Only when you swim against the current,

you know what it takes to free opinion.

The units are collected in long chains,

Life Line becomes a point.

Lines, days styazhok for screeds,

Sew your business with a soul and a twinkle.

Here in prison chief - Colonel

My freedom - a radio receiver.

...I am free...

Like a bird in the sky.

I am free...

I forgot what it means to fear ...

Being different means to be always the same.

Bybiray that you, the bag or prison?

No one just does not come free,

Because it has no exit and no entrance into it.

Soda to tea was black.

Clear? Well, then pour yourself.

I are participating in some marathon sitting,

Well I have a receiver in the recorder

Like a bird in the sky.

I am free...

I forgot what it means to fear ...

Tea, cigarettes, answers to questions,

The interrogations, interrogations again,

My receiver - one-way communication,

I can not say, but I hear.

Dim Sum and Curry Brisket Noodles — Amazing Hong Kong Food and Attractions! - Duration: 26:37.

- [Mark] I also got a curry with tendon.

Oh, that looks fantastic.

Okay, I'll get a little bit of everything in this bite.

(light music)

Good morning, everyone.

It's Mark Wiens with migrationology.com in Hong Kong.

Ying and I didn't have the best sleep last night.

We woke up at about 2:30 am and have been awake since,

but that's not because the bed isn't comfortable,

the bed is ridiculously comfortable, it's like a cloud,

but just due to the traveling and the jet lag.

But the good news is it is a fresh day in Hong Kong.

We're gonna go have breakfast right now.

Oh, that's the other thing.

We woke up hungry too,

so we've been waiting for breakfast.

And right now, it's 6 am.

(coffee machine whirring)

They have a real mix of food,

from all the different cured meats and salmons

to jamon, (snickers) more ham,

and then also some Chinese things as well.

This is ham like being back in Spain.

And then we got ham, some salmon.

I got some nuts, some Chinese food,

and this is what I need to try first,

is the shumai.

Mmm.

Oh, huge pieces of shrimp in there.

Then also some braised eggplant, I think.

Mmm.

That is really creamy.

This is Europe and China on a single plate.

And then we got some dill salmon.

I think I've had my share of salmon on this trip so far,

and I don't regret any bite of it.

This is a different type of salmon here.

This is so good though

I'm gonna have to go back for more of these.

Mmm.

It's packed with shrimp.

Breakfast was a wonderful success.

And I like how they also have coffee you can take to go,

so I wasn't gonna miss the opportunity.

Right after breakfast, I was thinking of going up

to Victoria Peak, at least that's what I was

thinking about doing this morning,

but it is rainy, it's cloudy.

There's zero visibility, so I guess

that's not gonna happen this morning.

(ticket machine beeps)

Sheung Wan.

(ticket machine beeps)

(fare machine beeps)

The weather has not let up.

It is still raining, so we are jumping on the subway.

We're heading up a couple stations

and on our way to go eat.

(light music)

It looks like it's just gonna drizzle all day long.

(light music)

(diners buzzing)

We made it to Lin Heung Tea House.

This is one of the classic dim sum restaurants in Hong Kong.

And what I love so much about this place

is you're just walking along the street in Hong Kong

and then you come up the flight of stairs.

No matter what time of day you come here

or no matter if it's raining or shining,

there could be, like, horrible weather outside,

and this place will still be packed.

So you just walk in here, you find empty tables,

you share tables with wherever you can find empty seats.

(exhales)

And for ordering here, they push the dim sum around on carts

and every now and then, they will bring out a fresh cart

full of steamed dim sum.

And you do have to kind of be aggressive.

So right now, I'm waiting for a fresh cart

of dim sum to arrive, and I'm gonna pounce upon it.

And then they mark down all that you order

on this check sheet here.

(diners buzzing)

(man speaking in foreign language)

(diners buzzing)

It's just an awesome environment in here,

but it is kind of challenging because right now,

it seems like they're not bringing that many dishes out.

So as soon as they bring out a cart full of food,

you have to run up,

and you're not sure exactly what they'll have.

I managed to get rice, and this is in a lotus leaf.

And I don't think it's the sticky rice that I normally,

like glutinous rice that I normally really like for dim sum,

but this is maybe a different version.

Rice, looks like there's some ham in here

and some shrimp and egg.

Mmm.

That's just like fried rice

and then maybe re-steamed in the lotus leaf.

(diners buzzing)

- You want?

- [Mark] What?

- You want?

- [Ying] Get one, get one.

- I managed to get one of my lo mai gai.

These are not exactly the ones I really wanted,

but the demand is so high right now

that you cannot be too choosy.

You gotta just take what comes.

But luckily, ah, this is what I wanted in the first place.

I didn't really want that fried rice in the lotus leaf.

What I want is lo mai gai, which is glutinous rice

steamed in a lotus leaf,

and it's one of my absolute favorites.

(snickers) That glutinous rice.

The lotus leaf is so fragrant.

And in here should be maybe a mixture

of meat and also maybe some Chinese sausage.

Oh, that gooeyness.

Since I've been a kid,

I have always loved to eat dim sum,

and I always used to go to eat dim sum

with my parents and my relatives,

and this has always been

one of my absolute favorite things

maybe in the entire world.

And I'd really like some chili sauce,

but it is very challenging to get a hold of anyone

to try to get some chili sauce,

so I'm gonna take my first bite

and then I'll see if I can get some chili sauce.

Oh.

That sums up

comfort food to me completely.

The rice is so gooey,

and it's almost like saucy.

But what I love so much about it

is how that lotus leaf is like...

The flavor of that lotus leaf

is embedded into that rice,

giving it like a little bit of an earthy green taste.

This is some kind of feet.

And I'm pretty sure it's not chicken feet.

It's either like duck feet or goose feet

because you can see that entire web.

And these look like they are very soft and tender

and braised for a long time.

That's definitely a web.

It's very soft.

It almost has like a noodle texture to it

because it's so soft.

And then it has that very long slow braised flavor to it.

That web.

Oh, knuckles.

And then you do have to remove all those little

foot bones.

This is a huge wrap.

There's, I think, some...

I think it's a Napa cabbage,

and then there's some sausage in here.

There's a mushroom, there's something.

I'm not totally sure what's all in here,

but that is a huge cabbage wrap.

This is gonna be really hot.

And it's kinda falling apart.

Mmm.

It has a little bit of a ginger taste to it.

I think this piece is fish cake.

I managed to get some shrimp dumplings.

I think these are har gow fresh out of a steamer.

I need to go look for some chili sauce though.

Okay, that was only partially successful.

I kinda ran around the restaurant for the last 10 minutes

trying to find chili sauce,

and I got some kind of red sauce,

and then I also came away with some mustard.

Mustard I do love.

I'll go for one of the shrimp har gow.

And I'm gonna dip into the mustard.

Mm.

Mmmm.

Just filled with shrimp

and then just with a glutinous wrapper.

Now I'll try some of the chili sauce,

put some of this onto the rice.

Mmm, mmm.

Oh, that is a little bit spicy and sour.

Okay, I've got one final foot to go.

I think I like it better than chicken feet

because there is more skin

to this web than a chicken foot.

I would call that semi-successful with the dim sum.

And then once you're done,

you take your check card,

and these are all of the dishes that I ordered

that she marked down.

And then you go up to the front and pay.

This place just has so much character.

The thing is it can be a little bit challenging

to eat here because you have to really be

both patient and aggressive,

and sometimes you don't get to eat

the different dim sums that you were really hoping to eat

because, number one, they just don't come out

and you might have to sit there for a long time

and wait for it, or, number two,

you get to the cart and they're already gone.

They've just been pounced on.

But anyway, how can you not appreciate

that exciting atmosphere in there?

Today was one of those days that I didn't exactly get to eat

all of the dim sum that I wanted to eat, but that's okay.

You just cannot beat that classic atmosphere.

From here, I was thinking it would be a great idea

to go have some brisket noodles next.

(light music)

And they are very, very well known

for brisket noodles and brisket curry.

And they open at 12:30.

It's about 12:15 right now,

and there is a line of about

maybe like 100 people.

(snickers) I'm now trying to decide right now

if I should wait in line.

I guess we don't really have anything else to do.

(machine whirring)

(diners buzzing)

We made it inside and we came upstairs.

The wait to get in here did not take too long,

but luckily, they have a bottom floor and then a top floor,

and then they really pack you in here on round tables

and just sharing tables.

And then I just ordered one of the brisket noodles,

and then also, I got a tendon with curry and noodles.

(diners buzzing)

It is extremely tight quarters in here,

and we are all eating family style,

but I will do my best to vlog all about it.

We got two different dishes to share, Ying and I.

One of them is the brisket noodles,

which is one of their classic dishes,

and that's what they are very well known for.

But then I also got a curry with tendon,

and I think it came with some shredded brisket as well

and yeah, I'm about to dig in to both of them.

I'm gonna begin with the tendon and the curry,

and then there are rice noodles on the bottom here,

and also there's pieces of, I think this is brisket as well.

Oh, that looks fantastic.

Okay, I'll get a little bit of everything in this bite.

Mmm, yeah, you can smell a little bit of the curry powder

and like a little bit of a maybe cinnamon aroma to it.

Mmmm.

Okay, that is awesome, yeah.

Wow, that's good.

Okay, so it's just a little bit spicy.

You can taste that curry powder.

Maybe there is like a star anise in there as well.

There's also some kind of an herb taste to it as well.

Yeah, that is ridiculously good though.

That is awesome.

Let me try one of those pieces of tendon.

That is a pretty significant nugget of tendon.

Yeah, that is good tendon, and it has a,

a gelatinous texture of course,

but it's like it soaked up all of that curry flavor.

- [Ying] Oh my God.

- [Mark] Let me try to dig down now

into those noodles below there.

Mmm.

That has a really nice, like,

herb curry flavor to it as well.

The classic brisket noodles now.

I just gotta have a piece of that brisket first.

Oh wow.

That brisket is amazing.

It's tender, but it has like a little bit

of a stringy texture to it.

You can taste the beef in it,

and then it just tastes like here,

with the green onions and then...

And I think that broth is just a very kind of

plain soothing broth, but it's all about that brisket.

(slurps)

Let me grab that spoon

and I'll just taste that soup.

Mmm.

Okay, actually tasting the soup on its own,

it has a very, very rich flavor to it.

I think it's beef-based.

I'm not really sure, but it does have

like an umami component to it.

It's salty.

It's a little bit sweet.

And yeah, you can taste that meatiness.

I'm gonna try some of this chili sauce.

Mmm.

Oh, that chili sauce is good.

It's salty and a little bit spicy.

It goes great with that beef.

- [Woman] Okay?

- [Ying] Yeah.

- [Mark] Okay, thank you.

- [Woman] Buh-bye,

buh-bye, buh-bye. - Thank you.

- Exit is on the right side.

I'm glad we waited in line.

And the line didn't take too long.

So even if you see a line when you come here,

don't be intimidated.

It goes pretty fast because

they just cram people into the restaurant.

I think we were sitting at just a little round table.

It couldn't have been more round than my arm span.

And they put six of us on that table,

and then the entire place was just packed.

And then people mostly just go in there

to slurp down their bowl of noodles and then leave,

so the line goes fast.

I think I would go for the...

Actually, I liked both of them,

how they were so different,

but the curry noodles with that tendon,

that was the winner for me.

(light music)

Since we are in this area,

I thought we would stop by a temple next,

which is just down the road.

(light music)

This is the Man Mo Temple,

and it was built between the years of 1847 and 1862.

It is a Taoist temple, and it's just surrounded

by sky-rise buildings rising through the sky.

And I'm gonna go take a look inside real fast.

It's very peaceful and quiet in here.

And on the top ceiling there,

there are just coils of incense

that just continuously burn.

(light music)

It's not a huge temple,

but on that plaque board behind me,

it says that it's a monument because it demonstrates

traditional Chinese vernacular architecture,

and especially the ceramics and the murals

and the architecture of the temple.

Form here, Ying and I have decided

to go back to the metro,

and we're gonna head back to the hotel for a little while

and try to maybe rest.

We're starting to get sleepy.

Maybe it's that food or maybe it's the jet lag.

But we're going back to the hotel for a little while

and then going out again for dinner tonight.

(light music)

(fare machine beeps)

We made it back to Admiralty,

and all at once, I am feeling extremely groggy.

(light music)

I slept for two hours.

It was so hard to wake up.

But when I got up, the sun is shining.

It's pretty clear.

So Ying is back at the hotel, still resting,

but I'm gonna use this opportunity

to go to the top of Victoria Peak

for the view of Hong Kong.

(light music)

My happiness to go to the top was a little short-lived.

I have been met by a line

that literally stretches down the highway.

There must be thousands of people before me.

I'm not sure how long it's gonna take.

I would just walk to the top of the hill

because I like to hike,

but I wanna take the funicular, the Peak Tram

for the experience to ride up

because it's a real classic funicular.

So I'm gonna stand in line,

see how fast the line goes.

I guess I am not the only one

who waited out the rain this morning

and waited for sunshine this afternoon.

I have decided to ditch the tram.

That's gonna take hours to wait in line,

and I think I can make it up by walking

maybe in less than an hour,

so I'm on my way hiking.

Plus, I could use the exercise.

Hello.

- Hi.

(light music)

- It is incredibly humid in Hong Kong.

I'm starting to drip with sweat.

But I am very glad I made the decision to walk.

I'd much rather be hiking and getting a workout

than standing in line waiting for the tram.

(light music)

The sign back there said I have a 30-minute walk to the peak

but I'm not so sure I took the most direct route.

I was trying to follow the funicular at first,

but then it got all confusing in the lanes.

But anyway, I am on the right course now.

(light music)

I made it to the top of the peak.

I am just dripping, covered in sweat right now.

But I am very glad that I did not wait

for the tram, the funicular.

That took me exactly 35,

in between 35 and 40 minutes to get to the top.

I did make a wrong turn,

but then I really did kinda huffed and puffed it

all the way to the top

because I wanted to beat the light,

and there is still a little bit of light.

It's not quite as clear as it was when I started,

but the view is still pretty spectacular.

This is one of the most iconic views of Hong Kong

from Hong Kong Island on Victoria Peak,

and you can see all of downtown Hong Kong Island

as well as the other side, which is Kowloon.

(light music)

- Okay.

- Nice to meet you, Jeffrey.

- Yeah, nice.

- [Mark] And once you're up here at the peak,

you can walk around on the edge

and just enjoy the amazing astounding views of Hong Kong.

Hong Kong really has one of the greatest skylines

in the entire world.

(light music)

That was excellent.

It felt great to get some exercise

and fantastic views of Hong Kong.

And now time to head down before it gets dark.

(light music)

What's so amazing about Hong Kong

is that you can actually hike yourself out of a city.

(light music)

After the hike, I went back to the hotel, had a shower,

and now we are walking on our way to have dinner.

(diners buzzing)

Came to this restaurant, yeah,

and I wanna say thank you to Tim

for this restaurant recommendation.

This is a restaurant that serves

all sorts of different dishes.

I ordered three different dishes.

I went up front there and saw a fish.

I think it's a little red snapper possibly,

and it looks maybe steamed,

so I got one of those,

and then I also ordered a vegetable dish

as well as Hong Kong-style eggplant.

I'll begin with the fish,

maybe dip that into the sauce.

This looks like a fermented bean sauce.

Put that onto my rice,

or maybe I'll just take a bite out of it.

Mmm.

That sauce is very salty.

That needs to be eaten with rice.

(man speaking in foreign language)

(food steaming)

This is the next dish that I ordered.

It came in a flaming hot skillet.

And what type of vegetable is this, Ying, you know?

(speaking in foreign language)

- [Ying] Yeah.

- [Mark] It's either the vegetable,

I think it's the outer leaves of cabbage.

Yeah, I think that's what it is.

I'm not totally sure.

And then oh, you can really smell

like a fishy kind of aroma to it.

I think these are dry shrimp,

and there might be some salted fish in here too

and then minced pork.

Let me just taste a bit of this.

Mmm.

The vegetable is still crisp,

but you can taste that seared flavor to it.

And I think that is like dry,

dry fish or just dry shrimp,

but it definitely has a little bit of a fishy taste to it,

but that complements it.

It makes it salty, and that provides all the flavor.

Mmm.

(Ying snickers)

Whoa.

I didn't know I ordered that.

(Ying snickers)

I have to say in all honesty

that I thought this eggplant dish

was gonna be like a braised eggplant dish

in a pot as well, but it's actually slices of eggplant

which are then coated and battered and deep fried.

(snickers) And this is quite a beautiful plate,

and then all sorts of crispies on top.

There are, it looks like dried chilis

all mixed in and green onions.

I'll go for this guy and maybe black beans.

Oh wow, these are like eggplant...

Oh, it's very light.

I will dip into, I think this is just soy sauce maybe,

I'm not sure.

(food crunching)

It's really, really crispy on the outside

and then really creamy

and just fall apart tender on the inside.

And as I, like, sucked in,

I could taste those chili seeds.

They have like fumes, chili fumes coming off of them.

Mmm, it is a little bit spicy.

Those are deep friend eggplant fritters.

Mmm.

All of those green onions and those chilis

and maybe that's garlic on there too.

Definitely the winner of the meal is that vegetable dish.

It's flavored so nicely with those dried shrimp.

And on the bottom,

there are just big huge cloves of garlic

which have just been fried in the oil below there,

and they are barely identifiable as garlic

because they're so soft.

Oh yeah, it just melts in your mouth.

That was a great dinner

friendly staff and great ambiance.

It's a Hong Kong busy environment,

but it was kind of spacious for Hong Kong

at the same time, not too hectic,

good food, especially that vegetable dish,

that was the winner of the meal.

(speaking in foreign language)

Okay, the restaurant is called

(speaking in foreign language),

and they just have me their business card.

(light music)

We're in a taxi and heading back to the hotel.

I'm gonna end the vlog for today right now.

a few scratches on the car now I have a

topic about my car on the also weak form

contact with you people over there and

one of those guys actually offered me to

help me out with the scratching door i

have this where is it wait one second

this stuff

lexus touch-up pink with this paint and

polishing machine today we're going to

try and fix that little scratch it will

be a little bit of drive because this

guy lives in the North Island the middle

of the country and even though I was a

very small country is still about 150

kilometers so it's like one of your

mouth but hey driving alexis is no

Hi everybody this is Andreas from the homestead

In this video we are going to

make some delicious homemade mayonnais and

try to set a speed record. So stay tuned

What you need is one organic egg

some organic neutral oil. I use rapseed oil

White vinegar, French dijon mustard

see salt and white pepper

let's do it! We start with the egg

and then we put in the mustard

and the vinegar. Then we take a stick blender and

we are going to pour in the oil while we mix

Ready...Set...Go!

And that's it! You got your creamy

mayonnaise in just 20 seconds

Why buy it in the store?

I made this video right after I watched the

Big Family Homestead making the

delicious ham salad. They think that the

Hellmann's mayonnaise is the best

But I would say homemade is the ultimate one!

The final step is just to add the salt

and pepper and you are done!

UFO Artificial Sinking Islands Cape Canaveral Google Earth Global Warming Environment #494 - Duration: 11:03.

and so but now we're getting down here

further where are we

we're at new new smyrna beach and so

things get really really congested in

here here's chicken island

we're still looking on google maps 00

here is another one ok good grief

see I just this is by big cove so i need

to mark i need to mark this on here so

this actually looks like more i don't

know i don't know what to call it so I

know it looks man made man made man made

man maybe man-made artificial islands

i'm not sure what to call it

so anyway we've got this strange thing

going on in here but maybe it's in a

flood zone now possibly a or is this an

old foundation of some city or something

it doesn't look like there's anybody

living out here it doesn't look

accessible

that's what I wonder like are these the

old roads or are they did they plant

something out there is there food out

there is this a fish farm

I don't know or is it future development

big cove so that is really really

interesting and yeah and so we even have

yeah that that's really really

interesting so so we can assume that the

water is rising oh here's another one

here's another one so i don't know if

the government would have bought this

back or if the see here all of this

looks like see how it kind of matches up

here so this looks like it could have

been a road at one time it looks

intentionally dugout right there but it

looks like it just looks like it was

part of a city at one time I'm going to

mark this one to a let's call it a UFO

or something I

UFO all well well i didn't type very

well U F O so yeah this is really

unusual so I'm thinking this this looks

like some sort of foundations or

planting or something from the past and

let's scoot on up here

ok there are some houses up here so so

there is still people who live back up

in here and so they may be

yeah it i'm wondering I it just has me

wondering and thinking that this is land

that's being reclaimed by the water

possibly so you know i'm not going to

say that everything is sinister there is

a lot through here though

look at this ok so this clearly some of

this does look like little unless it's

part of island building

I don't know you yeah that's the part

that there's a lot through here though

oyster bay or is it farming for oysters

maybe some sort of farming for food we

can't get down there Pegman won't go

down there so but clearly something was

alive little bunches of something was

alive there on time and all of these are

dugout

you know are they are roadways that are

covered now is that pavement that's

covered now with mud and dirt and you

see this right here this is all covered

there's no houses there anything like

that there is one house here

yeah and so there's a bridge

oh this is not a bridge dock so yeah so

okay and when i look at this and I

compare it to Mars even it looks all

muddy so I don't know how deep it is but

it just plain looks all muddy to me like

a big muddy mess and that kind of

reminds me of Mars and I guess that was

sort of my point

Oh Bethune beach Oh looky here we've got

another one

look at this

it's like okay I wasn't even intending

on looking for all these today and now

I'm finding them so that looks like

little foundations of something here

do you see that so this is foundations

of something from the past I need to

mark that one too and so so since they

keep saying that the water is supposed

to be rising and we're experiencing

global warming than to me it seems like

it's a waste to do all this island

building and Oh shipyard island oh look

at this

oh this is so interesting and but but

yeah that is really really interesting

to me

look at that it's like nature just

doesn't create stuff like that in those

patterns like that so all of this is

being dug out then and maybe that

creates flooding for over here I don't

know

and here is more on orange island

okay look at this and so so what I'm

thinking then is since we're shifting to

the east then these parts are being

reclaimed so i don't know if this would

be would have been artificial land at

one time I think this is more ruins and

I'm gonna mark that more ruins but then

but I want to go down I i need to get

down to the southern part of florida

because I missed all of this yesterday I

hope that's going into florida i think

that it probably is because they're so

so so much to look at that is so unusual

and see look at this right through here

but but you know the thing that I think

about though too is like I my hope would

be and I know that it's probably not

true is that the developers wouldn't

build all this in here and that there's

not island building artificial island

building going on but you know because

it's just seems like a waste of money

and so then this is my theory

oh here's another 1 all

through here there's all kinds of them

and so all kinds of that's unusual that

is really strange and so where is this

by now

ok so all I gotta do is this is by

titusville oh oh ok yeah and so here we

are now this one is really really

strange where we're in titusville and so

which is near cocoa beach and it gets

close to 0 what's it called Cape

Canaveral okay so now we've got all this

so we've got we've cut through here

wait a second we got to barrier islands

here so we got a barrier island here and

a barrier island here so this might be

for another this

ok so this is your cucumber island this

some of this might be for another video

possibly so we've got this big cut out

spot through in here and yeah I marked

some things that I thought were really

really strange-looking but now I didn't

see these yesterday because I just

didn't see them

Oh what is this is this

oh that's a bridge that looks like a

drawbridge possibly ok but then we've

got these little dashes through here

we've got dash dash dash dash dash dash

dash dash dash dash dash and it's almost

like a Braille dash dash dot dot dot

dot dot dot dot dot now I I can it

makes sense that nature might do that

some things but this is really strange

dot dot dot dot that doesn't make any sense

to me and then there's one right here

I mean it looks like sand bars it looks

like sand bars that have been put there

intelligently and you see them all along

here all along here so so it seems like

possibly island building might be going

on taking place artificial island

building could be taking place

so we're in Cape Canaveral here right now

and yeah Cape Canaveral and we've got

the same thing going on

oh this one part was strange because ok

i was looking right here and i was

thinking now is this a former road of

some sort or is that a dig out a dugout

of some sort so we've got something

right here and I just marked at former

former road because what else do you

call it and yeah so do we have

artificial island building going on here

is this a building underwater or is this

all waterways and sediment is being

dumped over here to build these

artificial islands

yes that's what I'm curious about

because we've got from here it's like

we've got a dotted line from here all

the way over to here and then down to

here we've got this big dotted line

going on and so that that would and so

yeah so and so look at this and so did

all of this stuff just fall into the

ocean or is this an unnatural barrier

and reef that was built hundreds of

years ago or did all this fall into the

ocean and they're trying to rebuild and

put land back in there again under the

guise of of all restoring the wetlands

and helping nature and the fish and so

but I mean but I know and I've seen it

at fort pierce florida as well that you

know they throw the stuff up on the

beach the sand the sediment back up on

the beach and the water just takes it

away again so it really seems like a

waste of money so if all of this this is

the ocean in here that's not a river

they call they do call these rivers but

it's not the Indian River it's the ocean

you know is what it is

look at that that's all along here to

see all this so we've gotten away from

were down at melbourne's and they've got

all these little dot dot dot dot dot dot

dot dot dot dot dot dot dot dot dot

LAUDA: '89 Mercedes-Benz 190E ● S01E02 ● #mcr_season1 ● MyClassicRide.eu (EN subtitles) - Duration: 17:04.

It's just amazing.

I drove into a industrial park.

Where there are no signs.

So, actually I don't know where I'm going to.

There is a road

through something

what reminds me a postapocalyptic zombie movie.

But I'm getting closer to some cars, so...

I'm probably right.

Who knows...

Look, there is a unfinished Skoda...

Let's look around.

Damn, where it could be?

I don't see any Mercedes.

I don't see any BMWs.

So, let's ride around here...

Anyway you told me

that this car

was a spontaneous purchase for you, right?

Yes!

It was a spontaneous purchase.

Because, of course

we all know

those advices like:

Don't buy the first ride which you'll see!

Go to look on more cars to compare!

Of course I respect those advices.

And I can say

I also kinda follow them.

But

We've purchased this car...

It arose like

One Saturday in the evening

we sat at computer, working.

And later we placed some small ads...

and after work we were looking on some cars in small ads.

Generally what's available.

Our chosen ones.

Cars that we love.

Those 80s iconic cars.

Because this Mercedes is somehow saved in my memory.

Because it was a really nice car.

And we already had M3 in the garage.

E30.

So I said:

Let's have a look what 190s are available!

With the 16V engine.

And this car just poped up to us

as one of many.

And it made us interested.

Because it was after first owner.

And it looked beautiful.

So we stated:

It would be fine to have a look on it.

So in the next week after this weekend

we called them.

Managed an appointment.

And on Friday

We went there with the money in the pocket.

With the thought that if we'll like it

we'll take it.

And it happened in the end. So...

Actually in less than a week

it was at home

since we first found it in the ad

to taking it home.

So you went there with the intention to buy a 190E.

Exactly as I Say

We discovered it in the small ad

while looking after 190s.

We liked this one.

We called for it.

And this one we picked up.

And was it kinda love at first sight?

Well

I can say that

the love

The love for this car

appeared after we took it home.

And we started to discover it.

Because

This car...

I never...

I have never riden in it.

I have never driven it.

I never knew anybody who has it in my surroundings.

So I had some informations about it.

Those you can find and read.

Generally I'm interested in youngtimers.

So I had some knowledge

What the car is it.

Also thanks to the catalogue

which I keep for 20 years in my archive.

So I knew some technicals

about the car of course.

But there was no comparison.

I have never been in it.

So, actually after we purchased it

it was the time to start discovering it.

What it can do.

How it behaves.

How it rides.

And of course you start looking specifically after the history.

What is also so nice, right?

Because until you buy it

You don't have a reason

to investigate.

Then you buy it.

You start looking for the people

who have it.

And you start to learn.

And then it goes to such a self learning process.

Which I like so much.

However because you have those catalogues which you showed to me.

What is by the way super nostalgic issue for me

because I can remember that from my 8 or 9 years

when grandpa took them from Germany

And I was looking exactly on those old catalogues of Mercedes, Ford...

And I was totally blown away, right?

In that time there were Skoda 120s or 100s.

And if you met something from the West.

It was like...

Just before the revolution.

So it was a holiday.

And this triggered really nice memories.

So I understand that you

actually to this Mercedes

have sort of relation ship?

Since the childood to this type of car, right?

You can say so.

Because as I say

From a guy from Germany

I was supplied with catalogues.

I have a really nice catalogues archive.

Mostly BMWs.

I have some from Mercedes.

Some Jaguars.

I could also find some Fords.

Also Peugeots.

I have thrown away many...

And kept only those which I'm most interested in.

Mercedes and BMWs.

And today on some fairs

I'm trying to

buy those catalogues of models I'm interested in.

Still today.

So my archive still grows :)

And specifically this 2.5litre

2.5-16

What is this car!

And we know one more thing about this car!

If someone wanted!

He can have it.

So...

This handsome guy...

Now ain't talking 'bout Tomas!

Talking about the handsome one behind him!

You can buy him! ( Click the card on the top to learn more! )

I have that catalogue for about 20 years.

So since my childhood

I actually knew

that Mercedes produced 190E

with some 16 valves engine.

That it looks like it looks.

So it was saved in my memory somehow.

And because I'm interested in cars since the childhood

before I learned to read

I looked in my dad's car magazines.

Still a really little one.

I've thrown away fairy tales with pets.

In quite a early age.

And I started to look in car magazines.

And later I started to read in it.

In my 5 or 6 years

when I was able to read a little.

But it was still about the looking.

Looking on pictures!

I can see, that you are exactly the same patient as I am.

There's a lot of us. I don't think I'm kinda special.

I think that us - the car people.

The story is too close.

You start looking at the car pictures in your childhood.

You start to feel it.

In that time - as you said

There were 120s and Jigulis in the streets.

Sometimes a Ford.

And you started to distinguish those cars.

You knew. This is Ford. This is Skoda.

It's is Jiguli, Moskvich, Volga...

You don't see those today, right?

Exactly!

Talking about this, I was such a patient

that I had a spiral notebook.

As I can remember.

Yes.

And from those catalogues

I was cutting those...

those signs of the producers.

Sure!

And you glued it :)

And also those cars.

And I was making my own big catalogue.

Sure! Sure!

And I'm sad that I dont have it any more.

So I'm pretty jealous that you have catalogues from that time.

Because I lost all these...

As I feel this.

You've actualy

sort of

fulfilled a childhood dream, right?

Look!

Yes!

But as I say

I knew that the car existed.

But I wasn't groaning for it. Never.

I can't say

that this car

is my dream.

It's like...

You just have a number of cars

Let's say 10, 20 or 50.

Which you just like.

Which is saved in the memory like

You want to drive them at least for a while.

Maybe one day to have it.

But it's nothing like you simply desire that type of car.

And that's a specific case of this car.

And when there appeared the chance

we just took it...

I don't want to say dream.

But it's like... Checking one of the cars on the imaginary dream cars list.

You checked one on the bucket list.

And for me, this ride is...

It is sort of... getting one of my childhood dream fulfilled.

Even if I am not an extreme fan of Mercedes.

But as I told you in garage

I am simply...

I can remember

that first two cars

which I was able to draw as a little one

were... Escort

and it was this Mercedes.

It was one -ninety Mercedes.

Because it was easy to draw.

Square boxes.

And I can remember I could draw it clearly in my 6.

So yes. Now because of you I am actually fulfilling my childhood dream right now!

Because in that time of course I was watching DTM races.

That gray-silver color.

And I loved it so much.

As it sat on the ground.

Of course those DTM age cars...

Look at my home

I might be able to find VHS cassettes with old TV records

From german TV.

Some cuts of the races.

Seasons - I don't know - 89... 91...

Also in Brno there were DTM races.

I think I could find them home...

So of course... E30 M3

Sierra Cosworth

and 190 Mercedes with the 16 valves engine.

Those are three - let's say - icons.

Exactly!

Which you can remember from this era.

Which you would like to have.

Well, we're just missing that Sierra Cosworth :)

To have the whole trinity.

Will you get one to your garage?

When we'll have a chance

then sure :)

I'm heading there... to Sierra.

In general

I have a positive relationship to Sierra

from my childhood.

In the kindergarten I already said I like Sierra so much.

And when I grow up I'll have one!

I stated it in my 5 or 6... pre school... that I'll have one.

Look! Welcome to the club. It was the same at me.

Just a little difference. I was calling it "Sejra" (slang expression for cheese)

Somehow I couldnt pronounce it

So for me it was called "Sejra".

Of course in this age I didn't know there was a Corworth.

But I just had Sierra... In this time it was the best what you could meet in the streets.

Exactly!

We took this amazing old Mercedes for a ride.

Sure!

For me it was really a fulfilling a dream.

How was it?

When you have bought it

did it have this original color?

When you got it or did you re-painted it?

No! No!

This is the original color. Rauchsilber.

And actually this 2.5 was made in 4 colors.

This one, silver, black and red.

And it's original color.

So as you can see it now

that's how we got it.

We only added those decals.

So it means...

when you first saw it

did it light the fire in your head?

That you'll turn it to Senna or Lauda?

It was one idea.

Because we've bought it in September.

During the winter it was maintained

it wasn't riding in winter.

It was here in the hall.

And during the spring we started planning events to visit.

We were at Legendy.

We went to Veterani na Plazi, where we liked it so much.

So we thought it would be nice

if the car would have something

what could kinda punch the fans' eyes. We want to make it shine... Kinda!

So we stated that it would be nice

as there is an interesting history of the car

of this type.

So we wanted to put it into those colors and...

Of course Senna is the most famous one. He won that race.

Race of the stars.

So we thought:

Everybody has Senna!

Everybody tends to it.

We make Lauda!

Just because the car comes from Austria.

So it met somehow...

So car from Austria. Driver from Austria.

And Senna got a bad luck :)

With all the respect. Yes! :)

We made a tribute to Lauda.

Look, when we rode, people were turning after us.

What are the responses about the car?

From the people.

Can you remember one most emotive situation?

When you rode somewhere and someone went down to the knees?

Look!

In general I can say

that the magic of youngtimers

is hidden in the fact that

noone gets jealous about it.

The price is equal to new Superb or Octavia.

Noone gets jealous.

For most of the people it's just some old car.

And talking about this specific car.

One ninety is even in this 16 valves version kinda stealthy.

So it usually goes this way...

I ride it through the city

looking if someone gets interested.

Or responses when you're jammed, standing by the bus stop.

I have to say that for 99% of people it's just an old Mercedes which the simply overlook.

And when someone turns

you usually say

Aaah! Careful! This one knows!

He knows what's going on.

But it's just few times.

If I had to remember one response.

We stopped at the gas station.

In a parking there were people by a Mercedes.

New E-Class.

They were just talking

having a coffee.

And one of them noticed me on arrival.

Filling the tank.

While I was leaving he could twist his head off.

So I said: Well this man probably...

Either he likes the condition of the car

Maybe he didn't see such a 190 for a long time

Or he knew the type...

Sure!

You indicated that this car

is without any doubts a sleeper.

Stealthy from outside.

But i can drag.

How many times are you in a traffic lights challenge? :)

Now it happened on the way back.

I can say it was a first time.

Really!

I try to drive it somehow gently.

Or I just drag it somewhere alone.

I don't need to drag with others nowadays...

I'm interested in other driver's responses. You know...

If they respond like

Yeah! This is the one which can drag!

Look! It's more like thumbs up.

It happened few times.

Going on the highway and someone is taking over in a common car...

And shows thumb up on me...

It's nice.

I think this is the second thing

beside of the ownership of the car.

You can be proud of the car.

It fulfills you by the feeling you have such a car. Icon.

That you enjoy to drive it.

It is on the other hand nice that the others can appreciate it.

Either on events

or at the gas station, in a parking lot by the store.

That someone lifts his thumb up.

Or comes and asks.

Tells you "You have a nice ride. " Or asks "Where did you get it?"

Where Love Is Illegal: Chronicling LGBT Stories of Love and Discrimination (Part 1) | Nat Geo Live - Duration: 17:38.

- I'm really grateful to be here,

and the reason I'm so grateful

is actually, you're really helping me out.

I made a promise to the people

whose photograph ... photographs

who you'll see tonight.

I promised them that their stories

would be heard,

and you're helping me to fulfill that promise.

And so, for that, I'm deeply grateful.

The last time that I was here in the US,

talking about Where Love is Illegal,

was soon after the shootings in Orlando.

And, that event was, you know ...

shocking, of course,

as it was to everyone here, I'm sure.

But, it wasn't until a couple of days later

that it really hit me.

I received a post on my Facebook page

from a friend of mine.

He sent me this clip of CNN's Anderson Cooper

reading out the names of the deceased.

Maybe some of you saw that.

He read their names, and they showed a photo

of each of those who were killed,

and they had a little story about them,

and what they meant to their families and friends.

It was really, really deeply moving.

And suddenly, those ...

The numbers became people,

and suddenly I felt a connection to them,

and the victims were made real.

The mission of this project,

Where Love is Illegal,

is about making connections.

It's about amplifying

lesbian, gay, transgender, queer, intersex, voices that have

been silenced by bigotry.

And by hearing their stories,

we get to make real their survival.

By understanding what they have survived,

we maybe get some insight and some understanding

of the true ugliness and impact

of homophobia and transphobia.

So tonight, I'm going to talk to you

a little bit about Where Love is Illegal,

the campaign,

I'll talk to you a bit about the making

of the photographs,

because I know there are some people

in this audience that are interested in that.

But what's just as, if not more important, to me

is that you meet some of the individuals

who are brave enough to be involved in this work.

This is Buje.

Now, Buje is covering his face

because he is afraid.

In fact, Buje isn't really his name.

He asked that we hide his identity

because who he is means that

he can be put to death.

I met Buje and four other young men

shortly they had been released from prison.

They had languished there for 40 days.

They were tortured in jail,

and they were lashed with a whip in court.

Fortunately, their case was dismissed,

but the community in which they lived

were not satisfied with the verdict.

They waited outside the courtroom,

armed with rocks intending to stone

Buje and the other young men to death.

Buje went back into the courtroom.

His place of torture,

now a sanctuary until the crowd dispersed.

But, his suffering didn't end there.

They went back to their families, who,

in turn, ostracized them.

Buje fell ill, and a relative came to him and said,

"God should take your life

because you've caused such shame to the family."

You know, their physical scars would heal,

but that rejection from their own flesh and blood

cut deepest.

So, what was the crime that Buje committed?

What could possibly have him tortured by the State,

nearly lynched by his community,

and abandoned by his family?

He's gay.

And, you know, one would think that

we would've moved past this barbaric notion,

that one should be killed

for who they are attracted to.

That to be LGBT is unnatural, immoral, or unholy.

And while, there are now,

thankfully 780 million people

living in countries where same-sex

relationships are legal,

there are 2.8 billion people

living in countries where consensual

same-sex acts are a crime.

So, prior to starting this work,

Where Love is Illegal,

like many people, I was a appalled

by homophobia and transphobia,

but like the Orlando shooting,

it wasn't until these abstract concepts,

the abstract concepts of homophobia and transphobia,

it wasn't until they became real that,

through meeting these people,

that I had any real understanding.

Of course, hearing their stories

cannot be compared in any way

to living their experience.

But in a small way,

when I heard what they've been through,

I felt it.

So, trying to get people to feel

is what I've been trying to do

with my work for the last 15 years

since I left my home country of New Zealand.

I've been trying to do that through

photography as a storyteller,

and as a human rights campaigner.

I've done many different kinds of work,

like sexual violence,

work about street children and famine,

and conflict,

and dictatorship,

and displacement,

and environmental degradation,

and illegal mining,

and drugs,

and prisons,

and disease,

and large body of work,

which I've been doing since 2011,

on mental health in African countries in crisis,

which I called 'Condemned.'

Now, prior to starting this work

during all that other work that I showed you before,

seeing this work here ...

You know, I was starting to question

my role as a documentarian.

I felt that I had made the beginnings

of strong, important, and work

that could have purpose.

In fact, it was one of the great

motivators for me when I

started out as a photographer,

I had this belief, like many young photographers

who go into photojournalism,

that my work could be important

and that my work could make a difference.

And I thought that maybe,

naïvely perhaps that my work,

by being published would make people sit up and take action.

And sometimes, my work did that.

But, mostly it did not,

and that made me deeply frustrated.

It was really important for me

that my work felt like it was meaningful.

So, when I started this work

on mental health in African countries in crisis,

I started it with a mindset that

my work could no longer be made solely

to raise awareness,

that it couldn't just be

to illustrate an article alone.

I was determined that it would make a difference,

and I started this work on mental health in South Sudan.

I went there to cover a referendum for independence,

and came away with a story about a country,

which was in a time of hope,

had massive challenges to deal with,

not least of all,

the psychological impact of 20 years of conflict,

and almost completely destroyed infrastructure,

and a country where there are next

to no medical professionals,

and no facilities where people

with mental health problems.

And I will move through this ...

And this environment,

the prison had become a place

to warehouse people with mental health problems.

And I move through this nightmare of a place,

understanding that I was seeing

a really devastating human rights issue.

That was really a crime against

society's most vulnerable and voiceless people.

And I moved through here thinking,

"If the world could see what I was seeing,

they wouldn't allow this."

I was thinking, "I could stop this with my camera."

I came across one young man by himself

at the end of a cell,

naked and shackled,

with this thick colonial-style chain around his ankle,

to the filthy floor.

And as soon as I saw him,

"I thought this is the picture,

this is the one that will get people's attention."

Now, most of the people in the prison,

as I moved around, were able to let me know,

one way or another,

if it was okay to take their photograph or not.

But, he couldn't.

He neither looked, nor spoke to me.

In my mind, I was thinking,

"Okay, I'm here to document

a grave human rights offense,

and that's the most important thing."

But I paused.

Here was a vulnerable young man,

whose dignity had been taken away from him,

his liberty had been taken away from him,

and I was concerned, was I abusing

his human rights further?

If this was me,

if this was my brother,

or if this was my son,

would I be okay with this image

appearing on the front page of a newspaper?

So, all of these things went through my mind

as I was crouching down over this filthy floor

with a camera raised to my eye.

And the conclusion that I came to,

because obviously I took the picture,

is that the only way that this image

was going to be okay,

is if it was made to really make a difference

in the lives of this man

and the lives of people like him.

Not raise awareness,

not illustrate an article,

but really make a difference.

So that day, in fact that moment,

was transformational for me.

I moved from being a ...

My intention changed

from a photographer hoping to change,

to make change happen,

to a photographer making change happen.

I needed to say right now,

because I know there are photographers here,

that, and lots of people in the photo industry,

that I think there is great value in photography

and storytelling,

just for the sake of making pictures,

and for the sake of telling stories,

and for recording history,

and for raising awareness.

Those are all really valuable things,

but for me,

it wasn't enough.

I came to this conclusion,

and that is,

that with witnessing comes responsibility,

and with privilege comes the moral obligation

to people less fortunate than ourselves.

I decided raising awareness,

raising awareness was not enough,

and I decided that I could no longer pretend

that making change happen was someone else's job.

So, I tell you this story about this journey,

because ...

to provide some context and hopefully

some understanding of my mindset when

I started to embark on this work

called, "Where Love is Illegal."

So, while I was doing all this work,

mostly in Africa,

I was becoming aware of a rise

in homophobia and transphobia.

And this oppressive, sometimes violent, reaction,

I think came from these conservative elements

of many African societies,

which I believe was born out of, in large part,

out of the rise in visibility of equality rights

here in the US and in Western Europe.

In this globalized world,

increased freedoms here can be seen as a threat

to those who would deny the freedoms

for people in their own countries.

And then, we ...

You have to combine that with the

fact that you would have

conservative Christian elements in this country,

who were, perhaps, felt like they were losing sway

and started to pivot towards other parts of the world,

and starting ...

had these Evangelicals sadly going to places like Uganda

and fanning the flames of bigotry.

Encouraged by these Evangelicals in Uganda,

bills like

the Kill the Gays Bill,

was brought into court and passed into law.

But we shouldn't think that

this form of bigotry was entirely imported,

there were local newspapers,

like Red Pepper,

who delighted in trawling Facebook accounts

and taking people's photographs,

and putting them on the front page to expose, in this case,

Uganda's 200 Top Homos.

Unsurprisingly, it's happened in many countries

with this kind of reporting and with these laws.

There's a sharp rise in homophobic attacks.

The same homophobic arguments that, you know,

many of us heard in a less-tolerant

era in this country, were ...

Came out.

Things like the supposed threats that gay men

have towards children.

It was particularly disturbing to see

young kids marched out in support

of homophobic laws as well.

But, later when aid was withdrawn from the country,

and just a couple of days before

President Museveni of Uganda was due to come

to this city to meet President Obama,

the law was taken off the books by a technicality.

So, while we have ... a lot of people will say that

international pressure doesn't work, clearly ...

And the Ugandan Government would deny this too,

but clearly it did in this case.

So while Uganda got all the international attention,

other African leaders also saw some kind of benefit

in attacking a community that was too

afraid to be able to stand up for their rights.

So, the Gambian Government was particularly

vile and vocal.

But, sadly, across the continent,

there was wide spread support for

these homophobic laws,

and it became a very difficult topic

for me with my African friends.

Sadly, people that I respected

and who's time I enjoyed being with,

almost entirely held these views

that to be LGBT was somehow un-African.

That it was imported by the west,

that it was a threat to the family.

Most of ...

Everyone here will probably think that

those sort of arguments are repulsive and ridiculous,

but it's actually not that big a step

to understand why they might believe these things.

After all, there was only one narrative,

and that narrative was that LGBT people

were unnatural, immoral, and unholy.

Of course, you know,

we have to also remember that it hasn't been

that long that we've had more accepting ...

We as countries, have had more accepting views

of LGBT rights.

In fact, when I was 12 years old,

my mother came to me and said that,

if I turned out to be gay that

I would always be welcome in the house,

but my "special friend" never would be.

30 years later, my mum's really proud

that I campaign for equality rights.

So, there's hope there, right?

There's ... But you know, you have to think,

what changed her mind?

She was exposed to other narratives

that countered their views, those views.

Views that said that LGBT people were not

necessarily a threat to her sons.

So, my mum gives me hope

societies and people can change.

But, these LGBT narratives are very rarely heard

on the African continent,

and the community, in large part,

is silenced and hidden.

But, this is not just an African issue.

Clearly, half of the world makes

consensual same-sex acts a crime.

And, you know, many politicians see homophobia

as a way to garner support from

the conservative elements in their societies.

This is the Malaysian Prime Minister,

branding LGBT a ...

People.

LGBT people as the enemies of Islam.

Of course, Syria is a particularly dangerous place

to be LGBT right now.

One of the Syrian men I met in Lebanon

told me that about ...

The Islamic State, when they take over a new town,

or a new region,

one of the first things they do

is hunt down gay men or transgender women

and capture means almost certain death.

Russia introduced homophobic laws.

They made LGBT propaganda a crime,

which makes campaigning for equality rights

quite dangerous.

And what followed?

Again, was a spike in attacks on LGBT people.

One group became popular on social media

for baiting young gay men with hookup apps,

and filming them as they beat and abused them.

So, in all these places,

what we have is LGBT voices which

struggle to be heard.

Hate thrives where the perpetrators of hate

control the narrative.

So I saw this single, dangerous narrative

strengthen and become wider,

and I wondered, as a storyteller,

"How could I contribute?"

NYG at Redskins Breakfast Club Special HNY 1.1.17 - Duration: 4:05.

Good Morning! Welcome to Breakfast Club Special New Year D-A-Y

Happy New Year to you all!

I pray that year 2017 bring each of you many good things.

blessings, health among others.

Cheers!

Wow! Short sleep for me. Party till past midnight came home to sleep woke up early to Vlog!

The usual Breakfast Club...you thought I would skip it? No Way!

for my NFC East rival NYG!

For the Giants today they will relax. It is a meaningless game for them.

That's what my NYG friends say. They are seeded #5 win or lose still #5 seed for playoffs.

On the other end. Washington has a different perspective. Its a M-U-S-T W-I-N!

My Redskins friend came up with this acronym "3 W's" Washington Will Win. WWW!

What am I having for breakfast?

NY Famous bagels. My friend Phil is always taking about eating bagels.

Wow! It is chewy.

My observation...

Last time we played eachother. Washington won 29-27. NYG had three turnovers. It will happen again today NYG have many turnovers.

Washington will take advantage of that.

Talking about benching payers. 22 starters 11 on offense and 11 on defense. Out of 46 active players. I feel NYG will go to their bench.

With Washington win...of course we need to keep an eye on Green Bay at Detroit

That game cannot end in a tie!

With a tie, Washington is out of playoffs. With either Packers and Lions win Washington is in the playoffs.

Other famous NY food you know...

Apples.

Tastes different?

Oh it is unsweented. It will be a unsweet day for the NYG

Washington....too needs to do a balanced attacck. Pass and run with good defense.

Last week's game we saw balanced attack.

Cousins need about 300+ yards to reach 5,000 yards passing for the year.

I look forward to lots of Cousin passes...or we will be far up ahead that we will begin to use the ground attack. Depends on game plan.

You all have a great day watching the end of the season games for many fans.

As for me this wont be my last breakfast club, Washington will enter the playoffs and I will be back.

Have a wonderful day!

I am not forgetting you Barbara, Greg and Paul!

My eyes are on you!

"Hatsumōde" and Family Time - Duration: 3:38.

Hello everyone.

So from December 29th to January 3rd of every year, many persons are off from work.

During those days, they tend to visit family members and friends with gifts.

And they tend to do a general house cleaning.

Also, during the first 3 days of January, they do "Hatsumode"

which is when persons visit shrines for the first time of the year.

During that time, they carry their old wishes to get them burned.

While they get themselves new ones called "Omamori"

and they make new wishes for the new year.

There are usually long lines on the first day of January until the 3rd day.

Sometimes, if you're lucky, you can see persons wearing kimonos, which is a pretty sight to see

This is how we spent the first day of the year.

Our daughter got to ride her bicycle for the first time, outside.

We got to enjoy some family dining.

Thanks for watching!

We saved 200 yen by using the restaurant's app!
