Youtube daily report Jan 4 2017

Well...

Hi!

Here I am, making a video like a pro youtuber...

I'm not very good at speaking to a camera,

so sorry if it doesn't sound too natural.

I'll try my best.

The reason why I wanted to make this video is because

some time ago I started my youtube project,

and the truth is that I was really excited...

(well, those who know me know that I get excited very easily)

but the truth is that I was specially excited about this one project,

since I think that video is a format that can be really useful

to express things more dinamically.

So I really wanted to use video to communicate my ideas and stories.

After my trip videos with my drawing journals,

my idea was to continue posting videos more like this one,

talking to the camera...

I even had a finished video that was ready to upolad,

but

some months ago,

something happened,

something that was really relevant for everything that came after.

I went for some drinks with my classmates after uni,

and in my bag I was carrying my laptop

with all of my work inside

all of my illustrations and designs

and while I was distracted,

someone stole my bag.

taking with it all of my time,

all my things,

because it wasn't just the laptop,

Inside the bag I was also carrying my phone, my wallet, my keys...

And also,

a hard drive with more information.

I couldn't have brought more things with me that day

they couldn't have chosen a better day to take it away from me.

It was really shocking

Maybe you can think this is not as bad,

but for me it was as if life was punching me in the face,

like saying "let's see what you do now".

That weekend, as you can imagine,

wasn't very nice...

I had to go to the police and report the robbery,

cancel the credit card, the phone card...

everything one must do in this kind of situations.

And appart from that,

the feeling I had was horrible.

I felt like I was the worst, the most stupid person ever...

First of all, I felt stupid for carrying with me such important stuff

and not taking care of them properly.

And secondly,

I felt like...

Like someone had entered my personal space and had taken away from me what really defined my essence...

what I really am.

I would rather be asked to give them all my money,

I'd preferred that a hundred times more than giving them what they took...

my time

my things,

my work of many years.

You don't know how empty you feel when something like this happens to you,

Like...

"Now what?"

I tried to see the good in this,

because even though you don't believe it,

there is always something good in everything!

(or at least that's what I think)

Obviously I didn't see it in that moment

in that moment I was so shocked

because, in addition,

I had a work in progress in the computer

and it was commissioned by a quite important company

and of course it had taken me many days of work.

I decided to start, to start again.

I tried to recap with everything I had lost

and also trying to see the good in all of this.

I want to share my conclusions with you,

because this is the way I find better to get over everything

I think it's good that I can share my experience with the world,

so that you can see what I learned

and maybe, who knows, someone else can learn from it too.

My first lesson is

the obvious one:

We should never leave our belongings unattended,

we have to be really careful all the time,

even when you think you're in the most friendly place ever.

We have to be very careful, always.

The second lesson that I want to share with you,

is that the most important thing in life

is not any material possession.

This may seem like from a Disney movie,

but it is true.

In that moment I felt terrible,

(and I cried a lot)

but then, I thought...

At least I'm OK, my family is alright...

Thanks God that my friends were there with me in that moment and helped me seeing this

because that's what really matters in the end:

that we're ok, that nothing serious happens to our health...

At least this kind of material issues can be repaired with time.

And finally, the third thing I want to draw from this

is that

we gotta try to find, in every bad thing that happens to us,

an opportunity to improve.

When I had to start over with all my work for that company,

what I did was changing it, making it different,

I made it better.

I thought to myself: "Now that I don't have anything,

I'm gonna take advantage of this mistake

to beat myself,

to see this as a change to get better."

And that's what I did with everything that I lost,

step by step,

I've been recovering and I'm more or less like I was before,

the only thing I'm still missing is a laptop,

(I'll still have to work a bit more to buy one)

... but it will come.

In the end this is just another way of seeing things from another perspective,

of diminishing the importance of it,

and to see the good.

And... well, this is it!

I hope this video was interesting,

maybe someone is experimenting a similar situation,

When bad things happen we gotta try to see things in perspective

to see the good part of everything in life,

and go ahead!

Now I hope I can keep making videos in a normal way...

I also hope to post more nice things about trips and stuff,

and that's it!

See you in my next video!

Bye!

First training in Doha, Vidal looks ahead to 2nd half of season - Duration: 1:36.

The preparations for the second half of the season have begun.

The Bayern team conducted the first training session in perfect conditions.

While winter has hit Germany hard Doha offers temperatures around 20 degrees Celsius

and perfect training conditions.

Here we find fantastic facilities as usual and fantastic weather.

I think this is the perfect situation to train well.

This is the most important thing for us.

Three players were unable to participate in the first training session

Sven Ulreich due to muscular problems, Javier Martinez because of a mild cold

and Kingsley Coman who is still in individual training following his severe ankle injury.

Arturo Vidal, on the other hand, was full of enthusiasm following the first training session

session and spoke to us on the terrace of the team hotel where the Chilean proved he has understood

what is expected at Bayern Munich.

You have to always think big at Bayern.

Our goal is to win everything: the Champions League, the cup, the Bundesliga and the Super Cup.

That's what we're preparing for.

When I went public with the adoption, there were mixed reactions - Duration: 0:59.

During that time I had a lot of different people say a lot of different things about

adoption to me. I had people who were saying, "Why are you giving up on romance?

Because you're never going to find the right woman if you have a kid now." And

I'm like, "Well, that's not true. All that means is that eventually I'm going to find

the woman who's going to love Nolan." I had that. I had

you know, "Congratulations, that's spectactular," and people who wanted me to

update them every second of every day, to the point where I was literally getting

almost annoyed by people, literally every week, asking me, "Did you hear anything?

Did you hear anything? Did you hear anything?" And, "Well, no.

I will let anybody know when I hear something." But that can be trying as

well, when people are consistently asking you every single week if there's been a

change when there hasn't been one for months.

Incredible Crispy Roast Goose and Claypot Rice in Hong Kong — HK Travel Food Guide! - Duration: 24:36.

- It is an absolute trophy, come to

get a close up look of that!

It also comes with a plum sauce, but I'm just

gonna taste it just like this, on it's own.

(cheery music)

Really quickly, before you continue

watching this video, I wanted to let you know,

that I published a full Hong Kong travel

guide over on my blog, migrationology.com.

It includes all the details of everything we did.

Especially all of the food and the restaurants,

and all the details, you'll find all

of that in the travel guide.

So I will link it below in the description box.

And also, maybe try to link it somewhere here.

But go check that out for all

the details from all these videos.

Good morning everyone, it's Mark Weins

from migrationology.com, in Hong Kong.

It is a down pouring morning!

It's raining really hard and so

the only logical thing to do

this morning, is to go eat dim sum!

(raining)

(mumbling)

(clanking)

This restaurant is called, Sam Hui Yat,

and this is just the neighborhood,

kind of, hole in the wall family run

dim sum restaurant, in Hong Kong.

They have all of the dim sum

within the bamboo trees, steaming

right at the front of the restaurant.

And so you just pick and choose the ones you want.

I really love this place.

This one is the shumai, and then also

this one, I'm not sure what this

one is exactly called, but my mom

always called this phu jute, which is the bean curd.

And then I think there's minced

pork in the middle, this one is

the classic chicken feet, had to

go with the chicken feet.

Also got some shrimp har gau, and then

also some meatballs, and then my

personal favorite, I had this yesterday

as well, lo mai gai, which is

the treasured, sweet sticky rice.

Okay, I'm gonna begin with one of the shumai.

And I think these are, I'm not sure

there's shrimp in this one, or

mostly just minced pork.

That's salty and porky, and oily.

Oh that's delightful!

Let me follow that with a swig of tea.

Okay I'm gonna grab some of this

chili sauce, put some in my bowl.

Alright, while the har gau is hot and

fresh, I'm gonna have one of these,

these are little shrimp dumplings.

Dip this into the chili sauce, that

is just a good, classic, har gau,

the sticky glutinous wrapper.

And then just filled with shrimp on the inside.

Next up for the bean curd rolls.

And this has been one of my favorites since I was a kid.

I love that bean curd, and it may

not be the prettiest, that like

crinkly bean curd, but it tastes fantastic.

Oh I love it so much, I think it's

stuffed with, minced pork, mushrooms and carrots.

And then that skin has a little

bit of a chewiness to it, a quick dip.

Let me open up my package next.

Oh I get excited every time I unravel one of these.

Oh, I love how it just glistens!

And you can immediately smell that aroma.

Of the lotus leaf.

Peel that back.

Okay.

And you can see all of those insides

just oozing already, how sticky

and hot and wonderful that is.

It's so good, it's so comforting.

The rice is just glutinous, and sticky

and then it's gooey on the inside.

With minced meat and maybe some

sausage in there as well.

So awesome and followed by tea!

Actually now that I taste more

of that, I think it's chicken in there.

I don't know if there's minced pork,

maybe minced pork as well, but mostly chicken.

Meatball time!

Oh yes, these are some, whoa,

these are some stuck together meatballs!

That's gonna take a little bit of prying.

Alright, here we go!

Oh and I think there's bean curd on the bottom of it too.

A meatball definitely needs to be dipped into the sauce.

I've got a hanging piece of bean

curd on this meatball as well.

That's just solid minced pork.

But it has a little bit of a spongy texture to it.

And then I also had to go for the chicken feet.

Look at these big wrinkly feet!

Oh yeah, that has a lot of skin!

And a lot of little bones as well!

It's pretty good, it's very, very, gelatinous.

It's very, very, kind of squishy,

and a little bit leathery, it taste

like very soft leather.

And you can actually feel like that grip.

On the bottom of the chicken feet.

It's like goosebumps.

There's actually a lot to eat on these chicken feet.

(sighing)

Pure satisfaction, I love this place.

It's small, it has a neighborhood feel to it.

I think a lot of the people that come here

live in the area, and have been

coming here for many, many, years.

And this is a great place to

have a real hole in the wall style

dim sum experience in Hong Kong.

Well I guess you can see it, but it

stopped raining while we had dim sum.

So perfect, it's still drizzling just a little bit.

But nice that it's not down pouring anymore.

Some of you may already know this,

but my mother is Chinese, but from Hawaii.

And so I grew up eating a lot of Chinese

food, and I grew up especially

loving dim sum when I was a kid.

And so every time I eat dim sum,

it reminds me of my family, it

reminds me of my childhood, yeah

dim sum holds a special place in my heart.

And almost as soon as I said the rain

has stopped, it has started raining again.

We are back at the metro station,

on our way to central station, and hopefully

we are gonna have goose for lunch today.

(bright music)

Oh it is raining pretty hard, I

need to take out the umbrella.

(bright music)

The last time I was in Hong Kong

I ate roast goose at a place called,

Yat Lok, but some people say that the

roast goose at Yung Kee is even better.

Say that it is the best roast goose in the entire world.

It's a little bit of an upscale

restaurant I think, but I think it's gonna be

worth it, I cannot wait to try the roast goose.

This restaurant has a lot of history in Hong Kong.

It started off as just a very, very, small

local family run restaurant, and it

has turned into a goose empire!

It is such a tough decision.

I'm trying to debate right now, if I should

order the steamed chicken, definitely

ordering the goose of course, but I'm not

sure if I should order the steamed

chicken, or the soy marinated chicken.

Right now I'm leaning towards the soy marinated chicken.

I made my order for the main dishes,

but I also got an appetizer.

And they are very well known for this appetizer

as well, which is thousand year old egg.

I got a half and also served with pickled ginger.

It almost looks like a jello, I'm

gonna take some of the pickled ginger.

Stick that on top, or maybe all of it.

No, maybe two slices, and let me begin with

the egg white, which is actually like,

whoa that is slippery!

That does have the texture of jello.

It's really quite mild, oh, maybe not!

You can taste that it does have some age to it!

Let me re-add that ginger, and all

that yolk is spilling out, oh-no.

I'm losing it now.

Okay, I'm gonna have to break and

tear it together with that ginger.

The egg does have a bitter taste to it.

But then paired with that ginger, the ginger is sweet.

I wouldn't say that's my absolute favorite.

But it's not bad.

The chicken and the choy sum have just come.

And we're still waiting on the goose.

But I should just mention that I ordered tea.

And they have a number of different teas

you could choose from, I went with

some pu-erh tea, which is a black fermented tea.

And I really like it.

It indeed does have a little bit of a dirt flavor to it.

But it's very earthy, just slightly bitter.

But very, very smooth.

I ordered the soy sauce marinated chicken.

In order to get a real appreciation for

this you need have to see it really up close.

You can see how the skin is separated

completely from the meat and just

that golden, soy sauce, glaze on top of it.

For this piece, right here on the top.

I think this is a combination of

garlic and maybe green onions, and maybe ginger.

I'm not totally sure, and then oil.

Which I will apply, generously to my first bite.

Oh that's a bite to savor!

Oh that texture, and that flavor, that explosion!

Of salty, garlicky, green onion flavor.

You can really taste the different textures

of the chicken, and the skin.

The chicken meat is like, it's tender,

and juicy, and then the skin has

a very jelly texture to it, but

they're like completely separate.

And then that sauce, wow, is just packed with flavor.

Oh it's salty, it's oily, fragrant,

it's garlicky and green onion packed.

And also, our waiter said that choy sum, is in

season and I got the version with oyster sauce.

It's crisp and very juicy!

That entire stem is very juicy,

and I need some rice with that.

Oh, even the rice is really good here!

I think the grand arrival of the goose has come.

Let's welcome him to our table.

- Thank you!

- Thank you.

And on the menu, you can order a couple of different

portion sizes, and I ordered the section

of course, with the drumstick.

She brought it over, and as soon as

she brought it over, she topped it,

anointed it with a sauce, and I think

there's some peanuts in the sauce.

I'm not sure what else, there's types

of juices are within that sauce.

But that skin of that goose, is insane!

It's golden-bronze!

Roasted perfectly, and you can actually

smell the aroma of that goose oil and fat.

It is an absolute trophy.

I'm gonna start with this piece right here.

On the top.

Oh let me pull that off real fast.

Come to get a close up look of that.

It also comes with a plum sauce, but I'm just

gonna taste it just like this, on it's own.

Oh.

That is ridiculous, that skin!

It's just completely juicy, with

fats and oils from that goose.

And that meat is so succulent, and

it has a little bit of a muscular texture to it.

And with every bite, you can taste that goose.

Wow.

Okay let me reach down here for

a piece of the leg, right there.

And I'm gonna dip it more in that sauce that came with it.

What I like about it, is it's not too salty.

And you can really taste the flavor

of the goose and the succulent meat.

The quality of that goose.

And for this piece, I'm gonna dip

it into the sweet plum sauce.

I think that's a back bone!

Wow, that skin is juicing right now in my mouth.

Okay that was an incredibly fatty piece.

Maybe pure fat, we're about half way through

the plate of goose, and this is gonna

be my next bite here, you just

have to fully examine this bite.

Look at that skin, it's like a full

circle of skin, and I'm not sure, at

first I thought it was from the drumstick.

But maybe it's from the wing, 'cause the drumstick

is over here on the other side.

But there is some meat under here, I think

this is gonna be a pure, boneless bite.

With just a little bit of meat.

And look at that ratio, that entire, like

sleeve of skin, you need to just

see this as close as possible, to just fully

appreciate and just gaze into that skin.

And that bronze shimmer.

What I would like to mention, is that,

within the skin, not only is it just juicy

and crispy, but it has such a complex

flavor, you can taste all of that, marinade.

I'm sure they use a mix of ingredients to marinate it.

And then also, you can actually taste

the charcoal, roasted, flavor to it.

It's like caramelized skin, it's just an absolute treat.

That was just the perfect amount of goose.

I feel fantastic, and slightly giddy,

after eating that, that skin is just

it's a remarkable thing, it's just unbelievable

when you are eating it.

And I savored every single bite of that.

Our total bill came to 654 Hong Kong dollars.

Just stepping outside after that meal,

that goose has nearly put me into a slumber.

(bright music)

It's starting to drizzle again.

So I think it's just gonna be a rainy, drizzly day.

All day long.

So we are heading back to the subway,

we're gonna go back to the hotel for a little while.

(bright music)

I'm not sure if I'm suffering right now

from a case of jet lag, or a case of goose lag.

(dripping)

I decided to detour the nap, by

coming down to the club lounge.

And having a cup of coffee.

(loud exhale)

And this view behind me, the harbor,

the streets of Hong Kong.

(beeping)

We are taking the subway on our

way to Temple Street Night Market.

(loud incoherent chatter)

Oh wow, it is rush hour right now in Hong Kong.

(loud incoherent chatter)

At least we're getting closer.

Luckily the trains come like, every 30 seconds,

at just rush hour time, but it is packed!

(beep)

We got off the subway at Yau Ma Tei Station,

and we're gonna go to a restaurant first for dinner,

before going to Temple Street Night Market.

(bright music)

(loud chatter)

In this area there are a number of restaurants,

that specialize in clay pot rice.

And I chose to come to Four Seasons.

This is a great like, open room restaurant.

And they mainly have a huge selection of clay

pots of rice, with all sorts of different toppings.

I got the one with Chinese mushroom and chicken.

And they also specialize in oyster omelets here.

But I think I've had my quota for oil

for the day, so I decided not to order that.

But just got the clay pot rice, and a order of vegetable.

This restaurant has an atmosphere that's

similar between, a food court, and a garage.

For vegetable I ordered water morning glory bowl.

That's quite a pile of water morning glory.

And then fermented bean sauce on the side.

Okay, I'll get some of this.

And get a little bit of that, I bet that's really salty.

Yeah, it has almost a cheesy taste to it.

Very salty and then, the water morning

glory is still crisp and a little bit slimy.

But the vegetable is very plain,

maybe just plain steamed or boiled.

Because it's meant to eat with this sauce.

For flavoring.

It only took about five minutes

and the clay pot has arrived, hot and fresh.

As soon as he brings over the clay pot

they you pay for your meal.

And they have the orders written

on these little pieces of paper.

Which are kinda like half stuck to your dishes.

Oh, that steam smells awesome.

Oh it's so fragrant!

It's like a soothing fragrance.

The rice you can smell that fresh steamed

rice with a little bit of a roasted aroma to it.

You can smell that chicken and those mushrooms.

And you can see how the chicken

is almost like melted onto the rice.

What you have to immediately do is

give it a squirt of the sauce.

I think this is dark soy sauce of some sort.

Alright I'll just go for a little bit at first.

Okay what I'll do is I'll dish some

of it out into my little bowl.

Get that piece of chicken.

Oh it does smell incredibly good.

That mushroom.

Let me go in with my spoon.

Get a bit more of that rice.

Let me just taste some of that rice first.

That is really, really, smokey tasting.

And I think I got a little piece of the crust.

From the clay pot on that bite.

It tastes like the chicken has been

marinated maybe in some oyster sauce.

Before it was tossed on top of the rice.

And yeah the chicken almost has a melt-y feel to it.

This is just straight comfort food.

Chicken and rice, and a smokey clay pot fragrance.

The rice almost has a nutty flavor.

Next I'll try some of this chili sauce.

Oh yeah.

Oh, that's very salty.

You gotta use just a tiny bit of that chili sauce.

Really, really, salty.

You gotta really splash on the sauce.

You gotta like coat your whole rice in it.

It tastes so good.

I think it's soy sauce but maybe with

a little bit of sweetness in it.

And I'm just going with that rice right

out of the pot, on that crusty edge.

Yeah, with that sauce all over it,

and that crusty, smokey, nutty edge.

That was good, fragrant, a simple taste.

But I like that sauce!

That soy sauce, just a little bit

of a sweet tinge, but it's not

like the thick dark soy sauce.

But it tasted really good with that rice.

And the, like melting pieces of chicken.

Hello!

(laughing)

And that is right, just one lane over

from Temple Street, so now we're walking

over to Temple Street, we're gonna

walk around the night market for a little while.

At the Temple Street Night Market, you

will find all sorts of random things.

From electronics and batteries, to

flashlights, and clothes, and cell phone cases.

Bracelets, antiques, clothes, CD's and DVD's,

all sorts of random things.

(bright pop music)

I'm gonna go ahead and end the video

for today, right now, Ying and I

are gonna leisurely stroll around

for a little while, and then take

the metro back to our hotel.

Thank you all very much for watching

Undertexter - 1 - text på YouTube filmer i datorn - Duration: 3:21.

Hi!

In this short video, I'll show you

how to get subtitles

on a movie on YouTube.

I have started creating subtitles for

my movies on YouTube

to make it easier for you to follow.

My subtitles are in Swedish

but you can automatically

translate my texts

to a language you might understand better.

And I'll show you now how to do.

I have here a YouTube video in front of me

It is one of my videos I have made.

If I press play now,

the movie starts.

But there are no subtitles.

If you want subtites,

there are actually subtitles on this movie, "Substantiv - 1"

I have a few more movies where there are subtitles,

but you have to wait a little bit before I'm done with all movies,

and made subtitles on all of them.

But if I want to have subtitles on this movie,

I have to click here, on "Settings".

And then "subtitles".

Then I can choose Swedish if I want to .

Then I get Swedish subtitles

since I speak Swedish.

I can also choose to change language

This movie is translated

into Swedish and English.

And also Arabic.

But the Arabic text

is automatically translated.

This means that there may be many errors in the text.

But we can, for example switch to English

This I have translated myself.

But I can also choose to

automatically translate

to another language

And then it is not a human who have done the translation

Then it's your computer that automatically translates.

Click "Translate automatically".

And select the language you want.

We can, for example test Chinese.

Now, this movie will be translated from English to Chinese

Now you see, now there are Chinese subtitles.

Undertexter - 2 - text på YouTube i en Androidtelefon - Duration: 2:03.

If you want subtitles

on videos on youtube

on your Android phone

then you have to do like this.

First, go to the movie that has subtitles.

For example. "Substantiv - 1".

And when you first play the movie,

then it looks like this.

No subtitles.

If you want subtitles,

you must press the three

dots up here.

And then select "Subtitle".

Then you may only choose

to watch the movie with the subtitles

already translated.

On your phone, you can not get automatic translation

It can only be done on a computer.

But, now there are three subtitles to choose from

in this movie.

Arabic, English and Swedish.

The Arabic subtitle

it is automatically translated by me.

I've been using Google Translate.

But English and Swedish

is translated by me for real

I have not used Google Translate there.

I can now choose to display English.

So when I play back, it looks like this.

If you want to switch subtitles

to another language

press the three dots again

And select the second language, eg. Swedish.

This is how to get subtitles on YouTube on your Android phone.

Why Hollywood Won't Cast Alyson Hannigan Anymore - Duration: 4:19.

Not long ago, it seemed like Alyson Hannigan was everywhere.

But after How I Met Your Mother ended in 2014, Alyson Hannigan seemed to drop off the radar.

Now, we're more likely to see her in a magazine or doing a random blog interview than at the

movies.

So, why won't Hollywood cast Alyson Hannigan anymore?

Better on the small screen

Quick — think of an Alyson Hannigan movie not named after a patriotic dessert.

We couldn't think of one either.

"Yeah, that's pretty much it."

While many people were introduced to Alyson Hannigan as the band camp girl in American

Pie, she's even better known for being one of the main cast in two hugely popular television

shows, Buffy The Vampire Slayer and How I Met Your Mother.

Because of just how long she was in the spotlight as part of two big TV shows, it may be hard

to re-package Hannigan as a movie star rather than as someone who shines on television as

a geeky witch or an artsy teacher.

Changed public image

Like many of her Buffy and American Pie castmates, Hannigan was packaged as a sex symbol during

her initial rise to fame.

While she posed for a handful of cheesecake photo spreads, that really wasn't an aspect

of her personality she appeared enthusiastic about.

No one lounges in lingerie in front of the cameras forever, but for fans who remember

Hannigan for her geeky sex appeal, her more grown-up image as a mom might be a bit of

a tough sell.

Typecast

Whether she's on Buffy or How I Met Your Mother, Hannigan is always playing the comic relief.

As Willow Rosenberg, Hannigan often dispensed wry commentary, and as Lily Aldrin, she was

the humorous voice who could poke fun at Ted's quest to find the future mother of his children.

Her most prominent Hollywood role in American Pie isn't very serious either.

She hasn't played any popular serious roles, so most people have never seen whether she's

capable of any range at all… if they can even get past that whole flute thing.

"That's a lot of flutes."

Milking her old roles

While Buffy went off the air in 2003, fans have kept the show alive with fan fiction

and comic conventions throughout the world.

Both Hannigan and her husband are very popular stars on the sci-fi convention circuit, available

to fans eager to get autographs and pictures with their favorite Buffy characters.

This further cements Hannigan with her genre roots, potentially making it harder to believe

her as a character in other roles.

She's at a weird age

As of 2016, Alyson Hannigan is 42 years old, which puts her at a kind of intermediate age.

She's no longer young enough to be the teen sidekick she once was, or to be a newlywed

yuppie.

But she isn't really old enough to play a mentor to younger cast mates, which ultimately

makes her very hard to put into a movie.

It's not just a Hollywood illusion; Maggie Gyllenhaal, at 37 years old, reported that

she was turned down for a role because she was considered too old to be the love interest

for a man who was 55.

But still, she was good enough to be one of the Joker's murder victims.

So, Hannigan is at a strange place where she has to navigate a weird matrix of sexism,

ageism, and fan expectations, which is, surprisingly, a whole lot harder than fighting vampires

and demons with magic powers.

Busy with real estate

Actors age and roles fade away, but property is almost always a solid investment — as

proven by Hannigan's growing portfolio, which made headlines in December of 2016 after she

and her husband picked up a new home worth nearly $8 million.

The couple's L.A. pad, which was featured in the movie Fracture, is just part of a list

of properties that includes a home in Atlanta and a rental property in nearby Santa Monica.

Family time

Hannigan married Alexis Denisof, who played fellow Buffy veteran Wesley Wyndam-Pryce,

back in 2003.

Since then, Alyson has given birth to two daughters.

Hannigan is known for being very active with her family and has understandably felt the

pressure of balancing her family life and her professional life.

The late nights and re-shoots that come with major motion pictures don't totally fit in

with motherhood, but this seems to suit her just fine.

Hannigan is positively beaming in nearly every photo she takes with her family.

Nothing against any of her best-known characters, but it sounds like Hannigan may have found

the role of a lifetime.

Senior Developers: How To Deal With Them? - Duration: 6:52.

Hey, what's up?

John Sonmez from simpleprogrammer.com.

I got a question today that—it's more of a rant.

It's not really a question, but you know what?

I'm going to answer it anyway.

I'm going to address it.

This question or this rant says that, "Seniors that are not seniors."

I'll read a couple of excerpts from it, but, essentially, the asker or the ranter goes

on to say, "I've been at a company for a couple years now and I'm only starting to realize

that senior developers seem to only be seniors by the amount of time they have been there.

They always fall back on wanting to do the old (decade old) or custom ways they are used

to doing things when there are much more modern practices."

So he goes on to give some examples of like using dependency injection and then he goes

on to say that—an additional info, more ranting.

He says that, "For me, it goes without saying that to be a senior developer, you should

be participating in personal growth of your development skills.

Otherwise, how do you do mentor your team?"

So he's feeling hamstrung because he's got all these new ideas and he's studying, and

he doesn't necessarily have as much experience as some of the senior developers, but he wants

to do some of the modern practices he talked about, hexagonal architecture, DDD, domain

driven development, all this kind of things.

Here's the thing.

You're going to deal with this in the software development world.

You're going to deal with this in any world, but you're going to have seniority, especially

in larger companies, older companies, where seniority is going to be by experience, by

a number of years being there.

You've probably heard people say that you can be a developer with 10 years experience

or you can be a developer with one year's worth of experience 10 times.

That's very true.

It's going to be true in just about any profession.

I did this video that some people got really upset about where I said that I could basically

learn anything in 3 months.

You can check that out and I talked about how that I could basically get myself to the

skill level of someone that might even have 10 years experience in doing something in

just 3 months' time simple because most people, what they end up doing is they get one year

of experience 10 times.

This is just the default that you're going to have to realize.

You got to, first of all, think in your head that this is just how it's going to be and

expect that.

Now, that doesn't mean that—see, there's something that you should always try to do

which is you should have expectations for you.

You should have your standards to be very high, but your standards and expectations

on other people to be very low because you can't control other people, but you can control

you.

So when you come in to a situation thinking of that, you hold yourself accountable and

to a higher standard.

You as a senior developer or you as a developer, you expect to have personal growth.

You expect to increase your development skills.

You expect to learn the newest and latest technologies and to apply them as you can,

but you don't expect from other people that same level of commitment because it's just

not going to be there and you're going to be disappointed most of the time.

I also did a video that you might find useful.

I can't remember what I called this, but you can check it out here.

It's basically about the dark side of software development.

It's about how—it's always going to be—it's never going to be the environment that you

want it to be.

I'll try to find the video if we can here.

Anyway, here's my advice in this situation.

Like I said, first of all, hold your standards high, like I said already, but, in addition

to that, what you need to do is not come from a place of thinking that you know it all because

there is another side to this coin which is that we have a lot of fads that appear in

the software development industry and sometimes some of the new stuff that you think is the

best stuff, it's not robust.

It hasn't been time tested.

It may fade away and next week there's a new fad.

Even though you're on the cutting edge, that doesn't mean that there's not some wisdom

from some of the developers that have been around a long time.

It also doesn't mean that they're not just lazy and that they are not developing their

skills.

You got to balance that out.

Don't come from the position of thinking that you know it all and that they're just dumb

and you're just smarter and all this.

Instead, come from a more humble position where you're holding yourself to high standards

and you're trying to do the best job that you can and you're applying what you've learned

and what you know and lead by example.

Even developer that are more senior than you do things that are good, don't preach to

them and see how it works.

As you start introducing these things and they're valuable, hopefully people will pay

attention but you can only control what you can control.

Do the best job that you can and you just might have to deal with it.

It's just the environment.

But at the same time also recognize that some of these senior developers that may appear

to be dumb to you, try to get some understanding.

Ask them some questions and say, "Well, why do you do it that way?"

Say, "Well, you know, I heard of this thing.

It's called domain driven development and here's kind of the ideas about it.

What do you think about this?

I know that you've been here for a while and you have a lot more experience than I do,

so I'm curious about this.

What do you think about this concept?"

Now, you're changing the thing around.

Now, you're actually looking to them for advice and now they're more likely to evaluate the

thing that you're showing them.

Whereas, before if you're like, "Oh, you guys are idiots.

I can't believe you don't know this.

Of course—gosh, you guys are frustrating me so much because you should use DDD.

Ugh!"

If you act like that, they're going to be combative and they're going to try and prove—people

are going to put their feet down and they're going to fight you on it.

That's my advice in this situation.

Try to turn around and just realize that you're not going to always be able to control these

environments.

I mean you're just going to have to work in software development environments that are

not going to be ideal, and you're going to deal with these people.

Keep your standards high.

Keep your expectations for other people and your standards that you're going to evaluate

them by low and you won't be disappointed and you'll be doing the best that you can

because that's all that you can ultimately control.

If you like this video, I have a standard for you.

Set a new standard by clicking the Subscribe button and watch my videos everyday.

All right, I'll talk to you next time.

Take care.

Three from Prostokvashio (Eng Sub) | Russian Cartoons - Duration: 17:47.

Subtites begin at second 56.

THREE FROM PROSTOKVASHINO

CAT: You're eating your sandwich the wrong way, Uncle Fedor

You're holding it with the meat facing up, but you're supposed to have it the meat facing down.

It will come out tastier that way!

And how do you know that my name is Uncle Fedor?

I know everyone in this block. I live up in the attick, and I can see everything

Cat Matroskin is my name. It's something of a last name

Currently they're remodeling the attic, so I have nowhere to live

Uncle Fedor, did you have only one wrong sandwich?

No, I got more at home. Hey, wanna come live at my place?

Your mom will kick me out.

No, she won't kick you out. Maybe... maybe dad will stick up for you!

What's this cat spirit I smell?

I bet Uncle Fedor dragged a cat in here.

DAD: So what? One cat won't be in our way. MOM: Maybe not in your way, but surely in mine.

Just think of it, What is the use of this cat?

Why is it all about use?

What is the use of that picture, for instance?

That picture on the wall is of great use! It's covering up the hole in the wallpaper

And the cat can be of use. He can catch mice.

MOM: But we don't have mice. DAD: We'll get some!

Well, if this cat is so important to you, then go ahead and choose Either him or me!

There, there, there...

OK, I choose you, I've known you for a long time already

but I see this cat only for the first time.

My dear parents, mom and dad!

I love you very much, but I love animals, too.

Especially cats and stuff! - Yes.

But you won't let me have any pets.

That's why I am leaving for the countryside.

And I plan to live there. Your son, Uncle Fedor. - And the cat!

Hello! Would you let me live with you? I could be your guard.

Yeah, right! We don't even have a place to live ourselves

Stop by in a year, by then we'll have a household of our own.

You, Matroskin, keep quiet! Everyone can use a good dog.

Better we find out if there's a cottege available somewhere in the village.

Oh yeah, there is! I'll show you this one house - nobody lives there!

The owners have moved across the river.

Does it have a stove? - Sure does! Huge, like a half the kitchen!

So, will you guys take me in? Or should I stop by later, like in a year?

You're in! It will be more fun with the three of us.

--What's your name? --Sharik. I'm a mutt, not a pure breed

My name is Uncle Fedor The cat's name is Matroskin.

It's a kind of family name. --Pleased to meet you!

"A vacant house--live here whoever wants!"

Bless you!

Thank you!

And you, boy, who do you belong to? How did you end up in our village?

I am nobody's. I'm on my own. On my very own.

I moved here from the city. --No way! Kids can't be on their own. Kids always belong to someone!

And why is that? I am, for instance, a cat of my own.

And so am I.

And how come you are so interested? Are you a cop by any chance?

No, I am not a cop. I am from the postal service. I am a local mailman, Pechkin.

That's why I have to know everything so as to deliver the mail.

You, for instance, what will you be subscribing to?

--I'll subscribe to a comic magazine. --I would like something about hunting

I am not going to subscribe to anything at all. I will be saving money!

How come we are always out of milk?

One can die like this. We should buy a cow.

We should, but where will we get the money? --Maybe we can borrow from neighbors.

And how will we pay them back?

We have to pay back, you know.

--Well, we will pay back with milk --If we give away the milk, why get the cow?

Well... The we should sell something of ours.

Like what? - Something useless.

In order to sell something useless, we need to buy something useless first.

And we don't have the money!

How about if we sell you, Sharik? - What do you mean, sell me?

We're not going to sell anyone. We're gonna go treasure hunting.

Hooray! Umm... what's "pleasure"?

Why didn't I think of a treasure hunt myself?

Now we'll be able to buy a cow. And we won't have to work in the garden anymore.

Now we'll be able to buy everything at the market.

At the store, too. It's better to buy meat at the grocery store.

Why is that? - They got more bones!

Hooray! - Hooray, Pleasure!

Give it back! Return it I said!

Gotcha! That bird stole my Olympic coin.

It should be taken to the clinic for experiments.

No need for the clinic.

We'll take care of him and teach him how to speak.

What do you guys have in this chest? - We just went mushroom picking. Got it?

Sure, got it, What's not to get?

They should have brought a suitcase instead.

It's all your fault! You let him do everything and he got spoiled.

He just loves animals, so he left with the cat.

You gotta have dogs and cats and a whole lot of friends and games at home.

Then children won't go missing. --The the parents will start to go missing!

I already get tired at work. I barely have time to watch some TV.

So don't sell me your nonsense.

Instead, tell me how to find our boy!

We should place an ad in the newspaper.

Boy missing: Uncle Fedor, 47 inches tall...

If you find him--please let us know.

Ahh...I think we are feeding him for no good reason. Let him be of some use then.

Well, say: "Who's there? Who's there?"

Say, Who's there? Who's there? Who's there?

Don't you have anything better to do?

Why don't you teach him some song, or maybe a poem.

I can sing songs myself, only they are pointless.

And what's the point of your "Who's there?" -

There is. - What is it?

Imagine a stranger coming to our door when there is nobody here --yeah?

He'll knock on the door, the bird will ask him "Who's there?"

The stranger will think that someone is home

And he won't steal anything here. Got it?

Who's there? Who's there? - Hooray, it worked!

Who's there?

It's me, mailman Pechkin. I brought an article about your boy.

Who's there?

It's me, mailman Pechkin. I brought an article about your boy.

Who's there? - NO ONE!

It's me, mailman Pechkin. I brought an article about your boy.

Who's there? Who's there? Who's there?

Who's there? Who's there? Who's there?

Who's there?

It's me, mailman Pechkin. I brought an article about your boy.

Boy missing: Uncle Fedor, 47 inches tall...,

sought by his parents.

whoever finds him gets a reward--a bike.

Don't be sad, Uncle Fedor! There's lots of boys like that around

Maybe many. But not for all of them you get a bike either.

Now I'm going to take measurements of your boy.

My mom and dad, I live very well.

Simply excellent!

I have everything... Whoa!

My mom and dad, I live very well. Simply excellent.

I have everything. I have a house. It's warm. It has a room and a kitchen.

I miss you very much, especially in the evenings.

But my health is not so great.

Either my paws are aching, or my tail keeps falling off.

And the other day I started to shed.

The old fur is coming off all over the house.

But the new fur grows in its place clean and silky

Thus my shagginess has increased.

So long, your son--Uncle Sharik.

What did he say increased? --Shagginess.

Now he can sleep on the snow in the winter.

I don't understand anything. Maybe we've lost our minds?

Maybe it's our shagginess that's increased? And it's us who can sleep in the snow?

We can't lose our minds both at once! People lose it one at a time!

It's only the flu that people get together all at once.

Hello! I am mailman Pechkin from Prostokvashino.

Are you the ones who give bikes in exchange for a boy?

--It's your fault that Uncle Fedor has fallen ill. --Why mine?

"Why mine, why mine?" You're the one who fed him cold milk

You even boasted: "look what cold milk my cow yields!"

"No need to buy a fridge"!

--Who's there? - Family. - Family.

In this weather, family stays home and watches some TV.

Only the strangers are out and about. We're not opening the door!

You see the condition they've put your child into.

They must be sent to the clinic at once... for experiment purposes.

Where do you keep raspberry? - Here you go, please.

Wow, I never knew that cats could be so intelligent!

I thought they only knew how to shout in the trees.

Big deal...I even know how to sew

...and can even work on the sewing machine.

You do as you please, son, but we're taking you back to the city. You need to be taken care of

And if you want to take the Cat or Sharik, bring them right along!

We have no objections. - Well, Matroskin, will you come?

I would, if I were alone. But what about my cow and the household?

And you, Sharik? - We're gonna stay.

Better if you come visit us on vacations.

And on the weekends.

Hold on! Hold on!

Here, take him!

It will be more fun with him. - Who's that there?

It's me, mailman Pechkin. I brought a comics magazine.

Oh, how rude of us... We completely forgot about Pechkin.

That's ok, he is so annoying. - Excuse me, why was I annoying?

Because I had no bike. But now I will instantly become kinder

And I'll adopt some pet to make life merrier.

You come home... and it's just happy to see you.

Come visit us in Prostokvashino!

More Memos to Myself \\ Jason .Rivera - Duration: 5:01.

So I had something to talk about today but the thing is I did not write it down anywhere

And what happens when you do not write things down is you forget them.

So what I am going to do today is tell you all of the things that I have written down

in my memos here I have done this video before but there are hundreds more Memos in here

that I think are kind of hysterical so I am going to read more of these okay, this one

just says December 5 3 o'clock.

I started writing this thing where I was going to make a video about it but there is not

enough stuff to write so it's just kind of an open-ended thing so I will type out haha

all the time and texting all the time almost every single message I will see haha or I

will say if hahahahaha I wanted to really convey that I am really laughing no I am probably not

laughing I also write a Gnighters I never say this in person I will never ever other

than right now say gnighters in person I won't but if I am texting someone I will

say gnighters for no reason and then also I write ellipses all the time and I guess that works all the

time then saying like what I just did like that...

I guess that works but overall I started making this life hacks memo and I only have one thing

on it and it's putting out candles with the lid or a coaster so if you put the lid on

top of it the candle will die out because it has no oxygen to pull from anymore so it

dies out and then the smoke clouds up inside at the little glass things so there is no

smoke that goes out in the air and you still have the candle smell instead of the smell

that smoke everywhere also by doing that you don't get any of the black stuff that like

floats inside of the wax so there you go there is a life hack for you...I... I also have

a memo that says 203.10

there is 1827 I just don't get how I think that I am going to remember what I mean

later I just don't know my gosh so because I say hi guys or say hello everyone in my

videos often I was calling Walmart and someone says hi this is the deli how can I help you

and then I legitimately without thinking about it just said hi guys oh no and then I just

kept going with the conversation but that was the weirdest thing ever and yeah I actually

said hi guys to a woman in the deli section and then she continued to call me ma'am because

like every single phone call I am on I get called ma'am I don't even think that I

was trying to make this into a video I think I just wanted to write this for myself it

says two dreams at a time with a few on the side and then I said ASL which is being an

ASL interpreter then YouTube sensation I want to be a YouTube sensation it's true I am not

like freaking out that it needs to happen right now I just do want it to happen

in my future and then also the few on the side is writing a book getting a promotion

which actually apparently I wrote this a while ago sorry I just read forward and started

laughing and then the last one is not dying so so far so good oh my gosh I have like a

list of things that I want this in this camera this camera is lovely thank you so much for

being there camera.

But I do want a better camera in the future I want one that I can see the screen so I

am working on that slowly slowly slowly but surely Alabama Shakes apparently I like a

song or two of them and I never look them up so I told myself to you and I still haven't

Oh my God I wrote like an entire script for a video and I hate this video ideas for

I will read some of it right now just know that this is a stupid video idea that I will

never ever make because it is just I cannot I cannot adult thing thing problem with Jason

Rivera already starting off amazing credit vs. credit hours you would think that credit

Evidence-Based Eating - Duration: 4:03.

"Evidence-Based Eating"

In the 1940s and 50s, the American Medical Association was not only saying that

smoking—in moderation—was not a problem, but that on balance,

smoking may even be beneficial.

After all, most physicians themselves smoked; so, how bad could it be?

With the American Medical Association saying this, where could you turn back then

if you just wanted the facts?

What's the new data advanced by science?

"She was too tired for fun… and then she smoked a Camel."

Babe Ruth spoke of proof-positive medical science, that is, when he still could speak,

before he died of throat cancer.

Now, some of the science did leak out,

causing a dip from about 11 cigarettes a day per person on average down to 10,

but those that got scared could always choose the cigarette

that takes the fear out of smoking,

or, even better, choose the cigarette that gives you the greatest health protection.

Now, if by some miracle, there was a SmokingFacts.org website back then

that could deliver the science directly to the people,

bypassing commercially corruptible institutional filters,

you would have become aware of studies like this: an Adventist study out of California in 1958

that showed that nonsmokers may have at least 90% less lung cancer than smokers.

Now, with so much money and personal habit at stake,

there will always be dissenters.

But, given the seriousness of these diseases and the sum total of evidence,

we shouldn't wait to put preventive measures in place.

So, if you're a smoker back in the 50s in the know, what do you do?

With access to the science, you realize that the best available balance of evidence

suggests that your smoking habit is probably not good for you.

So, do you change your smoking habits or do you wait?

If you wait until your physician tells you, between puffs, to quit, you could have cancer by then.

If you wait until the powers that be officially recognize it, like the Surgeon General did

in the subsequent decade, you could be dead by then.

It took more than 7,000 studies and the deaths of countless smokers before the first

Surgeon General report against smoking was finally released in the 60s.

You'd think maybe after the first 6,000 studies maybe they could have given

people a little heads up or something?

One wonders how many people are currently suffering needlessly from dietary diseases.

Maybe we should have stopped smoking after the 700th study like this.

Now, fast forward fifty-five years.

There's a new Adventist study out of California.

Warning Americans about something else they may be putting in their mouth.

And, it's not just one study.

According to a recent review, the total sum of evidence suggests

that mortality from all causes put together,

and many of our dreaded diseases –

ischemic heart disease, and circulatory and cerebrovascular diseases, like stroke,

were significantly lower in those eating more plant-based diets,

in addition to less cancer and diabetes.

So, instead of someone going along with America's smoking habits in the 1950s,

imagine you or someone you know going along with America's eating habits in the present day.

What do you do?

With access to the science, you realize that the best available balance of evidence

suggests that your eating habits are probably not good for you.

So, do you change your eating habits or do you wait?

If you wait until your doctor tells you, between bites, to change your diet,

it could be too late.

Just like most doctors smoked back then, despite the overwhelming evidence

published for decades, most doctors today continue to eat foods

that are contributing to our epidemics of dietary disease.

Energy Update Timeline Energy Has Increased, Positivity Will Increase Into More Positive Manifestati - Duration: 8:28.

Energy Update Timeline Energy Has Increased, Positivity Will Increase Into More Positive

Manifestations Quickly.

by Diane Canfield.

I have always kept you up to date on what is happening energetically in this shift.

We have reached a new level of awareness this past 2 weeks.

The timelines have shifted again in the process of Ascension.

They are continuing to shift each day now as we move in 2017.

The world and reality has changed, it is no longer what it was before.

Some of the ways we know we have shifted is through Increased Awareness.

This is a marker for all involved in the Ascension process.

We join in with upgrades and waves, but the increased awareness comes during this time

or afterwards, many times even taking the place these days of waves as we used to know

them.

As we shift dimensions, we are closer to the Creator who is the Divine knower and Creator

of all things.

It is through this connection we are able to access more knowledge, more wisdom and

more clarity.

We can look into the past and notice some things that may have been handled better yet

we did not have increased awareness at this time.

it is very similar to those that pass on and have a past life review, only now we have

the opportunity to do this through the shift.

As we look backward we have a chance to heal all unhealed wounds from our past by now being

able to see the bigger picture that we could not before.

Through this process we are healing ourselves of the pain and chaos that existed and our

part in this play.

We may need to revisit a few times with new takes and new insights to be able to come

into more alignment what went on.

Sometimes we may swing back and forth before finally coming to the middle and being able

to understand why we handled things the way we did and of utmost importance why we had

these experiences and what they meant to us in the overall scheme of our lives.

This is where the deep healing occurs and once this healing occurs it is healed for

good.

We then can make the upgrades needed and anchor them into our consciousness through the increased

insight we now have.

Many new insights have taken place during these last days.

We are now merging more and more with our LIGHT BODY.

As we merge we KNOW things not known to us before.

It is like having a 360 view now of all things going on instead of our limited view we had

in the past.

On the night of the 26th, a portal was opened and many dark beings left this reality.

I had my own very profound experience with seeing some of these beings leave through

the portal of my third eye.

All different types of beings made this move out of our dimension.

This will continue on as we move into the higher dimensions of awareness.

The light is now too strong for these dark energies to continue to influence humankind.

We have had a lot of celebrities transitioning recently and this is partly due to the increased

energies along with their contracts they needed to fulfill.

They made an agreement before coming here in the choice of the reality they would be

in during the shift.

Many of them are helping us behind the scenes in the afterlife with the process of upgrading.

They can be of more help there than here, as I have talked about for many years.

We have not seen the last, there will be more in the months to come.

As well as celebrities seemingly coming back to life after dying as timelines continue

to merge.

As we may feel sad for some of these celebrities, one of the biggest shifts in consciousness

that can be made is to realize there is no death.

The person who transitions goes from one reality to a different one.

The minute they leave this reality they are in the next one.

The exact second they are gone from here.

There is no lag time.

As we make our transition we are asked to understand these concepts of Truth more fully

so we can embrace the NEW World we are creating.

This is one of the hardest concepts for many.

But the many will need to understand there is no death- just transition.

Many relationships will now be ending as we come through this powerful passage.

What was hidden will now be revealed.

What was put up with and tolerated before, will no longer tolerated in the higher frequencies.

Trust your inner sense and intuition during these times ahead this is how we build

confidence in our intuition and psychic senses.

If you feel something is off, ask the person you are in a relationship with.

Do not be afraid to stand up for yourself and speak your truth.

The higher realms want us to deal with Truth , not deception.

This is the only way now to move forward in relationships.

With the energy increase, it is most important to cycle into complete positive manifestations

with everyone we are involved with.

Do not let the frequency decrease into lower vibrations with others.

Be aware of the frequency level of the other person and make adjustments to raise them

up instead of lowering yourself.

The energy increase in the past few weeks, is leading us into heightened energy increases

between people.

This is why we must keep our dealings with others on a positive note, so these can become

heightened.

If it devolves into the negative this is also becoming very heightened very quickly and

can energetically affect the other person quickly like no other time in the past.

This is a NEW symptom of Ascension.

You may notice any negativity escalating quickly now, just as positivity will.

We want to make sure we are upgrading ourselves into the NEW Reality and not staying with

the lower levels.

be aware of this change and do not dwell in negativity now.

Everyone needs to be on board for the change.

Ear ringing and headaches, along with neck and back pain continue as recent ascension

symptoms.

Ear ringing is caused from the weakening of the magnetic shield which I have talked about

many times.

This will not be concluded until the shift is complete.

All Humans need to be on board for this shift.

As the Light body is going through many changes, so is everything else in this reality.

We are asked to keep up with the changes and adapt as quickly as possible now.

Intense dreams happen in all times of frequency raises and timeline merges.

This time is no different.

The dreams come in fast and furious and seem more real.

Timelines blur now.. asking what is real, what is not?

Time is becoming less rigid as I have talked about in many of my past articles.

We are moving out of time completely and soon will no longer be using a clock for anything

since this is no longer a valid indication of time any longer.

Time can move faster than the clock or slower than the clock now as the energy streams change.

so it will no longer be needed.

With everything that has changed through out 2016 it is easy to believe our Ascension comes

nearer.

For those weary and worn out.. hang on.

Know that it comes closer with each dark force removed from the planet.

The Galactics and Divine Cosmic Christ are working overtime to accomplish this goal,

not only for us but all Conscious beings everywhere.

Everything in the Universe ascends now it is a Universal upgrade for ALL.

No human will be left behind.

Merging with Source Energy is the key to Ascension.

I love you all ! In service and Love, Diane Canfield.

Making Of: Livro Retrato de Oportunidades - o terceiro setor e o desenvolvimento social - Duration: 17:51.

Pictures of opportunities – The third sector and the social development

we'll multiply future examples with this project, we'll share histories

of happy changes in the young lives of people with disability

their lives were changed by professional qualification and jobs.

we started the project elaborating a book in which 18 persons from different

communites in the cities of Poá, Ferraz de Vasconcelos, Diadema, São Paulo, Joinville, Belo Horizonte, Rio de

Janeiro, Manaus and Goiânia opened their diaries telling a little bit about their journey and

showed how the experiences they had in the social organizations provided

opportunities to make life better.

We believe these meetings will bring motivation to think of your

ways and choices.

Now, a little bit about what the book will tell you.

I remember my friend, who sent her résumé in the Microsiga time. She was already

working when she was called and then she called me and said: "Hey, I

gave your name to Sofia, you know", who was the Microsiga HR person, I send your name to

Sofia and she'll get in touch with you for an opportunity to teach". And we went there, to this orphanage

called Associação Cristã Verdade e Luz,

known as Mamãe Clory's home, where I lived with my entire life

and we get there, on a Wednesday, with the promise of my dad comes back on Sunday

bringing some clothes and everything else. We get there carrying a small bag with my clothes and

my brother's.

and the promise to come back on Sunday bringing more clothes and this didn't

happen.

after then, I didn't see my dad anymore. Mamãe Clory's home, where he was

an intern there.

but this is how it was, I guess he joined IOS in 1999 if I remember. And then, they create a classroom

inside the orphanage to introduce the digital inclusion.

my dream was always do the social work, I got it now and I'm

accomplishing it. So, when I came to work in the education area as I

worked 20years in the administrative area, when I started in the education area I

really find myself, this is what I wanted for my life.

The question was about computers and I could answer but I

would need to study, do another things to improve, to assume other classes and

this is what I did. Well, after these 10 years teaching, I started to do a different work

at IOS, a job as strengthen the partnerships that give

support to the unities. And in Joinville,

(Alexandro) Velho, he attended an institution too, he played basketball and has a very cool

social job. Then Velho came and said: "Buddy, what you think, let's take IOS there? and every time I delivered a

resume to HR, if they didn't make a note that was a person with disability, in the middle of

the process he was crossed out because had deficiency, that vacancy wasn't for

this kind of person. And so, it starts all over again, sent resume pointing out

he had deficiency. So, the vacancies which the resumes were sent didn't work because they weren't for people with disability. And so, for a long

time, I started to join recruitment processes to fulfill quotas. And so, fulfill quota, whatever you do something productive,

to be honest it doesn't fulfill yourself, the hole inside yourself, to be useful, to feel you're doing the difference in someone's life.

And after a while, he became our partner, an IOS member

And I said: "let's challenge this". So, as I said, my manager said: "Rodrigo needs to go back to school".

And I went to the roadway at 5am, woke up at 4am, 4:30am And went to the roadway at 5am.

Played until 7am, took a shower and came here, see, here

And until then, I've never touch in a computer.

The transformation I saw in Rodrigo was specially

because he sought sought goals back in his life

when I met him, the only goal in his life was run. Run! And I guess that run, that he didn't even have

direction, it was just run. The course he took with us changed him,

to seek for having goals more structured.

Then I finished, I stayed that year, it was in 1998, I stayed here in Santana. And in 1999, they did a partnership with Lar Betânia

There's also Leidevan, who works at TAM today

I guess the desire to learn was so strong that you finished, I ended up

learning quickly

and when you realized, you were helping another person,

you were teaching something you learned, maybe 10min ago and

explaining to another how to do it. And this one outside São Paulo, I went

with some people, too, as travel to Rio, Joinville, BH

Yes, we have partnership with Bola pra Frente today

Today, we have partnership with Unisuam in Bonsucesso, which is the closest Unity to Bola pra Frente and

so, we disclose the IOS course time when available

we do the enrollment here at Bola pra Frente

and take the youths to the university

And so it's one more opportunity

because the question of partnership with Unisuam gave to the youths

here from Guadalupe also, this

view of graduation access

so today, all the youths who are in the IOS at Unisuam receive

a scholarship of 50% in any graduation course at the university

I took an ERP course that time

In one I was an IOS student, at Unidade de Itaquera (SP)

he was a boy full of wishes, today he works at TOTVS, he plays baskteball

also. So, since then I kept taking the courses

And last year, I came back for a jovem aprendiz opportunity

I was born here in Goiania, eh

my father was bricklayer; at the time we moved my mom was dressmaker. At the time I moved

the place was an invasion and there was IOS

William is a boy who was in a moto accident and he was here to be

part of the job market

I guess if I wasn't at IOS, I wouldn't'

go to the university today, I wasn't at the fourth year of Law.

My life's hope was over, so IOS,

let's say, made me revive.

his dream was be a lwayer one day.

I did the enrollment and started it

everybody said at the beginning: "ah, it'll be a simple thing,

it won't be anything big because it's free, they won't send you to any service, it's just foolish talk"

but I think after 2 months, I finished the course and started a trainee

in a limestone mine.

I had an old dream to have a headoffice for IOS working

and so , we find this place that is the Instituto da Oportunidade Social today,

it's the headquarter called Núcleo

he identified with Excel, he identified more, so he was teaching to the people

this and that

and when he came back to the company, he came back to the administrative area and today, he's

one of the administrative area's managers, one coordinator of the administrative area

in the same company where he was a street swepper.

I was so happy that I stuck in front of the mirror jumping because I was going to work

and I started to develop, slowly,

activities, paid attention in the way they did, and I SHORTLY

the operational part, I became a monster.

Liliane herself, always liked to teach

so, my first contact with a kind of job was at IOS even so

was when I took the basic computer course at Lar Betânia, here in Ferraz

and I didn't leave there, Raquel invited me to be monitor

in her classes after the course, and Raquel placed myself to teach to her also and she was

kind of teaching how to find my way

I prefer to work with people with disabilities who I liked a lot also at

the first time that I heard about IOS was by TOTVS and I didn't know it

So it was when I went to visit the Itaquera unity.

"R", you know Raquel, because of this hair right?, so this is my sign.

My mom, she stopped elementary schoo but she came back to study

with 41, she came back to the elementary

school, she finished the elementary school, concluded, and she finished for not leaving my

Be with my family, watch how I grew up

and I'm very proud of we can do, my family parties a lot

so I'm very proud when I can help make a party sometimes

and so I think there was an entire social project behind the scene that showed me I had to have rules.

A new view

opened for me related to computer and it was important, for my life, as much as

having a bakery as the company I have today, the driving school.

The people who always kind of saw this difficulty of not writing

showed some resistance of not accepting me at school.

I guess the click was there, you know, I need to take this course because it's what will push myself.

I saw IOS as a transforming agent.

for me his name is this one. Yes, I guess it opens opportunities, maybe give views that

youths and teenagers can't see and achieve by themselves.

And IOS prepared us for this also, so I'm so thankful, they trained us about behavior

as talk, act. I followed everything very right, ok, I did everything very right but it gives the impression that the boss

interviewing you

you had to be there, you had to talk your best, do your best there

to get the vacancy.

Here was the city's landfill

think that the airport is very close but from downtown to here is a journey so

the old landfill

so it comes IOS, comes here, a company

you know, that has a social work as an institution, and comes to Morro Israel

I would never think it would come to Morro Israel

and with the proposal now, it came to Santa Etelvina after, it went more inside,

this reality is very new.

We talk about employment, opportunity

because there are a lot of opportunity, a lot

but now, what we need to understand is: the youth wants to work than

get employed? This youth and this company, at work, they match? It works?

And now, when you talk about Instituto da Oportunidade Social it has a work

related to this getting done

IOS send him to the job market practically

As soon as I finished the six mothns I was Raque's invitee to supervise

supervise her classes.

That opportunity was the opportunity for them, it wasn't just taking a computer course

sometimes, be there was leave behind the miserable reality they had, you know

And we realized many of the students felt so much better inside of that classroom than inside their own houses

After the first course, I believed everybody changed, the view of Jucelino's professional, it wasn't

just Jucelino as person, changed totally, I didn't have any intention in the

job market until then.

I started as airport agent, I worked at the airport hall

assisting the passengers.

So I changed a lot physically, but like this, another person mentally.

Look to what I want to do, do you know? After, posteriorly, work at the public defender

to look for the interests of those hypoindependent

My desire is grow up to help my parents.

As my parents are divorced today, my dad

remain himself and I remain my mom who has been unemployed since a year, and one thing I'm always

thankful for is the opportunity IOS gave me my job at TOTVS because

I look at my current job and to the people who are in the same line as me, like it or not

I have a nice salary, and to handle the college tuition and maintain my house

and paying rent still, it's a bit complicated.

If I have the opportunity to be

or do

something better than I'm today, so I'll look for it tomorrow

I moved to another company after 5 years, it has been a year I'm in this department

what sums 6 years of labor

it was the first time I changed the department, I got it after insisting on it a lot

My boss, I like her a lot!

She's polite, grinning, helps me in what's right and wrong and gives me direction

And my future, it was future that time

today, it's my present and I'm realizing it

and for taking the course at IOS, I know I can go a bit further

the trash

the residue today, it's so important to take it out of your door as a doctor

who is there. In the last day at IOS course, when was a general meeting, my mom went there

at IOS and when she saw my grades, she started crying, that was so cool

It's hard, you know, for us, youths, today

we need these places because you need to deal with what you want

for those who live at the periferia mainly. Because you don't have

opportunity and when it shows up you need to get it. So, I need to do

this difference today, I can't accept my brothers and sisters from the community get involved in the

violence world. So, I need, you know, to point it out. I need to believe that there are organizations,

the State exists, which needs to assume the education in fact

I guess that just it releases. So, when the course arrived and took 2, 3 Years, many people got lucky

it wasn't like this, just me

many people got a job because of this.
