Man Utd star Paul Pogba admits attitude not 'right' in Brighton defeat, slams performance - Duration: 3:31.

United went to Brighton on Sunday knowing they needed three points to keep pace with title rivals Chelsea, Manchester City and Tottenham

But they suffered a 3-2 defeat to the Seagulls thanks to an error-strewn display which Brighton trio Glenn Murray, Shane Duffy and Pascal Gross made the most of

United's problems were not just in defence though and the fact they grabbed a second goal masked a poor performance from an attacking perspective

Pogba, captain once again in Antonio Valencia's absence, failed to muster the kind of showing to inspire Manchester United to a win

The France international was scathing of his own performance post-match and pointed the finger at his team-mates too

"I'm disappointed, with my performance and the team performance," said Paul Pogba

"We didn't deserve to win. "I will always try. I know I lost a lot of balls which shouldn't happen

I tried, I kept pushing, that's my personality. I tried to help the team as much as possible

It didn't happen today. "Brighton prepared the game very well. Maybe we didn't have the attitude to break them, to kill them when we had to kill them and to go through the lines

That's a lesson we have to keep in mind. "If we deserve to win I will say that but today the truth is we didn't play well enough

They had more hunger than us and the result is the right one for them. "They had more hunger than us

I put myself first, that my attitude wasn't right enough. We made mistakes we shouldn't make

We tried to push and push, we kept trying, but it was a bit too late. "We were playing at home last week and that's different

Different teams, different tactics. I know you cannot always play very very good

The attitude always has to be very good and we missed that." United boss Jose Mourinho was happy to admit his side had made problems for themselves against Brighton

However, he refused to single out individuals due to the way that kind of criticism has been received in the past

"Look, when I speak about individual displays and am critical with my players you [the media and pundits] don't accept it," said Mourinho

"The press and pundits criticise when I go in that direction. I'll analyse my players' performances when they are very good

When I can't do that don't push me to the other side." United will be eager to bounce back with a win when they face Tottenham at Old Trafford at the end of the month

LOOK-SEE vs. MORDEO Creepypasta feat. Mr. Blackpasta | Scary Creepypasta Story | Crypt TV - Duration: 20:18.

- [Narrator] It was a final stride to produce a spark

in the hope that that spark would ignite a dying flame.

But after the accident four years ago,

the tension in the atmosphere between myself and Karen

was simply frozen, I mean our relationship was

beyond on thin ice, it had fully melted

into a river of mindless blame and guilty regret.

And she wanted a divorce.

I mean, I didn't but I guess I knew deep down

that it was inevitable.

In the winter 2014 Karen and I had been together

for six years, we've been married for three

and I have to say, our connection was on another level.

Beyond comprehension, like we were on fire

with electrically charged passion

until our emotions met face to face

with spontaneous combustion.

February frost layered the midnight road

as the full moon reflected glistening flickers of diamond

surrounding the yellow cat eyes guiding our car home.

We were coming back from Karen's brother's birthday party.

We were only like three miles from the house.

It was a Tuesday night, the road was completely void

of any other signs of life, empty, vacant and inanimate.

Until it suddenly lit up.

I was driving, Karen was way too drunk to drive

and I shouldn't have been behind the wheel

of that car either and I knew that but no one else

at the party seemed sober enough to understand that.

So I was admittedly way beyond my limit.

And I take full responsibility for that.

But I felt so pressured!

My wife, her brother, even his wife, they,

they all kept pushing me to drive.

They kept saying thing like,

it's not that far, you'll be the only one

on the road, don't be a wimp.

You know?

It was hard, we should have just walked.

But we didn't.

I got behind the wheel of that car

and within one mile from our house I destroyed everything

that Karen and I ever had.

But the darker side of the story would stain

our entire lives forever, til death do us part.

Karen wanted to hear some music

but she was too drunk to work the car stereo.

She was in full on blacked-out party mode at this stage.

I was trying to find a station for her,

when I noticed that she was taking off her clothes.

She was looking at me licking her lips.

I remember looking into her beautiful blue eyes

and thinking how hot she looked and bam!

We hit a young woman walking home

from her next door neighbor's house.

She died instantly, she was seven months pregnant.

It took the ambulance a full hour to get to our location.

It took the cops two.

When the blues finally arrived

and finished taking our statements,

they breathalyzed me but of course I was no longer

over the legal limit at that stage.

So the accident was attributed to frost.

A frost that chilled both Karen and I down to cracked shells

of our formed selves, worn out insoles of our souls.

If that.

We never forgave ourselves or each other for that matter

and we were never the same again.

Why would we be?

We were the worst kind of murderers.

And we got away with it.

We slept in our own beds that very night

while the dead woman's husband identified the baldy broken

pregnant body of his wife.

Come to think of it, we didn't do much sleeping.

And I sill don't.

Four hard, long years later

Karen served me with divorce papers.

She had nothing left, I knew it.

She told me that she was empty inside

and that the only way we could possibly move on

was to not be together.

I didn't want her to go, pack her stuff and move out

but she was doing the right thing.

So she started putting her stuff into boxes.

Her brother Stephen caught wind of this

and he wasn't happy, apparently Karen told his wife Alison

about the divorce papers and Alison had tried to talk Karen

out of it but Karen told Alison her mind was set.

Stephen came straight over to the house

with Alison and they begged us not to give up hope.

Stephen broke down and told us how responsible he felt

for everything that had happened that night in 2014.

I tried to tell him that he was only prolonging our pain

by trying to convince us to stay together.

Karen agreed, then Alison started crying

and mumbling that it was all her fault.

I told everyone very firmly

that it was my fault and mine alone.

I could have chosen not to drive that night but I did.

And that's that.

When I said that, everyone stopped talking.

There was an awkward silence echoing of the walls

in the room for several moments while everyone realized

the inevitable truth, it was over.

Then a single heartbeat spoke.

It was Stephen, he made us promise to go

on one more camping trip before we part ways for good.

We used to go camping with them five or six times a year.

You know, two couples, open air, beer,

blazing fire, tents, all that kind of stuff.

To be honest, it was something I hadn't realized

that I was going to miss or something

that I was already missing.

I glanced across the room at Karen,

she was already looking at me.

I could see an ever so slight raise in her high cheekbones.

The thought of a final camping trip pleased her.

It was a spark.

Two days later we packed our bags

and headed for the Freetown State Forest.

Stephen drove, I hadn't driven a car since the accident.

I set up front in the passenger's seat

and you know what, the drive over to Massachusets

was unexpectedly alive and energetic.

I mean, it was like magic.

Karen's mood was in a state I hadn't seen it in since,

since I could last remember.

Her and Alison buzzed in the back set

while I controlled the music.

For the first time in four years I could touch a car stereo

without flashbacks from the accident.

And there was this playfulness between Karen and I.

Not quite a fire but a definite hope.

It felt good.

Karen had decided to bring one of our old photo albums

along for the trip, neither of us had looked at pictures

in a long long time, hell we hadn't taken a single picture

together in four years.

The day before we left Karen told me

that if there was a chance for us,

even a single shred of light, she figured we'd find it

in that photo album or in those woods.

We arrived at Freetown State Forest at about 3:30 p.m.

On the way in, just past the forest sign

something ran across the road, inches away from the car,

causing Stephen to swerve and come to full stop

in the middle of the road.

Now, I admittedly didn't get a good look

at whatever it was but I thought I saw an animal.

Like a deer or something, but I don't know,

it was too fast and Karen and Alison didn't see anything.

Stephen swore it wasn't a deer.

He said it had antlers but he swears it was wearing a cloak

and had a skull for a head or something.

I assured him that it was just a deer

and eventually he agreed and shrugged it off.

I mean, it gave us all the shakes for a few minutes

but we all calmed down surprisingly quick considering,

well you know, 2014.

Anyway, we parked the car and walked for about a mile

to set up camp somewhere far away from other campers.

When we got to our site, the ladies made a fire pit

while Stephen and I set up the tents.

And again, the mood was as sunny and bright

as the September weather that surrounded the woods.

For a moment I thought the trip might actually be working.

Three hours later we had music from a wind-up radio.

A campfire blazing and the sun was setting beautifully

under the tops of the trees surrounding our site.

The four of us sat around the fire and conjured up memories

that I had forgotten about.

We laughed through the years of our past

and fought of the tears of a future

that we all silently feared would have

a drastic effect on, well, all of us.

As Stephen recalled a camping trip

from years ago when we all encountered a bear

that was fond of marshmallows, I looked over at Karen

only to find her gaze was already consuming my direction.

She smiled under her brother's voice

and continued to gaze at me through the dancing flame

burning between us, igniting the spark

that I was looking for.

We still had a chance.

After hours of reminiscing, several adult beverages

and a bit of admittedly tone-deaf singing,

Stephen and Alison said goodnight to Karen and I

before disappearing through

the unzipped hatch in their tent.

I winded up the radio to give it another charge

and threw some more logs on the fire

while Karen disappeared into our tent to get something.

Moments later Karen returned and silently sat down

right next to me, in front of the fire,

holding a massive black leather photo album.

I knew this album very well.

It had pictures in it from as far back as the first year

Karen and I started dating, all the way up to our wedding

and honeymoon, I could feel it.

This was our redemption, or at least it was supposed to be.

Karen smiled into my eyes, leaned toward me,

lightly pressed her warm lips against mine

and kissed me for the first time

in four heartbreaking years.

It felt so good.

It felt so.

But it was the last time

that Karen would ever kiss me again.

Karen placed the photo album in our laps

and slowly opened it to the first page of photographs.

So many memories came flooding back to me.

Karen immediately began to tear up.

We held each other for an hour

and talked about every single photo in that album.

One by one until we got to the last photo.

As Karen turned the final page in the album,

there was one last full page photograph of us on the left.

We were in a car, driving somewhere,

like a road trip or something, I don't remember,

but what I do remember is that both of our faces

were completely scratched off the photo.

It took me a minute to realize it was us.

To be honest I, I recognized the car first.

It was that car, our murder weapon.

Then our attention was drawn to the inside

of the back cover of the album.

The right side.

Across from the haunting photo of Karen and I,

there was something written in red, fresh red liquid.

I read it out loud, if you yourself cannot release,

then it will come to take a piece.

I asked Karen if she did this,

if she destroyed the photo and wrote the message

but she swore that she didn't.

I told her that it wasn't very funny

and that I felt very hurt by this

but again, she promised me that she had nothing to do

with what was in that album.

She was about to say something else

when a horrifying sound rang out

through the midnight forest.

(distant wailing)

We dropped the photo album as we sprang up to our feet

like stray cats caught off-guard.

We could hear a ticking sound coming

from somewhere around us, like a clock or something.

Karen shrieked in terror and grabbed onto me tightly.

She was trembling, I quickly shut off the radio sitting

to my left so I could listen.

The ticking had stopped, but it was that first noise

that had me shook up, I never heard

anything like it in real life.

It was monstrous and instantly hair-raising.

Karen and I stood frozen in front of the fire

with our eyes dancing all around the thick darkness

that engulfed the forest.

After a few moments of silence

and no further creepy sounds, I told Karen

that it was more than likely just an animal

and that we probably shouldn't worry

as most animals wouldn't come very close to an open fire.

She was about to reply when we both saw it.

A sight that will haunt me forever.

Standing on the other side of the fire,

sneering at us through the flames was a terror

that we could never have imagined.

The first thing I've noticed was teeth.

The bottom half of the creature's disfigured face

was mostly made up of sharp pointed teeth

that lined the inside of its black rotten corroded gums

or lips, I'm not sure which.

And its face was void of any facial expressions

other than ghastly scars that covered its entire head.

It had no eyes, no nose, no ears, no hair,

just, just old dirty skin with raw open wounds

that appeared to be in bad need of stitches.

And that creepy thing was wearing a gray suit

with a white button up shirt.

It just stood there, silently smiling at us.

We didn't know what to say or do, we were shocked.

We didn't even scream.

I remember that the thing was wearing read cloth

fingerless gloves, at the end of each finger

was a long black claw.

I started to ask what it wanted,

but the second I opened my mouth it started

rounding the fire and walking toward Karen and I.

We bolted towards Stephan and Alison's tent

in full on sprint.

As we got closer, Karen began screaming Stephen's name

and begging him to wake up.

Neither him nor Alison answered.

We got to the tent and Karen fumbled with the zippers

still crying out for her brother to wake up.

I looked behind us, the creature was gone

and the forest was silent.

And then I heard the tent unzip

and Karen scream in sheer anguish.

(dramatic music)

I will never forget how long that scream echoed

in the blackness of that dark forest.

I snapped my head back towards Stephen and Alison's tent

and saw what my wife saw, Stephen and Alison,

or what was left of them.

My brother-in-law and his wife were both missing

one of their legs from the hip down.

It also appeared that the leg bones

that made up the limbs that they were missing

had been used to impale their torsos.

One of Alison's severed feet was crammed

so far down Stephen's throat,

that his jaw had become unhinged.

Alison suffered the same fate with one of Stephen's feet.

They both appeared to have been folded in half

backwards at the waist.

And they were disemboweled.

There was blood everywhere!

Karen was screaming and delirious.

When suddenly that hideous sound rang out

through the woods again, this time

it was much closer than before.

(distant wailing)

Karen and I were still facing Stephen and Alison's tent,

too horrified to turn around.

I looked at Karen, I was about to tell her to run

when two red gloved fingerless black clawed hands

grabbed both sides of her face and dragged her away

into the darkness of the woods so fast

that it was as if she was never there.

(sobbing)

I spun around and shouted her name

but it was met with nothing other

than echoes of my own voice.

I stumbled toward the dying camp fire

and called out for my wife again.

No response.

I was about six feet away from the fire pit

when the beheaded body of Karen fell

from somewhere up above me and landed in the fire.

I instinctively turned around to make a run for it

and ran directly into the creature.

It had been standing behind me, quietly smiling.

I fell on my back, on the ground,

at the feet of the suited monster.

As I shuffled away on the ground,

I accidentally kicked our photo album halfway into the fire.

When I did this, the creature before me hissed

as though it was in pain, it fell to its knees

and then began crawling toward me on all fours,

snapping at my feet as it got closer.

I kicked the photo album further into the camp fire,

enraging the creature into a frenzy of fury.

It jumped up on its bent knees

with its fist on the ground and prepared to pounce

like a cat, it all happened so quick.

But I recall it in haunting slow motion.

I remember the creature's body leaving the ground

and launching toward me with an open mouth intent

on doing damage to my flesh.

I remember thinking, this is my final moment.

Then out of nowhere, accompanied by that dreadful sound

we'd heard earlier something clashed

with the suited creature mid air and took it to the ground.

The two things landed hard on the forest floor

with a heavy thud as they tumbled over each other.

I climbed up to my feet and ran as fast as I could

through the forest and away from the campsite.

I stumbled through the dark forest

for what seemed like hours.

I had no shoes, no water and adrenaline had consumed

most of my energy, there were thorns

and other things all over my body

but I could only feel one thing, exhausted.

I finally found a black top road

and collapsed the second I got on top of it.

Then everything went black.

I woke up in a hospital, handcuffed to my bed.

The police came into my room and questioned me.

And I told them everything, the entire uncut truth.

And they didn't believe me.

I could tell straight away, they asked me to describe

the other thing that saved me

but all I could remember was that it had antlers like a deer

and it made a terrible sound.

I was arrested that night and later on I was convicted

of the first degree murder of my wife, Stephen and Alison.

I was sentenced to death by a jury of my peers.

And now I'm just waiting.

But something tells me that I may not make it that far.

That my time is up.

My time is up.

Republicans Privately Admit That It'll Take YEARS For Workers To Benefit From Tax Cuts - Duration: 5:14.

Most of us that live in land of reality understand that the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act that was passed

by Republicans at the end of last year was never actually meant to benefit any of the

workers or average citizens here in the United States.

Nonetheless, we are inundated on a daily basis ... people like Paul Ryan or even Donald Trump

and Mike Pence and groups like the Heritage Foundation telling us that we're better off

now.

We're making more money because of this legislation.

Well, all we have to do to confirm that, that's not true is look at our paychecks.

They literally haven't changed.

I don't know about you but, yeah, I haven't gotten a single penny from this tax cut, and

I'm not expecting to.

I never was because I'm not an idiot.

I understand that trickle-down economics doesn't work.

It's never worked.

It can never work in practice because it relies on the good-hearted nature of corporations,

and while I don't work for a corporation that does that, I'm very happy with where I am.

The real people who got the tax cut, these corporations, these Fortune 500 companies,

these massive conglomerates, they're not giving the money to the workers.

And this week a new report from the Tax Foundation, which is a right-wing foundation, actually

said that, "Ooh, you know what?

Workers aren't going to get anything from the tax cut, but if they do, it's going to

take years and years for them to even get any of it, and when that happens, if that

happens, you'd have to make $83,000 per year to even see an additional savings of about

$1,200 per year."

So, we have a right-wing Tax Foundation think tank that is telling us that you would basically

have to make $83,000 a year, which is well above median income for the United States,

to see a measly $1,200 a year savings.

Now, don't get me wrong.

$1,200 a year for most people in this country would be a huge benefit, right?

That's about how much my wife, who is a public education teacher in a public school, spends

per year out of her own pocket on school supplies for her classroom because schools are so dangerously

underfunded.

So, yeah, that would make a difference ... but here's the thing.

Should we be happy about our $1,200 that we're going to get maybe in a few years' time?

And then they expire in 2025, by the way, because when you look at these corporate CEOs,

these bigwigs, the head honchos, the shareholders, the top 1%, they've already gotten money back.

They've already saved millions upon millions of dollars.

They don't have to wait five years to get a paltry benefit from this piece of legislation,

and oh, by the way, their tax cuts are permanent.

They're not ever set to expire but ours are.

That is everything that is wrong with this country today.

Republicans knew that this would happen.

They've seen this report from the Tax Foundation.

There's been reports of them saying behind closed doors that they know American workers

aren't going to get squat from this tax cut, but they don't care.

They would never say that publicly, and that's why they have to come out every day and tell

us we're doing better even though we can see the evidence in front of our faces that we

are not.

Yes, the unemployment rate is going down.

Fantastic!

So are wages, 3% total drop in real wages in the last 12 months when you factor in inflation,

3%.

So, yeah, American workers are not doing better.

They're not getting anything extra from this tax cut, but the CEOs, the corporations, the

top 1%, they've gotten their money already.

They're already happy because they're going to keep getting more every quarter, every

year.

I mean, hell, we had a millionaire Republican congressman, who the day he signed this tax

cut bill or voted yes for it, immediately went out that afternoon and bought a multimillion

dollar yacht that just so happens to cost as much as he would save per year from the

tax cuts.

It was a Republican congressman from Florida.

I forget his name, but I've done a video on it in the past.

But, anyway, that tells you everything you need to know about this bill, this legislation,

what it was designed to do.

It was a giveaway to the wealthy.

We got absolutely nothing from it and we never will, and they're willing to admit that now,

just not in public.

They'll say it behind closed doors.

They'll release these little papers that nobody will really ever take the time to read, and

then they'll hop back on Twitter and tell us how great our lives are now because we're

all just making so damn much money from that Republican tax cut even though, again, we

can all look down at our paychecks and see that nothing has changed except for a lot

of workers in this country the number on that paycheck has actually gone down about 3%.

LIVING IN NEW YORK CITY: Where to Eat! - Duration: 5:54.

so you find yourself in the greatest city in the entire world with over

24,000 restaurants in the city how do you decide where to eat in this video my

goal is simple I am proudly a partner with Google

Chromebook to show you the most unique spots to eat while in New York travel

and culinary icon Anthony Bourdain once said when traveling to New York ask

yourself what do they do that is unique to the city that they do in arguably

better than anybody else in the entire world and that is bagels that is right

bagels the East Village is known for its nightlife old-school bars vintage shops

and classic cafes the East Village embodies old-school New York I'm here at

Tompkins Square bagels on Avenue a Tompkins in my opinion is the best bagel

spa in the whole city the owner calls Tompkins

truly a love-letter to the East Village its first and foremost a neighborhood

shop you know the kind of store where no one can ever feel out of place Tompkins

like a few places in the East Village only takes cash which isn't really a big

deal there's ATMs on almost every single block so I have here the world-famous

everything at bagel toasted with cream cheese and lox this is my New York City

classic when I'm home in the city this is my comfort food and this is the

official taste it's the perfect balance of add-ons but

yet it's crisp because it's kösem it's one of the reasons why these bagels

taste so good is the fact that they are made right here on location at Tompkins

so legend has it that the reason why the bagels in New York tastes so damn good

is because Manhattan has some of the best tap water in the entire world it's

the perfect time to check emails also to organize my schedule with my business

partner Mike for the upcoming day week and even months in advance planning my

travels Tompkins Square bagels is located at 165 Avenue A every location

in this video will be shared down below in my saved locations in Google Maps so

classic New York is great but for lunch we're gonna check out a

bit more of a novelty location however if you're on a diet you might want to

skip this one although it might be worth ordering just for the Instagram travel

pro tip look at the tagged photos of the places you want to eat at before

deciding what to order and also you can check out Yelp for a more official

review of the locations so now I'm on the streets of Soho Soho is known for

its world-class shopping historic cast-iron lofts and now obscenely

massive milkshakes our next stop on this NYC food tour is at black cap on Bruce

Street now blacktop calls itself modernized for the Instagram age and

they couldn't be more spot on they are known for their world-famous massive

crazy milkshakes and burgers we have right here the cotton that candy shake

at black tap in Soho now this place isn't anything new it's been around for

about like two years or so but I've never been I feel like it's a novelty

thing that you just you have to order in New York and you gotta just go you got

to just put your face and eat it you have whipped cream underneath like I'm

not even after ice cream yet it's con candy whipped cream rock candies so we

have a bubble gum flavor actual ice cream for the milkshake

and as you can see it's already melting it's a hot summer day here in New York

City it's mid-august this is the perfect tree if you primarily come and get this

for the gram for the YouTube video they're a bit pricey just about $18 but

100% worth it for the experience so we're in Soho just going around and I

wasn't even really planning on putting this in the video but we're at Dominique

Ansel bakery I've never been here Mike's like oh man this is a

world-famous bakery they're known for their cronuts their pastries that's what

I mean about New York being the food capital you can just be walking around

and come across a world-famous place and not even realize that this just goes to

show you that in New York there's a surprise on every corner you know it's

the worst you get all nice and dressed up for a night out on the town only to

arrive at the restaurants and realize all the seats are taken

that's why my pro tip is the book in advance with an app like opened a wall a

few minutes to book in advance goes a long way or if you prefer a night in at

your hotel or your Airbnb you can always use seamless and have incredible food

come right to your doorstep but for dinner tonight we are going out

for a night out on the town I recommend the West Village or Soho as

far as neighborhoods for one specific reason amazing outdoor seating and

tonight I chose a cozy French restaurant that I was just passing by called Bistro

lay I mean there's absolutely nothing like having a meal right on the streets

in New York on a beautiful summer night not too hot not too cool yet just people

watching on the sidewalk good company and amazing food 24,000 restaurants this

is my first time eating here I have some salmon first bite at a brand new

restaurant

like a lemon zest to it at the end I had that little after kick 10 out of 10

would recommend it leave that review on Yelp and my number one tip for finding

good places to eat in the city simply walk around with an appetite and eat

wherever you catch the scent of a delicious meal comment down below your

favorite restaurant in the city make sure to subscribe for more high quality

at New York City content and with that I will see you in the next video

is #ShareYourRejection the story we need? - Duration: 6:46.

Hi friends

So this week creative twitter was having this conversation tagged #shareyourrejection.

It was supposed to be like a comforting thing.

Where all these people we all admire were like "I submitted a manuscript to thirty

different agents and they all rejected me and then the 31st person got it published

and now it's a bestseller."

it's supposed to make you like, hopeful and believe in yourself but I found it kinda

unsettling.

Okay, so I have a whole lot of issues with the way we culturally mythologize failure,

but that's a whole other video.

I already made it.

You can go watch it if you want to

Here?

Here?

Yeah no here? this one.

But back to this.

The whole share your rejection narrative sort of only works if you can then be all "but

look at me now, suckers!

I did all the things I wanted to do and I didn't even need your grant money, glen"

It doesn't so much work when you have the gmail folder of grants and residencies and

incubators and fellowships you applied to and didn't get, but you don't have the

exhale.

Like the whole, "and then I made it" part.

You know who I share my rejections with?

My journal.

Where I can be as petulant and gloomy as I want to.

But I was trying to see if I had any stories that fit the formula we're looking for.

The fall seven times stand up 8 genre.

The self made man memoir archetype.

So I went back to middle school.

And i I found her, sitting on vinyl flooring and wearing jazz pants.

I had just finished leaping and turning and running 32-count combinations along with a

couple dozen other 8th graders, auditioning for our studio's junior dance company.

We were that age where every single school day felt like an audition to be liked, to

be accepted, to be cool, to fit in—and here it was materialized.

Being in company meant you were one of the strongest dancers, you got to do the best

routines, and you get to compete, which was what all of us really wanted.

That meant you were REALLY cool.

But I still had crooked glasses and a middle part.

I hadn't quite figured out not to brush curly hair yet, so my ponytail stuck out like

the tail of a squirrel coming out of my head.

As we were dismissed from auditions, we crowded around the small window from the hallway that

looked into the studio to watch the girls in the senior company dance.

One day we'd be like them.

We'd figure out how to move our bodies as if they weren't apologies.

But until then, we had to wait.

It took almost a week to letter in the mail.

It was printed on computer paper in a standard flimsy envelope, but it felt like the most

momentous piece of mail I'd ever gotten in my life.

I took it straight to my room, which was humid and hazy with afternoon sun.

I scanned down the page for words like accepted, or pleased, or welcome, or congratulations,

but instead I found—understudy.

I started heaving sobs.

Being an understudy meant I could dance in the recital, with the rest of the company,

in the back row.

But I wasn't allowed to dance in competitions, which was the whole shiny halo on being in

company in the first place.

At our first practice we got the speech about the level we were expected to work at now—we

should all be trying to dance as hard as the best girl in the room.

And if we thought we were the best, we should be making sure no one else was coming for

our crown.

Then the understudies all got singled out so everyone understood why we would be performing

with them some times and not others.

All three of us, scrawny and spectacled, gawky limbs piled over ourselves, slurping on plastic

water bottles and hearing our teacher explain gently as it can possibly be explained that

we weren't quite good enough.

But the thing is, she was right.

I'd spent the last handful of years of dance classes phoning it in.

we had these burned cd's of our recital music so we could practice at home, but I

never practiced.

In fact, even in class I took every water break I possibly could to avoid having to

work as hard.

And then recital came around and I got a costume and an audience and I turned on all the energy

I should have been bringing to the rest of my classes, but It wasn't enough to make

up for how much I'd half-assed it up to that point.

And that finally stuck with me.

So I started picking out the best girls in class, watching Becca and Camille and Kirby

and trying to leap like they were leaping, holding my arms how their were holding their

arms.

Stretching as far as they could stretch.

And I started getting better.

Bt the end of the year I was promoted to full company.

Bt the next year were practicing in the few weeks leading up to a competition, and my

teacher was trying to motivate us to be just a little better.

She gave us the speech about trying to dance as hard as the best girl in the class.

She told that we couldn't practice at 50 and expect to perform at 100.

Then she said Taylor.

Yeah?

What was your role in company last year?

I was an understudy.

And where are you dancing this year?

In the front row?

In the front row.

That's what happens when you work hard.

And like, that's the kind of energy I'm trying to have creatively right now.

Because I was reading share your rejection and it treated rejection like a numbers game.

It's not always about you, it's not always fair, but if you try enough times success

will be inevitable.

And i think yeah, sometimes that's true.

That's where I'm usually at in my head when I get a rejection email, trying to remind

myself that it's not that I'm personally, as a person, not good enough.

But i don't know.

Sometimes it is about me.

Sometimes it's that I'm putting in 50 and expecting to get 100 back and I'm not

really all the way ready for the front row.

Or probably if I want to be charitable to myself and not slide into bootstraps capitalist

territory, it's that I have a full time job so I can't give 100 to my side projects.

so it's just going to take me a little longer.

And like someday I'm going to tell you one of those "if they could see me now" stories,

and you're gonna roll your eyes and be like Taylor these hashtags let people self-select

for a specific kind of narrative because the people out here trying and not making it don't

get the retweets so we don't see the stories and so you're only ever going to hear about

someone going from understudy to front row and you'll be right.

Which is why I'm telling you now that I'm not there yet.

I'm not making big, exciting moves, I don't even have swipe up on instagram stories kinda

clout.

I'm just out here trying to make videos every other week for about a thousand people

at a time and that still matters.

A whole lot.

To me.

Share your rejections in the comments, even if they don't have a gratifying twist ending.

If you liked this video please consider sharing it with someone else who might like it—this

is a word of mouth kinda channel so that's the most helpful thing you can do.

I will see you soon.

Bye

Lindsay Shookus Deletes Instagram Amid Speculation Over Ben Affleck's Dinner with Playboy Model - Duration: 3:24.

Lindsay Shookus has kissed her Instagram account goodbye for now — but why?  After Ben Affleck was spotted on Thursday having dinner with 22-year-old Playboy model Shauna Sexton, rumors began swirling about the status of Affleck's relationship with Shookus

A source previously told PEOPLE that Affleck and Sexton's outing "looked like maybe a first date" and that "she looked very cute, and he seemed interested

"  The Saturday Night Live producer was also missing from the actor's 46th birthday celebration the previous evening

Adding fuel to the fire, it was revealed this week that Shookus had deleted her Instagram account

Though it was active in recent weeks, the handle now directs to a page that says, "Sorry, this page isn't available

The link you followed may be broken, or the page may have been removed." Page Six was the first to report on the development

Shookus, 38, has previously spoken about how important it can be to take "a break" and focus on "self-love

"  "I've put a lot of time in the past two years into just making myself better internally," she said during an interview with Elle earlier this year

"Self-love means something. I thought it was all a joke for a long time. It's really important

Giving yourself a break is really important," she added.  Affleck and Shookus, who had been dating for over a year, were last seen together in late July during a mall outing in Puerto Rico, where the Justice League actor was shooting an upcoming Netflix film The Last Thing He Wanted

A source told PEOPLE that the pair appeared "happily in love" during their outing

Affleck's latest outing also comes after a friend close to the actor told PEOPLE that he has been in a happy, health-focused place as of late

"Ben is doing well," the Affleck pal said earlier this month. "He is in a good place mentally and has worked really hard to get here

He continues to focus on himself and the health of his relationships."  The friend added, "He attends meetings, many meetings, and he also does meditation and yoga

While he still has his moments — and let's be honest everyone struggles — he continues to work hard on himself

"  Meanwhile, PEOPLE previously reported Buffalo native Shookus had been staying at Affleck's $19 million mansion on and off, as well as her own place in L

A. for the summer.

know what I'm gonna start doing the glory kills wrong wish anyway and for

somebody splice is not tracking come on

instant glory kill good track what that's one thing I don't like it to do I

just instantly vanish and appear behind even though that was not my intention I

don't like that whenever it does not it's such a but if I can do it correctly

first it's great you can guy has I don't know if it's a suit or it's just test

Flash VS Reverse Flash Fight REVEALED? New LEAKED Look At New Flash & Nora SUIT- The Flash Season 5 - Duration: 8:02.

I am the one no no not anymore you really think you're fast enough to stop

me let's find out

I'm gonna show you actually I believe that's my line

what is good youtube Warstu here with a video on the flash season 5 so we've

got some pretty interesting stuff to go over in this video some set photos and a

blog from Canada grass it's always awesome that people like Kanna grass can

give us content to make during the summer because in the offseason when the

flash is an errand there isn't much factual information to govern in image

images until they are released by people like Canada grass so full credit to him

so guys make sure to subscribe to all the new flash based videos and make sure

to check out his blog down below I will put it down below so the flash show

returns early October so we are under two months away which is pretty awesome

this coming season of the flash I'm pretty excited about it

are you comment down below do too Nora Allen the Flash's daughter yes I know

she's Arya's his daughters well but I refer to her as the flashiest or not

iris his daughter she was the best part of season 4 for me cuz that was like who

is still at hand what is the land then we found out they change the name to

Nora Allen which is pretty awesome so whilst I was making this video I found a

really good video called the flash versus reverse flash CW 3d fan animation

of fighting which in my opinion the standard of this video I'm gonna put a

clip at the start of the video for one to two minutes but make sure guys to go

and watch it it's about seven minutes long and the CGI effects are so good

that the CW flash need to hire this guy I don't know if it's a guy or if it's a

company that made it but the fan made reverse-flash vs flash is so good I'd

say it's even better than the special facts team that the flash have so make

sure to subscribe and check their channel so awesome that I had to include

it inside this video so we know in season one we're gonna find out a lot

about Nora Allen so it's actually going to be interesting because I think with

season 4 they messed up and missed a massive trick don't take more speedsters

out of a TV show that's based around the flash I know they're taking Wally West

out of it but apparently they've got a pretty cool

reasoning for a do insight so we're gonna go over a bunch of set photos that

were being released via Canada grass and also go over his blog which I will link

down below so it reads like this granny toasting dressed as Barry Allen I do not

see any other cast cast members confirmed to be there but I did see

Jessica Parker Kennedy and her stunt double they're dressed as XS as we found

that out they shot the shoot mood outside where a crowd of maybe 50 ish

people were well-dressed standing at a building in shock and horror grant now

dressed as the flash in his new suit whilst there was excess in the crowd

suddenly he darts off leaving his daughter to watch the building which was

dressed up to look like central city picture news was iris there I can't say

I didn't see her around but she could have been there there was a lot of

background people it was dark and I was far away outside of those in the

superheroes costumes but couldn't really be sure who it was as far as what I

noticed grants new suit definitely looks sleeker slimmed less bulky seemed a bit

brighter to me more in tone with a John Wesley Shipp era flash suit might have a

looked also it looks like the top part of his headpiece is separate from the

rest interesting so let's go over the actual images myself so I do agree with

what kind of saying there is a certain image it's the first image you're gonna

pop up where the helmet or like the cow or all smiles looks like a helmet

which is pretty good it looks slim fit because usually the flash suit looked

quite bulky on him but this one looks like it's being trimmed down

it looks obviously they're using spandex now instead of leather so they can get

that tighter fit which is much easier and it's pretty cool that we've got

another few shots but obviously once when these shots come out officially in

the episode he did address it could be episode four but there's small chance it

could be Episode five so when we get this episode obviously would get to see

what the actual suit really looks like up front and yet we do get an image of

Barry Allen the flash with his cow down a helmet down in front of a crowd but

it's pretty blurry so I'm unsure if that's a special effects scene we get

some other shots of Nora West Allen's new suit which does look pretty cool so

guys that's all I've got a report for this video so like I said guys make sure

to check out that reverse flash fight it is absolutely insane make sure to check

out Canela grass by log as people like me couldn't make videos like this

without people like Kim reporting the news so it's just calls from new images

of the flash suit so new images of the Nora Allen excess suit isn't too much to

go over I mean a bunch of people looking at building in shock horror so yeah it

just looks like a standard kind of villain scene setup without really

seeing too much - like I said guys please like subscribe and comment I will

be doing more flash content the first content hasn't gone anywhere I'm just

trying to make the flash content more transparent better and obviously make

the flash stuff based on things rather than chunking out a lot of theories for

a TV show which it's easy to make theories about when the actual TV show

is actually running so guys I'm gonna be doing a Q&A based video so if you do

have any questions about anything flash related arrowverse related put them down

below and I might do a Q&A at some point during this summer break so guys please

like subscribe and comment we're getting close to 35,000 scrubbers which is

absolutely insane I know I've been doing a lot of Marvel based content but I've

still been doing flash content and I do new decent content when new stuff pops

up like the Green Lantern like Shazam and that kind of stuff but I just cover

comic the way stuff on this channel so I will try to go back to the roots and do

more flash content when it is actually sanctioned anyway guys please like

subscribe and comment and I will catch you in another video very soon Katia

On Demand Clothing - the Future of Consuming with Phyllis Khare - Duration: 4:09.

like share all that good stuff subscribe oh god am I actually gonna say it and

click the little bell icon to get notified when I have another insight or

rant that I must publish up on YouTube -- this might be part two of my last

episode because I'm continuing the discussion about e-commerce and also

on-demand clothing and lifestyle items and things for your home and what that

means for the future - where you can position yourself to really enjoy this

next wave of consumer creativity because I really do think that eventually we'll

be creating the things - only the things that we need - only at the time that we

need them and less shopping in a place where there are a hundred to a thousand

of the same thing and we just get to select that one thing - I really think

that artistic creation is the wave of the future and I'm I'm thrilled about it

so I made a new rule for myself and that new rule is that I'm not going to

purchase anything going forward if I can purchase it through a company that can

create it on demand and using something that I add to it my design my creativity

so that's my new rule and you know I think I showed you in the last video

some of my clothing that I'm buying but I know you've seen my scarves and

previous things but now it's going to glassware and plates and cups and

everything shower curtains towels everything but what I want to do is I

only want to work with companies that are either B Corps or have the same

principles of B Corp and are being good stewards of the environment

and of the people that they employ so that takes a little research but which

are those companies or companies you'd be proud to be associated with - so in the

last episode I did talk about VIDA and I'm very proud to be associated with

them because of the way that they've designed their business model and the

way that they take care of the people who work for them - they do not pay out a

lot of money to their artists and that's because a lot of that money is going to

pay for the business and that's just one of those things you have to weigh if

that's the appropriate thing for you to do -- do you make a stand for something in

your life? I have a poll here somewhere is this something that... no that won't be

on the YouTube video I did that for the IGTV...

edit all of this bit out -- and when Amazon submitted their patent for an on-demand

manufacturing process you can see all of those bits and pieces coming together

where you can stand in front of some sort of camera that gets your entire

body shape just right - I think iJustine just did a thing with this as an

app that does that gets your body just right and then you can say okay well I

want something that has no sleeves and it's this long and I want this design

that I created in my artist studio on it and make it so - and then either have

Amazon deliver it to you or have Amazon have the app that you have with your 3d

printer and you just print it right there - and I think that some version of

that is in our future and I think it's an amazing future I'm really looking

forward to it -- how about you - are you looking forward to this future or do you

really still love to go to the mall and shop for hours and look for things that

somebody else created that has nothing to do with you...

leave a comment

go have a good day - back to work
