Not officially settled in, but still gotta take care of stuff.
Gonna run some errands, get groceries and essentials, make my schedule for the week,
try to make the appointments I need to make, do my self care -'cause that's important.
Health is important.
And happiness is important.
Gonna dye this hair that has become gray, caca blue.
Dying warm colors over cool colors doesn't cancel them out: Art Class 101.
Yesterday, I met my friend at Museum of Moving Image, and it just so happened to be the same
museum that Shia LaBeouf and his little art crew um made their installation outside of.
I made eye contact with Shia LaBeouf across the street-it was this moment like when you
see a celebrity, whether you think they're overrated or underrated or like, genuinely,
like some stuff that they've done...#AllMyMovies was cool- wow you are just a human; just another
white man.
I was just not impressed anymore.
You experience them, not necessarily in person, and just read articles and it sounds super
cool.
Like there were articles that were posted like while it started at the beginning of
the day, and they like hyped it up.
Like it really hyped up this live stream that was going to continuously stream for four
years, yada yada yada and Jaden Smith was there blah blah blah.
And I went there at night -I don't even know if there was hype- and there was this really
small group of people huddled together.
Obviously, nobody making a big deal that Shia LaBeouf was with them, 'cause you know they
wanna seem cool.
But also like it was so...pathetic to me...
So the phrase that they were chanting, that was stenciled on the wall, was "he will not
divide us".
Just the most passive phrase.
And like if you couldn't tell, I'm a radical, so like I need like protest and activism is
not just sharing articles and being like "oh yeah love, no hate".
Like sometimes you gotta go out and you know...fight.
The phrase was almost apolitical and I saw no point in it.
And I was like you know those people are only there because Shia's actually standing with
them.
And obviously he's not gonna be there 365 and a half days for every four years.
Like if the stream dies, like I don't know.
The concept of it, I think would've been cool if they didn't actually do it or if they only
did it for a really short amount of time, kinda cataloged it on their website or whatever.
It's one of those things where if you're of a certain caliber like white mediocrity is
celebrated to like this unbelievable extent.
I can't wait to experience more experiences and disappointments in New York.
It's just weird, after that moment, like I just can't think of him the same.
Starting this kind of like internship soon.
So I happen to get like the best of the best, but like I know nothing about this organization,
or this field.
So that'll be interesting.
I'm in Brooklyn, really excited to be able to see all the cool shows with all the artists
that I really like that are in the lo-fi diy punk scene.
So I have to save the money for them.
I was like freaking out about being like away from my main school campus and away from home
and like not being mentally prepared to be a productive member of society, just 'cause
I have so much baggage and issues.
I was like ready to quit everything, but I've kind of calmed down now, so in order to prevent
a spiral I'm trying to get my resources together and try to stay organized and make sure that
I have fun but also be productive and learn stuff I'm actually interested in and take
care of my health- physically and mentally.
So I saw this article on Facebook about Mark Zuckerberg, like completely trashing him is
like funny 'cause it's like his platform and like using his platform to bash him which
is like the greatest irony of all.
Oh it was like he's...I can't remember exactly, so I wanna make that clear.
He's apparently like forcing people out of their homes so he can take ownership of their
land so he can just have more private space around his estate or whatever the heck it
is.
But it's definately messed up, you can't just take away people's property just because you
wanna make your property bigger.
Like you're just one person.
For his personal housing or something...It doesn't surprise me because even if you watch
the Social Network, like, he is petty.
Like Mark Zuckerberg is petty.
So yeah, and I really hate Facebook, I purged a lot of people who were like fake friends.
I don't wanna see pictures of you making out with your dog if I don't like you or if you're
fake to me in real life or if you don't respect me as a human.
I don't like to waste my time.
But I will say my favorite thing about Facebook and really the only thing that's really keeping
me there is like being able to search for events and like art stuff that's going on,
um there are just like all these shows that a;ways happen, that I never get to go to,
but now I get to go to since now I'm in the area.
And so being able to know what's going on, is really dope, going to art shows and punk
shows and free festivals.I guess you had the right friends, which I have to work on, then...there's
a thought.
Making the right amount of friends who condone social media enough to give me the information
so that I don't have to do something that I don't condone, but rather, condemn.
Mmm I could do that.
Yeah, we'll see where the journey takes me.
