A local court has DECLINED to issue an arrest warrant sought for Samsung's heir apparent

Lee Jae-yong.

The court said it was hard to see the need to detain the billionaire business tycoon

at this time.

It wins Lee a reprieve from detention for the time being,... but the independent counsel's

probe into the massive power abuse scandal rolls on,... despite this setback.

Kwon Jang-ho starts us off.

Just before the crack of dawn, Lee Jae-yong left the Seoul Detention Center, as the Seoul

court denied the arrest warrant requested by the independent counsel team.

The Samsung heir apparent had been held since Wednesday afternoon, but after 14 hours he

was released, with the court saying it was difficult to recognize a reason or need to

arrest him at the current time.

The court reasoned that after reviewing the investigations so far, the charges against

Lee were still being debated.

The independent counsel says the setback will not deter them from their probe.

"The court's decision is deeply regrettable, but we will look for the next appropriate

action, and continue in our investigations without hesitation."

Lee's arrest warrant had been sought on three charges -- bribery, embezzlement and perjury.

He's accused of directing more than 36 million U.S. dollars to foundations controlled by

Choi Soon-sil, the jailed confidante of President Park Geun-hye and the woman at the center

of the corruption scandal...in exchange for government approval of a controversial merger

between two Samsung affiliates in 2015.

Watchers have been saying Lee's detention could have helped with the special team's

investigation of President Park Geun-hye later on.

Representatives from Samsung Group say they are relieved they will be able to defend their

case without their de-facto leader in detention, and pledged to cooperate with investigators

to get to the bottom of the truth.

the structure of these questions.

First one, a very philosophical question:

"Who am I?"

Okay?

So, this is also the title of a Jackie Chan movie, and it's also the title of another

movie I think from the 2000s that's also action-based.

So: Who am I?

You know, if you're ever 16 years old, if you're 17, you're looking up at your ceiling

while listening to whatever music kids listen to today, just: "Who am I?"

You know?

That's it.

Just think about it.

And: "Who are you?"

So, you know, if you meet someone for the first time or if you think someone is acting

rudely, you can be like: "Who are you?"
