Youtube daily report Aug 13 2018

The quality of office space is of immense significance for building up one's own business.

Richard Branson once said

that from the perspective of a person managing a company clients do not come first, but employees

if they receive proper care, they will take care of the company's clients.

This philosophy enabled Branson to create one of the largest companies in the world.

In my opinion, the ability to integrate all generations which work in a given company

and adjust the workspace to each employee is a key aspect.

It is a considerable challenge,

especially because those generations begin to intermingle with each other to the greater extent.

Office space serves a crucial function not only due to the fact that we tend to occupy it at least 8 hours a day

not to mention the founders of their own companies or start-ups who devote 12-15 hours to work.

Just as information announced in radio should be non-invasive

(it means that I can perform other tasks and at the same time listen to it and understand it),

the same applies to the space in an office or any place in the company which should not hinder but help me in building up my business.

The reconciliation of the needs of various generations present in the same workspace is also extremely challenging.

The representatives of the X, Y and Z generations are used to different work conditions,

therefore the management is of fundamental importance here.

Although companies experience rapid technological progress, the same does not apply to, generally speaking, HR development.

HR departments and managers face a particularly difficult task

of learning how to manage such diversified environment.

Today's young generations – 'millennials' – would like to have a 'cool' boss,

who would understand them, listen to them, give feedback

and who would be simply a human and not somebody oriented only towards the fulfilment of sales plans.

# 19. Good Morning Nepal! We have internet throughout the school! - Duration: 6:20.

They´re finally here the guys from the internet.

They are going to try the covarage of the "rocket". That thing there

which will have a coverage of 360º and a maximum capacity of 100 users

The only thing is that we do not know very well if it will be able to cover all the school

Tha´s what they going to test now

Later that thing will be set in an area where the kids can´t reach it

Now we are going to go to the two ends. To that class there and to that on the opposite side

He is asking if the door is normally closed o no

¿Cuál es? es esta

Si va más allá de 80 o 75, entonces es malo. 65-70 es ok

Now we are going to test the higher floors. So we are going to put this thing higher, which is where it will eventually go

It seems we have reached an agreement

I have been barganing with them, and I´ve managed to get a very interesting discount

And after the Principal, who is a crack, kept putting pressure and we managed a further discount

What we are going to do is to test it for 2 days.

I´ve told them that I want it asap and that they come back in 2 days

We are going to put it there, just in the center, where that kid is, so it has the maximum possible coverage

And the "amplifier" would go in the 4th floor

But even if we need it in that side, where the classrooms are.

It will go in that side, because what it does is amplify it 90º, so it could cover all that side with good coverage

When we have the computers, when we manage to get them, for the computer room

we will then see if it will be enought with the wifi contract we have at the moment

or if we might need to get the connection via a cable connector,... we´ll see

I´m connecting my computer to check it out

Perfect!

2 DAYS LATER

They are here to install internet!

Principal, estoy diciendo que por fin han venido a instalar internet. Así que estamos felices por eso!

Yeah!

We are going first to the 4th floor to install this cable.

It is a cable prepared for corrosion, humidity and so on.

From upstairs we will throw it down here, to the center

CAT6... not sure what is means... and it is copper

100 meters

He said to put it here so it gives 90º to all these part here

There is where we are eventually going to put the amplifier

The nanostation is already connected, which is the one up there

We are testing how the "nano" works, which will be for the 4th floor coverage. Here it will be the computer room

It seems the quality of the reception is good

What I do not like that much is that both the nano and this one, the rocket

the devices are not new.

They say, they have been just used as test, but not used any other place,

they look like that because they´re outdoors, that they are only 2 months old,....

But.. come on! this is older than 2 months. I told this to the Principal

I propose it has to be new. If you spend quite a lot of money, the minimun is that it is new

But well. I do not want to interfere much on the way they do things here. If for the Principal is ok, then perfect.

We did it!!!!

Thank you very much to those of you who have already helped out

Now we have internet in all the school, in all the floors

ya llega a la planta cuarta, where it is the room of the "future" computers

It is also in the main area and it reaches all the classes down there

And well, it has been around 400€

And this has been really bargained

because we have saved at least +100€ , which was the initial offer

So, cool! THANK YOU!

This is the story of how Cat Carney became a goddess.

Indonesian Tales Chapter One

Inspired by the natural powers of the Indonesian goddess Dewi Sri

Cat Carney realised that she wasn't only beautiful on the outside

She discovered that she had an instinctive talent for expressing herself

and bringing life to the beauty around her.

Being seen from the soul, not just through the eyes.

Look for your inner beauty.

You'll know yourself better.

Come and hear the tale of how Shanelle Nyasiase became a goddess.

Indoneasian Tales, Chapter Two

Inspired by the cosmic powers of the Indonesian Goddess Dewi Ratih

Shanelle realised that by focusing on her inner strength

she could inspire the eclipses to be bright

and the stars to come alive.

That what she is to her world is what the moon is to the sea, powerful

Focus on your inner strength you'll change the world.

Do you know how Ena Chenaijia became a goddess?

Nice view uh-huh. I used to come here a lot before

Before what?

Hmm, you said I used to come here a lot before?

Before what?

for

Before nothing

Can I ask you a personal question lieutenant

Do all androids ask so many personal questions or is it just you

I saw a photo of a child on your kitchen table. It was your son, right?

Yeah, his name was Cole

We're not making any progress on this investigation

The deviants have nothing in common

They're all different models produced at different times in different places. Well, there must be some link

What they have in common is this obsession with ra9

It's almost like some kind of myth

Something they invented it wasn't part of their original program androids believing in God

Fuck what's this world coming to?

You seem preoccupied lieutenant

Is it something to do with what happened back at the Eden Club?

Those two girls

They just wanted to be together

They really seemed in love

They can simulate human emotions, but they're machines and

Machines, don't feel anything

What about you Connor?

You look human sound human of what are you really

I'm whatever you want me to be lieutenant

your partner

your buddy to drink with

Or just a machine

designed to accomplish a task

You could have shot those two girls, but you didn't

Why ain't you suit Connor?

Some scruple suddenly enter into your program

No, I just decided not to shoot that's all

But are you afraid to die Conner

I would certainly find it regrettable to be

Interrupted before I can finish this investigation

What'll happen if I pull this trigger?

Hmm nothing oblivion

Android heaven

Nothing there would be nothing

Where are you going get drunker? I need to think

Your eyes, even your smallest gestures

I want to hold even your memories

How Bipolar Disorder Affects Family and Friends | HealthyPlace - Duration: 2:04.

Hey guys, it's Hannah.

The effects bipolar disorder has on those around us.

It's really important we acknowledge other people

and the challenges that they face

dealing with our mental illness

and what, exactly, those challenges are.

I know in my life, living with bipolar two disorder,

some of the challenges that my family and friends face

have to do with me not communicating,

being distant, withdrawing from them.

I think it's hard to see someone that you love

in pain and not understanding why.

Because it's so hard to communicate about mental illness,

about bipolar disorder.

It makes us frustrated

and it makes them frustrated as well.

It's been so important

for me to ask those around me

to share their story with me

about what they went through

when I was going through really bad periods

with my bipolar disorder and my breakdowns.

Acknowledge their pain, as well as ours.

And also realizing

that just because they don't understand,

it doesn't mean they're bad;

just as long as they support us.

When I started my blog

and getting my family and friends involved,

it really opened their minds up.

And I think that's important

that we try to get our family involved.

And that starts with us.

It's never an easy topic to talk about

but by getting involved

in allowing others to share their story

about how our bipolar disorder affects them

is a place to start.

And I want to hear your experience as well.

So please share that with me below.

Subscribe to my Youtube channel.

And I will see you next week.

Bye.

BIKERGIRL OFF-ROAD in the NETHERLANDS | Honda africa twin - Duration: 5:01.

Goodmorning!

Today I'm gonna do something fun!

The last time I had Nomi with me

But now the car seat is empty..

Organized by Honda motorcycles and PROMOTOR

I'm going to ride the Dutch Dakar rally

The Dakar in the Polder

Because I didn't officially signed Nomi up with the qualification

I think that is the reason she isn't selected today

But I did got selected so I am about to ride

about 100 kilometers off-road

I'm on my way to Hoogeveen

To mister Jan Kremer

And he will be our instructor

And I'l be riding a fancy Africa Twin

We'll see. I take you with me!

Hope you'll enjoy this video..

I wish myself a lot of joy this day because I'm excited!

It's okay

As long as we just ride its okay

That one is more lowered. That one is lower!

I can almost touch the ground

Hello everybody, I'm on the Africa Twin

We are on our way to Ommen

That is the starting location and we'll meet the camera crew

Promotor

Dimphy is riding in front of me

and Jan is leading us

And What the... I'm already is 5th gear

I'm riding 50 km/h.. probably eco

I'm searching for the clutch lever because I always lay my finger on it

You could set the bike in Sports mode

And we are on cross tires

and also low in bar pressure

in the tires

I'm on a Africa Twin!

LET'S GO

We got the camera crew

We got Bart, presenter for PROMOTOR

And we'll go to the first location

This is the beginning

I love the dust

You are professional at using duct tape

Bart: It is a profession to work with duct tape, its called gaff

Anne: Oh, really. Working with tape professionally

Anne: Gaffer?

Bart: Gaff(er) is a productional... I mean

Bart: A professional person working with duct tape

Bart: Stop killing Ducks to make tape!

I'm living my dream!

Usely when I go to the woods going for a walk or mountain biking

I always think about braaaaaping trough the forest

To everybody who is watching...

A Desert in Freeport, Maine, LL Bean, & Garmin Fail - Duration: 11:54.

you buckled up you're not buckled no you're not quite buckle dude all right

click click

and good morning everybody Jax and I are starting our day off on the road here

in Freeport Maine mm-hmm we're very close to the ocean the cool air feels

fantastic and blue skies and sunshine in the forecast but right now we are parked

well here I'll show you first of all I missed the turn coming in here

I missed the driveway in here which is only funny because of the destination

where I'm at I am actually at the Garmin headquarters here in Freeport Maine and

check out this green inside here that got the world's largest rotating globe

well women well besides the actual globe that I'm standing on I guess let's go

inside and check it out I see Guinness Book World Record for a revolving globe

called Earth ax as a circumference of 129 feet but it's broken today that's

right it is not moving today because it has a mechanical issue that they are

working on but I did let them know that I was disappointed that it is not moving

right now they're calling a tech so let's see how long it takes but see the

mechanics down there those are the gears and it would usually spend this globe

out for us to see but not today it does not spin at the

same rate as the earth but most people get to see it spinning like everything

else lately we get something very random and unusual the broken globe per Garmin

well it's Monday my brains all messed up too so like I guess Garmin gets a pass

today oh this is um route 1 guys here on the east coast of Maine not to be

confused with highway 1 or 101 back home which I love that follows the coast all

the way from Washington to California but no this is a Maine's version of it

and I could certainly just take this all the way up through Maine I don't know I

don't really have any summer plans like I said I'm gonna go where RVs are wanted

essentially so we'll just see and cellphone coverage I got to be able to

get to it to upload videos too so it's up in the air you guys have any

suggestions like I said at least probably till the end of August I am

thinking I'm gonna be in Maine just exploring we shall see so also here in

Freeport is the well I guess what the locals call she told me it's called the

big f Indian I don't know what the f stands for Freeport or the big effing

Indian I don't know for sure but that's a big one there it also looks like got a

paint job recently as those colors are pretty fresh and poppy on him looks good

with that blue sky behind him I'm gonna check this place out you know besides

the KOA and well Renee and Monique's RV I don't think I've seen a single RV on

the road in Maine anywhere no overnight parking no RV parking I'm parked way

back there and I'm walking to LL Bean right now it's funny because clearly

Maine knows about RVs it's just that it looks like the city of Freeport may be a

lot like Portland would just don't even stop here just don't even stop here just

bypass this city no I'm gonna do it we're in check this out this is

interesting this is cold Woodland Village here outside of LL Bean and they

have a few quirky wooden structures it's cool it's a very big lot here I think

it's all yeah this is all LL Bean everything around me so here's the home

it's a big store over there over here we've got the bike boat and ski building

so the home store is just that stuff for inside your home

get the fishing and hunting place over there

big huge boot right there and they got the the store here so we'll go check out

the store they have a riverbed aquarium fish what's this

all the kids fingerprinted that I know

I'll give them credit they have decorated the store nicely reminds me of

shields or Bass Pro or Cabela's or something like that it's cool it's

themed they've even got a little fireplace here can you imagine in the

winter you know and out front they've got six feet of snow and stuff and

there's a pond right here in the store to fish in there there's something I

found the camping section tents sleeping bags cookware cast-iron cooking yeah the

final charge state of Maine flocked moose yeah they're cuddling I could be

bad and spend a lot of money here today I'm gonna I'm gonna get out of here

quick though by the way guys it's taking a little bit

but I have now officially put on over a hundred miles on Yoda and those rear

brakes are still holding up they're not warped not giving me any problems no

vibrations still good we've made it past the 48 hour and whatever 100 mile at

least I can say with confidence I think the brakes are really fixed this time

okay this is interesting I don't even know if you may know Knights know about

this is that a thing of Maina Knight am a knight you maintenance maintenance

we're gonna go with maintenance did you main ins know that there is a

desert of Maine that's right Maine's most famous natural phenomena

okay and then it says you'll find the only desert east of the Mississippi the

giant sand dunes original 1783 barn and some other stuff that's right the only

does are east of the Mississippi well let's go check it out here in Maine

maybe this place is a little more popular than I realized

desert of Maine this way it's 1252 get in to go walk to the desert I don't know

if that's really worth it but I mean I'm already here so I'm gonna take you guys

along we're gonna go look at the day I was anticipating that it would be cool

so I already got my magnet it says desert of Maine on it and it has sand in

the shoe from the actual desert here so oh it's so hot here in the desert of

Maine no it's really not we're gonna struggle they hit 80 degrees

here in the desert but say hello to my camel friends here and welcome to the

desert of Maine okay it looks awfully desert II there is usually a tram that

is out of service today or booked or something like that not anyway not

available for me to take the tram but a one and a half mile loop around the

desert is what we're looking at okay here we go it doesn't appear to be very

busy guys it's windy it does look like desert dunes I'll say that okay we're

here at our first attraction the Buried spring house buried beneath this dune is

a spring house built in 1938 but completely covered in 1962 oh okay as

you can see today's temperature here in the desert of Maine is about 80 degrees

trying to get into the right mindset here okay so put yourself in the shoes

of an East Coaster an Easterner over here this is amazing this is beautiful

or you could just go out west to Arizona and New Mexico or Southern California

and this gets old real quick but okay it's a tourist attraction here in Maine

okay well let's at least point out the plantlife

lots and lots of pine trees not pine trees that I'm used to make sure you

this but pine trees and pine cones yeah here's a sign talking about the

panoramic view spreading sand to the west and north separated by this section

of trees

okay yeah there were three school buses a kids I think that's why there's no

tours today because they hog them but there's the desert out there and clay

mounds layers of clay were probably produced by the action of water either

from the melting glacier ice or as some geologists believe sediment

accumulations at the bottom of the lake I don't have any other information and

just this this is just a map so I'm just reading these I don't really know what

we're looking at so this is a reclaimed area of moss beds here can you see him

mm-hmm

essentially it just looks like a darker area of the desert down here and it's

fuzzy I mean that's prettier than the desert I like that so I don't know feel

like I've been walking a mile it just it's not desert II anymore we're like in

this really pretty woodsy area but there's nothing else no signs no plaques

no stops or anything it's just a pretty trail weird don't get me wrong it's a

great day to be outside it's a beautiful day here in Maine but I just don't know

if I would say you guys got to come to the desert of Maine

maybe you should just enjoy it from your computer screen or phone screen because

well I guess it is technically cheaper to come here than it would be to get on

a plane and go to Arizona but 12:52 hmm I don't see it sorry guys and I'm just

being honest with you guys I'd like you know I'm not gonna promote something or

say you gotta go check this out if it's not see and then I feel like we're in

Jurassic Park where eventually we will see dinosaurs on this because they got

these signs oasis water not drinkable that's great it's just it's just another

sign out here that doesn't tell me anything okay maybe there was an oasis

here I don't know buried trees the trees around you are growing on the same level

as the building behind you as you can see it they are buried to a considerable

depth so yeah in the nicest way possible you guys don't need to come out and see

this one probably unless you're just you've never seen a desert and you

really want to see the desert here yeah my spend the name the rest of the day

with Jax make some lunch yeah so this is what happens if I don't

fold my freshly washed laundry right away it becomes a cat bed look at the

fur on that oh well Jax gets what he wants I learned my lesson I'm gonna fold

some clothes guys have a good day Jax now see you in a few

DIY GIANT FLUFFY SLIME - Duration: 3:59.

Hi friends, this is Anna Chi with you and today we gonna be making a giant slime.

For this, I bought as many as 13 cans of shaving cream and twenty-three bottles of PVA clear glue.

I want the slime to be really huge. So, let's first make a thickener for the slime. We'll pour three small spoons of Borax or sodium tetra borate and pour 1 liter of hot water.

Then mix it nicely so that the Borax is completely dissolved.

And now let's fill this container with shaving cream. I don't exactly remember its volume but in my opinion it's more than 20 liters.

We have already emptied all the shaving cream bottles now we need to squeeze out all the glue.

I want the slime to be in bright green color, so we gradually add the food coloring and mix it very carefully and keep mixing it until the color becomes uniform and the shaving cream begins to thicken.

I see that the shaving cream has become denser and this means that we need to add a thickener. We'll gradually pour the borax solution from various sides and form the slime.

By the way it's not necessary to use particularly borax, you can also use washing gel or contact lens solution, but I like to make slime with borax because it is cheaper and more qualitative.

When you see it's no longer possible to mix the slime this way, you need to start kneading it very well until it stops sticking to the hands.

The Slime absolutely doesn't stick to the hands anymore so we can take it out.

Remove the container from the table and lay the slime.

See how huge our slime turned out.

Well besides the fact that it is huge, it's even very fluffy and beautiful.

I have made so many different slimes and each time I felt it turned out better than the other ones.

But this slime surpassed absolutely all of those that I made before.

I know that I spent a lot of money on this slime, but I'm glad that it turned out really cool and maybe I won't leave it just to lie in a container, probably I'll make for example a huge anti-stress from it.

Friends, if you liked this slime video then don't forget to hit the thumbs up and subscribe to the channel so that you don't miss the next videos.

That's all today! Thanks for watching, till next time, bye!

ARRIVING AT INCHEON INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT || Summer in Korea Vlog 1 - Duration: 4:26.

hi peeps so you're traveling to Seoul for the first time and you will arrive at

Incheon International Airport I'm gonna try and make arrival easier for you with

this short video stay tuned while still on the plane you will receive these two

forms that have to be filled out before you can go through immigration after I'm

done I usually just put these in my passport so I got everything in one

place and wouldn't have to look for them in my back I always see people standing

in line at immigration panicking trying to fill these out quickly although there's so

much time on the plane to fill them out so just do that I arrived at Terminal 2 this

time apart from terminal 1 & 2 there's also a concourse terminal where I

arrived before and I had to take a shuttle underground train to the main

terminal before getting to baggage claim and all that there's no way you could

get lost though because everyone will hurry to go there and be the first on

the shuttle and there's really no other way to go so don't worry when you get

off the plane follow the signs that say baggage claim the first thing you'll

pass is the quarantine corner they have thermal cameras there to determine if

passengers have a high body temperature this time I was actually stopped and the

lady there took my temperature apparently I had a fever nothing else

happened though so after she informed me of my temperature and advised me to take

some precautions I could go on after that you get to immigration you just

need the smaller one of the two forms you filled out on the plane here they

will take your fingerprints and you're good to go

in most countries you get a stamp or sticker in your passport at immigrations

but in South Korea you get a small piece of paper with all information on it do

not lose this paper you need it when you leave Korea right when you get out from

immigrations you can see where to go to get your luggage if yours is the

only flight that got in at this time which you'll know by not having to wait

at immigrations for minimum half an hour just go to the carousel where all

the other passengers are waiting I usually have to wait for quite a while

until I finally spot my luggage after you successfully obtained your luggage

just have the other of the two forms ready to hand in saying if you have

anything to declare or not they might also ask to x-ray your luggage which

they did with mine I guess I got the whole program this time and then you can

access and you have finally arrived at Incheon International Airport there's a

few stands here of different providers where you can buy SIM cards or rent a

portable Wi-Fi I reserved a sim card on Trazy.com and then picked it up here

you also have a few coffee shops restaurants and convenience stores I

bought a T money card at the 7-eleven because I forgot to bring mine you can

charge these and then use them for public transport so you don't have to

buy tickets all the time and you can also use them to pay at convenience stores

vending machines and everywhere you see the t-money logo if you want to get to

Seoul the easiest way is probably by Arex I took a bus once before and it

took forever go downstairs to level b1 and then follow the sign that says airport

railroad

there's an express train and the all-stop-train the Express is about 15

minutes faster but it's a little more than double the price so the choice is

really yours the Express guarantees you a seat but honestly after sitting on the

plane for so long I don't really have to sit so I always took the All-stop-train

be careful of the arrival time when you book your flight because the last

train leaves at 11:39 p.m. if you didn't buy a t-money card at the

convenience store you have a few options at this vending machine right next to

the gates to the trains if you bought a t-money card here's how you can

recharge it it's really simple alternatively you can also give money to

the cashier at the convenience store when you buy your card and they can

recharge it for you depending on which train option you decided for take the

gate to the Express or the all-stop-train tap your t-money card to pass the gate and

have a good trip I hope this video was helpful for you thank you so much for

watching and I hope to see in the next one give me a thumbs up and subscribe if

you enjoyed the video and safe travels

Innowacje będą kształtować nowe modele współpracy – Michał Krauze | Human Centered Places - Duration: 2:59.

Innovations have accompanied humankind since time immemorial.

From the very beginning, we are the most creative,

we produce tools and objects which we use in a more and more intelligent manner.

People may boast numerous ground-breaking discoveries.

Some of them, such as double-entry book‑keeping or maps,

seem less innovative

but they constitute a major breakthrough for us in respect of travelling and discovering new territories.

The most important invention of the recent times is the internet,

getting closer, reducing the distance.

Our history proves that we have been incessantly discovering new things.

As regards innovations which at the moment are the most popular, two areas may be distinguished.

The first one pertains to technology and the recent buzzword – 'internet of things'.

The communication with devices, new technologies

and immense amount of data which we collect open up possibilities we did not know exist.

On the other hand, it is a great challenge in terms of psychology.

We should consider how people should work with each other,

how the new models should look like.

In Chinese language there is this concept of "Shanzhai".

In the past, it signified a copy, something fake.

Now it stands for a new model of cooperation through which a large number of small companies, people

as opposed to large companies – begin to develop not only programmes but also devices.

We do not know what the next innovation will be but, personally,

I think that it will concern not only the sheer technological area but interpersonal relations.

What is interesting in the field of inventions

is that not only we produce solutions which are intended to satisfy our immediate needs.

It is them that later create certain possibilities and challenges which we did not realise before.

It involves a certain synergy, a kind of feedback,

as the more new things we come up with, the more new areas and technologies will be created.

Maybe soon we will not want to go to space but conquer the depths of the oceans?

For now, our imagination is the limit.

Poetry Book Tag/Review/Discussion with Sam | Part One - Duration: 15:24.

Siwe: hi everyone. It's also like very weird saying hi because you're one of the most faithful subscribers that I've ever had.

Sam: So this is like self...this is self-actualization. This is what Maslow was talking about. This is the dream.

Siwe: You are?

Sam: Samkele Myeni. Siwe: People call you Sam though

Sam: Yes, they do. Siwe: Only your bae calls you by your... Both: full name

Siwe: Today we'll be talking mostly about poetry but like I don't

want to restrict you to that as well I think like when I was sending you the

questions so like hmm she has a passion to talk about a certain book that she

doesn't like and I think yeah again okay. Firstly we're going to have like a book

tag so kind of like questions about your book...not book ooo book. Sam: I receive. I catch it. Siwe: A book review on

Questions for Ada as well as Collective Amnesia by Koleka Putuma and then

Questions for Ada is by Ijeoma Umebinyuo. Sam: I also don't know how to say her name. Siwe: and yeah we'll just discuss books I guess

and we'll discuss them. Okay book tag your favorite poet who's your favourite poet?

Sam: I actually wrote these things down okay it's a tie between two people my

favorite new to me poet is Safia. Siwe: yeah Sam: Safia Elhillo, she's amazing

Siwe: yeah. Sam: but I think my favorite poet that I discovered like further back is Stacyann

Chin. Siwe: yeah yes yes yes Sam: Stacy. Stacy. Stacy. Siwe: and poem? Sam: my

favorite poem. Also wrote this down. This is so hard.

it's the rabbit catcher and the weird thing is it's not the style of poetry

I've been reading lately. Siwe: yeah. Sam: It's the rabbit catcher by why am I

forgetting this woman's name? okay. Siwe: okay, we'll find out the name and we'll put it somewhere here

Sam: It's about her really hectic relationship with her husband. He actually wrote a response poem about the same thing

Siwe: oh, okay. Sam: I know, white people gowishing. Siwe: It actually reminds me of...what's this. Lost in Translation and then... Sam: Her

Siwe: Sofia's Coppola's thingy responded with Her. And favourite

poetry book slash books as well. Sam: my favorite book...my favorite book is called Comfort Herself

Siwe: Is it one of those self-help books? It sounds like it. Okay. Sam: no. no. no. Siwe: I was gonna judge you. Sam: no

the character's name is Comfort. Siwe: oh okay. Sam: and it's about grief. Um, her mother passes away and it's also about

changing like a drastic life change cos her mother's English and the

father is Congolese and she lives in England and she moves to Congo because

her mom's passed away and... Siwe: So her father wasn't in England? Sam: Yes, her parents were separated

and and it was just so different because I read it as like a

child and it was so different from anything I'd read before you know you

read those like startup books and the cat sat on the mat type things. Siwe: yeah. Sam: and then I was like wow this is

a full-blown story and I remember I think I cried and it was the first time I felt something because of a book. Siwe: wait have you read it

like since then? Sam: no. Siwe: do you wanna read it? Sam: absolutely I need to find it it's by

Geraldine Kaye it's an old book so finding it would be a mission but I need

to find it because my aunt gave it to me and since then she's had a child and

when she gave me the book she told me to keep it so that I can give it to her

child so and it wasn't even my fault that I don't have the book anymore so I'm sorry but I will look for it.

Siwe: And least favorite book ah say it! Say it with your chest. Sam: Listen, things need to be qualified before people start hating me, you know. My least favorite book

that I've read lately is Period Pain. Siwe: by Kopano Matlwa. Sam: Yeah. Siwe: Why do you hate it

or why is it your least favorite book lets say? Sam: I can't believe I'm telling a

published person. A respected person this but the book felt lazy. It felt it

read lazily it felt like she was given a month and like paid leave.

Siwe: to write it. Sam: She was given a month and paid leave. Maybe two months and they were

like tackle every issue that you could possibly think of. Siwe: Xenophobia, period pains, rape, pregnancy, suicide. Sam: Oh yes. I was like everything. Everything just go for

it and and that was that was the book I was I felt myself really asking why the

characters weren't developed. Siwe: yeah. Sam: why things seemed random like in the plot so that's how

I felt and when I closed the book I was like...Siwe: finally. Sam: and also even that it

ended abruptly. Siwe: Yeah, it did and do you know what I am probably like spoiling it so if you guys haven't read Period Pain

don't like listen to this part but Iike...Sam: but read it so you know how we feel...Siwe: I know it's a real thing but I hate it when

there's that whole dilemma of someone being raped and there's a pregnancy like

it's always it's always like I feel like it's always used as a shock device you know

like it's just annoying for me to be honest I know that it happens but I've never read a book

that's made it I don't know written it well I guess. Sam: and I think another thing is

it kind of feels like the rape is not enough of a shock

Siwe: yeah. Sam: So now put in the child and also why is the child the real psychological

struggle post rape the rape is the struggle like that's what you have to

work through mentally afterwards that's that's when you're hurt and so yeah

Siwe: what's the most annoying thing about lending someone your book? Sam: when it come

back with them corners. Siwe: Wait, the corners like this? Sam: yeah and it's not even like these nicely folded ones where

the person was trying to remind themselves of things it's that the book itself

has been squashed. Siwe: oh. Sam: and so basically the whole book Siwe: it's just like weird Sam: has been squashed. Siwe: Oh

Sam: And then this part is like dirty and all of that. Siwe: Actually let me check if your book is fine.GOD. No, it's fine.

Sam: Oh, this is such a fragile book so. Siwe: yeah. Sam: it's really easy to mess up. Siwe: but I feel

like you need to cover it as well. Sam: yeah like what must I do? Siwe: like get those plastic sticky covers

Sam: I should and the thing is I like giving this book out so it will fray. Siwe: yeah. Sam: I

really do like giving people a chance. Siwe: this is such a beautiful book. I'm gonna go get myself a copy Sam: definitely

Siwe: also like why can't people just like you can find a bookmark you can make

anything a bookmark. Paper you always have slips...

not always have slips or you have paper somewhere. yeah okay. Can you please give us a review of Collective Amnesia by Koleka Putuma. Sam: I enjoyed this

Siwe: Okay, firstly. She got it signed.

Sam: and I'd like I I had everybody had like two seconds you know with the Queen and

I was like I was like I will talk to her like I could see people like, "hmmm hi, what's your name and thank you. Bye" and I was like nah. What?

I probably... and the funny thing is I have seen her again then since during Fest and I probably

should have taken it like a little bit easy because I happen to see her again

Siwe: yeah. Sam: and so there's no need to be extra the first time but I got there and I was like listen I love this book and

I've been getting all my friends to read it and it's so I got it as a gift

and I think what I really enjoy is giving someone the book and then them

being like so much clicked for me. Siwe: yeah Sam: like so yeah that that was my long story and

that's why she wrote the message she wrote she was like "thank you for sharing this

gift with me" so okay, it feels more personal. So yeah, that was cute. I really really enjoyed it and I enjoyed that I could relate to it

because we're in the age of Tumblr poets. I always feel like I'm always pissing on Tumblr poets. American Tumblr poets and I don't understand the things

they write about like yeah and most of the poems we're reading lately about

relationships and people being emotionally distant in relationships and

it's not a feeling that I can relate to because I'm not that person so I just

find it hard but I really enjoyed it I enjoyed all those reflections on our

childhood Siwe: yeah Sam: I could relate I could see myself and my cousins eating from

the pot you know in the middle of the kitchen I could see it and I could feel

it and I could remember um what that was like for me and that's what I enjoyed

and it it's so relevant because she writes about student protests and being

queer and hiding that shit from your family

and coming from a religious background and I can relate to all of it and she

also writes about like she's a young person so she's writing about breaking

into like the working world and like sometimes you send your money home and sometimes you don't

and those you know those struggles and I really enjoyed that I could relate and I saw myself in the book. Siwe: Even

with the relatability thing. I related as well but to some extent obviously our narratives the

author or speakers narratives will could be like different and I was like it's

also not her responsibility for her for me to relate to it so much but I really

did enjoy there was like this other poem I think No Easter for Queers No Easter Sunday

for Queers and then there's like the pastors like

preaching and everything and she was like horny and hungry and bored is like yes like you

can imagine being at a church on Sunday and church services are so long Sam: and you missed breakfast because maybe you're running late Siwe: maybe running

late from a double life as well Sam: Hectic. It's actually funny cos when I was at home during Easter

this year, the pastor was preaching about how people

will be sitting in the service but they minds would be wandering. Was he...He was at-ing me. He was at-ing me and I was thinking sexual thoughts

Siwe: at church. Sam: At church and I was like he is at-ing me. He might as well look right at me

Siwe: Sam. Sam: Give me the mic and ask for my commentary so...Siwe: I'm sorry, pastor

Sam: what do you say because that's me. Church is a performance, guys. We go for our families. We go because it's a "family" thing.

Siwe: Yeah...hmm okay, not really. Sam: For some of us.

No yeah so that's that's the thing but I also what I like is that she is

young and to some extent still like under her parents thumb in a way so even the

going to church and subjecting yourself to all that it's like it's out of

deference for your family and it shows that she's not completely independent

Siwe: yeah. Sam: yet well at the time what she's writing about so... Siwe: and it's for me I

struggled it's like is there a distinction between Koleka the poet the actual

person and the speaker as well I always struggle with that in most poems as well

Sam: right? Siwe: like who is the speaker exactly? Is it a creation or character?

when you write your poems, who's the speaker? Sam: I mean Siwe: She's a poet. A really great one. Sam: that comment from uSandi is hard won

yeah I think we make assumptions. I assume it's her. Siwe: Okay. Sam: Um I think the way I distinguish it is depending on

the speaker they're written in so like first person third person are they telling me about someone

or yeah. Siwe: and I think even in this poem because sometimes she scratches out

they to us to I and I'm like oh okay yeah and can I ask then outside Koleka

do you know any of the have you read any other South African poet? Sam: South African poet. I can't

think of one on the spot but I read I used to read a lot of South African poems when

I was in school Siwe: yeah. Sam: but it was like these male poets like whose things I can't

remember now. Siwe: I remember a poem about Johannesburg. Apartheid poems but they were good. Sam: and they were old Siwe: but I enjoyed them yeah I just came to a

realization the other day that my school's curriculum wasn't that bad. Sam: yeah. I mean it could be

improved but it wasn't that bad. Sam: But yeah South African and I'm like even thinking like a young South African female poets

Siwe: No, in this industry. No. Sam: So tough.

O jakim biurze marzy pokolenie Y? – Łukasz Grass | Human Centered Places - Duration: 2:38.
