it's time for round eight of the bank box battle with Nickels
Hey everybody, it's Rob with Rob finds treasure and that's right we're already on round eight of
the bank box battle with Nickels you'll recall that in this battle we've got a
thin lead by Chase at 32.2 and b of a at 31 9 and Wells Fargo holding up the
rear at 27 5 that being said Wells Fargo barely got
beat last round with his best box of the series at 37 points the key here is
Wells Fargo has no buffaloes and only three Silver's in its first seven boxes
chase has four Buffalo's and three Silver's in its first seven and B of a
has two buffaloes and six Silver's in its first seven so well as Fargo needs
to pick it up no Buffalo's yet of course we've never got a V nickel in this
series yet so we're hoping for that in one of these boxes but more importantly
we'd like to see it getting tightened up I'd like to see a good box from all
three banks making a lot of fun we're kicking off of B of a cuz it has a
different style box I've already checked all the boxes they are circulated
nickels I have not checked all the Enders except for what you can see on
top of here bring this box down and let's begin the hunt Row 1 and B Ave is
striking early not in the best shape but it is a 40s nickel 19:47 out of
Philadelphia we're on Row 3 of the B of a box and as
I said in the preamble they have lent away with six silvers and in this role I
haven't looked yet but that's looking pretty silvery to me and it's gonna be
silver Philadelphia Mint 1943 on the board early with the silver out of B of
a ball over six and we've got a four in here because I see a edge that's not a
u.s. nickel
and it's the United Arab Emirates UAE I don't think I have maybe but one or two
of these so that's different for sure and I don't know if I get a year off
that because I don't read the language that it's written in but that is still a
cool find nonetheless first four into the box one rule number nine guys and I
believe we've got another silver maybe right here no it is just an odd toned
damaged 2011 that one got me I'm not gonna lie put it next to the silver one
they're almost twinsies look at that crazy pull it aside because it's
something different but it's not silver number 19 it's gonna give us a 1941 so
adult yeah well number 23 another 40s nickel and now this one the
1940 San Francisco is the oldest of the Box rule 34 another 40s nickel and this
one is a 1946 Philadelphia rule 35 a 1941 nickel here and it's a Denver rule
41 we've got another 46 here and it's also a Philadelphia rule 44 last coin in
the role was in 1940 Philadelphia rule 49 we're gonna have a 1948 Denver one
more role to go can we add a lease something else to the
hunt Ernie enroll 50 got another 1947 dinged
up Denver but it counts for points well the B of a box of nickels is hunted and
it wasn't its best but you know what it didn't have some fines a couple of 59 58
54 53 and a 50 Toodee which is always nice I'll take
that a 48 to 47 to 46 to 41 to 40s and you can't get mad at finding silver in a
box ever only one we thought we might have had a second early on but we didn't
and nothing else since but it is a 43 P and I'll take it
we also had a Ford and only 109 we have three kind of crazy Dreyer coins and
then three coins I'm gonna check gets my out and see if they upgrade not a great
showing from the second best bank for nickel boxes after seven rounds it might
drop out to this one Wells Fargo is dead last coming up next it has a chance at
least know that it can beat one box before we get to the leader chase
alright let's get into it just like the B of a box
we're on Row 1 we've got a 40s nickel early on 1948 Philadelphia roll number
11 of Wells Fargo and we've got a Canadian nickel 1983 on the board with
the foreign find roll 13 a 1940's nickel and it is a 1940 Philadelphia oldest of
the box roll number 26 and we've got a surprise
here in 1938 first here at Jefferson here's their mint mark there is a 38d
key date Jefferson in the box it's got some damage on it unfortunately looks
like someone was trying to hammer a nail into them and that's not good but still
show us pretty nicely 38d in the box same Rawls just three coins behind it
chewed up 1940 out of Philadelphia roll number 27 and I think we might have a
silver back here
we do 1945 P silver in the box and there's also another funky color one
right here they're gonna take a look as well and it's just a mm all right back
to the hunt we roll 29 starting to find some oldies
I see a 1948 Denver and a few coins behind it you can see it it's 57 but it
scores more points also in Denver rule 45 we've got another 40s nickel and this
one is a 1941 yes 46 is gonna happen ein teen 49 and ER and I don't know if you
guys can see it yep so that's a good start
what else is in there the 49 ender is the Philadelphia so no chance at the
variety view over s but that's okay we finished hard in that box of nickels
from Wells Fargo and it's gonna end up beating that last box from BMA for sure
just by sheer number of finds got a couple of 59s for 58772 56 54 s wasn't
the s over d a couple of 53 s 51 Denver kind of toasty by the semi key date 49
to 48 a 41 to 40s we got a 38 D key date Jefferson nickel a silver 1945
Philadelphia 6 2009 a Canadian and one coin that I think might upgrade in my
book we'll have to make sure it's gonna get a pretty good amount of points just
because the shooter of our finds that's to put it squarely in second but now the
leader should have something to say about all this let's get in here and see
what Chase Bank dude rule number two of the chaise box
we've got a 40s nickel to kick us off 1941 Denver
alright on the board and Ernie rolled it for five another 40s nickel and it is in
1940 chewed up a little bit so we'll take it Philadelphia Mint roll number
nine change sustained strong with another 40s nickel out of Philadelphia
as well roll number eleven an interesting find here I don't get a lot
of forints let alone a Panama balboa coin and I know it's only a two thousand
one but I don't think I have maybe one or two of these types of verses Sarah
City Oh huh interesting first for fine of the box
rule number fifteen and we've got a forties nickel and it is a 1942 but it
looks nickel not silver and it is a 42 P though hard to find and we got one same
role guys a few coins later on 1939 will there be a mint mark there will not be
still Ernie Jefferson 1939 in the box right in the same row with a 42
hopefully we're gonna get onto some goodies then let's see roll 18 had to do
a double take because I couldn't read the date but this is a 1946 Denver
pretty beat-up put me toss it back but four points sake
we'll add it to the board rule number 23 we've got a warn 47
Jefferson nickel out of Philadelphia roll 25 half way horn in the Box got
another nineteen forty Philadelphia roll 26 another 40s nickel 1941 Philadelphia
so definitely adding up the early Jefferson's good 30s fine and a good
forty two but not things special just yet but a lot of box
to go all over 30 and we've got an interesting edge here serrated edge and
it's a Philippine coin 1981 so that's really cool that's another different
foreign that I don't find too much I think I've gotten a few of these in a
mail call but 25 céntimos I'll take it
cool Ford let's get back to the hunt rule 34 another 40s nickel 1947 San
Francisco not in that bad of shape either not a bad nickel whatsoever rule
39 and we've got a 40s nickel under another 1940 Philadelphia rule 42
another 40s nickel 1940 Philadelphia lot or early Jeffersons last roll the box
and is it to say goodbye we got another 1941 Philadelphia a lot
of early forties nickels unfortunately no Buffalo's no silver and
nothing else still it's a lot of fines probably gonna score well let me get it
into tally sheet and see if chase ended up taking it and keeping it to lead well
it's official everyone Wells Fargo had another great box at 35 and a half
points but chase outdid him again at 38 points and then B of a came and lasted
26 5 back-to-back bad boxes after winning three in a row it's tightened up
the race quite a bit chase is the lead 32 point nine points BMA's falling down
at 31 3 now Wells Fargo is slowly narrowing the gap at 28 5 still two
rounds to go still technically anyone's game but I have a feeling Chase is gonna
