to present Nike's surprise for this year.
What do we have here?
MA: Today we're trying the new Nike Phantom Venom.
F: Fist of all
We won't talk about any technical details
But about sensations.
You've already tried these boots. I saw you wearing the prototype.
What was your first reaction?
MA: It's quite comfortable from the first use.
The boot adapts really fast to your foot.
The laces are on the side
so they don't affect shots that much, when striking the ball
which is something I've always liked.
and the striking element is also harder to provide strength to kicks.
F: Yes, they remind me of the Total 90.
I've had a few Total 90 Laser
and I think they're very similar to the Laser iv
The laces are moved to liberate the striking area
The shooting element is also in the instep.
and as you say
It doesn't take long for the boot to adapt,
just one training session and you're comfortable, right?
MA: Nowadays the quality of boots allows to wear them for the first time in a match.
That's important.
To try to have comfort
and reduce injuries
fortunatelly today's boots are a great help.
F: We've also mentioned the striking element.
I personally think this a kind of placebo effect.

But it is true this was really used during the 2000's.
Since you shoot many free-kicks, do you think this affects in anyway?
MA: well I think
Once you get used to it
it can help when controling the ball and specially
since you have a harder surface
you can generate more power
it's not the same to strike the ball with a hard surface than with a soft one
F: You've actually used Hypervenom before,
as many other players
Who will make this move
What are the differences between both of them?
MA: Both are great boots.
Since I started with Hypervenom, I've been happy with them
and the change has been for the better.
This section outside is really soft
so the boot can adapt quickly to the foot
So I hope this new elemente comes with goals.
F: Definitely. I want to point out
because we have Flyknit in all the lace area.
So this boot is also suitable for wide feet.
Nike used to make narrower boots
with a single piece upper
ad fot those with widder feet could be a strugle
but here you notice the elasticity
so you shouldn't have any issues adapting to this boot.
we also have briocables
not too agressive but they will prevent roll-over
specially in lateral movements
F: As always, We finish by talking about the outsole
We have bladed studs,
I've checked the boots you've used throughout your career
and you usually use really aggressive bladed studs, right?
MA: Yes, but here in England and being a defender,
it's almost compulsory to use mixed studs
but I've tried the FG outsole .
and it's gone really well
Winter in England
and if it works well here in the England winter, it will be even better in Spain
F: Well, you can appreciate that
There's not a sigle conical stud
in the entire plate
so if you like conical studs this isn't probably the best option
But I think the boot is good in general
It reminds me a lot to the attack boots
like the Total 90 that we had years back
and I think it's been a wise move to bring them back.
