Hello Guys and Dolls and welcome back
today's video is going to be a little
bit of a makeup experiment I picked up
one thing and one thing only from the
Sephora VAV sale which I now realize is
several weeks ago so you can imagine my
question that I haven't yet opened up
the Pat McGrath labs
Darkstar zero six little kit thingy so
I've been really interested in picking
up one of these Pat McGrath packet
things or you know selections so when
she started launching them but I never
really took the plunge it was just one
of those things I was kind of like I
don't really know because the packaging
for them is super basic and minimalist
and in a lot of ways I like that because
it means that they're not splashing out
a lot of money on packaging they're just
putting all that quality into the
products and everything looked so
amazing that I almost was like jaded and
didn't believe that it could be that
good and then a friend of mine went
ahead and picked it up and she showed me
swatches of hers and I was like oh my
god I need that so I decided to go ahead
and get this during the vib sale really
really excited to open this up also the
sequins on this are quite lovely they're
like a holographic blue which is kind of
cool if you're not familiar with the
whole Pat McGrath thing first and
foremost Pat McGrath is a well the
famous makeup artist and if you don't
know who she is you might be living
under a rock and you've definitely seen
her work she is incredibly poor like
she's incredibly prolific she's got a
lot of work for I mean just about every
cosmetic company she's worked on pretty
much everyone in Hollywood every major
model all that nice neat stuff so
whether or not you know that you know
her you know her makeup line is all
about creating these like really perfect
versions of products so in each one of
these launches that she's done they're
like very limited edition there's been
ones that have like like a skin
highlight thing there's been some really
great eyeshadow that have come out so
I'm really excited about this because
this is a combination of like eyeshadows
and eyeliner and a brush and like all
kinds of stuff and so I'm really really
excited to finally open this I don't
know I'm going to do with the sequence
so which is very carefully so excited
guys so excited to be catering this well
back I have been very patiently waiting
to open this on cam
so I can give you guys my true raw
reaction okay so here we have this
opened up so I'm going to take each item
out as I can see it okay so the first
thing is the site cyber clear I gloss oh
my god like I'm just saying like the
reflection of the way this looks around
edges and it looks so much cooler in
cameraman or cooler in person that looks
on camera like a Reading Rainbow freakin
fairy Bart's not stuff oh my god so cute
really excited about this Mac had a
similar product back in the winds-day
actually think that Mac and relaunching
some of their eye gloss products and
said I haven't really gotten chance to
check them out but really excited about
this and Pat McGrath you used to do a
lot of work for mac cosmetics so I
assume that it's going to be in the same
vein there's a card here which says some
stuff that's informative it's like some
warnings and also kind of like some
information about the products
themselves I'm already losing sequence
so the next product is the dark matter
pigments this is the black pigment which
I believe has sparkles
it's beautiful almost like a wet kind of
look to it very cool excited to check
this out astral white pigment and this
is a multi chromatic very glittery
pigment being good start to see it
they're beautiful love these oh goodness
and these are made in Italy as a lot of
baked products are made in Italy and
this is the ultraviolet blue pigment so
this is the one which really just make
my heart race when I saw it because it
looks so so pigmented of my friend that
I were discussing that this is almost
like what deep truth from Mac wishes it
was and for a long time there Mac in
every collection they either have deep
truth or do for deep truth and I feel
like this is the color they're always
trying to make where it's like somewhere
right between violet and blue really oh
my gosh you know it's funny you guys
it's like on camera looks really blue
but like to my eye you can definitely
see more of that violet tint to it so
shifted that way you can kind of see
what I City the next product in here is
the mercury pigment and this one it
reminds me of like a pewter e gold
silver or like a champagne silver it has
a little bit of warmth too it's
definitely like like a blonde goal
that's a really good term for that you
can kind of see these are so beautiful I
cannot wait to play with these the next
piece is a brush and I really liked the
shape of this I love these brushes that
have a pinched ferrule system is
incredibly soft
none of soft as you like my Wayne Goss
brushes but it's still pretty pretty
high up there on the soft a leader if
you will and the shape of this should be
conducive to taking up lots of product
and distributing it beautifully as I
have been watching a lot of the videos
on the Pat McGrath instagrams I'm hoping
to get similar results and then this is
the final piece of the collection this
is the Pat McGrath lab black smudge
liner eye Kohl so from what I've seen
this is supposed to be like a super
duper awesome black liner super black
it's supposed to be smudge proof so we
shall see all right guys time to play
around with these go ahead and show you
guys some swatches the first is the eye
liner
oh that's super black I'm all kind of
build it up next to that sure you know
it will do is I'll do like a swatch of
the black and Rose and then I'll swatch
the eye shadows like on top of the black
and then I'll swatch them over here
without the black get an idea so the
first time that a swatch is the mercury
pigment
oh that's very smooth little shot up
what it looks like so buttery and then
over the black and then
own impressive either way the astral
just close Astro white little bit more
on the gritty side well I am like a
pressed glitter I'll put that over the
black all very impressive and then we'll
do it on its own
also impress it looks like I might have
got some of the black smudged in there
looks like the black might not be all
the way dry yet and then the final one I
will do over the black is the other
eyeshadow this is the this is a dark
matter pigment and it's very it has a
nice grip to it it's overall pretty
smooth a very wet looking which is very
cool press it over the black I don't
really expect to see anything majorly
different because it's black on black
and then over here I will flush that on
its own about what I would expect from a
shiny black it's not like they go
figment of it does have a bit of sheen
to it which is quite nice and then I
will do one more swatch of the black
right here and help up the star pigment
from this collection over x10 Wow okay
so we will put that padding that on top
of this oh and sorry guys it's blurry
but you can definitely see the color and
go ahead and do a slip dress the blue on
its own holy shit that is incredible and
now I'm just taking the black marker
herb marker mmm black liner it start
smudging it just to get an idea how old
smudges which I'm quite impressed with
and then I think the final thing to do
is to try the eye gloss on top of it
and that is lovely
I don't know why this is refusing to
focus like a broom interesting texture
it feels um gel like and also a little
like Vaseline I don't know whether this
is more water-based or cream base but
there's that if we could try the gel or
something else as well let's try the gel
or blue peg round cylinder on
just intensive fun too obviously I made
a bit of a mess it up so now I'm going
to wash this off my arm and play with it
on my eyes so of course what I want to
reset the camera and show you guys the
swatches I spilled up the sequins oh
because coated say hello hi baby dogs
want to say no to people I sell babies
thank you what if they had people at
home oh they're so sweet this is your
sweet girl boy I know
Oh tell me mobile tell me what I love
when he does like you DeLeon if I read
this little booklet and it basically out
at one heard the book would basically
says a bunch of fancy-pants things to do
not without actually like telling you
how to use it so like for instance one
of them says use without caution
originated sci-fi sensuality and
otherworldly allure with future fatale
finishes ranging from smokey satin Sheen
glistening metallics and prismatic
iridescent they're done it's kind of
hard to like think and talk at the same
time well my dad's like literally
scratching clawing at my neck so again
you get the idea it's all like
highfalutin jargon and whatnot so I'm
just going to go in I'm just going to go
hard I'm gonna start with the eyeliner
um sure gonna be like extra oil off my
eyelids I know you're so mad that you're
being ignored I know it's horrible your
life is over
alright so we are doing it
something I like is that this is going
on that I look really easy without any
tugging but it's also not like super
greasy feeling eager there is a brush
that came with it so I'm going to use a
separate brush to blend this out since
this is a cream product I don't want it
to get stuck on the other brush I want
to use that one for blending out the
actual pigments and stuff I'm really
impressed with how well this is blending
out though this is a Urban Decay brush
that synthetic highlight to specific
brushes sort of using creams but I
really really like how this is blending
out so this is ever available as a
singular product I would definitely
definitely be all about this and I heard
that this that's pretty good so I'm
going to go ahead and remove any lower
lash line sweeps right away so it will
have you no trouble trying to remove it
later so this is just totally based on
the look that is presented on the Pat
McGrath Instagram I'm going to go in now
with the sparkly black shadow it's not
necessarily sparkly it just has like a
sheen wet look to it welcome to some
that sparkle come through why am I not
doomed in what the f okay so this is
this I before I smooth the shadow on
this side I've already put the shadow in
so you can see it's like super mega
opaque he does not want me to do this
right now it's like I don't understand
I've been out of town so he's like
desperate for some mommy time I'll be
with you momentarily darling
so I'm just shooting that black shadow
over the cream oh my dad you guys this
is beautiful
it's so shiny and slightly sparkly let's
see if I can zoom in just a little bit
more
I don't know if you could pick up on a
little bit of sparkle it's definitely
there mostly it just looks kind of wet
shiny black I have been waiting for
shiny like shiny black I should have
like this to come into my life I feel
like I been waiting fo cool like you to
come into my life okay immediate blend
the outer edge of this out with the
shimmery champagne gold because what I
would normally use is like a taupey
brown but since there isn't one in this
collection oh look at that sparkle
normally again I'm not really a big fan
of putting shimmer like lid to brow bone
like to actually put something that in
the crease but we are experimenting with
just having crazy fun Sparkle times so I
figure a little shworvel couldn't hurt I
have not cleaned off the brush achieving
the black shadows they're sort of mixing
together not just by being blended on
the lid but also from what's left over
on the brush I'm not going to wipe off
the brush based on the video I think
they next put the sparkly thing on the
lid so I'll try that
which is crazy pigmented oh my god
gorgeous I'm just sleeping that
I haven't picked up more products one
really really excited for this movement
so I can finally some boy broken brace
I'm so excited okay so in the video they
just kind of like do something like this
it looks a bit more impressive than what
it looks like just there on myself and
then maybe need to come the gloss person
when they put this on top that it's hard
to tell what's being done this is really
quite beautiful there is a bit of
fallout so do keep that in mind to be
named Kim amazing dark smoky shadows I
would assume that there would be quite a
lot of fallout I'm going to take the eye
gloss and apparently you really don't
need much of this and then and by the
way never ever put blossom eyelids
because they were contact lenses this is
a bit experimental for me a few times I
have tried it it's been a mess
I'm pregnant so different
this ended up kind of messy so I'm going
to try this again with my own spin on it
this side I basically kind of kept true
to what I think they did in the video
anyway again it's kind of hard to tell
starting over again on this side I'm
going to first take the awesome pencil
still really impressive the creaminess
the blend ability and the blackness of
it letting it out yet again with the
Urban Decay brush I'm taking dark matter
pigments the Smith brush kind of keeping
that the same really impressed with this
oh damn it why again my not zoomed in
now what I'm going to do to actually
blend that out is take an eyeshadow that
doesn't have any red pigment in it this
one is from Anastasia Beverly Hills
it's called stone because a matte
texture sits a bit better for the crease
I'm going to put that on look great for
blending out the black now what I'll do
is use the brush that I had dark matter
on summon up a little higher over the
lid I'm gonna take ultraviolet pigment
which is just mmm delicious
now in the video they seem to have like
really really built up the product on
the brush so you can show you that
really dramatic like sweep over me
personally I prefer to dip a little bit
in apply it
move over like I get it it's super
pigmented but that kind of oh god that
is beautiful that kind of application
doesn't tend to work for me where you
just kind of like load up the brush
especially if you just end up with like
a lot of fall on that situation which I
still definitely am getting a lot of
fall out but I'm not wasting the product
whereas I think you know when you're
doing any kind of photography like that
or videography you're really just trying
to kind of show something artistic and
fun whereas I'm trying to make a last
thing I shadow look oh my god this is so
beautiful I'm kind of like I'm in a
compulsive fit over it it's so beautiful
I'm going to just sweep whatever's left
on the brush over the outer half here so
this remains just pretty much like a
dark color hansung that cat eye with my
brush this is another Smith cosmetics
brush which is just heaven to me yes
yeah I like that but I'm going to do
keep saying what I'm going to do and I
keep not doing a damn thing I'm going to
take the black liner now and use it on
the bottom actually I'm going to try
using it in the waterline and heaven
help me because I got sensitive eyes and
I wear contacts but I've already been a
mistake
grab some things to smudge that out with
just a Mac 239 will do me for now really
loving this liner okay and then on the
inner part of the lower lash line I'm
going to put a little bit more of the
ultraviolet pigment
and then I'll take a little bit of the
mercury pigment same brush pressing that
over just like a blending out
see that you can kind of customize the
amount of presentation like I'm doing is
really light and they're going onto the
sheer kind of cool so I'm going to do in
the upper eyelids actually use the gloss
first so here's the gloss my finger this
is entirely way too much product I kind
of learned my lesson if you need very
very little and I'm just going to Pat
that carefully until the eye to enhance
that and then I will grab my shimmer
he asked for white and press that into
where I've placed the cream because
that's not making it very sparkly at all
but it does look pretty cool and what
that real sparkly looks something to go
in a second time okay so now we've got
some like flakes and chunks from the
shimmer since we use as freshmen trailer
to sort of flick them away okay that's
two versions of the save and look I mean
this still feel like a bit of like a
messy makeup maybe an image that you
used to this low case oh that was a fail
number two so I'm going to try this yet
again I'm going to use the Urban Decay
primer potion underneath everything
because I feel like I just need a nice
like all over I show base the same
texturally I think that especially as
like well not as your cheek I'm still
old I'm only 31 but when you don't have
the islands of a 21 year old model you
sometimes need to make sure that your
your textures are are working in your
favor for this kind of thing so I'm
taking my makeup forever powder that I'm
using to prime my eyelids lately and
putting that over my eye shadow primer
that way of a nice smooth canvas for
everything a little on top
okay so I'm going to still go in with
the black love this liner actually kind
of worried I'm going to use it all up
quickly because it's quite good it's
very black very blendable and alleles
that we want in this type of creamy
eyeliner base I will use Urban Decay
brush to blend that out again I washed
all my brushes with the thinnest secrets
of brush cleanser because the stuff
dries really fast I was able to play
with these stuff need items again right
away the next thing that I'm going to do
for this look is take a gray eyeshadow
and use that to blend it out so I'm
going to use this one for my Gwen
Stefani palette I'm called serious
honestly whatever grey eyeshadow that
you have to like work just fine I like
this one because it's a grey with a
brown undertone which I think always
looks really nice and you're blending
out a black using a creamy highlight I
will clean up my browbone area mostly
using this neck 2:52 to sort of blend
out the gray shadow I am now going to
take the black use that with the brush
provided you can see there's still
glitter in it sort of transferring some
glitter to the eyeshadow and so this is
kind of where we're at before I apply
the black shadow you definitely add
opaqueness a little bit of like a shine
just beautiful
and then this is sort of a sheer black
things going to kind of keep feathering
that what's with the nice seamless
transition and while I'm definitely
trying to make this a bit Thai year than
my looks
previously it doesn't have to be super
perfect and then to initiate ultraviolet
I'll be using a Smith cosmetics brush
and I'm going to go very gently and
slowly to really pack this on
one dip in great isn't it just beautiful
this utterly no ifs ands or buts
beautiful and then you get a bit halfway
over
just kind of keep blending it into the
black sort of feathers in the
considerable amount of fallout going on
so I'm going to take some nice flower
water and clean that up
going to avoid the outer edge here
because I like that soft look I've got
going and if you kind of like you need
help take a dry cotton pad and just sort
of lot any of the moisture away and then
pull it down alright so going to take a
small brush swim from link off you brush
seven and I'm going to smudge that into
my lashline the liner
and then on the outer edge here I will
sort of pull that up so I create a nice
harmonious line and this is kind of
funky right now I'm going to let those
kind of streak marks from the brush show
through
the Ferengi look
at this point the brush is basically dry
so I will then take that into the black
shadow and smudge the ultraviolet
pigment over I'm going to take the
sparkly shimmer colors um
the astral white I'll place it right in
the center and then I'm gonna get
glitter fall all over the goods okay and
I'm just taking a clean finger to sort
of tap X I can be a little bit chunky
because it's basically just like a
pressed glitter I will continue to press
that all over click into the crease area
alright guys and I'm going to go for it
and try I actually really like twister
note tried it lost one last time tiny
little bit where shouldn't one slice it
see now it kind of makes it just a
little bit smudgy which I quite like
Speirs that we got y'all okay so I'm
putting the purple blue shadow over the
gloss you know for shits and giggles to
see fix it like even more crazy
pigmented and then creates kind of out
like a greasy cream shadow just kind of
cool
I can definitely get on board with that
that is cool
definitely better suited to this kind of
like intense grungy editorial look which
i think is kind of given considering
that it's like an eye gloss except it
means these are gonna rock this kind of
in their everyday life that I kind of
like
this reminds me of something that like
Empire the Suttons we're on stage so
anyway I I'm done finances for the night
because these figures kind of stained a
bit especially the deep blue one
consumed actually you know I kind of dig
this and think this is kind of cool with
like a nice nude lip or something it's
definitely a dramatic look overall
texturally this does so really weird to
me I'm not used to wearing any kind of
gloss keeping my eye because I wear
contact lenses I'm always sort of afraid
it's going to go into my eye I want a
black on my inner room there's really
only one black liner I trust me in a
room and that said perversion from Urban
Decay I dig it like I could sit here I'm
like Cherie without whole damn day it
does take a set a bit does it say like
super super brief II just once a little
bit of look um I'm just super hero lass
so nothing to put on any foundation
today for highlight today I'm going to
the booth enough actual life better than
my voice and we do okay since this
didn't and if it worked by the way it's
like a veil of shimmer and less like
impactful highlight I'm going to Train
said putting the gloss on my face
because right now this Lawson seriously
so which were beautiful in their life
and what's on camera which is kind of
machine like the shine to my nose but
everyone else shares that but I enjoy in
fact this is really beautiful on the
skin hey guys so for my lips I'm going
to use this one from Smashbox it's
called space case it's the pewter e
silver hello
okay so this morning this for a while
now you can see it's differently
creasing it's meant to though so I
really wouldn't hold that against it
kind of like we're just turning out it's
kind of textural and gritty and grungy
and I don't entirely hate it so that is
the look kind of weird that's kind of
what I was going for her I think that
this is a product that it's going to
appeal most mainly to people who want to
do kind of out their makeup or want to
use each product individually not
necessarily all together at the same
time so if you're looking at this as
flying like a look definitely can do
that absolutely but I think that these
products will kind of work better
separated there's certain ones like I
think like this this eyeliner is mom
this will work with a lot of different
things so I get a lot of Max grease
paint sticks again it's not a lot
surprising considering that Pat McGrath
was a actually one of the creative
directors for Mac if not definitely one
of their like lead makeup artists in
fact quite a lot of these products kind
of remind me of things that Mac has had
like this reminds me of reflex teal
glitter which is a super super friendly
mobile glitter Matt had I don't know if
they still sell it this this is amazing
and I know that there's another stuff
that comes with like a a topaz color in
place of the blue it's definitely my
tick because that kind of brown color is
relatively common well know that this
blue is like so out of this world that
you think this pigment is particularly
beautiful and it mixed with the the
gloss kind of creates this gorgeous
creamy greasy like it's really kind of
cool don't know that I would wear this
all the time is definitely interesting
you do for fun oh shoot and kind of shut
it down reminds me a bit of press from
Blade Runner which is one of my favorite
movies of all time so I dug this it was
cool it was fun it was experimental and
I hope that you guys dug it too if you
did please give me a thumbs up let me
know what you like to see next on my
channel and remember to turn on those
notifications so you can be notified
when I make a new video there's a little
Bell icon go ahead and click it and I'll
see you guys in my next video or now
retrieve vintage or tacky just for your
kind of beautiful see you buy your long
seller was prescribes before I actually
take it off I'm just going to see like
how much I can blend this is so wrong so
it does sort of stay like I says these
sort of pliable but it does sort of set
down as well I'm kind of really like
look how beautiful that looks over the
skin I'd only want to see that I'm going
to get hate letters on this video like
what the hell that's closer
oh so that's all awesome to see that
like pulled my eyelid the dog is so not
into me doing this anymore he's like you
said the outro we're not doing this
anymore what are you doing
totally like Priss meats Empire of the
Sun I think this is a cool product
alright alright I'm done you over it but
you can't lick this honey no no I'll
wash it off and you can lick my face all
right bye
