bringing to you,
as the title of this book says, a practical guide to you,
with exercises you can implement in your day.
What you say to me? Join me now for a practical lesson on Mindfulness... and my 1st question to you
is:
Do you believe you are living your life in
autopilot?
Do you believe that you
want to make your decisions....
may even know what decision to make...but perhaps fear the
results of such decision?
Make a link with your reality now!
Do you believe that perhaps the daily stress, anxiety are taking over?
Let's find out, in practice, how mindfulness,
which comes from the teachings of Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn,
as M.B.S.R. (Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction)
brought to the corporate world to help you lower your anxiety and stress
levels and improve productivity...
How can this technique help you, in your own reality?
Tessa Watt's book come handy
with many practicing tools in mindfulness
(from beginning levels - up)
so to help you incorporate mindfulness in your daily life. And I
can share for my own experience
that mindfulness work so well when you decide to practice it.
It may be on a stressful moment,
an anxiety or irritability moment,
if you decide to practice and have it in your life, then
you will be able to sense it, to experience it truly!
There is no easy answer... you have to create and experience it
and then feel the progress and the results of such an amazing practice.
And moving to the book, in its first few pages,
we find the mindfulness definition,
in its essence: full attention in
the present moment (body, mind, spirit).
Be in the now,
with as less judgment as possible.
Nobody said it was easy, right?
This is why I value so much sharing this practical tip with you,
from Tessa's book , as a training
in mindfulness here with you all.
In chapter 6, the mindfulness practice goes
to your morning routine
brushing your teeth...can you picture it?
The practice that she calls "Mindful Tooth Brush"
That is it! Be in the moment
brushing your teeth...from the moment
you get your toothpaste and put it
in your toothbrush, experiencing this
unique moment of moving your hands, tasting the toothpaste flavor,
looking to the mirror...
Are you truly feeling it?
Pay attention, intentionally, outside
and inside of yourself,
remembering the practice of mindfulness
is for you to be in the moment, without trying to change anything you experience.
Just be present, in the now!
And you can ask me: Are you kidding me, Fernanda?
Come-on! Is this really serious? Begin my mindfulness practice
by brushing my teeth?
And my answer to you is - YES... this
is intended to be a simple practice, that you can begin practicing tomorrow morning...
actually, wake up tomorrow morning and try it, just experience it!
This can be your first step towards mindfulness:
Mindful Tooth Brush!
And still, you can ask me:
But why?
Because this is a powerful mental tool and coaching is all about having the right tools to train your brain
to have, e.g., more focus...
To make a connection of why I purchase
that certain toothpaste in the supermarket? With that peculiar
flavour? Why I do that?
Because I want to experience this sensation;
because I truly want to be more in the moment, so
give it a chance to yourself! And begin with this simple
and easy practice, so later
we can progress together. This is my
invitation to you!
Now experience it, leave your comments below because I want
to know your progress and results from this mindfulness beginners practice.
