times in one day you want the best for your for your guys who compete for you
and you want them in the right frame of mind so if there's some problem you're
gonna deal with it that plain and simple so again I can only tell you what the
truth is and the truth is every single coach with the wrestling program when I
was there said the exact same thing I've said and so many wrestlers have come
forward and said the exact same thing and the reason they all do that is
because it's the truth all right so you don't believe this
shouldn't be an issue for you or whether you you would be open to leading
Republicans in the house well I think more importantly my colleagues don't
believe it I've talked to all kinds of my colleagues and everyone sees through
this story they understand it's just not accurate just not true and they they
understand what what I've told them that to be the truth so that's that's the
most important thing what we're focused on doing is as I've said before Neal we
always make this job a Congress way too complicated it's pretty darn simple what
did you tell the American people you were going to do when they gave you the
privilege to go serve them let's focus on that let's focus on taking on the
swamp let's help President Trump do that he's
certainly been doing it let's help him more so we can accomplish the things
that we were sent to Washington to accomplish so if you'll just indulge me
one more time sir did Mark Coleman contact you to say that he was going to
clarify recant those comments I just I've not talked to mr. Coleman and since
this since this whole thing broke I've not spoke with him the entire time
okay I want to go on to other news developments today as you probably heard
the FBI as fired Peter struck over those texts what do you think about that it's
about time I mean the American people deserve an FBI that's not biased that
they deserve an FBI that's going to focus on the truth obviously Peter
struck wasn't that individual and I think it's important to understand he
just wasn't any old agent at the FBI he was deputy head of counterintelligence
more importantly he was the lead agent on both the Clinton investigation and on
the Trump Russia investigation so you now have at the FBI Neal something I've
never seen in any federal agency James Comey fire deputy director McCabe fired
Jim rebecky former chief of staff left the FBI Jim Baker chief counsel at
the FBI was demoted then fired lisa page FBI counsel demoted then left and then
of course you now have Peter struck who was demoted and now fired today these
are the six key key people at the top of the FBI who ran the Clinton
investigation and who launched and ran the Trump Russia investigation I've
never seen anything like that in any other federal agency you know a
structured Turney he said that his clients firing was politically motivated
that his texts were unfairly taken advantage of that it they're protected
by the First Amendment and that was political free speech you say I say come
on this is the guy said we'll stop Trump this is the guy said we need an
insurance policy this is a guy who thought he was the James Bond of the FBI
the super secret agent man so come on that just doesn't fly the American
people understand it and frankly what we learned last week Neal from these email
exchanges between Bruce or a top official at the Justice Department and
Christopher Steele the guy who wrote the dossier I mean the this is amazing what
we learned last week where the Clinton campaign hires Fuzion GPS to produce the
dossier Fuzion hires Nellie or Bruce ORS wife Bruce or then takes the dossier and
gives it to the FBI it is never supposed to operate that way in this great
country but that in fact is exactly what happened and we got this confirmed just
a few weeks ago when Peter struck was in front of our committee and on the third
round of questioning I finally got him to admit yes
the FBI was getting the dossier from Bruce or whose wife was working for the
Oppo research firm the Clintons hired that's what was going on here and then
this is as wrong as it gets and now the lawyer from for Peter struck is saying
oh he shouldn't have been fired you got to be kidding me
he should have been fired a long time ago and thankfully it happened today you
know a lot of your colleagues are saying it's reason enough for the Bob Muller
investigation to be disbanded others say that it's best for the president not to
comment on this matter at all what do you say well here's what I know what a
year and a half into this investigation or in 1314 months into this
investigation there is still not one bit of
about any type of coordination collusion or conspiracy between the Trump campaign
and Russia to impact the election but we do know that the Clintons hired the
perkins cuy law firm who hired fusion who hired Christopher steel who worked
with Nellie or who gave information to Bruce or that was then given to the FBI
to do what to to take this dossier dress it all up make it look like we don't
know what what really the Muller folks are pondering right now we have no way
but we know this we know that they took the dossier to the secret court to get a
warrant to spy on the other champions
mauler should shut the thing down I think it should be done as quickly as
possible I think it should have been done a long time ago because as I've
said we see no evidence of any type of coordination you think that the
plantation should should talk to mauler do you have to leave that up to the
president his lawyers that that that is not a call for you or me to make or
frankly would you recommend that would that be a setup in your eyes I'll leave
that to his lawyers he's got smart lawyers working for him if that's what
they think needs to happen they can do that if they think it shouldn't they
shouldn't do it that that's their call and what I know is what we have
discovered in our investigation and what I also know is rod Rosenstein has been
dragging his feet and it's time you give us everything why do we have to wait
this long until last week before we ever saw Bruce or emails between Bruce or and
Christian the minute we have less serve you'll indulge me Omarosa with a tape
and multiple tapes were told of Donald Trump on the heels of Michael Cohen
similarly taping conversation with Donald Trump you think of all that I
mean it sounds like she did some of this recording in a in a classified or secure
setting and it asked if as we say you're never supposed to have any type of
device in one of those type of rooms I mean every time we walk in for any type
of briefing we got to check our stuff for the door so I think that's a problem
in and of itself and the fact that you would just record your the people you
work for I mean I just I just find that troublesome so I'll leave it up to I'll
leave it up to the White House though who's gonna work for them who's not
alright connor-san thank you and thank you for sticking it out we do appreciate
that always good seeing you thanks Neil or
more after that and on the tapings that they're raising eyebrows why anyone
claiming to be a friend would do that after this a lot of us are releasing
this tape of a meeting with chief of staff John Kelly for the situation room
now let's get the White House reaction to all of this because this is really
maybe breaching some serous protocol maybe some laws here Fox News
correspondent Kevin quark on how they're reacting there Kevin hey there my friend
Omarosa is actually on a whirlwind media tour she's shopping her upcoming book is
called unhinged it's about her recollection of her time here at the
White House and she's actually helping her roll out by releasing some secretly
recorded conversations between her and the President of the United States and
another conversation that she had with the man who fired her that would be the
chief of staff John Kelly I think it's important understand and it would make
this a friendly departure we can all be you know you can look at look at your
time here and the White House is a year of service to the nation and then you
can go on without any type of difficulty in the future of relativity of
reputation so that was a service Lee recorded conversation in the Situation
Room and that's raised a lot of eyebrows I should just tell you this Neal
point-blank it was suggested to me by an administration official today that
Omarosa it could be shall we say mercurial at times which might explain
why general kelly chose the sit room to have the conversation about her future
at the White House but that recording is being roundly criticized by the
administration including the President of the United States himself taking to
his favorite social media platform no surprise he calls
Omarosa um wacky he says she got fired three times on the apprentice and now
she's gotten fired for the last time he goes on to say she never made it never
will she begged me for a job tears in her eyes I said okay people in the White
House hated her she was vicious but not smart I would rarely see her but heard
really bad things he goes on to say nasty to people would constantly miss
meetings and work when General Kelly came on board he told
me she was a loser and nothing but problems I told him try working it out
if possible because she said only great things about me until she got fired I
should also point this out apparently I morosa has suggested meal that the
president is a bit of a puppet she has suggested in a number of
interviews and in fact she has said on the air that she feels like this White
House is being run almost exclusively by the president's chief of staff General
John Kelly and if you don't believe her she invites you now to listen to a bit
of a conversation that she had with the President himself who she suggests was
completely unaware of her firing the day before listen here general Kelly general
Kelly came to me and said that you guys wanted me to leave no I got nobody even
told me about it no operation but I did
all right so here's the question was he just sort of putting on there was he
just sort of acting like he didn't know or maybe he really didn't know John
Kelly does run a tight ship here and it is a large operation I think what's
interesting Neil is that certainly is a violation you heard congressman Jordan
saying there it's a violation for sure of the White House protocol to take a
recording device into a skiff or into the the sit room but I'm not certain it
violates any laws I've talked to a few attorneys and for the most part they all
agree while dicey it may not have violated any specific law but they're
looking into it here as you can well imagine they'll I'm sure
Kevin thank you very much Kevin core let's go to marklar now running now the
former press secretary for Vice President
hot pence mark what do you think of all this it's disappointing it's
disappointing that she decided to leave on these terms and handle her post her
post service this way by trashing the administration which she spent years
defending and defending the president including the day after she left the
White House she was out there saying he's not a racist he's doing good work
and that she resigned only to come now that she's trying to sell books was she
fired is he a racist she's making up all these claims tapes
right we're not told that maybe there could be others involved other
Administration personnel including a go to rat banca and her husband Jared coach
I mean where does this end why does this happen I mean with Michael Cohen as well
the president's former lawyer taping conversations who does that I'm not sure
and it's something that you know you always have to think about when you're
when you're having these conversations even conversations that haven't been
leaked or tape you know I used to work with are they being more concerned about
that are they checking people for devices that sort of thing well I
wouldn't say checking for devices remember that general Kelley instituted
a policy to ban personal cell phones in the White House in the West Wing earlier
this year and that's because of hacking potential and the fact that there has
that mark you know to me like I don't know if you did what you do a search or
what there are there are closets with lockers right inside the the doors of
the West Wing where you leave your personal cell phones I did that just
last week when I was visiting the White House and traveling with the vice
president and you definitely do that when you go into the Situation Room
where it is completely inappropriate so it's unfortunate she could have taken
the pattern of celebrating the great accomplishments that this president is
having with african-american unemployment helping out HCV use and so
many other organizations that she's passionate about she chose a different
route and now we find ourselves dealing with it deal worry or is there a sense
there that it's like a siege mentality everyone's taping and following and
monitoring I don't like that that it gets people on the defense here
but my biggest fear and I've been in government service for a long time is
that if we start getting to a point where our elected officials at any level
state local federal don't feel like they can get honest opinions or have honest
discussions with their staff or if the staffs can't communicate amongst each
other to help advise those leaders then we're
doing a disservice to our country and society but we're living in an era where
I see something that is considered standard operating procedure it's
considered hush money I'll tell you when I left the White House in October to
join the President and vice-presidents political team I signed a nondisclosure
agreement and I looked at that agreement over the weekend and it looks to be very
similar if not identical to the one that amarosa was signed when she was offered
an opportunity to join the campaign it's not hush money I was paid to talk more
not less but normally when you're recording someone someone you at the
time indicates a michael cohen and at the time of the case were on La Russa
loved and said only good things about Donald Trump they thought differently
it's unfortunate when you see people turning on on people who have long
supported them built their careers made them turn in something in this case is I
think it's the almighty dollar there's an opportunity to just score a what was
it large scale what was it a Michael Kors case I'm not
sure I don't want to go into into his law into his motives and I think he's
got legal issues on that he's facing and that might have might have contributed
to that but when you're dealing with somebody like Omarosa and she's dealing
with it's trying to sell a book her stories have changed moment to moment
from just December to now it you really can't keep up with it all right mark
thank you very much I appreciate your taking the time thanks Neil all right
well just in case the Russians thought that the British were going to back down
and maybe get us to back down over these charges of nerve agent attacks on
journalists they had another thing coming when it came to the ambassador to
the United Nations from Great Britain she's here she's next
