(Singing) I know my God has made the way for me.
I know my God has made the way for me.
ANNOUNCER: Living in the overflow is having every need
met with more than enough left over. That's God's plan for His
Church. Join Gloria Copeland and Pastor George Pearsons
to learn more on today's Believer's Voice of Victory.
GLORIA: Welcome to the Believer's Voice of Victory
broadcast. Pastor George is here with
me today. GEORGE: Well, Gloria, it is so good to be on
the broadcast with you here. We are--we are having such a great
time talking about living in the overflow. GLORIA: Yes, we are.
GEORGE: The overflow is the will of God. GLORIA: Amen. GEORGE:
The overflow--and here's a good description of what the overflow
is: It's being able to pay your tithes, give your offerings, pay
all the bills-- GLORIA: Yes. GEORGE: --with much left over.
Now, that's a good starting place. GLORIA: And the overflow
is different from "just enough to get by." GEORGE: Yeah,
exactly. Yeah. And our God is not a God of "just enough."
GLORIA: No. GEORGE: He's a God of "more than enough." GLORIA:
How many stars are up there in that sky? GEORGE: Oh, you can't
count them. GLORIA: More than enough. GEORGE: More than
enough. How many fish are in the ocean? GLORIA: More than enough.
GEORGE: How many sands on the sea? GLORIA: Hallelujah. GEORGE:
How many--I mean, the Lord is just wanting to enlarge our
capacity-- GLORIA: That's right. GEORGE: --to be able to see this
and to see this in our lives and see this abundant life-- GLORIA:
Yes, amen. GEORGE: --that Jesus promised in John 10:10. "He came
to give us life--" the--I like the Amplified translation. It
says, "to give--that we may have and enjoy life, have it in
abundance (to the full, until it overflows)." GLORIA: Overflow.
GEORGE: Overflowing life. GLORIA: I like overflow.
Hallelujah. GEORGE: And that's what belongs to us. So we've
been talking about just--we've been talking about the blessing.
GLORIA: So George and I have essentially been having our own
convention, pre-convention. GEORGE: Right here. GLORIA: And
we're already excited. GEORGE: We've been having a convention
right here -- GLORIA: Yeah, that's right. GEORGE: --talking
about overflow. And we've spoken on--we've talked about the
blessing of Abraham, and we've talked about being redeemed, or
like you said, pardoned from the curse of the law, Galatians
3:13-14. GLORIA: Yeah. GEORGE: We've talked about being
thoroughly furnished in abundance-- GLORIA: Yes. That's
what the Bible says. GEORGE: --for every good work and
charitable donation. So today, we're talking about more than
enough. GLORIA: Hallelujah. GEORGE: More than enough. More
than enough. So this first scripture here, go ahead and
read that Psalm 78:41. GLORIA: "Yes, again and again they
tempted God, and they limited the Holy One of Israel." GEORGE:
We can't do that, can we? GLORIA: We're not supposed to do
that. GEORGE: We cannot limit the Holy One of Israel. GLORIA:
We must not limit the Holy One of Israel. Our God is not the
God of not enough. GEORGE: Mm-hmm. GLORIA: Our God is not
even the God of just enough. GEORGE: Right. GLORIA: Our God
is the God of-- TOGETHER: --more than enough. GLORIA: Hallelujah.
And we serve a "too much" God. GEORGE: We do. We do. GLORIA: I
believe that's a theme of this convention, "More than enough."
GEORGE: More than enough. GLORIA: Hallelujah. GEORGE: More
than enough. And you know what? GLORIA: We're taking the limits
off. GEORGE: We're taking--we are taking the limits off. And
when you talk about "more than enough," what is that saying?
You have enough to cover whatever it is that needs to be
covered-- GLORIA: Every need. GEORGE: --every need, with much
left over. GLORIA: Yes, amen. GEORGE: Plenty. In Deuteronomy
28, one of the blessing of Abraham scriptures listed is
that He would make us "plenteous in goods." GLORIA: "Plenteous in
goods," yes. GEORGE: Another translation of that says--the
Amplified says He would give you a "surplus of prosperity."
GLORIA: That's right. GEORGE: Well, what is plenty? What is
surplus? GLORIA: More than enough! GEORGE: It's more than
enough. It's more--it's more than what will meet the need.
And too many people are living in a place of being paycheck to
paycheck. GLORIA: It's called "barely get by" street. I lived
there one time. GEORGE: That's barely-- GLORIA: I didn't like
it. GEORGE: That's--what does Brother Hagin say? That's near
Grumble Alley. GLORIA: Ha-ha, something. GEORGE: Barely
Getting by Street and-- GLORIA: Barely Get by Street. GEORGE:
--Poverty Row. Well, that's not the way God wants us to live.
GLORIA: No, no. GEORGE: He doesn't want any of His children
to have any less than what His heart's desire is for us. He
sets a table before us in the presence of our enemies, and
that table is full. It's full and overflowing. GLORIA: Praise
God. GEORGE: And He wants every bill, He wants every debt
removed. GLORIA: Amen. GEORGE: He wants every debt removed.
And, you know, along with debt comes interest. And so much
interest is added into the borrowing of money. Think about
this for just a moment. Think about living in a home with no
debt. GLORIA: I like that. GEORGE: You're not--you're not
paying that--whatever, that exorbitant monthly mortgage
payment. GLORIA: It's like paying for a house twice.
GEORGE: That's true, Gloria. That's absolutely true. And the
Lord--the Lord wants us to live in that place of more than
enough so that we have everything that it takes to be
able to live a debt-free lifestyle. GLORIA: Yes, amen.
GEORGE: To be debt free and to be able to provide and supply,
to help--to do whatever's necessary to help others and
have so much left over. I'm telling you, the Lord--somebody
was talking to me about this this morning when I first came
into the studio. And we were talking about how Brother
Copeland challenges us, and you challenge us, to think like
God-- GLORIA: Praise God. GEORGE: --to think like Him. How
does He think? GLORIA: You think God created some, you know,
10,000 stars and said, "Eh, that's enough." GEORGE: "That's
enough." GLORIA: No, no, no. GEORGE: No. It's, I think, the
word "infinite." GLORIA: Infinite stars. GEORGE: Infinite
and limitless comes in there. GLORIA: Yeah. GEORGE: So we need
to be--we need to be talking the language of overflow. GLORIA:
That's right. GEORGE: What's the language of overflow? It's what
I've been doing at night, just laying in bed and thinking
about, "I'm living in the overflow. I'm furnished in
abundance." GLORIA: I like that. GEORGE: "I have more than
enough. And these--my storehouses--" GLORIA: "The
blessing is working for me." GEORGE: "The blessing is working
for me." GLORIA: Hallelujah. GEORGE: And like you said, you
brought this revelation in 1978, "The hundredfold return is
working for me all the time." GLORIA: "It's coming to me now."
GEORGE: "It's coming to me now." GLORIA: Hallelujah. GEORGE: And
I do that, Gloria. I still do that. GLORIA: Praise God.
GEORGE: And that's 40 years ago that the Lord first gave that.
GLORIA: And didn't it come? GEORGE: And it came, and it's
still coming. GLORIA: Hallelujah. GEORGE: And you know
what? You have to keep yourself refreshed in these things.
GLORIA: Yeah. GEORGE: You've got to keep-- GLORIA: Well, you've
got to put your eyes on the Word just to keep in faith. GEORGE:
Exactly. GLORIA: Otherwise, you begin to say what's around you
instead of what's in you. GEORGE: Now, wait a minute, you
just said something. GLORIA: That's right. I said something
right there. GEORGE: You just said something right there. You
have to say--you don't--don't say what's around you. You have
to say what's in you. GLORIA: You have to keep your eyes on
the Word so that you don't say what is around you but what is
in you. The Word comes out. GEORGE: Oh, that's wonderful.
GLORIA: The blessing comes out, in other words. GEORGE: Yeah,
the blessing will come out. GLORIA: Glory to God. GEORGE:
Well, let's talk about this, Gloria. GLORIA: Okay, I like it.
GEORGE: "Too much." Let's look at Exodus 36:3. Let me read some
of this, and then you read some of it. GLORIA: Okay. GEORGE:
"And then they received from Moses all the offering, which
the children of Israel had brought for the work of the
service of making the sanctuary." So they're receiving
an offering for the sanctuary. GLORIA: Yes, they are. GEORGE:
And the Lord instructed Moses to receive this offering. And then
it says, "So they continued bringing to him free will
offerings every morning." GLORIA: They were into it,
George. GEORGE: They really were into it. GLORIA: They were into
this offering business. GEORGE: Offerings-- GLORIA: They got up
every morning and brought their offering. GEORGE: They did. They
did. Now, as I'm holding that thought because I'm turning my
Bible, just everybody hold on, just hold on. GLORIA: Okay,
we're with you. GEORGE: And I'm opening my Bible to a scripture
that just jumped into my heart. He's talking here about them
bringing-- GLORIA: Free will offerings. GEORGE: --bringing
free will offerings of-- GLORIA: Every morning. GEORGE: --every
morning. GLORIA: Say, "Every morning." GEORGE: Every morning.
I like that. GLORIA: Ha-ha-ha. GEORGE: Pastors, say, "Every
morning, they're bringing you offerings." GLORIA: Yeah,
hallelujah. GEORGE: It's not just coming on Sundays, not just
coming on Wednesdays, but it's coming every morning. And here's
the companion scripture for this. GLORIA: Okay. GEORGE: I
just thought about this. This is--you can write this down.
Isaiah 60:11. Isaiah 60:11, "Therefore thy gates shall be
open continually." GLORIA: Uh-huh, yeah. GEORGE: "They
shall not be shut day or night; that men may bring unto you the
wealth of the nations." GLORIA: That's what they were doing day
and night. GEORGE: Day and night-- GLORIA: Glory to God.
GEORGE: --they were bringing offerings. So coming back to
these scriptures, they continued bringing him free will offerings
every morning. "Then all the craftsman, who were doing all
the work of the sanctuary, came each from the work he was doing;
and they spoke to Moses, saying--" And Gloria's going to
pick it up from there. GLORIA: "The people bring much more than
enough for the service of the work, which the Lord commanded
us to do." GEORGE: Mm-hmm. GLORIA: "Much more." Is he
complaining or what? GEORGE: Huh-uh. Much more than enough.
And so, listen, this is what happened. "Moses gave a
commandment, and they caused it to be proclaimed throughout the
camp, saying, Let neither man nor woman do any more work for
the offering of the sanctuary. And the people were restrained
from bringing." The people were-- GLORIA: Think about it.
GEORGE: Think about that. The people were restrained from
bringing. "For the material that they had was sufficient for all
the work to be done, indeed too much." GLORIA: Indeed, too much.
Hallelujah. GEORGE: Too much. GLORIA: Glory to God. Isn't that
something? GEORGE: Now, as a pastor, I've been believing for
that. I've been believing to see that. I know, as a ministry,
we're believing to see that. And I've been practicing, Gloria. We
have a building that we're working on right now, the
Student Life Center. We're finishing that building. You
know, we've been working on that building for 10 years, 10 years.
But we've been doing it with cash-- GLORIA: Cash. GEORGE:
--not going to the bank, not borrowing the money. So we are--
GLORIA: Boy, that seems like a long time, but then how long
would it take to pay it off? GEORGE: How long would you be
paying it off? GLORIA: And how much extra would you have to put
in? GEORGE: Yes, ma'am, that's exactly-- GLORIA: You don't want
to know. GEORGE: That's exactly right. So even-- GLORIA: Now
listen--listen to what this says. GEORGE: Yeah, go ahead. Go
ahead. GLORIA: The New Living says there-- GEORGE: Yeah.
GLORIA: --"Their contributions were more than enough to
complete the whole project." GEORGE: Wow. GLORIA: George,
say, "The whole project." GEORGE: The whole project.
GLORIA: Hallelujah. GEORGE: The whole project. GLORIA: Isn't
that good? GEORGE: "Their contributions were more than
enough--" GLORIA: Verse 7 in the New Living. GEORGE: New Living,
"--to complete the whole project." GLORIA: Hallelujah.
GEORGE: That's more than enough. GLORIA: Oh, that's a good God.
GEORGE: That's more than enough. And the building--I was going to
tell you, the building that we're working on, of course, the
way we have it structured, the construction company is working
on it, and each month has been--has been budgeted for a
certain amount of money that they are--they're building. And
so money has been coming in for the building. And now the
month--there's several months that are already paid for. Like,
on my report that I get, this month has a zero next to it
because we don't need anymore money for it. That month is
taken care of. GLORIA: For that month. GEORGE: For that month.
It's all done. The next month--and there's about three
months like that, and then there's another month a little
later on that there's some money that's due. But here's the point
that I'm making. I'm practicing in our church, I told the
congregation that--and I told them what months are paid for.
Now, I said, "If you come to me and tell me, 'I want to give an
offering to the building for one of those months,' I'd have to
restrain you. I'd have to say, 'No, I can't receive that. That
would be too much. That would be too much for that month because
it's already paid for.' Now, you can give to other months--"
GLORIA: For another month. GEORGE: Another month. GLORIA:
Well, you had me concerned there for a minute. GEORGE: No, that
particular month. Like, I'll give you a for-instance. The
month of June. The month of June is paid for. GLORIA: Praise God.
GEORGE: We have all the money in the bank to cover-- GLORIA: The
work. GEORGE: --what we need--the work that's going to
be done. So what am I doing? I'm practicing, as a pastor,
restraining my people from giving to that month. Now,
again, I told them-- GLORIA: Restraining--think about it,
"Restraining my people from giving for that month." GEORGE:
That's right. GLORIA: Well, now, that kind of what this says,
"There was plenty of material for all the work to be done,
enough and more than enough." That's what they said. GEORGE:
"Enough and more than--" That's right. GLORIA: "Enough and more
than enough." GEORGE: That's right, that's exactly right.
GLORIA: Hallelujah. GEORGE: So we see here-- GLORIA: That's
good. GEORGE: --that's more than enough. What is more than
enough? Well, you don't need anymore-- GLORIA: At the moment.
GEORGE: --at the moment. It's more than enough. GLORIA: Or
this week. GEORGE: Or this-- GLORIA: Or this month. GEORGE:
Yeah, yeah. GLORIA: More than enough for right now to keep
working. GEORGE: But we have to think that way. GLORIA: But
we're not opposed to having more than enough. GEORGE: No, not at
all. As a matter of fact, I was going to say, we have to think
that way because, in so many instances, we have--we have
experienced lack in our lives where there wasn't enough.
GLORIA: Yeah. GEORGE: There wasn't enough in there. There
wasn't a surplus in there. There wasn't enough to be able to do
things beyond-- GLORIA: That's right. GEORGE: --where you are.
So that's what God wants us to have. That's what we're breaking
into. It's a revelation, really. GLORIA: Without borrowing money,
that's the-- GEORGE: Without borrowing money. GLORIA: That
makes a whole different ball game out of it. Ha-ha-ha.
GEORGE: It is. And it's--you have--we--what we're doing,
Gloria, here together is we are renewing our minds to something
that maybe people have not thought of, or they not thought
was possible because in so many instances, there are people that
they're just living from moment to moment. They don't have
enough. They don't have enough to do something that they might
want to do next month. They don't have enough to do things
that may have to do things this month. So we're breaking through
a mentality and going on over into the arena of "God is more
than enough." GLORIA: Amen, yeah. GEORGE: And it's proven
out here. Let's look at this. This is John 6:11-13. We just
talked about too much offering. Now we're going--we're going to
talk about too much bread and fish. GLORIA: Okay. GEORGE: Too
much. And in this, in the NIV, go ahead and read that, Gloria,
Verses 11-13. GLORIA: "Jesus then took the loaves, gave
thanks, and distributed to those who were seated as much as they
wanted. He did the same with the fish. When they had all had
enough to eat, he said to his disciples, 'Gather the pieces
that are left over. Let nothing be wasted.' So they gathered
them and filled twelve baskets with pieces of the five barley
loaves left over by those who had eaten." GEORGE: Mm-hmm.
GLORIA: Isn't that something? GEORGE: So that's--that is a
demonstration there of, again, this little boy had a
fish-and-loaves lunch. GLORIA: Mm-hmm. GEORGE: And he--he sowed
it into the ministry of Jesus. Jesus took it and, through the
disciples, began to multiply that. He actually--He lifted it
up. And you think about this, Gloria. Jesus lifted that up,
and He blessed it. Now, I don't think it was one of the
blessings that are traditionally said at a table. I take it
literally. I believe that He lifted it up. GLORIA: Increased
it. GEORGE: He said, "Be fruitful, multiply, replenish,
subdue. We have authority over this, and we believe for the
multiplication of it right now." GLORIA: Amen. GEORGE: And then
He gave it to His disciples, and the disciples just--don't we
realize how miraculous that was that day? GLORIA: It just kept
multiplying. GEORGE: It just kept multiplying and multiplying
and multiplying. And it wasn't just enough. It wasn't just
enough to feed everybody. GLORIA: No. GEORGE: "Well,
that's it." And, you know what, Gloria? The people, it says,
they were full. They got full. GLORIA: They got all they want.
GEORGE: They got all they wanted. GLORIA: They had more
than enough. GEORGE: More than enough. But there were 12
baskets full left over. GLORIA: That's more than enough. GEORGE:
These weren't little teeny baskets. These weren't like this
little fruit plate here, no. I envision that they were these
huge, huge baskets that were overflowing-- GLORIA: Well, that
was a lot of people. GEORGE: --with the fish and the loaves.
It was too much. It was too much. GLORIA: Deuteronomy 28:11,
The Voice translation, I'm not familiar with that, but it says,
"The eternal will give you more than enough of every good
thing." GEORGE: Isn't that a great-- GLORIA: I believe that
with all my heart. GEORGE: That's a great, great scripture.
GLORIA: Yeah. GEORGE: I found that scripture a few weeks ago.
I'd never seen it before. GLORIA: I have never seen it
until this morning. GEORGE: "The eternal will give you more than
enough of every good thing." GLORIA: That's right. GEORGE:
Living in the overflow, we pay our tithes-- GLORIA: Yeah.
GEORGE: --we give our offerings, we pay our bills with more than
enough left over. GLORIA: Now, that's scriptural right there.
GEORGE: That is scriptural. GLORIA: Too much, more than
enough. GEORGE: Too much. Too much. You know-- GLORIA: Not
hand to mouth, too much. GEORGE: Speaking of fish here, let's
talk for a moment about the catch of fish. Jesus was on the
side of the shore. He asked Peter if He could borrow his
boat. They pushed the boat out, and Jesus began to preach. And
as you remember, as Jesus was preaching, he--Peter was talking
about not catching any fish. And, really, I've done some
study about this and just seen some things into it, that the
fish business was really down. I mean, the economy on that lake
was down. They had--it said they were toiling. GLORIA: Yeah.
GEORGE: They had toiled. And toiled is just working and
working and working and not getting anything. And I really
do believe that day, Jesus Himself turned around the
fishing economy of the Galilee. He absolutely turned that
around. And He said, "Throw over--throw your nets over."
And, of course, we know that he threw the net, and he threw the
bad net, the one that he hadn't washed. He was not--he was
saying, "Yeah, yeah, okay. I'll do that." Well, he threw that
over. And, Gloria, every fish in the Galilee came up around them.
It was amazing. GLORIA: You know it was. GEORGE: It was amazing.
It was too many fish, too many fish. And they started loading
them in the boats. And the boats began to sink. The boats
literally began to sink. GLORIA: Net-breaking, boat-sinking load.
GEORGE: Boat-sinking load, that's exactly right. And if you
can envision this and see this, and then Peter was just
overwhelmed by it. He was surrounded by fish. He had never
seen this before. It was an abundance and an overflow.
GLORIA: And he was a professional fisher. GEORGE: He
was a professional fisher--fisherman. He did not
see this. He didn't see it coming. He'd never seen it
before. But there was a massive act of the authority of the
believer coming out of Jesus. Every fish in the Galilee came
up around those boats. GLORIA: I believe it. GEORGE: And if you
can picture it, they were flopping everywhere. They were
thickness--just thickness of fish. Perhaps you could have
walked over the fish because it was so thick. And they loaded up
the boats, and then the partners came, and they loaded up their
boats. Gloria, that is a picture of what God wants to do with us.
GLORIA: Hallelujah. Let's let Him do it, George. GEORGE: Let's
let Him do it. We need to throw the best nets over the-- GLORIA:
That's right. GEORGE: --over the side. GLORIA: Get the good nets
out, George. GEORGE: And get the good nets out. GLORIA: Okay.
GEORGE: And that's what we have to do. But that is the--that's
the overflow. GLORIA: Get the faith net out. GEORGE: I like
that. I like that. GLORIA: Mm-hmm. GEORGE: You get the
faith net out there, and you begin to believe and confess it
and not be like Peter who just said, "Yeah, yeah, all right.
Well, we'll do that." No. He--we have to say, "Yes, Jesus, we
receive that. We believe that, and we throw out our faith net
in the name of Jesus." GLORIA: Hallelujah. GEORGE: Father, we
throw out the faith net right now-- GLORIA: That's right.
GEORGE: --because You said--You told us to--there's a great
catch of whatever we need, and we are opening up our hearts,
opening up our minds like never before-- GLORIA: Yes, Lord.
GEORGE: --to see the abundance that you want to have for us.
We're not ashamed. We're not ashamed of the goodness of God.
We're not ashamed of receiving everything. Now, I'm thinking
about this right now, Gloria. There's been such--such horrible
things said about the prosperity message that we've preached over
the years. You know that, the things that have been written
and said. GLORIA: I didn't notice that, George. GEORGE: Did
you know that? That kind of went right by you. GLORIA: Well, I
cannot tell a lie. I did notice it, but it didn't hurt me.
GEORGE: And, you know, Keith Moore taught an amazing series
about not being ashamed of the abundance that God gives us.
GLORIA: That was good. GEORGE: We're not ashamed of it. GLORIA:
No, no. GEORGE: And you shouldn't be ashamed of it. And
you should be pressing on through to that table in Psalm
23 that's been set before you in the presence of your enemies,
and it has everything that you could possibly need. GLORIA:
Furnished in abundance. GEORGE: You're furnished in abundance.
It's overflow, and step up to the table, and don't
leave--don't leave anything on the table. GLORIA: Amen. GEORGE:
Don't leave it on the table. GLORIA: Good. GEORGE: Gloria,
I-- GLORIA: Don't back down. GEORGE: I think I preached
myself happy. Ha-ha-ha. GLORIA: George, I think you have, and
you've done me good, too. Hallelujah. We've got 30
seconds. GEORGE: 30 seconds. GLORIA: Knock it out of the
park. GEORGE: We are going to experience an abundance and an
overflow like we've never experienced before. GLORIA: I
believe that. GEORGE: Seven years of plenty. I take it, I
receive it-- GLORIA: I take it. GEORGE: --just like-- GLORIA: We
put out our nets right now. GEORGE: We put out our-- GLORIA:
That's putting out your net. GEORGE: The faith net has gone
out, and we are taking it in Jesus' name. And I wouldn't be
surprised--I'll throw this in. GLORIA: Throw it in. GEORGE: I
wouldn't be surprised if they opened those fishes' mouths and
money was in there. And they-- GLORIA: Hey. GEORGE: --start
laying out money. GLORIA: Hey, it's scriptural. It's happened
before. GEORGE: It is scriptural. Praise God. Oh, this
is so much fun. GLORIA: We receive it. We receive. GEORGE:
Praise God. GLORIA: Father, we pray for every person listening
today. GEORGE: Yes, Lord. GLORIA: And we pray over their
finances with them. We agree with them that they are in--they
are come to this time for harvest, for a net-sinking
boat--no, for a net-breaking-- TOGETHER: --boat-sinking load.
GLORIA: Hallelujah. Get your expecter out. Get on these
scriptures. GEORGE: That's right. GLORIA: If you--if you
need increase, call for it-- GEORGE: Praise God. GLORIA: --by
faith based on the Word of God, and you'll have it. God's all
about increase. George and I'll be right back.
ANNOUNCER: We hope you enjoyed today's teaching from Kenneth
Copeland Ministries. And remember Jesus is Lord.
