Introversão é a minha personalidade! | Interpretação do livro: O poder dos Quietos | Susan Cain - Duration: 3:34.
In December 1955, a woman named Rosa Sparks refuses to get up from her seat
on the bus to make way for a white at the driver's request.
Rosa was known for being shy and reserved, but by saying "no" that day she unleashed
one of the most important 20th century civil rights protests backed by Martin Luther
King Jr. and a crowd of others.
In this context, we realize that the different types of personality complement each other like
the partnership of the quiet Rosa Sparks and the outgoing speaker Martin Luther King Jr.
The north and south of temperament is where each of us is located in the introversion-extroversion spectrum.
It influences how we choose and relate to friends and partners, how we lead a conversation
or resolve differences.
It also affects the profession we choose and whether we will be successful in it or not.
The problem is that nowadays society praise the most daring, the most sociable,
the guy who feels comfortable being the center of attention.
Some studies have pointed out that extroverts are valued as smarter,
more beautiful, and more desirable as friends.
The author calls this the Extrovert Ideal, a model we need to reevaluate, as it has become
an oppressive pattern that most of us think we should follow.
We have come to forget that some of the greatest ideas in both art and science and
inventions originated from quiet and introverted people such as:
Albert Einstein with his theory of relativity Van Gogh, with his The Sunflowers
And Charles Darwin, with his theory of evolution
Some examples of the Extrovert Ideal in adult daily life would be job vacancies
that always ask for interpersonal relationships as essential, offices without walls
or partitions that insist that we work in groups, the constant expectation that we "sell
our fish" and we promote ourselves to win that much-desired promotion.
Being introverted as I am, I remember well the prejudice against the quiet as a child.
The most intriguing is that as an adult I suffered a lot for being quieter and reserved.
I still did not understand that being introverted was my personality and there was nothing
wrong with that.
Approximately 30 to 50% of the population is of introverts, that is, one in two
or three people you know is introverted.
What about you?
Do you consider yourself more introverted or more extroverted?
In the next few episodes, we'll see more about the differences between personalities,
studies and thoughts on the subject.
Stay tuned!

Como parar de pensar negativo? | Interpretação do livro: O poder do Agora | Eckhart Tolle - Duration: 6:03.
Most people already wake up with a steady stream of negative thoughts.
These thoughts stay with them until bedtime and often cause even sleep disorders
such as taking hours to sleep or having insomnia.
The problem is that most of these thoughts will never come true.
And the thoughts that come to be real, do not matter that much or
will simply be challenges that we overcome.
A great juggling of daily chores.
It's funny that most people do not even realize it.
They live a life of worry and suffering thinking that this is normal.
Maybe you do not realize what your mind is doing to you.
Or maybe you've tried some method like meditation for example to become
more aware of your thoughts, but still you can not get rid of the negatives.
They are part of your identity, for they have been with you for a long time.
And to get rid of your suffering would be like losing an essential part of you.
Actually, the mind is probably one of the most powerful tools we have, but the more
powerful it is, the more dangerous it becomes when we have no control over it.
Imagine that you are a bus driver, carrying many passengers.
And then, along the way, the passengers begin to insult you and say things that
discourage you, giving you orders of where to go, what to do, how and when to do it.
When you realize you are doing everything as your passengers wish, ending up
convincing yourself that the passengers have already left the bus and that you are the one driving it
by the only possible route.
The passengers are your thoughts, your ego, your mind.
And if you are not aware of them you will be controlled by them losing the
driver's seat of your own life.
But why is this a problem?
Because it's killing you little by little. Studies reveal that stress has great impact not only on our mental health causing anxiety
and depression for example, but also on our physical health causing a variety of
diseases including cancer.
But then how to solve this?
Eckhart Tolle says that "this is an unconscious process and the only way to overcome
it is to become aware of it."
So we need to "watch the Thinker" and become present.
However, there are two obstacles to becoming present:
The first is the past and the second is the future.
As you cling to things that have happened or things that are likely to happen,
you are preventing yourself from dealing with your suffering and interrupting your own awakening.
So folks, please do not keep getting martyred for past mistakes, both those caused by
third parties that made you suffer as your own mistakes.
This is all in the past.
It has already happened, there is nothing that can be done in the past, only in the present.
You are not your suffering.
You are not your past.
The best place in the world is here and now, as Gilberto Gil would sing.
But what about the future?
How can I reconcile my goals and plans with being present at the moment?
Living in the present does not mean not planning.
I believe that the author wanted to show us for example that suffering for an increase or a promotion
at work say for a year or two and be happy for five minutes when finally
receiving the increase returning to suffering for another year or two for another increase or promotion
does not make any sense.
We are sure that the author himself had his goals, otherwise he would not have written
so many best-selling books.
The idea is to live the moment, do your best every day, ask yourself: what can I
do today that will lead me to achieve my goals?
What attitudes lead me to be a better person for myself and others today?
I think most of you recognize the following idea: Happiness is not in the destination,
but in every curve of the way that we travel to find it.
This is a cliché, but think as if you had a remote control and could
skip all phases of your life and put yourself there at the end.
Let's say you do not remember anything that happened, just know that you were a successful person
in life.
Will you be proud of yourself?
Will you be happy to get there?
Or will you have this feeling that everything was too easy and that you have somehow lost
the best moments of your life?
It may be cliché, but everyone agrees that we only value something that we've 'sweat the shirt' (worked hard for)
to achieve.
If you can remember this you will live more present at the moment and the moments that
you are "sweating the shirt" (working hard) will be much more pleasant.

9 SECRETS OF THE WORLD'S LONGEST LIVING PEOPLE - health - Duration: 5:14.
9 SECRETS OF THE WORLDS LONGEST LIVING PEOPLE
What is the secret to longevity, and why do some people attain it while others dont?
Is it sheer luck, or are there some key factors at play here?
Are we all born with the same potential to live a long and healthy life or is that determined
solely by genetics?
Interestingly, it seems as though people living in specific regions of the world tend to live
longer than those living elsewhere.
So, what is it about these specific regions that offer people a chance to live a full
life?
This was the question that National Geographic explorer Dan Buettner wanted to answer.
Through his research, Buettner identified five geographic locations where people have
been observed to live the longest.
He has identified these regions as Blue Zones, and found that even though these
zones differ widely geographically, the diets and lifestyles of their residents share much
in common.
You dont have to live in one of these areas to ensure longevity, however, and if you are
looking to live a long and healthy life then you may want to consider the following observations.
What Are the Most Effective Ways to Achieve Longevity?
In Western society, the idea of growing older is not necessarily celebrated or anticipated.
It is actually often feared, as we associate old age with chronic pain and disease.
But it doesnt have to be this way, and with some awareness and vision, we too can
have a long and purposeful life despite our geographical location.
In the following video, Dan Buettner reveals what he has discovered are the secrets to
longevity and the habits and traits shared by those who live the longest.
Some of them might shock you, but as Buettner says, If you ask the average American what
the optimal formula for longevity is, they probably couldnt tell you. This is a
pretty telling statement many of us are simply unaware of the key lifestyle factors
that contribute to health and vitality.
Here are the nine things we can take away from this presentation.
1.
Slow Down and Deal With Stress
Common amongst those living in blue zones was effectively dealing with stress when it
arises, and in many cases living lifestyles that do not cause a lot of excess stress in
the first place.
Taking time to slow things down and enjoy life was a common theme throughout Buettners
studies.
2.
Have a Purpose
Having a reason to get out of bed every day, especially for seniors, was essential.
Simply put, finding something to do on a regular basis keeps us happy and helps us live longer.
3.
Eat Less
Buettner observed the eating habits of various cultures in these regions, and all ate sparingly.
The eating habits of the Okinawans specifically demonstrated an aversion to excess.
They know that the feeling of fullness comes after the meal is completed so, rather than
stuffing themselves until they feel full, they stop eating before they feel full, knowing
the feeling will come after.
They also eat off small plates and prepare small portions.
4.
Eat a Variety of Foods and Lots of Plants
Common among all Blue Zones was the amount and variety of plant-based foods that were
being consumed.
Having a diet consisting of predominantly plant-based foods proves to be a key factor
in longevity regardless of your geographical location.
5.
Be Social
In America, elderly people are often put into care homes and lead very lonely and isolated
lives.
Something all of the Blue Zones have in common is a strong sense of community that includes
the older people.
Instead of shunned and forgotten, older people are celebrated and included.
6.
Have Faith
A large percentage of those living in Blue Zones had faith.
They believed in a higher purpose for life, be it religious or spiritual.
7.
Drink in Moderation or Not At All
It seems this one was a bit of a toss up.
People either enjoyed a glass of wine or two daily or didnt drink at all.
In either case, Buettner did not see people drinking to excess.
8.
Move Naturally
People who live in Blue Zones tend to move a lot throughout the day, but they arent
making a point to do it it just comes naturally.
Their daily activities include gardening, walking, and spending time outdoors.
9.
Put Loved Ones First
People in Blue Zones tend to stay close to their family members.
Parents and grandparents play a big role in the lives of their children and they stay
connected and close by, remaining an integral part of each others lives.
Much Love

Ep 39 - Greece (part 6) - Around Europe on a Motorcycle - Honda Transalp 700 - Duration: 10:02.
I just arrived in Metsovo.
I followed the road through Pindos mountain range.
It was very windy and very cold.
It was about 3 degrees.
Here in Metsovo the temperature is 6 degrees right now.
I arrived in Ioannina!
I am at the island of Ioannina, or the island of Ali Pasha.
The cost for the boat to come here is only €2, and €2 more to go back.
The museum of Ali Pasha which is renovated recently costs €3.
I am with Maria, we are taking a small trip to Tzoumerka.
We are in Tsimovou bridge, in the North area of Tzoumerka.
And this is Arachthos river.
Tzoumerka mountain range is a part of Pindos mountain range.
Behind the snowy mountain tops is Thessaly.
The peak in front of us is named "Stroggoula"
and "Kakarditsa" is the one behind it.
The village on the other side is called "Pramanta"
Behind the peak of "Stoggoula" is the central region of Tzoumerka.
We are in "Syrrako" in Tzoumerka region.
A very beautiful and traditional village.
There are 3-4 entrances to the village, and you have to leave your vehicle there and walk in the village.
The buildings are unevenly build in the side of the mountain.
The difference of Syrrako with Kalarytes is that exaclty. Syrrako is built amfitheatricaly, there are a lot of uphills.
Kalarytes are a little bit more flat for walking.
We are in "Kipina" monastery
It's located on the road to "Kalarytes", in the village "Kipina".
To visit the monastery you have to make a small stop to the coffeeshop of the village to get the keys.
This is the way to do it if you want to visit the monastery.
There is the designated sign at the coffee shop: "For the monastery keys stop here"
This is a bridge that can be lifted up, in order to prevent the entry in the monastery.
The key from the coffee shop.
You have to turn of the candles when leaving because no one is going to come and there is a risk for fire.
This cave was the shelter. And in this one they were storing their supplies.
The monastery has a couple of rooms to be able to hosts some guests.
We are in the old bridge of Plaka.
It used to be the biggest one arch bridge of the Balkans.
I left from Ioannina today.
It's about 7 p.m and I reached "Psarades" village, on the Prespa lakes.
I will have to wake up early tomorrow because I am heading to Albania!

Mouth Guard Moulding - Roller Derby | Sonia Nicolson - Duration: 2:53.
Hey guys, so for those of you who don't
know I've recently taken up roller derby
and I'm starting to invest in my own kit.
So I have practice tonight and I have my
mouth guard and I'm basically just going
to make a really quick video on how to
mould it. So I think that you might have
to remould it a couple of times
throughout its use so this would be good
to kind of reference and but also I just
wanted to put it up, to share it with you
guys, so let's get into it.
This is the mouth guard that I've got, it was the one that
was recommended to me and it's the
Sisu Aero. It does say on the back
that it's for a roller derby and yeah...
I got the purple because seemingly the
white discolours so I'm going to look like
I've got purple teeth.
The instructions read: heat water in a small bowl so it's
hot to the touch but not boiling. Place
the mouthguard
into the hot water and wait until it
comes soft and pliable - be careful not to
let their softened guard fold over onto
itself because material can glue
together and it makes it really
difficult to reshape. Once soft, carefully
lift the mouth guard out of the water
with a fork. So this line here is where
you're to place your front teeth, using
a mirror insert the mouth guard and bite
down gently onto the solid bar in the
middle of the mouth guard. Press your
tongue to the roof of your mouth whilst
flipping up the guard against your front
teeth. Then, starting at the back of your
mouth, use your fingertips to mould
the guard, creating a solid shield.
So once material is completely moulded,
close your lips over the mouth guard and
gently suck in air until the material is
hardened to snug and perfect fit...
and that should be all.
So that was really easy to fit, em, I did
do it a couple of times just put it back in
the hot water to kind of get it nice
and soft again and then refitted it just
to make sure it was the most comfortable
and just to kind of give myself a bit of
practice. This is what it looks like when
it's in - I don't think I can talk with it.
I'm sure it will take some getting used
to but it's absolutely a must-have because
it does shock absorb some of those hits
and falls that you'll be getting throughout
your games. So I'm just going to store
it in the case that it came in. It
basically says to clean it, you've just
to brush it with a regular toothbrush and
toothpaste, rinse well and store in the
nice dry place. If you have any questions
about it, put them in the messages below
and I'll see if I can help you out, but I
am absolutely no expert, I am completely
fresh meat roller derby so as I learn
things I'll try and share them with you
guys and, yeah, you can do the same in the comments.
See you next time, bye.

SCIENTISTS UNABLE TO EXPLAIN MYSTERIOUS COSMIC RADIO SIGNAL
BY ALEXA ERICKSONMAY
Space is steeped in mystery, and that very thought alone has made scientists determined
to break through some of the biggest questions of all.
Yet finding solutions to some only make more what-ifs arise.
To say that space offers infinite discoveries would be a gross understatement.
Currently, scientists are at a loss to explain what fast radio bursts (FRB) are, what they
mean, and where they come from. The most mysterious explosive signals in the Universe, theyve
been linked to a slew of things, including alien spaceships and microwaves, but remain
a problem to be solved.
Scientists believe about 2,000 of these FRBs are igniting the Universe on a daily basis
the bursts of energy lasting just milliseconds, but each one a billion times brighter than
anything weve yet to come across in our galaxy.
The latest one scientists spotted, called FRB 150215, on February 15, 2015, with the
Parkes Telescope in Australia, only perplexed them even more.
Because of the direction it was coming from in the sky, they shouldnt have even been
able to see it at all.
We spent a lot of time with a lot of telescopes to find anything associated with it, explained
Emily Petroff from the Netherlands Institute for Radio Astronomy, the studys first author.
We got new wavelength windows weve never gotten before.
. . . Were still trying to figure out where this one came from.
Considering they only last for about five milliseconds, it makes sense that scientists
have such a difficult time finding them, nevermind pinning down valuable information afterward.
In fact, it wasnt until earlier this year that scientists were actually able to confirm
that FRBs are not Earth-based, but rather come from space.
Its easy to assume scientists are more than just perplexed, but downright frustrated.
However, this isnt merely a high school math problem, and scientists see a greater
picture here.
Its not very often in science that you get to work on something thats so brand
new and so unknown that you get to answer the fundamental questions, said Petroff,
whos discovered several FRBs.
Its exciting to be in these very early stages of the field when you can make a big
impact with your research and answer these really big questions.
It is believed that thousands of FRBs are happening daily, and new telescopes are in
the works to confirm such estimates soon.
The hope is we can stop talking about FRBs individually, and begin to put together connections
and point out oddities between the signals.

So what would Trump's proposed Arab NATO look like - Duration: 4:04.
So what would Trumps proposed Arab NATO look like
BY JAZZ SHAW
The press is reporting that President Trump has a new idea which isnt exactly new
so much as a new spin on a proposal which has been kicking around for a while now.
During his trip to the Middle East he will be rolling out plans for an Arab NATO
which, in theory, would get the more moderate elements of Muslim nations to band together
to fight terrorism and generally maintain the peace while providing a buffer against
Iran and other, more radical regimes.
Josh Rogin provides some of the few available details.
(Washington Post)
When President Trump arrives in Riyadh this week, he will lay out his vision for a new
regional security architecture White House officials call an Arab NATO, to guide
the fight against terrorism and push back against Iran.
As a cornerstone of the plan, Trump will also announce one of the largest arms-sales deals
in history.
Behind the scenes, the Trump administration and Saudi Arabia have been conducting extensive
negotiations, led by White House senior adviser Jared Kushner and Saudi Deputy Crown Prince
Mohammed bin Salman.
The discussions began shortly after the presidential election, when Mohammed, known in Washington
as MBS, sent a delegation to meet with Kushner and other Trump officials at Trump
Tower.
After years of disillusionment with the Obama administration, the Saudi leadership was eager
to do business.
They were willing to make a bet on Trump and on America, a senior White House official
said.
It seems as if the prime mover and shaker in these discussions has been Saudi Arabia
and they would be one of the early benefactors in the form of a massive arms deal with
the United States.
Nothing too surprising there, since the Saudis have been allies of convenience with us (for
lack of a better term) for quite a while now.
Weve regularly engaged in such deals, up to and including selling them fighter jets
on a regular basis.
That military / economic relationship got a bit rocky under Barack Obama, including
an announcement last year that we would be limiting some sales of military equipment
to the Saudis in a rather half hearted protest of their military campaign in Yemen.
Sounds like all has been forgiven and forgotten now.
But as the Post notes, plans like this have been attempted before.
Egypt tried to get something similar going a few years ago but the deal quickly fell
apart as the proposed member nations began squabbling with each other.
The missing element may have been the cooperation and full support of the United States.
Who knows?
Perhaps the rise of ISIS might have some of them taking it more seriously.
But its not going to be a coalition of all the nations in the region, obviously.
Most likely it will just be the ones with Sunni majorities.
The more Shiite oriented countries (e.g. Iran and Pakistan) probably wouldnt feel particularly
welcome.
That makes the situation with Iraq even more complicated, since their own Shiite population
has had the nation leaning more and more toward Iran ever since we pulled out.
But hey cant hurt to try, I suppose.
Trump has so many pots boiling over on the stove back home right now that he could use
anything that looks like a win on the foreign policy front to take some of the pressure
off.
But for this to be more than a paper tiger with a new arms deal tossed in will require
some pretty skillful diplomacy.
Getting any two of those nations to cooperate very long on anything other than oil production
quotas is akin to herding cats.
Best of luck, Mr. President.

Dover: Castle, White Cliffs and South Foreland Lighthouse - Duration: 8:57.
Hello everyone! Welcome back to my channel!
And welcome if you new!
And if you are new my name is Audrone
and it's Stormy Adventure Time.
I am at St Pancras station right now in London
waiting for my train to go to Dover today.
And I missed one of trains I wanted to take
so I'm waiting for the next one.
And my goal today is to go and see
Dover Castle and as well White Cliffs.
So let's go!
That's a seriously long way up and the castle is
still a little bit more up.
Let's go.
So I am at the Dover Castle right now
and it's a huge area.
Lots of buildings.
And it's really really old.
I'm heading right to the lighthouse
which was built nearly 2,000 years ago.
Can you imagine that?
And it's built during the Roman time.
And the castle itself was built in the 12th century.
Dover location is really unique because
it's the shortest distance between England
and the continent if you're traveling by the sea.
And that's why this place became very strong
in defensing the country.
And Dover castle was built and
it was used as a defensive place
even during the World War One and Two.
Now if I want to get the White Cliffs today,
enough of wandering around the castle
and it's time to get going to the cliffs.
So I'm finally walking the route to see the White Cliffs.
You can actually see the Dover Port behind me.
So it's really interesting.
I will be trying to get not only to the viewpoint
but also to the lighthouse.
And according to the information leaflet
it's going to take me 3 hours
to get to the lighthouse and come back.
And then I have around an hour walk to the station.
So wish me luck and hopefully no rain.
So see you at some nice viewpoint.
The cloud line which you can see on the other side
is actually a coast of France.
This view is so gorgeous!
I'm so happy I came here.
I didn't expect it to be so beautiful but it's...
Wow!
Let's keep going.
That tiny white dot far away is
the lighthouse where I'm going.
There are two very interesting facts about this lighthouse.
One, it's the first lighthouse in the world
to use electric light.
And second, it received the first
international radio transmission from
Northern France
Alright. That's it for today.
I hope you enjoyed this video.
And if you did please give a thumbs up.
And if you would like to see more of my videos future
about wandering around the country
and in general around the world,
please click that red subscribe button
down below this video.
And I will see next Saturday.
Bye!

North Carolina teacher suspended after comparing a student to a slave and using the N-word - Duration: 1:51.
A North Carolina teacher has been suspended after a video emerged on social media showing
him using a racial slur and comparing a student to slave last week.
Ayona Wilson told WTVD her 13-year-old son was humiliated after footage of the incident
surfaced on the popular phone app, Snapchat, and she has since withdrawn him from the school.
In the video, the Apex Middle School teacher can be heard saying:
"Did I call you a 'n*****?'
No, I said you are being controlled, by kids.
That is exactly what happened to the slaves.
They were controlled by their owners, you're letting him control you and you're the one
who's getting in trouble."
Wilson's 13-year-old son and the subject of the video in question, Dayon Warren, told
reporters that his teacher was upset because a group of children was laughing in the classroom.
That's when Warren said the teacher used a slave master analogy as a means of saying
children should listen to their elders.
"I didn't know what to say.
He started calling me a slave," he said.
"He could have said it different instead of using that analogy that I was his slave."
The teacher has been placed on paid suspension pending an investigation, according to a letter
obtained by AOL News that the school principal sent to families.
"While we are not at liberty to discuss confidential personnel information, please be assured that
the district takes any complaints against personnel seriously and is committed to fair
and thorough investigations and resolutions of such matters," Apex Middle School principal
Allen Ellzey stated in an email.
"I want to make it clear that we have high expectations for behavior and policies addressing
codes of ethics for the teachers in our building," Ellzey continued.
"We strictly adhere to these expectations and enforce these policies."

Cincinnati mayor apologizes to cops for proclamation honoring cop killer - Duration: 1:55.
Outraged Cincinnati cops received an apology from the mayor of the Ohio city after his
office inadvertently issued a proclamation naming a day in honor of a cop killer.
Mayor John Cranley issued the apology Thursday, saying that the proclamation never should
have been approved, Fox19 Cincinnati reported Friday.
"I am sorry that my office, that we mistakenly issued a proclamation on behalf of a man that
killed-- murdered-- Sonny Kim," said Cranley, according to the station.
He said the proclamation quickly was retracted.
Prosecutors say Trepierre Hummons ambushed Officer Kim, a 48-year-old father of three,
on a Cincinnati street on June 19, 2015.
After being shot, Kim wrestled away Hummons' gun.
Another cop who responded to the scene shot and killed Hummons, who was 21.
Cincinnati happens to be honoring Kim and other fallen officers Friday, the New York
Post reported.
The proclamation declared June 1 "Tre Day" in Cincinnati and said in part that the sacrifice
of Hummons "will save lives of children for generations to come," the station reported.
A cop on Thursday posted a photo of the proclamation on Facebook page of Cincinnati's police
union, the Cincinnati Enquirer reported.
"Am I the only one who sees something wrong with this," the cop said.
"If this is real, something must be done…
I'm having trouble finding the words," another cop responded.
Ronald Hummons sought the proclamation honoring his son to raise awareness of child abuse
and mental illness, the station reported.
Cranley said his communications director approved the request without notifying him, according
to the station.
The staffer then mailed Hummons the proclamation, which was stamped with the mayor's signature.
The head of the police union said he didn't fault Cranley for the screw-up, Fox19 reported.
