So we're on Mellow Yellow and you may find that kind of

interesting because yes the legislative

session has started but it doesn't mean

that we have to stop campaigning. We do the people's business during the day, sometimes the

early evening but that leaves the

night and that's when we get to get back on

mellow yellow and travel the Commonwealth

sharing our message of how we're going to make Virginia #1 again for business and job growth

I really appreciate everyone's support

of their time, their talent, their treasure

up to this point. It's created a

tremendous difference and for now we just have to

focus on doing the people's business

during the day at the legislature and then

getting back out on the road ensuring

our message and letting people know how we're going to

make a difference and grow economic

opportunities for all Virginians. We've just

finished up a tremendous month and

Our momentum has been building because we're

sharing the same message we've always

built and focusing on the same things that

we've always focused on which is

not just how to put more money in my proverbial

fundraising pockets but how to put more

money in your pocket. It's

why I went to MIT to find solutions

for coal to bring back to Southwest

Virginians. It's why I went to Estonia to find

manufacturing opportunities that we

could bring back to Virginia and all

that has gained more and more momentum and support

around the state, which has spearheaded a

weekly four sessions that has started a fundraiser

in Richmond by House Majority Leader

Kirk Cox who came out and endorsed us. And

I'm thrilled because the last day of session we're

going to kick off our march to victory

tour, yes the place intended

we have a number of people that are going to

come out and endorse our campaign and help us

as they travel the Commonwealth to gain

even more momentum for this race and

share a message of how we're going to make Virginia #1 again

for business and job growth starting in 2018.

So I'm excited to get back out there full time again

on this campaign but in the interim if I could be of

any assistance while I'm here in Richmond

Rose Quartz Didn't Shatter Pink Diamond ... on Purpose - Steven Universe Theory - Duration: 7:20.

So I've been thinking about this for a while now, and I've come to the conclusion that

Rose Quartz did not shatter Pink Diamond.

At least, not on purpose.

Stay with me here, because I'm about to say some things that'll definitely TRIGGER

the SU fandom – but it might also bring to light a few potential facts that we've

seen allusions to in previous Steven Universe episodes.

I love bringing in the actual composition of the gem minerals because I'd like to

believe there is some importance placed on their hardness as it relates to the Moh's

scale of mineral hardness.

The Quartz falls in at a 7 on the hardness scale.

The Diamond at a solid 10.

That's as hard as it comes.

So the question I'd ask is, how on Earth could a Quartz shatter a Diamond?

It's been said that Diamonds are indeed very hard and cannot be damaged by weaker

gems but can be damaged by other diamonds.

Other diamonds … we'll put a pin in that and return to that particular point.

But first let's wrap up the point of how, if in fact Pink Diamond is shattered into

shards of herself, just how that might have happened.

Returning to the mineral composition, It's impossible for a single Quartz of any type

to destroy a diamond – unless that quartz had access to hydrofluoric acid or set the

diamond on fire to burn at a high enough temperature, it ain't happening.

Although the diamond is at risk of shattering with just the right impact at just the right

point.

Now I did say it's impossible for a single quartz to destroy a diamond.

What if it were many quartz?

As we've seen in glimpses of the rebellion, like-gems can fuse with like-gems rather easily,

demonstrated by the rubies.

What if that room full of quartz gems we saw in the That Will Be All episode were all part

of the rebellion to take down the Diamond depicted in the hieroglyph?

What if that entire room full of quartz gems fused together to form one massive, giant

Rose Quartz to take on that Diamond?

One of the lyrics in the What's the use of feeling blue song are as follows:

Why would you want to employ her, Subjects that destroyed her?

Why would you want to employ her subjects that destroyed her.

This lyric reveals to us that Blue Diamond is possibly thinking about employing or assigning

duties to these quartz gems, possibly in homage to Pink Diamond.

But the second half of those lyrics also tells us that they all joined forces to supposedly

destroy Pink Diamond.

But how?

As we all know, the diamond gems are HUGE in height, towering over all other gems.

Rose Quartz is a gem of normal height.

But if we take a look at this mural, she's of comparable height to the diamond to which

she appears to be facing in battle.

And this particular statue of Rose Quartz isn't exactly true to scale to the Rose

we know.

It's a depiction of a massive Quartz gem, surrounded by normal sized quartz gems.

Based on what Yellow Diamond said in her song and these hieroglyphs and statue, we can safely

assume that the Rose Quartz gems combined to form a mega Quartz to oppose the diamond

during the rebellion.

Now, the reason I haven't specified which diamond was in fact shattered is because of

what we see here in the hieroglyphs compared to this statue we see of Pink Diamond's

likeness.

There are vast differences between the two, mainly the placement and shapes of their gems.

Here's my theory: Pink Diamond and Rose Quartz, upon coming to know the Earth civilization,

were both reluctant to carry out their initial plans of taking over our planet.

I'm theorizing this is actually White Diamond – White Diamond came to Earth possibly because

she caught wind of what was going on and decided to do what Pink Diamond was unable to do.

Pink Diamond and White Diamond fought for the fate of our civilization – as warriors

here to serve their creator Pink Diamond, the Rose Quartz gems combined to form a larger

version of themselves.

White Diamond was possibly too relentless in the fight, and Pink Diamond knowing the

only way to stop a diamond would be to destroy a diamond with a diamond – she casted off

her physical form leaving her diamond gem to be used as a weapon by the mega quartz

to destroy White Diamond.

Notice in the hieroglyphs this is in fact a pink triangular illustration possibly Pink

Diamond's diamond gem.

Here's where the M. Night Shamalan twist comes in – I'm theorizing, based on what

we know about how diamonds can be shattered if hit at the right point – the giant quartz

used Pink Diamond's gem to strike White Diamond … but she struck White Diamond's

gem improperly, or perhaps she miscalculated her striking technique … or perhaps those

little triangular shards played a factor.

But what ended up happening is Pink Diamond's gem ended up being the one to suffer from

the blow, causing Pink Diamond's gem to shatter upon impact.

Of course, the Rose Quartz didn't mean for this to happen.

It was all an accident.

So yes, the Rose Quartz did shatter Pink Diamond but not on purpose.

Possibly stricken with grief from the loss of their creator, the quartz gems deformed

with White Diamond capturing them all, with one sole quartz gem escaping – the Rose

Quartz we all know as Steven's mother.

Perhaps White Diamond had all the quartz she could find deformed and left them scattered

on Earth in their gem forms, as she went off to grieve in her own way.

It could explain why White Diamond is off somewhere missing, she couldn't possibly

face her sister Diamond gems to tell them the truth of the events that took place.

Pink Diamond was in fact her sister.

We have the ruby Eyeball to blame for relaying the message to homeworld of the events that

took place, completely misinterpreting what actually happened.

That it was an accident by the Rose Quartz.

Rose Quartz possibly returned to the sight of the events to find the other quartz and

bubbled what was left of them to memorialize them.

Visiting some time later to grieve the loss of her sister gem, Blue Diamond must have

come to Earth as she was known to do so and discovered the bubbled Rose Quartz gems and

decided to create a shrine to house the bubbled gems to remember Pink Diamond.

That's my theory and I'm sticking to it!

We'll have to wait and see if there's any true to any of it, based on what we know.

US Intel Vets Demand Obama Show Proof of Russian Hacking or Admit It Doesn�t Exist

(ANTIMEDIA) A group of intelligence, military, and diplomatic veterans known as Veteran Intelligence

Professionals for Sanity, or VIPS, have signed a letter calling on President Barack Obama

to release evidence regarding alleged Russian interference in the election.

Otherwise, the letter asserts, the outgoing president must admit proof is lacking.

VIPS was formed in 2003.

The group of former officers of the U.S. intelligence community is known for protesting government

officials� use of faulty intelligence � which was perpetuated by the media � as justification

for the U.S. invasion of Iraq.

Before the 2003 Iraq invasion, the group wrote a letter to George W. Bush claiming policy

makers were ignoring intelligence analysts.

In their latest attempt at ensuring the U.S. government is listening to the issues raised

by concerned members of the intelligence community, the group writes that �[u]nconfirmed accusations

continue to swirl alleging that Russian President Vladimir Putin authorized �Russian hacking�

that helped put [President-elect Donald] Trump in the White House.�

Pressing Obama, who is �[p]resident for a few more days,� for more proof, the group

adds that he has �the power to demand concrete evidence of a link between the Russians and

WikiLeaks, which published the bulk of the information in question.� If Obama and his

administration do not have such evidence, the group adds, �the American people should

be told that there is no fire under the smoke and mirrors of recent weeks.�

In an exclusive interview with the Russian TV channel RT, American computer programmer,

businessman, and former presidential candidate John McAfee called the alleged evidence of

Russian involvement in the hacks into the Democratic National Committee (DNC) servers

�the most deceptive propaganda � perpetrated on the American public.�

Rather than proving the Russian government was, indeed, behind what he called a sloppy

hack, the evidence the U.S. government has presented simply shows the opposite.

According to the U.S. narrative, McAfee explained, hackers left traces of �Russian language

[which] was found in the malware, � a Cyrillic keyboard, � [and] the compiler, the piece

of software that compiles the code so that it can execute � [dating] time stamps � in

a time zone for the business hours of Moscow and St. Petersburg and other places in Russia

and � the IP address pointed to a Russian address.�

He explained the situation as if it had happened to America:

�Seriously, if Russia declared war on us because we hacked Russia and the head of the

CIA and the intelligence committee came to the Congress and they ask him �What happened?�

� �Oh, well you know we didn�t have time to remove English language, we didn�t

have time to move the date stamp, the guy could not use a Chinese keyboard, so we gave

him our regular keyboard.

And also there was my wife�s birthday so I could not remove the IP address.��

McAfee added that the person in question would �be scheduled for a suicide.�

Instead of �the Russians,� the cybersecurity legend added, the hacking and the narrative

that ensued is either �propaganda intended to incite the American people, to anger toward

Russia for some reason, or our intelligence community is so ignorant and na�ve that

they should all be replaced.� When asked who he thought was behind the hack,

he added: �This was done by an independent one person

kid that downloaded the software.

Please, this is not an organized hack and certainly not a nation-state that did this.�

Though some experts have not ruled out Russia as the perpetrator, there is some consensus

among cybersecurity professionals that the intelligence establishment�s evidence is

insufficient.

In VIPS� latest letter to the U.S. government demanding answers, the former members of the

intelligence community add that �everyone hacks,� questioning why is the outgoing

president invested in targeting Russia.

Reminding Obama of his own words concerning the �mounting evidence� pointing to Russia,

VIPS argues he must first pressure the National Security Agency (NSA) to �come clean,�

but won�t discard the possibility that current Director of National Intelligence James Clapper,

who lied under oath, is not more trustworthy than �the Russians.�

With Obama leaving office this week, he might not act on VIPS� concerns in time.

Other diamonds … we'll put a pin in that and return to that particular point.

But first let's wrap up the point of how, if in fact Pink Diamond is shattered into

shards of herself, just how that might have happened.

Returning to the mineral composition, It's impossible for a single Quartz of any type

to destroy a diamond – unless that quartz had access to hydrofluoric acid or set the

diamond on fire to burn at a high enough temperature, it ain't happening.

Although the diamond is at risk of shattering with just the right impact at just the right

point.

Now I did say it's impossible for a single quartz to destroy a diamond.

What if it were many quartz?

As we've seen in glimpses of the rebellion, like-gems can fuse with like-gems rather easily,

demonstrated by the rubies.

What if that room full of quartz gems we saw in the That Will Be All episode were all part

of the rebellion to take down the Diamond depicted in the hieroglyph?

What if that entire room full of quartz gems fused together to form one massive, giant

Rose Quartz to take on that Diamond?

One of the lyrics in the What's the use of feeling blue song are as follows:

Why would you want to employ her, Subjects that destroyed her?

Why would you want to employ her subjects that destroyed her.

This lyric reveals to us that Blue Diamond is possibly thinking about employing or assigning

duties to these quartz gems, possibly in homage to Pink Diamond.

But the second half of those lyrics also tells us that they all joined forces to supposedly

destroy Pink Diamond.

But how?

As we all know, the diamond gems are HUGE in height, towering over all other gems.

Rose Quartz is a gem of normal height.

But if we take a look at this mural, she's of comparable height to the diamond to which

she appears to be facing in battle.

And this particular statue of Rose Quartz isn't exactly true to scale to the Rose

we know.

It's a depiction of a massive Quartz gem, surrounded by normal sized quartz gems.

Based on what Yellow Diamond said in her song and these hieroglyphs and statue, we can safely

assume that the Rose Quartz gems combined to form a mega Quartz to oppose the diamond

during the rebellion.

Now, the reason I haven't specified which diamond was in fact shattered is because of

what we see here in the hieroglyphs compared to this statue we see of Pink Diamond's

likeness.

There are vast differences between the two, mainly the placement and shapes of their gems.

Here's my theory: Pink Diamond and Rose Quartz, upon coming to know the Earth civilization,

were both reluctant to carry out their initial plans of taking over our planet.

I'm theorizing this is actually White Diamond – White Diamond came to Earth possibly because

she caught wind of what was going on and decided to do what Pink Diamond was unable to do.

Pink Diamond and White Diamond fought for the fate of our civilization – as warriors

here to serve their creator Pink Diamond, the Rose Quartz gems combined to form a larger

version of themselves.

White Diamond was possibly too relentless in the fight, and Pink Diamond knowing the

only way to stop a diamond would be to destroy a diamond with a diamond – she casted off

her physical form leaving her diamond gem to be used as a weapon by the mega quartz

to destroy White Diamond.

Notice in the hieroglyphs this is in fact a pink triangular illustration possibly Pink

Diamond's diamond gem.

Here's where the M. Night Shamalan twist comes in – I'm theorizing, based on what

we know about how diamonds can be shattered if hit at the right point – the giant quartz

used Pink Diamond's gem to strike White Diamond … but she struck White Diamond's

gem improperly, or perhaps she miscalculated her striking technique … or perhaps those

little triangular shards played a factor.

But what ended up happening is Pink Diamond's gem ended up being the one to suffer from

the blow, causing Pink Diamond's gem to shatter upon impact.

Of course, the Rose Quartz didn't mean for this to happen.

It was all an accident.

So yes, the Rose Quartz did shatter Pink Diamond but not on purpose.

Possibly stricken with grief from the loss of their creator, the quartz gems deformed

with White Diamond capturing them all, with one sole quartz gem escaping – the Rose

Quartz we all know as Steven's mother.

Perhaps White Diamond had all the quartz she could find deformed and left them scattered

on Earth in their gem forms, as she went off to grieve in her own way.

It could explain why White Diamond is off somewhere missing, she couldn't possibly

face her sister Diamond gems to tell them the truth of the events that took place.

Pink Diamond was in fact her sister.

We have the ruby Eyeball to blame for relaying the message to homeworld of the events that

took place, completely misinterpreting what actually happened.

That it was an accident by the Rose Quartz.

Rose Quartz possibly returned to the sight of the events to find the other quartz and

bubbled what was left of them to memorialize them.

Visiting some time later to grieve the loss of her sister gem, Blue Diamond must have

come to Earth as she was known to do so and discovered the bubbled Rose Quartz gems and

decided to create a shrine to house the bubbled gems to remember Pink Diamond.

That's my theory and I'm sticking to it!

We'll have to wait and see if there's any true to any of it, based on what we know.

Soldier: 76 - Overwatch Hero Guide - Duration: 7:02.

Hello everyone, this is LFG. Welcome to the first episode of my Overwatch hero guides.

In this episode, we'll be taking a look at our first offense hero: Soldier: 76, the

former commander of Overwatch and current vigilante on the run.

Soldier: 76 possesses 200 health, no armor, and no shields for a grand total of 200 HP.

This is in line with most of the non-tank heroes in the game, and

thus grants him average survivability on the battlefield.

However, given his useful abilities and that his optimal placement

is at medium range within the relative safety of his teammates, he

can sustain critical pushes or survive enemy onslaughts

for much longer than one might expect.

76's weapon of choice is his Heavy Pulse Rifle.

Its main method of dealing damage is firing hitscan projectiles at enemies, which deal

20 damage up close and fall off to 7 at a distance.

Headshots will double all instances of damage;

even tanks will quickly fall to a barrage of well-aimed shots.

Weapon spread gradually increases under automatic fire, so

burst firing is recommended for all but close range engagements.

Magazine capacity is fair, at 25 rounds total;

reload time is also fair, at 1.5 seconds

All in all, Soldier's sustained damage output is quite good

across all ranges, but not as strong as other heroes up close or at a distance.

Alternatively, the pulse rifle can fire a volley of fast-moving helix rockets to deal explosive damage in a small area.

Directly striking an enemy with the rockets will deal 120 damage;

any other foe caught in the blast will be dealt only 80.

Catching yourself in your own helix rocket explosion will cost you 40 HP,

so be careful about using this ability in very close quarters.

Rocket jumping is also possible by simultaneously jumping and firing the rockets at your feet,

but its application is limited due to the short distance gained, the moderately long cooldown of 8 seconds,

and the HP cost.

The rockets function as quick burst damage,

so don't be afraid to fire them into a crowd or use them to finish off a key target.

Soldier: 76's first ability is his Sprint.

Its function is self-explanatory; it allows him to move forward much more quickly.

This is a simple, yet integral and effective part of Soldier's kit,

and part of the reason why he has higher-than-expected survivability and versatility.

Escaping or getting back into a firefight is made much easier with Sprint,

and because it has no cooldown, it is always available when needed.

Combining this ability with Lucio's speed boost will allow you to move at ludicrous speeds;

this combination is extremely effective at getting back to the fight at an even quicker rate.

Soldier's biotic field provides an area-of-effect heal to all allies within its radius.

This makes him unique in that he is the only non-Support hero with the ability to heal himself

as well as his teammates.

The healing itself is quite strong, if a bit short-lived and infrequent;

it heals 40 HP per second for 5 seconds, and has a 15 second cooldown.

Given its moderately strong healing potential, this ability can be used both offensively and defensively.

You can plant the biotic field to provide constant healing to yourself and your teammates to

either sustain a fight as it's progressing, or after a fight has ended in preparation for the next one.

Either way, it takes some of the burden off of your support heroes

and makes Soldier a valuable pick in certain single-healer team compositions.

Finally, 76's ultimate ability is Tactical Visor.

Essentially a temporary aimbot, Tactical Visor will grant you a special crosshair

that locks your aim onto the nearest target within your line of sight.

For the duration of this ultimate, your pulse rifle shots will be perfectly accurate

and will always hit the enemy in your crosshair.

Should an enemy escape your field of vision, the crosshair will automatically lock onto another target.

As such, this ability shines at eliminating evasive, low HP targets like Tracer or Lucio,

as the visor will lock on and follow their often erratic movements.

Your helix rockets will also be positively affected, but direct impacts are harder to land due to their travel time.

As some extra benefits, activation automatically refills your magazine,

and you reload faster for the ultimate's duration.

You'll find that Soldier: 76 works well in a variety of situations and game modes,

from Assault, to Control, to Escort.

In order to deal maximum damage, staying at medium range is advised.

This way, you'll have more time to appropriately react to incoming enemies and manage your ability cooldowns;

thus, you can pick your targets with less risk.

Be sure to take advantage of Sprint and change your position frequently, especially on Defense;

staying in one place for too long will open you up to potentially getting flanked or otherwise picked off by savvier opponents.

Use your biotic field wisely if you sense a one-on-one engagement approaching;

you can outheal many sources of damage this way and will have a greater chance of coming out victorious.

Avoid close quarters and tight chokepoints as best as possible,

and don't be afraid to sprint away toward the safety of your teammates

to survive an unfavorable skirmish that you would have otherwise lost.

Soldier: 76's greatest strengths are his versatility and ease of use.

He is very easy to pick up and play, especially for those coming from other first-person shooters,

and can be devastatingly effective at winning team fights with

his moderately high damage, good mobility, and his ability to heal.

However, his greatest weakness is, ironically, his versatility.

He will more than likely be outclassed by other heroes in most areas;

Genji and Tracer have better mobility,

Hanzo and Widowmaker deal more damage at range,

and Reaper and Bastion deal better burst damage.

This lack of burst damage is also a major weakness;

while Soldier's damage output is far from bad,

his burst damage up close is underwhelming.

Nevertheless, with good positioning and careful aim, 76 can tear through even the most stalwart of defenses.

So, if you're looking for a hero that can truly do it all, this soldier…

...is a Jack of all trades.

president and so this is what we think

in fact it wasn't even my intention to

print it out this large and waste this

much ink because my ink is really expensive

yes we're going to squash him because we're not

interested in in his behavior we're not

interested in his rich buddies behavior

we're not interested in the Old Men

behavior of what they've been doing they

have not been treating us very well

let's put it that way they've not been

Building a Wickiup Shelter (Day 3) - Duration: 9:21.

Hey guys thanks for tuning in

So, the plan for today is to get

back to the wickiup shelter and work on

the backside of the roof and make a fire

have some bannock, i'm trying a new recipe

bacon and cheese. I got a cool

idea for the roof so I'll show you guys.

Alright so i just got back to the

wickiup here's what's on the bed...

The hares are really liking this bed,

they've been eating all the boughs and

leaving some crap all over in the

shelter they like it. Going to have to

clean this all up, remove all the boughs

and I'll probably just leave the withes

these for now. So cattails are sweet

because they have long, long flat and narrow

leaves. If you layer some at about 60

degrees angle(or steeper), water will just fall in here and

then go down. You can kind of see

how this will be effective.The issue

the issue with cattails and just about

any natural materials here even like

spruce boughs and evergreen boughs is that

they're extremely flammable so a good

layer of logs, you want to throw a

really good layer of logs I'm gonna do

mostly the back of the shelter. it's

far away from the fire going to throw

them right back here and the logs will

protect from any flames or sparks so

here's why these are cool too, great

isolation. They contain

air pockets that's what keeps heat

inside so they got

they make for a good good mat. Again

it's flammable so you got to be careful

Not too cold today so it's a good

day t work on this about - 2 to -3C should warm

up to 0C so i think one more one piece

good

so once you've got a good bunch i tried

it on these two already,

i sharpened up a

branch and just put my bundle through

like that like a needle just above my

knot.

they'll hold in there real good,

Here's my bundle I got four i can do a few

of these and water should just flow down.

This dry grass really burns well. It's

dry had it in my pocket

can't wait to see how this bannock will

turn out. It's a new recipe I'm trying, well

it's the same basic recipe as my previous

video but i added bacon and cheddar

cheese so you can see here the bush

bed makes for a perfect pot hanger

so i just discovered something pretty

cool with these wider / bigger cattails I

don't even have to tie them I can just,

little bit higher so they don't split at

the top like and put them in like this

and I'm gaining like a ton of time they

hold enough like I don't need to these

be like super solid. They'll just

be there and then I'll just basically

put a log over it to hold everything

together and that will be the end of it.

No problem. Not cooked yet but look at this

cheese man yeah buddy almost done, just

tasting this right now

Bannock's on fire, man that's good.

Look at this thing it's pretty badass looking.

okay that's about five feet high

what's cool to about cattails is that

right now it's winter so they're all

dried up and they're seeds are

already all done and even by cutting

them i just take the the dead part of it

and the rhizomes still there, they'll regrow

no problem next year and they're not a

rare plant or anything out here they're

extremely abundant so just a good

overall material to know,my favorite

plant in the boreal forest.

These logs will help hold everything in place

so this is what the shelter looks like now with

the cattails and all the logs. Ideally

i'd put more cattails but that will be for

another time. From inside you can't

really see much light anymore from here

to there.

that means that's well covered next

step will be more that side

this will be pretty much the last video

for the wickiup shelter building. When I come

back out here i'll be adding more wood

more cattails and hanging around but

the whole building phase is all done so

got a bed I got a roof got walls and

stuff so...

A wax statue of President Trump unveiled in Times Square Friday proved just as polarizing as the real deal being inaugurated in Washington, D.C.

Madame Tussauds' replica was unceremoniously wheeled off a truck and put on display outside the museum's Times Square location about an hour before the 45th president took his oath of office.

The new sculpture is one of four matching figures created by the London-based chain to mark the start of Trump's White House residency.

Based on exact measurements of Trump taken at a 1997 sitting, it uses yak hair for Trump's famous blond pompadour and squirrel hair for his bushy eyebrows.

"We try to use human hair whenever possible, but to exactly match the color and texture (for Trump), we had to use other material — to create as accurate a replica as we possibly could," Eric Fluet, the New York museum's head of marketing, told the Daily News.

Fluet said starting this weekend, the Trump statue will be placed inside the museum next to a podium in a replica set of a press briefing room.

Asked if the placement was a comment on President Trump's notoriously combative relationship with the media, Fluet claimed it wasn't.

"We thought it would look great there," he said.

Russians drink champagne to celebrate President Trump's inauguration - Duration: 3:52.

MOSCOW — Champagne corks popped Friday in Moscow as Russians celebrated the start of Donald Trump's presidency, confident of better relations ahead between the two countries.

"It's weird, but it's great, and for the first time ever Russians are applauding the victory of a U.S. presidential candidate," political analyst Stanislav Byshok said.

Trump's promises to fix ravaged relations with Moscow have elated Russia's political elite following spiraling tensions with Washington over the Ukrainian crisis, the war in Syria and allegations of Russian meddling in the U.S. election.

"We are ready to do our share of the work in order to improve the relationship," Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said on Facebook.

About 100 Trump sympathizers, nationalists and spin doctors gathered at a trendy loft just a few hundred meters away from the Kremlin to celebrate Friday, with a triptych of Trump, Russian President Vladimir Putin and French nationalist politician Marine Le Pen in the center of the hall.

An hour before Trump took the stage in Washington, the sound of opening champagne bottles echoed in the vaulted hall. The party was co-sponsored by the conservative Tsargrad TV channel, which is led by ultra-right ideologue Alexander Dugin.

"Yes, it's a holiday," said a beaming Dmitry Rode, a communications executive with a glass of champagne in his hand. "We all hope that relations between our countries and more importantly between our peoples will help to develop our economies. We're neighbors, we're just 30 miles away from each other."

Some party-goers wore Guy Fawkes masks, associated with hackers, in a sly reference to charges that Russia interfered in the U.S. election.

"I'm happy for all Russian hackers," said 27-year-old IT professional Filip Nikolsky, who wore a sweatshirt with the "You've Been Hacked" slogan.

He said he doesn't know if the hacking allegations are true but "if it's true, why shouldn't we be happy?"

Still, the mood at the party in downtown Moscow was subdued compared to outbursts of joy at the news of Trump's victory in November.

Revelers on Friday watched Trump make his inauguration speech in silence, and no one stood up for the American anthem, although the host suggested that all Americans should do so.

At another Moscow nightclub, several dozen people began toasting Trump late Thursday.

Willi Tokarev, 82, a singer who emigrated to the U.S. in the mid-1970s and later became a music legend in Russia, topped the entertainment bill with his song "Trumplissimo America!"

Trump's praise for Putin has raised expectations that he could move to normalize ties, although Trump hasn't articulated a clear policy and some of his Cabinet nominees have made hawkish statements on Russia.

Leonid Slutsky, the head of the foreign affairs committee in the lower house of parliament, expressed hope that Trump will move to establish constructive ties with Moscow, but cautioned there is no "magic button" to instantly achieve that.

"We expect a slow but steady revival of our relations," he said.

Dmitri Trenin, director of the Carnegie Moscow Center, predicted that Moscow will face a pragmatic but very tough partner in Trump.

"Russia's potential is incomparable to that of the United States," he said, adding that Moscow will have to apply a lot of skills "to play from the position of weakness and not lose."

Speaking at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov voiced hope that Trump will work with Putin on solving the Ukrainian crisis and other problems, but warned against expectations of quick progress.

"Difficulties will remain," he said.

Louisiana officer shot and killed while helping woman who crashed her car fleeing gunman - Duration: 1:30.

An off-duty officer was gunned down while trying to help a woman who who crashed her car, who was also shot and killed.

Westwego officer Michael Louviere was coming home from a night shift and still in uniform when he killed Friday morning outside New Orleans.

Police had received a call about a domestic incident shortly beforehand, and believe that the gunman that shot Louviere next to the car crash also shot and killed 32-year-old driver Simone Veal, with whom he had been romantically involved.

Police said that the suspect in the case is Sylvester Holt, a 32-year-old released from jail earlier this month when it was decided not to prosecute him for rape.

Jefferson Parish police say that Holt shot at Veal before chasing her down his car and then shooting both her and Louviere after she crashed into a truck.

Authorities said that the suspect later perched on the outside of a bridge over the Mississippi River since early Friday afternoon, threatening to jump during a long standoff with officers.

Sylvester Holt is a suspect in the case.

He shot himself in the chest and paramedics were applying aid as of 6 p.m. local time, Louisiana State Police told The Advocate.

Louviere was a 26-year-old Marine veteran who served in Afghanistan before returning the U.S. and joining the Westwego department in 2015, according to Police Chief Dwayne Munch.

Munch said that his officer leaves behind a wife, a 4-year-old daughter and a 1-year-old son.

Henrik Lundqvist calls Rangers' win over Maple Leafs 'something to build off' - Duration: 2:43.

Now Henrik Lundqvist has the opportunity to completely turn the page, to leave one of his lowest stretches well behind him and truly return to normalcy after his important step forward Thursday night in Toronto.

"It's just one game, but it's something to build off," Lundqvist said after making 23 saves in the Rangers' 5-2 win. "You take it one by one, that's all you can do. It hasn't been fun the last few days, I'm not gonna lie, but I worked really hard in practice and I tried to gain confidence from there."

Lundqvist and the Rangers needed Thursday's result badly after what had transpired over the last week, 16 pucks getting by Lundqvist in three games, including seven in two periods on Tuesday against Dallas. It came on the road — the Rangers lead the NHL with 16 road victories — against a young, talented Maple Leafs squad competing for a playoff spot ahead of schedule.

It stopped the bleeding, but it can't end there, because what will Thursday mean if during Sunday afternoon's nationally televised game in Detroit there's another setback for Lundqvist and the Rangers' defensive structure?

"We have a lot of confidence in Hank," Alain Vigneault said. "We knew it was just a matter of time, and now he's gotta follow it up with another big game against Detroit."

The Rangers were off Friday ahead of a scheduled Saturday practice before traveling for Sunday's game against the Red Wings. That begins a stretch of three games in four nights, continuing with home matches Monday against the Kings and Wednesday against the Flyers, before the Blueshirts head into the All-Star break.

From Lundqvist on out the Rangers put together a quality performance on Thursday, and with all of their big guns back up front, the high-powered Rangers' offense has been in full swing. The club is averaging 4.4 goals per game over its last 10 contests, and five per game over the last three.

Rick Nash (four points) and Pavel Buchnevich (six points) have been productive in four games since coming back from injuries, and Mika Zibanejad has excelled in two games since his return, including scoring twice in his first game back on Tuesday.

The Chris Kreider-Derek Stepan-Mats Zuccarello trio has been a consistent combination over the last six weeks, and Michael Grabner, Kevin Hayes and J.T. Miller are finding chemistry again.

Since being dropped to the fourth line for one game against Ottawa on Dec. 27, Miller has 11 points (six goals, five assists) in nine games.

"I think we really challenged ourselves to come out and be better," Miller said after Thursday's win.

The offense can help take some pressure off Lundqvist, who is seeking to be on the ascent.

"I think every athlete and hockey player obviously goes through stretches where it's just a lot harder to get it done, especially at this level," Lundqvist said. "All it takes is you lose five, six percent and that's the difference between being OK and being great."
