praying the prayer of faith coming up next hey everyone welcome to Wednesday's
with crystal I'm crystal Sparks so glad that you are here hey if you're new on
my channel you are coming in at a great time right now I'm doing a series here
on my youtube channel about prayer so you want to be sure jump over to my
playlist so that way you can see last week's videos and then the upcoming ones
as they get at it so let's talk about the prayer of faith here's the thing is
that your prayer life is so much bigger in the few moments that you spend in
prayer and I know that it probably just rocked your world and I'm gonna kind of
break this down for you so think about it and whenever you pray it's a small
part of your day right it's just a few moments but the Bible says that we pray
without ceasing so how do we pray without ceasing well the truth is is
that every word that we're saying is either building our prayers or they're
diminishing our prayers the things that we say outside of our prayer time is
more important than the words that we say during our prayer time now that's
gonna be a big thing for some of you right now my daughter whenever she was
four years old was so excited she had learned at school that if you planted a
potato in the ground that it would begin to grow well excited at this new found
revelation she came home and she excitedly told us and so we got a potato
out of our pantry and planted it in the ground well she was so excited the days
went by the weeks went by and she can't would ask us about it every single day
in the morning every single day when she got home and every single night before
she got to bed she wanted to know about that potato
well after several weeks went by we thought it odd that the potato wasn't
growing we were watering it it had good amount of sunlight it was planted in
good soil and so in that we began to talk to her about it well she told us
she said I'm confident it's not growing and she began to explain to us that
every day she would go out and she would dig up the potato to look at it to see
if it had grown and when wasn't growing she just stick it back in
the ground and cover it with dirt and so that's still to this day one of our
favorite stories but I think about it in our prayer life see the actual planning
of the seed only took a moment it only took just a moment for us to put that
potato in the ground and making sure it was in good soil we took care of it and
everything was good but every time that Brailey my daughter would dig it up she
stopped the process and every time she stopped the process it lengthened how
long that potato is going to grow I think about in our prayer life it only
takes a moment for us to begin to pray that our finances turn around that God
gives us joy instead of mourning that God is restoring us wholeness instead of
brokenness it only takes a moment for us to pray that but every time we say
negative words what are we doing we're going out and we're digging that seed
out of the ground and we're stopping the process see it's what you're saying
outside of your prayer life that's hindering your prayers being answered
see we pray for our finances to increase but then we'd say things like I'm just
always broke I never have enough I don't know that we're ever gonna turn around
our finances are always a mess and as we declare those things we get more of the
things that we don't want we'll ask God for healing but then we
say things like oh I guess I'm just catching a cold
oh I'm my body's just old and achy you know the older you get the worse it gets
have you ever heard words like that the truth is if we're gonna start praying
the prayer of faith we're gonna have to start talking faith outside of our
prayer life we're gonna have to start speaking those things that aren't as
though they already were that's what Jesus told us to do right so in praying
the prayer of faith I'm gonna give you a few things that the Bible says in mark
11:23 it says that he shall have whatsoever they say so whatever you say
you're gonna have now note that in mark 11:23 it doesn't say whatsoever you pray
it says whatsoever you say so Jesus is letting us know that yes our prayer life
is important but the thing that supports our prayer life is what we're saying I
want to picture a bridge and see how long a
bridge is however long a bridges is it has little beams that support it from
underneath right now if the bridge didn't have those beams supporting it
the bridge would just fall down into the water or whatever it's trying to go over
right now I want you to think about this that that bridge is that is your prayer
life but the support underneath it is the words you're saying every single day
and every single day that you begin to declare God's Word outside of your
prayer life that bridge is able to go out a little bit further when you begin
to stand on God's Word throughout the day through a positive declaration that
bridge is able to go out a little bit further but when we say things that are
aren't faith building and we're saying negative words throughout the day our
bridge is getting a little bit shorter what are we doing we're lengthening the
time of the process of our prayers being answered another reason and that
scripture gives us is a Matthew 12:34 it says out of the abundance of the heart
the mouth speaks see I can see what you're believing by what you're saying
what you say tells me more about what you believed and what you're praying see
it's what we say is what we believe and the more that we believe it the more
we're going to say it but I've heard of recent study that says that we believe
more of what we hear ourselves say than what people say to us so if you are
lacking faith then it's time for you to start declaring words of faith as you go
throughout your day see the more that you begin to say it the more you begin
to believe it I heard a study recently and it was a doctor a French pharmacist
and he's decided that he was going to give people prescription of declaring
positive statements every day he would have them say things when they woke up
and he would have them say the same things before they went to bed and did
you know that as they begin to say those things their medical conditions begin to
turn around why is that it's because God made us to live on the prayer of faith
and our prayer of faith is supposed to be praying without ceasing so the words
that we're saying is faith building words all day long
so the next thing is number three is we also believe and therefore we speak
that's in second Corinthians 4:13 so we believe therefore we speak so what we're
speaking is what we're believing in Romans 10:17 it says though so then
faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God so if you want to start
building up your faith change what you're hearing here's the thing is I
will have people argue with me that bad things are going to happen to them that
negative brakes are on the way that they're gonna die of cancer that all
these bad things are going to happen and why are they arguing with me because
they've heard themselves say it for so long that they believe it it has become
the foundation upon which they're building their life upon in James 2:26
it says for as the body without the Spirit is dead so that faith without
works is dead also here's the thing your words are the spirit of your faith as
you begin to say things it's an act of faith it's an act of faith that you
believe what you're praying for you believe what God has said your
confession after prayer will either bind the problem or it's going to loose the
problem see Jesus said that whatever we bind on earth is bound in heaven
whatever we loose on earth is loosed in heaven so here's the thing what will you
say poverty or wealth what will you bind fear or faith what
are you going to be begin to declare lack or abundance as you begin to
declare it that thing will be made so so here's the thing is that you are the
biggest profit of your own life you are determining where your life is headed
and what God's going to do by the words you're saying and just as my daughter
Brailey is she dug out that potato every single day she was stopping the process
of what was happening underground and here's the thing is that the moment that
you declare those negative words you are stopping the harvest that God wants to
do in your life I want to challenge you just as we pause this time together and
we're ending today to just ask God God can you start to show me the negative
words that I've been and as you go through your day and you
hear yourself saying those negative things stop you're safe self and just
remind yourself no I'm gonna start saying positive life-giving words so I
can start declaring a prayer of faith a prayer without ceasing as I go
