent us at Eurovision

I think she did yes

Sertab Erener?

yes yes very good

that was tough

that was really tough

cause I couldn't explain

no

that's very difficult okay

okay he's a Turkish arabesque singer

Ibrahim Tatlıses?

he passed away before three or four years I'm not sure about the date but

lastly they made a biography movie of his life

so

he has black hair and

is it Ibrahim Tatlıses

nope that's the only one I know

he's still living he's still alive

that's right

I'm not sure do you know him

starts with m

I have the pic I know his face but

his name

okay Müslüm Gürses

yes yes

they made a movie of his life

yes

moustache, they all have moustaches

yeah

in this part there are some

Ottoman and Turkish objects

and Amy will try to guess what are they

okay are you ready

I am

okay I'm giving that one

the first one

just try to guess that

oh it's a coffee

coffee pot yeah

the coffee thing

for Turkish coffee

okay that was the easiest one

you got one okay

are you ready for the second one

okay I'm giving that

ah nazar boncugu

yeah you know it

congratulations and

the evil eye sorry English

yes okay nazar boncugu is okay

and what is it

a basket

nope

a fes

oh my god

right

yeah

just wow

can I wear this for this edition

yeah you can

here

are you sure about that

how does it look

okay

and are you ready for yeah

tesbih

prayer beads

okay

you're really a part of the Turkish culture now

and the second one is staying there

just touch it

here yeah

what is it

for belly dancers tambourine

just wow

just wow you can open your eyes

and that's over

hope you enjoyed it but

I thought you can not know all

but you did well

it's I do huh

and I'm back

Imm I wouldn't

I didn't know this was Turkish but

yeah of course it is for the belly dancers

yeah you did well hope you enjoyed it

I did thank you very much

hope you enjoyed it

that was really funny

it was it was great fun thank you

you did well

thank you

turkish culture is a part of your life I think

it is

and I

I have a cliche question that I ask to all of my guests

so if Turkey were a movie genre what would it be

drama

why why do you think so

Turkish people are sort of very dramatic

about small issues

which is entertaining

but

I think yes

they're just with traffic

with driving with boyfriends and girlfriends relationships

with food with sort of any situation

drama is a part of it

and it's not like heavy drama but

but yeah definitely drama

that was really sweet

thank you for taking your time

that was a pleasure talking with you

thank you for having me very much

thank you for joining us

please leave your comments below and

and see you for the next episode bye

Cycling B&B Guesthouse in Izu Japan with Giant Taiyaki【B&Bゲストハウス輪の宿】 - Duration: 10:13.

Hello, my name is Cruise

today, we're in Izu, Japan

this is our first time ever coming here.

we've been in the car all day

and finally arrived at our hotel.

tomorrow we will go to the Izu cycling center

which is famous in Yowamushi Pedal

that's where they did their cycling training camp.

today, we're staying at the Rin-no-yado (輪の宿)

it's a B&B for cyclists

and looks very new

it looks really nice

and there's a bike rack

this is a hotel / B&B for cyclists

we're staying here tonight with some other Japanese YouTubers

Kocho-san kindly invited us to come to his camp.

there's a beautiful view of the ocean nearby

we've got ocean views beautiful place this is our car for today so full of

bikes we've got five bikes in here so we're gonna get our luggage to go check

in real quick let's go check out the inside so walking in the entrance here

we're greeted we've got our slippers and we've got our shoe rack here so you put

your shoes inside grab your slipper and then right to the right we've got our

main desk so they come with some food here so all of the prices later for how

much this place calls and here we go we enter the main sort of Lobby dining

relaxing area we've got some bike stands here so double racks and let's see what

bikes we've got in here old-school purple Bridgestone and what

is this a muddy fox new brand for me and we've got some empty spaces over here so

we can bring our bikes in here I'll probably bring my bike in here because I

want to go for a ride early tomorrow morning before we head

out to the cycling course got a nice little room but kind of thing here

moving on we've got our table so we probably hanging out relaxing here a

little bit later tonight we'll be doing a little boning high end of year

celebration party some nice good marketing designer

everything's are super fresh really nice and new we got kind of like a bar dining

area here as well and a little refrigerator you can buy some drinks if

you need something reasonable prices just about $1 for pretty much any drink

and toasters some nice little bike decorations here and they've got a nice

little congratulation sign so I think this place opened up pretty or renovated

itself pretty recently you might have had an older design before in the past

and yeah pretty cool let's go check out our rooms we've got our luggage here so

we had to ride our bikes to the meeting point and ride with this giant hiking

back let's go so most of the rooms I believe are on the second floor we've

got a twin room check it out so we've got the twin room they've got single

rooms twin rooms so we've got to it nice twin beds here and oh wow

check out this view there you go we got sort of an island off in the distance

beautiful view check that out doesn't get much better than this

lots of vacation homes it seems so lots of rich people but also lots of people

like us just coming out renting a place for the weekend and we've got some

goodies here some towels hair dryer a nice little table for us to relax drink

some tea a big tiny TV but that's okay we're probably not gonna watch any TV

hanging rack we've got a pretty interesting roof here

some nice lights AC unit Mir and last and also pretty important we've got the

bathroom so Japanese bathrooms we mix the bathtub over here the toilet over

here so no wasted space and the sink pretty standard and yeah so that's

pretty much it we're gonna be getting dinner in a

couple of hours but we still got some time until then so I think we're gonna

relax a little bit we've had a kind of long day just being in the car all day

but I kind of want to work out before we eat so I might go for a run or sneak out

for a little ride while it's still sunny out let's check back in a little bit

going along on my run I come across this place a little Mexican restaurant right

in this little like kind of resorts town and easy to pen pretty interesting

anyway let's keep going there are some really nice houses here in this area

it's ridiculous lots of vacation homes don't normally come to these kinds of

areas in Japan really beautiful though brutal Hill I've just been running

straight uphill this entire time and just looking at all these awesome houses

the struggle continues let's go check out this massive little mountain here no

trees or anything just kind of like grass a nice smooth like big mound

massive look at that pretty cool just finished with the run and we've got all

of our bikes and a bunch of people gathered in the dining-room area enough

nice collection I got the BMC town over there orbea

John giant so this is all science cochon see

it all side here and the giants popular today so they don't be starting our new

year's end of your party hey Uncle Joe Guster good you know what I get why she

oh boy she so we met another famous Japanese

youtuber here and Evo up his blogging setup is ridiculous what should I know

we finally arrived to our main dinnertime it's 8:30

know all of our bikes all of the youtubers everyone's pretty

pumped up from yeah and here we go oh my god

Klopp has a message for Liverpool fans worried about stumbling in the title race - Duration: 3:32.

Liverpool are 14 matches away from clinching their first Premier League title since 1990

Jurgen Klopp's men boast a four-point gap and a game in hand over their nearest rivals Tottenham, although Manchester City - who are currently five points adrift of top spot - are still considered their biggest threat

The Reds missed out on going seven points clear of the reigning champions by drawing with Leicester on Wednesday, triggering nerves among some of the Anfield faithful

That said, Liverpool have failed to win on just five occasions so far this season, losing just once to Pep Guardiola's side in their first outing of 2019

Even so, it's fair to say the current leaders are in control of the title race for the time being

The Merseysiders can end their 29-year wait for a league crown through their own actions, which is exactly the mentality Klopp wants to instil among their supporters

While any minor slip up between now and May will be excruciatingly magnified, the German claims the increasing pressure doesn't faze him

"I am not a nervous person, so I was never nervous before the first title," he said, per the Mirror, in reference to his Bundesliga success at Borussia Dortmund

"That's how it is. Yes, experience showed me that the way I did it in the past worked

So, I didn't change.  "Our tools to sort the situation is football.  "Yes, there is pressure

There was pressure last year, a lot of pressure when we played Manchester City away in the quarter-finals of the Champions League — and we dealt with it

"Will there be nervous moments? Yes, for sure. But don't make them bigger than they are, because there were nervous situations last year, two years ago, three years ago

That is part of the game.  "People are in a little bit of doubt about this and that, and I understand — we were not champions for 29 years

No one thinks like that at City, but it's a different situation.  "The people are really desperate

Is that positive? They really want it, with all they have. But there are no guarantees and, again, I am not a nervous person

"  Liverpool still have Manchester United, Spurs and Chelsea to play before the season is over, so they'll certainly have their work cut out before the Premier League crown can be theirs

Jermaine Jenas' analysis of Higuain v Huddersfield shows the difference maker he could be - Duration: 3:15.

Gonzalo Higuain is off the mark after scoring a brace in Chelsea's 5-0 win against Huddersfield

The Argentine needed just 15 minutes to give the Blues the lead, firing home following N'Golo Kante's exquisite pass

It was the French midfielder who assisted Higuain's second goal, which came through a curling shot from the edge of the area

Yet it seems that the real partnership will be between Higuain and Eden Hazard, who also scored twice

The duo completed 21 passes to each other, which is very promising for Chelsea going forward

Hazard has had to carry Chelsea at times this season but now there isn't as much pressure on him to score

He can create chances for his new teammate and expect a similar service in return, with Higuain showing his hold-up skills against Huddersfield

Higuain analysis on MOTD  The 31-year-old's performance was dissected by Jermaine Jenas on Match of the Day and it's clear that he brings everything Chelsea have been missing this season

It wasn't just his finishing that was impressive, but his slick movement and his link-up play as well

"Higuain came alive inside the area for the first goal but he linked up everything really well," Jenas said

"If Maurizio Sarri can get a tune out of him that will be great."  Click HERE to watch if the above video doesn't load

And you have to think that his relationship with his teammates is only going to get better

Higuain now has 38 goals in 37 league appearances under Maurizio Sarri, dating back to their time together at Napoli

If he can keep it up then Chelsea have a very good shot of finishing in the top four

They currently occupy fourth place in the Premier League table but are facing pressure from Arsenal and Manchester United

Still, Sarri is excited at the prospect of Higuain and Hazard together.  "He is a great player," the Chelsea boss said about his new forward, per BBC Sport

"Apart from the goals, he is really very suitable to play very close to Eden."

The G Spot Of Australia? - Duration: 4:37.

Hi everyone this is Loc Tran and I just wanted to quickly share with you

one my favourite news articles from last year. It's from a website called Traveller.Com.Au

and the headline goes "Lithuanian capital Vilnius to launch

'G-spot' tourism ad before Pope's visit. Basically the idea of this is that the

Pope was visiting Lithuania and the capital city of Vilnius decided to

launch a tourism ad campaign and they got into a bit of trouble for it because

it's very sexual. The jist of it basically is "Nobody knows where it is

but when you find it - it's amazing Vilnius the G-spot of Europe." As you can

see in the poster it's basically a picture of a woman laying on top of a map

of Europe and her left hand is grabbing the map of Europe towards the centre

of Europe which is where Lithuania is but... that's not where the G-spot is.

I can think of a city where this analogy more closely relates. So here's my

version of that ad campaign...

I come from a land Down Under, It's kind of like the G-spot of Australia, come and see, come and see

the Festival Centre, because we got wine and we got nature.

I met a man in Lithuania, he was

travelling through South East Asia, he asked me what I think of Australia and I said hey

I come from a land Down Under, it's kind of like the G-spot of Australia

Come and see, come and see the Festival Centre, because we got wine and we got nature

I met a Norwegian Viking, she asked me if I've been to La Sing, because

that's where she got her wedding ring and I said hey, I come from the land Down Under

It's kind of like the G-spot of Australia, come and see, come and see the Festival Centre, because we got wine

and we got nature

Adelaide - the G-spot of Australia, it's kind of hard to find but everybody knows that it's

somewhere Down Under.

Daughter of Hitler's chief architect sells artwork to support Jewish women - Duration: 11:39.

Daughter of Hitler's chief architect sells artwork to support Jewish women

When Hilde Schramm inherited several paintings collected by her father, Hitler's chief architect and Armaments Minister Albert Speer, she was only sure of one thing: she didn't want them.

Despite determining they probably hadn't been looted from Jews during World War II, she wanted their legacy to somehow benefit others. 'I didn't want to have the paintings. It was a powerful feeling,' she told the Sunday Telegraph.

So she huddled with friends around a rickety green table at her home-office in Berlin and came up with a plan to sell them and use the proceeds to support Jewish women's creative projects in Germany.

In 1994, that became the Zurueckgeben foundation, a project for which Schramm, now 82, received an Obermayer German Jewish History Award two weeks ago.

The honour was established by an American Jewish philanthropist to recognise the efforts of non-Jewish Germans to keep alive their nation's Jewish cultural past.

The foundation's name translates as 'return' or 'give back' but also can mean 'restitution,' and Schramm said it was intentionally chosen to emphasise its goal of raising awareness at a time when looted Jewish property and art was a little talked-about issue.

'It was very much our point with this word 'Zurueckgeben', which in a way is a provocation, because in a way nobody really can give back, to raise consciousness about the injury that had been done very broadly in Germany,' she said.

Today, there's a wider understanding that the Nazis plundered precious artworks and other property from Europe's Jews, partially because of recent stepped-up German government efforts to identify heirs and organise restitution, and the popular 2014 Hollywood film 'The Monuments Men.

But most of the focus has been on the big-ticket items like precious paintings and sculptures. Schramm's foundation encourages Germans to take stock of the more mundane items in their households and question where they came from.

In part it's to fight the cliche perpetrated by the Nazis that all Jews were rich and powerful, and also to dispel the notion that only the Nazi elite profited at the expense of the Jews.

'Let it come close to your families and look at what other ways the German population did profit. When Jews were expelled from their jobs, of course non-Jewish Germans could take their job,' Schramm said.

'It's not only the question of real objects being robbed but their whole existence. this is to raise awareness that it did reach almost every family, a kind of involvement or profiting.'.

Because it's almost impossible to determine the original owners of smaller items like cutlery and furniture, donors to the foundation often give a symbolic amount to Zurueckgeben, or sell the items and give the proceeds.

Since it began, hundreds of Germans have donated and the foundation has been able to pay out some 500,000 euros ($570,000) in grants to support more than 130 Jewish women's projects. Those include a children's theatre, exhibitions, dance shows, books and films.

The 82-year-old Schramm, a former Greens party state lawmaker as well as an educator and author, has been involved in several other projects related to Nazi-era commemoration and atonement.

She was previously honoured by Berlin with the Moses Mendelssohn Prize, named after the Jewish philosopher and given to honour people for fostering tolerance.

She has also helped organise a nonprofit association to support projects in Greece after the Greek financial crisis, and has hosted seven refugees from Afghanistan and Syria in her own home.

That followed German Chancellor Angela Merkel's decision to open the country's borders to more than 1 million migrants in 2015-16. 'Wherever I went, whatever I did, I saw something which was a blind spot and I took it up,' she said.

Schramm was only nine years old when the war ended.

Even though she was there at times with her father as he rubbed elbows with Hitler and other top Nazis, she said the persecution of the Jews was not something she was aware of.

'I had no idea,' she said, pausing contemplatively before adding: 'But perhaps I didn't want to have an idea.

Unlike many other top Nazis, who committed suicide or were executed after the war, Albert Speer served 20 years in a Berlin prison for war crimes after being convicted in the Nuremberg trials.

At his trial, Speer, who died in 1981 in London, accepted moral responsibility but insisted he had not known of the Holocaust - a contention that many have questioned.

Schramm was able to talk with him and confront him with her questions, which was an opportunity she said a lot of the donors to her foundation never had with their families.

'In a way, I always felt in a good situation, as I knew what my father had been and what he had done very soon,' she said.

'Many men and women of my generation, they had no answer what their family had done.'.

Schramm's award was one of six presented by the organisation philanthropist Arthur Obermayer established in 2000. Obermayer was inspired by the help Germans gave him in researching his German roots. He died in 2016.

The Washington Principles and the return of art looted by Nazis.

On November 26 last year, German officials, Jewish leaders researchers and others marked the 20th anniversary of the international agreement on returning art looted by the Nazis with new pledges and proposals aimed at breathing new life into the process.

Culture Minister Monika Gruetters said it is Germany's responsibility to improve upon the so-called Washington Principles to restore cultural objects to their original Jewish owners or heirs, noting that their meaning goes beyond the purely financial.

'Behind every stolen object is the fate of an individual,' she said.

The Washington Principles were drafted in 1998 to assist in resolving issues related to returning Nazi-confiscated art and were signed by more than three dozen countries - acknowledging that many items did not remain in Germany after the war.

There are also the issues of art sold by Jews fleeing Nazi Germany at rock-bottom prices to finance their escape or to support themselves in their new homelands, and also trying to determine who the rightful heirs are today now that most original owners are deceased.

Ronald Lauder, head of the World Jewish Congress, said many countries are effectively ignoring the Washington Principles, noting specific problems in Hungary, Poland, Spain, Switzerland the Netherlands and France.

For example, France had 60,000 artworks returned to it after the war, of which 15,000 were unclaimed. Some 2,000 of the best were given to French museums, and the rest were sold.

'For 20 years France has not been able to figure out who owns those 2,000 works in their museums,' Lauder said. 'Somehow the auction house Christie's can review 100,000 pieces every year, but France cannot figure out 2,000 pieces in 20 years.'.

In Germany, Lauder said the country's 'commitment to Holocaust awareness is exemplary' but that there have been problems in the return of Nazi-looted art, which he said are 'more institutional than personal.

Among other things, he said that the commission set up to mediate claims has only looked at 15 cases in 15 years, and that navigating the country's 'byzantine bureaucracy' is a challenge for anyone looking to research or file a claim.

In response to such criticism, Gruetters said Germany is establishing a 'help desk' that will aid anyone interested in filing a claim.

In addition, in the past where both a museum and the heir to an artwork had to decide to take a case to arbitration, that is now being changed so that a resolution can be sought by an heir without the museum's agreement.

The single-party consent applies only to museums under federal jurisdiction but officials hope the thousands of state-run museums will follow suit.

Ausgerechnet Luxushotels | WDR Reisen - Duration: 43:52.

Pure luxury in the middle of Amsterdam.

Up to 8.000 Euro for one night.

And 50 Euro for a standard breakfast.

Why does a night here cost so much how else a whole vacation?

What's wrong with me right now, is pepper and salt.

This is screaming after a call to the butler, right?

An English castle at the foot of the Zugspitze.

Luxurious ambience and opulent marketing

as a lure for the super rich.

This is the first meditation house worldwide.

Do you get that at all? back in? - No, I'm not.

Exquisite design and seductive star cuisine

for an equally select clientele.

I was thinking about the champagne, that would be the dates, 1995,

but that's the price. for the bottle: 1.995 Euro.

Top priority: Service that is All-round carefree package for the guest.

What does that mean for the staff?

What's a good tip?

Everything that appears, you're happy.

Daniel Amann shows what luxury is all about. and what it can cost.

Do you hear anything? You can't hear a thing. Absolute silence.

That's luxury.

Subtitles: WDR mediagroup Ltd. on behalf of the WDR

Dream about it, too,

once in a lifetime in a luxury hotel to spend the night like this?

Most of the time it remains I'm afraid it's just a dream,

because the hotels are really expensive.

But why? Where are the costs incurred?

Aren't there ways and means

cheaper to stay overnight to get close?

Now in "Luxury hotel of all places".

Daniel Amann's research begins in Amsterdam.

One of the most popular destinations for city breaks.

The TwentySeven counts to the most luxurious hotels in Europe.

The most expensive suite costs here up to 8.000 Euro. Per night.

Hello. - Hello, sir.

Welcome to Hotel TwentySeven. - Thank you very much, sir.

I take your luggage. - Direct? Yeah, okay.

Service, whether you like it or not.

His luggage Daniel Amann has already left.

And is immediately notified by employee no. One to employee number two.

A classic, opulent lobby is not here.

Because the hotel lies in an angled,

listed buildings in Amsterdam's most expensive location.

No rooms, 16 suites, a star restaurant, a bar.

The credo: absolute privacy with 24-hour service.

I see, you've got a microphone like this right here.

Is there a code there that says, "TV's here"?

You're not supposed to see that, that's actually classified.

But sure, it's easier for us to communicate.

Is there a code? "Difficult guest, careful"?

No? - There are no difficult guests here.

No, of course not.

The international noble public

is safe totally easy to clean and relaxed.

Before check-in: Appearance Butler Johannes.

Yes, a real butler.

Hello. How are you today, Sir?

Welcome to the TwentySeven. - Thank you. Thank you.

I'll be one of your butlers, Sir. Please follow me to the check-in.

Go straight on, I'd like a drink first.

This is guest service agent Victor. - Hello, there.

My name is Victor. Welcome to our Hotel TwentySeven. - Thank you very much, sir.

Please take a seat.

Every guest gets a glass of champagne,

or is that, because the TV's there?

That's what every guest gets.

When I see the glass in front of the bar. what would it cost?

Victor might know that.

How much is that? - 15 euros.

Then we already have 15 euros here. Let's try it.

Seen in this light, 15 euros have been saved for the time being.

Well, at prices between 400 and 8,000 euros a night?

That's what you do with paper. That's 80, 100 grams.

It's really thick paper. - Yeah, that's it.

Okay. (laughs)

Now to the room. Uh, the suite.

Just once pull away briefly, I paid for it.

You can take it with you to your suite or your butler will take it.

No, it's okay. It's done.

Hope you enjoy it. - Great.

Daniel has one of the cheap suites booked: 650 Euro.

Per night.

During the week and in the absolute low season in winter.

Thank you very much, sir. - Welcome home.

55 sqm luxury, spread over 2 rooms.

Noble design from all over the world.

Per tablet you can create a light mood and room temperature

according to your wishes.

The bathroom is also exclusive, with whirlpool, steam shower.

And high-tech toilet.

Also included: the 24-hour Butler service.

Could he perhaps get the clothes or the clothes for you?

Yeah, why not, huh?

Right, yeah, you're like that here now. - All right, all right.

He'll be happy to do it for you.

So he hangs the things in the closet for me? - That's it.

Whatever you want.

Would you like me to do that while you're having dinner downstairs?

Yeah, it's best. That's how we do it.

Perfect. Perfect.

Coins get a butler by the way, rarely infected.

The tip is at least one note the rule.

The tea, the coffee and the water is all included within the room rate.

The rest is of course on the menu.

Most expensive bottle I've ever seen. I can buy: Dom Prignon, 290 euros.

Is she in here? - Yes, sir.

There, 290 euros.

Will the then frequent out of the minibar?

Or how do the guests do it? - I'm sure it will.

And sometimes there are guests, who drink that every day.

Okay. (laughs)

Stay with us for a week. and drink it every day.

Johannes has 2 years on a Butler school in London.

Starting salary in a luxury hotel: about 2.500 Euro.

For one night in the most expensive suite

John would have to for more than 2 months.

Price luxury knows no bounds.

A few examples of the most expensive hotel rooms in Europe:

The Furka Suite at The Chedi in Andermatt

costs 15.780 Euro per night, at least.

The Royal Suite at the Hotel Adlon in Berlin just under 16,000 euros per night.

Et La Suite Shangri-La at the Shangri-La Hotel in Paris

is around 17,000 euros.

Almost cheap against the penthouse Suite at the Hotel Martinez in Cannes:

for 28,450 euros per night.

The most expensive is in Geneva:

The Royal Penthouse at the President Wilson Hotel.

costs 52.630 Euro per night.

Most luxury hotels in Germany are located in Bavaria.

This is the place especially wellness holidaymakers.

With approximately 1.2 billion euros Turnover per year

one of the most important target groups of the luxury hotel business.

The vacation starts right here, Klais 3, if you will.

Because the hotel says that it's the and picks up our guests right here at the track.

Well, I'll be curious.

Daniel Amann's goal: the best Wellness hotel in Germany,

frontrunners in the most important industry ranking.

Are you the driver now? or what's your position?

I am the Deputy hosts.

Oh, well, at the highest level. drove here? - At the highest level.

Deputy host is by the way, the charming paraphrase

for deputy hotel manager.

And this is Christian Uhrlau for almost 3 years.

The Hotel he's known for 12 years.

But is everyone actually going to be I was picked up by your guest personally?

An old man once told me said: Managing by walking around.

That's why we're always on the move.

Is there still Do you ever tip anybody?

Every now and then, yes.

And that goes to the own bag, or who gets it?

We've got a little coffee shop.

Do guests come too? from Hattingen?

Hattingen lies, if I may ask, where?

What do you mean, you don't know? - No. Rhineland-Palatinate?

No, in the Ruhr area. At Bochum, Essen, Dortmund the corner.

Dortmund we have many guests, Bochum we have one.

And now a Hattinger. - The one I know personally.

Yes, now you know Hattinger, too.

Now the list is checked.

Wellness hotels like the Kranzbach make it clear

Guests of the Nobelhotels define luxury

no longer exclusively about extravagant, expensive design.

The trend: Luxury, which is down-to-earth and authentic.

2.7 million people

have 2017 Wellness holidays made in Germany

and for an increase in sales of about 13%.

No segment of the industry grows faster.

What do you get here for your money? but you're out of your mind?

That's what Daniel Amann wants to find out.

Check-in with reception manager Claudia Stampfer.

I booked half board. - That's right.

How much is it now?

Your room costs for the Single use per night 283 Euro.

This includes Pamper half board,

which we have included in all prices have already included.

It's breakfast, a light lunch,

in the afternoon our Cake and strudel buffet

and in the evening our menu to choose from.

There are 12 room categories here.

The most expensive costs up to 700 Euro per night.

The hotel is now well above the average price

German 5-star hotels of scarcely 160 Euro, without breakfast and extras.

For 283 Euro per night

Daniel Amann gets here Half board and this room.

Let's start right here.

Here's actually my closet.

Stop right there, I'm gonna go around for a minute.

Hold it right there.

Well, here I am again. Now I'm in the bathroom.

That's a smart idea, isn't it?

Can the wardrobe of both Fill and remove pages.

Not bad, I'll come around again.

Yes, this is the room here: pleasantly large.

Let's take a look in the bathroom: I did a nice job too.

First and foremost, the most beautiful thing, come around,

when you're lying here in the tub, Let me show you this for a second.

You lie here in the bathtub. then you have the view here.

That's great, isn't it?

You're looking right at the mountains, into the fir trees, into the forest.

But the view there's even better,

and that's when you're right on the terrace.

This is for me personally the highlight.

Now, everybody be quiet.

Do you hear anything?

Nah, neither do I. You can't hear a thing.

Maybe a little back there. Pool that's rippling,

but otherwise absolute silence.

That's luxury.

In Germany, 8,300 hotels have a star classification.

4 stars are among others for a 24-hour reception,

Beverage service, Hotel bar, breakfast buffet.

In the rooms a.o. minibar, couch with side table, bathrobe,

Slippers, cosmetic articles and heating in the bathroom.

Only 1.5% of all hotels belong to the deluxe class.

And that's what makes them different: multilingual staff

and additional staff like concierge and bellboy.

Fresh flowers and a 24-hour room service.

Internet terminals, safe, Ironing and shoe polishing service

and the bed uncovering in the evening.

Back at TwentySeven, in the heart of Amsterdam.

* Music *

The hotel's own star restaurant

promises on his homepage "World-class gastronomy."

The exclusive dinner is not included in the room price.

How much do drinks cost? Food and service extra?

And: Is it worth the money?

* Music *

We were parked in the hallway. had to turn off the lights, too.

That's why it's just a little darker in the picture.

Because that could bother the guests.

Sure, for privacy, when people here pay a lot of money,

then I can understand it too.

condition for permission to film:

constant monitoring the hotel press officer.

Other guests are welcome Daniel Amann and not address the team.

Now I've got a table, but I have to go through the kitchen,

so we don't go around the front. and don't disturb the guests.

Oh, yeah, you want to come, too, right?

Hello.

This is it?

Here, yeah? Thank you. I'll take care of it.

There he sits.

In the last corner.

Hurry up over there.

That's enough.

Yeah, they're far away.

Here, too, every guest is provided with a glass of champagne.

How much is the glass going to cost now? - Sixteen and a half euros.

16.50. There's probably even more expensive, right?

Yes, we have Don Perignon, too. from 2009, and that's up to 35 euros.

35, that's 0.2 l then, right? - Yes, 0.2 l.

Okay. (laughs) Yeah, cheers then. - Cheers.

So hardly there, I've had two glasses of champagne.

That's good manners here: always champagne.

If you can't get any more, champagne.

The selection of wines:

for luxury hotels an important calling card.

Most expensive bottle costs here approximately 2,000 euro

* Music *

I was thinking about the champagne, that would be the dates, 1995,

but that's the price. for the bottle: 1.995 Euro.

And when you get it thicker,

you get a bottle, too. for 3.865 Euro.

At the same time, the overnight stay cheap again, right?

Has anyone ever seen that bottle for 3,865?

No, I'm afraid not yet.

It's still in the fridge.

I'd say it's about time, isn't it?

But I'm not doing it either.

Maybe you'd like that. No?

I'm afraid I can't.

Guests from Holland, Germany, but also increasingly from Russia,

Families as well as business people

normally enjoy here a 5-course or 7-course menu.

* Music *

For 75 or 100 Euro.

Daniel Amann tries to save money

and orders only Starter and main course.

* Music *

As you might expect, of course it tastes great, too.

But it's just a bit clear.

I realize that I'm probably not the canap type.

Unless you end up eating seven courses, as it is thought of here,

then of course you get full.

But then you'll get rid of 100 euros.

And where does Daniel Amann land? with his selection la carte?

Now we have here a total of 125,50 Euro.

It's an announcement for me, too, I think.

We had the glass of champagne, 16,50.

Then we have the two glasses of wine, 22 euros, a glass 11 euros.

Then the starter at 25, the main course with 55

and a little water for 7 euros, You're at 125.50 euros.

I'm going to let I'll write it in my room.

But I have to say, It's already ringing in your wallet.

What makes people tick? who's here for a night

spend so much money like others for a whole vacation?

Daniel Amann wants to know more about the guests of the luxury hotels.

With the camera in tow anything but simple.

The people they all don't want to be shown,

they don't want to be on TV.

But Sandro I'm glad he wants to be on TV.

You have some answers for me, Yeah?

Sandro's in charge of the drinks. And about the diamonds.

Diamonds in a bar?

Yeah, there's a drink with a friend. real Klunker in the glass. The price?

Here's another one: 27,000 euros for a drink.

Can one at sunrise or sunset.

Has anyone ever ordered this? - Yes, we had two times.

First time it was ordered but it was discontinued.

Something went wrong.

And what was wrong on the first order?

It was a personal matter from the couple who ordered it, not from us.

It was negative, the answer, so... - Ah, okay.

That's annoying, of course.

Sandro just told me, Someone ordered it before.

for 27,000 euros, there's a real diamond in there.

But unfortunately, that one has no. I said. That was a marriage proposal.

If he'd had a bottle of that stuff before. I should have ordered some champagne,

then maybe she would be I was in a better mood.

27,000 euros. For one drink.

Real diamond included.

Daniel would rather choose a nightcap from the lower price region

for 12 Euro.

Among the most popular drinks a classic counts: whiskey.

And in a hotel of this class.

it must not, of course. to be anybody.

I think it's 600 per shot.

One shot 600, that's just one shot of Whiskey.

He just told me, there's a bottle up there,

It costs a pin, 30 cc's, 600 euros.

That's the range, where you can't keep up,

that you can't understand anymore, at least I am.

600 Euro for 30 ml. Almost as expensive as Daniel's suite.

Nevertheless, the whiskey is often bartender Sandro reveals.

Either now I could 50 of these screw in

or just a pinch of that Schnapps here for just under 600 euros.

Well, you better get to bed.

The Kranzbach at the foot of the Zugspitze

is going for another luxury-- Promise: Relaxation and peace.

What's the end result? on the bill as well?

One of the great offers there's wellness in this hotel.

Equipped with my mules, the bathrobe

and the in-house purse I'm gonna go look for it.

Most lucrative target group: Couples over 65.

They're doing just under 1/4 of the total turnover

the wellness industry.

You know, where's the spa?

Is that it that way? - There.

That way? - Up ahead, right.

Do you have to go? May I come with you? - Yes, it is.

Where did you come from? - From large cakes.

Where's that? - I'll show you.

Oh, we can look right here.

There's the needle. Thomas, you stay here.

Thomas, here.

You know where it is. He found it.

There, the 2, there's big cake. - Ah, great.

95% of the guests come from Germany.

But especially for longer stays. and special cures

even from the remotest corners of the world. of the world.

Then I'll show you now, where I come from.

We're going to have to do that for once. I'm gonna stick a needle in Hattingen.

Hattingen lies in the Ruhr area. - Oh, my God. Oh, my God.

This is Bochum. Actually, since someone came from Hattingen.

Then we'll do it here again. Hattingen, that's where I'm from.

Well, that's a little bit.

The use of the 5 pools, 8 saunas and steam baths

is included in the room price.

Applications such as massages or Beauty treatments cost extra.

The absolute majority the wellness holidaymaker

wants package deals.

Even though the is usually a little more expensive

as separately booked individual applications.

Hello. - Good morning, sir.

Greetings.

Hello Mr. Amann, good morning.

Hello. - Greetings.

Oh, are you a masseuse? That was a good grip, though.

What are the classic ones? Back massage, how much does it cost?

Wait a minute, I'll show you.

The healing massage lies when you 25 min at 38 euros.

Or 68 euros,

when you say it's okay a little longer.

This is also the classic Treatment that many guests book.

Now we are at 38, 68 Euro with the classical healing massage.

Can I save some money?

if I book in advance, over the Internet? - No, I'm not.

You can't, that's a set price?

No, we've got a special offer for all the guests. the same price,

nobody is disadvantaged or preferred.

Then I'd make it look like the crowd I'll do it.

Then I'll take a look at the classic healing massage of 50 min

and the meditation.

What's the total price?

68 for massage and the 14 for meditation.

Okay, 82 euros we're on.

And you come deep down relaxed. out again.

Yes, I'm curious.

Worldwide competition is leading

to the wealthy beauty customers to, well, creative ideas.

At Ada Barak's Spa in Israel you swear by snake massages.

With real snakes.

The brave can get their act together here. from the smooth animals,

that gently over the body and let them wind and relax.

Under Japanese Geishas

was nightingale excrement as a special tip for clean skin.

In the modern version

sterilized and mixed with rice bran.

It couldn't be more exclusive:

During the gold massage at the Hotel Grand Resort in Bad Ragaz

24 carat gold leafs on the skin.

Should tighten the connective tissue and let the skin shine all over again.

Which wishes are the most important German luxury guests,

hotel manager Klaus King knows.

Absolute privacy can be found in the tree house Deluxe

from approx. 600 Euro per night.

But send rooms alone are not enough,

to meet the needs of our wealthy clientele to convince the people

This is really the first Meditation house worldwide.

This was written by the world architect Kengo Kuma built

and is framed with 1,550 wooden shingles,

where each is different.

When I hear it, world architect, 1,550 wooden shingles,

then the question forces itself upon me, how much did this place cost?

This place was a good seven figures.

I'm gonna go talk to of 1.5 million euros, yes?

Just talk about it.

Do you get that at all? about the meditation courses,

you're selling back in? - No, I'm not.

So that's more like image?

It's image, it's marketing. and it's good for the guests.

That's the most important thing. - Okay. (laughs)

1 h Meditation group costs just 14 euros,

but is a unique selling point.

More than 1,000 hotels

advertise in Germany with their wellness offer.

It's a place where you build a meditation house for over a million,

to distance yourself.

This gives the hotel Attention and therefore guests.

In addition to wellness, equipment and upscale cuisine set luxury hotels

also with many psychological Tricks to create your own fragrance brand.

Do you smell anything?

It definitely smells nice, so doesn't smell bad.

We have a own Kranzbach fragrance,

He's also going into the underground car park, in certain corridors.

It's a natural scent. about natural resins from tree resins.

It's being sprayed.

That's what the parking lot smells like. after relaxation.

Hello, greetings.

Have you been here long? - I've been there about 30 minutes.

30 minutes, okay.

Are you a frequent guest here? - For the second time.

What do you think of the hotel? - Tree house.

We were just there, we looked at each other, too.

May I ask, perhaps: What do you pay for your room?

Or for the house?

I think I'll pay 600 a night.

But with company probably? - Two.

To 2. then about 600 a night, okay.

If there are any more complaints. there, here we have the boss.

Hello. - Hello, nice to meet you.

No, I'm perfectly happy. - Everything's fine.

Great, yeah.

We've come for the tree house.

and also about the new meditation house.

Let me tell you something: it cost about a million and a half.

But you must now I don't want to feel guilty about it,

if you pay only for 14 Euro book the meditation.

He says you have to I wouldn't finance it here anyway.

That doesn't pay off.

Have a nice vacation. Thank you. Thank you.

The old porter's lodge with a of the hotel's most exclusive suites.

100 square meters, a ladies' room and a gentlemen's room.

This is available from 332 Euro per person.

You have to book at least for 2 persons and 2 nights.

That's a good 1.300 Euro for the weekend.

For a few questions. sit down? - Anytime.

Is the question of whether we're going to be or a lady's bedroom.

I think that's where we should be to get to know each other first,

Let's go on the sofa.

I was wondering, now. we'll talk about 310 euros a night.

Is the rich clientele a good clientele?

The rich clientele, like you. to describe it is more difficult

than the middle class or the one where you don't have to.

What makes that more difficult?

The hard part is simple, they're more spoiled than others.

The claims or Expectations are often higher.

And, of course, you have to do that. as a hotelier.

You're playing them something,

you put something in their heads, what they expect.

And if you're going to have these expectations. you'll be through.

Who was that?

A lot of actors, a lot of politicians.

The important thing is:

Everyone has a white bathrobe. They're all the same.

And everyone pays the same.

And you'll never get a picture I'm gonna see somebody's face,

where I get photographed.

In the world of the outcast of luxury hotels

are the salaries of the staff very earthly.

The hotel has 180 employees.

From the cleaner for a good 1,800 euros to the head of the department,

also known as Chef de Rang, for up to 2.800 Euro.

Part of the service staff

is currently preparing for the dinner that's coming up.

Here is about every single guest Book kept.

Hello. Just keep going.

9a: 3 persons, take the dog with you.

87a: Water with gas.

22 and 200: 4 persons, Water with, water still.

Table 42: the lady has a garlic allergy.

Table 30: gluten-free.

Can I hook up for a second? How do you know all this?

Is that in advance were queried?

Are these empirical values from the first few nights?

Yes, experience from the first evenings,

and then we'll do this micromarketing.

For example, if we know about a guest, who has gluten intolerance

and lactose intolerance, we'll put it in a file.

It's very elaborate, but help us,

and the guest has a little wow. Effect: They remembered something.

When I sit here as a guest,

What can I do for you? Give pleasure?

What if I take the crumbs away myself?

Finally, if there's anything is rewarded with a good tip.

With a tip.

What's a good tip?

Do they talk about 5 euros, 10? - From 5, and then up.

Everything that appears, you're happy. - Very good.

Half board is included in the room price.

Another choice, e.g. just breakfast, you don't have it here.

And so also no possibility to save money.

The drinks cost extra.

The wine, by the way. until the next evening

stored locked up, so enjoy it for several days.

* Music *

The next morning.

Time for the inclusive breakfast.

50 kinds of homemade rolls,

90 different types of biscuits from the in-house baker:

the former federal winner and European champion in the baking trade

Eberhard Holz.

Now, if you'll excuse me for saying this. with other hotels,

how is this gonna work? an enormous additional expense?

Where is the additional cost here? in a luxury hotel of this kind?

That's already financially a great feat of strength, no question about it.

But it pays off. for this house.

If that's the way you want it, like downstairs, this spa department,

we are the marketing department from the house.

Because with a good breakfast. I have to go, right? - Yes, it is.

Have you got some more numbers for me,

so how much you need to order,

what your order looks like, how much does the order cost?

About a month we have a material input

between 13,000 and 16,000 euros.

13,000 to 16,000 a month, just to show off the baked goods?

The baked goods. - Just the baked goods?

We also make the chocolate. and the cakes, and that's all.

It's still in there, okay.

But sausage and cheese? - That's none of our business.

That's good. That's good.

That's marketing too: a way to sumptuous, handmade breakfast,

about which even the spoiled audience still speaks later.

Time, the wellness weekend to add up:

one night with half board: 283 euros.

Plus the wellness program, Drinks and tips.

total power just under 400 euros for one night.

And: You have to book normally for at least 2 nights.

Back in Amsterdam.

What extras end up in the luxury-- City Hotel still on the bill?

Breakfast is not included in the room price.

Tomorrow, here we are.

First night over, I'm hungry now.

You can get breakfast here. not down at the buffet, by the way,

but either la carte or man I can take it up to the room.

I'll have it taken to my room. to the hospital.

The standard breakfast, 30 euros, I'll order once.

And that's what I picked out: fresh yoghurt with fruits.

If we're back to 16 euros. Breakfast: 46 Euro. Let's go.

Here comes the guest not the breakfast buffet,

but the butler with the breakfast to the guest.

I'm looking, I had 46 euros in my head,

but now we're 52.50 euros.

What else came along? Or did I look wrong?

The service to bring it up to the room.

Okay, that's the 10 euros? - Yes.

Okay, 10 euros for you to tell me. to the room.

Been a long way, huh?

If the butler service becomes classic room service,

it's gonna cost extra.

What's wrong with me right now, is pepper and salt.

We don't have that here.

I'd say that screams after a call to the butler.

Good Morning, this is Daniel.

I need salt and pepper.

Okay, thank you.

Come back as soon as you can.

* Doorbells *

What's that?

If that's salt and pepper, it just lasted 30 seconds.

I'll put it to you on the table. - That was very fast.

* Music *

I had the feeling, he was waiting for the call.

and was already standing in front of the door with salt and pepper.

Maybe he was standing outside the door. and waited.

I'm going to take a look.

Nah, it's not there yet.

No, nobody there.

But he was really quick, the only took a few seconds,

until the one with salt and pepper at the door.

There's a price to pay.

Luxury also means to be able to not to have to take care of anything yourself.

Of course not to tidy up and clean up.

Talking of cleaning:

There's one thing I have to tell you. I'll have to show you.

Where the luxury for me here is all clearly unfolded, is on toilet.

Look here, there goes I'll open the lid myself.

It's all luxury, you don't need.

Take a look, when you sit on it.

Shh. Can you hear that?

Then a blower comes on, which sucks the smell away.

Below we have nor underfloor lighting,

I remember it from the car, when we were tuning.

Is there any now? at the toilet.

The toilet lid is also heated.

And we have various Setting options.

I wonder what's happening, when I'm squeezing the woman here.

Conclusion: pure luxury. I don't know, I don't know, if it's absolutely necessary.

* Music *

For perfectly made beds in the morning and in the evening

the housekeeping, as well as the for absolutely flawless cleanliness.

I'm gonna go a few things differently,

and you can take a look, which would actually be perfect.

Okay. (laughs) - Yeah, fine.

One turn, but stay here.

Stay here and turn around.

Daniel Amann prepares a small, playful test

for housekeeping chief Miriam.

Let's see how many details actually catch her eye.

What did that housekeeping lady like that?

* Music *

So, Miriam, it's done. - Okay. (laughs)

It's served. You can do it.

Like a test? - A little test, yes.

* Music *

That was definitely the first thing, recognized them directly.

* Music *

Yeah, that's right. Point number two.

How many points to go?

Not bad, that was point three.

I wouldn't have thought so, that you see it the same way.

Yes.

This one should be not all the way to the end.

Yes, this one was number one.

Number two.

Fingerprints definitively.

What is really important is that the zip lines will be always under.

The zipper must always be down, she says.

You did it.

You don't care,

whether the remote left or right?

To the guests at TwentySeven apparently not.

Daniel Amann is on the way

to the boss and owner the Amsterdam posh hostel.

I think this is where we're supposed to meet, at the restaurant.

Here you'll also find wiped off diligently.

Eric Toren, two-time hotelier of the year,

already owns several hotels.

A year ago the TwentySeven came along.

The man doesn't seem to have enough I'll get it for you. The only question is, what from?

I once did a rough job I've done the math.

If the hotel is completely would be booked up all year round,

you'd be about 7 million euros in sales.

What's the price here? Where's the money going?

Turnover doesn't mean profit, you know. will also have some cost.

I think we're gonna win something, that's over 3, 4 years.

They don't calculate for 3 to 4 years. in the black,

that you can make profits? - Yes, because...

Also e.g. the lamp here, These are design lamps.

How much is that? - Uh, a lot.

Is it possible to in concrete terms somehow?

More than a Mercedes.

More than a Mercedes? The one lamp?

And we've got six or seven of those.

Okay, what class of Mercedes? E-Class?

Higher class.

Because everything that is design, is of course expensive.

And that's handmade, and so we have a lot of things here.

That every room is individually designed,

is in hotels of this category almost self-evident.

For the equipment give luxury hotels are worth millions.

A worthwhile investment.

The yield per room is in the deluxe class

almost twice as high as that of a average 4-star hotels.

But the elitist audience I'm sorry for any mistakes.

That's why the TwentySeven

For six months before the opening. rehearsed with test guests.

Eric Toren in the 2,500-euro suite.

It's triple, bulletproof glass.

I'm thinking 5,000 or so.

On the walls: no wallpaper,

but noble fabrics and international art.

The carpet: one in Nepal according to Dutch design specifications

hand knotted unique specimen.

The room doors: extra thick, completely soundproof.

The suite costs in high season up to 8.000 Euro.

The salaries have the opposite effect of the staff is manageable.

What does a butler like that deserve? for example here to get started?

Between 2,400 and 2,600 gross.

How many people are busy here,

to make this work? - I think 80, 90.

For just 16 suites mind you.

And what has Daniel's Trip de Luxe now tasted in total?

Goede middag. - Goede middag.

I'd like to check out sometime, please.

650 Euro pure overnight price.

Restaurant, bar and breakfast on top.

And there's more: Tips, snacks and a minibar.

And that's how you get fast over 940 Euro

for one night in one of the cheap suites.

Thank you very much, sir. - Have a nice day, bye-bye.

Only 1.5% of all hotels can keep up in the luxury segment.

The most important criteria for the wealthy guests:

24-hour all-round service, extravagant design

and an extensive Wellness offer.

That seems to be paying off:

The demand for overnight stays in German luxury hotels

has been in the past summer months by a whopping 30%.

Trend: further upward.

Klopp has a message for Liverpool fans worried about stumbling in the title race - Duration: 3:16.

Super computer predicts Man City vs Liverpool result… and reveals WHO will end up on top - Duration: 5:30.

Stats geeks at Football Web Pages have come up with a formula that works out the chances of each possible result in every game left this season in the Premier League

There is a percentage likelihood of each match resulting in a 'home' win, a 'draw' or an 'away' win - predictions which are re-calculated after every goal is scored

**PREDICT FIVE RESULTS AND WIN £25,000 - FREE TO PLAY HERE** And the calculations say Manchester City and unbeaten Liverpool will draw 1–1 at the Etihad

The formula says a City win is 39.2 per cent likely while a win for unbeaten Liverpool is 32

1 per cent. A draw has a 28.7 per cent chance but 1-1 is the most likely result. Jurgen Klopp's men are seven points clear at the top and Football Web Pages' predicted table says they will end up champions on 106 points

And, in doing so, they will end up unbeaten with 34 wins and four draws, conceding just nine more goals in the process

City are predicted to come home second, 11 points adrift of Liverpool, with Tottenham in third (91 points) and Chelsea (81 points) fourth

Arsenal are predicted to finish fifth and Manchester United sixth. Pep Guardiola expects his Manchester City players to be on top form when they take on title rivals Liverpool at the Etihad Stadium

Having been nip and tuck with Jurgen Klopp's side throughout the first three months of the season, City suffered an unexpected wobble with defeats by Crystal Palace and Leicester

City did get back to winning ways against Southampton last weekend but were not entirely convincing while Liverpool completed a month in which they won all eight games with a brilliant 5-1 crushing of Arsenal

Guardiola said: "If we lose, it will be because they're better and we were poorer than them

But I don't have the feeling the players don't have confidence. They know exactly what they have to do

" Klopp has been described as Guardiola's Kryptonite, and Liverpool have won three of the last four meetings between the sides, although City did win last season's home Premier League game 5-0

Guardiola insisted he enjoys taking on Klopp's teams, saying: "It's an incredible pleasure

I'm a manager to play these kind of games to see what we can do on the big stage with a lot of people supporting us in our stadium

"It's a dream to play these kind of games. It's when I'm most calm, more relaxed

I know the players have the responsibility and will give the best performance they can

" If City are to secure the win they desperately need, they will have to get past Liverpool defender Virgil Van Dijk who, a year on from his record transfer, has been arguably the league's most important player

"He's an exceptional player," said Guardiola. "When a player costs whatever it costs and it works, it is well worth it

When you pay less and it doesn't work, it is so expensive. If he can play every three days with no injuries and play consistently, it is well worth it

" The two managers were both keen to talk up their opponents, hailing each other's as the best team in the world

Klopp is eager to put all the talk and predictions to bed, saying: "Yes, with the record we had in December, we had a good moment and we have a very, very, very good football team

"That's why we have the amount of points, that's why we had the results. But we prepare for one game

"A couple of weeks ago we were a point behind and then (the talk) was if we lose, then it's four points, can you close that gap

It's all only talk. It has nothing to do with the reality. "A big part of the football world is talking about it before it happens

But we are there to let it happen. We are very excited because it's a very interesting game, we're looking forward to it, but apart from that it's a normal situation

Aubameyang reveals why Lacazette gave him confidence after Arsenal move - Duration: 3:15.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has made a big impact at Arsenal following his move from Borussia Dortmund 12 months ago

Netting on his debut for the club in the 5-1 mauling of Everton last February, the goals have continued to flow for the 29-year-old

The striker is currently one behind Mohamed Salah's total of 16 league goals this campaign and you certainly wouldn't bet against him picking up the Premier League Golden Boot come the end of May

Utilised on the wing at times with Alexandre Lacazette also competing to lead the line for the Gunners, Aubameyang has revealed that the French striker gave him confidence upon his arrival in north London one year ago

"It's a feeling, we know when one is coming, so we have a good feeling," he told Sky Sports when asked about his understanding with the ex-Lyon man

"We were rivals before in France, I was not expecting for him to be my friend, but today is different

"At first when I came here, he gave me a lot of confidence, because we spoke straight

"We have the same vision about football, which is a good point between us, and that's the point that started this friendship

"When one comes to the ball, the other goes deep. It's about filling in.  "You lift your head up and see he is going into space, it's about feeling as well

"If we have to give the ball to a guy in better space, you have to give him the ball

"That's what happens between us."    Not always used upfront by both Arsene Wenger and Unai Emery during his time at the Emirates, the Gabon international feels his best position is through the middle but he will play anywhere for the team

"My favourite role is playing striker, in front," he added. "I also like playing on the wing, but I think my best position is striker

"I like to play with two up front, it's nice because you can do some combinations with the other strikers

"If the coach needs me on the right or on the left, it doesn't matter, I go and I fight for the team, it's no problem

Royal Kids - Prince Harry and Meghan Markle had a hilarious reaction after a boy dropped the f-word - Duration: 2:00.

Oops!  Prince Harry and Meghan Markle has the best reaction after a young boy dropped the f-bomb in front of them yesterday

As part of their snowy visit to Bristol on Friday, the royal parents-to-be attended a workshop with local children as part of the Old Vic's outreach program

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were taken by surprise, though, when one boy seamlessly dropped the f-bomb in front of them

Speaking about his experience at the historic theatre, he said:  A video of the moment - including Meghan and Harry's reaction - was shared by Instagram fan account @harry_meghan_updates

It shows the royal mum-to-be slightly raising her eyebrows, before letting out a laugh as Harry jokingly has to balance himself

The couple are expecting their first child in late April or early May this year

The news was announced ahead of their 16-day international tour of Oz, New Zealand, Fiji and Tonga late last year
