Youtube daily report w Aug 12 2018

We present the publication of a collection of short stories by Gustaw Herling-Grudziński from 1997.

with the author's authorship, entitled "Don Ildebrando".

Herling-Grudziński (1919-2000) was one of the important emigre prose writers, literary critic and publicist.

During the Second World War he was involved in the conspiracy and he was arrested by the NKVD

and after staying in numerous prisons he went to the labor camp in Yercevo.

He described his experiences in one of the most important works devoted to 20th-century totalitarianism,

in "Another world".

After being released from the camp, along with the Anders polish army went through the war route to Italy.

After the war he remained in exile and acted as an important figure

m. in "Kultura" in Paris and as the head of the cultural department of Radio Free Europe.

He was also a famous diarist, the author of "Diary written at night".

Master of small narrative forms.

In the late-period stories from the volumes "Hot breath of the desert"

and - available in the antique shop - "Don ILDEBRANDO"

(both from 1997),

the subject and symbolism of Christology gives way to the motives of evil described in the Manichean perspective,

and art deprived of ethics loses its meaning.

E STÖKSKE FIETSE | WEEKVLOG 13 | SEASIDE, OR - SEATTLE, WA - Duration: 11:50.

Hello! And welcome to my channel.

My name is Frans and I will be cycling a short distance..

A very long distance actually; I will cycle from the east to the west-coast of the United States.

That's about 4500 miles!

And this is where I am right now.

July 22

At my warmshower host

An extra day off at Seaside OR

we are going to Cannon Beach OR

Together with Sam, my host

We are getting ready to cycle towards Cannon Beach

Staying an extra day at Seaside

cycling on the busy 101 towards Cannon Beach

Sam and I cycled uphill for a bit and soon downhill

Those beautiful homes at the beach

Incredible to wake up here

I'm cycling towards Seattle

This morning I left Sam's place

Sam . . . . Thank you very much

This morning it was foggy

clearing up now back here at Astoria OR

The bridge over the Columbia river

but I will not cross this one. I will go further inland

And, uhmm

first I'm going to take a ferry to the island

cycling across the island, cross the bridge

cycling into Washington State and stay there

Just in time on the ferry

The gate was already closed, but the ferryman he saw me and

opened the gate again. So I am . . . .

. . . . on the ferry

Look

On Puget Island

I'm going to cycle over this Island to

the mainland

I stayed the night at a motel

Because the first warmshower host, he responded, was not available.

The second one didn't reply at all

Also no camping

So I took a motel in Kelso WA

Did I pronounce it right? Wait a minute.

Yep ! Kelso WA

Today I'm going to Rochester WA. There is uhmm

my warmshower host who has responded and is available

I can pitch my tent in their little backyard

We are going North

Hello woef, hi woef. Oh, look here

I'm at my warmshower host Morgan and Laurens place

there they are

This is their "little" backyard

Just left Morgan and Laurens place a minute ago

My warmshower hosts

Stephen L Beckley from Fort Collins

Cycling Club, who I met a couple of weeks ago

A month ago, I believe. But . . .

Uhm, he said:

If you are in the neighborhood of Olympia, contact Doreen (friends of Stephen)

I'm going to visit Doreen and her husband

and I can stay there overnight

how to go on from there, we'll see

a short bike trip, 20 miles

Awesome

But look. This is the road to Olympia

nice and quiet, enjoyable.

Drive thru espresso bar

and I'm going to try it on my bike today

Look, this is one of them

Terrace, bicycle stand

I arrived in Olympia

Together with Doreen and Mark. They are taking me to visit . . . .

We are in the city of Nirvana

This is where he was born, Kurt Cobain

We are now in the Park. We had lunch

We are going to hike in the rainforest

This tree is enormous

Goodmorning, Friday July 27

I am in Shelton WA at the moment

I wanted to film earlier but I was cycling on Hwy 101

And on Hwy 101 there is a lot of traffic so no option to film

Now on my way to Bremerton WA

Interstate 3

Not a lot of fun to ride but it is on the map

It's the only road

The only road to Bremerton

Okay, I arrived at Bremerton

I'm with Brain and Carmala

My warmshower host

I'm going to give my card

Currently on my way to the ferry

Leaves in about 30 minutes

They ask all cyclist to arrive 20 minutes prior to departure time

And then towards Seattle !

Waiting until the ferry arrives

Cyclist get priority loading

But I have some time left

and then to Seattle

Unbelievable

The ferry arrived, now we wait . . .

Final destination

Next week . . .

I got a cardboard bike box

Here's Why This 1982 Corvette was the Last of the C3 Generation - Duration: 6:15.

it's time for show-off Sunday, where everyone has a chance to show off their

own car, and here's this week's winner, hey Scotty just want to say thanks for

having me on the show appreciate you give me the opportunity

to show my 1982 Corvette, I feel it's a special car

it's the last year of the C3 body style, Chevy was busy work on a new

body style, totally transformed for 1984, there was Corvette built in

1983, in 1984 they introduced the C4, so that's why this car is

special, it's the last of its breed with a few surprises, this is one of 25,407

and in 1982 for $22,000 you could own one of these, for the first time since

1965 this Corvette's 350 small block was fitted with the computer

control twin throttle body crossfire injection and only optional with

automatic turbo hydra-matic 4-speed only, the car has 200 horsepower 285

foot pounds of torque, nine to one compression, the car moves it

was geared for low end ratio and it's got a lot of bottom end torque, okay so here's the

car, let me show you a couple of things about, it well I guess one of the things

that you know making 82 what an 82 really is, is the fact that back in 82 we

had T tops, T tops are kind of cool because it

gives you the freedom of having a

convertible without really having a convertible, so you could drive around

take the tops off and kind of enjoy the weather when it's nice out, let me show

you the engine here,

starts right up, all original, it's had one paint job

which I did about two years ago, otherwise the

interior of the car is exactly as is on the factory

I mean the thing I really like about it the simplicity of what they did back in the day,

I mean if you look at it as pre-historic as you could be, I mean

you have straps holding in your car t-tops I mean there's not even any

velcro or buttons that hold it down, so if you drive them back here your T-tops

slide around, which is you know it's kind of cool,

you know I mean interior is, every gauge is working, everything was the only thing I

did was I changed the radio because I like listened to you know music

everything else is the way it was from the day it came out of the factory

which is kind of cool,

cars running on 57,000, I got it in had 53,000, so I put

some miles on it, ok guys so one of the things I'd like the show about the car is in 1982

as in all vets, they have these you know these hidden lights which is really

really cool,

so this is what you know really makes a Corvette what a Corvette is, all these little futuristic things that make it really cool,

so one of the cool things that made me want to buy this car when I bought it a

few years ago was, I knew it was well maintained and well taken care of

obviously, but what I came to find which is really really cool is that I have the

original owners manual, I mean original from the factory I mean

I'm the second owner so this guy really took care of this car it's been

garage kept car I have the actual 1982 Chevy new car warranty paper that was

bought from the dealer, from the original owner, kept all the paperwork I have the

original build sheet, so this car is definitely well-maintained and I do the

same I keep this car in the garage, it's a weekend car I didn't put too many

miles on it, but you know just having stuff like this and being able to look

at the history of this stuff, you know it's really really something else it's

like a time capsule, yeah I really dig it man I really like the whole idea of the Corvette

I like the whole idea of the 80s and how everything was just kind of

put together for its time and era, just a time capsule,

well that was this week's video and remember to have your car video

highlighted here on my channel, check this out,

so if you never want to miss another one of my new car repair videos, remember to

ring that Bell!

Family of 'suicidal' plane thief is 'stunned and heartbroken' - Duration: 3:26.

The family members of the man who stole an airplane and took it on a joy ride that cost him his life described him as "warm and compassionate" and said they are "stunned and heartbroken" over his death

In a statement released late Saturday, the family of Richard Russell, a ground service agent at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, nicknamed "Beebo," called him"a faithful husband, a loving son and a good friend

"  On Friday night, the 29-year-old Sumner, Wash., man hijacked a 76-seat Q400 aircraft belonging to Alaska Airlines' regional carrier Horizon Air and performed aerial acrobatics before crashing into the nearby Ketron Island, officials said

"This is a complete shock to us," the family said. "We are devastated by these events

"  Authorities classified Russell as a "suicidal male." While in the air, he joked for nearly 20-minutes with an air traffic control agent, but also called himself "just a broken guy" who was likely disappointing the many people who care about him

"As the voice recordings show, Beebo's intent was not to harm anyone," the family said

"He was right in saying that there are so many people who have loved him."  "A childhood friend remarked that Beebo was loved by everyone because he was kind and gentle to each person he met," the statement read

Coaches at Wasilla High School, which Russell attended, described him as an outgoing star athlete and "a great kid,"  "Everybody wanted to be around Beebo," track and field coach Gary Howell told the Anchorage Daily News

"He had that energy, that vibrance. He was that kid you high-five in the hallway even if you don't know him

"  Russell graduated high school in 2008 after a stellar career as a running back, wrestler and thrower

In his senior year, he placed fifth in the discuss 2008 ASAA/Alaska State Track and Field Championships, was fourth at 215 pounds at the state wrestling tournament and ran six touchdowns as a fullback on the school's football team

After graduation, he went on to play at least one season of football at Valley City State University in North Dakota

His former coach said there's still a weight belt in the Wasilla High gym that says "Beebo" — adding he was in "total shock" over the incident

"The kid I knew wouldn't do that," he said. "There's just no explanation."  With Post wires

Why Don't Waldorf Dolls Have Faces? - Duration: 3:19.

Hi, welcome to another Sunday with Sarah! I'm Sarah Baldwin. I'm a Waldorf teacher,

an author, the owner of Bella Luna Toys, and I'm here today to talk to you about

Waldorf dolls and their faces. One of the questions I'm most often asked by adults

who may be discovering Waldorf education or visiting our store in Maine or our

website, is why the Waldorf dolls have no faces or minimal features. Well, there's a

good reason for this and I'm going to tell you about it. If you imagine a

plastic, mass-produced doll with a molded, fixed, rigid face that's usually smiling,

it's very hard for a child to imagine that doll to be anything other than

smiling and happy. But when you provide a doll with simpler features, or no

features at all, it leaves lots of room for the child to use his or her own

inner picturing abilities to imagine that doll to be happy or sad or laughing

or crying. It's funny because adults often ask this question, why the dolls

have no faces, but children never—I've never in 20-30 years working with

children, ever had a child question it. So a few examples here: I have a little wooden

Peg Doll that has no face at all. It's just kind of a suggestion of a human

being. This is a Classic Waldorf Dress-Up Doll, handmade doll, and it has very

simple embroidered features, just two embroidered eyes and a little hint of a

mouth. And this Waldorf Heavy Baby Doll which has the weight of a real baby,

it's filled with millet and scented with lavender so it's very calming and

soothing for a child to hold. I don't know if you can see its features. They're

so simple just two little embroidered eyes that look closed and a little mouth.

So I hope that makes sense to you, hope that clears up some of the mystery if

you've had that question. If you are enjoying these videos please

subscribe to my YouTube channel. There will be more coming and you if you have

any questions I'm here to answer them. You can email your questions to

sundaywithsarah@bellalunatoys.com and I'll do my best to answer it in a future

video. So thanks for tuning in, see you next time! Bye.

How To Attract Any Girl | The Butterfly Paradox (Animated) - Duration: 4:34.

- [Narrator] In order to maintain attraction with a girl

or maintain attraction in a relationship you have to.

(gentle music)

What you are about to learn in the next few minutes

is the biggest mistake that a guy can make

when it comes to attracting a girl.

It's not something you learn in school.

It's not something your friends and family will teach you.

It's something that most men will never understand.

In life, we're usually taught

that when we have something good,

it's important to do everything in our power

to hold onto that thing.

If we get a good job,

it's important to perform well in order to keep it.

When we get an expensive cellphone,

we buy a case to protect it.

If we get a scholarship to a university,

we're told to do everything in our power

in order to hold onto it.

So it only makes sense that if we meet an amazing girl

or get into an amazing relationship,

we should do all that we can in order to hold onto it.

Right?

Wrong.

This is the misunderstanding that so many men have

and I will explain what I mean by going over something

that I like to call the butterfly paradox.

A woman is like a butterfly that has landed into your hands.

It's beautiful, exotic, warm, friendly,

and it's amazing to look at.

You want to love it and appreciate it.

You might even want to curl up your fingers a little

to protect it from the wind.

The more you get to know the butterfly,

the more attached you become

and you might even start feeling like you need the butterfly

in order to live a happy life

and because of this feeling,

you will slowly start to squeeze hand tighter and tighter

because you don't want to lose it.

You want to do everything in your power

to prevent this beautiful butterfly from leaving your hand.

Because you love her so much,

you will start to squeeze your hand tighter and tighter

and you will start to suffocate the butterfly.

This squeezing will manifest itself through jealousy,

insecurity, rules you want to place on one another,

like you can't do this, you can't do that.

You'll start asking questions,

like where were you last weekend,

who were you hanging out with last night,

why didn't you text me?

When you do this, when you keep squeezing and squeezing,

what do you think is going to happen to the butterfly?

It will start to feel trapped, resentful, scared,

and she probably will want to leave you.

In order to maintain attraction with the girl

or maintain attraction in a relationship,

you have to become okay with the idea

that the butterfly could leave.

You have to understand that you do not own this butterfly.

This butterfly is its own creature.

It's choosing to stay with you.

You do not have the right to force

that butterfly to stay with you in your hand.

It's only when someone has the freedom to leave

is when they will want to stay with you.

If you don't give them this freedom,

it's only a matter of time before they fly away.

So you need to come from an abundance mindset.

You can't rely on a girl or anyone for that matter,

for all of your good emotions.

The moment you start to rely on her for your happiness

is the moment when you start to become very needy

and it's when you will start squeezing

your hand tighter and tighter.

Instead of projecting your insecurities on one another,

or placing rules and restrictions on one another,

you have to simply trust each other

and have faith that the other person

will the make the right decision

and if you don't have faith in your partner,

then that is something you need to talk about

and that's something that is probably a much bigger problem.

In order to come from this abundance mindset,

you need to have things going for you in your life

outside of the relationship

and these things could be something like a good career,

cool friends and family.

You might have awesome hobbies

and you should always be trying to improve yourself

and trying to become a better man.

This mindset is so attractive to a girl

and this mindset will keep the spark in your relationship

even if you've been dating each other

for about three or four years.

If you squeeze too hard,

you will suffocate and lose the butterfly.

If you enjoyed this video, please subscribe to the channel

and leave the video a like.

Thanks so much for watching

and I'll see you in the next one.

How to create content when you don't like writing - Duration: 6:47.

Hi there Rachel from Geek Unicorn and you're watching Geek Unicorn TV today

I'm gonna talk about how to create content when you really hate writing

blogs I suffer from this problem it's not so much that I hate it it's just

that once I start getting into it I find I you know my creativity dries right up

or I spend an hour on a paragraph like it's just pretty brutal like me trying

to do a blog post written out can be really hard for me and I've heard from

other people too, they just don't like writing or they find it takes a really

long time so what I do is I record a video I also

have a podcast so there's a couple ways you can do this if you are good at

talking or even if you're not gonna talking try the talking method and then

have that have that audio transcribed so you can have audio transcribed on

there's lots of transcribers in the world who will do for you it's anywhere

from $1 to $3 a minute typically and there's a website called rev.com

REV.com that will transcribe your videos for a buck a minute that's US

dollars and so you can then take that video that you have and you can create a

blog post from the video but then include the transcript because it's

really the transcript that's going to help search with search engine

optimization search engines are getting better at listening to the audio of a

video but they're still not quite there yet they really do need the text or they

need the closed captions on a video to understand what that video is about I'm

gonna show you how what my what my blog post looks like when I do a video and

I'll show you why so why I do it this way um so I'm going to just share my screen

here oh that's let's get that out of the way

okay so you can see here this was on my

website this is a blog post it was how to create a Google review link you can

send to clients and then I just put like a little quick introduction it didn't

have to take me a long time to do and then you can see I have my video here

and then below that I included my transcript so all these things are

really helping my SEO the transcripts helping my SEO if you read of um listen

to my video which I will mute you can see I have closed captions that is

helping my search engine optimization now what I did with this particular

video is I content marketed it is on YouTube but I content marketed my blog

post so this is the blog post that I marketed I didn't market or share the

YouTube video except for through my post but if you go to look at my YouTube

video it has over five almost six thousand views so over 5000 views um and

that's because once I started generating traffic in and views in through my blog

page it also increased the views on my YouTube page and then my youtube video

automatically started to get higher and higher in its own search ranks

so I got a lot of views just on on YouTube alone by sort of by

having it on my blog and kind of kick-starting the content marketing

through my blog so this is a really and then I think I believe I do rank in on

Google for how to create a Google link that you can send to clients so this was

an example of a really good way that I created content I didn't have to write

the blog I did what was comfortable to me which is to do a video and then I

posted it on on YouTube but I used the embedded YouTube video onto my blog post

I content marketed my blog post and then that sort of started that snowball

effect of then increasing my ranking in YouTube as well as on regular

old search engines like Google although

Google owns YouTube anyway so I'm gonna that's a really great thumbnail pause

for me I'm going unshare this and get back so if again if you don't like

creating content or if you don't like writing I should say go for the video

method if you don't like video you're like look I don't like seeing myself on

camera I'm totally ashamed I I get that too you

can practice first with videos I encourage you to practice with your

videos and just keep keep doing them you'll eventually get more comfortable

and then the second thing you can just totally just do a podcast or a audio

recording and no video you don't have to do any video and have that transcribed

if you're like I literally have nothing to say I can't say talk anything I can't

write anything what do I do to create content well you can get a content

writer but I totally get that getting a content writer can be a little bit

expensive for some people a well-written blog post can cost you know two hundred

to five hundred dollars so if it's not really meeting your marketing strategy

to be investing that kind of money then that might not be the way that you want

to go you want to consider either hiring people to write content for you

or asking people in your network there is lots of people who are willing to

write blogs for free you just sort of have to give them a lot of time and

space to be able to create that content for you and then you want to make it

valuable for them so if you have a network that you can share with another

really great way to do it is to create what's called an expert roundup post and

these are posts that you curate short responses from a whole bunch of people

and if you watch my next video you will see how to create one of those

things and I also have a link for a template on how to approach people to

write an expert condo vlog in that video so you want to make sure that you check

out the next video for how to do an expert roundup post thanks for watching

Top 10 Scary Prison Punishments - Duration: 6:29.

How's it going Youtube?

I'm your host Landon Dowlatsingh, and welcome back to another most amazing video.

Before we get started I want to know, what is something about prisons that scare you

the most?

Being imprisoned doesn't sound appealing to anyone.

Especially when we find out that there are a lot of cruel and unusual punishments that

are carried out on the inmates on a daily basis.

So here are the top 10 worst prison punishments.

Starting us off in at number 10 with Sodomy.

This is a very common thing that occurs in prisons all over the world.

A lot of inmates are abused on a daily basis by other aggressive inmates or prison gangs

that are trying to gain power and control.

There are even some cases of prison guards abusing their authority and sodomizing the

inmates.

This is a cruel and unforgivable form of punishment that actually occurs a lot more than you would

think.

Hog tying and other forms of physical torture make it into number 9.

Hog tying looks like this, your wrists and ankles are tied together.

This is extremely uncomfortable and many times, prisoners are left like this for hours.

There are even situations where mentally ill patients would be tied up like this naked

and denied water and food for hours.

They are also left to stand, sit or lie naked in their own feces or urine and they are denied

shower privileges for days.

Number 8 brings us to Force fed drugs.

There was a very controversial and highly secretive government program that basically

revolved around trying to control people's minds.

The scientists involved with this program decided it would be a good idea to test the

effects of LSD on unsuspecting prison inmates because they figured no one cares what happens

to inmates.

So they gave LSD to inmates would couldn't fight back and they wouldn't tell them what

the drug was.

In one case, a mental patient was doped with LSD for 174 days straight.

Nutraloaf comes into number 7.

We've all heard that prison food is terrible but this is arguably one of the most disgusting

"food" that has ever been given to another human being.

I mean this is basically the worst thing that prisons can legally give the prisoners without

it constituting as abuse.

Sure, it has all of the nutrients that your body needs to survive but apparently it is

super disgusting.

The prisoners get to choose between a week of Nutraloaf meals or spend a week in solitary

confinement.

Most of them pick solitary confinement.

Next up in at number 6 is almost Beaten to death.

There have been many reports of prisoners being drastically abused by the prison guards

almost to the point that they are unrecognizable.

Sometimes there are corrupt correctional officers that will allow gangs or other inmates to

beat each other almost to the point of death or they will take the prisoner away from the

cameras and do it themselves.

Solitary confinement makes it into number 5.

This is probably the worst form of psychological torture.

No one wants to be sent to the hole.

Prisoners in solitary spend 22-24 hours a day in a small cell with barely any human

contact.

Many inmates spend years or even decades cut off from any real social interaction.

This extreme isolation can permanently affect their emotional and mental health.

They quickly become paranoid and more prone to violence and hallucinations.

Albert Woodfox spent 43 years in solitary confinement, so I guess you could say that

he was tortured for over 4 decades.

Number 4 brings us to White noise torture.

This is the sound that you get when you don't tune your device to the correct channel.

Here it is.

This is probably one of the most annoying sounds in the world so just imagine if you

were forced to listen to this for long periods of time.

You'd probably go insane and be so sleep deprived.

Tiger cages are in at number 3.

This cruel and unusual form of punishment is absolutely terrifying.

Some prisons will use tiger cages for punishing the prisoners.

These cages are made out of barbed wire and they have just enough space for the prisoners

to lie or sit.

In these cages, the prison guards will torment the prisoner by pouring cold water on them

at night, pouring salt water into or lighting a fire near the tiger cages during hot days.

Number 2 takes us to Cancer injections.

Back in the 1950's scientists wanted to inject prisoners with cancer to study how

their bodies would react.

Even though all of the prisoners were volunteers, I'm sure they weren't told how dangerous

and life threatening this experiment would be.

They were probably told that they would get time reduced off of their sentence or compensated.

Either way, this is very immoral and highly unethical.

Finally in at number 1 we have Being left to die.

Sometimes when a criminal commits an extremely awful crime, there are certain police officers

that try to take justice into their own hands.

There was a case of one man named Adolph Archie who shot and murdered a police officer.

Well, he was in need of medical attention himself because he had been shot but instead

of sending him to the hospital, they brought him to jail and within a few hours he was

dead.

All of his teeth were shattered, his skull was fractured and he had severe hemorrhaging

in his testicles.

So he had been beaten to death by an angry mob of police officers and I bet this wasn't

the first time that something like this happened.

Well there you guys have it

Trying my new products! | First Impressions - Duration: 12:39.

hello my name is Brinia welcome to my channel so today I have first

impressions of all these new products that I have I went to alter these past

weekend and I picked up a few of the new part of the UM I picked up the new third

foundation and the concealer and just like a few things so I'm just gonna try

everything also I'm gonna try the the new white peach palette by Too Faced

then my boyfriend got me for Valentine's Day so yeah so if you're interested in

seeing how all this product is performing just keep on watching I'm

gonna use the Mac prep and prime one I've never used this I can't taste I

think it was an Ipsy you can tell I think it's an industry because of the

teeny tiny little samples so let's prime our faces it feels really cool and nice

doesn't feel if you attack greasy I think in my opinion but my face

sometimes can be a little weird so I purchased the the third shape the tart

double duty Beauty shaped a foundation the shave tape I got the hydrating

foundation I'm in the shade medium sin it matches me really well so I was

surprised for that because I went with a friend of mine third was having this

event but like I don't listen do at all that the only thing that they weren't

doing it was like color matching but they do that every time so I just took

this that made me go early so I had to go I have to take up

maybe I don't like too much about this is I have to double dip and triple dip

to get the foundation let's do it I love this foundation like so far um it

feels really nice to the skin he has like this hydrating feeling this stuff

like cool feeling it feels like I have nothing on my face right now like at all

any balance like a dream I also got the shape tape my torch I'm in the shade

apparently light/medium honey um I've never used this before my goal to go see

this is thicker well obviously I think it dries a little bit faster than the

foundation it's not bad like it blends really nice I'm gonna set my foundation

um I got this from Joey it's their translucent powder I really like it it's

not like powdery so that although also picked up these brushes they're by Real

Techniques how pretty are they I just love them I'm gonna be using the white

peach palette by Too Faced this usually looks like this

I will i swatched them a little bit it smells so good um I've heard like

mixed reviews online about people saying that they had a lot a lot of fallout and

he does like like when you see Emily that's a lot like it doesn't really

bother me like it's not like it's making a mess or anything this thing is most

amazing so I'm gonna use bitch suede my crease I'm gonna use peach sorbet it's a

little lighter he's gonna like drag it up a little bit I'm just gonna look a

little quick I look I'm just to see how the palate performs this on the grill is

a black matte color I'm just gonna put like yes a tiny bit and the corner just

to blend it and blend it really well just to add a little bit of dimension

I'm just gonna put a little bit of glistening peach my all over my lid I'm

gonna use peaches and dreams a little bit on the bottom eyelashes line I go

with which Peach Smoothie and sweet fig okay that's pretty like I'm Tamara maybe

you cannot see it that well I would really want to dispel it because I just

want a night I love this color like I love pink Szalai purples and then

this is like a pilot that I can take on vacation and like

and just take this use the who that one I'm gonna use their it smells everything

so that's pretty that's it looks like a drink I'm gonna try these by physician

formula so far like I have everything kind of like high-end but I have this

that I play I won on the giveaway so it looks so pretty like oh boy ooh gives

you a nice glow I like you I don't know it would if we was the the reaction of

the the base lip the Mac prep the prime and the tart one because I've I tried

the third one with this then we got into Boston charm also and it was like

flawless but this one is I feel like he looks a little weird around the nose I

always had that problem when it's like dry so I guess like what the third thing

I will have to use the look illuminizer primer note to self

what look cold in here Oh for blush I'm gonna use

the NARS adoration you will intensity blush he looks like this I thought was

gonna be like like really intense but it's not it's like a really nice pinky

color see the other side the other side is more like a more uh but a highlighter

blush is really pretty and really like it so the theme a mental thing I'm gonna

use this dumb this highlighter by Trista Trista

it's called Maldives luminescent um it looks like this

so for mascara I'm gonna use your show show maybe your this is how the brush

looks like really fluffy I like the formula we just once swipe

like my eyelashes look long the only thing is like why they have to make that

if that brush so big like who has eyes like that oh oh okay the next thing and

for the lips I'm just gonna use they your lactic Beauty the matte lip paint

we got this honor but the charm I've never haven't use it and this is the

color demure amazing it smells so good it smells like him I kind of like a

dessert chocolatey something so good with one dip I give the whole lips and

he had like a really nice coverage mmm oh my god I love this thing okay so

that's it um the only thing I was in like a big huge fan and it was I think

it was user error it was the physician for mother the

bronzer booster this was a lot like maybe maybe after I go on vacation and I

was and I tell myself then this we've worked really well but like I went all

in with it so now like my face I don't think like it matches that well my mind

like the rest of my body so I don't know but like my favorite I love the

foundation I know a lot of people have been having trouble finding their Shana

my friend the one with me to alter they had to make two foundations to find her

shade and she's just like a teeny tiny a little bit like Tanner that mean this

wasn't like a baby but it will suck like to buy two of

these because this is not cute yeah I like I liked it a lot

the hydrating one um the shape tape I like it

the mic prep and prime I was like it didn't give me that like radians

Kubo that they claim to have like the hoola bronzer a benefit that i think is

like so good it blends like butter I really like it they do a translucent

powder I really like it also it's not chalky or

at all maybe or must turn you know it's good I mean like with one thing like my

eyelashes like long so that's good justic I always am obsessed with this

brand like I love it the lactic the matte paint is my paint amazing this was

like my favorite like he feels so comfortable like so good um and the

white Beach um it smells so good

the thing is like it has a lot of kick kick back they're really easy to blend

that's a good thing maybe because of my my skin colors I'm some of them they

don't show they don't show up look at my skin that much but you can

always build it up so that's good the black one blends amazingly like I just

liked a little bit and he blends like really nice my least favorite was peach

ice is this white one here like this is how I like on the finger

it looks like nice okay so yep that was everything for today um don't forget to

like don't forget to subscribe and I'll see you guys on another occasion

Beauty In Decay: Found GIANT Abandoned Factory With Computers Left Behind - Urbex Lost Places Italy - Duration: 10:02.

Previously on Broken Window Theory:

In July we spent ten days in Italy to explore the most beautiful abandoned buildings of the country.

We started at an old military base from the times of the Cold War.

Here we met our crew for the road trip:

Together with The Proper People and the Italian photographer tobi_urbex

we spent the first night in this building complex.

After the breakfast we drove down to the valley where we had discovered this impressive dead mine.

But this was only the beginning of our most memorable urbex adventure to date!

It's still day one of our urbex road trip in Italy.

And we have nearly reached the third and final abandoned place for today.

It's already evening.

But luckily, the summer days in Italy are wonderfully long and bright.

So we have some hours left to explore this next place during daylight.

And we will definitely need this time.

Because a big factory is awaiting us.

No, "big" is an understatement.

It's massive!

Actually it's one of the most tremendous abandoned sites we have visited so far.

By now the vast building complex has become the home of several illegal refugees.

We are not sure if we should enter the halls at all.

After all we have a lot of expensive equipment with us.

Actually, we feel quite uneasy at this point.

But as adventurers every new exploration is a leap in the dark.

So, here we go again.

The factory consists of several seemingly endless halls.

Apparently, we are lucky.

We don't see any other people in here.

Expectedly, they won't come back until it is getting dark.

So we have the property to ourselves for at least a few more hours.

Today, all the halls are mostly emptied out and it's hard to see what was produced here back then

when the place was still active.

But our research revealed that this used to be a cotton spinning mill.

In the past all these halls probably looked like this.

Packed up to the roof with big machines!

This photo was taken in another cotton mill but it was part of the same company as this one.

Several centuries ago a lot of these sites were built by one single family

that used to be the biggest domestic cotton producers for some time.

Today there isn't much left of this empire.

Nowadays you can find plenty of giant abandoned factories all over Italy

which are the last remains of the former major corporation.

Even though the spacious factory halls are very impressive

they weren't the reason why we came here in the first place.

On our journey through abandoned Italy

we are searching for the most beautiful natural decay.

And according to rumors we should make such a find in the old office tower at the edge of the compound.

We are wishing for some real urbex highlights right now.

Obviously, the roof of the multistory building is leaking.

Nearly everywhere it's dripping from the ceiling.

The condition of the building stock has become that bad that the water is soaking through every single floor

– from the top to the bottom of the tower.

But this is actually accelerating the decay we're looking for.

On the contrary to the factory halls apparently everything was left behind here.

Hundreds - from today's view - ancient computers are rotting away in the offices.

Even older devices can be found here.

If you want to see more of those photos make sure to visit tobi_urbex on Instagram.

He was our guide on the road trip through Northern Italy

and you can find photos of the most amazing Italian abandonments on his page.

It seems like people left this place in a hurry.

But according to our sources the factory was shut down by the government.

The reason: This place was responsible for a massive environmental pollution.

We will go into detail in just a bit.

But at first let's look around the administration building a little longer.

Next to computers and documents there are also some samples left behind.

Especially printed fabric was produced here in the past.

As mentioned earlier this multiple hectare big compound

was part of a nationwide operating family enterprise.

In the 19th century production started in the first factory.

The company could expand really quickly and in its heyday the business had a significant impact on the economic growth of the country.

On world exhibitions the enterprise proudly presented its fabrics.

But due to the high costs of all the branches and a huge drop in sales

the permanent closure of all the facilities was inevitable in the early 2000s.

In the end the company became bankrupt.

But at that point this particular factory has already been decommissioned for years.

Some years ago it was already discussed how to proceed with this abandoned factory in the future.

A part of the building complex was supposed to be retained.

But in a citizens' forum people decided to transform the site to a pleasure ground.

A big pond should also become part of the public garden.

But apparently this is more difficult than expected.

Due to dangerous waste the ground water is contaminated

which is the reason why the site was shut down in the first place.

To be able to start the soil cleaning the former thermal power plant was knocked down recently.

But since a lot of asbestos was used during the construction of all the buildings,

the demolition is a new risk to the environment now.

So the recovery measures have been rather sluggish.

But in a few years this whole place is going to become the green haven the citizens are wishing for.

But let's be honest: From the outside it might not look like it but from the inside it's a green haven already.

At least for urban explorers like us.

Next time on Broken Window Theory:

On day two of our road trip we reached this enormous compound.

It's not totally abandoned, so we had to sneak over the property really carefully.

This is one of the many abandoned asylums of Italy.

At first we wanted to skip this place.

But during our exploration we were overwhelmed

by the numerous magnificent abandoned houses we could find.

Over the past weeks and months we gathered a lot of new followers on all of our platforms.

Thank you guys so much for joining our adventures!

We have big plans for the future.

But in order to execute them we need your help!

Feel free to check out our page on Patreon to learn more about us and our project BWT.

You want to keep your abs as engaged as you can and just try to catch your knees like come here. Come here

Come here. There you go

This workout is so fun. And so amazing. I am super duper excited to do all of it with you. It's gonna be great

It's going to be great next up or doing rocking squats

You're in a quarter squat position and you're just gently rocking from side to side

Make sure your abs stay engaged and ask you sway from side to side. You are squeezing those butt cheeks

We're not here for the games. We are here to slay. Let's go

Good this is good. Okay hip openers abs are still engaged to keep you balanced

You can hold on to something if you need to but raise your knees as high as you possibly

Can and make big circles with your legs, we really want to make sure your hips are

Activated and just ready to work we have work to do today

Now give me a couple jumping jacks

If you don't want to jump you can just step from side to side and still do your arm motions

But this is to get your heart rate pumping get your whole body warm get all your joints ready to move

Good keep going

You look good

Okay

Go into wide squats put your legs as wide as you can and just drop that booty to the floor go as low as you

can manage but just do your best it's just the warmup so you don't have to do the most just yet when it's time to

Do the most I will let you know and we will do the most together

Okay, finally we're doing leg sweeps abs are engaged and you just sweep one leg at a time

Good

This gets both your inner thigh and your outer thigh and that side booty area, yes

Also

Our first move here is hip drives

you're a kneeling position and you're going to squeeze your booty to go up into that kneeling position once you go down if that's

Bothers your knees do glute bridges instead

Abs are engaged and you're squeezing your

Booty to go into that upward and kneeling position again if your knees are, you know?

Like most of our knees tend to get a certain age

Don't do this do glute bridges instead. Those are a bit more gentle on your knees and you still get to activate your booty

Activate your booty booty activate your booty. You look good. Keep going

Almost there

Put some swag into it. I like it

That was awesome next up we have donkey kicks. You're going to get on all fours

Keep your abs engaged and just extend your leg. We're going should you focus on one leg and then switch to the other leg?

Okay, let's do it when you're doing this

Don't worry about doing it fast the slower you do it the better because when you're doing it

Really slow it increases the amount of time that the muscle is working and that's a good thing

Good. Keep going

You want to make this super intense don't even let your knee rest when you pull it back in oh go ahead switch

Go ahead and switch legs

so busy talking ko ko ko

Yes, if you want this to be even more intense

Don't let your knees rest when you pull it back in just hover and extend it again by your up those glutes

You are killing this workout you're so good

Okay, you're going to do fire hydrants next our favorite exercise abs engage AUP. I'm sorry. You raise your knee

Raise your knee

Why does this exercise look like this who?

Invented this exercise. I need to know. All right, let's start with one leg

This is a great exercise for your side booty

That hip dip area. There's nothing wrong with hip dips

I really just feel like I should say that out loud

But if that's an area you want to target this is one of those exercises that does a great job of targeting that area

You're doing good. Okay, go ahead and switch your legs and do the other side as well

We want balance

You don't want one side of your booty to be looking like peachy and just mmm and then the other side to be like

left out

We are inclusive around here. We include both butt cheeks in all exercises. Okay?

Awesome, okay, we're going to do leg out pulses

These are like fire hydrants except now your leg is straight to the side

We want to hammer out this muscle

Till I can do no more keep your abs engaged and do your best to just keep your back and your core stable

As

Much as possible. The only thing that should be moving right now is your legs that can be a bit tricky, but you got this

Do your best if you find it really difficult to keep your legs extended and raised you can do another round of fire hydrants

It's okay. Go ahead and switch legs and do the same thing on the other side

and then the more you do this workout the easier it gets for you and you will eventually be able to

Stretch your legs out and do the fancy stuff

Keep going

Can I just say stretch your legs out Wow Wow

Now we have our favorite they were exercised glute breeches core is engaged

You are squeezing your booty to go up and you're trying to keep your heel

Under your knee

Are you ready? Let's go after this you have one more exercise

One more you get a break. This is going by so fast and you are doing such an amazing job. It's unbelievable do your best

You don't have to do the entire timer. I'm just reminding you you can take a quick break, you know

Nobody is judging. You. Just do your best you're showing up

You're doing great

Do your best push through it push through you got this you got this you can do this

squeeze

squeeze squeeze

I wish that were my job just to tell people squeeze squeeze squeeze

You're doing amazing

Okay

Last exercise before the break glute bridge hold you were just going to hold in that glute bridge position

Your ankles directly underneath your knee abs engaged booty clinched and you just stay there

It's like a squat hold except it's a glute bridge

Just hold in that position if you need to release briefly and get back into it you can do that but challenge yourself

This is the last exercise before the break just hold it

Hold it in that position

Look at the ceiling think of the stars the moon the Sun

Think about how hard you're working right now to reach your goal and how awesome it will be when you reach your goal

Just imagine yourself at the finish line. You can do this

You are showing up and you are strong you is smart you is

gracious

Coco, why are you twitching? It's almost impossible to stay still for me. Have you noticed? Yeah there

Push Your limits with these 6 steps - Duration: 3:55.

Push your limits with these six steps

Successful people are those who push their limits by constantly raising their bar that

defines their comfort zone to achieve greatness among others.

So, today we will talk about a few steps you can take to maximize your chances of massive

success so you can live your ideal life.

Number one.

Always face your fears.

Your fears will always get on your way and create unnecessary drama in life.

It is time to get rid of them, by making a list of all the things you are afraid of.

Yes, even the smallest things like spiders and towards the largest of the reasons like

financial insecurities.

Take one fear at a time and try to deal with it by developing a strategy to counter those

fears or you can always pursue professional support for such complicated matters.

Number two.

You don't have to be perfect.

Imperfection is a part of human nature.

It is pretty much impossible to be perfect according to unrealistic expectations generated

by overthinking and ridiculously high standards you set upon yourself.

Stop focusing on and spending too much energy on presenting a perfect image to others,

You should always learn to be yourself and accept others for who they are.

Then everyone else will accept you freely for who you are.

Number three.

Seek a partnership.

Some endeavors cannot be accomplished without taking massive risks that will never give

you peace of mind.

But, a partnership with a trustworthy person can help you to minimize that situation by

sharing risks involved with it.

This will also give you the chance to reap the rewards together and more opportunities

to reinvest as partners for even more success.

Partnerships are also known to have the greatest rewards, so choose your partner carefully.

Number four.

Visualize your success.

Take some time off when you are free to imagine your success when you take some risks.

Dream big when you get the chance, and this will allow your mind to stay in one mindset

that continuously keeps you motivated to work harder.

Do not waste every time dreaming, but visualizing your success wouldn't be a problem if you

do not imagine all the time when you work hard to achieve your goals.

Number five.

Make more successful friends.

Your friends will have a massive effect on your success as well.

Sometimes your level of success and motivation will be based entirely on whom you are friends with.

If you waste time being friends with people who demotivate you and pull you down to the

level they are at, you will have a tough time finding success.

But, if you make more friends who are likeminded and who seek ways to improve and become better!

You will have better chances of being successful.

Choose your new friends wisely.

Number six as the last on our list.

Learn to let go.

Do not let fear of the unknown pose threats to keep you away from achieving success.

Let go of your unrealistic expectations and take calculated risks.

You might have lost few turns in the past, but it is all a part of success and learning

to forget about the fears of failure.

If you do not try, you will never have the chances to become successful.

Your losses will be your biggest lessons and only take the experiences and knowledge from them.

This list concludes our video on being a person to push their limits.

This animated video should be able to make you understand why you should be willing to

take risks to become successful.

Thank you very much for watching this video and see you again with another video soon,

take care.

Oborozuki/Hazy Moon ✦ English Cover【Mom0ki】朧月 - Duration: 4:18.

Rain falls overhead, my cheeks painted red

I've not a clue of how true love begins and ends

Oh, if only I could bathe in moonlight

And turn a pure white once again

Pleasant days with you fill up my memories of the past

Dream-like, they faded much to fast

For whom shall I dance tonight, I wonder, gazing in red lights

Yes indeed, I'm the hazy moon veiled in the night

May the end of this vermilion thread lead back into his arms

May it lead me to my fate, soon I pray

Captivating and beautiful landscapes

Draw people in, from miles they'll come just to escape

Just as beautifully, this flower's blooming

One mace and they've the night with me

As the curtain's drawn, I feel a stranger's breathing on my skin

But for now, please leave me to blossom undefiled

I must give into the shadows, have my petals torn away

May their faces fade away from my mind

The temari I held close to me

Tumbled down, as if running away from me

"I'm begging you..."

"Don't leave me all alone here!"

My pleas get lost in night...

"How I love you, how I love you" my whispers echo through

But my hopes just keep drifting further 'way from me

As the snow piles relentlessly upon this heart of mine

I'll bloom underneath the frost

And return to his side, to the life I lost

I'm the lovely maiden blooming with red lights

Yes indeed, I'm the hazy moon veiled in the night

May the end of this vermilion thread lead back into his arms

May it save me from this fate, soon I pray

I can't change what's yet to come

Vows won't change the real outcome

Glowing 'neath the silver moon

Is Teen Titans 2003 As Great As We Remember? - Part 3 | A Complete Review of OG Teen Titans - Duration: 13:36.

Before moving on to season 2 of Teen Titans, I want to take a step back and

look at episode five of season 1 again, the episode where cyborg gets taken by Fixit.

I want to talk about this because many people have left comments that are

pretty critical of my interpretation of that episode and those criticisms

connected with me. Basically, I think I misunderstood what the episode was

trying to show us. While the episodes previous episode 5 were attempting to

display some sort of change in character that results in a different dynamic

between the Titans, episode 5 itself isn't as much concerned with that.

Instead, it's focused on a change within Cyborg that, though it does have some

sort of impact on his relationships, has a much larger impact on himself and thus

happens to have an impact on some people around him. This episode is meant to get

one major point across: sometimes Cyborg wishes that he didn't

have his robotic body or, at the least, he is heavily inconvenienced by his robotic

body. So when Fixit traps him and is going to make him completely robotic, it's what

Cyborg would fear the most: to lose his human side. While I do think that the

Mumbo sections of this episode are unfortunately quite disconnected from

the central conflict, the show does a pretty good job of exploring this

conflict in and of itself. In the beginning, Cyborg's reception to this kid

with the prosthetic arm is lukewarm at best, but by the end Cyborg is

encouraging and embracing this connection between them. All this is to

say that I didn't give the episode nearly enough credit because I

misunderstood it on a fundamental level, when in reality it really does show us

quite a bit about Cyborg's character, about his deepest fears and about how

he's going to work through those fears. I want to thank all the people who took

the time to give me their interpretation of the episode. Part of the fun with

these long series I do is that we can discuss our differences in opinion or

understanding and hopefully come to an overall greater appreciation of the show

being discussed. Now, with this in mind, one way that I think episode 5 could

have improved is by showing us at least a bit about how Cyborg received his

robotic half. This isn't because I think we necessarily need to see that for this

episode to make sense or anything like that,

but because it could have led to this episode's overarching narrative having a

greater impact. Just imagine if instead of some of these scenes being with Mumbo,

we saw a bit of Cyborg when he was younger, getting used to his robotic half,

trying to understand it and sometimes hating it. Then this moment when he talks

to a younger person would also be him talking to his past self, telling himself

that his robotic body is fine, even if it's sometimes obnoxious

or an inconvenience. So with that out of the way, let's move on to

season 2. And season 2 starts off great because how long is forever delivers on

an interesting premise in an emotionally impactful and exciting manner. The first

great thing about this episode is how its structured thematically. Everything

comes back to time: Robin believes that they will be friends forever; Starfire is

concerned about the way they treat one another and how that could affect their

relationships in the future; and Warp has come from the future to steal this clock.

While the way these themes tie together is by no means subtle, it creates a

density of meaning that is established early on in the episode and then

capitalized on as the episode continues. By seeing the Titans' future selves, we

are able to see how their greatest weaknesses would affect them in the long

term if their friendships fell apart. The robotic part of Cyborg's body stops

him from doing anything at all beyond roaming around the tower; his battery has

effectively always run out. Beast Boy was unable to do the whole solo hero thing,

despite the pride he has exhibited in previous episodes, and he's now let

himself become a circus attraction; just as he so often wanted to be the center

of attention in previous episodes, he's the center of attention now - but in a way

that is entirely negative and extremely damaging to himself.

Raven, meanwhile, is completely isolated from everything even from the outside

world; she's entirely alone. Robin, on the other hand, has become more like Slade, or

at least that seems to be what the episode is hinting at with how these

clock parts come in and just the overall layout of Robin's new lair. Both of these

things establish connections with Slade's own living space in season 1, so

actually the show is basically doing what I had hoped it would do in season 1.

An extension of this is that Robin works on his own now; he doesn't have teammates.

However, even after all this, the friends clearly want to be together as they've

never gotten rid of these devices before that let them know when they need to

help each other out, when they need to stop crime or some bad person who's

gonna hurt people. So when Robin calls them to action, they

come, even after it seems that they've so completely drifted apart. What a powerful

way to sell their friendship, to show how much they care about one another. They

didn't need to keep these devices. They didn't need to come. And this is an

amazing way of also showing how Starfire is at the center of this group, that

she's integral to them getting along with one another in the long term.

After all, without her there, this happens - but when she appears they come back

together. It's the best episode so far and I've heard many say in the comments

that this is their favorite episode or one of their favorite episodes in the

whole series, and I can definitely see why. And the next episode is also really

good and does a similarly fantastic job of tying together its themes with pretty

much all elements of its plot, which results in what is easily the best Beast

Boy centric episode yet. In this episode, Beast Boy's friends are all busy or just

doing their own things, so they don't have time or simply don't want to do

something with him at that particular moment.

This makes Beast Boy a bit upset, so he decides to go out and, when he's out,

he sees these ladies and tries to hit on them. After hitting on them is

unsuccessful to say the least, he tries to turn into a dog because, you know,

ladies like dogs - but they reject him and, instead of attracting the attention he

wanted, he attracts the attention of this big ol baby manchild guy named Soto,

who mistakes Beast Boy for his dog. This episode works really well as a

cautionary tale. Despite how innocent it may seem, Beast Boy was attempting to

manipulate these girls into giving him attention and, by doing so, he only ended

up getting attention from someone abusive and psychotic and he enters into

a relationship that is hard to escape from. The lesson seems to be that one

shouldn't try to use tricks to manipulate people into spending time

with them, that they shouldn't be disingenuous in order to be able to

engage with someone else because that will likely only get you attention from

someone who you really don't want to spend time with in the long term. In

addition to this the fact that this episode follows "How Long is Forever" is

great. After all, we've just seen a version of Beast Boy who wants this

attention and gets it, but it hurts him a lot and this shows how this is a

fundamental character flaw that he needs to work through. On top of all this is

the fact that it's a fun, well-directed episode. I particularly like how the

scenes where the Titans are trying to trap Soto's dog are handled. They're

dynamic, entertaining, funny, and just a great time overall. In fact, this whole

episode is a great time. Fortunately, this show keeps up with the solid episodes

and delivers another one with episode 3, "Terra." As one might expect, this

episode focuses on Terra and it manages to establish the foundational elements

of her character in a short period of time.

First off, Terra is incredibly insecure but also very quick to grow close to

people and expect lots from them. She immediately makes herself at home in the

Titans' Tower and then very quickly expects Beast Boy to keep the secret

that her powers aren't completely under her control. Yet this makes sense, as her

powers have resulted in terrible things happening wherever she goes and she

hasn't had a home for a long time. So when that's provided to her, when she

sees that she might be able to have this and have friends, why wouldn't she

aggressively jump at the opportunity? Why wouldn't she quickly accept this

kindness and also take it as seriously as possible ? Secondly, the episode's

imagery is on point. Terra and Beast Boy throws stones across this pond together

and gain an important bond while doing so, then at the end of the episode Beast

Boy throws a stone and the water ripples through the reflection of Titans' Tower, a

powerful way of showing that Terra and her abilities are going to have an

incredible impact on the Titans later in the season. Thirdly, Terra is put in the

worst possible situation in this episode, with Slade purposefully choosing to

attack a mine and then provoking her. We're never told that this is why Slade

chose this place, but it's pretty clear and allowing the audience to piece this

together themselves is gratifying to say the least.

Furthermore, it allows us to see just how important Beast Boy's relationship with

her has become, despite how little time they've known each other, because he's

able to help calm her down. He believes in her. All she needs is that. Someone to

trust her and help her control her powers and who won't in any way betray

her trust. Unfortunately, she's as quick to distrust people as she is to trust

them and, when Robin mentions that she has trouble controlling her powers, she

assumes Beast Boy's betrayed her trust. Of course, from an outside perspective,

it's clear that this would be obvious. How wouldn't anyone have noticed what

was going on? But Terra doesn't see it that way and that's just how insecure

she is. All this is to say that, although I'm sure her actions in this episode and

in later episodes are frustrating to some viewers, the writers did a really

good job of getting her actions to make sense and to be consistent. The writers

establish that she's insecure then show how damaging that insecurity can be.

Really that's what her character is about throughout the show: a battle with

herself, a battle between the side that loathes herself so much that she can't

believe anyone else would ever care for her or trust her and the side that

believes in herself and those around her. Of course, after she leaves, there are a

number of episodes that don't involve her. In this case, I think it makes sense

to take a break from the overarching plot of this season because having a gap

between when she leaves and when she returns is necessary, considering that

she's meant to have been trained within that time and to have undergone a major

change in character. The next episode, while in my opinion not quite as strong

as the previous three, is really sweet. In it, Cyborg starts off believing

that his robotic parts determine how strong he can be - but in the

end he realizes that he can push past those supposed limits because he's still

human. While this is an internal struggle within Cyborg the show uses an external

conflict to amplify his emotions and to give more weight to his change. Atlas, the

main villain of this episode, is here to reflect Cyborg's robotic half while

Atlas's mechanic reflects Cyborg's human half. Atlas shows us what Cyborg could be

like if he rejected or mistreated his human half, if he decided that it wasn't

all that important and what happens is that, well, Atlas loses. He needs to

accept and respect the human in order to win, but he doesn't while Cyborg does. In

addition to this, Cyborg's allies trust him deeply and are willing to put their

freedom on the line for him. So he doesn't just have his human parts; he has

his friends too, those humans who are there for him, rooting for him, and

believe in him. Episode 5 continues the string of

back-to-back good episodes with the introduction of Control Freak. Now, I

don't recall ever seeing this guy as a kid, but I'm disappointed that I missed him

because he's awesome. Even just from his introduction, I can tell that much. I love

how he's clearly motivated by petty things and how he wants to be the Titans'

nemesis, too - both things that make it quite clear how bloated his ego and sense of

self-importance are. In line with this is how he prances around when he makes

things come to life with his remote. Everything about him oozes personality.

He's just a fabulous boy. I'm definitely excited to see more of him in the

upcoming seasons and I hope that he takes on a role of greater importance.

Beyond this, this episode focuses on how Raven represses her emotions and on the

way that this repression can cause bad things to happen. On a more symbolic

level, this episode is about the fact that denying our emotions generally

isn't the best option and can lead to people around us - the people we care

about - being hurt in the long run. The show has a fun way of going about this,

as Raven accidentally whips up a whole bunch of these evil creatures from a

monster movie using her abilities and the show takes on a huge tonal shift and

really commits to the scary movie vibe. When a show is sometimes episodic like

this one, I tend to enjoy when it commits to different styles of narrative or to

different genres across episodes. It helps make each episode unique so that

plots don't blend together or become too same-y, which in turn helps justify a

narrative structure that often focuses on short stories that are loosely

connected rather than a consistent, overarching narrative.

Unfortunately, episode 6 is the first episode I'm not particularly fond of. In

it, this girl Kitten really wants to go out on a date with Robin

and, unless he does, her dad is going to try and destroy the entire city. My main

problem with this episode is that, although the premise is so ridiculous

that it starts off quite funny, we are essentially seeing the same joke over and

over again. Basically, Kitten will say something to Robin, Starfire will get

enraged, and Robin will get uncomfortable. About halfway through the episode this got

really stale to me. Now this wasn't as big a problem as it could have been

because there are sections with Beast Boy, Raven, and Cyborg that barely focus

on these jokes but this episode still hits that same joke too many times. This

one also has moments where it commits to a particular genre, kind of like the last

one. In this case that's a romance flick, though, and that commitment does add some

humor to the whole situation. The next episode similarly commits to a

particular narrative format, that being a fairy tale. In this, Starfire starts

mutating into an ugly creature, getting growths on her head that look like

something out of FLCL and becoming almost Sasquatch-like in

appearance. It's a very clear-cut metaphor for puberty. After her

transformation has begun she runs away from her friends and encounters this

evil individual who at first looks very pretty, but then later reveals the uglier

side of herself when she goes to eat Starfire. Now I'm not sure if the writers

first decided on the narrative framework of this episode and then wrote out the

plot from there, or if they came up with the plot first and then decided on the

narrative framework - but either way it makes a lot of sense to format this as a

fairy tale. After all, it's a pretty typical plot that's found in those sorts

of stories, particularly those that were made as moral tales for young girls, so

it makes quite a bit of sense to open up with this story book getting cracked

open and with a narrator talking to us. Again, I appreciate how thoroughly the

team is committing to a different style of storytelling here. It really gives off

the sense that they're having a lot of fun experimenting and, even if I had some

gripes with the previous episode, it certainly keeps the viewer on their toes.

One unfortunate side effect of this narrative structure, however, at least for

an older viewer, is that every beat of the story is very predictable. Honestly

though, if you're all right with a 20 minute long episode of television being

a bit predictable, there isn't that much to complain about here. We're offered

some solid development for Starfire, we get to see Titans fighting a villain

from a previous episode, and we get to see how far the Titans are willing to go

to help their friend. It's an entertaining episode of

television overall and another good episode in season 2, even if it's not my

favorite of the bunch. And next up is another Terra episode, but I think I'll

be saving that for next time. Once again, I want to thank everyone for watching

and for keeping up with this series. It's greatly appreciated and my channel has

seen an insane amount of growth from this series and, you know, that's all

because you have been watching and you're commenting and engaging with it

so much and I appreciate that a lot. I also specifically want to thank my

patrons over on patreon dot com. From the bottom of my heart, I'm just so thankful

for them and what they give me. I hope you have an awesome day Bye bye.
