Hi and welcome to Whiteboard Wednesday.

My name is Allan Jørgensen, I come from Web2Media.

Today, I'm gonna be talking about opportunities

and in particular missed opportunities.

In digital marketing, there's a lot of opportunities.

There's a lot of ways to go down.

I'm gonna be talking about some of the errors

that I see often is missed and where we can see low-hanging fruit.

I have five topics for today, I'm gonna be speed talking through them so you'll be

able to get some actionable thoughts from here. So, the first topic I'm going

to be talking about is the logistics. A lot of e-Commerce shops obviously

provide logistics and you can get your stuff delivered. We see a huge increase

in return if you go from five to seven days deliveries, so that we get the

Sunday shoppers brought along as well. There are a lot of logistics set

ups now that can offer you that, so have a look at your own setup. Is it possible

for you to add a couple of days to the week? You will see an incremental growth

in your revenue. Secondly, I'm going to be talking about marketing.

Google and Facebook cover 50-80% of the possible reach

in the European countries. In the Nordics, it's closer to 80% and South East

proposed for 50% - meaning there's still a lot of percentage that

could be added to revenue if you go through marketplaces like Amazon, eBay or

60 others in Europe. Thirdly, I'm going to be talking about payments. Again, it has the

impact on a webshop, but if you look at what you offer now in various countries-

it has to be very fragmented because Europe is the most fragmented set up

with regards to payments, so in the Netherlands they expect a different

payment set up than we have in Denmark, for instance. So don't think one size

fits all. Go for the 80/20 rule and add whatever fits the local market. It's

quite easy to find these information by now, but have a critical look at how you

present yourself in the local market. Fourthly, I'm gonna be talking about

personalization. The user expects us to be communicating in actual and

relevant way, meaning that they don't want to have one-to-many offers, they

want to have one-to-one. So if you are not doing it now, you're not providing

what user's getting used to. You can just have a look at what Amazon is doing and

try to be as relevant in your communication system as well. There's a lot

of third-party tools out there that can help you do relevant and one-to-one

personalized communication, so you can start off with taking a third-party

solution that can provide that feature for you when you're already improving

your offer for the customers in that manner. And finally, I'm going to

talk about the actual and relevant subject called CSS. It's a Comparison

Shopping Sites for Google. Google opened up in their system, so the third-party

providers can now bid on the Google Shopping placements. They've done that

through a new regulation, but that leaves huge advantage for the marketeers right

now. So, just a short input - find the CSS provider that can help you get on board,

you're going to be saving about 20% of your ad spend; and get a commission from

Google as well, at least for the near future.

Beware though that you should find the see-through CSS provider, there's about hundred

of them in the world, but not all are exactly see-through how they work, so just ensure you

get one that pays all the commission to you. Yeah, I think that's it for today.

David Neal posted a tutorial titled "Using TypeScript to Build a Node API with Express."

This detailed guide walks through building a simple and secure Node application using

TypeScript, Express on a backend side, Vue and Okta (a hosted authentication service)

on a frontend.

Axel Rauschmayer posted a current state of ES modules in Node.js and an implementation

road map, including extended support of CommonJS.

The stable release is going to be shipped in Node version 14.

A baby is something very special, bringing joy and happiness to life.

In most cases,

a certain routine soon develops through day-to-day interactions.

Four Things Your Demo Can Do For You - Duration: 5:51.

Hi, my name is Paul Phelps, and I'm the co-founder of outerloop coaching and outerloopcoaching.com and I am here today to

talk with you about four things you need to listen for in your demos.

The demo is a huge part of the songwriting and and the pre recording process.

You want to do demos before you go into the studio.

It'll make your songs better and it'll save you a ton of money while you're in the studio if you've got the song

already done the way you need it to be. Now, some of these ideas are experiments.

Not every experiment is gonna work.

Some of these experiments are going to fail miserably but what they will always do is they're going to

always help make your songs better.

So let's dive right in. Number one is key and tempo.

You want to try different ways of changing the keys in your songs or parts of your songs. If

your song is in a major key, try it in a minor key. Try different chords.

Try it with an Augmented seventh or whatever it is - music theory is not my thing. If you or somebody in your band

has some music theory knowledge, this is where to apply it.

Try different things with the parts of your songs in order to make them better and more

Interesting and what you may find as well is if you've got lyrics over a part of your song

when you change the key underneath those lyrics it may give it more

emotional impact and that's what you're after. So give that a try. The second part of this is tempo.

Try playing the song faster. Try playing it slower. Try playing it really slow.

Experiment with tempo and see if it makes a difference in the way that

the song

ends up delivering for you and do it during your demo process. All right, so let's jump into number two.

This isn't for everybody but it might be something worth considering and that's

instrumentation.

Some bands - it's always going to be two guitars bass drums vocals. That's it

for most bands and

probably for yours something worth considering is to try different instruments during the course of the song

Maybe a piano. Maybe it's a string section. Maybe it's a horn section. Maybe it's some EDM

I don't know but demo process is the time to do it.

This is the time to experiment with it and see if it makes a difference and makes your song better. Give it a try

There's plenty of software out there

that'll at least mimic the sounds that you might have in your head when you start thinking about other instrumentation.

You don't have to hire in a full orchestra. You can just give it a try but using the software. Okay number three.

Arranging and timing and what I mean by

arranging and timing here is different from what I talked about in number one -key and tempo. With arranging and timing I'm talking about

where in the song different parts of the song

happen. You may have your songs pretty often or always a verse and then the pre-chorus and then the chorus and then

verse and then a bridge and then a chorus or whatever it is

You may have gotten into a pattern that you need to break out of. You may need

this particular song that you're working on may need a change in how its

arranged as far as what parts go where. So try different things. Try putting the chorus up top. Try

creating a pre-chorus that you haven't done before. Try putting a

bridge and then going into a verse instead of going in the chorus All sorts of different things you can do with that.

Definitely give it a try during your demo process. Alright fourth thing

And this is the last one and this is You need to listen for

outside input. Do not keep your demos a secret. Do not make it so that

nobody ever has a chance to give you some advice on how to make your song better if

you have somebody in your social circle that you trust somebody who's written great songs that you admire -

Take their advice or at least consider taking their advice

Of course

If your gut tells you that somebody's telling you something that just doesn't make any sense and it's not gonna work

for you or the song then ignore it, but consider playing that you trust and

Yeah, consider taking some of their advice in in hand

You may find not only a potential great collaborator for the future

But you may also find that some of their really great ideas are things that you just didn't think of and it makes the song

better so give it a shot.

Some sick residents of Delta State who visited the Warri Central Hospital, located on Warri/Sapele Road, Warri, have lamented the state of facilities in the hospital.

In a video recording of their experience, which they shared with SaharaReporters, They were seen lamenting the absence of government at the hospital, the children clinic being the worst hit.

Some of the patients highlighted the number-one challenge of the hospital as lack of power supply.

Speaking on the appalling situation, one of them, Lucky Iyoghosa, who was visiting the hospital to see a friend's daughter on admission, described the state of the hospital as "absurd" and "nonsense.

"This is Warri Central Hospital. This is absurd," he said. "This is the children's clinic, no light. Do we really have a government in this place?".

He questioned the management of the hospital and the Chief Medical Director for failing to provide a conducive environment for patients.

A mother who brought her one-month-old son for treatment in the hospital confirmed the situation, adding that the hospital does not even have a drug store. She added that patients also sleep on the floor due to inadequate space and beds.

"I have been here since last week and they have always been asking for money. There hasn't been supply of electricity to the hospital since I was here," he said.

"In this hospital, patients have to sleep on the floor because there are not enough beds for patients. I now have a swollen leg because of lack of space.

There is no drug store in the hospital and nurses refer patients to visit pharmacies outside the hospital to buy the drugs.".

The patients urged the government to find a permanent solution to the state of facilities at the hospital, stressing that power supply has to be prioritized in returning the hospital to full working state.

This detailed guide walks through building a simple and secure Node application using

TypeScript, Express on a backend side, Vue and Okta (a hosted authentication service)

on a frontend.

Axel Rauschmayer posted a current state of ES modules in Node.js and an implementation

road map, including extended support of CommonJS.

The stable release is going to be shipped in Node version 14.
