Different Ways to Say "Sorry!" | Useful English Expressions - Duration: 9:37.

Do you keep saying sorry but no one forgives you?

Find out why in this lesson because today I'm going

to teach you about different ways to say "Sorry."

Okay, so listen.

Sometimes saying "I'm sorry," it's just...it's not enough.

Or maybe it's just not appropriate.

And in English this is also the case.

There are different ways to say I'm sorry for different instances.

But how do you properly express yourself in English

if you truly are sorry about something you did?

Let's find out.

So first I want to look at how do you say you're sorry when you've made a small mistake.

So these are things like maybe you spilled a coffee on someone's paper.

Or maybe you've stepped on someone's shoe.

So these are smaller mistakes.

They are not horrible, life-changing kind of mistakes.

So just use them on small, small, tiny mistakes.

Number one is the simple "Sorry," or "Sorry about that."

So if you just say "Sorry about that," it's kind of an apology you do in passing.

So that is when you use this one for small mistakes

Number two..."My bad."

My bad is a very informal way to apologize.

It's almost like a non-apology.

It's kind of like saying "Yeah, I've made a little mistake.

But I don't care enough about it to apologize."

So you just say, "My bad."

The cat is mischievous.

He didn't carry he peed on the couch.

Number three..."My mistake."

And this one kind of means like a breakdown in communication.

Again, it's not a very heartfelt or deep apology.

It doesn't apply to a very, very, very big mistake that you've made.

It's just something small.

This can definitely be used in work context.

So you can say "Oh. My mistake I forgot to call you."

Or "I didn't give you the the right number." or something.

It has to do with smaller mistakes that you do.

But that you're still kind of taking responsibility for.

Okay, so the next set of apologies is for more serious mistakes.

These are mistakes that definitely impact someone's life.

Or really impact your life.

Maybe you've done something really bad at work.

Or maybe you've messed up something in your life or someone else's life.

These mistakes carry a little bit more weight.

So this is when it becomes important to make sure that you use the right kind of apology.

Number four is kind of a simpler one, and it's just really "I'm so sorry."

Just adding that SO there in the middle,

it just expresses that you care a little bit more.

That you've done something, and then it's just

it comes off as a lot more genuine than "I'm sorry."

Generally speaking, "I'm so sorry" conveys

a lot more emotion that "I'm sorry."

It's also not as strong as some of the other ones we'll see down this list.

So it's kind of for like a medium-sized mistake.

Number five is "I'd like to apologize."

Now this one can be safely used in a work context.

If you make a mistake you can always say "I'd like to apologize."

It's sincere, it's professional, and it gets the message across.

I'd like to apologize.

Number six..."I take full responsibility."

This is probably as professional as it comes.

It's definitely work approved, so you can use this at work when you've made a mistake.

And many times you can continue it with...

I take full responsibility for my actions.

I take full responsibility for my behavior.

I take full responsibility for any damage I may have caused.

The reason why I'm adding all of these is because this is

probably one of the more formal ways you can apologize.

You are being honest.

You are being serious.

You are willing to admit your mistake.

And you are doing it in a professional way.

Something I have also wanted to mention, especially if we're talking about work.

This is a very appropriate way to apologize even in a writing context.

So this being a more formal apology,

you can use it in writing like in work emails or letters.

This is appropriate. I take full responsibility.

Number seven..."It's all my fault."

Now this one is definitely about a serious mistake.

It's just not as formal as the previous ones.

So you might not see it in writing, but just speaking.

You can use "It's all my fault" in different kinds of relationships usually in close relationships.

Like a relationship you may have with your spouse, your husband or wife.

Or maybe relationships you have with your family or close friends.

If you want to express how you feel, and if you

want to truly apologize from the heart, this is a good way to say it.

It's all my fault.

Number eight is "I regret."

Regret means feeling sad and repentant and

kind of wishing you'd never ever done this mistake.

So you've done something so wrong that you just

regret all of the events that led to it and the event itself.

And you just kind of wish it never existed.

Now this we hear all the time in connection with romantic relationships.

It's one of those words that just comes with it.

I regret.

But it can also be a reflection, like things that you've done in your life that you regret.

That you wish you hadn't done.

Number nine..."Forgive me."

Now again, this is usually said after making a bigger mistake.

We hear this a lot in the context of family or the context of a romantic relationship

where there's potential for many, many mistakes.

Many serious mistakes of that.

Sometimes we can find it as "I hope you can forgive me," or "I beg you to forgive me."

Okay, so now that you know how to apologize for different situations

I want to practice what we've learned.

I'm going to give you a situation, and in the comments

I want you to respond with the appropriate apology.

Okay. Any one of the nine we discussed in this lesson.

Here is the situation.

You borrow your friends expensive new iPhone,

and you dropped it on the ground and it broke.

How would you respond? What would you tell your friend?

Use one of the apologies that we talked about in this lesson

to properly express how sorry you are for destroying your friend's new expensive phone.

And this is good practice for everyone reading.

CIUDAD DE MÉXICO (apro).- Maestra en historia del arte por la Facultad de Filosofía y Letras de la UNAM, Guillermina Guadarrama cumplió una cita más en su trayectoria de investigación del muralismo mexicano al celebrar el Tercer Foro de Muralismo La teoría y la práctica, en el Aula Magna José Vasconcelos del Centro Nacional de las Artes

Los pasados jueves 9 y viernes 10 de agosto, la estudiosa del Centro Nacional de Investigación, Documentación e Información de las Artes Plásticas (Cenidiap) del Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes (INBA), convocó a un nutrido grupo de artistas e investigadores del país

El encuentro no pudo ser internacional, se aclaró durante el acto inaugural, por falta de presupuesto

Sorprende la ausencia de impulso, porque el muralismo mexicano nos representa en todo el mundo y dejó huellas en varios países

En un texto breve de presentación, la también autora de los libros Los murales en los centros educativos, Escenas de la Independencia y la Revolución, y La ruta de Siqueiros, etapas sobre su obra mural, Guadarrama lo explicó de esta manera: "Muralismo, producciones murales o intervenciones sobre muro son diversas denominaciones para la línea artística más conocida de México, que convirtió a nuestro país, en los años veinte del siglo pasado, en el centro del arte del continente americano

En ese entonces, y durante décadas sucesivas, artistas de diferentes países viajaron al nuestro para aprender las técnicas que se estaban aplicando en la realización de los murales, con lo que el muralismo mexicano se convirtió en un modelo que repercutió en las creaciones de numerosos artistas plásticos

"Hoy el muralismo renueva bríos en diversas modalidades y bajo diferentes nombres: arte urbano, grafiti, arte público, street art o arte callejero; o bien caligrafiti, mural popular, mural comunitario o colaborativo

Sus artífices también se han diversificado: exgrafiteros, autodidactas, diseñadores, arquitectos, antropólogos e incluso etnólogos convertidos en muralistas por vocación y sólo algunos con formación en artes visuales

Todos ellos intervienen bardas, muros laterales y frontales de edificios, lo que rememora la propuesta que hiciera David Alfaro Siqueiros en 1932

"El mural es una manera de relacionar el arte con lo público porque llega a un público más amplio que otro tipo de expresiones artísticas

El mural despierta reflexiones, toca fibras que quizás no emitan otros discursos plásticos, busca transformar espacios, entornos y contextos, al tiempo que se compromete con lo social"

Aprendiz de muralista La participación en el foro fue diversa, desde los maestros herederos de aquel muralismo de la Escuela Mexicana de Pintura, de los años 20 del siglo pasado, como Antonio González Orozco, hasta los representantes del mural comunitario y popular, que se expresan en las paredes con pintura de aerosol y otros materiales de bajo costo

Con 84 años, el discípulo de Diego Rivera, considerado el "último muralista", autor de obras como Entrada triunfal de Benito Juárez al Palacio Nacional acompañado de su gabinete, realizada en 1967 en el Castillo de Chapultepec, González Orozco (quien está dando una batalla por su legado como publicó Proceso el pasado 10 de febrero), habló con voz pausada, pero firme de sus proyectos, los que llevo a cabo y algunos que se quedaron "en el papel, para el archivo" o de plano se fueron a la basura

Inició así el maestro: "Es lamentable que algunas personas piensen que el artista vive del aire, pero lo realmente increíble y muy deplorable es la ignorancia de la burocracia de la cultura y su desinterés por lo que debería ser una de sus funciones primordiales

Hago votos porque en un futuro cercano haya cambios sustanciales indispensables a este respecto"

Luego, habló de sus inicios como muralista, en la década de los 50 del siglo XX, como auxiliar de su maestro Leandro Carrión Nájera, en la estación del Ferrocarril de su ciudad natal Chihuahua, donde la emoción de verse en un andamio detonó su interés por esta forma de expresión

En 1954, ya en la Academia de San Carlos en la Ciudad de México, participó en los cursos de Rivera, de quien le interesó de manera especial "su sistema de composición de varios horizontes y puntos de fuga, que luego continuaría Juan O'Gorman" (arquitecto y pintor de la Biblioteca Central de Ciudad Universitaria)

Dijo que Rivera lo había empleado en Palacio Nacional, y luego en lo que calificó como la "obra cumbre" del muralista, la Capilla Riveriana en la Universidad de Chapingo

Y contó una anécdota sobre el pintor nacido en Guanajuato en 1886, quien falleció en la Ciudad de México el 24 de noviembre de 1957

Ese año, dijo, "acompañamos al maestro en su última morada en la Rotonda de los Hombres Ilustres del Panteón de Dolores, ahora llamada de Las Personas Ilustres

En lo más solemne del acto, un conocido oportunista (no reveló el nombre), sorpresivamente desplazó al compañero que iba a la cabeza del cortejo, sólo para que le tomaran la foto, simulando que cargaba el ataúd de Diego, a quien tanto había vituperado en vida"

"Pacificarte" En contraste con el maestro González Orozco, intervino también el joven artista Víctor Alfredo Morales Zapata Go Os, muralista y psicólogo, quien habló de su proyecto InSite Gráfico "Pacificarte", llevado a cabo en escuelas primarias, secundarias y preparatorias de Aguascalientes y San Luis Potosí, en donde trabaja murales comunitarios o colectivos con el propósito de disminuir la violencia entre los jóvenes, creándoles conciencia de sus impactos e implicaciones

Según explicó, realiza los proyectos con pintura acrílica y aerosol, puesto que trabaja con comunidades en zonas de alto riesgo, y los jóvenes están más cercanos a ese tipo de materiales

Difícilmente podrían trabajar con oleo. Explicó que su método es agrupar a unos 10 jóvenes para elaborar grafitis en colonias, donde esta forma de expresión ha llegado a ser considerada como "violencia gráfica"

Su idea es entonces crear con ellos nuevas propuestas y lenguajes. Primero asiste con los grupos a impartir conferencias sobre el tema de la violencia y problemas como el "bullying", y la última conferencia de tres, es sobre cómo el arte puede transformar la violencia a un sentido de paz

Luego comienzan a trabajar sobre un proyecto pictórico, los jóvenes aportan dibujos y se va construyendo una obra mural colectiva

Al clausurar el encuentro, Guadarrama celebró que fuese un dialogo enriquecedor entre todos los participantes

Reconoció que el grafiti todavía genera mucha discusión, pero el foro ha sido abierto a todas las expresiones de arte en los muros y busca aportar en el propósito de repensar sobre las categorías

Concluyó que la expresión muralística sigue vigente y renovándose con esa expresión y las nuevas tecnologías

Arsenal news: Bernd Leno warning sent to Petr Cech by Jens Lehmann - Duration: 3:42.

Cech started for Arsenal in their opening Premier League game against Manchester City which saw the champions win 2-0

The Czech international was picked despite new manager Unai Emery signing Bernd Leno during the summer

Cech shone despite defeat to Manchester City and looks likely to keep his place as Arsenal face his former side Chelsea on Saturday (5

30pm). But Lehmann, who helped Arsenal to a Premier League and FA Cup during his time with the club, has warned Cech that it won't be easy for him to keep his spot

"There's a new guy that came in for £20million," he said on The Debate. "He's competition

"We don't know who the coaches like. If he tries a new player out, if not the other guy is playing

"Bernd is a good keeper, no doubt about that. The question is: can he show more than he did in the past? "He must take more risks and continue his development

He does that - good!" Cech himself knows he faces a battle through the season with Leno set to eventually take the No 1 spot from the 36-year-old

"We all came to the pre-season to fight for the spot, every player always wants to be in the line-up and it is the same with us goalkeepers," Cech said

"On Saturday, I was told I was starting the game and from now on it will be up to me how well I play and whether the manager wants me

So we will see. "If you perform you have a chance to play as many games as you can and I will do that

"It was a challenge and obviously I was happy to get the nod, but nothing is finished

You have to work hard to retain the spot." Leno was one of five new signings at the Emirates during the summer while Emery also replaced Arsene Wenger as manager

And Cech was pleaded with Gunners fans to give the side time as they look to gel during the early stages of the season

"The fans have to understand that when you start building a new team with a new manager and a completely new way it may take time," he added

"I was at Chelsea for 11 years and I had nine or 10 managers so I'm kind of used to it

Every manager brings his new way of thinking, new motivation, new philosophy and new energy as well

"We have been working really well and really hard to make a step forward in our preparation and although the result was negative, there were a lot of positives

We need to adjust a few things but we are on a good way. "Obviously, in City we faced probably the biggest favourite to win the title

The hat is the created substitute of the human body, the human hand; the substitute of a

man holding his hand still and raised above his eyes, as shield against the bright glare

of light.

The hat, in effect, is the human hand, held in the air, without the object.

Man uses the hat to manipulate the Sun, to eclipse light, to control physical light and

shadow.

That is the awe and wonder of the hat: that man created the hat, and cast the shadow of

his hand into a cloth.

RHOC's Shannon Beador Is Considering a Breast Augmentation: 'They're Just Deflated Balloons' - Duration: 3:49.

Shannon Beador is ready for (another) body change. During a visit to SiriusXM's Jeff Lewis Live on Monday, the Real Housewives of Orange County star revealed that she visited a plastic surgeon to talk about getting a breast augmentation

"My mother has been saying that I should get a boob lift because I breastfed Sophie for 26 months and the twins for 14," Beador told Jeff Lewis

"When I went in he said that I would have to have an implant put in." The mom of three now-teenage daughters said she would go for a minimal implant

"I want them small," Beador said. "I don't need the big. That's not me. I don't even know [what size]

" Lewis, though, didn't think that she needed a breast lift. "When you said you were going to have your breasts augmented, I was surprised because you have such a good bra on all the time that I didn't think there was any need

They sit up nicely," he said. But Beador disagreed, saying that the bra gets all the credit

"I'm throwing skin in a sling every single day," she said. "It's just like a Calvin Klein pushup

I'm single now and my boobs are… they're just deflated balloons a little bit." Still, Beador did express some hesitation about the side effects of the procedure

"I don't know. There's scars and I don't really like to [see that]," she said

"The thing I asked about was does the sensitivity go away? Because that's key. It's a gateway to the vagina

[The doctor] said that sometimes it can happen. It's like a roll of the dice!" The twelfth season of RHOC was a dramatic one for Beador, as she continued working through her divorce, and working off the 40 lbs

she gained during the very public split. By the time the reunion came around in Nov

2017, Beador proudly showed off her 25-lb. weight loss, but talked about how tough it was for her to step in front the camera all season

"I have to tell you when the season started filming, I didn't want to film. I didn't want to be in front of the camera

It was like, 'Oh my God, everyone's going to see how I've let myself go,' " she said at the reunion

"You feel crappy about yourself. And I know there's a lot of women who say, 'You're not that big' or you know 'I'm bigger and you're making too big of a deal out of it

' And I apologize to those women, I didn't meant to offend anyone. But for me, I've always been a size 2 or 4

"My knowledge of postpartum — or post-natal, as we call it in England — is that you don't want to be with your child; you're worried you might hurt your child; you're worried you weren't doing a good job," she said

"But I was obsessed with my child. I felt very inadequate; I felt like I'd made the worst decision of my life

" The singer admitted at the time she was initially reluctant to talk to other women, before learning that finding friends who were going through the same thing was essential in learning to cope

New Jersey Flood Washes Hundreds of Thousands of Dollars of New Cars Away Decimating Dealership - Duration: 2:41.

A major cleanup is underway, both for the city of New Jersey and for one car dealership that lost most of its inventory in Saturday's flash floods

The Chrysler Jeep Dodge Dealership in Little Falls, near the Peckman River, is attempting to recover after at least 16 of its new cars were washed away by heavy flooding in the area from

Dramatic footage captured from outside the dealership shows at least six vehicles, including Dodge Durangos and Jeep Grand Cherokees, washed into an overpass, crashing into one another and the fallen debris

"They're all filled with mud, rocks and whatever you can flush into a car. It's there," Ajaco Towing's Vincent Cleffi, who helped dig up at least 16 vehicles out of the flooded area, told the local ABC7 News outlet

"The only thing I can hope for is God let my vehicle still be up on the lift. If not, then it's a total loss," said Daniel Perrotta, whose car was being serviced at the dealership

Many clips of the floods have gone viral on social media and YouTube, including one of a bride — still in her wedding gown — being rescued by police

Footage posted to the Bogota Police Department's Facebook page shows the newly-married woman sticking out of her sunroof as floodwaters rose high enough to cover her vehicle's license plate

While standing on the back of the Humvee, an officer then climbed over to the bride and took her by the hand to gently guide her into the rescue vehicle

"Unfortunately due to the quickly rising flood waters, this bride, her new husband and wedding party friends, got a rough start on things," the police department wrote in the caption of the video

"The fortunate thing, is we were able to help them through their first rough patch

" The department added: "Obviously their day has not gone as planned, so let's congratulate them on their wedding and give them best wishes for a lifetime of love and adventure, starting now!"
