Youtube daily report w Aug 19 2018

Welcome back in a new episode of Hogwarts Mystery

Today a special episode

We will get another friendship to LV 10

This time will be Penny. So I'm very curious

Penny Haywood is nice and popular. She knows all the gossip about Hogwarts. She can use her skills in potions to get you out of trouble

This time I will begin with The Three Broomsticks

Thay give a lot of exp and the last time we didn't see it

Let's invite Penny Haywood

Now we will have 3 friendships at level 10

Let's see if you know me, Shido

In the italian version they traduced surname (cognome) with nickname (soprannome), but it's wrong

The first time I see this I was lost because I didn't understand what to answer

What's my favorite lession? Potions, of course! Herbology is in the 2nd place because she is Hufflepuff

Perfect

Another bonus

Maybe you know everything about me. You are one of my best friends, Penny. Ask me what you want

Why I am famous?

Spell skills, be lovely or potions. Be lovely is in the 2nd place but Potions in always in the 1st place for her

I think she looks like Lily Potter, a little

Wow Shido, you know me a lot

It's almost done. I think we can avoid Gobstones and do directly...

... Great Hall, right... eat with a friend!

Let's invite Penny, of course

Let's bring her to LV 10

You must know Potions to find the Cursed Vaults, Shido. Let's see if you know them

What you need in the Obliviate Potion? I don't remeber it (lol). Water of the River Lete is a good choice!

Of course "I don't remember" was an incorrect answer

but it's funny that they added that answer

What you need in the Polyjuice Potion? "Erba Fondente" or "Centinodia" is a good choice

In that potion you can't find any kind of mistletoe berries, no!

Amazing, Shido! Le'ts see if you know more. I have learned from the best!

What you can find in the Shrinking Potion? Spleen of rat in powder in an amazing choice!

I remember that from... Harry Potter and the Half-blood prince! I have done a let's play of that game! You must see that!

Amazing, Shido. Maybe a day you will be a perfect potions professor. Absolutely yes, I love potions

But playing this game I discovered that also transfiguration spells are really great!

So finally Penny is at LV 10 so let's see what we have unlocked...

Maybe a dress...

Exactly!

Here it is. This is a shirt with a belt and potions

Really nice. Let's wear it. We are more interesting, more or less. It's a gift from Penny so I accept it willingly

I hope you enjoyed this video. See you soon in a next video always here on this channel

The Re-Birth of Surfing in Fukushima | Going Olympic - Duration: 16:19.

Fukushima means "Happy Island".

I believed it as well.

I'm glad to be born in the place

with great nature and waves.

In Fukushima, we get the best waves in Japan.

We all have a good time here.

(ON MARCH 11, 2011, A 9.0 MAGNITUDE EARTHQUAKE

(OCCURRED OFF THE PACIFIC COAST OF JAPAN, TRIGGERING

(A TSUNAMI THAT KILLED OVER 18,000 PEOPLE)

(AS A RESULT OF THE AFTERSHOCKS, THREE REACTORS

(AT THE FUKUSHIMA NUCLEAR POWER PLANT

(EXPLODED IN THE FOLLOWING DAYS)

(GOING OLYMPIC TOKYO 2020)

(SURFING)

(MINAMISHOMA CITY FUKUSHIMA PREFECTURE, JAPAN)

(SHIGENORI SUZUKI SURFER/TRUCK DRIVER)

I'm heading to my usual surfing spot called

Kitaizumi Surf Point.

I started surfing when I was in junior high school.

I used to make wet suits for water sports before

and I also ran a surf shop with my wife.

But then came the earthquake and people couldn't go into

the ocean any more, so I had to close my shop.

I had some plans for my future set in my head at that time,

but everything changed so much.

My current job is as a truck driver

because I wanted to reconstruct my hometown

as soon as possible.

So I carry rocks and sand to the beach where

all the sand and barriers were flushed away by the tsunami.

In Fukushima, we get the best waves in Japan.

Waves are constant and surfers rarely fight for good waves.

The atmosphere is very cosy and we welcome any surfers.

We all have a good time here.

The waves here are really big and powerful.

The waves here can compete with the swells

anywhere in the world.

In the past, I started winning in local contests.

My first achievement was coming third at

the national championship held at Kitaizumi Beach.

The top four surfers of the national championship

were selected

to go and compete in the World Championship.

So I was selected to compete in the amateur class of

the Asian Beach Games, and I won the bronze medal.

I think it was the pinnacle of my surfing career.

(FUKUSHIMA UNIVERSITY FUKUSHIMA CITY)

The coast of Fukushima used to be a paradise for all surfers.

But people who don't surf

didn't realise the true value of it.

So we first started an action

to raise awareness for this great surfing spot.

We founded a Non-Profit Organization group

to hold surfing events for locals to enjoy.

This NPO is called Happy Island Surf Tourism.

"Fuku" means "happy" and "Shima" means "island"

in Japanese.

We were planning to bring up the value of the city

by utilizing the local surf spots.

We started this activity in 2003.

It wasn't just about attracting surfing contests to come here,

but to make surfers migrate to Minamisoma.

Kitaizumi beach in the city of Minamisoma.

Each year, more than 70,000 surfers come here to surf.

It is known as one of Japan's premiere surfing spots.

In our surf town,

people can safely visit the beach all year round.

It's not only for surfers,

hence we are planning to expand into tourism.

(MARCH 11, 2011, SENDAI CITY MIYAGI PREFECTURE)

(KESENNUMA CITY, MIYAGI PREFECTURE)

The tsunami is flushing away everything.

Climb up here!

(FUKUSHIMA DAICHI NUCLEAR POWER PLANT

(FUKUSHIMA PREFECTURE)

The disaster made a huge impact on our lives.

Fukushima would have surely been selected

as the surfing venue for the Olympics in 2020.

This is the place where I used to live.

We had a house and barn here behind the mountain.

The distance between my home and the beach is

around 700 to 800 metres.

I wasn't here at the time of the tsunami

but my dad was here.

The tsunami was heading over the pine forest,

and then he realised how serious the situation was.

So he was calling my neighbours to rush up the mountain

and they watched the tsunami devouring houses.

When my dad was watching the tsunami destroy our house,

he realised he still wasn't safe as the water was rising

and they needed to climb the mountain

to get to higher ground.

The government bought all deserted properties

so we can't build any houses here.

My wife was pregnant at that time

and the due date was

just one week after the disaster.

So we were excited and preparing for the baby.

We had everything set up here to welcome our baby...

Three days after the disaster, our baby was born.

To be honest...

..I wanted to stay in my hometown in Fukushima

but I couldn't risk my kids' lives,

so we decided to move to Niigata.

Reconstruction and decontamination

have slowly begun.

The radiation dose has gone down drastically.

I thought this place has finally become liveable again

so we finally decided to move back here.

We came back hoping that

there was still a future for Fukushima.

We're trying to build a new future for us here

and surfing will be part of it again.

People should check the situation

at the Fukushima beaches for themselves.

Of course, there was a lot of damage done by the tsunami,

but there is nothing that can't be fixed over time.

Unfortunately, this place wasn't selected

for the final round,

but we hope we can do a qualifier here

for the Olympics.

We must face the issue of radiation

when it comes to the venue.

So the city and surfers conduct detection tests on their own.

We believe that the ocean is safe and secure,

but it is hard to make others think the same way.

We are going to check the radiation

with Professor Okumoto.

It's nothing to worry about.

I just hope that things are getting better in this spot.

Basically...

..there is always radiation everywhere.

So it's important to measure as frequently as possible.

It's been a while since that last measure.

We must make sure the safety of our place with our own eyes.

The radiation amount in the air of this beach is

around 0.03 to 0.04 microsieverts.

It's the same amount to the time before the disaster.

The sand is also the same level

at the time before the disaster.

0.03 to 0.04 microsieverts.

Let's go to next spot.

The amount has been stable.

Just like the old days.

Right after the disaster, the amount was too high.

After one year passed,

the radiation level became stable.

But more important than the radiation,

there were still missing people after three years.

We decided to pay tribute to those who were lost.

We didn't want to go into the sea

until dead souls got put to rest.

But after three years, surfers have gradually come back here

to bring back the good old days of this surfing spot.

Kitaizumi Beach is loved by all local people

and many people used to gather here.

This beach was a symbol of the town.

When we had no option but to leave here,

we re-realized this ocean is an integral part of our soul.

We'll be fully revived once we

get back this ocean of Fukushima.

The first people who came back here were surfers.

Fukushima has a tonne of great things.

It's surely a happy island.

I'm glad to be born in the place

with great nature and waves.

As the nuclear plants exploded...

..many people from Japan and other countries have

negative images of Fukushima and they think that

Fukushima is no longer a happy island.

It's very difficult to bring it back to where it was before.

But...

..by living here once again...

..I believe it would make this place...

..once again a happy island.

Royal 'family feud' that Princess Eugenie hopes doesn't dampen her big day - Duration: 3:48.

Princess Eugenie's wedding hit the headlines this week for its whopping security bill

The revelation drew sharp criticism, but apparent friction between two members of the bride-to-be's family might also be of concern

The 28-year-old royal has chosen to marry her fiancé Jack Brooksbank at St George's Chapel in Windsor Castle where Prince Harry wed Meghan Markle in May

Mirror Online previously reported that the copycat Royal Wedding has caused outrage over its £2million security bill

And while Princess Eugenie's open top-carriage and celebrity guest list show similarities to Meghan and Harry's big day, there could also be family friction at the wedding in October

While not at the same level of the Markle family feud, which has seen Meghan's half-sister Samantha brand the former Suits actress as "Princess Pushy" and "inhumane", two of Eugine's wedding guests apparently don't see eye to eye

According to the Mail on Sunday , Prince Phillip, 97, will be keen to avoid the Duchess of York, 58, if a recent awkward encounter is anything to go by

Fergie visited the Queen at Balmoral last week with former spouse Prince Andrew and their eldest daughter Beatrice on Thursday

However, according to the article, following what seems to have been careful planning, Fergie left the Scottish retreat at 10

30am on Sunday.  After saying her goodbyes to Andrew and Beatrice who were attending church, she headed for Aberdeen airport in a Range Rover

It is said that it was then that the Duke of Edinburgh arrived at the estate at 11

15am, to be reunited with the Queen.  A Balmoral source told the paper: "Her Majesty often has the Duchess for a few days at Balmoral early in her annual summer holiday there, but Prince Philip does not like being in the same building as her

"He just can't bring himself to forgive her for some of the outrageous things she has done

"  It is believed that her former father-in-law still has not forgiven her for the 'toegate' scandal of 1992

While she still married to Prince Andrew, Fergie was photographed on a sun lounger having her toes sucked by 'financial adviser' John Bryan

Buckingham Palace however have insisted that Prince Philip's absence at Balmoral was due to a 'private engagement'

And when Fergie attended Harry and Meghan's wedding in May, it was claimed that she had not been invited to the private party thrown by Prince Charles in the evening

So when the pair do eventually come face-to-face with one another when Eugenie marries Jack Brooksbank, 32, on October 12, it could be awkward

However based on the fact that there are three entrances to St George's Chapel, the two could well end up avoiding each other

Ian Wright's tweet about Unai Emery after Chelsea 3-2 Arsenal - Duration: 3:11.

Unai Emery's Arsenal reign has got off to the most difficult start. The Spaniard - who succeeded Arsene Wenger - has had to face Manchester City and Chelsea in his first two Premier League fixtures

And as many people predicted, the Gunners are currently pointless, losing 2-0 to the champions at the Emirates and 3-2 to Maurizio Sarri's side on Saturday

It was the game of the season so far, with Chelsea taking an early 2-0 lead but then being pegged back by Arsenal, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Alex Iwobi getting the goals

In the second-half, Arsenal finally showed they can defend a bit, with the introduction of Lucas Torreira for Granit Xhaka really altering the style for the better

Nevertheless, the negatives will outweigh the positives for many fans, particularly after Marcos Alonso's winner

Hector Bellerin, Shkodran Mustafi and Mesut Ozil were all woeful at Stamford Bridge, while Petr Cech struggled with playing out from the back again - but he did make some brilliant saves

But club legend Ian Wright posted a brave tweet highlighting the many positives from Arsenal's performance

He's really spoken some sense during a bit of a chaotic period for the Gunners.Matteo Guendouzi looks like a potential star for the future and was easily Arsenal's best player on the day

And Emery's ruthlessness with his substitutions is certainly a welcome reprieve from Wenger's stubbornness

The Frenchman would often wait far too long to take off an underperforming player, but Emery hooked both Xhaka and Ozil without a second thought

Wright also tweeted his support to Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang after the Gabon striker missed two absolute sitters at Stamford Bridge

Emery spoke after the game about how happy he was with the response from his players and found a lot of positives in the performance

"The half-time is good for us and the second half is we need to continue this control, but I think the second half we don't push and keep possession like we did in the first half, and in our moments, our chances, we didn't do, and they did

"That is why the results is 3-2.But it is one process. In the second half we played with two midfielders, 19 and 21 years old

They improve and are continuing.I am happy without the result."

How do designers earn their money? ǀ Instagram fashion? ǀ Summer Q&A ǀ Justine Leconte - Duration: 14:32.

hi everyone it's Justine: this is the summer Q&A, the one that we do every

three months thank you for all your questions on YouTube this was supposed

to be a light-hearted easy to make easy to take in video turns out your

questions are super high level yet again I'm gonna have to think about it hard

fair warning: it's a wild mix I tried to cover as many topics as possible without

an order so if there is a question you're not interested in just skip move

on to the next one let's go first question hi Justin hi do you have

moments when you feel stuck or discouraged to undertake a project how

do you find strength and self-confidence to move on and navigate in a tough

business world I try to always keep the bigger goal in mind I know if I make it

through this project it opens me the door for this this and that later on so

it's like it means towards a bigger end and that's the motivation when I'm stuck

that's another different issue then either I do something else if I have

time and I come back to my project where I'm stuck later or if I have a deadline

I think that's the magical thing for me if there's a deadline I will make it and

if you work well under pressure then setting yourself deadlines and different

my stools on the way towards that deadline is super helpful I think what

PC is would you consider as staples must-haves for the automotive whoo okay

I would say a pair of comfortable flats boots that end below the knee black or

brown basic colors that you can match with skirt and heavy tights or jeans so

pretty much anything you wear in that season then a tailored coat in wool or

similar if you began that is well tailored heavy and dense that's not

going to loose its shape when the air starts to be wet and humid typical info

at least here in Europe then a scarf in the fabric that you'd like to touch and

you would love to have hugs with all day I feel like in autumn you need cozy at

least I know I do and then thin gloves to protect your

skin before it gets really cold and the skin starts to crack because the next

what is you're here to impress we're cultures that's a good one I personally

always try to wear something that the people I'm meeting with don't expect me

to wear typically if I'm going to a business meeting I know that the rest of

the people they are very likely to wear business clothing in colors ranging from

Navy to black I'm exaggerating a little but not that much right so if I'm going

with the colorful dress in fancy design I take my neon platforms with impeccable

toenails that's important if you're showing your feet then it's gonna

surprise everyone and surprise is always good always a little impressive because

you're voluntarily attracting attention and that reflects self confidence can

you name any affordable clothing brands that are both good quality and are not

part of the fast fashion industry this is such a tough question guys because

first it changes if you had asked me 20 years ago is gap good quality I would

have said yes now they've got overseas they've reduced their costs they've kept

the price is equal so they have maximized their margins and now I

wouldn't say that cap is a good deal anymore it's not quality anymore there

are also French brands that do the same like couples they're saving so much on

the fabrics it's a pity because the cuts are interesting so it depends it really

depends and most brands have never tried myself so I can't give you a qualified

opinion you know why I started this new series where I test and try brands

I did that last week with the Asus video I intend on trying more brands in the

future to give you a qualified answer until then I don't really know yeah and

I think it's more important to learn to understand to see good quality to

recognize it when you see it so I've tackled that in previous videos

I will link them down below for you if you're interested are you married yes

ask that's right so I will take your question and answer just your question

no I'm not married we're all some basic operations to

clothes that can be done relatively easily at home anything that has to do

with shortening so if your suppressing fabric at the hem level on

fence on a skirt on sleeves that's very easy it's also not complicated to take

in fabric at the waist so that the waist is not like this but more more narrower

you can add embellishments so extra fabric on top add sequins at ruffles any

embellishment something that you saw on top of the rest is easy I would stay

away from trying to add fabric because then you need to know about pattern

making that's something I would give out to a seamstress to a tailor

Hey Hey can you suggest a book about fashion history in or design for someone

outside the industry who just wants to know more mm-hmm so this is the one I

really really like fashion since 1900 edition teams in Hudson world of art

this is a good one it's not that thick it has pictures and it's in in color I

like the layout it's very easy to read because it's for neurological and you

can read it from from the beginning to the end like a book really it gives you

a good overview the only thing is that it starts in 1900 but 100 years of

fashion I think it's a good place to start what is your favorite tote bag or

purse you can grab a pen and notepad that you're also going to need a thick

wallet my favorite purse which I unfortunately do not own is the Fay F a

ye I think in terms of design in aesthetics

it's an absolute masterpiece it cost over a thousand euros but it's great

design and great quality sorry Justin I was wondering what Beauty traits do you

recommend being French I know you girls do care a lot about beauty products and

good quality so what is your personal Beauty trick hacks secret you realize

you're asking your French girl to share her secrets are you sure you're doing I

would say hydration always of my face and my body twice a day no matter what

in any season even if I'm not going to show my legs they will be hydrated

because it's just so easy to prevent damage

repairing your skin once it is damaged also I've never ever shaving my legs

shaving is awful for the skin and your hair scores back longer and stronger so

I only watch or use a machine since I'm 13 like I've never ever shaven and the

more you do it the less hairs you have so it's also a hidden benefit how do you

keep your very long hair healthy and in good condition my hair is normal it's

not very dry not very frizzy it's easy to care for I have to say but the ends

are several years old so they will be dry like there's nothing you can do it's

it's old hair so when I wash it I always put a mask at least on the lower twenty

thirty centimeters and I leave it for ten minutes every second of that time I

wash my hair I will put the mask on the whole head and we wait ten minutes it's

meditation time it's quality time so I enjoy it otherwise I use leave-in

nourishing conditioners and I try to not blow dry my hair if I don't have to I

prefer to let it air dry I love your videos it makes me feel more empowered

as a consumer that's the biggest compliment case thank you so much I'm

curious about you as a person what do you do for fun were your hobbies I love

to learn see do new things and go to places I've never been to before

um I crave that all the time so this is where my free time goes I have no

regrets I also like meeting with friends right now I'm working a lot though so

I'm not doing a great job at that and I'm hopefully this will change soon

describe yourself in five words who five words curious that's pretty romantic

that counts as one adaptable

precise hard-working they're positive words I'm unaware I also realize they

can be contradictory how do fashion designers earn their money I'd said just

like regular jobs it's not like pop stars so most of them have a regular day

job they're employed they get a paycheck every month

Carol Agra felt with Chanel all those famous ones Galliano for Margiela he

gets a regular paycheck then you have the designers who have their own labels

like Tom Ford like me Marc Jacobs now they I don't like they pay themselves I

don't pay myself a paycheck I get paid when I sell something so if

there is a lot throughout the year when I have a new collection I sell more I

earn more when everything is sold out I don't so it's fluctuating a lot more and

then you have the third option which is freelancing if I'm going to do a project

with the brand they're not going to hire me they're gonna book me for fixed time

and a fixed project scope and they will pay me for that so I will invoice them

and I will be working with them freelance my question is what are you

thoughts on street style in the Instagram fashion with you on social

media these days I think I'm changing my mind on that matter you know decades ago

think your new look there was the look of the season every woman on the photo

was wearing the same outfit pretty much the same hairstyle and it seemed like

until a couple of years ago before Instagram got so big anything could work

you know it was the time of anything-goes and there are no seasons

and no decays anymore blah blah now in the last couple of years mainly through

Instagram and the super influence of people like the Kardashians

I feel like teenage girls and boys start to look the same again makeup the way

they shape their bodies the way the dress is becoming really consistent

again so I think it's the end of the anything

period many people have encountered investing in a water of a selfish or

vain rather than important part of life and self-expression

what were your response be to these people good one if you think that buying

clothes is selfish then you can go naked for a week and see if people find you

more altruistic I mean everyone need clothes just like you need food and roof

under above your head it's a basic of life in society then if you think it's

vain to spend too much on garments realize that by spending too little

you're supporting the system that has ethical issues the whole thing of first

question and and it's not just the case in fashion everything that you decide to

purchase or not as a consumer has an impact it makes a statement and no one

is outside of that economic system then the self-expression part is the fun part

in fashion you can feel good in your body through clothes you can give a

different impression to other people you can play with the perception they have

of you you can artistically express yourself I think people who don't see

that parts haven't tried how important is studying at a prestigious elite

University in regards to fashion design I don't think you need to go to an idiot

University and they're super expensive I do think that you need to learn all the

skills that a university like that would teach you but there are other ways to do

it you go to evening classes online classes you get a teacher you build a

sewing group in your town you need to learn the skills of sewing dripping

pattern making production techniques super important if you want to actually

produce the comments you design later on you need to understand how tailoring

works you need to understand those remitting if that's gonna be your

specialty you need to learn that somehow hey Justin in your videos you look so

self-confident how did you get to the confidence you have now do you have some

tips maybe I think I come across as more self-confident than I really am

it's because I've got some practice now talking to this camera and it's never

really challenging me so it feels quite safe to be honest but in normal life

especially now that I'm trying to build up my business figuring out this YouTube

thing discovering how social media work and so on and so forth there are tons of

topics I'm not confident about I would say that for me preparation is super

helpful like every time you go to a meeting you know what the goal is what

you're in this meeting for who the others are that you're meeting what they

want what's your goal or your goals compatible where can you find a

compromise and if you know every time you're going somewhere what you're doing

there you collect good outputs and the more good outputs you get the more

confidence you build up that's it I hope I didn't speak too fast and that the

video is not too long we'll see when you did it

thumbs up if you enjoyed this Q&A thank you so much the next one will be in fall

I'm thinking of doing it as a live stream so we would decide a date and a

time everybody you and me goes online at the same time you see me in life you

type your questions in the chat and I can answer to the questions in life

would you find that more interesting and fun to try I've never tried it or what

do we stick to a format like this one let me know I will see you next week in

a new video it's one that took a ton of work to prepare with the whole team so I

really hope that you can like it enjoy it see you next week take care bye

Kofi Annan devoted his life to peace and justice: S. Korean gov't - Duration: 0:57.

World leaders are paying tribute this weekend to Kofi Annan, the former Secretary-General

of the United Nations, who died on Saturday after a brief illness.

Annan was 80 years old.

South Korean President Moon Jae-in offered his own words of condolence on Sunday.

He said South Korea has lost a "dear friend who walked an exhausting path toward peace."

Kofi Annan is known in South Korea for having endorsed the late former President Kim Dae-jung's

policy of engagement with North Korea... also known as the Sunshine Policy.

President Moon said South Koreans will carry on Annan's support for peace on the Peninsula.

Annan's successor at the UN, former Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, said the late leader will be

remembered for his vision and courage.

Annan led the UN from 1997 to 2006, and was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2001.

Aspire Cut2D and VCarve For Absolute Beginners - Part 6 – Resizing and Copying Objects - Duration: 13:14.

Welcome to Part 6 of my series on the Vectric software titles for the absolute beginner.

Before we get started, I'd like to say that I am neither sponsored...

...nor endorsed by Vectric Ltd., nor any other company.

I'm making this series to help the person who has never done anything like this before...

...get into the software...

...and learn how to use it to successfully create or edit a project.

In Part 5 of this series, I got a little bit more advanced than I probably should have...

...but that was directly because of several questions I had from several different people on the same subject.

In this video we're gonna take a step back...

...and kind of get back into some of the basics.

So we'll begin by creating a new file.

I'm going to basically accept most everything that I have here...

This will be a single-sided project...

...with a 12 inch width in X, a 12 inch height in Y...

...a thickness of 3/4 of an inch...

Again, I'm using inches...

The Z zero position will be on the material surface...

...and my XY datum, for layout purposes will be in the center of the material.

We'll go ahead and click OK.

As I've made reference to in just about every video of this series...

...because the Vectric software is a Windows-based program...

...there are several ways of doing the same thing.

An example of that is resizing an object.

So in this video, we're going to revisit resizing an object.

In order to do that, we obviously need an object to resize...

...so I'm going to just simply draw a rectangle.

I'm going to anchor the center of that rectangle on my X zero, Y zero.

So we'll enter those coordinates there.

I want the corners to be square...

...and I want the width to be 1.5 inches wide in X and 3.5 inches wide in Y...

...for no particular reason.

We'll click create, then we can close...

...and there's our rectangle centered in the center of our project.

The way I showed you how to resize an object before...

...was to simply select that object...

...come up here under Transform Objects...

...to Set Selected Object Size.

We'll open that up...

...and this is fine if you know exactly what size you want to make this rectangle.

If, for instance, I decided I didn't want this to be 1.5 inches wide...

...I made a mistake... I want it to be 2 inches wide...

...but I don't want to change the height...

I can come up here and unlink the XY...

...change the width...

I believe I said 2 inches...

Click Apply...

Because my anchor point is still the center...

...it stayed located in the center, but now the width of my rectangle is 2 inches...

...and the height remains unchanged.

So I can go ahead and close that.

Again, because this is a Windows-based program...

I have two more ways of doing that.

One is to go over here under the Edit Objects section.

You'll see we have three separate cursor pointers, right here.

The first one is the Standard Selection Mode...

...which is what we're in right now.

My cursor is just a pointer.

The second one is Go Into Node Editing Mode.

Now that's a lot more advanced...

...way outside of the scope of this video, so we're not going to use it.

The third icon is the Transform Mode...

If you look at the little text that pops up when I hover my cursor over it...

"Transform Mode - move, scale, or rotate the selection."

I'll go ahead and click that icon...

...and come over here, and you see now I have the four-way arrow next to my cursor pointer.

I have nothing selected...

...but anything I do select...

...I'll come over here and just click on it...

...and you'll see the change in appearance.

We have these boxes around the outside perimeter.

We have 4 black boxes in the corners.

You'll see how my cursor changes whenever I move over one of these boxes.

Then we have one in the center.

The box in the center is used...

...you click and drag, holding your left mouse button...

...and that's how you would move the object around.

I'm going to go ahead and hold down the CTRL button...

...and tap the letter Z to undo those changes...

...then click off.

You'll notice when I click off...

...my cursor stays in the Transform Mode.

I still have the four-way arrow.

Click back on the object...

...and it lights up with these squares again.

If I come up to any of these you'll see they change to a two-way arrow.

If I click and drag...

...I can resize in this direction, on this axis only...

...let go...

...do CTRL Z again to undo that.

The same is true for the corners.

If I click and drag...

...I'm pulling it larger in that direction from the corner.

Even if I pull straight out to the side, it will resize in that direction.

Let me hit CTRL Z to undo that.

If I come up here to one of the black buttons...

...I can click and drag and that will rotate on the center axis...

...in whichever direction I decide to rotate it.

Again CTRL Z to undo.

Let's go back to these resize buttons here.

Again, you have them in all four corners and on the four sides...

...so you can resize to a certain point from whichever direction you want to...

...but if you notice, if I go back over here and I hover over this corner...

...and click and drag...

...the top-left corner stays anchored.

It stays right there.

So I'm increasing in size down toward the bottom right.

Then I would have to come back up...

...and move it up here into the center.

Well there's an easier way of doing that.

Let me do CTRL Z to undo those changes.

Come back over here and select...

If I hold down the SHIFT key...

...then click and drag...

...you'll notice that the object expands in all directions, from the center.

I can resize outward, or I can resize inward...

...and it's anchored from the center as long as I'm holding down that SHIFT key.

This comes in real handy...

...when you want to resize something but you don't have a specific size in mind.

You just want to resize it until "it looks good."

This is when it comes in real handy.

Let me click off and hit CTRL Z to undo that change.

So that's using this icon over here under the Edit Objects section...

...but you'll notice that no matter what I do, I'm still in that Transform Mode.

So there's another way of doing exactly the same thing without using this icon...

...and this is what I would normally do.

I'll go back to my Standard Select pointer...

...then come over here and just click on the vector, wait a second...

...and click on it again.

That slow, almost double click...

...puts me into Transform Mode... you notice my cursor has changed...

...but when I click off...

...I go back to Standard Selection Mode.

So I never even have to come over here and hit these icons at all.

I can just select...

...then click again...

...hold down SHIFT...

...increase in size...

...release SHIFT and the left mouse button...

...click off...

...then I can move on to other things.

While I have this up here, I'll show you another little trick.

We'll click it once, wait a second, then click again...

...go up here into the center...

...as if to move the object...

...but before I click and drag...

...hold down the CTRL button.

I'm holding the CTRL button, left click and hold on that move button...

...and drag a copy of that vector off to the side.

That's a quick way of copying the object.

Click - hesitate for a second - click again...

...go up to that center box...

...hold down CTRL...

...left click and drag...

...and look at my cursor...

You see how it's got that circle with the crosshairs in it that's showing me that I'm dragging...

...that copy straight on the X axis.

I'm not moving off to one corner or the other.

I'm moving straight along that axis.

And there we go.

So that's a quick way of resizing, and a quick way of copying your objects.

Hold down SHIFT...

...increase the size...

...just until it looks good...

...and there we go.

I'm gonna go ahead and end this video here .

Time running out for two Koreas to hold family reunions - Duration: 2:23.

As mentioned earlier, it's been nearly three years since family reunions were last held

by the two Koreas.

Cha Sang-mi reports on their significance and why it had been so difficult to hold these

events more frequently.

When hostilities ended in the Korean War in 1953, the new militarized border separated

parents from children, brothers from sisters and husbands from wives.

The first historic family reunion was held in August 2000... right after the first Inter-Korean

summit on June 25th the same year.

Since then, the two Koreas have put together 19 reunions, the most recent in 2015, after

which inter-Korean relations took a nosedive.

After three long years, there's finally one coming up from August 20th to the 26th.

The reunions held to date... have brought together a total of 19-thousand-771 individuals

from South and North Korea, including the relatives that chaparoned them.

Pyongyang has turned down offers of reunions in the past when relations were bad.

Many say that bringing families together should be treated as separate from politics, including

Dr. Woo Jung-yep of the Sejong Institute.

But he also notes that paradoxically, the reunions are closely intertwined with the

North Korean people's political prospects for the future.

"So even though we don't want family reunions directly linked to the political situation,

this time, since there is much higher hope for the denuclearization of North Korea than

before, I think that these kind of humanitarian issues can lead to a much better political

situation in North Korea."

And the expert says these opportunities should be organized more often.

That's because time is running out.

Originally, there were 1-hundred-and-32-thousand South Koreans registered as having family

in the North.

But as of last month, fewer than half of them were still alive.

Among the ones who were, nearly 63 percent were over 80 years old; and if you include

those in their seventies, the very elderly represent 85 percent of the total.

Politics has kept them apart from their families for decades already.

With every day that goes by, the chances they'll ever embrace their relatives again get smaller

and smaller.

Cha Sang-mi, Arirang News.

Meghan Markle news: Meghan is on her way to Canada ALONE - but where is Harry? - Duration: 4:18.

The Duchess of Sussex is said to have flown to Toronto, where she used to live, on an Air Canada flight

According to royal news hub Royal Central, Kensington Palace sent a letter to Air Canada asking that no one takes Meghan's picture of approaches her on the flight

She is also rumoured to be planning a trip to California later in the summer.  It is Meghan's first foreign trip without her husband since the loved-up pair tied the knot on May 19

Where is Harry? Kensington Palace has been contacted by for comment, but it is not yet known whether Prince Harry will join his wife in Canada

However, earlier this month we reported on Meghan and Harry's summer plans, and it was already being suggested she might head stateside solo to spend some time catching up with pals, before Harry flies out to join her

The couple, who have charmed the nation with their affectionate public displays, have hardly been separated since they married, so it's not likely they'll stay apart for long

But after was has been a busy few months for the royal couple since their wedding, Meghan is sure to be ready for some time out of the public eye

Meghan lived in Toronto while filming legal drama Suits, and she still has a lot of friends who live in the city

A wider American trip has been speculated for the royal couple, with a Us Weekly source saying: "Meghan is looking forward to introducing Harry to everything she loves about the US

" The couple are said to have recently spent some downtime at Balmoral Castle with the Queen, going on long country walks and having decadent picnics with the family

This latest trip comes amid a tough time for Meghan, as her already strained relationship with her father has taken another nosedive after his most recent scathing interview with the British press

Speaking to The Sun, Thomas Markle compared the British Royal Family to Scientologists - a controversial modern religion - and said they are 'cult-like'

This is the 74-year-old's third such interview, after speaking to ITV's Good Morning Britain and the Mail on Sunday where he made equally inflammatory statements

A friend close to Meghan told the Mail Online: "For the life of her, she can't understand why he's digging such a deep hole for himself and to say things like that

" But in better news, it looks like Meghan's mum, Doria Ragland, is gearing up to make the move to the UK to be closer to her beloved daughter

Doria was the only member of Meghan's family to attend the wedding after Thomas pulled out of walking her down the aisle at the last minute

In what was seen as the first gesture before the big move, Doria quit her job as a social worker for the Didi Hirsch Mental Health Services clinic in Culver City, LA

Now, the 61-year-old is said to be "beside herself" with excitement at the prospect of joining the Duke and Duchess of Sussex in the UK

The source added: "She is fiercely loyal to Meghan and would never betray her like the rest of them

They are so close." Meghan and her mum were often seen out together in the past, heading to yoga class and sharing a laugh

Harry is also very fond of his mother-in-law, calling her "amazing" in the couple's first interview after their engagement

Real Madrid news: Julen Lopetegui makes transfer revelation ahead of season opener - Duration: 2:27.

The European champions are weaker on paper after the sale of Cristiano Ronaldo to Juventus and the failure so far to replace him

The only big signing this summer has been Thibaut Courtois joining from Chelsea while Ronaldo and Mateo Kovacic have left

Reports yesterday claimed the former Spain coach wanted another striker, a centre-back and a midfielder

But Real Madrid appear to be playing the market quietly as they wait on an update from PSG on Neymar

And while in limbo Lopetegui insists he is happy with his team. "We're convinced that we will be a great team this season and I love the squad and I'm happy with what we have," Lopetegui said

"I think we will see a great Real Madrid and we are going to fight for all of the titles with the players we have

"They have more talent and quality than people think and I wouldn't doubt them." Real Madrid get their La Liga season underway this evening when they face Getafe

Barcelona have already sent out a warning with a 3-0 win over Alaves. Lionel Messi scored twice and Philippe Coutinho struck as a late flurry helped flatter the scoreline

And Lopetegui has offered an insight into his squad management. "I believe in the weekly management of the side and there is no magic formula," Lopetegui added

"We have great solutions and options. There are other guys too and we'll try to manage them all well

"It is great to have competition, which is a positive not a negative. It is good for the team

"One thing I will say is that we'll not continue with five goalkeepers. "We will keep three and will make the decisions about what to do

Sony Xperia Android 9 Pie release news as upgrade date announced ● Tech News ● #TECH - Duration: 2:12.

SONY Xperia owners will be getting their hands on the recently announced Android 9 Pie very

soon after the Japanese tech giant confirmed rollout dates for a range of devices.

Android 9 Pie has already launched but is currently only available on Google Pixel devices

in addition to the Essential Phone.

Android updates are renowned for their staggered releases with some phones having to wait months

in the past to take advantage of the latest and greatest.

During its unveiling of Android 9 Pie Google appeared determined to deliver the new software

to as many phones as possible quicker than ever.

But now a range of Sony Xperia models have also been confirmed to be receiving the software.

The Japanese tech giant insisted anyone with an Xperia XZ2, XZ2 Premium, XZ2 Compact, Xperia

XZ Premium, XZ1 and XZ1 Compact will get Android 9 Pie in November.

Sony said: "Google has unveiled Android 9 Pie, meaning every Xperia owner will be wondering:

when can I get my hands on it?

"The good news is: you won't have to wait too long to get the brand-new version of Android

on your Xperia device.

Unfortunately anyone with XA2, XA2 Ultra and XA2 Plus hardware will have to wait until

"early 2019" for Android 9 Pie, the tech giant went on.

Sony also emphasised its engineers are endeavouring to bring the "quickest possible rollout" while

maintaining the company's quality standards.

It continued: "We always aim for the quickest possible upgrade rollout from the time Google

makes its announcement to when it reaches your smartphone.

"And it's essential that Sony engineers have the time to implement all our feature

upgrades and test devices to meet our high quality standards."

Android 9 Pie boasts a wealth of changes set to change the operating system for the better.

In addition to bringing gesture controls that allow users to navigate their device with

the flick of a finger, a new mode dubbed Adaptive Battery harnesses machine learning to help

increase usage time.
