Youtube daily report w Jan 4 2017

Hi all, its Polosatiy

Finally I doing a first step in hardware reviews

I'm not going to talk just about brand-new stuff

To make it more interesting I'm gonna overview retro devices

Some friends know I have a collection of gamers mice

And the first device to review...

Mitsumi gaming mouse... The legendary, mechanical...

We beat Sweden at BWEC 2000 with a same

Let's have a look

A small box... Not bigger than my palm...

A price was about 200 or 300 rubles (~5 us dollars)

Usually we took two or three because after hot game we sometimes crushed it

It's hard to find Mitsumi mouse now... Mine is in a box

You can read specs at backside of the box... Russian is available...

For IBM PC. Microsoft mouse compatible. Resolution is 400 DPI...

Made in Malaysia... Let's open it...

A manual inside...

Some Mitsumi adv...

My keyboard is Mitsumi as well, very old mechanical

You can read full specifications inside...

Let's check a full model name

PS/2 compatible mouse

Detail specs...

New 2-button ergonomic design

Cable is two meter...

Lifetime is a million of clicks

Last thing is about what is in a box...

Look...

This is PS/2 connector... to plug the mouse...

The legendary PS/2, the green one...

Mitsumi S3102 also can be serial... For PC's COM-port....

I have one...

And this is COM-port...

But... New computers don't have it

PS/2 is more popular but rare as well

Let's look at the size... I have something to compare

This is the Logitech MX518

Definitely longer and...

Higher...

I've got Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer 3.0a

Also much longer

And thicker...

Most similar to Mitsumi is the Microsoft Intellimouse 1.1a

1.1a is also symmetric

Very similar...

Size and shape are close

Height is a similar too

Design is symmetric but left button is little bigger

And surface has friction for left button...

Mitsumi produced a wheel model, but I like classic one

Removing a cover...

Easy to turn...

Removing a ball...

Why? After weeks of Quake it was really dirty because of dust, hairs etc...

You have to clean a ball and rollers from time to time

Or mouse movement won't be so smooth

Now it's time to plug...

PC turned off. PS/2 port won't burn because voltage is low, just 5V...

But Windows must be rebooted to detect the PS/2 device...

The first boot with a new mouse...

OS is Win7...

I can move the cursor with no drivers...

It moves enough smooth...

Microsoft PS/2 mouse it says...

Driver installation succesfully completed

Need to reboot...

Everything works...

One thing... Sensitivity is too low...

Mitsumi's DPI is 400 while MX518 has 1600...

So now sensitivity less than four times

Checking my device

Here is my Microsoft PS/2 mouse... Works good...

For example If you use WinXP you can overclock your PS/2 port...

to up polling rate to 200 Hertz...

But I can't do it in Win7 and I don't know current rate

Let's play some Quake 3 to see how it's doing...

After reading manuals I found out...

Win7 has 100 Hz for PS/2...

I've got 200 Hz by fixing registry...

Now my moves are really smooth...

And I really like it...

For win95-98 we've used an utility...

It's called PS2 Rate

So you could overclock...

...PS/2 port...

Getting desired 200 Hz...

As you can see now

Picture is very smooth...

Moves are really really nice...

This is an ancient Mitsumi ball-mouse!

I don't feel any different after MX518!

Need to warm up a little, some shaft maybe...

As I remember, Windows98...

You've got 40 or 60 Hz for PS/2 by default

It's why we've used PS2 Rate...

Look at the mouse... It's very comfortable for my hand...

Size is optimal...

Not too small

What a rocket!

It's really fun to aim with RL...

Weight is OK as well...

Mouse doesn't feel lightweight...

It's normal...

One thing...

Habitually I lift up a mouse...

...when it moves too fast...

And then I feel and I hear a ball beating the body...

But if it moves not so agressive...

Keeping mouse close to the pad...

It's OKay...

This bug is only when you lift it up...

Try to play a game now...

Opponent took both armors...

By the way... Microsoft 3.0...

Which one I showed you... 1.1a...

There is a sticker at the body...

Interface is USB... but it's PS/2 compatible

There is no joke...

Early....

We connected USB mice to PS/2 via adapter...

To get desired 200 Hz

Need some warm up, hehe...

So... USB mouse with PS/2 adapter...

... getting higher polling rate than...

Than USB mouse into USB port...

with standart USB 125 Hz...

Today people using an adapter...

If they need to release USB port

But there is must be PS/2 port in a PC

Well, my first impressions... without hours of preparation

I don't feel any problem

I thought...

Would be great if mouse will just run...

But it's really good for playing

Even compared to Logitech MX518...

Rocket Launcher is really nice...

Like an instinct...

Like it should be...

Shaft is alright as well...

Something else about USB-port...

A standart USB rate is 125 Hz

But new mice can give you more...

Well... few time ago...

People looked for how to overclock USB port...

Writing drivers, software, fixing registry...

But new mice from big brand...

Has a higher rate from a factory

Giving hundreds of hertz by default...

500 Hz... 1000 Hz...

Damn, I love these rockets...

My hand is like...

... fish in a water...

Ups...

So, about high polling rate...

Now I've got 400 DPI...

200 Hertz

I don't feel any problems

Conversely...

I feel very comfortable

And I love aim with Rocket Launcher...

Very comfortable... These moves...

An instinct...

Espesially air rockets

By the way...

Because of 400 DPI...

Sensitivity was reduced...

So

I speed up a cursor in Windows

Because it was really low

400 DPI... it means dots per inch...

Resolution of mouse sensor...

If you playing...

If you use high resolution mode...

You can feel not enough sensitivity

Well...

Interesting...

Interesting conclusion at the end...

Oh, so nice air rocket...

Just amazing...

The ball one...

From end of ninetieth...

And it plays so...

good...

In 2017...

Maybe a little problem...

This model doesn't have a wheel...

While you surfing internet you miss it a little

But this is not a problem

And it's no wonder...

Dueler PELE [PK] used Mitsumi...

...till the end of his career

It's interesting...

MX518 as I said...

1600 DPI...

But the old Mitsumi...

Giving to me just amazing moves...

And it's really smooth... it's very important...

It is believed that...

Higher DPI is better

For smooth and accuracy

Wow

You see it by yourself...

What can I say at the end of this review...

Mitsumi's specs let you...

After about 20 years...

...it able to compete on a high level

400 DPI is quite enough...

For active shooter like Quake 3 Arena is...

200 Hz polling rate... It doesn't tie my hands...

The mechanical moves...

I like it!

It feels more clear when you shoot

Weight and size an ideal for my hand...

I think I will stay with this retro mouse...

Sadly, I can't buy a new one...

Thanks for watching...

Ask A Pediatrician: E-Cigarettes - Duration: 3:24.

HIM ABOUT THAT.

I WOULD LOVE TO GET RID OF

THAT.

WE APPRECIATE YOUR FEEDBACK.

A RECENT REPORT SHOWS

ELECTRONIC CIGARETTES ARE NOW

THE MOST COMMONLY USED TOBACCO

PRODUCT AMONG TEENAGERS.

LAST YEAR 16% OF HIGH SCHOOL

STUDENTS, REPORTED USING E

CIGARETTES.

THE NEGATIVE HEALTH IMPACTS OF

CIGARETTES ARE WELL KNOWN BUT

THERE ARE MANY QUESTIONS ABOUT

ELECTRONIC CIGARETTES.

IS IT BETTER THAN SMOKING?

WE BROUGHT IN OUR PEDIATRICIAN

TO TALK ABOUT SOME OF THESE

DANGERS.

THANK YOU FOR COMING IN.

THIS IS A TRICKY THING.

LET'S TALK ABOUT A CIGARETTE SO

PEOPLE KNOW WHAT WE ARE TALKING

ABOUT.

THEY ARE DESIGNED TO LOOK

LIKE A CIGARETTE, THEY HAVE A

CARTRIDGE THAT HAS NICOTINE,

THEY HAVE AN ATOMIZER

WHICH ESSENTIALLY IS A MOTOR

THAT VAPORIZES THE NICOTINE SO

YOU CAN SMOKE IT AND LOOK COOL.

THERE ARE A LOT OF QUESTIONS

ABOUT THE IMPACT, DO YOU KNOW

ABOUT ANY OF THE NEGATIVE SIDE

EFFECTS?

IT IS NICOTINE.

IT IS ADDICTIVE.

IT IS ABSOLUTELY AT THE THERE.

IT WILL GET YOUR HEART RATE UP.

IT DEFINITELY HAS AN IMPACT ON

BRAIN DEVELOPMENT, ESPECIALLY

FOR YOUNG KIDS.

IT IS A DANGEROUS PRODUCT.

CIGARETTES HAVE NICOTINE,

WHICH IS BAD, BUT ALL SORTS OF

OTHER STUFF IN THERE THAT IS

WORSE.

HE CIGARETTES

IT DOES NOT HAVE THAT OTHER

STUFF.

IT DOES NOT HAVE ALL OF THAT

OTHER STUFF.

THERE ARE OTHER THINGS IN IT.

THERE ARE CARCINOGENS THAT YOU

SHOULD BE AWARE OF.

WHY DO YOU THINK WE ARE

SEEING THIS INCREASE AMONG

TEENAGERS?

I REALLY THINK IT IS

MARKETING. THEY HAVE A

BEAUTIFUL DESIGN.

IT LOOKS LIKE CANDY.

IT IS REALLY FUN THE WAY IT IS

PACKAGED.

WHAT WE CAN TELL IS HONESTLY

ABOUT PEOPLE ARE 6 TIMES MORE

LIKELY IF YOU ARE A E-CIGARETTE

SMOKER TO EVENTUALLY CONVERT TO

CIGARETTES.

WHAT DO WE DO AS PARENTS?

YOU HAVE TO TALK ABOUT HOW

THIS IS NOT A CANDY.

THIS IS AS DANGEROUS AS REGULAR

CIGARETTE SMOKING.

IS THERE SOMETHING WHERE IT

IS HARD TO QUIT?

ABSOLUTELY, IT IS JUST AS A

DICK DIV.

I THINK MANY PEOPLE HAVE TRIED

USING THESE E-CIGARETTE TO GET

THEMSELVES OFF OF STANDARD

CIGARETTES.

IT DOES NOT WORK.

WHAT ARE SOME RESOURCES OUT

THERE TO HELP?

HONESTLY TALK TO YOUR

PHYSICIAN, WE REALLY OPEN AND

DISCUSS IT.

IT IS AN ADDICTION SO YOU

REALLY WANT TO

GO THROUGH THE STANDARD

ADDICTION PROCESS.

IT CAN BE HARDER TO KNOW

YOUR KIDS ARE DOING IT, RIGHT?

RIGHT, YOU LOSE SOME OF

THOSE INDICATORS.

What's is it like to be a grad student in civil engineering at Mizzou? - Duration: 4:32.

As graduate students, funding is crucial.

The nicest thing about Mizzou was that I was offered a full scholarship here, which guarantees

me 5 years funding to support my Ph.D. degree here.

I never intended to go to grad school, but the professors and my experience in undergrad

really prompted me to go to grad school at Mizzou because they really care about student

learning, and, just the way that several professors actually approached me to go to grad school

and get involved with research.

It was just a really cool experience.

So, I looked into environmental-focused engineering programs.

There were really a few around the country that were on the top of my list, but it really

came down to the department.

My interest was in the program, and then it was was really solidified when I talked to

my future advisor.

One of the things I like the most about here is you're treated, not really as a student,

but more as a colleague.

You're very well respected, and they know that you have something to bring to the table,

and that's one of the things that I really like about here and about Mizzou.

My advisors have always been very helpful along the way, but also, you know, letting

me be independent and do what I need to do that will not only myself, but also further

the program and further the our research that we're all doing together.

I love what I'm doing.

I love the people I work with.

Studying abroad, especially in America, is something I would say, is difficult.

When you first come to a new country, you don't know anybody here and you don't speak

the local language.

Sometimes you feel awkward, and you may think people will laugh at you

or make fun of you, but I never had anybody do that to me.

People at Mizzou are so nice, and they try their best to help you.

The environmental engineering faculty are awesome.

I know they specialize in different areas and anytime I have a question for one of them

or maybe don't really know what resources to go to, I've been able to reach out.

And they're happy to sit down and give me the information I'm looking for.

They're — also, I don't know how they do everything they do — but, like, they really

are amazing.

Many of the faculty members are active on boards.

They're active in student groups.

I think they really try to make themselves available to students, so that's what I appreciate

most.

There are a couple different professors here in the transportation group in particular,

that all work together really well.

They're almost a collective unit.

When you ask one one thing, you can ask the rest of the professors in the hall.

They'll give you a collective answer because they are all one team, and that's one of the

things — as a student, you're almost part of it.

We are all one team, in a way.

When one student does well or one project does well, it ultimately reflects on the whole

group.

When one does well, everybody does well.

It's kind of cool to see the way that the research is very different, but everyone is

doing research.

That's really valuable, I think.

If somebody's going to grad school to get into research or academia, it's valuable because

there's a lot of testing methods that you don't learn in undergrad as a civil engineer

that people are willing to teach you more hands-on.

It's a really good program.

Specifically, because of the faculty and their expertise and the way that they're just very

knowledgeable, which you'll find everywhere, but I really appreciate it at Mizzou because

of professors' willingness to take a pride hit and just say, "well, I don't know, but

this professor might know."

400 DPI... it means dots per inch...

Resolution of mouse sensor...

If you playing...

If you use high resolution mode...

You can feel not enough sensitivity

Well...

Interesting...

Interesting conclusion at the end...

Oh, so nice air rocket...

Just amazing...

The ball one...

From end of ninetieth...

And it plays so...

good...

In 2017...

Maybe a little problem...

This model doesn't have a wheel...

While you surfing internet you miss it a little

But this is not a problem

And it's no wonder...

Dueler PELE [PK] used Mitsumi...

...till the end of his career

It's interesting...

MX518 as I said...

1600 DPI...

But the old Mitsumi...

Giving to me just amazing moves...

And it's really smooth... it's very important...

It is believed that...

Higher DPI is better

For smooth and accuracy

Wow

You see it by yourself...

What can I say at the end of this review...

Mitsumi's specs let you...

After about 20 years...

...it able to compete on a high level

400 DPI is quite enough...

For active shooter like Quake 3 Arena is...

200 Hz polling rate... It doesn't tie my hands...

The mechanical moves...

I like it!

It feels more clear when you shoot

Weight and size an ideal for my hand...

I think I will stay with this retro mouse...

Sadly, I can't buy a new one...

Thanks for watching...

Exciting Partnership Revamps Business and Creates Jobs - Duration: 1:23.

A Cincinnati company once struggling to remain competitive is now one of the hottest manufacturers

in town.

Hi.

I'm Dana Bye with our Technology to Market program.

Queen City Forging, once known for making horseshoes and sewing machine arms, is now

a leading provider of advanced aluminum components.

With support from EERE, Queen City and Oak Ridge National Laboratory were able to team

up and develop a rapid heating furnace to produce aluminum turbochargers.

The national labs have an incredible history of developing breakthrough technologies.

However, in order for those to have an impact they have to actually address real world problems.

Here in EERE's lab impact program we are working hard to build collaborations between

our national lab network and industry partners.

I think what Queen City Forging is doing is a great example of what we're trying to

do here and we're excited to see how this partnership evolves.

This innovative national lab and small business partnership helped the long-running company,

which one struggled to keep up with the times, quadruple production, decrease their energy

consumption by 70 percent, and reduce maintenance costs.

On top of all that, Queen City recently announced that it's going to be expanding its manufacturing

company.

And that means more American jobs.

Certainly a huge success all the way around.

To learn more about this partnership please visit our website.

Why Are So Many Kids Allergic to Peanuts? (The Truth About Peanut Allergies) - Duration: 3:13.

So you have a kid.

You love your little bundle of joy: but then you remember.

Oh my god, the world is a scary place.

How can I protect my child??

[ScIQ Intro]

Naturally, you avoid all danger like the Plague.

You introduce new foods slowly.

You buy only the freshest organic produce so your little munchkin never, ever has to

ingest any nasty chemicals.

And you always, always insist that your kid avoids peanuts.

You know that kids can go into anaphylactic shock and DIE from peanuts, so your kid doesn't

come within ten feet of those evil little suckers.

But this is a big mistake.

By "protecting" your kids from peanuts, you might actually be giving them a peanut

allergy,

Let me explain.

Peanut allergy has been skyrocketing, quicker than pokemon-induced traffic accidents.

The number of kids allergic to peanuts tripled in the years between 1997 and 2008.

Peanut allergies are also super duper intense - many kids have to carry around an EpiPen

and can stop breathing upon contact with peanuts.

Which explains why we now have a 'no peanut butter' table at most kindergarten now,

and a whole bunch of paranoid parents desperately trying to keep their kids away from peanuts

just in case.

But research shows avoiding peanuts in childhood could be the REASON you're allergic to peanuts

in the first place.

HUH?

How does THAT work?

Basically it works like this - if you totally avoid something during childhood - when your

kids body is building up it's immunity - then the body doesn't have an opportunity to

build immunity against that thing.

So for example, just say you get your first exposure to peanuts when you're a baby.

Your body can't have a crazy immune reaction because its still learning how to react to

stuff, but it does remember what a peanut protein looks like.

So next time peanuts come into that kids life, the kids body is like - chill out guys, no

panic, it's just peanuts - 'day cool.

But imagine your kid never gets exposed to peanuts until on their 12 birthday when peanut

flour gets acidentally slipped in their birthday cake.

That kids body is going to be like - what the fu** is this peanut stuff, I've never

seen it before!

Quick have a reaction.

OMG panic!!!

To make peanut allergies less lethal, it' important to promote a child's immunity

at a young age by exposing them to that things - it's the same reason why kids get their

vaccinations when they're super little.

A study by the NIAID called LEAP-On found a bunch of kids whose parents or siblings

had a peanut allergy, and then exposed those kids to peanuts from the time they were babies

until the age of five.

The study found that 81% of those 'at risk' children had reduced their chances of becoming

allergic.

The study then asked those five year old kids to avoid peanuts for a year, and then try

peanuts again - for almost all those kids, they were still totally cool with peanuts

a year later - basically by eating peanuts for the first 5 years of life, they'd avoided

contracting a serious peanut allergy forever.

So basically, by giving babies peanut butter, you may be saving them from a deadly peanut

allergy later in life.

Obviously, some peanut allergies are going to be totally deadly no matter what.

That's why you should always talk to your doctor or pediatrician before you start them

on any specific diet.

So what do you guys think, were you one of those kids on the no peanut butter table in

kindergarten?

Let us know your thoughts on peanuts in the comments below.

Portmarnock Sunrise - Doesn't go as planned - Duration: 10:28.

I'm just out for a sunrise I'm at Portmarnock beach

lovely place to go to and was planning

on being here a little bit earlier

but I had some some alarm clock issues just give

you a look at the scene around here

reflections on the beach today are really nice

plenty of people walking dogs but

we're on the way out trying to find

there's a really old shipwreck, just an old

wooden boat

It'll give some nice interest in the foreground

and try and get a nice composition out of it and maybe

some long exposures it's low tide at the moment

see how it goes but some really nice

light in the sky at the moment not too far off

setting up

I tried doing a bit of a vlog on going out

and shooting some landscapes tried it

before but i'm filming this on a

gopro and when I did it

the sound was terrible so I quickly

learned and when it came to making other

videos I have a studio microphone back

at the house but for coming out and

traveling and doing this kind of stuff I

didn't really have anything so eh I done one

tried to record a few others but

when there was the slightest hint of wind

it just didn't work

so I've invested in one of these and that's

in the other pocket but basically got a

Rode smart lav and their microphones

are excellent so hopefully the sound

quality this one should be way better

you can probably hear all right let's

see how much the microphone picks up

where you can probably hear the

crunching of shells underneath my boots at the

moment so the lights changing a little bit

here looking really nice but it might be

a little bit shaky but there is

some really nice reflections

hopefully now with the microphone

I will be able to record a few more of these and

trying document places I go things

I do down to the setup of all the

shots and hopefully the sound quality is

way better, we'll find out just over in the

distance don't know if you can make it out

over there is Ireland's Eye over that way

we have Howth harbor and Howth hill

another lovely place to go shooting

but today we're looking for a shipwreck

see if we can go find it

Just noticed one slight issue

good thing it's not actually that windy

and my wind cover for the mic has disappeared

Cant really believe it but

managed to find it but and see

footprints all the way up and what's

beside them

that was lucky

seems like it's got a plastic bottom or

something on it so that kind of weighed it down

a bit

I thought it was actually going to be

blown off in the wind so eh, result!

well it hasn't quite worked out like I planned

last time i was here you can see a few

sticks in the water there that is part

of the shipwreck and that's kind of a

long piece here that I'm guessing was

part of the mast but em the last time

I was here this sandbar wasn't this

little boat wasn't actually visible

until there were storms a few years ago

washed all the sand off it and

obviously its about a year since I was last here

and it's been covered back in so there's

actually not much to shoot left here so

I might have to find something else

need something else to have in the

foreground but I may have to settle

for maybe a pool of water with some

reflections we'll see how it goes

trying to find a different composition

here at the moment it's a bit tricky i

was expecting to have that wreck as the

foreground to my shot but at the moment

the tide is coming back in that the

wreck was only visible when the tide was

out so we got it just at low tide but

now that the tides started turn and you can see just up

here and just trying to find something

of interest in the foreground to try and

capture but you can see here the water's

coming in pretty quickly at the moment

so I might just set up here try and

get one last shot maybe a bit of rock here

in the foreground over towards Ireland's Eye

and see how it turns out

This little outcrop of rock is disappearing pretty

fast the tide comes in very quick here so

you've only got a really short window to capture this

using the polariser here to try and take

down the reflections a little bit

opposite of what i was doing a few

minutes ago and make sure this is

leveled out hopefully find another

composition on the way back but for now this will be fine

I might end up getting a little bit wet here

in a few minutes if I don't hurry up it is coming in very

fast indeed

get this shot and get out of here

yeah I think it's time to get out of

here

time to go before I get stuck

didn't quite work out as planned today

what we went to shoot wasn't there but

hopefully I got a shot

anyway we're just on the way back to the

car at the moment so probably not many

places to stop off on the way back and

hopefully I've got one image out of it

Nice little walk as you can see here

walkway and track all the way along

but em, Yeah disappointing but it happens

no matter much planning you do you could

arrive and conditions change or little bits

and pieces but doesn't matter how early

we would have been that sand bar

kinda ruined what I was aiming for for

next time hopefully

The Bible doesn't talk about climate change, right? - Duration: 5:52.

(whirring)

- "I am an Evangelical,

"so climate can't be changing,

"because God's in control and not us.

"And even if it is,

"who cares?

"The world's gonna end anyways."

That's what all Evangelicals think, right?

(rewinding)

(dinging)

When we poll people in the United States

about whether they think climate

is changing because of humans,

and if we ask how worried they are about it,

it's true,

there is one group that ends up at the bottom,

and that is white Evangelicals.

Only 28% of us say that humans are responsible,

and curiously,

only 45% of white Catholics also agree,

compared to 77% of Hispanic Catholics.

But don't they have the same pope?

It isn't being Catholic or Evangelical

that makes us doubt the science,

it's something else.

What is an Evangelical anyways?

There are as many definitions for us

as there are books in the Bible,

so I'm gonna go with one I got from a man

name Lieth Anderson.

Leith is a pastor who's also the president

of the National Association of Evangelicals

in the United States,

so he knows his stuff,

and this is what he says.

"Evangelicals are people who take the Bible seriously."

Our first clue came from the poles,

and now for our second clue

we're gonna go to the Bible.

If Evangelicals take it seriously,

what does it have to say about climate change

and all that kind of stuff?

The first book in the first chapter is Genesis one.

It talks about how humans were made

in the image of God.

If you ever went to Sunday School

you probably heard that one.

But then it tells us why,

so that we, humans,

could be responsible for every living thing on the planet.

Now some translations turn that into

dominion over the earth.

But even so,

would we respect someone who had dominion

over a company or a nation

and ran it into the ground?

Of course not.

All of us respect wise stewardship

when it comes to being in charge of something,

and that's what Genesis is talking about.

We are stewards or caretakers of the people,

animals, plants,

and all living things on this planet.

Moving forward through the Bible

there's a lot of verses that speak

of God's love and care for creation.

But there are also a few verses

that people pick out and apply out of context

to support their point.

For example, there's a verse that says

there will always be seasons.

So people say, "Well, how can global warming be real

"if there always will be winter and summer?"

Well, did you know that seasons are caused by

the earth's orbit around the sun?

And humans aren't effecting that yet,

so of course there will always be

winter and summer here in the Northern Hemisphere,

they'll just be warmer.

Then there's the verse about how God

will never destroy the earth again with a flood.

And so people use that to say sea level isn't rising.

First of all, it is.

Thousands of gages around the world

are pretty clear on that.

But second,

even if all the ice sheets on earth melted

there would still be dry land left,

just not nearly as much.

And because so many of us live near the coastlines

it's estimated that about 1/3 of us,

that's 2 1/2 billion people,

live on land that would be under water

if the ice sheets melted.

But that doesn't mean the earth will be entirely destroyed.

So getting back to the main theme of the Bible,

in the New Testament we learn for example

of people who had quit their jobs

and were waiting around,

sitting on their hands,

for the world to end and Christ to return.

The Apostle Paul wrote to those people

in the letter to the Thessalonians,

and in no uncertain terms told them

to work with their hands.

In other words, to support their family.

And elsewhere,

to care for the widows and the orphans, too.

Whether we believe in the end of the world or not,

we're not supposed to be sitting around waiting for it,

because most of all,

throughout the entire Bible we find

verses about love for others,

particularly those less fortunate than ourselves.

And that,

as everyone from Pope Francis

to Leith Anderson reminds us,

is why we care about a changing climate.

Because it disproportionally effects the poor

and the vulnerable.

Those who if food prices double

can't afford to feed their families.

If sea level rises,

have nowhere to go.

If water runs out,

become refugees far from home.

It's crystal clear,

from both the social science and from the Bible,

that our objections to the science of climate change

have nothing to do with being religiously Evangelical.

They have everything to do with being

politically Evangelical.

As Galen Carey,

a former missionary and now the vice president

of the National Association of Evangelicals says,

"Many Evangelicals oppose actions to slow climate change

"not on a religious basis,

"but on a political one because they believe

"the government wants to take away their freedom."

Bishop Efraim Tondero is the Secretary General

of the World Evangelical Alliance,

representing 600 million people around the world.

He was also an official member of the Philippine

delegation to the Paris Climate Conference.

And when one Evangelical asked Bishop Ef

why he cares about climate change,

and then added,

"Don't you read the Scriptures?"

He replied, "Yes,

"I do read the Scriptures,

"and that's why I care."

Juggling Highlight Reel - January 1st, 2017. - Duration: 6:40.

What's up everybody thanks for tuning in

the very first juggling highlight reel

of 2017. I'm Shawn from Everyday Juggler

and this is where you can find some of

the best juggling and object manipulation

videos posted on the web from week to

week. Whether you're watching this on my

channel or at the IJA's channel, make

sure you click that banner that just

popped up and go and subscribe to the

other channel. I don't know about you, but

I'm super-stoked about 2017. There's so

many great things coming, including

juggle talk LIVE winter 2017, where every

sunday night at 1700 eastern time,

you'll be able to see some awesome

jugglers and have a chance to win some

juggling goodies.

Mark your calendars and I hope to see

you there. The video been watching comes

from the IJA channel and features Lorenza

Gaudioso, where she does some

interesting balancing and some cool kick

up patterns. Check out the video for what

you've seen and much more.

Turbo Fest starts this week and in this

promo video Martin Regouffre Don's an elf

costume and shows us some diablo moves.

Seriously, I've heard some great things

about Turbo Fest if you're in the area

make sure you check it out.

I wish I could be there. Spencer Androlli,

who I happened to feature in a video

about a month and a half ago came in

second place at the WJF overall

championships at skill Con. He posted this

compilation video of some pretty crazy

juggling. He does a lot of partner stuff

with Kenny Cheung, you will also see some

great hat juggling and some other good

stuff too.

you definitely want to check this out for

some world-class juggling. Here's a

little artistic video that kind of, sort

of, includes juggling from Convoy Estudio.

even though this video is primarily

dance, it shows how you can incorporate

juggling in a beautiful way into a lot

of things including dance. Really love

this video you should check the whole

thing out of their channel. That reminds

me I've got a playlist in the video

description of all the videos shown here

so make sure you check that out.

Kendama USA put a really nice kendama video out

featuring Kenyatta williams in Dillon

Westerland join the two of them as they

duel it out with some fancy kendama tricks.

the Piiparinen Brothers posted a video

showing off their juggling skills with

some interesting video effects. Slways

like it when us Jugglers get a little

creative with how t present our juggling.

Some fire hooping for you from pixie

tails. She actually posted three videos

this past week they're all worth

checking out and she also does a really

good Harley Quinn impression so if

you're into that, check that out.

I liked this video because, hey I like

fire and honestly I think everything in

this video is beautiful so check it out.

This video comes from kKrauser and

features Jun performing a marionette

like diablo routine. Taking on a persona

while performing any object manipulation

routine adds another layer of complexity

and I think this performance of a

marionette is brilliant.

you want to check out the whole video

for sure. Here's some buugeng or

s-staff from the Razi magician. Wlways

love showing some great buugeng when I

see it because i think it's so

mesmerizing. Sit back and let it take you

in.

Lucas Abduch, by the way who is a sponsor

of Juggle Talk LIVE and has an online

store where you can buy some genuine Brazilian

balls, posted this video of Bach la Ouach.

You'll get to see a bunch of stuff he

can do with balls, which includes some

multiplexing and stalls you don't want

to miss this one.

This video comes from Japan, posted by

Duralumin and features some pretty good

poi. I'm surprised this video doesn't

have more views at this point. If poi is

your cup of tea you definitely want to check

this one out.

Mark Schneider posted his

end-of-the-year video featuring great

juggling as always. In this video he

focuses primarily on three Club work

looking forward to what he puts out this

coming year.

Quick super clean 9 ball run from

Alan Sulc, seriously blows my mind. Bob

and Trish put out their 7th annual

juggling Christmas video

and this year doesn't disappoint as they

show off their impressive juggling

skills accompanied by a silly original

Christmas song.

Overall this is a fantastic

light-hearted juggling Christmas video.

Anahoops posted this hooping video

called Frozen In Flow and I don't know

where she's at but man it looks cold.

Even so, she's a great Hooper. Kuma Films

posted a great cardistry video featuring

Zach Mueller. It always impresses me not

just what these guys can do with their

fingers but how entertaining it is to

watch. Take that however you'd like.

there's some performance juggling for

you featuring Nico Pires at the

Christmas circus and Toulouse. Always

love the videos that Nico puts out as

his Chinese yo-yo skills are so precise

and even more its live, such great stuff.

this video comes from Footbag Poland and

features Wiktor Debski and Mariusz Wilk. This channel

does a great job at making foot bagging

interesting to watch and featuring some

of the best foot backers in Poland and

i'm sure you can tell this is no

exception, foot bagging at its best.

the last video i want to feature this

week comes from Yu-Sung Chao where he

shows off all the things he's learned in

12 years of practicing Diablo. To say the

least this video is impressive.

He does things with the diabolo I have actually

never seen before and one thing I really

noticed is that he's really excellent at

creating wonderful-looking lines. While

that Diablo is round and spins in

circles he's able to do more than just

circles, he's able to make boxes and

triangles, really cool stuff the geometry

of Diablo is definitely evident here.

Besides that I love showing videos that

demonstrate progress.

It's a nice reminder that it takes a

long time to get good, so it's always

nice to see where jugglers are at today

and where they've been in

past. I wish I had more time to show you

more videos but neither of us have the

time. There were so many great videos
