hey so um for Isaac and zach's christmas

gift I took them ice skating today I was going to invite some of Zach's

friends, but they were out of town, um I told Isaac he

could invite one friend because I can get a

certain amount of people into ice skating

for free, but since Zach's friends are out of town I told him he could invite three & Zach

absolutely adores all of Isaac's friends.

So I went ice skating with them and it

was really great. I don't think Zach had a great

time because he said he didn't have a

good time. Um, he likes ice skating he just had

a really bad fall towards end and then he

didn't appreciate going ice skating and

not having to wait in line and getting hot

chocolate, and nachos, and chipotle.

Isaac bought him the chipotle, which I found out

i'm saying it wrong and i know i'm

saying it wrong, but i can't remember how

to say it the right way so I'm just

going to keep doing this.

Umm, it was kind of a bad day because really

late now. i tried to start laundry before

we left Ice skating at my mom's house, but

that didn't work because it took, because

my mom decided to do her bedding

even thoughI told her I was coming to do ice

skating and I was going to bring some

dirty laundry to do.

so instead of starting it at like ten

like i wanted to I didn't get to start it

until 4pm which was well after we got

back because my mom was still doing

laundry, just her bedding, which I'm kind of

annoyed because she knew I was coming and she knew that I didn't

want to spend the whole night there and

Iended up having to take an uber back to

the apartment and it was like 1030 or 11

and it was just very inconvenient, ugh, really.

I, yeah, it was. i really didn't want to

have to stay the whole day at the house

doing basically nothing except for

laundry and cleaning and I guess I

watched a little bit of arrow at one point,

but i kinda I wanted to do stuff and be

productive today and I was planning on

having dinner with Victor and being able

to spend some time with him and I didn't

get to because then it finish our

laundry until it 1030 at night and

that's really annoying because i was

kind of having trying to have it

all done by five at the latest.

yeah, Ialso had to spend a lot of money

to pay for parking because um one of

Isaac's friends was nice enough to drive

us and I paid for parking for him so he didn't have

to worry about it and I paid for snacks

for Zach when, because he was hungry and

honestly I had to pay for an uber which I

didn't want to do. I want to just take

the bus, but the stuff, clothing, can be heavy

and I was by myself and we don't live in

that safe of the neighborhood. I like to

get home before dark if I can, it makes

things a whole lot easier for me. and I

didn't do any of those things, so i think

i was going to do you can do.. there is

laundry in the apartment building it

just costs money, but honestly it costs me

less money to do my laundry here and

have it coming out of the

dryer a bit damp, but um that's better

than spending like twenty dollars trying

to get an uber and not eating dinner

at home because I it's just it's less

expensive to do it here and kind of stinks,

but also i don't see much point in me

being with my family at this moment

because I don't, I already don't have a

relationship with them to begin with

except for Zach, but Zach spent most

of the day telling me that he didn't

like me. So i'm probably going to take a

break from going to the house for a

couple weeks

well until my mom's birthday on the

first and then I'm gonna have to go

again for eric's birthday on the seventh,

but after that i might not go back until like February

like we're gonna have permissions

so friends can do certain things

but they can't do you know

keep in mind when you're making

"Hizmet is a true embodiment of the Islamic ideals of love and service to the other" - Duration: 6:42.

I've seen many un-Islamic cults play out in the world today.

You have ISIS, you have Al-Qaeda, you have Boko Haram, you have Al-Shabaab,

you have other similar groups.

Hizmet is NOT and un-Islamic cult.

From my interaction with the volunteers, it's anything but.

This is a group of people that I have observed to carry out the best of Islamic ideals;

kindness, hospitality, love, service; selfless service.

They are mainstream in their aqeedah, in their creed,

as far as the Sunni Islamic school of thought goes.

They read the Quran; they pray five times a day; they fast.

They're very spiritual people.

They don't push their beliefs, their Islamic beliefs, on non-Muslims.

That's not what they're out to do; they're out to serve the world, Muslim and non-Muslim alike.

So in terms of being an "un-Islamic cult" it's anything but that.

And in terms of what they really are, in my opinion,

is a true embodiment of the Islamic deals of love and service to the other.

And I've never seen anything to suggest otherwise.

I'm a civil rights activist.

I'm a human rights activist.

I don't take my marching orders from demagogues, whether they're domestic or foreign,

whether they're elected or they're dictators.

What I look at is process, and what's absent in Turkey today that troubles me is process.

What's absent in Egypt today that troubles me is process.

What may be absent in America soon, the way things are going, is process.

And in each of those examples I say due process is the arbiter

between those who accuse and those who defend.

And it has to be independent judiciary;

it has to be judges and a court that is not in anybody's corner.

What we're seeing in Turkey, unfortunately, is a situation where government is essentially run by one party

that acts as both the accuser/the prosecutor, the judge and the executioner.

And those who are accused don't really have any leeway in the system to be able to defend themselves.

Those who know Hizmet, who have interacted with Hizmet, they're the farthest thing from violence.

They've never promoted violence; they've never accepted violence;

they've been the first to condemn violence, including a violent overtake of a Republic, a coup.

They've condemned this coup, and they've never promoted anything close to it.

They've never been involved in anything that is violent in nature.

So this goes against common sense.

Now that the accusation is there, we're going to have to ask for proof.

And, even if there are individuals who may be associated with the Hizmet

who are involved in one crime or another, including a coup,

.. the question becomes: at what point do you essentialize the entire movement

of millions of people who are essentially volunteers who want to serve humanity

through the Islamic ideals.

A teacher, a 24-year old woman who's serving in a school in some remote part of Turkey,

or in Pakistan, or in Kazakhstan, or anywhere in the world where they tend to build schools

in areas of underserved, underprivileged communities.

And so a young woman like that who's working at a kindergarten for example,

how is she affiliated or associated with that particular crime?

What you look at here is a witch hunt; what you look at here is 'guilt by association'...

things that are not in the tradition of liberal justice, liberal values, the democracy's espouse.

And it's exactly what is happening around the world when people in power want to shut out

those who are not in their pockets, those who they can't control, or those whom they don't like.

When you're moving towards autocracy, when you're becoming a demagogue,

when you become the state, "l'état, c'est moi", "I am the state",

and when you shut out opposition, shut down media, imprison journalists,

declare organizations or schools or mosques or associations or universities or charities

as terrorist organizations just by a signature,

then I have to say, that is incorrect, and that is problematic, and that is unjust!

And I'll raise my voice, as a Muslim, as a human being,

but also as a civil rights and human rights activist

because civil rights and human rights are not piecemeal, they cannot be divided,

they cannot be allocated to one group and then denied another.

I believe that ideals are only good and are only meaningful if they apply to all human beings

and so I'm not concerned about where the politics align themselves,

I'm not concerned about what's in it for me, or will I get tarnished,

or will I get made into a hero, that's not a consideration.

It's simply a belief in blind due process, blind independent judiciary,

and having the procedures and the processes of justice apply everywhere, equally, to all people.

When I read the news that all these schools are shut down in Pakistan,

it really hurt me because Pakistan is in need of schools, it's in need of education.

We hear about the radicalization, we hear about the illiteracy,

we hear about the lack of education in parts of the country;

same in the United States, same anywhere in the world.

And anyone who is putting themselves into service in order to build schools

and educate young people -- as someone who built an organization, I understand how much effort that takes,

every wall that is painted, every nail that is hammered into that wall and then pictures hung up,

every computer that is bought and connected, every rug that is placed on the ground,

every chair and every table...

And then all of the content that comes along with the education,

or the civil rights services, in our cases, etc.,

it takes so much to build an organization, a single classroom,

.. and here you have a school of many classrooms, and then you have a movement of many schools.

On all of that, think back to the simple nailing of a nail into the wall and all of the work that went with it.

All of that is just with one signature of a President or Prime Minister,

for political pressure or for personal gain, shuts it all down.

It's so hard to build. It's so easy to destroy.

And we, Muslim-Americans and people of conscience, have to raise our voices and say, we don't stand for that!

Samsung, LG show off new Super Ultra HD TVs at CES 2017 - Duration: 2:39.

One of the biggest fixtures on the tech calendar kicks off this week in Las Vegas with market

leaders and start-ups showing off their latest gadgets.

This year's Consumer Electronics Show marks its 50th anniversary... and Korea's tech giants

-- Samsung and LG -- are using the event to unveil their new TVs and smart home appliances.

Ro Aram tells us more.

It seems Samsung Electronics is trying to put their Galaxy Note 7 fiasco behind them

by focusing on TVs and smart kitchen appliances.

The firm unveiled its new Super Ultra HD TV with Quantum Dot technology - or QLED TV - which

Samsung says represents its best achievement in image quality and viewing experience yet.

"With picture, this is the the best picture quality that Samsung has ever put into a television.

We are going to give it a much wider contrast.

Much deeper blacks.

Much brighter brights with optimal peak brightness, achieving up to 2000 nits,"

At its press conference, Samsung also said the TVs can be wall-mounted with minimal gaps.

It also announced an improved smart hub system that allows users to catch up on the latest

programs, movies and sport.

But rival LG Electronics is not backing down.

It also unveiled its SUHD TV lineup with nano cell display technology, which LG says reduces

screen glow and claims has better picture quality than Samsung's QLED.

The firm also showed off its ultrathin OLED W TV, which is less than three millimeters

thick.

"What we are showing here at CES 2017 is what we call our W7, or nicknamed wallpaper, OLED

TV.

We nicknamed it wallpaper because it takes the OLED panel itself, strips everything else

away, and is able to be mounted directly on the wall."

The two firms are also battling it out on the home appliance front.

Samsung introduced Family Hub 2.0... a new series that expands the firm's smart refrigerator

models from four to ten.

New features include View Inside Camera and buying groceries as well as improvements in

recipe browsing and shopping lists.

LG's latest Smart InstaView fridge houses Amazon's virtual assistant Alexa, allowing

it to be told to play music and buy goods via voice command.

It also reminds owners of birthdays and anniversaries and when products inside are nearing their

expiration dates.

These are just a fraction of products that will be showcased at CES 2017...

with eyes also turning to autonomous vehicles, virtual and augmented reality, smart beauty

products, among others.

Hi my name is Kenneth,

and I'm a 22 year old photographer from Australia.

I picked up my mum's camera when I was about

15 years old.

And she wasn't using it, it was just kind of collecting dust at that time

so I picked it up and thought "I'll give it a go"

and started taking photos around the backyard

and thought "this was pretty cool".

Right now I'm still in university,

but on the weekends, I'm a wedding photographer.

Every wedding for me is a challenge because

every couple is different and

people that I meet every weekend are different as well

And also it's a good opportunity for myself to meet other people.

I believe that everybody

has to have some form of creative outlet, no matter what it is

Since I was a little kid, I've always had trouble

conveying my thoughts and what I felt into something

and I've always admired people who can draw

and who can write, because those two were challenges for me.

And ever since picking up my mum's camera

I've kind of, saw that as a creative outlet for myself

to express what I couldn't before.

I really do enjoy travelling as well

so I guess you can say my goal is to

one day be an international wedding photographer

Which will allow me

How to Use Radical Keys (Turn on Subtitles/CC) - Duration: 2:16.

This will be a how-to use the Radical Keys for the Casio fx-9750GII.

By first going to the basic math menu (1), we want to hit Shift and SET-UP (MENU KEY), then F1 to have it in Complex Mode.

Once set to Complex Mode, exit.

Then we want to hit shift, and then X^2 (Radical Sign) to get the radical sign.

This button automatically finds the SQUARE Root of a number, this case, 11.

Doing it again for a perfect root, the SQUARE Root of 121, being 11.

For the CUBE Root, we hit SHIFT once again, and hit the " ( " (or 3√ ) button.

In this case, the CUBE Root of -1728 is -12.

Let's say we want to find a root not being Square or Cubed, the 4th root for this example.

We hit whichever number root we want, in this case, 4, then hit SHIFT. We then hit the " ^ " (or x√) button. This automatically makes the first number X.

We find that the FOURTH Root of 81 is 3.

Note this doesn't go over to find Imaginary Roots, which all you need to do is go back to the SET-UP from the beginning, scroll down to Complex Mode, and hit F2, changing it from Real numbers to Imaginary.

If not done, an error will occur.

The Rubik's Cube Metaphor - Duration: 2:16.

it was a sight to behold, but that ship has long since passed or at least it should've.

Why hasn't it?

I sat down and learned how to solve it in a weekend and I've been amazing people ever

since.

And it has also become a metaphor to me.

Just look at it for a moment, what do you see?

Basic shape, colors, nine squares on each side, what else?

I'll tell you what most people miss, the patterns.

It blows right over people's minds, because they don't know it's there.

Look at your life, what do you see?

It all boils down to pattern recognition and formulas.

You have to know what to look for before you can start solving it.

You don't want to toss yourself into a mess and just hope for the best.

You can only get so far.

Most people can intuitively get one side of it done, but they leave it as that, no questions

asked, "Here's your cube back."

Then they still sit there, in awe.

They never bother to learn the situation that surrounds the mess.

Every problem has a solution that requires a specific set of steps to make it work.

These can be learned.

They can be learned by trial and error or by training, either way they can be learned.

Unfortunately, life isn't as clean and mathematical as the cube.

It won't always wield same results every time, but there is always a pattern and a

logical solution.

Nothing happens to people just to happen to people, although, it may seem like it.

Sadly many people may treat their life like they treat the cube.

It's the mindset that counts.

The Rubik's Cube may be insignificant to learn on its own, but the meaning goes so

much deeper.

What's to say that people won't start slipping that mindset into situations that

they actually care about?

It may just be a cube, but the way I see it is that I can literally hold the answer to

many of life's problems.

Till the end of the world,

world, which looks into the Gospel,

remain a symbol of someone,

who has a lot of reserves,

nobody knows where is it from,

but in spite of this reserve,

he can speak it out loud.

Exactly!

Make another step.

Step, which consist in the fact,

that he is sharing this reserve,

and hears - Well, good,

I know that ypu do not like Nazareth.

That you have a lot of bad experiences,

with different kinds of religious freaks,

and frauds.

But Jesus is different,

just come and see.

And Nathanael goes and sees.

Maybe you have a lot of

skeptical comments to christianity,

church, Holy Mass and confession.

It is important for you to talk about it,

but in the same time to feel the moment,

when somebody says -

- Listen, I respect your experience and your point of view,

but I go to a different church,

I know this priest and this person,

maybe you should try to meet them,

try to look closely.

Try to talk.

This can be a breakthrough.
